Alex continued to talk to her mother for a few moments longer, promising to come out and visit soon before hanging up. Piper was seated on the couch, playing with Angie's ear as she talked excitably to Polly.

"Yes. I said yes, you idiot!" cried Piper into the phone. She caught Alex's eye and held it as she listened to Polly."

"Well. I'm happy for you. Supercu-Alex, might not be my favourite person. But I know she makes you happy.

"She does!"

"Just don't expect me to throw you a fucking bridal shower and all that shit again. I won't be your wedding planner! I already did that once for you!" complained Polly into the phone. "Not again, Pipes!"

The two friends continued to talk before saying good night.

"Polly says hi!" spoke Piper as she rose to her feet and went over to sit in Alex's lap at the table.

"Should we call Nicky?" asked Alex.

"Ok," agreed Piper, turning slightly so she could see Alex better.

"She's goin' to be so fuckin' pissed at me," smirked Alex as she scrolled through her contacts in search of Nicky's number.

"Why?" asked Piper in confusion.

"Because I didn't tell her I was proposing!" replied Alex as she put the phone on speaker.

Piper's eyes widened in surprise at this. Alex usually told Nicky everything. Alex had been the one to go with Nicky to pick out rings for Lorna when she proposed. The blonde just figured that Nicky had done the same. "You didn't?" whispered Piper as the phone began to ring.

"No! I didn't tell anyone," confessed Alex quickly, giving Piper's waist a little squeeze before someone on the other end picked up.

"Vause! What's up?" spoke the woman on the other end. To a stranger, it would sound like Nicky had just either woken up or had just inhaled an entire package of cigarettes. To Alex and Piper, she just sounded normal in her thick New-York accent.

"We-have news!" corrected Piper, elbowing her girlfriend in the ribs. Alex shot Piper what was suppose to be an annoyed look but couldn't contain it. Her smile betrayed her as she looked at Piper.

"Blondie!" cried Nicky at hearing Piper suddenly. "How are things?"

"Things are good," replied Piper softly.

"Is Lorna with you?" asked Alex quickly before Nicky could say something.

"Yeah...why?"

"Put it on speaker! We have news to share!"

"You already fuckin' said that," murmured Nicky before she switched the phone to speaker.

"Hi!" came Lorna's high pitched voice suddenly over the phone speaker.

"Hi Lorna!" both Alex and Piper said at the same time.

"Okay, what's the news?" came Nicky's voice again.

"WE'RE ENGAGED!" cried Piper and Alex loudly at the same time into the phone.
