Steve opened the car's door for Nat, then he blindfolded her so she couldn't recognize the place he was taking her. He had thought of every place that could be special to them. The place where they had their first kiss, but it was a mall and during a mission, the place where they found out she was pregnant, but it was pretty far just for a night out, and not romantic enough for a proposal, the place where he first asked her out, but that was in the Avengers tower and there was not enough privacy... Until he found the spot. The place where they had their first date, well, not exactly.
Steve stopped the car and got the door for Nat, he took her blindfold off and step aside so she could see where she was.
Nat: "Steve, this is the place where we had our first date... It's so beautiful."
Steve: "So you like the surprise ?"
Nat: "I love it."
They entered the restaurant and the waiter showed them to their table. Steve had reservations. He had asked the restaurant to set the same table as they were sitting on their first date and to have it decorated with some rose petals just like the night of their first date. They sat down, enjoyed the evening, the food, everything was perfect.
Nat: "Babe, this was amazing, thank you so much for tonight, I really enjoyed it."
Steve: "Wait, I'm not done surprising you. There is still something."
Nat: "Really what is it ?"
Steve: "Don't you remember what we did after the restaurant."
She did, it was their first real kiss. They had kissed before, but it was only a cover. The night of their first date though, Steve took her to this exact same restaurant, and after dinner, they walked around for a bit, and they arrived at a beautiful park, where they sat on the edge of a little fountain, where they kissed.
She thought about all of that while they were walking to that park, and before she could realize it, the fountain was standing two feet from them. They sat on the edge of the fountain recreating the moment. But this time it was a bit later, and no one else was there.
Nat: "Are you also gonna kiss me like on our first date ?"
Steve: "I'm gonna do way better."
Nat: "Really ? 'cause I find that quite difficult."
Steve got up, reached in his pocket but didn't show the little red box with the ring until he kneeled down in front of her. The moment had arrived. He had prepared this for a while, he had repeated his speech a hundred times but when the moment came, he needed to speak from his heart, so he forgot about what he had written and he improvised.
Steve: "Nat, you are the most amazing person I have ever met. I know we've had our ups and downs, but every single part of it was worth it when I can have moments like this with you. You make me so happy, you make me wanna be a better man. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love you, but I was wrong. And after all these years I feel like I love you even more everyday, even when I think I can't love you more, I just look at you and fall for you again, over and over. I want you to be happy, I want what's best for you, I want to be the reason you're happy, I want to keep loving you, I want to keep showing you how much I love you, each day everyday for the rest of my life. So, Natasha Romanoff, will you make me the happiest man alive and do me the honor of marrying me ?"
Nat was crying from the beginning of his speech. She loved him so much, she couldn't imagine her life without him but she didn't have the words to tell him. And Steve had just found the right words to describe how she felt about him, to describe their love story. She didn't even have to think about it.
Nat: "Yes, I will. I love you so much Steve. Yes a hundred times yes !"
Steve got up and picked her up, they kissed passionately. As he set her down he put the ring on Nat's finger. And it fitted perfectly. The ring was beautiful and it looked even better when she was wearing it.
