"How could it just slip Kagome?" I asked her getting worried.
"I don't know, I didn't even realize I was holding onto it so tight." she told me.
"Impossible!" I looked to see Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, and Jaken all looking at her in shock. "Inuyasha's case is irrelevant as even Sesshomaru-sama couldn't pull the Tetsusaiga out. How could that cheeky human girl..." I watched Sesshomaru stare at Kagome, and I didn't like the look.
"Don't you go looking elsewhere!" Inuyasha yelled attacking him, but Sesshomaru had quickly moved over to us. I pulled Kagome behind me with her still holding the sword.
"You..." he said looking past me to Kagome. "Who are you? Why were you able to draw Tetsusaiga?"
"Don't... Don't come any closer! Or I'll slice you!" she said holding the sword between us and him.
"Kagome, if Inuyasha couldn't hit this guy... you have no chance." I told her bluntly but she didn't listen to me.
"Sesshomaru! Leave them alone! They have nothing to do with this!" Inuyasha yelled at him.
"Inuyasha, I disagree. Especially since they're your companions." Sesshomaru said before raising his hand.
"Sesshomaru leave her out of this. She's just a human." I told him. Suddenly he grabbed me and his two hands worked at once; one pulling me away from Kagome and the other going towards her.
"Be annihilated by my Dokkasou." He sprayed his poison out onto her.
"Kagome!" I shouted, trying to break his grip on my arm. Everything his poison touched melted except the sword. I watched helplessly as Inuyasha put his arm through the melted area before pulling it out quickly.
"Kagome..."
"How dull. Just an ordinary girl, huh? Sesshomaru said, finally releasing the grip on my arm. I dropped to my knees, eyes wide. How could this be possible? How could she be dead?
"Ugh... Sesshomaru!" I turned and watched Inuyasha attacked Sesshomaru.
"Shut up... I'll melt you too, bastard." Sesshomaru told him. I felt anger towards this Youkai, more than I'd ever felt for anyone else. I felt heat going down my arms to my hands and I thought of a weapon to use against him; a sword. I held onto the handle of the sword tightly and waited for the opportune moment. I watched as Sesshomaru was pushed back my Inuyasha's hit.
"Wha... what the?! He couldn't even scratch him before!" Jaken said as we watched Sesshomaru's armor fall to the ground in pieces.
"What's the matter Inuyasha? It was only a human girl." Sesshomaru said and it made me twitch. I took my sword and attacked the silver haired male forcing him to turn to me before dodging my attack.
"Bastard... I'll drag our bowels out next." I heard Inuyasha say.
"She was just a human girl. She didn't have to die like that!" I shouted at him and his eyes widened at me. Was he really that surprised that I'd defended her even in death. Suddenly we heard something behind us and turned to see the sword moving.
"Bleah!" Kagome suddenly popped up out of the melted vat and walked to Inuyasha. "I thought I was dead for sure."
"What the hell?" I asked quietly. I felt the sword disappear from my hand as I watched her.
"Hey you! You really tried to kill me, didn't you!" she asked pointing the rusted sword at him. "I'm gonna make you regret that, so you better prepare yourself!" she turned to Inuyasha and handed him the sword. "Here. Somehow, this sword must really be amazing! Do your best okay!"
"Why you... What's with the cheerful act?" he asked her.
"Better question is how are you alive?" I asked her.
"I see..." I turned to Sesshomaru. "She was protected by the Kekkai on the sword. Kagome was protected by the Kekkai on the sword a demon had created and left in his remains in a black pearl his his youngest sons right eye. This couldn't get any stranger.
"No need to hesitate, Inuyasha-sama." We all looked at Myoga. "You should test Tetsusaiga's blade on Sesshomaru's body."
"Heh..." we turned back to Sesshomaru to see his eyes turning red. I've been corrected. It just got stranger. "How daring of you to say that. We shall see, if a Hanyou bastard like you can master the Tetsusaiga. I will see that my own eyes." I watched as his face elongated and his hands and feet turned to four paws. He transformed into an enormous canine.
"He's... He's changed." Kagome said, shocked.
"Keh... He's fucking revealed his true form." Inuyasha told us. "I'll cover this sword in your blood!" Inuyasha attacked him. He hit his brothers body, but from what I could see nothing happened. "It... It bounced off?!" I could see Sesshomaru smirk at Inuyasha before trying to bite him. Inuyasha dodged him, forcing his brother to bite down on their father's rib bone. "Oi, Myoga-Jijii... What's the meaning of this?!"
"Yesw!" The flea asked him.
"It can't even bruise him, let alone behead him!" Inuyasha yelled at him. Sesshomaru used one of his front paws to swipe down onto Inuyasha who dodged just in time.
"Anyway, Inuyasha-sama, this sword is a memento of your father. Believe in the sword's spiritual power! Never abandon it!" I watched Inuyasha try and cut off one of Sesshomaru's front paws. I looked to Kagome to see Myoga join her on her shoulder. Coward.
"Go get him Inuyasha!" Kagome cheered happily. "That last strike did some damage!"
"How far in your own little world are you?" I asked her and she gave me a look.
"Now look you!" Inuyasha said jumping back to us. "That strike did absolutely nothing!"
"That's your sword, isn't it?" she asked him. "I believe in it and in you!"
"Aren't you a little too optimistic?" he asked her.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Inuyasha on this one." I told her.
"Amane and I are tough, so we'll be ok. But you'll probably get killed at this rate." he said.
"So then, it's no good after all?" Kagome asked, tears in her eyes.
"Great going idiot! Now you made her cry!" I shouted at him.
"Don't cry!" he shouted at her.
"Yeah like that's going to help!" I yelled at him.
"Should I be laughing?" she asked us.
"Shut up! I'm saying I'll protect you!" he yelled at her. We both looked at him shocked as he stared straight at her. "Jeez, just sit back and watch." he turned from us and headed over to his brother.
Ok, so the next chapter is the deciding moment! Will Amane travel with Sesshomaru and Jaken or will she stay with Inuyasha and Kagome?
