Question 36: Share a personal problem and ask your partner's advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen.

Kurt stirred in bed and Blaine pinned him down.

"Feeling better?"

"I feel like I have a hangover."

"I suppose that's normal."

Actually, Blaine had no idea how Kurt must be feeling. Was he remembering his childhood and the lost of his mother? Blaine was also worried about Burt, but he couldn't let Kurt see it. He should be strong for his fiancé.

Kurt was roaming the house like a zombie. He barely slept and only ate when Blaine forced him. He spoke to Burt every day and assured him everything was just fine. After he hung up, there was a crying session.

Today, after the phone call, Blaine was there to hug him and make him feel better. Kurt lay his head in his lap and said:

"I have bad news."

"More?"

Kurt began to rub his temple. Blaine started to massage his fiancé's scalp. Kurt relaxed a little and got more comfortable:

"My dad will need surgery and he doesn't have insurance."

"How come?"

Kurt shrugged:

"He's a Hummel, that means stubborn. I got it from him. He pays for his workers, but he thought he wouldn't get sick."

"And now what?"

Kurt took a deep breath:

"I don't know".

"Do they have the money?"

Kurt made a pained face and shook his head.

In moments like this that Blaine wished he had a ton of money. Well, his father had. But he couldn't count on his father to help his future in-law. All the money Blaine had had been invested on the wedding. That was it! They would use the wedding money.

When he told Kurt his idea, his first instinct was saying no. Blaine insisted:

"We have the rest of our lives to throw a big wedding party. Your father needs the money now."

Kurt hesitated:

"He'll never let me do it."

"That's where your stubbornness comes in."

Kurt looked out the window for a while; he seemed lost in thought. At last, he turned to Blaine:

"I can't do that to you; to us."

Blaine took his hand:

"Why not, Kurt? You were going to give up on your dream of a big white wedding when you thought that would make me uncomfortable. Why now is different?"

"Because that's not what you want."

Blaine chuckled and caressed the back of Kurt's hand:

"Of course it is! There's no point throwing a big party without Burt in it. Like I said, we have the rest of our lives to throw parties. We can go to city hall to get married and do the wedding for our one-year anniversary. Burt needs the money now."

Kurt was worrying his lower lip:

"Are you sure about it?"

"Absolutely."

Kurt took a deep breath:

"Ok, then."

Blaine grabbed Kurt by the waist, lifted him up and twirled him around:

"Call him, call him, call him. He must know the good news."

Kurt grinned:

"Who is being stubborn now?"

Blaine winked:

"I learned from the best."

Kurt kissed him and took his phone out of his back pocket.

"Hi, Carole. I'll need your help convincing my father of a thing…"

Blaine entered the apartment hiding his last purchase behind his back. He called for his fiancé. Kurt came into the living room drying his hands on an apron. He looked at Blaine and one of his eyebrows raised:

"What are you up to?"

Blaine bit his lip in anticipation. He brought his hands forward showing Kurt what he was hiding.

"Flower crowns? Why do we need flower crowns for?"

"We're getting married."

"Come again?"

Blaine laughed and put himself on one knee.

"Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, my beautiful fiancé…"

Kurt opened that irresistible smile of his and interrupted him:

"Blaine, get up from the floor."

"Listen to it all first. This apartment is where we met and where it all began. Where we fell in love, where we got engaged… Anyway, I thought we could have a private ceremony here. For us."

"And how would that be?"

Blaine chuckled:

"Any way we want, my love. You know what day is today, right?"

"The day that would be our wedding."

Blaine, still from the floor, grabbed one of Kurt's hands:

"Marry me?"

Kurt caressed Blaine's hair and got on his knees in front of him. He took Blaine's other hand:

"What have I done to deserve someone as wonderful as you?"

They kissed and, in the kiss, Blaine pulled them up to be on their feet again. He grabbed the forgotten crowns and placed one on Kurt's head. He was about to place the other on his own head, but Kurt stopped him:

"Let me do it."

Blaine smiled at his future husband. Kurt was careful adjusting the flowers in his hair:

"I still don't get what we need these for."

"We already had the rings, I wanted something to celebrate this day. Besides, these are our flowers – white and yellow roses."

Blaine took Kurt's hand out of his hair and kissed it. Kurt was staring deep into his eyes:

"They are beautiful, Blee. And now what? Are we married yet?"

"No, we need to exchange vows. And do the rings ceremony."

A tear was running down Kurt's face. Blaine realized his own eyes were moist too.

"I'll start, don't mind if I cry."

Kurt let out a snort between a sob and a chuckle. Blaine went on:

"Kurt Hummel, you met me at my worse and you made the sun shine back into my life. You made me confidant to be myself again and I love who I am next to you. I hope I can make you a better version of yourself too. You are the love of my life, and I couldn't wait no longer to be your husband, even in this made-up ceremony. Do you take me to be your husband? To be yours forever?"

Kurt's smile broaden up:

"I do."

Blaine cleared the tears out of his own eyes. He took the wedding rings from his pocket. Kurt interrupted him:

"Wait, you haven't said 'I do' yet. Nor have you heard my vows."

Blaine shook his head:

"Silly me…"

"Blaine Devon Anderson, I could only be the sun in your live because you made me shine bright. You encouraged me to be my best. It's because of you my – no, our – play is out into the world. I love you come what may."

"Like the song?"

Kurt smiled bashfully:

"Like the song. Will you do me the enormous honor of becoming my husband?"

"I do."

They kissed and smiled for a while. They exchanged rings. Blaine surprised Kurt by lifting him up and carrying him bridal style to the bedroom. They lay in bed staring into each other's eyes. Nothing needed to be said. They were the picture of happiness. Blaine reached for his husband's hand. They fell asleep holding hands and with the flower crowns. The future might throw come what may into them, they now had each other and that was enough.
