Chapter 2 - Introductions
Walking through the campus is odd. I've been here before but at the same time, I have not.
I have been here when it is cold, the sky takes a lot longer to clear and all the students are wearing multiple layers.
I've been here before when it rains, when everyone is running around to get to a safe and dry space.
I've been here when it's hot, and everyone is walking around carefree, the trees are on their prettiest colors and there is buzz for the break that is coming.
I've been here for more than 24 hours straight, hidden in the library, trying to finish a final essay, surrounded by books, highlighters and post-its.
But I've never been here with a badge that says my name.
"Isabella Swan - Professor". It is weighing on my neck as I walk through campus again. Things have change, as one expects. The years have brought younger students, a new Starbucks, more buildings and less trees.
I find it odd seeing all the freshman walking around, in my mind I still am that young and hopeful, perhaps naive. But I am not, I'm 28 now and I am back here to teach. Now it is my turn to guide and teach them.
When I finally reach the office I'm supposed to knock, I take a big breath before doing it so.
"Come in" Aro Volturi, my supervisor says from the other side of the door.
As I walk in, I take in his office, I've been here before, when I was a student, all his books are still there and the mess of yet to be graded essays still exist. We never really discussed many things when I was here before.
But I did spend many months hiding things from him.
"Welcome back! I hear from other Professors that you were a wonderful student. I hope this time around you have an equally good experience, let me show you your office." he says as he starts to get up from his desk and guides me to door.
As soon as we get out, I feel you. I feel your eyes on me and I smell your cologne, the one I always lingered over.
"Oh, excellent! Miss Swan, let me introduce you to Professor Cullen, I am not sure if you ever crossed paths while you were studying here."
"Nice to meet you." You stretch out your left hand while your big green eyes are panicking.
"We have met." I say meeting your hand, feeling the cold of your silver ring against my fingers.
You squeeze my hand.
I let yours go.
NA.
I must say I did not go to college in the United States so I am sure that multiple things may not be feasible in terms of protocols, where I am from a 27 year old could be teaching in college as long as she has her Masters.
I'm planning to update daily until I reach to chapter 10.
I hope you like it, see you tomorrow.
