A.N. : Hi ! So, my computer broke down and I had to wait for a new one to arrive but I have a new computer now, so I am back ! Hope you'll enjoy this chapter.

The team was waiting in the common room, quite worried about Steve. They had arrived half an hour ago but the Captain was nowhere to be found. Bucky and Sam suggested he might have stayed behind, as he was quite persuaded that Natasha was still there even though they hadn't found anything. The others agreed at that thought as they knew how stubborn Steve could be.

Strange came down with the kids as he received Tony's message saying that they were back from their mission.

Tony: "How did you ... ?"

Strange: "I used the elevator."

Tony: *sights and roll his eyes* "Where are the kids ?"

Just as he finished that sentence the twins ran down the hallway to the common room, pretty excitedly, shouting for their parents. But immediately froze at the sight of the team's faces. Something was wrong. And they kinda understood it when they didn't see their dad nor their mom.

Lexi: "What happened to mom and dad ?"

Tony: "God, how do I say this..."

Charlie: "We're not three anymore, just tell us what happened."

Tony: "You're mom, she... she left for a mission and went missing..."

Wanda: "Your dad and all the team went looking for her."

Lexi: "Where are they ?"

Bucky: "We didn't find your mom, but your dad..."

Charlie: "Where are they !?*

Steve: "Right here kiddo !"

They quickly turned around and saw Natasha and Steve walking into the common room. They sighted in relief and ran up to them to hug them. The rest of the team was shocked. They couldn't believe they had given up and Natasha was still there, and they couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if Steve hadn't insisted on staying.

Steve: "Guys, you look like you've just seen a ghost."

Tony: "We were so worried about you two. I'm so glad you're both ok."

Steve: "Well, I have a pretty badass fiancée so... She could almost have made it out of there on her own."

Nat: "Almost ?!"

Steve: "Well, I did help."

Nat: "True. But I could have gotten out by myself, you didn't need to worry."

Sam: "He took the whole team with him."

Nat: "And you guys followed him, I thought you knew I could make it on my own."

Bucky: "I wouldn't want to argue with 'my fiancée is missing Steve', but if you do..."

Sam: "Yeah... He was a bit over reacting. But it was scary."

Nat: "Is that so ?"

Steve just blushed when Nat looked at him in a flirtatious way. Then, he apologized to his teammates about how he handled the situation and about how he had spoken to them. All of them just forgave him saying it was understandable. Wait, not all of them. Tony kinda played with this whole "you owe me" situation which made everyone laugh but Steve who was genuinely concerned about upsetting his friends. After a while Tony eventually got bored of the little game and just forgave him.

Then, everyone had dinner together. Steve and Nat put the kids to bed and joined the rest of the Avengers downstairs. Strange asked them to talk but just told them that he would show them something the following day, with the twins.

After a few hours of fun and drinks with the rest of the team, and some teasing about how Steve lost his mind while Nat was missing, everyone left to bed. Only to find on their night tables the invitations to the wedding that Steve had placed there before the mission. They all smiled seeing it and went to sleep anyway but Wanda, who came downstairs, running, to hug them both.

Nat: "What was that for ?"

Wanda: "This" *holds up the invitation*

Nat: "Steve ! You chose the one I liked ?!"

Steve: "Yeah... I couldn't help it. Are you happy ?"

Nat: "Of course. That is so cute !"

Wanda left them after wishing them goodnight. Steve picked Nat up bridal style and carried her to their bedroom as it was quicker than letting her walk because her whole body was aching after the mission.

He placed her on the bed, gently, trying not to hurt her. Then, he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and helped her out of her clothes. He put one of his shirts on her as it was easier because it was too large for her, he took off his own shirt and put on his sleeping shorts. Then, he laid beside her as Nat cuddled up to him. They both fell asleep in each other's arms, feeling comfortable and safe. The same feeling they would wake up to.

Steve was the first one to open his eyes. He gently stroked Nat's hair, without realizing at first that this sudden movement may wake her up. Then, caught up in the moment, he kissed her forehead, sweetly, but that definitely woke her up. She moved her head upwards to look him in the eyes, only to see him in deep thoughts, staring at the ceiling. When Nat moved, Steve looked down at her with a genuine smile, full of care and love. To which she responded the same way.

Steve: "Good morning, beautiful."

Nat: "Good morning handsome."

Steve: "Did you sleep well ?"

Nat: "I did. You looked lost in your thoughts... What's on your mind ?"

Steve: "I was just thinking that I'm so lucky that in exactly 9 days I get to marry this wonderful woman that I love with all of my heart."

Nat: *playfully smirking* "Oh really ?! You didn't tell me about her ! Who is she ? Do I know her ?"

Steve: "I think you know her very well. She is an ex-russian spy, she is a great person with an enormous heart. She doesn't realize it but she is the most beautiful person I know, and I'm not talking about the looks. Although she looks beautiful."

Nat: "Sounds like a great person."

Steve: "She is."

He kissed her, romantically, sweetly and she kissed him back, grabbing the back of his neck, pulling him closer, deepening the laid there a few minutes, in silence. Nat was the one looking at the ceiling now, and Steve was just staring at her, until he broke the silence.

Steve: "Nat, honey, you're the one lost in her thoughts now. What's bugging you ?"

Nat: "Do you really wanna marry me Steve ?"

Steve: "Of course ! Darling after all these years I can't believe that you still doubt my feelings towards you. I love you Nat."

Nat: "I don't doubt your feelings Steve. And I love you too, I really do. But I'm scared that marriage might change our relationship... And please can you be honest with me, will it change?"

Steve: "I can assure you, the only thing that will change is that I'll be able to call you my wife. That's it. And I'm always honest. You should know that now."

Nat: "You promise ?"

Steve: "I promise. Are you having second thoughts ?"

Nat: "No ! Not at all."

This talk actually released some pressure for both of them, and reassured them, well mostly her, that they were gonna be alright.
