Back to Hogwarts
"We´re going to be late!" echoed through the burrow "Honestly, why do I even try anymore? It´s the same thing every single year." She continued to mutter under her breath.
"Sorry Mrs. Weasley, we´ll be right there. Ron just needs another minute." That was more of a reassurance to me and Hermione than to Molly however, since Ron needed a lot more than a minute.
"Why didn´t you get everything ready yesterday Ron?" Sometimes Hermione acts more like his mom than his girlfriend.
"Because yesterday I had plenty of time to get it done, so I just didn´t see the need for it"
"Honestly Ronald. You could at least do it with a spell so it doesn´t take forever." Ron just looked at her.
"you don´t think I would if I could?" Hermione let out a deep sigh and stepped forward. She mumbled something under her breath, although neither me or Ron could hear it, she gave him a dirty look, pointed her wand at his trunk and swished it.
In an instant everything started to pack itself into neat little piles and things were flying across the room. It took about twenty seconds altogether and Ron just looked at her in aww.
"A simple packing charm. Come on now. Before Mrs. Weasley gets to annoyed." A good choice by Hermione. When we walked into the living room Molly was pacing the room, muttering to herself.
Ginny was sitting on the couch looking bored.
"ah, finally. Is everyone packed and ready? Ok, then let´s get going. We are going to be apperating to the station today, and.." she turned to Ginny, pointing at her "...I will take you with side along apperition." I had forgotten that Ginny never learnt to apperate last term since it was so messed up.
"I will count to three, and then I´ll see you all at the station." Everyone nodded and Ginny took a firm grip on Molly´s arm. "one, two, three" and with that I turned on the spot and felt the familiar feeling of apperating. Just when I couldn´t take it any longer I felt my feet land on solid ground and air flowing into my lungs again.
I peered around me and spotted Ron, Hermione, Molly and Ginny. I started to walk towards them but stumbled over something, probably someone's trunk. I started to fall face first onto the platform but someone caught me and helped me to my feet again. When I turned around however, no one was there. Well there was a lot of people there since it is a train platform, but none of the people around me looked like they just helped me.
"Hello Harry" a familiar soft voice distracted me and I turned towards the sound of it.
"Oh, hello Luna. How was your holiday?"
"It was good. I helped dad rebuild the house" I felt a stab of guilt by that, since we were the ones who blew it up. Before I could answer however the train whistled and the conductor shouted at everyone to get on.
I got to the others, said a quick goodbye to Molly and we got on the train. Since there were more students than usually it was really hard to find a compartment. Almost at the end of the last cart we finally found an empty one and got in. It was just me, Ron and Hermione now because Ginny had seen some of her friends and had gone to sit with them.
We sat in silence for a few moments before Ron started talking.
"I can´t believe you guys broke up" Hermione gave him an exasperated look "I´m only saying, I mean you seemed to be so happy together" I gave him an amused look. Me and Ginny had broken up about a week ago and he hadn´t said anything about in since then so I was pretty prepared for this.
"Yeah, we were happy and I´ll never stop loving her, just not in that way. I mean we´re still friends and I hope nothing ever changes that." He still looked kinda sad tho so I thought it best to change the subject.
"I never thought we would be going back to Hogwarts"
"I know, right. I was so shocked when the letters came. But I think it´s good that they are inviting us back for another year since last year wasn´t the best. I wonder who else will be coming." Hermione jumped right on that subject. Ron made a disappointed face but didn´t want to push it so he also joined in. We hadn´t talked about this yet which is kind of a shocker, although we have had a lot going on outside of this.
"I wasn´t sure I was going to go back this year, but Hermione sort of made me do it" and with that they started their usual bicker. I was only half paying attention, in case one of them would say my name so I could pick a side.
Suddenly their bicker quieted down and they both stared at the compartment door. I had heard a small sound coming from there but I thought I had imagined it. Obviously I hadn´t tho since they heard it to. I looked over to the door and saw Malfoy standing there looking nervous.
"H..hey guys, uhm, Harry could I maybe borrow you for a minute?" he sounded really nervous and not at all like the Malfoy I knew. I looked over at Ron and Hermione, but they only stared at Malfoy in disbelief. I was a bit curious to what he wanted so I agreed.
"Sure Malfoy. Ron, Hermione, I will be back in a second." And with that I stood up and left the compartment with Malfoy. I followed him to the back of the train, which wasn´t very far from our compartment, and then he stopped and turned to face me.
"I just wanted to say sorry for everything that I have done to you. I have been a real jerk and I am really sorry, but I´m trying to leave that behind me and I would really like for us not to hate each other this year." That's not what I expected to hear from him and I was a little taken aback by it.
"I agree, that would be really nice." I stretched out my hand and he took it. He gave me a half smile. I turned and started to walk back to Ron and Hermione but after a few steps I turned around.
"Draco, I´m also sorry. You´re not the only one that has been a jerk." Then I continued back to my compartment.
The moment I stepped foot in there the questions started but I could not make out a single one of them since they talked over each other. I sat down, and I told them what he had said.
For once I was not the one keeping the subject of Draco Malfoy going for hours but rather the ones who usually complains about it. They talked about it the entire rest of the train ride and before I knew it we were getting off the train in Hogsmeade.
