Okay, i don't know how many people have read this but i've been dying to write this fanfic but like i said, i'm new to this so sorry if it isn't good and sorry it took so long to update this fanfic, the family computer is at my dad's but he said he might have had covid-19 so me and my sisters had to stay at my mum's house, but now I'm back at my dad's so sit down and Enjoy. Oh and i've forgot to mention in the first chapter, i don't own httyd or monster hunter, just the OCs in this story.
Chapter 2: first encounter
"HICCUP!" Astrid called as the duo were spiraling down to the earth, hiccup tried to open up his wing suit but it's jammed from the impact of the new dragon. The duo were getting closer to the ground and toothless quickly grabbed onto his rider and wrapped his wings around the human. Upon impact, toothless rolled over a few meters before coming to a stop when they stopped, toothless unwrapped his wing and let hiccup go, the rider tried to get up but fell over, hiccup was confused until he checked his metal leg to see it's gone, he looked for it and found it lying next to a rock pillar, he then checked his surroundings and saw a massive stone structure leading to a forest in front and a stream of water behind (shrine ruins, area 1), it was quite nice actually with the flowers and the sound of the stream. Toothless helped hiccup up and they walked over to the metal leg before pellets from the aggressive dragon started to fall from the sky, the duo looked up to see the dragon coming down to earth before they caught the scent of smoke from below, they looked down to see the pellets began to glow fiery orange, hiccup knew this isn't good and toothless immediately covered hiccup before the pellets exploded, when the duo recovered they saw the dragon land 10 meters in front of them, Toothless growled at the dragon to stay down to its alpha but the dragon retaliated with an aggressive roar and charged and toothless did the same.
insert "The invading tyrant: rise version" herewhen they collided, it was a battle between two dragons, toothless was biting and clawing at the dragon but was futile as it threw toothless away with its jaws but the night fury got back on his feet and attacked again, he was avoiding the exploding pellets that the dragon dropped while firing plasma blasts at it, only making it angrier. The dragon was getting more angry until its body started to glow the same colour as the pellets and suddenly lunged at him and bit down on the night fury's neck, causing blood to drip from the neck as he roared in pain.
"TOOTHLESS!" hiccup called, only causing the now glowing dragon to turn its head to the human before throwing toothless at him, causing hiccup to dodge, after he dodge, hiccup rushed to his dragon to see the wound and sighed in relief that the bite only left marks that will heal in a few days but will leave some scars behind. The dragon slowly walked to the duo, hissing and growling as toothless slowly got up to continue fighting but hiccup tried to stop him.
"No bud, you can't fight that dragon, it'll kill you" Hiccup said to toothless before he let out a snort. Yes, this dragon is capable of killing him and he knows that and the biting, clawing and plasma blasts he did barely stopped it, he can't even see the battle damage. This dragon obviously isn't normal, its aggression and power makes it more like it's a monster (no pun intended) then a dragon but he was willing to fight for his rider and best friend. The dragon let out a roar and charged at the duo with full speed. toothless readied another plasma blast and was about to fire until…
"IN COMING!"
A young male voice shouted as a large barrel came falling down on the dragon and exploded on impact, making the dragon to jerk back. Hiccup didn't know who that voice belong to but got the answer as a young man dropped down in between the duo and the dragon, hiccup got a good look at this man as he was wearing a purple metal chest piece with a cape with a symbols on it, his gauntlets, coil and leggings were made of a metal and scales of three different kinds of dragon, one dragon for each and was holding a large sword with an icy aura and he had no helmet and had green hair. Hiccup realized this man was a dragon hunter but for some reason he wasn't filled with dread and wasn't hearing his dragon hissing or growling, the hunter and dragon were having a face off and it was silent until the hunter spoke up.
"Okay mr bazleguese, your not my target and i'm in a good mood so i'll give you a choice, you and me fight or you go scurry along and leave this man alone with your tail still intact, either way, i'm not letting you hurt this citizen" he said in a calm voice but the dragon, no, bazleguese responded with a rattling roar and charged at the hunter who just shrugged.
"eh, have it your way" he said before he threw a cyan blue insect and flew in the air.
"This is for my fellow hunters!" He yelled before he slammed his sword onto the bazleguese's head and left a gash as it jerked back but retaliated by knocking him away with its tail, the hunter slammed on a rock pillar as the bazleguese approached the fallen but alive hunter before a dog and a cat came out of nowhere and was attacking the bazleguese with weapons?
"how in the name of thor can a dog and cat know how to use weapons?" hiccup asked himself as he saw the fight. The bazleguese was struggling to get the dog off its back that the canine jumped on, while the cat was seeing if the hunter was okay and to hiccup surprise, the cat can talk.
"Are you okay, meowster?" the cat asked as the hunter got up "i'm fine soot. Man, why do bazlegueses hit so hard?" the hunter replied before asking, when the bazelguese finally got the dog off, it turned to the hunter before another male dragon hunter came out of nowhere but this one had armor with the same scales as the one with the coil and had a helmet and instead of having a massive ice sword, this one had a long sword (no pun intended) but it was had a different kind of dragon scales. The new hunter was fast with that sword and the bazleguese wasn't having much luck of getting a hit as this new hunter was slashing so fast until one slice cutted the tail clean off, the bazleguese toppled over but quickly got up and then, seeing it was out numbered, it let out a roar and took to the sky. above in the sky, the riders were looking where hiccup and toothless crashed.
"Okay, keep looking, they could've landed nearby" astrid said before they noticed the bazleguese flying away so they decided to go where it was flying away from. Meanwhile the new hunter sheathed his weapon and approached the younger hunter who was being accompanied by the cat and dog and spoke in an older and calm voice.
"Jack, i'm your friend but you need to stop running from our objective and hunt a bazleguese we're not tasked to hunt, this is the third time this week you've done this" the older hunter said as he gestured his hand before the younger one accepted it "okay, first, this is the second because last time was an anjanath, second, I couldn't let that man get hurt by a..." he replied as he turned his head to hiccup and saw toothless behind him.
"MONSTER!" the younger hunter shouted as he, the other hunter, the cat and dog took out their weapons as toothless immediately jumped in front of hiccup to protect him, hissing and growling threateningly. Hiccup got up and toothless helped him walk, the hunters were surprised by this action.
"S-sir, don't you know what that thing is?" the younger hunter asked.
"Yes, I'm very aware that my friend is helping me up, and toothless isn't a 'thing' or a 'monster', he's a dragon." Hiccup replied to the now confused hunters. Hiccup got a look of the younger hunter's face and saw he had a mustache and a scar on his left eye. The younger hunter noticed something on toothless' back.
"Is-is that a-" The younger hunter asked before hiccup finished.
"Saddle? Yes, that's exactly what it is" hiccup replied before the two hunters looked at each other in confusion before hiccup heard the sound of wings flapping above them and looked up to see astrid coming down on stormfly, as did the others on their dragons.
"Hiccup!" Astrid called out to hiccup, smiling, before she noticed the two hunters with their weapons in hand.
"Dragon hunters!"
She shouted as she took out her battle axe as the riders and their dragons surrounded the hunters, with the dragons hissing. Astrid landed next to hiccup and toothless while she was still glaring at the hunters. The hunters in question knew that they were outnumbered by the riders and dragons and decided to put down their weapons before putting their hands up while the dragons were watching their every move.
After they put down their weapons, hiccup wanted to know who these guys were and if these hunters are part of a possible new group of enemies.
"Who are you and explain why you have such large weapons?" Hiccup asked the two hunters.
"And what in Odin's name is up with the cat and dog holding weapons?" Snotlout added as he was staring at the cat and dog in complete confusion. It was silent, the only sounds that could be heard were the sound of the water flowing through the stream, the grass blowing against the wind and the sound of birds chirping. It stayed silent until the younger hunter cleared his throat and spoke up.
"Hi, this is my partner, rakuja…" He said while gesturing to the older hunter on his right, whose name is rakuja. "This is my palico, soot gremlin or soot for short…" He continued as he crouched down and petted the cat with a smile and then the dog, whose tail started wagging. "This is my palamute, penny…" He added before standing up and gesturing to himself but not before receiving a lick from penny.
"And my name is jackattack but you can just call me jack, and we've come from a village called 'kamura village'.
Hi again, I want to give you some info about the two hunters, the palico and palamute that hiccup and the gang encountered,my OC, jackattack, is the name of my avatar in monster hunter rise and his layered armour is no helmet, Damascus mail, sinister gauntlets, zinogre coil and tigrex greaves and pigment 1 for is lime green and pigment 2 is purple, his weapon is an Abominable GreatSword made from goss harag, his base armour is a complete tigrex set. Rakuja is not an avatar that I or anyone has as an avatar, he's just an OC, his armour is a complete zinogre set with the default pigment, his weapon is a Wyvern Blade Maple made from rathalos. Soot gremlin is a black palico named after my black cat, soot gremlin, who is now a mother to 4 kittens. Penny is a palamute named after my dog, Penny, she is a Hungarian vizsla dog. Hope you like this chapter because I'm new to writing fanfictions and I don't know if it's good or not. Before I leave, I would like to put up a tournament for which monster of the main monster hunter series should be in this story, and I'm talking about the ones who aren't in monster hunter rise, not monsters like khezu or basarios. The contenders are the following: gore magala, nergigante, seregios, astalos, brachydios, lagiacrus, odogaron and dodogama.
