Hey guys I'm back with another chapter and I want to tell you that my fanfictions will be delayed because 1: I'm back in school and 2: I'm working on other projects so more of my chapters might not be published in like a month or more but I'm still writing, don't worry, it's just that future chapters and fanfictions won't be published for a while. Anyway, time for our heroes to fight a fan favourite monster. Enjoy.

Chapter 6: the wraith and the limb reaper

Kamura village was on high alert when Fugen informed the villagers that magnamalo is back because of how much they fear it after it almost destroyed the village 50 years ago. The dragon riders and the hunters were getting ready to depart to a cold local named the "frost Islands" to search for a villager who was exploring the islands but sent a distress message, when Fugen received the message, the group volunteered to search for the villager except snotlout.

"Argh, why are we going to a place where it's freezing cold 24/7?" Snotlout complained and Astrid just shook her head.

"Because someone is in trouble and he needs our help." Hiccup said to the short Viking but he was still complaining.

"Well yeah, but I still don't understand why we're doing it." He replied to the haddock boy.

"Because we're nice and we protect the ones in need." Jack said and hiccup nodded before rakuja approached the group with a couple of maps in hand.

"What you got there in your hand?" Astrid asked curiously.

"Maps of the frost islands, it's easy to get lost this time of year due to the snow storms." Rakuja said as he passed one for each of the riders. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, they're almost there and they could already feel the cold temperature rising.

"Brr, my thor it's cold." Astrid exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around herself to keep warm while Rakuja was riding behind her on stormfly.

"It means we're close, look" Rakuja stated as he pointed to the local, it was quite big, had a ship stuck on some rocks and a zorah magdaros skull in the middle of a damp area at the centre of the environment. Hiccup notices a cart knocked over in an elevated platform in area 5 so they all landed on the platform and looked around. Hiccup and Jack were examining the cart, which was destroyed by something.

"What could have done this?" Hiccup questioned the situation as toothless noticed something inside a cave and then the others did too.

"What is it bud?" He asked his dragon before making his way closer to the cave and saw a man in his thirties was sitting down with his legs close to him as he had his hands covering his ears. Hiccup told them to look around the area for clues while they approached the cowering man.

"Don't let it find me. don't let it find me." The man whimpers before noticing hiccup and Jack before he suddenly gets up and puts his hands on the Viking's shoulders.

"I saw it!" He said as he looked around in the sky with the expression of fear.

"Whoah, calm down, what happened here?" Jack asked the frightened man.

"I-it came out of nowhere, s-slaughtered those izuchi and their a-alpha. I-it was too fast to s-see it attack, like a barioth, I-I only saw it eat their alpha w-while I hid in the ca-." The man explained before he saw toothless and immediately screamed in fear as he fell over and backed away as he threw some rocks at the night fury while shouting "demon" and "Get away from me" and toothless backed away to calm the man down.

"Guys, you might want to look at this!" Fishlegs called out and they went to the ingermen.

"What is it, fishlegs?" Rakuja asked before fishlegs showed them a corpse of a great izuchi with a chunk of meat missing. but it wasn't what fishlegs were showing them, it was the bite marks. Each bite mark had three holes in it, one bigger than the last. Hiccup shook his head in disbelief as he recognised the bite marks.

"Are those what I think they are?" Hiccup exclaimed and fishlegs nodded nervously.

"Yep, those are snow wraith bite marks." Fishlegs awneserd sheepishly the riders were shocked to learn that a snow wraith is in this region. The two hunters read the book of dragons and they know what dragons live in the archipelago and they were surprised that a dragon is living in this vastly different region.

"What is a snow wraith doing here?" Jack asked in confusion.

"I don't know. Whatever is going on here, we need to find out what it is." Hiccup said before the dragons turned their heads to a higher area and started growling at the direction and clearly the rest if the group noticed.

"Toothless, is there something wrong?" Hiccup asked the night fury before he noticed a large figure approaching from the higher area. The figure stops at the edge before it stands up on 2 feet, revealing it to be a bear. He saw this bear was covered in white and brown fur except the arms, legs and head which were scaly like and pale blue. The bear had small eyes that burn bright yellow and on top of it's head was 4 short, blunt, ice-like horns. On its forelegs and hindlegs are several black, keratinous scutes, the feet each have five digits, but their appearance heavily varies between the fore and hindlegs. Hiccup recognised this creature because he read about it in the monsterpedia, this bear is the ice oni fanged beast known as "goss harag, the limb reaper". The hunters readied their weapons as hiccup, Astrid and Snotlout pulled out their weapons (hiccup's weapon is a fire sword called the dragon blade) as the goss harag growls at the humans and dragons before it suddenly jumps down and making heavy impact on the ground, the monster looks at the group before rakuja charges towards the ice bear. The goss harag blocks an attack with the thick scaly hide of its arms, it retaliates by swinging its arm and knocks rakuja to the side. Stormfly grabs the goss harag with her talons as meatlug charges but the oni bear throws the nadder at the gronckle and roars, Astrid and fishlegs run towards their dragons to see if they're OK.

"Alright bud, let's drive this goss harag off. Jack, I need you to distract the monster." Hiccup said and Jack nodded but before he could do anything, a snow storm started to appear. This puts the group on high alert as they know what dragon only hunts during snow storms: the snow wraith.

"I-it's coming, it's c-coming to finish me off!" The fearful man exclaimed in fear as the group headed inside the cave while Jack and Rakuja were holding the goss harag off... if it was paying attention to the group, that is. It lost focus on the humans and dragons and just looked around the sky, this greatly confused the group.

"Uhh, why is it ignoring us now?" Snotlout questioned as he looked at the fanged beast.

"I think it knows what's coming." Fishlegs said before a roar of a snow wraith was heard. The goss harag gets into a battle position while it keeps looking for the white dragon before another roar is heard, closer this time. The roars kept growing louder and louder as before the limb reaper suddenly turned round and a good amount of snow was sent flying. What the group was seeing now was completely unexpected: the goss harag had caught the snow wraith in its claws as it was holding both its head and jaw as the snow wraith tried to get free from the monster's mighty grip.

"I-it caught the snow wraith while it was attacking." Rakuja exclaimed in amazement, he knew how strong these monsters were but stopping an animal that was coming at it in the blink of an eye in its tracks… that was some incredible reaction time. The goss harag roars as the arms and face change from pale blue to angry red before it slams the dragon on the ground, the snow wraith got up and growled at the limb reaper as the said limb reaper did the same. The two had a standoff for a minute before the goss harag breathed ice on its right arm as it was doing what this monster was very well known for. The ice began to form a large blade, the riders were surprised by this ability except the twins who were smiling at this. Both the goss harag and snow wraith growled at each other before the snow oni slams the ice blade down but the dragon dodged the attack before biting the scaly parts of the bear's arm covered in ice, the monster roars in pain before using its free arm to wedge the snow wraith's mouth open.

"OM Thor! A dragon vs a demon bear, dear sister, this is the most awesomest thing I've ever seen!" Tuffnut exclaimed as the two beasts battled out. The goss harag manages to force the dragon to let go before the ice oni punches the snow wraith in the face and then swings the ice blade again, cutting the leg, the snow wraith roars in pain as blood flows from the injured leg. Hiccup wasn't going to let the dragon die

"Alright, that's it! we've got to save that snow wraith, we can't let it die." He told the group and Jack readied his great sword and nodded in agreement. The snow wraith attempts to fly away but the goss harag grabs the tail and slams the dragon back down to the earth. The snow wraith looks up at the goss harag in fear. The goss harag growls before lifting the ice blade to finish the dragon but suddenly gets interrupted by Jack slams his great sword on the face. The goss harag jerks back a bit and snarls at the hunter who saved the snow wraith as the said snow wraith looks at the hunter curiously. The goss harag growls aggressively at him and Jack feels like this monster isn't an average goss harag. He could see pure hatred in the monster's eyes, he didn't know why it's so full of hatred until he noticed a large scar across the chest. Upon seeing this, Jack's eyes widened in realisation of the fact that he had met this monster before, the same monster he fought when he first met rakuja…

"It's you…" He exclaimed and the goss harag growled at him before it received a plasma blast from toothless with hiccup riding him. It turns to the dragon alpha and charges at him but toothless dodges the attack and fires another plasma blast. The goss harag growls before letting out an ice beam, the beam has a large radius but toothless barely avoids it. The other riders went to help the snow wraith except fishlegs who stayed behind to help the frightened man while Rakuja joined the fight. Rakuja slashed his long sword across the goss harag's arm with the ice blade. The goss harag snarls then Rakuja turns to hiccup.

"Hiccup, strike the ice blade, breaking it will make the goss harag topple over, making it vulnerable." He told the rider and the said rider nodded. Rakuja turns to the fanged beast and uses his wire bug to attack from above and slashed the face, Rakuja notices the scar across the chest and realizes what kind of goss harag they're dealing with. He lands next to jack.

"Is that the goss harag from before?" Rakuja asked and Jack nodded.

"Yep, I recognise that scar. Looks like he's here to settle the score." He replied before he and rakuja ran to the beast. The goss harag slashes at toothless but toothless dodges and gets its ice blade stuck, making an opening for the hunters. Rakuja attacks the goss harag from the back while Jack attacks the ice blade. The goss harag pulls the ice blade so forcefully, it shatters in two. The goss harag looks at the shattered ice blade before breaking what's left of the ice blade then turns to Jack. Both Jack and the monster ran towards each other, Jack slams his great sword but the goss harag grabs it and threw it away and then knocked Jack away to where his great sword is. Rakuja slashes its right arm but the goss harag retaliates by knocking him away before it receives another plasma blast from toothless who was in the air with hiccup on his back. The goss harag growls before jumping and grabs toothless by the foot and pulls the dragon and rider to the earth. Hiccup falls off of toothless who was thrown away by the goss harag. The goss harag turns to hiccup and grabs him and lifts him up, hiccup stared into the monster's eyes before the goss harag grabs both of his arms. Toothless gets up and readies a plasma blast but the goss harag holds hiccup in front of it which causes toothless to stop to not hurt his best friend. The goss harag pulls both arms and hiccup starts to feel pain in his arms and realizes that the monster is going to rip his arms off, Astrid turns to the goss harag attempting to rip her boyfriend.

"Hiccup!" Astrid shouts and rakuja recovers from the goss harag's attack and lifts his head to see hiccup about to lose his arms.

"No" He said as he got up and grabbed the long sword but it was stuck.

"No, not now!" He said as he pulled the sword but it won't budge. The goss harag continues to pull hiccup's arms while hiccup yells in pain as the pain in his arms keeps getting worse.

"Hey!" Shouts Jack and the goss harag stops pulling hiccup's arms and turns around and comes a slashing sound. The goss harag was frozen still before looking down to see the hunter's greatsword in the monster's chest. The fanged beast coughs out blood as it drops hiccup, the monster's arms and face change from angry red to its original pale blue colour as blood drips from its chest. The goss harag topples backwards before it dies. Jack got on the beast and pulled the great sword out of its chest and the great sword was now covered in blood. He turns to hiccup before approaching him as he sheathes his weapon.

"Are you OK?" He asks the dragon rider.

"Yeah, thanks for saving me." Hiccup replied before they turned to the snow wraith before the rider turned to toothless.

"Bud, care to do the honours?" Hiccup asked the dragon who nodded. Toothless roars at the dragon to tell it to return to the archipelago. The snow wraith bows at the dragon before flying away. Fishlegs leaves the cave with the man who is now calm.

"Oh, thank you, you saved my life." The man thanks the group.

"Alright gang, let's head back to the village." Jack said and they all got on dragon back, even the man who hesitated but got on anyway. Hiccup suddenly had a thought and looked at the snow wraith with a nervous.

'Why did a snow wraith show up here, a region very different from the archipelago? What's caused it to migrate here?' He thought before a random thought came to mind.

'Wait, if a dragon from the archipelago migrated to this region, does that mean that other dragons migrated here?' He thought before noticing Jack who had the same expression which means that he was having the same thought. Toothless took off with the rider and hunter on his back to follow the others back to kamura.

Later at night in a bamboo forest of the shrine ruins, we see an eerie purple fireball floating around, stalking a tobi-kadachi that was minding its own business. The tobi-kadachi notices the fireball before running away but the purple fireball slowly pursues it. The tobi-kadachi stops and turns to face the fireball before it charges up and roars as blue electricity starts to spark. The tobi-kadachi slams its tail on the fireball, making a cloud of dust and suddenly a giant trident covered in purple flames flies towards the tobi-kadachi. The tobi-kadachi roars again one final time before its life ends. Soon we see the now dead tobi-kadachi was being dragged by something big and covered in purple flames, it was the magnamalo with a broken horn that was caused by receiving a plasma blast from toothless. The magnamalo lifts up the tobi-kadachi corpse with its jaws as it lifts its tail.

Meanwhile in the desolate land called the sandy plains, 4 people (2 men and 2 women), a silver dragon called a razor whip and a dragon with three tails of a scorpion and claws of one called a triple stryke were exploring a large sandy area (area 9). These 4 people and 2 dragon were the allies of the dragon riders, a blonde woman was named mala, the Queen of the defenders of the wing island, a muscular man named dagur the deranged, once an enemy of hiccup but became a dragon rider and the chief of the berserker tribe as well as mala's husband and his dragon is the triple stryke called sleuther, a raven haired woman named Heather, who is dagur's sister and the razor whip is Heather's dragon called wind shear' and a man named throk, he is mala's second in command of the defenders of the wing. They were all wandering around the area and found some corpse of the villagers of both the D.O.T.W (defenders of the wing) and berserker island, 2 weeks ago some dragons from the island were migrating so mala sent 5 of her most skilled while dagur sent 5 of the berserker tribe's best warriors to aid them, a week later they received a terrible terror message from one of the berserkers saying they were in trouble so they went to this region and leaves us to where we are now. They approached the corpses and they all saw some were either skewered by something or beaten to death.

"What happened here?" Heather asked while Throk bowed in respect of the fallen people of the D.O.T.W.

"I don't know, but whoever did this, he'll wish he was never born." Dagur said in anger of the death of his people. Soon the ground started to rumble and both wind shear and sleuther were growling and looking around.

"Welp, I think you'll get your wish, brother. An army is coming" Heather said.

"Prepare for battle!" Mala said as she pulled out her katanga, dagur pulled out his axe, Heather pulled out her double bladed axe and throk with his axe. They formed a circle to see where the attackers were but they didn't see any and the rumbling stopped, the group wondered why it stopped before suddenly twin horns burst out of the sand, causing them to be thrown back by this. Mala recovered and looked at the source but what she saw terrified her, it was some kind of dragon with 2 big horns and a thrill of a triceratops, it had a club tail like an ankylosaurus, its hide was so dark it was almost black, its horns had glowing demonic red veins and black smoke with red sparks crackled from the mouth, it was like she was looking at a demon. Mala noticed something on the horn, it was on of the D.O.T.W, this made her realise that this creature is the one reasonable for the death of her people.

"By the ancients." She silently exclaimed before the twin horned dragon let out a mighty roar into the night.
