Tires squealing against pavement woke me up. I sat up and rubbed my eyes while watching Kagome going to the window.

"What was that?" I asked her tiredly.

"An accident maybe…" she told me looking out the window before looking at her alarm clock. "It's two A.M.!? I haven't studied for that test at all! Oh no!" I watched her scramble to study before sighing and putting my nose back in my book.

"I'm done! I'm done!" Kagome said on the last day of tests stretching.

"I envy you Kagome. Amane." Yuka told us.

"You're both always in the top 30, aren't you?" Eri asked.

"Well, I don't know about that Math test." Kagome said scratching the back of her head.

"It was easy enough." I told her and she gave me a look.

"Higurashi!" we all turned to see Hojo walking up to us. "How are you feeling?"

"Kagome! It's Hojo-kun!" Yuka said and I gave her a small look. Have they always been like this?

"Um… here." He said handing her another gift. He'd been bringing her gifts ever since we got back to school three days ago. She opened it and pulled out the strange bamboo gift.

"Bamboo?" she asked.

"It's good for your health! Step on it!" he told her with a smile.

"Yeah…" Kagome said.

"Umm… Higurashi… Movies… do you like them?" he asked her and I raised an eyebrow.

"Eh?" she asked confused.

"Maybe we can go sometime?" he asked. "Just the two of us?"

"Eh…" Yuka and Eri pulled Kagome away from Hojo and towards Yuri and myself.

"Kagome, what will you do?!" Yuka asked her.

"You going?!" Eri asked.

"Why don't you, you've never gone on a date have you?" Yuka asked.

"Do… don't be stupid! Of course i…" she dropped her sentence and paled. Well that answers that question.

"We should take that as a no then." I told the girls surrounding us.

"And when was the last time you were on a date?!" she asked me.

"Never." I told her with a smile making her sigh before going back to Hojo.

"I guess that'd be okay…" she told him nervously.

"Really?!" he asked her excitedly. "Then, this Saturday. It's a promise." He called before leaving on his bike as I waved the other girls off.

"Oh no!" she said and I gave her a confused look.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"I have to go back there after this!" she told me. "Going on a date is out of the question…"

"That really sucks." I told her. "I never gave Sesshomaru a deadline when I'd return. He's probably not even at the well anymore."

"What will you do then?" she asked me.

"I'll just travel with you and Inuyasha then. Besides I might have a higher chance to do what I want to there." I said.

"What is it?" she asked me. I was about to tell her until we were both called to the faculty office.

"Higurashi! Yuki!" we turned to the teacher and walked to him.

"Ma… make-up tests?!" Kagome asked shocked after he told us the news. "The Math test… I flunked it…"

"Math for you and science for me. What rotten luck." I sighed.

"Yes! But as I'm sure Higurashi's beriberi and rheumatism must have given you some trouble and not much is known about Yuki's disease… you two may re-take the test this Saturday." He told us before we left the school grounds.

"What'll I do…?" she asked as we walked down the street.

"The make-up exam is on Saturday. That's only three days away. We can study until then and if Inuyasha has an issue then just start crying." I told her when we sensed a demonic aura. We looked behind us to see…

"Inuyasha…" Kagome said before he grabbed us both and started taking us back to the well.

"We're going back, Kagome! And you're coming with us, Amane!" Inuyasha told us.

"Nice to see you too." I commented.

"Perfect timing, Inuyasha! I wanted to see you!" Kagome said pulling his face closer to hers with the beads around his neck.

"Eh? I…is that so?" he asked her. "I didn't particularly want to see you though…"

When we got back to the well house Kagome and I explained everything to Inuyasha about her needing to stay for a few more days.

"Three more days?!" he shouted at her. "What for?!"

"Because I can't study over on the other side. I'm not good at Math to begin with… If I fail the make-up, it's all over for me…" she told him.

"No." he told her.

"Please, just this once?" she asked him.

"Not a chance." He answered looking away from her.

"Even though I'm begging you like this…?" she asked him as tears began to fill her eyes. He finally looked back at her. She glared up at him with tears in her eyes making him gulp in fear. "Then how are you going to take responsibility?!"

"Wha…"

"All you care about is finding the Shikon no Tama! But what about my life here?!" she asked him.

"Oi… Kagome…" he tried talking to her.

"Please, just go away!" she told him before kicking him back into the well. "Leave!"

"If you see Sesshomaru tell I'm all be back in three days." I called down to him.

"Bitch… what the hell did I do?!" Inuyasha called up to her. "Stupid…"

"Come on, Kagome. Time to study." I told her before grabbing her and walking to her house.

That night I made it back home and found my grandmother waiting with a smile on her face.

"Welcome home, Amane." She said and I could help but smile back at her.

"Thank you grandmother." I said before sitting next to her at the table.

"Have you found the Youkai yet?" she asked me.

"No, and the Youkai I'm with is scaring away any Youkai it might be. Unless he's dead." I said.

"He won't be dead. When I was younger I heard rumors about him mating a beautiful woman and was angry for many years." She told me.

"Why's that?" I asked her.

"I felt he'd betrayed my sister. Instead of waiting for her reincarnation he mated an unknown woman." She explained and I suppose it made sense.

"What made you stop being angry?" I asked him.

"I went to kill the woman and understood why he fell for her." Grandmother told me. "I met your grandfather soon after that and we married and well, you know the rest of the story." I thought about her story for a moment.

"Should I really go back then? Back to search for him in the Feudal Era?" I asked her.

"That ultimately is up to you, dear. But know this if you do decide to go back, then know this: this man will recognize you instantly and go anything he can to protect you. In his eyes he allowed my sister to die and will not allow the same to happen to you." She told me.

"What was he like?" I told her realizing I knew nothing about the man I was searching for. "What does he look like?"

"You don't remember yet?" she asked me.

"I don't remember anything from my previous incarnation." I told her and she smiled kindly at me.

"You will remember when it's time to remember." She told me and I sighed.

"I'm going to bed." I told her. "See you tomorrow."
