And I am sorry for the wait, my schedule in real life has been nothing if not packed to the max but as All might would say
I AM HERE!
Today is the third chapter of "Rouge and the Book of shadows" where we'll be tracking down and putting a stop to the one bulldog in all of fiction that we can both sympathize with and detest, Muggshot
Let's get into the madness
Chapter 3 Sunset snake eyes
(Two days later)
After two days-worth of investigation and planning, Rouge, Bentley and Murray set out to the next target on the list, which was in the good, old U.S.A, on the trip there, Rouge read up on what she needed to know
(Rouge's P.O.V)
"It had been a while since I had been back in the good, old U.S.A…next up…the notorious, Muggshot, ruthless muscle of the Fiendish five, when he lacked in brains, he made up for it in sheer brawn, turns out he wasn't always that way, he grew up as the runt of the litter, the neighborhood weakling, the only friends he could turn to were usually found on the big screen, it was there, he spotted his first gangster and he knew instantly, that's what he wanted to be, he spent the rest of his youth working real hard to get there, fueled on his dreams of great power and respect, with enough perspiration, he realized that dream, he became a hard boiled, street brawling, tough as nails gangster, to insure that he would NEVER be picked on or pushed around ever again…so, he's hold up in Mesa city, eh, I've always wanted to go that thriving, American boom town"

As the team van came up to the location where Muggshot took over, Rouge then jumped out of the van before she walked up to and climbed up the huge, welcome gate to the city before Rouge launched Bentley's drone overhead and what they saw on the other side of the gate wasn't pretty
"Damn" Rouge muttered
"Rouge, I thought you said Mesa city was gonna be loud and busy, this place looks more like a ghost town" Bentley stated
"Somethings happened here, where is everyone" Rouge asked
"I don't know but this place is starting to give me the creeps, what do you say we take off" Bentley asked
"And miss all the fun that's to be had in this place, besides I wanna try out the new move I got from Rioichi's section of the Book of shadows" Rouge said
"The mean the Ninja spire jump" Bentley asked
"Yeah, I see PLENTY of chances to use it here besides I got you and Murray backing me up" Rouge said
"Alright, alright, just be careful when you get in there" Bentley told Rouge
"Will do" Rouge replied before hanging up, Rouge moved forward over obstacles and quickly ascend and maneuver over whatever was in her way, Muggshot's men weren't as smart as Raleigh's men, but they were tough and has gangster-like intuition and they were ruthless, Rouge even ran into some new security system
"Hey Bentley, what's up with those flashing lights" Rouge asked
"The latest in high-tech security, electronic floor sensors, step on em and this place is bound to be crawling with guards in a manner of minutes" Bentley answered
"So, keep off em, got it" Rouge stated
"They're safe to walk on while they're flashing but it means they're about to switch to a new sector, be careful" Bentley replied before hanging up, Rouge then he ran up a nearby wall and climbed on a pipe across the ceiling to get over the sensors, she continued until she got the local treasure key and got to Muggshot's hideout, which was a giant casino building, Bentley then contacted Rouge
"This Muggshot certainly isn't shy, okay, so we know he's here, somewhere but how are we supposed to find him, Mesa city is a BIG place" Bentley asked
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but would you say that those with too much self-pride usually express it TOO much" Rouge asked
"Yeah, so" Bentley asked
"Then, if I was him, I would not only live in a building that has his name plastered on it with giant, Neo lights and the fact that he's a bulldog, he would want to live in a giant, fire hydrant" Rouge answered
"Sound logic, okay, the only problem is now you have to find a way to break into the buildings base" Bentley stated, Rouge then spotted something that could help her
"Oh, I'm pretty sure I'll think of something" Rouge replied before she went to what he saw, a propped up car who's back tires were going full throttle and it was right in the path of the door blocking the doorway into the building, all Rouge needed was two more treasure keys to unlock it, she then set out to find one and the one he got to first, Bentley called for an update
"Rouge, there's a treasure key nearby, you just have to follow these back alleys until you reach the end, my scanners show it's there" Bentley said
"Got it, thanks Bentley" He replied before he started making his way through some back alley where she came to an overview and she took out her binocucom
"Rouge, Murray is in position to make a run for the treasure key that's in the general area, unfortunately he'll have to make it past some of the local guards" Bentley explained
"So, what do I do" Rouge asked
"Lay down some covering fire from the nearby blasting station and make sure Murray gets to the key safely" Bentley answered as Rouge spotted the rapid fire, rocket launcher station nearby
"You got it" Rouge said as she mounted up
"You got my back Rouge" Murray called through the earpieces
"Just call me your guardian angel, Murray, good luck" Rouge answered, like Bentley said a bunch of guards were trying to stop Murray from getting to the treasure key in the area but thanks to Rouge and the blasting station she was able to keep the dogs away from the hippo and take the key
"WE DID IT" Murray yelled
"Great job Murray" Rouge said, the two meet up and Murray handed Rouge the key before she moved onward, coming to some of the casino's and encountered several flashlight guards
*Hmm…better be careful around these guards, no doubt Mugshot has them hunting like a wolf pack* Rouge said in her mind as she carefully maneuvered around them, avoided the security systems, even the flooded floors that were running with electricity, she had to use some swinging lines like a rope swings to cross gaps seeing as how there were no updrafts to fly over with her wings but she made it and got to the treasure key and another page of her family book, she soon exited the area and arrived at a spot, overlooking a VERY big racing track, but she also saw something else, it was Murray in the team van
"What in the" Rouge muttered before calling Murray on her Binocucom
"Murray what's going on down there" Rouge asked
"Well, I drove to this hotdog stand for a quick snack and the next thing you know I'm getting challenged to a race by the GANGSTER DOGS" Murray answered
"Oh Murray, always thinking with your stomach…well, is there a treasure key in it for the winner" Rouge asked
"Yeah, three times around the track for a key" Murray answered
"Then this one's all you Murray, GO GET EM" Rouge answered
"You got it Rouge" Murray answered, Murray put his van and his driving skills to the test against the gangster dogs and after three laps, the hippo claimed his prize
"AWESOME JOB MURRAY" Rouge yelled
"Thanks" Murray replied, after Murray meet up with and handed off the treasure key to Rouge and leaving the race track Rouge took off to trace down another key, which took her to one of the large rooftop scenes, the treasure key was right in her line of sight, but the problem is that it was under bulletproof glass, Bentley then called
"Forget it, Rouge nothing you got can break through glass THAT thick" Bentley said, Rouge then looked around and saw a huge, wrecking ball, hanging above her
"That JUST might work, Bentley nothing I got is able to crack it but…how about that wrecking ball up there" Rouge asked
"Yeah, that'll do the trick" Bentley replied, Rouge dealt with guards and managed to get into the wrecking ball control systems, she then moved it over the glass
"This is REALLY gonna rock the house" Rouge stated as she dropped the ball and broke the glass, revealing the key, which she took, next was another rooftop scene, she soon went back to the car that was still suspended and unlocked the controls for the lift holding it up
"Sound the charge" Rouge muttered as she kicked the jack out from under the car and it screeched loud enough to wake the dead, Rouge covered her face as it went flying backwards and bulldozed through the barricade
"THAT WAS AWESOME" Murray shouted through the earpiece
"Well, that's one way of making an entrance" Bentley added as Rouge headed inside only to be greeted by the biggest, ugliest mug of Muggshot
"UGH, what an UGLY mug" Rouge grunted at the sight of Muggshot's GIANT face
"I agree, that is seriously ugly but, the bright side is that behind that ugly mug, is the elevator that takes you up to Muggshot's private penthouse" Bentley said
"Let me guess, I'm gonna need all seven of his treasure keys to do that" Kai asked
"Obviously" Aria answered
"No problem and once I get the rest, then I can air my complaints to the big guy himself" Kai stated, he soon took to another rooftop where he got past the guards, thanks to some hanging wires, Kai managed to use them to swing from edge to edge and took another key, just one more for the collection to collect, however, this encounter was different
"Well, well, well, well…look what the bat dragged in" A familiar voice called out, Rouge looked up to see Raven on top of one of the alleyways
"Oh MAN…hey sister, I hope that you still ain't sore about me stealing your file" Rouge said
"Don't push it, I'm mighty testy right now" Raven said with her shock pistol trained on Rouge
"I would be a bit testy to" Rouge said
"You made me look like a fool to my police chief after I told him about it…but that's not important right now" Raven said
"And I am, aw I didn't know you still cared" Rouge said
"Cute, now put your hands up right NOW" Raven said
"How did you even figure out that I would be here" Rouge asked
"Raleigh spilled the beans after he recovered from the beating you gave him and I'm charging you for assault and trespassing" Raven said
"Sis, don't you know about Raleigh's connection to what happened to our paren" Rouge was gonna say parents but Raven shot at her foot to which Rouge dodged
"SHUT UP, DON'T TALK ABOUT THEM…you're the ONLY thing that I'm concerned about RIGHT now" Raven said as she fired more shots at her sister only for Rouge to duck behind cover
"I SERIOUSLY don't need this right now" Rouge muttered before she looked to see an opened garage door
*That'll do* Rouge said in her mind before darting into the open garage door
"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY THAT EASY" Raven yelled before she started chasing Rouge through garages, through alleyways, over obstacles and all the while she kept trying to shoot Rouge, who eventually was almost near the treasure key needed but she needed to lose Raven before she took the key and that was easier said than done, she knew all too well how stubborn and tenacious her sister is, Raven seemingly had Rouge cornered as she took up a position on a upper level looking down at Rouge and trying to shoot her
"Nowhere to squeeze your way out of this time, sis, just give it up your coming back with me wither you like it or NOT" Raven yelled, Rouge looked around for a way out and he noticed that the upper level was being supported by wooden beams that looked rotten, on the verse of collapsing then she thought of something
"Sorry about this Ray-Ray" Rouge muttered as she used her cane to pull down all six beams making the whole upper walkway come crumbling down
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH" Raven yelled as she fell and was suddenly buried under some rubble
"Ray-Ray, you okay in there" Rouge asked
"GET ME OUT OF HERE" Raven yelled through a small opening in the rubble
"She's okay thank goodness" Rouge muttered before she went for the treasure key
"It should take you at least a couple hours to dig yourself out of that rubble by then I'll be gone" Rouge said
"You would leave me here, your own SISTER" Raven asked, Rouge then stopped in her tracks, she has ALWAYS let her heart direct her steps and she knew what Rouge valued the most, her family and they're fathers legacy, Raven and Rouge were family, the only family either of them had left in the world
"Normally I wouldn't but I know you too well Raven, you value your JOB over our sisterhood, if you didn't value your badge more than me I WOULD help you out of there but even if I did you would slap the handcuffs on me right then and there, so you'll be there for a while…but seeing as how I don't want you dead" Rouge said as she spotted a nearby crowbar and threw it into the hole of the rubble so Raven could grip it
"With that you should be able to get out" Rouge said before turning and walking away
"ROUGE…ROUGE" Raven yelled as her sister walked out of hearing range, now with all seven treasure keys in hand, Rouge went back to the casino, opened the elevator control panel and summoned the elevator that would bring her up to the top of Muggshot's penthouse
"Time to show this guy whose top dog around here" Kai said before he took the elevator up, the thief encountered the big dog himself where he noticed the bat thief
"WHAT THE…wait a minute, you know my boys have been talking about some big, mysterious dude, running around, cracking skulls and…AND…and THIS IS IT…you're the monkey wrench in my operation, some SCRAWY BAT GIRL WITH A STICK…wait a second…I've seen that stick before" Muggshot stated
"Maybe when my father hit you in the nuts with it" Rouge said
"YOUR FATHER…WOW, so you're the little bat girl from all those years ago and all grown up…grown up rather nicely I might add, bet you get a LOT of attention from the boys" Muggshot said, checking out Rouge's curves
"I'm gonna forget you said that and kindly ask for you to hand over what you stole" Rouge said
"That old, worn down book…what was it called again" Muggshot asked
"The book of shadows" Rouge answered
"Whatever, it's got a lot of nice pictures but WAY too many big words" Muggshot said
"Well seeing as how you have the I.Q and attention span of a five-year-old, you don't mind just handing it over, nice and peaceful like" Rouge asked
"HA, HA, what are you kidding…you break into MY PLACE, steal MY STUFF, trash the joint, I feel transgressed and violated" Muggshot stated as he walked ON HIS KNUCKLES LIKE A GORILLA to Rouge's level and drew his guns from his back
"But I tell you what…surrender nice and peaceful like and I MIGHT just make you my personal show girl, why waste those gorgeous features of yours, what do you say hot cheeks" Muggshot asked
"Hold up, I'm gonna barf" Rouge said, disgusted by his offer
"WHY YOU…FINE, if you won't play nice…LET'S ROCK" Muggshot yelled, firing shots into the ceiling, the two charged, Muggshot wasn't as smart as Raleigh but he was much stronger and more vicious in combat, the fighting was even taken to an upper, second level of the room but thanks to Rouge's cunning, she was able to outsmart the big bruiser after kicking the last of Muggshot's guns away before she baited him into charging at her but Rouge slipped under Muggshot and user a rope she brought along with her to wrap around one of Muggshot's ankles as she tied the other end to a solid surface, she then kicked Muggshot off the edge of the second floor
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" Muggshot yelled as he fell, but before he hit the ground he was suspended up in the air, Rouge then glided down to the lower level
"This…this is impossible, a big, strong bruiser like me, being beat by some BROAD…this…THIS ISN'T RIGHT" Muggshot stated as he slowly swung back and forth
"You know something…I feel a little sorry for you, being bullied and picked on, simply because you were small…I get that, but what you did to the people of Mesa…that is where my sympathy ends" Rouge told him
"I don't…need your touchy, touchy feelings, I got respect, I got strength and power" Muggshot replied
"Correction, you NEVER had it, not true power anyway…and respect…it has to be earned" Rouge rephrased
"GAH, well, let me tell you, you little runt, you want all that STUPID picture book…your gonna have to go down to Haiti and cross paths with Mz. Ruby and then believe you me…you don't wanna be YOU" Muggshot said before Rouge knocked him out with a kick to the head before she took Muggshot's stolen Book of shadows page, after exiting the place which was slowly being surrounded by the police force that Rouge knew her sister radioed in, she got to the van
"Two out of five boys, Murray HIT IT" Rouge told Murray
"HANG ON" Murray yelled before stepping on the gas hard and taking off
(Paris hideout)
After getting home, Rouge needed a bath she felt dirty after what Muggshot told her, so after a nice, hot shower and some food, she sat down to further restore the Book of shadows
(Rouge's P.O.V)
"Muggshot's section of the Book of shadows contained an entry from my gunslinging ancestor Tennessee Kid, his specialty was the rail walk and rail side techniques, making a use of the various railroads that were around in the Old West he figured it would be PERFECT for sliding, he was grinding rails even before skateboards were invented, how's that for thinking ahead of the rest of the world, these moves were perfected through a lifetime of theft in his day, getting out of town in Mesa proved to be way more challenging than getting in, having just missed us, my dear sister went for the next, best things and hauled that walking, steroid case off to jail, I would say I hope time in jail would teach him some manners on how to talk to a lady but I wouldn't bet money on it, with Muggshot's gambling empire shut down, Mesa city citizens soon returned home, while me and boys well we enjoyed the rest of our stay in America and now are only three members of the Fiendish five left"

With the Book of shadows restored a little bit more, Rouge got ready for bed, if Muggshot's threat about Mz. Ruby being worse than either him or Raleigh were even half true, she needed to be ready
And that my people, is another chapter down for the count
