We continue our journey into "Rouge and the Book of shadows" this time for chapter two and Rouge's first target
Let's get started
Chapter 2 Tide of terror
(Two days later)
After getting the file, the team went back to their hideout which was an abandoned warehouse (Kind of like the one from "Blade") the place was nice and secluded so for the next two days Rouge, Bentley and Murray stock up on supplies and come up with a plan of action, after having breakfast, the group set out for the first Fiendish five member who Rouge was reading up on as Murray was driving
(Rouge's P.O.V)
"The trip gave me the time I needed to study up on Sir Raleigh, the frog, as a young man, this hot-tempered frog grew tired of his life of luxury and privilege, however, when he tried his hand at a bit of piracy, he found it to his liking, Raleigh, who quickly became addicted to crime, was brought into the Fiendish five as chief machinist, where his evil, tinkering genius rose to new heights, the last know sighting of this mad machinist, was off the Southern coast of the Island of Wales, a small island, uncomfortably situated in the middle of the peerless, Wales triangle, according to rumors I've heard, those who pass by the Wales triangle mysteriously disappear, never to be seen again especially those who are carrying precious or valuable cargo either that's a coincidence or Raleigh is involved in this and he's taking the lives of innocent and honest people for money…that ends today"
(End of P.O.V)
After the van arrived at the destination, Rouge geared herself up for the mission at hand
"This is it, Rouge be careful and remember, if you need a hand you can call on me" Bentley told Rouge before she stepped out of the van and activated Bentley's drone
"Ten-four Bentley" Rouge replied
"I hope she's careful" Murray told Bentley
"I hope so to Murray, I hope so to" Bentley replied
"Game on" Rouge muttered to herself before she walked through the small cave until she reached the entrance road, she came across a couple of minor gates to keep people out and search lights but, it was nothing to her level of skills, eventually, she was overlooking what looked like a blimp out in the distance, over a cliff, she then spotted a blimp hovering in the distance which Bentley contacted her
"Bentley, I'm no genius with technology, but that doesn't look good, what is that thing" Rouge asked Bentley
"According to my amphibio-positioning system, that big blimp is where Raleigh is hiding out" Bentley answered
"Well, it looks like MORE than just a hideout to me" Rouge said
"And your spot-on Rouge, according to my readings, it's more than just a hideout, it's a storm machine, it's the reason why it never stops raining around here" Bentley answered
"That would explain all the wrecked ships down below, just thinking about the lost lives of those sailors…so sad" Rouge stated
"I agree, it is sad, but you need to focus for the moment, which begs the question why would Raleigh want bad weather at his own hideout twenty-four-seven" Bentley asked
"No idea, but rain, shine, hurricane, tidal wave, earthquake or anything else I'm gonna get back what he stole and if Raleigh gets in my way…he's going down" Rouge stated before hanging up and continued onward until she eventually reached the end of the road and after picking a treasure key from a nearby guard and using it to unlock the gate, Rouge traveled into a small cave where she pushed through and came up to the massive boat that floated under the storm machine
"Now were getting somewhere" Rouge muttered before Bentley contacted her
"So far so good, Rouge, but do not get comfortable" Bentley said
"I know and by judging from what I'm seeing that blimp is the most secured location on the entire boat and if Raleigh is as smart as his police file says he is, then that's where I'll find him" Rouge stated
"Sound plan but it is DOOMED to failure" Bentley replied
"Why" Rouge asked
"Because it's impossible to get near him, to get access to his blimp, you would have to sneak through that high-voltage power tube, to do that without getting your fur singed" Bentley said
"UGH, I hate the smell of singed fur, it takes WEEKS to get the smell out" Rouge said
"Well, to get through it, you would need to destroy that power generator and to do that, you'll need at least two more of Raleigh's treasure keys, which are both HEAVILY guarded" Bentley explained
"Interesting, so when exactly are you gonna get to the impossible part you mentioned" Rouge asked
"FINE…but I WARNED you, the treasure key's you need are around in the area of the boat you'll be heading to, you might try looking around the area with your binocucom's, they're linked to the camera system in my drone overhead" Bentley explained
"Thanks" Rouge replied
"Don't thank me yet…it's YOUR funeral" Bentley said
"Oh, ye of little faith" Rouge said before hanging up, Rouge then then looked through a pair of binocucom's which connected to the camera on Bentley's drone, she spotted a whole bunch of security alarms that the guards could have access to
"Hmm, the guards have easy access to security alarms, should things go sideways…I better make sure I don't let them raise any alarms" Rouge muttered before she climbed up the massive boat side and took care of two guards, knocking them out before she arrived on deck and made her way to the first spot, which lead to the engine room
"EUREKA, Rouge, you're in the engine room, my analysis tells me that if you chase the spinning crank shaft back to its source, then you should not only find another of Raleigh's treasure keys but also sabotage his machines as well" Bentley called to Rouge through the earpiece
"That's what I like to hear" Rouge muttered before doing what she was advised and followed the crank shaft back to its source where she not only found another treasure key but also she sabotaged the storm machine and on the way, she found a vault that contained two of the several missing pages of the Book of shadows, which she packed in his vest for later, after she left the engine room and taking care of guards by knocking them out, she went for another key, which lead him to Raleigh's treasure room, which was FILLED with valuables
"Sweet MOMMA" Rouge said
"JACKPOT ROUGE, look at all this stuff…must be worth millions" Bentley said
"It maybe valuable stuff but you know what that means" Rouge asked
"Tighter security you better be extra careful to watch where you step in there" Bentley replied before Rouge as moved through the more secured location, while dispatching guards, by knocking them out, she eventually reached the end of the room where she not only found another vault with more pages but also another treasure key, next Rouge went to the furnace room where she could feel the heat for the entire place just rising up
"Whew, I feel like I'm in the middle of Summer with Winter clothes on" Rouge muttered as she fanned herself with her left hand
"Interesting, according to my instruments, the heat signatures in this place are off the charts, this must be the power source for the storm machine" Bentley called
"Then let's turn off the heat" Rouge replied before she effortlessly went through the corridor until she reached another key and page of her families missing book, she then came to the fourth location in the area, which would give her a total of four treasure keys, however before Rouge could move on, she accidentally scared some mice which scarred to get away from Rouge, they ran onto a carpet and suddenly got pinned down by some rapid moving dart projectiles
"Whoa, those rats got pegged I mean I don't like rats, but I wouldn't wanna get darted like THAT" Rouge stated
"Raleigh appears to have booby trapped this entire area" Bentley stated
"Good, it wouldn't have been any fun if it was too easy" Rouge said
"Rouge, if you set even one foot on that carpet, forget about being a master thief, you'll be a master dart board" Bentley replied, Rouge then looked around and spotted a nearby barrel
"Well then, how about I use that barrel here for protection against the darts" Rouge asked
"I don't know, it looks awfully risky and VERY unsanitary" Bentley said
"It can't be any worse than when I had to jump into the sewers to avoid being caught by Raven…GAH, I stunk for a week" Rouge said
"Well…if you think it'll hold" Bentley said
"Only one way to find out" Rouge replied before she hung up and jumped into it and it worked like a charm, after making her way through another corridor, she found another page and another key, no problem, after getting out and having enough keys, Rouge approached the power source for the tunnel, leading to another section of the boat, Bentley then contacted her
"ASTONISHING, all my calculations lead me to believe that you would fail to knock out that generator" Bentley called through the earpiece's
"Just goes to show you, I make my own luck" Rouge replied
"Yeah, well, here's a REAL test for you, I found a way up to the blimp…BUT unfortunately, it's a gamble" Bentley said, Rouge then looked at what was obvious
"Hold on, your telling me I have to shoot myself out of that cannon to get into the blimp" Rouge asked
"I'm afraid that's the only way" Bentley answered
"NOW WE'RE TALKING" Rouge grinned in anticipation
"You're really starting to scare me girl…ANYWAY, to get inside that thing, your gonna need all SEVEN of Raleigh treasure keys" Bentley told Rouge
"No problem, just point me in the right direction and then leave Raleigh to me" Rouge replied before she set out to the first location, where she had to dive for the key, taking it away from a bunch of trained crabs that Raleigh uses to keep his sunken treasure, thanks to Kai's training as a kid, she had to use a special miniature submarine and it took some quick maneuvering but, she got it, next she went to the "The gunboat graveyard" where she maneuvered around a bunch of guards and security systems in order to get at the final key and another page of the Book of shadows, now with all seven of the treasure keys in her possession, she unlocked the cannon, aimed it and took a breath
"This is it Rouge watch yourself in there Raleigh is a genius, meaning he's probably smarter than you" Bentley told Rouge through the earpiece's
"Well, that's confidence for you" Rouge muttered as she loaded up and lit the cannon, she was then launched up to the storm machine and crashed through the window
(In the storm machine)
Rouge crashed into the storm machine, where she came face to face with the frog man himself, Raleigh (With a more humanoid, anthro-like animal body)
"How delightful…we have a guest…the only thing is…I HATE UNEXPECTED GUESTS" Raleigh shouted
"Yeah, well, let me tell you something Raleigh you kill my parents and steal what's mine and better damn-well expect company" Rouge replied, the frog was confused at first until he suddenly remembered the bat girl before him
"Wait a minute…you're the spitting image of your mother, now I remember" Raleigh said
"Now you got it" Rouge answered
"Ah, what a beauty she was, if it wasn't for our leader's orders to kill her and your father, your mother would have made quiet a bride for me she was TRULY a beautiful jewel" Raleigh said
"You…you EVER…talk about my mom like that again and you don't even wanna KNOW WHAT I'LL DO TO YOU" Rouge shouted
"Oh my dear girl, I must say this is so embarrassing, how sloppy of me not to finish the job, obviously we should have taken care of you and your sister as well, why our leader chose to leave you two alone is BEYOND me" Raleigh said
"That was your first and last mistake, Raleigh I've come for something and your gonna give it to me" Rouge said, Raleigh then got up and grabbed a walking cane from beside his throne
"Oh…and you thought just by coming here and making trouble that I would just…HAND over the piece of the Book of shadows to you without a fuss" Raleigh said
"I didn't expect it to be easy but the thought of kicking your sorry tail for what you've done and for making that compliment about my mother…it'll be WORTH IT" Rouge said, Raleigh then drew his cane sword
"Well then, allow me to correct the mistake my leader made by what…BLOATING TO GARGANTUAN SIZE, and squashing you, like the insignificant bug that you are" Raleigh said before jumping up high and landing on the floor across from Rouge
"Bring it on blowhard" Rouge replied as they both charged at each other, the two tangled with each other with equal skills, Raleigh using his tongue as a weapon as well as his cane sword and increased size but Rouge proved to be more than a match for him, Rouge then jumped on Raleigh and hooked his neck into the crook of her cane before she flipped back and threw Raleigh into a wall, defeating him
"GAH, blast it all…you've beaten me" Raleigh stated
"Your reign of terror over the seas ends today, Raleigh no more will you threaten the sailors who slave all day, working they're fingers to the bone to earn what little keep that they have" Rouge told him
"Why would one want to work for a living when it was SO much more fun to steal it" Raleigh asked
"Those people didn't have the luxury of being born into money and power you had it made and you went out on a limb all because you were BORED" Rouge asked
"Oh, I had it all girl…money…power…infamy…brains and then YOU showed up…how can someone who's had NONE of it, possible beat me" Raleigh asked
"That's the thing about money, Raleigh, it can corrupt people and it has been ever since you first set sail for pirating" Rouge told him
"You little twit, I'm not the ONLY pirate out there you know, there are hundreds of others out there, why bother with me when they're out in the world" Raleigh asked
"That maybe so…but they aren't the one's that I'm after, you killed dozens if not HUNDREDS of men just for the "fun" of it, that mind of yours maybe smart but it's twisted" Rouge said
"Tell me…what is your…name, girl" Raleigh asked
"It's Rouge" Rouge answered
"You will regret messing with the Fiendish five" Raleigh told her
"I think it's more on the line of you guys regretting that you decided to mess with our family" Rouge told him
"Go ahead and gloat all you want, Rouge, your no match for Muggshot, my villainous cohort in Utah, you'll see, Mesa city is so well guarded a SNAKE couldn't slither in without setting off alarms" Raleigh said
"This is for what you said about my mom" Rouge said before she did a spinning heel kick to Raleigh's head knocking him out cold
"That felt good" Rouge said before she took back the page of the Book of shadows Raleigh took, Rouge then left the boat but due to the untimely arrival of Raven along with the police, the escape wasn't easy, but Rouge managed to get back to Murray and Bentley
"You got it" Murray asked
"Got it and Raleigh's out of commission" Rouge answered
"Good, come on Murray, let's get out of here" Bentley told Murray
"You GOT IT" Murray replied as he started up the van and took off like a bat out of hell (No pun intended)
(Hours later, back in Paris)
After returning to their Paris hideout, Rouge added the missing page that Raleigh took from the Book of shadows
(Rouge's P.O.V)
"Raleigh's section of the Book of shadows held detailed instructions on how to perform my ancestor Rioichi's Ninja spire jump, a technique that he developed when he lost the usage of his wings and needed an edge in the era of Feudal Japan, he developed the Ninja spire jump and he inscribed the instructions into his section of the book, figured if I ever lose the usage of my wings either temporarily or permanently, it would be useful, finding a way off Raleigh's boat got a little tricky with the untimely arrival of my dear sister, Raven it's developed into a bad habit of her's but failing to find me she busted Raleigh and his crew putting em in jail, with the storm machine out of commission boats found their way back onto the ocean and the terror of the Wales island faded from memory, this is only the beginning and I intend to see it through to the end"

After restoring the pages, Rouge then stripped down to her sleep wear and settled herself into bed, thinking about what was gonna happen when she went after the second member of the Fiendish five but it would only be a matter of time before she would have to find out for herself
"One down…four to go" Rouge muttered before she drifted off to sleep
