Black Rose Dragon breathed out a jet of black flames that cut through Misty's monster before carving a trench in the dirt.

Leo: Woah, Black Rose Dragon's attack was real!
Luna: Which means Akiza's using her psychic powers again.
Akiza: I end my turn, you're up little brother.
Alastor: Thank you. I draw, but since your spells are still active, it returns to my deck. Since I control no monsters, I can special summon Evil HERO Infernal Prodigy from my hand.

Alastor: And now I sacrifice him to summon my Evil HERO Earth Shaker.

Misty: Looks like it's time for me to get serious. Come forth, ancient seal!
She raised her hand, causing the lizard geoglyph to appear around them.
Misty: I draw. But due to my Sad Story spell combo, the card I've drawn is automatically returned to my deck. During my standby phase, I activate the effect of Dragon Queen in my graveyard. By sending my Sorrowful Memories spell card to my graveyard, I can summon her back to the field.

Misty: And now that she's back, I play the Reptilianne Rage equip spell. This will give her 800 more attack points.

Misty: Now attack Black Rose Dragon!
Akiza: Not so fast, I play the trap card Rose Blizzard, which puts your monster in defense mode, cancelling your attack.
Alastor: Which allows me to play this, the trap card known as Tragedy. If your monster in attack mode changes to defense mode, all the monsters on your field in defense mode are destroyed.
Misty: So you both managed to evade that one. But because of Reptilianne Rage, one of your monsters loses 800 attack points, and I choose Black Rose Dragon.

Misty: I set one card face-down and end my turn.
Leo: This is getting intense.
Yusei: Leo, Luna!
Leo: Yusei, Akiza and Alex are dueling, but they're not themselves.
Yusei: I know. We have to figure out how to snap them out of it.
Akiza: It's my move Misty. Now Black Rose Dragon, attack Misty directly!
Misty: I activate the Magic Cylinder trap card, so your attack is negated, and you take damage equal to your monster's attack points.
Alastor: I play the Engagement Destiny spell card. This will halve the damage to Akiza, but I receive the other half.
Akiza: 3200 LP
Alastor: 1100 LP
Akiza: I summon Dark Verger in defense mode and end my turn.
Alastor: My move. I play the spell card Riryoku. With it I can transfer half the attack points of one monster on the field to another monster of my choosing for this turn. Since I don't think Akiza will mind, I transfer half of Black Rose Dragon's attack points to Earthshaker this turn.

Alastor: Now attack Misty with Molten Rage!

Alastor: I place one card face-down and end my turn.
Misty: It's my move. And during my standby phase, I activate Dragon Queen's special ability. So by sending my Sad Story – Unwavering Truth to the graveyard, she revives once again. Next I summon Reptilianne Gardna in defense mode.

Akiza: Thank you, I draw. And I play the Fragrance Storm spell card. By destroying Dark Verger, I can draw a card, and if I happen to draw a plant type monster, I can draw again. The card I've drawn is Copy Plant, meaning I can draw again. And now I'll summon Copy Plant in defense mode.

Alastor: And due to his special ability, I can add Dark Fusion from my deck to my hand. I place one card face-down and end my turn.
Misty: I draw! This duel is over. First, I activate Dragon Queen's effect again, allowing her to be revived by sending Atrocious Day to the graveyard.
Alastor: That dragon just doesn't know when to quit.
Misty: Now I play the Advance Force spell card. Due to its effect, if I sacrifice Dragon Queen for a summon, it counts as two monsters, which means I can sacrifice it in order to summon Earthbound Immortal Ccaryhua!

Yusei: We've gotta stop them!
Sayer: Wait. Yusei, didn't you say your duel disk has a live feed function?
Yusei: Wait, I get it.
He engaged the feature and held his duel disk up to Sayer.
Sayer: Misty, I need you to listen to me.
Misty: Sayer? I thought Carly took care of you.
Sayer: Misty, you have to know the truth about your brother. He's alive, and he's okay!
Misty: What?! You're lying to me!
Sayer: Please listen. It happened the day Akiza tore up downtown Domino. Your brother was in the crowd and wound up being trampled as people were fleeing. We found him and sent him to one of our facilities for treatment.
Misty: Then why did I never hear from him again?
Sayer: When your brother came to, he couldn't remember anything, and he had only just joined the Arcadia Movement, so we had no records of any family. I'm truly sorry you thought you had lost him, but you must believe me when I tell you that your brother is okay! I can even take you to where he is myself.
Misty: Toby, you're really okay. Forgive me Akiza. It wasn't your fault, and I am so sorry. And Alex, I'm so sorry for what I've done to you and your parents.
Little did she know that Alex heard her in his subconscious. Alastor's armor dissolved, and when it faded away, his eyes opened to reveal that Alex was back in control.
Alex: I heard what you said Misty, and I forgive you.
Misty: Thank you, but I'm afraid the best atonement I can offer you is my surrender.
Suddenly, purple mist began to come off Misty as a voice spoke in her mind.
?: I will not allow you to forfeit this duel.
Alex: Misty, you have to fight it!
Misty: I can't, the darkness controlling me is too powerful.
?: You must defeat them. You must defeat them both!
Yusei: Akiza, you have to snap out of it! Akiza!
Akiza: I know that voice. Yusei?
She blinked for a few moments, returning to her senses and saw Misty across the field.
Misty: Akiza, Alex, I can no longer stop this duel of my own will. The darkness is too strong.
Akiza: Don't give in!
Alex: You can fight it!
Misty: It's too powerful, I can't fight it any longer! So I think I'll fight you instead Signer, and send you to the Netherworld.
Yusei: You two have no choice but to finish this duel!
Alex: We plan on it. Although only one of us might make it out of this.
Misty: Now Ccaryhua, attack Akiza directly!
Luna: Oh no, if this connects, Akiza will lose!
Alex: I activate the trap card Krystal Avatar!
His trap changed into a crystalline monster and stood in front of Akiza.

Alex: This trap can only be played when my opponent declares a direct attack with a monster that has more attack points than my life points. Now Krystal Avatar's attack points become equal to my life points, and it becomes your attack target instead of Akiza. And if you destroy it, you take damage equal to its attack points.

Leo: But wait, if Ccaryhua attacks it, then Alex-
Yusei: Alex you can't!
Alex: This is my choice Yusei. I know you can beat her Akiza. I love you sis.
Ccaryhua brought his fist down on Krystal Avatar, causing shards of it to strike Misty and Alex, knocking Alex to the ground.
Alex: 0 LP
Misty: 800 LP
Akiza ran over to Alex and held him in her arms.
Akiza: Why did you sacrifice yourself for me?
Alex: You're like a sister to me. And besides, I'd rather I be the one to lose instead of you. I know you can win.
He dissolved into shadows, leaving nothing but his duel disk behind.
Akiza: No, noooooo!
Misty: How pathetic. Sacrificing himself just to prolong your suffering. I place a card face-down and end my turn.
Akiza: He wasn't pathetic. That act wasn't out of foolishness, it was out of love and trust. Alex trusted me to beat you, and that's what I'm going to do.
Misty: Then show me what you can do Signer.
Akiza: With pleasure, I draw. And first I activate Copy Plant's special ability, making it level 2 just like my Dark Verger. Next I summon Hedge Guard in attack mode.
Level 3/Earth/Plant

Akiza: With it on my field, I play the Shining Rebirth spell card. By sending the necessary monsters from my field to the graveyard, I can synchro summon a monster that's in my graveyard. I send my three monsters to the graveyard to resurrect my Black Rose Dragon!

Akiza: And now I activate her special ability. When she's summoned, her special ability destroys every card on the field. But due to my Shining Rebirth, Black Rose Dragon can't be destroyed this turn.
Misty: I activate the Doom Gazer trap card! When an effect that destroys cards on the field is activated, I can activate this card and deal you 300 points of damage for every destroyed card. So with 8 cards being destroyed, you take 2400 points of damage.
Suddenly, Akiza could hear the real Misty's voice.
Misty: Akiza listen, you owe it to the Signers and Alex. You must keep fighting.
Akiza: Are you sure?
Misty: I'm positive. Don't let your brother's sacrifice be in vain.
Akiza: I play the trap Nature's Reflection! This trap reflects the damage from your effect right back at you.
A beam of energy shot from Misty's trap at Akiza, but a large stone appeared on Akiza's field, deflecting the blast back at Misty.
Misty: 0 LP
Winner: Akiza
Everyone ran up to Akiza.
Yusei: Are you alright?
Akiza walked past them and picked up Misty's locket before going back to pick up Alex's duel disk.
Akiza: Alex, I'll never forget you or the time we spent together.
Leo: Everyone look.
Trudge: The sun is setting, and the last tower hasn't been sealed.
Mina: At least everyone that been absorbed by the Earthbound Immortal have been returned, right?
In the streets of New Domino City, everyone who had been absorbed were reappearing in the streets, including Alex's parents.
Alexis: We're back.
Jaden: Alex and the others must have defeated the Dark Signers.
Suddenly in the Satellite, the ground began to shake violently.
Yusei: What's happening? Why is the ground shaking?
Suddenly a pillar of light appeared in New Domino City before morphing into a condor geoglyph.
Yusei: Another Dark Signer? But who could it be?
Akiza: I don't know Yusei, but I have a feeling we're about to find out.
