Elena groggily awoke and looked around. She saw Chloe still knocked out on the bed next to her and Ben sitting in a chair by the end of the bed, sleeping. She gasped and sat up frantically. Elena looked around for a way out and stared at the front door. She reached over to wake Chloe, who looked up at her groggily.

"Elena?" Elena quickly placed her hand over her twin's mouth and looked at Ben. Chloe followed her gaze to the young vampire. Elena pointed at the door and they both, quietly, slid off the beds. Elena stepped over Ben's outstretched leg and joined Chloe next to the door. Chloe unlocked the deadbolt on the door as Elena kept her eyes on Ben. Chloe turned the lock on the door and prepared to open it when she froze.

"I wouldn't." the twins gasped and spun around to see Ben inches from them and he tried using his compulsion on Elena.

"Don't try to escape. Take your sister's arm and move yourselves to the beds. Do you understand?"

"I understand." Ben scoffed and turned away from us. Elena and Chloe shared a look before Chloe quickly opened the front door, ready to bolt with her sister, but Anna was blocking her escape. Anna grabbed the girls by the hair and pushed them back into the motel room.

"Seriously?!" Anna asked Ben.

"I told her not to move! I did that eye thing that you taught me!" Ben tried defending himself.

"And forgot the lesson about vervain! She dates a vampire, Ben. Duh!" Anna pointed out as she moved the girls into the bathroom.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Elena asked. Chloe was still suffering from the blood Damon had forced into her the night before.

"Does it matter?" Anna asked her before pushing them into the bathroom and shutting the door. Chloe hit her head on the sink and slid down to the ground. Elena was immediately at her side to make sure she would be okay. Once she was sure of her sister's safety, Elena flipped the light switch and calmly searched the room. When she turned to the tub and gasped at the sight of Bonnie inside, unconscious. Elena rushed to her side and tried to rouse her.

"Bonnie?" Elena lifted Bonnie's head. "Oh my god!"

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon was in the study, reading through Emily's grimoire when Stefan entered the room with an anxious look on his face.

"Anna took Elena and Chloe," Stefan told him.

"Yeah, I got that from your 600 voicemails," Damon said as Stefan strode across the room to him.

"Damon, all night long, every single street in town, I've been searching. What if your blood hasn't passed out of Chloe's system?" Stefan asked him.

"Well, then at least I know I'll see her again," Damon commented.

"Please." Stefan sat down on the sofa next to Damon. "What do you know? You were with Anna, you must know where's she living. Just tell me where I can find her."

"Nope. You can go. Really." Damon told him, finally looking up at him.

"You know, all I can remember is hating you. There might have been a time when that was different, but your choices have erased anything good about you." Damon laid the grimoire down and gave his full attention to Stefan. "But see, I also know you have just as much reason to hate me. This all began with me. Anna got taken away from you because of me. And I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted."

"So please, just tell me what you know."

"Huh."

"It's Elena, Damon." Stefan pleaded. "If you know something, tell me." Damon stood up and Stefan mimicked him, looking at his older brother with anxiety.

"I mean this sincerely." Stefan nodded, anticipating Damon's answer. "I hope Elena dies while Chloe walks through that door." Damon walked past Stefan, leaving the room.

Elena wet a cloth in the sink and placed it on Bonnie's forehead. Chloe slowly made her way to the pair as Bonnie opened her eyes.

"Bonnie?" Elena called to her quietly.

"Elena?" Bonnie asked confused.

"Oh, you're okay!" Elena said happily to her best friend.

"My head..." Bonnie held her head in her hand.

"Ditto, but I'm positive it's for a different reason," Chloe told her.

"Come here." Elena helped Bonnie sit upright as Bonnie remembered something.

"Oh my god! Ben is a-!"

"Shhhh." Elena gestured at her ear and pointed towards the door. "They can hear." Elena got up and turned on the tap before kneeling back down between Chloe and Bonnie.

"I'm so stupid!" Bonnie's face scrunched up near tears.

"No, he had all of us fooled!" Elena tried comforting her.

"What's going on? Why are we here?" Bonnie asked.

"It must have something to do with the tomb and Emily's spellbook," Elena said looking at me.

"Spellbook?" Bonnie asked looking at us confused.

"Damon said it could be used to open the tomb," Chloe told her.

"Why didn't I know about any of this?" Bonnie asked us confused.

"I was trying to keep you out of it, hoping it would never come to this," Elena told her.

"Come to what?" Bonnie asked.

"They have the spellbook, and only a witch can use it to break the spell and let the vampires out," Chloe told her

"No way!" Bonnie refused.

"I know."

"But why do you think we're here?" Chloe asked giving them both a look. Suddenly, Ben burst through the door and Elena jumped to wrap Bonnie in a protective embrace. Ben went to turn off the water.

"You're wasting your time. I'm not gonna help you." Bonnie told him. Ben smiled devilishly and grabbed me. Elena tried to reach out and pull Chloe back to her, but Ben kept her away from them.

"That's why they're here. Motivation for you to behave." Ben explained to her. "You know, you shouldn't be so desperate. You made it too easy." Ben pushed Chloe out of the room, roughly. Bonnie got up from the tub and the girls tried going for him as he shut the bathroom door. "She wants to talk to you." He pushed her onto the bed and Chloe looked up at see a girl leaning against a table.

"Well, well. Chloe Gilbert. You really are Anna's doppelgänger. You must have the Damon reeling." she said looking and Chloe just looked up at her.

"And you are... who?"

"I'm Anna. Your brother may have mentioned me. I mean, we're like, practically dating." She said the last bit with girlish sarcasm.

"Well, that's not creepy."

Jeremy was sitting at a table at the Grill, doing his homework. Tyler is shooting pool while Matt cleaned a table, talking to him.

"Ten kegs? You know how much damage we could do with ten kegs? Duke's got it all hooked up." Tyler told him.

"Duke's a douche," Matt said.

"Yeah, a douche with ten kegs. Aka, my new best friend." Tyler told him making Jeremy scoff. "What's the problem, Gilbert?"

"Don't have one, Lockwood," Jeremy told him.

"Yeah, I didn't think so."

"Do you ever get bored of it?" Matt asked Tyler

"Of what?" Tyler asked him confused.

"Yourself." Matt walked off and Jeremy laughed quietly. Tyler threw Jeremy a look.

"Keep laughing, buddy." Caroline walked into the Grill and immediately went to Jeremy.

"Hey, Jeremy. Where is Elena and Chloe? I've been texting her and Bonnie all day about Duke's party." Caroline complained.

"Uh, she went somewhere with Stefan," Jeremy told her.

"I am so not going to be one of those girls who disappears just because she has a new boyfriend." Caroline sighed.

"Who is Duke?" Jeremy finally asked.

"Some guy that graduated a couple of years ago. And he throws a party every time he comes home from Duke." Caroline explained.

"Wait, Duke goes to Duke?" Jeremy laughed.

"His real name's Bob or something." Jeremy laughed quietly. "He's a total ass. But he buys the beer. You know, you should come."

"Uh, yeah, I - I don't think so." Jeremy denied the invitation.

"No, seriously. Everyone goes. Even quiet loner little brothers." Caroline told him before seeing Matt. "Think about it." Caroline made her way to Matt, stopping him in his tracks. "Hey!"

"Hey."

"So, I have a speech. It is fully scripted and well-rehearsed. Are you ready for it?" She asked him.

"You wrote a speech?" Matt laughed.

"Yes. It's a "You kissed me and I don't want things to be weird" speech. It's preemptive." Caroline explained.

"Preemptive?" Mat chuckled.

"Yeah, you know, in case you were having second thoughts or regrets, or were, like, ooged out-"

"Ooged, huh?" Matt teased her.

"Can I just get on with the speech part?"

"Yeah, go for it."

"So I know that you don't think that this is going to work out between us. I just want to let you know that right here and right now, I'm offering you an out. Like an escape clause."

"Why are you giving me an escape clause?" Matt asked her confused.

"I don't wanna make assumptions about what it is we're doing here."

"Got it."

"So, if you would like to exercise it, just let me know."

"I'm good, but thanks." He assured her.

"Okay. Good." Caroline smiled, taking a silent breath of relief.

"Yeah."

"So, see you for Duke's tonight."

"Yeah." He smiled before going back to work. Caroline left, laughing happily.

At the elder Bennet Witch's house, Damon knocked on the front door. Sheila opened it surprised at who she saw on the other side.

"Yes?"

"Hi there. I'm, uh, looking for Bonnie."

"She's not here."

"Oh, well do you know when she-"

"Never." Sheila interrupted.

"You have quite an opinion for someone who doesn't know me." Damon chuckled.

"You got some nerve knocking on a Bennett witch's door and asking her for anything," Sheila told him.

"What'd I do?" Damon asked mocking his confusion.

"Spirits talk, Mr. Salvatore, and so does my granddaughter. You are no friend to us. Now get off my porch." Sheila ordered and Damon took a threatening step forward.

"Step outside and say that." Sheila stared at Damon. Suddenly, Damon groaned and held his head which felt like it was exploding. Damon started to back away and Sheila stepped out onto the porch.

"I am not Bonnie. You don't wanna mess with me." Sheila went back into her house and slammed the door shut. She leaned on the door inside, breathing heavily.

Anna peered out the curtain, looking outside at the motel room.

"Bonnie's not gonna open the tomb," Chloe told Anna. "She's not strong enough on her own."

"Oh, I think she will be," Anna told me.

"Do you really want Katherine and Anna out that bad?" She asked her genuinely curious and she looked over at Chloe.

"Trust me. No one I know wants to see those girls again. Except Damon, the lovestruck idiot."

"Then what is it?" Chloe asked her and she looked away from her. "Make that who is it?"

"My mother's in there." Anna moved closer to Chloe. "Anna and Katherine couldn't help themselves. They just had to toy around with both of the Salvatore brothers. And when they got caught, so did my mother. I watched Johnathan Gilbert take her away."

"Then the two of you should have left when you'd had the chance," Chloe told her and she gave her a look. "Maybe then she'd still be here instead of a corpse in a tomb." She wrapped her hand around my throat and squeezed tighter.

"I could kill you in an instant and no one would blink an eye," she whispered to her. "But I need you to start serving your purpose." She threw Chloe back onto the bed and she held her throat staring up at her.

"And what purpose would that be?" Chloe asked her in a raspy voice.

"Leverage. This belong to you?" Anna held up my phone. Chloe glared at her, and Anna smirked looking through it. Anna walked across the room, finding the name she was looking for and calling it. The phone rang and Stefan picked up the other end at the Boarding House.

"Chloe? Where's Elena? Are you two okay?" he asked and Anna smirked.

"They're fine. For now. Tell me you have the grimoire and they'll stay fine." Damon entered the room with Stefan and leaned against the door frame of the study as Stefan thought of his answer.

"I can get it."

"Which means your brother has it. And I have the witch. So one of you had better meet me in the very public town square in 30 minutes so we can safely discuss how fun it's gonna be to work together." Anna hung up and Stefan looked back at his brother at the Boarding House.

"Go ahead. Grovel again. Oh, wait, no...I don't care." Damon left the room, having already decided what to do.

Back at the motel room, Anna knocked on the bathroom door.

"I'm leaving." Ben opened the door to the bathroom and led Bonnie and Elena out. "Keep them buttoned down. Compulsion won't work. Just use violence."

"Right. I got that." Ben said before she left while pushing the girls on the bed. Elena checked Chloe over and she just nodded at her twin. "Sit. Behave." Ben turned to Bonnie with a smirk on his face. "So you're the key to this. Literally. The one who opens the door. Tell me, how long have you been a witch?"

"Is there anything to drink here?" Chloe asked getting his attention off Bonnie.

"Are you offering?" he asked getting up and walking over to her. She stared him down and he smirked at her. "There's water on the nightstand." Elena grabbed the glass of water for Chloe and as she started to take a drink, Bonnie stopped her.

"Hey. Can I have a sip?" Chloe pulled the glass away from her mouth and stared at Bonnie. Bonnie just looked at her and she understood what she wanted to do. Chloe handed the glass over. She took it and tossed the water on Ben. Ben stared at her weird before Bonnie turned the water into fire, making him yell and try to extinguish the flames. The three of them got up and started for the door. Bonnie made it to the door and opened it, ready to run out, but Ben grabbed Elena before she was able to get to Bonnie and stood between Chloe and the door.

"Come back in! Shut the door!" Ben ordered. Bonnie slid back into the room.

"Don't hurt her!"

"Don't make me!" Bonnie shut the door behind her "Lock it!" Bonnie turned and deadbolted the door.

In the Town Spuare, Jeremy saw Anna walking from the Grill and ran to meet her.

"Anna! Hey-uh, what happened to you last night?" Jeremy asked her.

"Sorry, I had to leave. I told your sisters to tell you." Anna lied while looking for wither Damon or Stefan.

"I haven't seen them." Jeremy told her.

"Well, I gotta run, so-" Anna turned to leave, but Jeremy stopped her.

"Hey, do you wanna go to a party tonight?"

"Go to what?"

"Oh, the guy who's throwing it is a total douche, but it's supposed to be fun. I figured, you know, safety in numbers." Jeremy suggested.

"So, you're finally ready to go out with me, are you?" Anna chuckled.

"It's been a while since I've been to a party, and I kind of want to get back out there. And not be such a - a loner. And, uh, I like you. You're fun, and you're also kind of strange and lurky but, uh, I guess I like that, too. So, yeah, you should come to the party. With me. It's in the woods by that old cemetery." he revealed and her mind realed at the possibility.

"Oh. It's there, huh? That sounds cool. Uh, I'll meet you."

"Oh. Okay! Great." Anna started to walk away with Jeremy watching her.

"Cool."

"Okay." Anna glanced back at him as he left. Anna sat down on a bench, waiting and looking around. Suddenly, Damon appeared next to her, sitting on the bench.

"Got a hot date or are you just plan on nabbing the entire Gilbert family?" he asked her.

"A party, right next to the old cemetery. Isn't that nice of them? Lots of warm bodies for starving vampires." Anna said, reminding them of their common goal.

"I told you. I had all the help I needed."

"Yeah, and now I have her. Look, your minus a witch and I'm minus a spellbook. So what do you say?"

"Stefan will come after you, you know that. For messing with the twins." Damon warned.

"Then he won't be to happy if I kill them when I don't get what I want." Anna thretened getting up and starting back to the Motel. Damon scrunched up his face and sighed.

"When do you want to do this?" Anna smiled and turned around, laughing at Damon.

"God, it's like 1864 all over again. You Salvatores are truly pathetic when it comes to women. Tonight. After sundown. Meet at the church." Anna told him before leaving him alone.

The three girls were sitting back on the beds in the motel room as Ben paced in front of them.

"Witches don't have eternal life, right? So you guys can die." Ben noted.

"Yep. We can die." Bonnie confirmed.

"Ah. That sucks." Ben smirked. All of a sudden, Stefan kicked the door in making Ben scream as the sunlight started to burn his skin. Stefan ripped the curtain open, allowing more sunlight to pour in. Ben hid in the dark between the two beds and the three girls moved away from where he was.

"Stefan!" Bonnie and Chloe got up and dashed out the door, but Elena stopped in front of Stefan.

"Let's get outside!" Stefan walked over to Ben, looking down at him as Elena waited for him by the door. "When the sun goes down, leave town. If I ever see you again, I will kill you." Stefan joined his girlfriend and together they left the motel room.

At the Bennet house, Bonnie and Sheila were sitting at a table, conversing, while Stefan Chloe and Elena were talking in another room.

"How did you know where we were?" Bonnie asked Sheila.

"Many things can fuel a witches power. Worry. Anger. After Stefan told me they had taken you, I had a lot of both. Simple locater spell was easy after that." Sheila explained to her granddaughter.

"I'm sorry. About all of this."

"Not as sorry as they're gonna be." Sheila told her with a smirk on her face as the other three entered the room.

"So what do we do now?" Elena asked her.

"Well, for now, you need to stay here." Stefan told the four of them.

"A prisoner, in my own home? I don't think so." Sheila denied.

"I can't protect you if you leave the house." Stefan tried explaining to her.

"We'll protect ourselves."

"We need to let him have Anna back. He's not going to stop until he gets her. If we help him, maybe that ends it." Elena told them.

"No! He doesn't deserve to get what he wants." Bonnie deied.

"What other choice do we have?" Elena asked looking up at Stefan.

"Anna won't go without Katherine." Stefan explained.

"Then we let him have both." Chloe told them looking them all in the eye.

"Witches being pulled down by vampire problems. As much as we tried to do to stay out of it. I'll open the tomb. You get your brother's girl and her sister and destroy the rest with fire. Then this will be all over." Sheila told Stefan.

"We still have to get Damon to agree." Stefan reminded them.

"He already agreed once." Elena reminded him.

"Yeah, and then we double-crossed him. So now he's angry." Stefan said.

"He's hurt." I corrected drawing them all to me. "There's a difference. I can get him to agree to the terms." Elena and Stefan shared a look before nodding their heads.

Anna walked back up to the motel room and froze when she saw the door wide open and she was missing three hostages.

"You've got to be kidding me." Anna walked in and looked over at Ben, who was still crouched between the two beds, his hoodie over his head.

"It was Stefan. There was nothing I could -"

"Shut up!" Anna held up her finger at him. "Stop talking." She rubbed her face with her hands and sat in the chair. "Without the witch, we don't have Damon or the grimoire. Damon's not gonna stop. He'll find a way in. And we're gonna be there when he does."

At the Boarding House, Damon was putting on his jacket, preparing to leave when Chloe entered the room. She smiled at him as he looked up at her.

"You stage a jailbreak?" he asked smirking as he picked up the grimoire and walked up to her.

"Stefan." She answered before hugging him.

"Ah, brother. Ever the white knight." Damon released the hug. "Means I don't have to kick anyones ass to get you after the spell went down tonight."

"I convinced Bonnie and Sheila to help you." Chloe told him.

"How?"

"Elena actually suggested that we give you Anna and Stefan reminded them how Anna wouldn't leave town without Katherine and I told them to let you have both of them." she told him. "All you have to do is leave town with the twins and let us burn the other 26 vampires."

"Anna knows we're going to get Anna and Katherine which means she'll be there." Damon noted thinking it through. "She won't let us burn her mother."

"Then we either give her her mother or she burns with her." Chloe said and he looked at her.

"You sure you're okay with this?" he asked her and she looked at him confused.

"What do you mean?"

"You seemed very happy with my staying. Will you be okay with my going?" he asked her confused.

"I'm your friend, Damon. That's it." Chloe reminded him. "I want you to get what you want." Damon placed the grimoire on a table next to them and cressed her cheek with his finger.

"We could be more than just friends." Chloe took in a shaky breath she hoped Damon didn't notice, yet knew he did.

"Your getting Anna back tonight." Chloe reminded him. "You really want to go to her knowing you had sex with her doppleganger?"

"Would you want this?" he asked again.

"I wouldn't be able to keep this." she whispered before smiling up at him.

"One last day then." he whispered.

"One last day." Chloe took off her vervain soaked bracelet and placed it next to the grimoire.

"One last day." Damon kissed Chloe softly at first before passion and feelings took over and he pushed her, gently, into a wall. Chloe wrapped her legs around his waist and he used his vampire speed to remove her shirt and his.

That night, Chloe and Damon arrived at the party in the woods and saw over a dozen students drinking and chatting.

"Right, the Duke party. I forgot." she said looking around. "Think they'll stay away from the church?"

"Do we care?" Damon asked when Matt and Caroline walked up to us.

"Chloe, hey!"

"Chloe! Oh my God, where have you been?" Caroline intertwined her fingers with Matt's and I raised a brow at the action.

"Long story, no time to tell it." Damon told her.

"I wasn't talking to you." Caroline snarked.

"Sure you were." Damon corrected.

"Be nice." Chloe told him and I threw her a look that she almost laughed at.

"We haven't met. I'm Matt." Matt held out his hand for Damon to shake, which he ignored.

"Matt, there's a reason we haven't met. You and I are going that way." Damon grabbed Chloe's hand and started dragging her away.

"Catch you guys later." Chloe called back to them with them watching as we left.

Stefan climbed up from the tomb with a shovel in hand to Elena, Bonnie and Sheila.

"Cleared the debris away. Set the torches like you asked. We can get down now." Stefan placed the shovel against a rock and leaned down to mess with the cans of gasoline lying near by causing Bonnie and Elean to look at them.

"What is that?" Bonnie asked curiously.

"It's everything I need to destroy them." Stefan handed his flashlight to Elena who held it for him to see.

"Are you sure that Damon will come back with her?" Sheila asked him. Behind them, Damon whistled and they turned to look at the pair walking to them.

"Brother. Witches. Elena." Chloe and Damon stode past them with the grimoire in one hand and the other still holding onto Chloe's. Damon descended the stairs of into the tomb with Chloe behind him.

"Everything okay?" Stefan asked when he saw the look on Elena's face.

"I just want to get this over with. Are we ready?" Elena asked.

"I guess so." Bonnie nodded.

Back at the Duke party, Tyler and another guy were engaging in a beer chugging contest. Tyler won and slammed his cup down on the ground.

"Done!" Tyler spotted Jeremy arriving at the party. "I'll be right back." he made his way over to Jeremy and stood in front of him. "Hey man, uh, you got any weed?"

"Wait, you're kidding me, right? You act like a total dick every time we cross paths, and - and now you wanna party with me?" Jeremy asked him amazed at the turn of events.

"Lighten up, Gilbert. I'm just asking you a question." Tyler told him.

"Look, I don't get you man."

"It's a party. You're a partyer. There's no need to psychoanalyze it."

"I don't party anymore and even if I did, it wouldn't be with you." Jeremy told him and Tyler started to walk away.

"No problem. Carry on just standing there. By yourself. All alone. The enemy of fun. Do you even have any friends?" Tyler turned around and walked off. Jeremy turned around and Ann was suddenly behind him. Jeremy was startled, but chuckled at the sight of her there.

"Thank God."

"Weird hello but, okay. What's the matter?" Anna asked him.

"Uh, nothing. Nothing, just..." Anna crossed her arms over chest and looked at Jeremy, uncovinced. "It's- nothing."

"Come on, let's walk." Jeremy and Anna walked off with their arms wrapped around each other.

In the tomb, Sheila was lighting the torches with Bonnie next to her and Stefan, Damon, Chloe and Elena watching from the enterance.

"Air. Earth. Fire."

"Water." bonnie held up a water bottle and Sheila took it, sprinkling the water on the floor.

"That's it? Just water from the tap?" Elena asked her.

"As opposed to what?" Sheila asked her.

"I just figured maybe it would have to be blessed or mystical or something." Elena told her and Sheila smirked at her naivety. Damon released Chloe's hand and pulled out a blood bad and unraveled it.

"What's that?" Stefan asked him.

"It's for Anna and Katherine. Gotta have something to get her going. Unless your girl's offering a vein to tap." Damon looked at Elena before smirking at Chloe. Elena looked at him unamused by the joke. Stefan sighed and Damon whispered his next sentence. "Admit it - you can't wait to get rid of me."

"I can't wait to get rid of you." Stefan chuckled.

"Hmm." Bonnie looked up at them from the ground where she'd knelt with Sheila.

"We're ready."

Close to the Duke party, Jeremy was leaning against a tree with Anna standing in front of him.

"This place is wild." Anna said looking around.

"You kinda like dead people, huh?" Jeremy laughed.

"I'm strange, remember? You okay?" Anna asked him seeing his downcast face.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah. This place makes me think about someone." Jeremy confessed.

"A dead someone?"

"No, no, just...someone I used to know. So, uh, hey," he chuckled. "We made it all of what, 37 minutes, in that party?"

"Not your scene?" Anna smiled and laughed as Jeremy pushed himself into a standing position.

"I'm not really sure what my scene is anymore. So what do you say? You, uh, you wanna be part of my non-scene?" Jeremy asked her.

"I would happily be a part of your non-scene, except, uh, I'm leaving." she told him.

"Wait, what?" Jeremy asked confused.

"Yeah. My mom and I are moving away."

"Oh. Uh- that's-that's a bummer."

"Yeah?" Anna asked him.

"Well, yeah."

"So, guess this is goodbye." Anna said.

"I guess it is." Jeremy agreed. The two leaned into each other and shared a kiss. When Anna pulled away, her face was transforming. Jeremy looked at her alarmed. "Anna, your face! Anna quickly turned around.

"It's nothing." she tried assuring him.

"It didn't look like nothing." Jeremy told her before Ben hit him from behind. Anna turned to watch him fall to the ground, unconscious.

"You didn't have to hit him that hard." she sighed.

"Yes, I did." Ben insisted.

"Grab him and lets go. I'm taking him to meet my mother."

At the party, Matt was leaning against a tree with a beer in his hand when Tyler snuck up and swiped the beer out of his hand.

"Swoop!" Tyler took a drink.

"Hey!" Matt smiled at him.

"Aah. Where's your date?" Tyler asked him.

"Who knows?" Matt sighed.

"Aww, is the honeymoon over already?" Tyler teased.

"Maybe."

"After all that grief you gave me about liking her. I figured it would have lasted longer than five minutes."

"Look, I just - I don't know if I can do the whole public couple thing. She - she seems like she might be a little clingy." Matt told him.

"Well, good. I need my boy single anyway." Tyler patted Matt's arm before looking beyond him. "Ohh, incoming." Matt looked at see Caroline approach them with a smile on her face.

"Hey! There you are."

"Here I am." Matt smiled at her.

"Yeah, well, I'm not drunk enough. So I'm just gonna go get another beer." Tyler turned and left the couple alone.

"So..." Caroline dropped her sentence.

"So."

"I have another speech."

"Okay." Matt almost laughed.

"The hand thing, with Chloe, it was lame. Well, I was lame. And, hey, your feelings for Elena aside, Damon was there, and he was always such a jerk to me. And I wanted to show off that I was with a good guy. So, anyway, I was lame. So, forgiven?" Caroline almost begged.

"Yeah, of course. Yeah." Caroline smiled her relief.

At the tomb, The two vampires and human teens watched as Bonnie and Sheila recited a spell at the tomb, their eyes shut and hands interlocked.

"What are they saying?" Damon asked finally.

"Sounds Latin." Stefan told him.

"I don't think it's Latin." Elena told them.

"Maybe some Latin thrown in." Chloe added. A few more seconds of the witches reciting the spell and the torches flared up scaring Elena, who grabbed onto Stefan's arm.

"What's happening?" Elena asked before the door to the tomb creaked open. Sheila and Bonnie stopped chanting and looked up.

"It worked!" Bonnie said happily.

"Of course it worked." Sheila told her as they both stared at the open door.

"Don't you have some fires to build?" Damon asked Stefan who looked to Elena and gently touched her shoulder.

"I'm gonna go get the gasoline, I'll be right back." Elena nodded and Stefan ascended the stairs out of the tomb. Damon looked from Bonnie and Sheila to Chloe.

"You ready?" he asked her.

"What?" Elena asked stunned which drew everyone attention.

"You think I'm gonna go in there by myself so you can seal me in?" Damon asked grabbing Chloe's hand.

"Don't take her in. I'll bring the walls down." Sheila warned him.

"You'll bring the walls down if I don't. You think I trust you?" Damon asked her.

"As much as I trust you." Sheila confessed.

"Well now that that's established." Chloe said drawing their eyes to her. "He needs to know that you're not going to shut the door when he gets inside and for that he needs leverage. I'll go." Damon grabbed a torch from the circle and returned to Chloe's side.

"May I?" Chloe nodded to Elena, Sheila and Connie, reassuringly and followed Damon into the tomb.

Stefan ran over to the gasoline and started to gather the cans up. Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke to him.

"Dark down there?" Stefan straightened up, looking at Ben, Jeremy unconscious at his feet.

"Thought I told you to leave."

"I considered it. Then I thought, screw you."

"Hey, hero." Stefan turned to see Anna standing at the entrance to the tomb where the others waited for him. "I'm going down there to get my mother."

"I can't let you do that."

"Well, Ben's about to make a main course out of Elena and Chloe's little brother. So, you can stop me or him. Your choice." Anna used to vamp-speed and ran into the tomb while Stefan was occupied with Ben.

Damon and Chloe were down in the tomb, searching for Anna and Katherine when we heared whispers throughout the tomb.

"What is that?" Chloe asked looking around in the darkness.

"They can sense you. Now, where is she?" Damon walked away, leaving Chloe behind.

"Damon!" Chloe called after him and the whispers grew."Great..."

Anna descends the stairs into the tomb causing Bonnie to look over at her.

"Hey, you're not going in there!" Bonnie blocked her and Anna grabbing Elena as she went.

"Try and stop me, and I'll kill her." Anna warned.

"Bonnie..." Bonnie looked at her grandmother before stepping aside. Anna held onto Elena as she grabbed a flashlight from the ground and ran into the tomb. Once they were out of sight, Bonnie turned to Sheila, angered.

"Why did you let her go in?"

"Because she isn't coming out, baby. None of them are." Bonnie looked at her confused.

Above the tomb, Stefan and Ben stared at each other.

"Do you really think that she cares about you? Hm? You're disposable." Stefan told Ben.

"I don't care. She already gave me what I want." Ben said.

"Are you going to say "eternal life"? You really that stupid?" Stefan asked him as Ben moved closer to him.

"You know, I've heard about you. You don't feed. You're not strong enough to beat me." Ben told him smirking. Ben rushed at Stefan, but Stefan thrust his arm out, easily knocking Ben to the ground. Stefan picked up the hose connected to the gasoline can. Ben got up and looked at Stefan. "Is that all you got?"

"No. I got this." Stefan ignited the torch and set Ben on fire causing the younger vampire to scream and flail around before finally falling to the ground, dead.

Back in the tomb, Chloe was still searching for Damon after he'd ditched her.

"Damon?" Chloe whispered looking around with her light. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." she continued to hear the whispering and swallowed in fear. Chloe tripped over something, but quickly stood back up, her flashlight beam landing on one of the mummified vampires. As she walked around the room, she saw more and more vampires. Trying not to panic, Chloe moved a little quicker before falling next to one of the mummified vampires, her bean landing on him and she gasped in shock and fear. The vampire's eyes opened and were bloodshot with hunger. Chloe slammed her hand over her mouth to stifle the scream before standing and looking for an exit. Her beam of light landed on Anna and Elena, who was standing right behind her.

After killing Ben, Stefan walked back down into the tomb and looked around.

"Where's Chloe and Elena?" he asked confused.

"Damon took Chloe inside and Anna took Elena." Bonnie told him.

"What?!" Stefan ran towards the entrance of the tomb, but Sheila grabbed his arm to stop him.

"Stefan! If you go in there, you won't come out." she warned.

"What did you do?" he asked her.

"Opening the door didn't remove the seal, it just opened the door." she explained.

"What's the seal?"

"Some seals keep vampires from entering. This one keeps them from coming out."

"Elena and Chloe are humans. She can leave. Anna and Katherine can't. Damon can't. You were never planning on breaking the spell, were you?" Stefan realized.

"I told you. I will protect my own. Elena and Chloecan get out. That's all that matters." Sheila told him backing towards her granddaughter.

Anna stepped towards Chloe pulling Elena with her, shining her flashlight on teen.

"You must have a taste for it. You scream and shriek and even bother to escape, but then you just come right back to it." Chloe walked backwards and bumped into another mummified vampire. Anna saw who it was and knelt down next to her, caressing her arm.

"Mother! Mother. Your boyfriends did this, you know." Anna glared up at the girls.

"His father did." Elena corrected before Anna stood and faced the twins.

"And Johnathan Gilbert. I made a choice a long time ago that it would be Gilbert blood that brought her back to life. I had Jeremy all ready to go but..." Elena gasped and turned around, bolting from the room with Chloe behind her. Anna vamp-sped in front of them and grabbed Elena by the wrist and bit down making Elena scream loudly.

"Elena!"

"Stay put." Anna ordered. "I'll need you next."

In the ante-chamber, the witches and Stefan heard the screams echoing through the tomb. Stefan dashed into the tomb with Bonnie chasing after him.

"Stefan!" Sheila blocked Bonnie from entering the tomb and gave her a look. "You can't just leave him in there, Grams!"

"He made his choice!"

"No. Here." Bonnie picked up the grimoire and looked desperately at her grandmother. "Just show me what to do. I'll do it."

"We are not strong enough. Even if we were able to bring the seal down, there's no guarantee that we could get it back up again." Sheila warned her.

"You said it yourself, many things can fuel a witches power. Help me or I'll do it alone."

Anna pushed Elena down on the ground, across her mother's lap, and held Elena's wrist up to her mouth. She made sure to have a firm hold on Chloe who was just trying not to get bitten by another vampire. Pearl, smelling the blood, begins to drink from the teens wrist.

"No, please don't!" Elena begged as Pearl was finally able to move and grab onto her wrist.

"I'm gonna get you out." Anna assured her before Stefan ran in.

"Let them go!" Stefan grabbed Anna and pushed her aside.

"No!" Stefan grabbed Elena and pulled her up, pusing her towards the exit before grabbing Chloe and doing the same.

"Go. Go. I'm right behind you." As the girls ran Stefan blocked Anna from chasing them down.

"Anna." Anna turned and rushed to her mother's side, caressing her face in her hands and crying happily. "Annabelle."

When Chloe and Elena made their way to the enterance to the tomb they saw Bonnie and Sheila looking through the grimoire.

"Chloe, Elena, Stefan..." Bonnie tried telling her.

"He's right behind us." Elena told them. Bonne and Sheila looked at the enterance of the tomb and the twins turned to see Stefan standing in the doorway. Elena walked up to him, worried. "Stefan, what are you doing?"

"It's gonna be okay. We'll fix it." Bonnie assured her.

"What is it?" Elena asked him.

"I can't." Stefan tried telling her.

"Can't? Can't what?" Elena asked getting more confused.

"The spell's still up. We can't get them out yet." Bonnie told her.

"You went in there not knowing if you could come back out?" Elena asked him but he just looked down, not answering. "Oh, my God."

"I heard you scream." he told her.

"We can't leave him in there." Chloe said drawing the two of them to look at her. "I promised him. So did you. Both of you."

"I know." Stefan nodded to her.

"Even if we're able to break through the seal, we won't be able to hold it for long." Sheila told him and he went back into the tomb to find Damon.

Inside the tomb, Damon was still searching for Annd and her sister. Frustrated, he kicked the dirt on the floor.

"She's not here." Damon said angrily as Stefan walked up to him.

"Damon."

"She's not here."

"What?" Damon pulled out the blood bag.

"She's not here!" He threw the blood bag at the wall. The blood splattered across it and looked at his brother with anguish.

Sheila and Bonnie were standing again and reciting the spell to lift the seal as Elena circled around them. The torches flared up and Elena looked towards the tomb.

"I think it's working." Elena told them as she saw someone coming closer. Chloe pulled her away when they saw it was Anna with her mother, who was still weak.

"I just wanted my mother back. Jeremy's fine. He's outside. I won't touch him." Anna promised as she and Pearl left the area.

"You do and I'll stake the two of you myself." Chloe warned her and Anna just looked back at them and nodded before speeding away. Chloe looked to see the torches begin to falter.

"Bonnie, keep going!" Sheila told her before turning to the twins. "They better hurry."

"Stefan, they can't hold it much longer!" Elena called into the tomb. Chloe watched the torches extinguish themselves and Boonie look faint and took off into the tomb. "Chloe!"

"Damon, we need to get out of here." Stefan told him.

"It doesn't make sense. They locked her inside." Damon rambled.

"If we don't leave now, we're not getting out."

"How could she not be in here?"

"It's not worth spending all of eternity down here. She's not worth it!"

"No!" Damon angrily pushed Stefan away as Chloe found them.

"Damon!" Damon stared at her. "Please." she held out her hand for him to take. He took a quick moment before grabing her hand and following her out of the tomb with Stefan behind them.

Bonnie and Sheila were still chanting the spell to keep the seal down as Elena paced the area in front of the door. Bonnie stopped for a moment, gasping for air and knelt over.

"Oh my God. I can't!" Boonie gasped.

"Yes, you can." Sheila held her up and, unknown to Bonnie, took most of the spell on herself. they continued chanting as Chloe made her exit hand in hand with Damon. Elena hugged Stefan the moment he was out of the tomb and the door shut behind them as the torches finally died out.

At the party in the woods, Caroline was talking with a group of friends, when she looked over at Matt, who was leaning against his truck and they smiled at each other. Caroline walked over to him.

"Is this for real?" Matt asked her.

"Is what for real?" she asked him confused.

"You being all cool and honest and open?" Caroline walked a step closer to Matt.

"Speech number three? I want this to work. And I'm scared that you're gonna change your mind and you're not gonna want it. I don't want to mess it up." she confessed.

"I don't want to mess it up either." The placed their foreheads together and smiled.

Stefan and Elena exited the tomb and ran over to Jeremy, who was waking up.

"He's okay." Stefan assured the twins as Chloe joined them. The couple knelt down next to Jeremy, who groaned. "He's all right." Chloe looked up as Damon exited the tomb, looking completely miserable. She moved from her spot next to her brother and walked to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and placed her head on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry." she whispered. Damon just stood there before finally wrapping his arms around her and placing his head ontop of hers.

At the Bennet house, Sheila walked unsteadily to her room with Bonnie gently grabbing her arms to guide her.

"Hey, let me help you."

"Oh, I'm fine. You don't need to coddle me, baby." Sheila told her smiling.

"It was a big spell, Grams. I could tell it took a lot out of you." Bonnie told her worriedly.

"I'll be fine." Sheila continued to walk unsteadily towards her bed as Bonnie watched her.

Chloe carried a glass of water and an Aspirin into Jeremy's room and handed it to him.

"How's your head feel?" Chloe asked him.

"Uh- it's alright. I just...I wish I knew how I passed out. I didn't drink that much, I swear." Jeremy assured her.

"Don't worry. I believe you." Chloe smiled at him. "Do you remember anything?"

"The whole things pretty cloudy. I just...I know how this looks. I'm - I'm sorry."

"Hey, Jeremy, don't be sorry. You didn't do anything, okay?"

"Yeah, okay."

"Elena's at Bonnie's so it's just you, me and Jenna tongiht. Is there anything that you need?" I asked him getting off his bed.

"No, I'm just...I'm gonna crash."

"Okay, sleep well." Chloe left his room and went to hers. When he heard her door close he got up and went to his computer. He opened up his web browser and googled the word Vampire.

Back at the motel, Pearl and Anna walked in and turned on the light. She and Pearl got a shock when they saw Damon sitting in a chair in the corner of the room.

"You knew Katherine wasn't in there." Damon accused her.

"You wouldn't have helped me." Damon vamp-sped at Pearl and grabbed her by the throat.

"No! No!" Anna begged.

"Why do you get a happy ending?" Anna rushed towards him.

"Damon, please! You wouldn't have helped me, you know you wouldn't have!" Damon grabbed a hold of Anna, restricting her movement.

"Why do you get it and I don't?"

"The guard." Pearl finally spoke. "The one at the church. The one who locked us in. She promised to turn him. He was obsessed with her. She had him under her spell, like everybody else. He let her go." Damon released the women. Anna wrapped her arms around her mother and looked up at him.

"Last I saw her was Chicago, 1983. She knew where you were Damon. She didn't care." Anna told him and she could see Damon was utterly crushed by this new piece of information. "Sorry." Anna embraced Pearl while Damon left the motel room.

Elena was at the Bennet house, talking on the phone with Stefan, who was at the Salvatore house.

"I just got to Bonnie's." Elena told him.

"Everything alright?" Stefan asked him.

"Yeah. How's Damon? Is he gonna be okay?" Elena asked him.

"I don't know." he confessed looking at his brother sitting in front of the fire. "Can I call you later?"

"Yeah, of course."

Stefan walked to Damon and sat next to him as he stared blankly at the fire. The brothers sat in silence, one in pain and the other worried for him.

Bonnie entered Sheila's room carrying a cup of tea for her. Sheila was laying on the bed, her hands on her stomach.

"Here you go, Grams." Bonnie placed the tea on the nightstand and pulled the covers up over Sheila. She smiled down at her grams when she got the feeling something was wrong. "Grams?" Bonnie sat down on the bed and started to shake Sheila, trying to wake her. "Grams! Grams, wake up! Grams! Grams! Elena!" she sobbed, finally understanding what happened to her grandmother. Elena dashed into the room, looking bewildered. "Help! Wake up! She's not breathing! She's just not breathing! Please, wake up!" Elena ran out of the room and grabbed the phone, dialing 911. Bonnie got up and went to the grimoire. "I'm gonna fix it! It's okay, I can fix this!"

"Yes, I need an ambulance to Oak Street. It's an emergency, quick." Bonnie grabbed the grimoire and flipped through the pages, trying to find a spel to bring her grandmother back. Elena walked back into the room and gently grabbed Bonnie's shoulders. "Bonnie...Bonnie."

"No! No! I can fix it! Grams, I can fix this!"

"Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie." Bonnie continued to sob as Elena wrapped her arms around Bonnie, trying to comfor her when she just wanted to join her in her sorrows.

Inside the tomb, blood dripped down the wall towards one of the vampires. His hand slowly moved towards the near empty blood bag and pulled it to him. One of the mummified vampires slowly made his way through the tomb to the door and opened it. He stepped outside and into the sun for the first time in 145 years.
