"Levina!"
A few guards stare at the statue of this mayor, cover in doodles of paint. Little did they know, a girl wearing yellow harem clothes, with her hair shape like a lightning bolt was snickering in a nearby ally, holding a paintbrush. Her name was Levina, and she was an orphan half-genie girl. Many found her to be overactive and hyper. She steps out of her hiding spot and faces the guards.
"Hey, Dummies! You can't give protect the mayor's cat!" She shouted at them.
"Get her!" A guard shouted.
Levina smirks before slapping her butt in a teasing matter. She ran from the guards that chase after her. She looks behind her and saw they were still chasing after her. She smirks and got ready for her surprise. When the first guard was close enough, Levina's eyes glow yellow as electricity appears in her.
"ZAP!" She shouted as the guard grabs the lighting hair, shocking himself.
Luckily, it was just to stun the guard a little bit. She would never hurt anyone with her lighting magic. But that was only to remind the guards they shouldn't get close to her. Her real plan was coming up real soon. She leads the guards through the town, humming a song she thought off. She turns around the corner and jumps. The Guards chase after her before falling into a pit. Levina walks back in looks into the pit.
"HAHAHA! You saps fell for it again! Come on, this is like, what? The tenth time you fell down in the same pit trap." She laughs.
She was so busy laughing she didn't notice someone was behind her until he clears his throat. She jumps and turns around. Surprised to see an old man, walking with a cane by his side. His hair grey from his old age.
"Mayor?!" Levina shouted, knowing she was in trouble.
"Levina, up to your old pranks are you?" He asked.
"Um..." She said, unsure.
The Mayor sighs and backends for her to follow him. Levina sighs and does so.
Later, Mayor's House...
Levina sat on a pillow as she took the cup from the mayor. They held their cups to the sky before drinking the tea inside. Once done, Levina finally voices the question she was holding on to.
"Mayor, are you mad? I mean, I painted your statue." She said.
"Oh, I was actually hoping for some color on it. Trust me. Seeing it in stone or gold so many times, gets kind of old." He said.
Levina really didn't her town's mayor. Every time she pulls a prank, the Mayor compliments on it and goes about his day. Many were shocked that the Mayor let her go scot-free from them.
"I don't get it. Why are you being so nice to me?" She asked.
"Levina, I know why you're doing this. The townspeople might not see it, but I do. You're lonely. You want people to notice you." He said.
Levina looks down. She has been on her own for a long time. She barely remembers her parents. She understood that her mom was a genie, and she had to go back to their realm. She barely remembers her father. The Mayor did want he could to help her, but many people didn't seem to notice her. The Mayor sighs and decides to bring up something he wanted to give her.
"Levina." He said, making the girl lookup.
"Here..." He said, handing her a stone.
It was yellow with a lightning bolt inside of it. Levina could feel something coming from it, and it felt welcoming.
"That belongs to your mother." The Mayor said.
"My mother?" Levina asked, shocked.
"Yes, she gave it to me after you were born. I believe it now the right time for you to have it." He said.
"Mom..." Levina said, looking at the stone.
"And there's another thing." The Mayor asked.
"Mayor, my answer is still no," Levina said, knowing what he was going to ask.
"It wasn't about being this town guardian. I wanted to know why you didn't go to the Half-Genie Festival. It was a chance to meet either half-genies. And to meet some friends." He said.
"It was a nice idea. I did think about it, but..." Levina asked.
"But?" The Mayor asked.
"This town is the only place I know. I can't leave it. It means too much to me." She said, missing the mayor's smile.
"As it does to me." He said.
Levina holds the stone close to her. Suddenly one of the guards came running in.
"Mayor! Dr. Sterling is attacking the town!" He said.
The Mayor sighs. Dr. Sterling was once a renowned inventor for his town before she was discovered for trying to get Levina to use her magic for weapons that he didn't approve of. She was caught and kick out of town. However, she swore to get back at the town for their actions. That was three years ago.
"Get everyone to the shelters, and ready the guards." He said, getting a nod.
"You as well, Levina." He said to her.
"But..." She started.
"Dr. Sterling is surely to try to use your magic for her machines. You have already promised not to do that." He said before walking out.
Levina looks at the stone before holding it close to her heart.
"Mom, what should I do?" She whispers.
Dr. Sterling looks over her former home as her robot minions started to attack everything in sight. She was dressed much like a mad scientist with her black hair all wild and sticking up.
"HAHAHA! That's right, my minions! Attack! Show these fools what happens when you cross..." She started before seeing someone else.
"Dr. Sterling." The Mayor said, making the mad scientist walk up to him.
"Mayor! What a nice surprise. Came to surrender?" She asked.
"No, you know why I am here." He said.
"HAHAHA! You know why I'm here." She laughs.
The Mayor shook his head. To think she could lead the town into a new age.
"Sterling, you know why I disprove of your weapons. They are too dangerous. And trying to use Levina as your "battery" is something I will not allow for you to do." He said.
"Levina is a genie! Her magic was going to waste! I was just giving her a chance to find her true self!" Dr. Sterling said.
The Mayor narrows his eyes at her. He never liked how some people treated Levina as something she was not. He knew very well Levina was a person, not an object. He looks into Sterling's eyes and saw no trace of the woman he once knew.
"Leave my town." He said.
"YOUR town? HAHAHA!" Dr. Sterling laughs, turning from him.
"This isn't your town anymore!" She said.
"It's OUR town!"
Everyone turns to see Levina standing on top of a building, looking down at the group.
"Ah! Levina! So nice to see you, dear!" Dr. Sterling said, smiling.
Levina looks at Sterling, still remembering what she tried to do with her. She jumps down and lands in front of the group.
"Levina, I told you to get to the shelters!" The Mayor said.
Levina steps up and looks into Sterling's eyes. She could tell this was not the kind woman she met three years ago.
"The mayor told you to leave. If you don't, then I will make you." She said.
"Make me?! My dear, I know everything about your magic! I'm the only one that can use them fully!" Dr. Sterling said.
"No, you don't. It's my magic, and it's time for me to stop being selfish." Levina said before turning and punching a nearby robot.
It was overloaded and exploded, shocking everyone.
"What are you doing?!" Dr. Sterling asked.
"Protecting my home. As the Genie Guardian!" Levina said, summoning her electricity over her body.
She sent out a huge field of electricity all over the town, making many robots stop working, and some of them exploded.
"WHAT?!" Dr. Sterling shouted.
"I'm not the same girl you knew three years ago. I use to call you my friend, but now. You're nothing more than a selfish brat that never cares for anyone but herself!" Levina said, a little drain from her electricity field attacked.
"You! I'm not through yet!" Dr. Sterling shouted before pulling out a remote and pushing the button.
Soon a bigger robot slams down, and Dr. Stearling laughs.
"Behold! The All-Terrain, All Terror, Crusher Robot!" She said.
Dr. Sterling steps back as the robot got ready to attack.
"Mayor, get out of here!" Levina told him, ready to fight.
The Mayor looks ready to stop her, but he sighs and nods.
"Very well." He said before leaving.
Levina looks at the robot before narrowly her eyes.
"Let's Zap!" She said.
The Robot brought its fist down, but Levina dodges it. It turns and opens its mouth fires some fire. She black flips out of the way before noticing something. Its legs look to be a bit rusty. With a smirk, and remember how she would trash things in Sterling's lab. She summons some lighting to her hands, and ran towards the robot. It saw her and tries to punch her, but Levina was ready.
"ZAP!" She shouted before dodging the fists and punching the legs.
The legs started to give, and the robot had a had time standing up. It soon fell backward and explodes when it hit the ground. Luckily it wasn't very big, and no one was hurt.
"NOOOOO!" Dr. Sterling shouted, seeing her greatest creation being defeated.
Levina shakes her hands to try to ease the pain, forgetting how hard metal could be at times. She faces Dr. Sterling and smirks.
"This town is under my protection. If you want this town, you have to beat me, the town Genie Guardian!" Levina said, ready to fight once again.
"Curse you! This hasn't been the last time you've seen Dr. Sterling!" She shouted before running away.
Levina sighs and heard some cheering. She turns around and saw all the townspeople cheering for her. It really surprised her. She was so used to people ignoring her. So she was unsure of what to do. The Mayor walks up and smiles.
"What made you change your mind?" He asked.
Levina blush and looks down.
"This town. Even if the people ignore me, I wasn't going to let anything happen to this town. It's all I got left." She said, not seeing the Mayor smile.
"Levina, I wouldn't have offered you the role if I didn't think you could handle it. I was also waiting for you to decide when you want to. I'm more than happy to have you as the Town Genie Guardian." The Mayor said before turning to the townspeople.
"And I think they would want you as the guardian as well." He added.
Levina smiles and nods. Glad that people are now seeing her for who she was. Plus, it would be nice to play some more pranks on them.
And that's Levina's life. Unlike Shantae's and Glacia's life, she wasn't a Genie Guardian until after she fought Dr. Sterling. Also, the fight with the Big Robot would be longer if this was a game. But, I wanted to show that Levina is more than a prankster. Well, up next is Shantae, and she will start her adventure of finding Glacia and Levina. And if this story works out, as more people read and review this, I'll see about adding more half-genies. About two more at least, and maybe their villains as well. That's all up to you people.
SargentEpsilon, Pokemon had nothing to do with this idea. It was an idea that appears in my head after playing Seven Sirens.
