Chapter 8- What a BAD Dream (Starts in Rose's point of view and switches back and forth between Rose, Edward, and Bella)
Pain that's all I could feel, my head hurts, I couldn't open my eyes but I could hear faint murmurs of people though they were way too garbled to comprehend. Tired, can't stay awake, sleep, yeah….sleep.
(Bella's POV)
I had returned home around 20 minutes after I got off the phone with my Rose. I could tell she was extremely excited that I was coming home early and she'd get to see me sooner. I missed her so much, it had been quite a while since we've been together and now she's here and I get to spend as much time with her as I possibly can. As Emmett pulled into the driveway to our dad's house I noticed something off. Rosalie said she would be here before I got home and her car wasn't parked in front of the house where it should have been. I decided to call her because if there was one thing I knew about my girlfriend was when she said she was going to do something she stood true to her word and did it. One ring, two ring, three, four, five, voice mail, "Hi this is Rose, you missed me sorry, leave a message and I will get back to you once I'm free, 'kissy noise' Bye."
"Ro baby call me, I was expecting you to be here when I got home but you aren't. Just call me, love you." I tried not to sound so horribly worried but I don't think I did the greatest job of it.
"Baby sis what's wrong?" Emmett showed deep concern about my tone while shutting off his car.
"It's just…well Ro she's not here and every time she says she's going to do something she stays true to her words no matter what." I could feel my brows furrowing and my heart rate rising. Anxiety was taking its righteous throne in the palace of my heart.
"Bells relax maybe she just got caught up with something, I mean look she's a shopper maybe she stopped in town and someone got her talking and she just lost track of time. I'm sure she'll be here soon." A loving heavy hand rubbed my shoulders and I looked up into the soft comforting reassurance of mossy forest floor orbs. Emmett was my rock and kept me from going insane without Rose.
"You're right Emmybear." I sighed heavily knowing that my compassionate, loving big brother was probably right and I really need to stop jumping to conclusions and assuming the worst.
Emmett got out of the old tan 99' Buick Skylark and started to retrieve our bags out of the trunk. While shutting the trunk I heard some rust fall onto the ground, "Um Em, I think it is finally time to put Shirley to rest."
"What are you talking about she's fine, just a bit of rust no biggie. She still runs good and I just spend over 1,200 bucks on new engine and maintenance parts. Don't hate." Deep chuckles were heard coming from the barony brick house that was my brother.
I looked up at the chuckling loon and laughed with him. See Emmett may be my half brother but we looked a lot alike, and have been connected at the hip since I was 3 and he was 6. Before our mom met my dad she was with Emmett's dad for a couple of months before she ended up pregnant, after finding out that our mom had a little one cooking in the oven Emmett's real dad took off on her. At 7 months pregnant she met my dad and they fell in love and he took Emmett on as his own, but after three years mom ended up with a belly full again this time being me and she took off on my dad saying she didn't want to be stuck here in Forks. She ended up having me in Arizona and met Phil, divorced my father and married Phil. Once I turned 3 my mom sent me to live with my dad because she and Phil were moving again due to Phil's obsessive need to try and become a baseball star. That has still failed after all these years. Renee loves Emmett and I, calls us frequently, and we visit often, she's just not stable mother material. She doesn't like to settle in one place for too long that is why I believe Phil and mom are perfect for each other, on the other hand my dad is stable and can provide for us in ways my mother never would or could be able to.
Emmett carried our bags into the house and let them drop to the floor once he stepped foot in the living room. After dropping the bags Emmett flopped onto the sofa across from dad and started watching the game with him. I decided to sit cross-legged on the floor next to the sofa, "So how was the visit with your mom?" Charlie's gruff voice grumbled out.
"It was nice to see mom but I am so glad to be home." Shyness seeped out in my statement.
"Yeah, yeah I know that girly friend of yours' is coming. So you being careful?" Mumbled words come out rushed.
"DAD…wha…what are you talking about?" I could feel the flush creeping up the skin of my neck to my cheeks.
"Ah your brother told me everything. I know all about that Rose girl that you are…dating…I guess…just making sure you're safe….being a dad…" the discomfort evident in Charlie's voice. I don't think that Charlie could be any more uncomfortable than he already was, not only was he trying to be a dad and make sure I was being safe which what parent has an easy job with the birds and bees talk, but also he now knows his little girl is gay.
"Um y…yeah she moved here and Emmett how could you?" I couldn't help but half yell at my brother as I leapt to my feet and high tailed it as fast as I could to my room. Slamming my door I flung myself onto my bed.
I lied on the bed for what seemed like forever waiting for my phone to ring but still nothing but silence. I picked up the quiet piece of technology and checked the time; it had only been 20 minutes. I decided it was time to call her again, I quickly dialed Ro's number and put the phone up to my ear…one ring, two, ring, three ring, voicemail. I listened to her message and waited for the beep, "Rosalie please call me ASAP I'm getting worried. I haven't heard anything from you for a bit and that's not like you. Call me!" I fell back onto the bed waiting for her call getting more and more worried by the seconds that were ticking by as slow as molasses.
(Edward's POV)
I awoke from my nap with a scare due to the sound of my phone going off, I hurriedly snatched it off my bedside table answering it, "Hello.."
"Ed…it's Jasper…" Jasper sounded disgruntled which was abnormal for my laid back bestfriend.
"Jasper what is it? WHAT'S WRONG?" I felt my heart clench thinking it was something between him and my baby sister or there was something wrong with my little Allycat.
"Rosalie…hospital…" Was all he managed to whisper.
"I'm on my way." I said as I was rushing to my Volvo. The line went dead and I took off toward Forks Memorial Hospital, the only hospital in Forks and the same one my father works at.
(Rose's POV)
"Hey baby." My girl greeted me with a giant smile and a sweet kiss.
"Hey gorgeous." I kissed my sweet beauty back, our lips mashing, tongues fighting a loving battle, breaths being taken by each other. I held her tightly to me not wanting any space. I pulled away to catch my breath and look into those brown orbs that I loved so much, but when our eyes met they did not meet sweet chocolate pools, my eyes met hardened emeralds…
