Chapter 5 - Does Will ever find out the secret?

"Look I know we all have more questions that we want to ask mom, but i don't think she is quite ready to relive whatever happened so can we get this plane moving and head home, i believe that we all could use some rest and maybe after that we can discuss this issue further."

With nods all around Helen goes up to the pilot to tell them that they are ready to leave and then they all make their way to their seats and begin their journey home.

They arrived back in Old City later that afternoon, once the got back to the Sanctuary they all headed off in their own directions. All them need the own time and space to be able to process all that had happened in the previous 24hrs. Helen went up to her room, she was glad that Ashley had stepped in to deal with Will's questions on the plane because in all honesty she doesn't believe she would have been able to say anything without giving something away that she didn't want too. After having a long hot shower to try and relieve the stress that she was currently dealing with, which didn't work, Helen went to bed deciding that she needed this day to just be over with and she would deal with it tomorrow.

Will on the other hand was not going to be getting any sleep again that night as he still had way too many questions going through his head, he decided he needed to do some research to see if he could find and information on who this Natalie person could be. Many hours later he was just getting more and more frustrated as he could find absolutely no information on this mystery women, he was sure that if Magnus had treated or cared for this person at any point there would have to be something in the Sanctuary database. But with every small thing he almost found it would then lead him in a total different direction and ended up with nothing. He decide to give up and head to bed to try and get at least a couple of hours of sleep, he would try again in the morning hopefully with a clearer head.

The next morning the Sanctuary team got straight back into their normal lives trying to get past the things they had dealt with. Will found Ashley and Magnus in Helen's Office, he could see that they were discussing something but he couldn't hear them as they were talking quietly. Once they noticed they were no longer alone they changed their conversation to current work related issues. Will thought it would be best if he didn't address the sudden change and decided it was just best to check in with both of them, and to see if there was any work that Magnus needed him to do before he headed to his office to catch up on some paperwork. Magnus told him that she didn't currently need him for anything, but she'll come and find him if she did. Still trying to get some answers for the questions he has in his head, he thinks that if he can't find anything in the database the only person he could possibly get the information from was Henry, as he was notorious for not being able to shut his mouth when he needed to, so that's where Will headed down to Henry's Lab. Upon arrive in Henry's Lab,

"Hey H, how's it going?" Will asked.

"Oh no you don't." Henry said he knew what Will would be down here trying to do, as Ashley had already found him that morning to give him a heads up that she thought that Will would be after answers, and that he would probably come and find him knowing that he would be the easiest to pry the information out of him.

"What do you mean?" Will asked.

"I know exactly why you would be here Will, Ashley also had a suspicion. So no I cannot tell you anything, I don't want to find out what they would do if they found out I told you anything. You'll just have to trust them and they will tell you when you need to know ok."

"Really Henry, you can't just give me at least a clue as to what's going on. I promise I won't do or say anything with that information so you don't get into trouble, I just want to make sure that everyone is ok."

"Will, knowing the two people you are asking about, I can honestly tell you that they are fine and each of them are more than capable dealing with what happen between them, they are both very strong women. One day I hope soon you'll see what I mean and be understand why the secret is there."

"Ok fine, but if you believe anything changes with that thought of your can you please tell me I want to help."

"Sure thing Will."

With that Will finally made he way to his office to deal with the dreaded paperwork he really didn't want to deal with, he gave in when talking to Henry that he was just not going to get the answers he wanted. Hoping that someday soon Magnus would trust in him enough to tell him what happened that day, and tell him who the hell Natalie was to them.

Back in Magnus's office she smiled when she received a text and saw who it was, opening the massage she was glad to see that her daughter had kept her promise. With the relief that Natalie was on her way there Helen got back to all the work she now had to catch up on after missing a day and a half of work. It was now the afternoon and Magnus was still in her office, she was currently having a meeting with Will to discuss the things that they had coming up in the next weeks. Natalie had just arrived at that point but as per usual when she visits the Sanctuary she checks the cameras to see where everyone is before entering so she doesn't get spotted by someone who shouldn't see her, she sees that her mother is in her office but sees that Will is with her so she can't go straight to her. She then looks to see if Ashley if floating around somewhere, but by the looks of it Ashley must of been needed elsewhere as she is not on any of the cameras. While looking through the different cameras Natalie comes across Henry who looks to be working on some new piece of equipment and she decides that's the safest place to wait while her mother is busy. Making her way to Henry's lab she's careful of being seen avoiding any cameras as much as possible able to. Arriving at the lab she sees Henry deep in concentration that he doesn't realise that he is now being watched, with this she decides to have a little bit of fun,

"Oh Henry you still working on this, I thought I told you I needed you to work on the security issues we've been having." Natalie says to him using her mothers accent to see his reaction.

"Wait, Magnus? What security issues I'm not aware of anything." Henry asked confused, if there was any security issues he would have been the first to know of them.

"Yes Henry we are having and issue of people able to enter the premises without any alerts going off."

"Huh what do you mean, there's no one here that shouldn't be." He said while moving to his computer to go through to the footage to see if anyone was there without authorisation. That's when he came across it the feed from Magnus's Office that was currently showing Helen and Will sitting having a conversation. He looks up to Natalie now knowing who is in front of him, she just looks back with a smile on her face.

"That is so not nice Nat." Henry whines, " It's not fair when you do that, you know how hard it is to tell you and Magnus apart."

"I know, I'm sorry Henry but I just had to you were to into what ever this is that your working on is." She says while making her way to the table where Henry's current project was sitting.

"Need any help while I wait for mom to be finished." She asked while pointing at the screen that shows the footage of Helen's office.

"Nah I'm all good, this isn't that important just fiddling if my spare time." he looks at her looking to at the bruises she had much like Magnus did after the other night.

"So are you alright Nat? I see that you looked to possibly have a few more bruises than the boss does."

"Oh yeah totally fine, you should know not much can keep me down right?"

"You Sure."

"Henry I'm fine, yes I might have copped a few more injuries than what mom did but I'm here, mom's here and we're all good there's nothing to worry about."

"The people that did this, are they going to try and do it again?"

"No those people will never be able to hurt mom or me ever again H, you don't need to worry about them anymore either."

"Do you think we'll ever find out about who and why this all happened?"

"I'm not sure, that's all up to mom. She's the one that has all the control about what happened that night, I'll just be there for her when she needs me or decides to tell people." She looks over to the computer to see that Will was now leaving Helen's office.

"Well it looks like mom's finished, I should really go see her."

"Oh yeah, you totally should go."

Natalie gets up and starts to make her way out,

"It's really good to see your ok Nat, and thanks for helping Magnus when we couldn't."

"It's good to see you too H, and it was nothing I was just lucky to know who was behind it."

With that she made her way to her mother's office.

Her mother was at her computer checking her emails when she got to the office, with her mothers back to the door Natalie took it upon herself to sneak up behind her mother and watch her work to see how long it would take her to notice her presence. She wasn't worried about the chance of Will coming back, as she checked on her way up here and saw that he had headed back to his office to see some patients that he had appointments for. Natalie was not surprised when it didn't take her mother long to retaliate she was no longer alone in the room, Helen turned around half expecting it to be one of her team coming in to check in but to her surprise it was Natalie standing there.

"Natalie, I'm so glad your here."she hugged her daughter very tightly cause Natalie to whimper a little.

"I'm glad your glad mom but, could you hug a little lighter." Helen pulled back slightly confused.

"Remember?" Natalie said pointing to her abdomen, "It's still a little tender."

"Oh sorry darling, I had forgotten. How is it?"

Natalie takes a temp back and lifts up her t-shirt to allow her mother to take a look at the wound she had, knowing that her Helen wasn't going to just take her word that it was fine without actually seeing it for herself.

"Well when I went by work this morning to pick up some things, I grab some more stuff to fix it up better, as you can see. It's definitely going to be tender for a few days but that nothing I can't deal with." She says while giving her mother a wink, knowing that her mother understood that she had a high pain tolerance like she did.

"Well despite that fact I would have preferred that you didn't get stabbed, I must say you really did a good job with this patch up."

"Patching up injuries like these are part of my job description remember, it's why they like me at work so much."

"Yes and I am so proud at all you've accomplished there reminds me why I wish things were different a that you could work here with me, you definitely could teach me a few things with you stitching technique. I mean wow with the way that you've done this you'll be lucky to only have a small scar considering the way it was before." Helen recovered Natalie's wound with the gauze and the stood back allowing her daughter to lower her t-shirt back down to its original position.

"So how long can you stay this time?" Helen asks.

"About a day or so, I'm going to see a friend for a couple of days as well before I have to be back at work." This disappointed Helen a little but she also understood that her daughter had her own life she had to get back to, so she would take all the time she could get.

Helen spent the remaining of that day and the next spending as much time as she could with Natalie between work and keeping her daughter hidden from Will. She knew that she would eventually have to tell Will about Natalie but that wasn't going to be anytime soon unfortunately, especially not with what had just happened. Right now she was even more protective of her daughter than ever before, even though she knew that Natalie was more than capable of protecting herself. She didn't want to risk the chance of anyone finding out at something bad happening again. That fear only worsened a few months later someone used her other daughter Ashley against her, Ashley was now lost to her the cabal had taken her and changed her their own little abnormal solider and using her to make copies and create and army of powerful soldiers.
