I was outside the TARDIS with Rose, Mum and Mickey ready to go.

"Have you got everything?" Mum asked me.

"I've got everything, don't worry." I told her.

"Be careful." Rose said and we all hugged each other.

"Rose, you could still come with us." I told her

"What and get and your and your husbands way. Just remember to come home." she told me.

"I will." I said giving her another hug.

:Okay, I'm going now. I love you!" I said kissing mum and Rose on the cheek.

"I love you." Mum told me.

"Love you, love you..." I told my family.

"I love you." Rose said.

"Bye." I called to them walking into the TARDIS with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face. I closed the door behind me and walked to the console. The Doctor noticed me and we beamed at each other. The Doctor pulled a lever with extra vigor. The two of us were operating the controls as the TARDIS flew in the vortex.

"So, where are we going?" I asked him.

"Further than we went when you were human." he told me grinning. I grinned back at him and we continued to fly our home.

We stepped out of the TARDIS onto a windy stretch of grass.

"It's the year five billion and twenty three... we're in the galaxy M87, and this... this is New Earth." he told me. He'd always been better than me at the history of the universe than I was. Where I was good he was excellent. We were looking on a beautiful city with flying vehicles zooming to and fro above our heads.

"That's just... that's-" I burst out laughing at the sight, happy to be here with him again.

"Not bad. Not bad at all!" he said nodding.

"That's amazing. I'll never get used to this. Never." I told him happily. "What's that smell?" I asked him and he bent down and pulled some grass up, showing it to me.

"Apple grass." he told me.

"Apple grass...!" I said moving my hair behind my ears.

"Yeah, yeah!" he said looking to the city.

"That's beautiful!" I said looking back it the city with him before looking back at him with a wide smile. "Oh, I love this. Can I just say travelling with you... I've always loved it." I said linking my arm with his.

"Me too." he said grinning at me. "Come on!" he grabbed my hand and we ran off down the hill. We stopped running after a few short moments and he took off his coat and he pulled me down next to him.

"So, the year five billion - the sun expands, the Earth gets roasted." he reminded me.

"That was our first date when I was human." I told him, smiling.

"We had chips!" he said and we laughed a little. "So anyway, planet gone, all rocks and dust, but the human race lives on, spread out across the stars. Soon as the Earth burns up - oh, yeah, they get all nostalgic - big revival movement... but find this place! Same size as the Earth... same air... same orbit... lovely! Call goes out, the humans move in!"

"What's this city called?" I asked him.

"New New York." he told me.

"Oh, come on." I said skeptically.

"It is! It's the City of New New York!" he told me before pausing to think for a moment. "Strictly speaking, it's the fifteenth New York since the original. So that makes it New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York." I smiled brightly at him. "What?"

"You're so different." I said remembering all his past regenerations.

"New New Doctor." he said and I giggled.

"Should we go and visit New New York - so good they named it twice?" I asked straddling him. I leaned down and kissed him deeply.

"Well - I thought we might go there first." he said motioning toward a large building in the distance on the coast with a green moon on the side of it. I got up then helped him up.

"A hospital? Why would we go there?" I asked him.

"I got this." he said pulling out his psychic paper. "A message on the psychic paper." I watched the words Ward 26 Please Come scrawled across the paper repeatedly. "Someone wants to see us." he said tucking it into his pocket.

"Hmm! And I thought we were just sight-seeing. Come on then!" I told him smiling, putting my arm through his. We happily walked to the hospital talking and laughing along the way.

"I hate hospitals." he told me as we walked inside.

"Bit rich given the name you chose." I told him.

"I can't help it! I don't like hospitals - they give me the creeps!" he told me.

"The Pleasure Gardens will now take visitors carrying green or blue identification cards for the next fifteen minutes. Visitors are reminded that cuttings from the gardens are not permitted." an announcement said.

"No shop. I like the little shop!" the Doctor told me.

"I know sweetie but not all hospitals were designed with you in mind." I told him.

"Cat nurse nuns." I said watching a nurse walk away from us. "Now that give me the creeps."

"Now, don't stare... think what you look like to them, all... Pink and yellow." he said looking me up and down. I looked down at my outfit to make sure it was viewing appropriate. Tight black pants, tight black tube top with a sweetheart neckline showing an ample amount of cleavage, black knee high boots. Easy to move around and fight in when needed to. "That's where I'd put the shop!" he said pointing over my shoulder. "Right there!" I turned and looked at where he was pointing. "Ward 26, thanks!" I turned and saw the lift door closing.

"Hold on! Hold on!" I said running to the lift, but it was too late the doors had closed.

"Oh, too late - I'm going up." I heard him say from the lift.

"It's all right, there's another lift." I told him pressing the button to bring the lift down.

"Ward 26. And watch out for the..." he called down to me but I couldn't hear the last word.

"Watch out for what?" I asked him, trying to listen for the word again.

"Th...!" he said but I couldn't hear him.

"The what?" I asked him again.

"The..." I never heard him finish his sentence and I stepped into the lift.

"Ward 26. Thanks." I said the door closed and the lift rose.

"Commence stage one - disinfection." I got soaked in the disinfectant and I jumped in shock. I ran my hands through my hair with my eyes screwed shut. A white powder puffed onto me and I kept my eyes shut so they didn't burn. A blow-dryer engaged and I dried my hair and clothes, fixing everything and checking my weapons. I stepped out from the lift to what seemed to be some sort of cellar.

"The Human child is clean." I turned to see a man standing a ways away from me.

"I'm looking for Ward 26." I told him.

"This way, Ashlee Tyler." He walked away and I drew my a gun before following him. I followed him through a corridor into a room where an old tape was playing. I looked at the party scene being projected onto the screen, everyone laughing and holding champagne.

"I mean, you never know what your life's going to be like! Ever! I'm bored with this drink." a blonde woman said handing her drink to someone. "Anyway- oh, hello darling! Now, don't! Stop it!" she laughed pushing a man playfully in the chest.

"Wait a minute... that's..." I spun behind me to see Cassandra as I'd seen her on Platform One with the man who led me here cowering beside her.

"Peekaboo!" Cassandra said smiling at me.

"Don't you come anywhere near me, Cassandra." I said holding up my gun.

"Why? What do you think I'm going to do? Flap you to death?" she asked me sarcastically.

"What about Gollum over there?" I asked her motioning to the man.

"Oh... that's just Chip. He's my pet." she told me.

"I worship the mistress!" he told me hiding behind his pole.

"Moisturize me, moisturize me..." she told him and he picked up a canister and squirted Cassandra with it. "He's not even a proper life-form. He's a force-grown clone. I modeled him on my favorite pattern. But he's so faithful. Chip sees to my physical needs."

"I do hope that means food. How come you're still alive?" I asked her.

"After you murdered me?" she asked me.

"That was your own fault." I reminded her.

"The brain of my mistress survived. And her pretty blue eyes were salvaged from the bin." Chip said and she looked flattered at him.

"What about the skin? I saw it, you got ripped apart." I said remembering the scene.

"That piece of skin was taken from the front of my body. This piece is the back." she told me and I laughed at the thought.

"Right! So you're talking out of your—"

"Ask not." she told me and I contained my laughter.

"The mistress was lucky to survive. Chip secreted mi'lady into the hospital." Chip told me.

"So they don't know you're here?" I asked them.

"Chip steals medicine. Helps mi'lady. Soothes her. Strokes her..." he said stroking her.

"You can stop right there, Chip." I told him.

"But I'm so alone, hidden down here... the last Human in existence..." she told me sadly.

"Don't start that again - they've called this planet New Earth!" I told her.

"A vegetable patch." she told me.

"And there's millions of Humans out there... millions of them." I said.

"Mutant stock!" she said.

"They evolved, Cassandra. They just evolved, like they should. You stayed still. You got yourself all pickled and preserved, and what good did it do you?" I asked her.

"Oh, I remember that night." I looked at the film happening behind me. "Drinks for the Ambassador of Thrace. That was the last time anyone told me I was beautiful. After that it all became... such hard work." she said and I looked at her again.

"Well, you've got a knack for survival - I'll give you that." I told her.

"But I've not been idle, Ashlee... tucked away, underneath this hospital - I've been listening. The Sisters are hiding something." she told me.

"What d'you mean?" I asked her.

"Oh... these cats have secrets. Hush, let me whisper. Come close." she told me and I began laughing at her.

"You must be joking if you think I'm coming anywhere near you!" I said walking backwards with my gun pointed at them. I was suddenly caught by a machine that bound me with light and I couldn't move. My gun fell to the ground next to the machine.

"Chip! Activate the psychograft!" She ordered and Chip bound over to the controls.

"Don't do this Cassandra!" I ordered. Chip pulled a lever and bars of light came down from the ceiling and surrounded me like a cage. "Stop it!"

"The lady's moving on. It's goodbye trampoline, and hello Brunette!" she said. After a few seconds, a cloud jumped from her and came to me. Chip released the lever and my body fell to the ground.

"Mistress?" Chip asked peering down at me.

"Moisturize me..." I said but I hadn't wanted to say that. Why did I say that? "How bizarre... arms... fingers... hair! Let me see! Let me see!" I sprang to my feet and dashed to a mirror and my eyes widened in horror. "Oh my God. I'm a chav!" Cassandra was inside my body?! "Look at me! From class to brass! Although..." she ran her hands over my body. "Oh... curves... oh, baby..." We bounced up and down with Chip following suit. "It's like living inside a bouncy castle! And what's this? Two hearts? I knew the little twat wasn't human." she said to her self. If I could have rolled my eyes I would have.

"Mistress is beautiful!" Chip said with a large smile on his face.

"Absolutement! Oh, but look..." We looked to Cassandra's old frame, which was now empty.

"Oh...! The brain lead expired... my old mistress is gone." Chip sad sadly.

"But safe and sound in here." She said tapping my head.

"What of the Ashlee child's mind?" Chip asked her.

"Oh... tucked away... I can just about access the surface memory, she's..." I blocked all but some of my surface memories. I didn't what her know all I knew. "God... she's with the Doctor... that man... he's the Doctor... the same Doctor with a new face! That hypocrite! I must get the name of his surgeon." she said looking to the mirror again. "I could do with a little work. Although..." she ran her hand over my bum. I was beginning to feel extremely violated. "Nice rear bumper. Hmm!" she smiled and my mobile rang. "Oh... it seems to be ringing... is it meant to ring?" I asked as she pulled out my phone from my back pocket and stared at it.

"A primitive communications device." Chip told her. Cassandra flipped my phone open and the Doctor's voice came from my phone.

"Hunter, where are you?" he asked me.

"How does she speak?" Cassandra whispered to Chip.

"Old Earth Cockney." Chip whispered to her.

"Uhm... wotcha..." she said and I could have rolled my eyes at her again.

"Where've you been? How long does it take to get to Ward 26?" he asked.

"I'm on my way, governor. I shall proceed up the Apples and Pears." she told him.

"You'll never guess. I'm with the Face of Boe! Remember him?" he asked me.

"Course I do... that big old... boat... race..." she told him and it just made me want to shake my head, if only I could.

"I'd better go. See you in a minute." he hung up and I wanted to groan in frustration.

"This Doctor man is dangerous." Chip reminded Cassandra as she flicked my hair back and tried fixing me up in the mirror.

"Dangerous and clever. I might need a mind like his. The Sisterhood is up to something. Remember that Old Earth saying...? Never trust a Nun. Never trust a Nurse. And never trust a cat. Perfume?" Chip gave her a small tube of perfume out of his pocket and gave it to her. She tried pushing it down my cleavage but a knife was stopping her. She pulled it out, looked it over, then put it somewhere else and put the perfume back where she wanted it. She then strode out of the room with purpose.

She finally emerge onto Ward 26, still smoothing down my hair. We spotted the Doctor examining various drips, with his glasses on. She smiled when he noticed us.

"There you are! Come and look at this patient!" he took my arm and showed us a patient whose skin was red. "Marconi's Disease. Should take years to recover. Two days. I've never seen anything like it - they've invented a cell washing cascade - it's amazing. Their medical science is way advanced. And this one!" he lead me to another bed sporting a man who was white. "Pallidome Pancrosis. Kills you in ten minutes, and he's fine!" he said waving. "I need to find a terminal. I've got to see how they do this." We walked off to find a terminal. "Because if they've got the best medicine in the world... then why's it such a secret?"

"I can't Adam and Eve it." she told him.

"What's- what's with the voice?" he asked her, getting that something was wrong.

"Oh, I don't know... just larking about New Earth... New me..." she said looking him up and down. He finally seemed to notice something was off by the look in his eyes.

"Well, I can talk. New New Doctor." he said grinning at me.

"Mmm... aren't you just..." she pulled his face towards us and kissed him. When she pulled away, he looked at her breathless. "T... terminal's this way." she said walking off, exhaling slightly. We walked up to the terminal and looked at the details of the hospital on the screen.

"Nope... nothing odd... surgery... post-op... nano-dentistry... no sign of a shop... they should have a shop." The Doctor said.

"No, it's missing something else. When I was downstairs, those Nurse/Cat/Nuns were talking about Intensive Care. Where is it...?" Cassandra asked him.

"You're right, well done." The Doctor told me.

"Why would they hide a whole department?" she asked him. "It's gotta be there somewhere. Search the sub-frame." she told him.

"What if the sub-frame's locked?" he asked.

"Try the installation protocol." she told him.

"Yeah, course. Sorry. Hold on." He searched with his sonic screwdriver then clicked it off as the entire wall moved downward revealing a secret corridor behind. We smiled and walked straight into it with the Doctor walking behind me. "Intensive Care. Certainly looks intensive." We walked down multiple metal steps into the Intensive Care until we found ourselves in a huge cavernous chamber, looking upon rows and rows of green doors. The Doctor and I walked along one of the rows and he opened a door with his sonic screwdriver. A man, covered in boils and surrounded by smoke looked back at us.

"That's disgusting. What's wrong with him?" Cassandra asked him.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." The Doctor said looking at the man. Cassandra held our nose whilst the Doctor closed the door gently before opening another.

"What disease is that?" I said looking at the woman.

"All of them. Every single disease in the galaxy, they've been infected with everything." he told us.

"What about us? Are we safe?" Cassandra asked looking around.

"The air's sterile. Just don't touch them." he shut the door and leaned over the railing, looking upon the rows of doors with us following him.

"How many patients are there?" She asked him.

"They're not patients." he told us.

"But they're sick." she pointed out.

"They were born sick. They're meant to be sick. They exist to be sick. Lab rats. No wonder the Sisters have got a cure for everything. They've built the ultimate research laboratory. A Human farm." he said angrily.

"Why don't they just die?" Cassandra asked him.

"Plague carriers. The last to go." he answered.

"It's for the greater cause." We turned to see one of the cat nurses walking to us.

"Novice Hame. When you took your vows, did you agree to this?" he asked her.

"The Sisterhood has sworn to help." she answered him.

"What, by killing?" he shouted at her.

"But they're not real people. They're specially grown. They have no proper existence." she told us gently.

"What's the turnover? Hm? Thousand a day? Thousand the next? Thousand the next? How many thousand? For how many years? How many?" he asked her.

"Mankind needed us. They came to this planet with so many illnesses. We couldn't cope. We did try. We tried everything. We tried using clone-meat and bio-cattle... but the results were too slow. So the sisterhood grew its own flesh. That's all they are. Flesh." she told him.

"These people are alive." he said pointing at them.

"But think of those Humans out there... healthy... and happy, because of us." she said smiling.

"If they live because of this, then life is worthless." he told her.

"But who are you to decide that?" she asked him.

"I'm the Doctor. And if you don't like it... if you want to take it to a higher authority, then there isn't one. It stops with me." The Doctor told her.

"Just to confirm... none of the Humans in the city actually know about this?" Cassandra asked her.

"We thought it best not-" Novice Hame started telling us but he interrupted her.

"Hold on. I can understand the bodies. I can understand your vows. But one thing I can't understand - what have you done to the Hunter?" he asked her.

"I don't know what you mean." Novice Hame told him looking at us.

"And I'm being very, very calm. You wanna beware of that - very, very calm. And the only reason I'm being so very, very calm is that the brain is a delicate thing. Whatever you've done to Rose's head, I want it reversed." he told her.

"We haven't done anything." Novice Hame told him.

"I'm perfectly fine." Cassandra told him, finally realizing he was talking about us.

"These people are dying, and the Hunter would care." the Doctor told Novice Hame.

"Oh, all right, clever clogs." she said spinning him around to face us. "Smarty pants. Lady-killer."

"What's happened to you?" he asked us.

"I knew something was going on in this hospital, but I needed this body and your mind to find it out." she told him.

"Who are you?" he asked her and she leaned into him to whisper into his ear.

"The Last Human." Cassandra told him.

"Cassandra?" he asked her making a face.

"Wake up and smell the perfume." she said pulling out the perfume and skirted it in the Doctor's face. He immediately fell over, unconscious.

"You've hurt him! I don't understand- I'll have to fetch Matron!" Novice Hame said kneeling by his side.

"You do that, 'cause I want to see her. Now, run along! Sound the alarm!" Cassandra told her and she ran off. Cassandra made us rip a cable out and an alarm went off. She smiled, satisfired.

"Let me out! Let me out!" The Doctor called out and Casandra walked over to him and leaned on the door.

"Aren't you lucky there was a spare? Standing room only." she told him.

"You've stolen the Hunter's body." he said.

"Over the years, I've thought of a thousand ways to kill you, Doctor. And now, that's exactly what I've got. One thousand diseases. They pump the patients with a top-up every ten minutes. You've got about... three minutes left. Enjoy." she told him.

"Just let the Hunter go, Cassandra." the Doctor tole her.

"I will! As soon as I've found someone younger and... less common... then I'll junk her with the waste. Now hushaby! It's showtime." she said as two nurses approached us.

"Anything we can do to help?" one of them asked.

"Straight to the point, Whiskers... I want money." Cassandra told them.

"The Sisterhood is a charity. We don't give money. We only... accept." The second nurse told her.

"The Humans across the water pay you a fortune. And that's exactly what I need. A one-off payment. That's all I want... oh, and perhaps a yacht. In return for which, I shall tell the City nothing of your institutional murder. Is that a deal?" Cassandra asked them as one of them pressed a few buttons on some sort of control.

"I'm afraid not." the other told her.

"I'd really advise you to think about this." Cassandra told her.

"There's no need. I have to decline." she told Cassandra.

"I'll tell them! And you've no way of stopping me! You're not exactly Nuns with Guns - you're not even armed." Cassandra pointed out.

"Who needs arms when we have claws?" she asked, her claws shooting out of her paws and hissing menacingly at us.

"Well, nice try." Cassandra spun to Chip. "Chip? Plan B!" Chip pulled a lever and every cell door on the row sprang open. The Doctor and all the infected people stepped out of the cell.

"What've you done?" the Doctor yelled at her.

"Gave the system a shot of adrenaline, just to wake 'em up. See ya!" she said running off.

"Don't touch them!" The Doctor called back to them before following us. "Whatever you do, don't touch!" as we ran the doors began to explode open and Cassandra screamed as we ran for our lives. We paused for a moment and watched all the zombies break out of their cells.

"Oh, my God..." Cassandra said looking at them.

"What the hell have you done?" The Doctor asked her.

"It wasn't me!" She told him.

"One touch and you get every disease in the world, and I want that body safe, Cassandra! We've gotta go down!" he said as they advanced on us.

"But there's thousands of them!" Cassandra said looking at them.

"RUN! Down! Down! Go down!" The Doctor shouted and we ran down the stairs. "Keep going! Go down!" he called to us as we ran. We descended the stairs back down to the basement where Cassandra had trapped me. she ran to the lift and tried to operate them.

"No, the lifts have closed down. That's the quarantine, nothing's moving." the Doctor told her.

"This way!" She said running the other way with The Doctor and Chip behind her. More of the infected people began to spill out from the converging corridor leaving Chip behind.

"Someone will touch him!" The Doctor said going back for him.

"Leave him! He's just a clone thing, he's only got a half life- come on!" she said grabbing the Doctor's arm and running the other way.

"Mistress!" Chip called for her but she left him behind.

"I'm sorry, I can't let her escape!" The Doctor called running after us.

"My Mistress!" Chip called once more. We continued running back to the room where I'd been suppressed by Cassandra and slammed the door behind us. Cassandra ran to another door and opened it but the infected were clambering to get in behind it and she slammed it shut again.

"We're trapped! What're we going to do?" she asked him.

"Well, for starters, you're going to leave that body." the Doctor said angrily. "That psychograft is banned on every civilized planet! You're compressing the Hunter to death."

"But I've got nowhere to go. My original skin's dead." she told him.

"Not my problem. You can float as atoms in the air. Now, get out." he said pointing the sonic screwdriver at her threateningly. "Give her back to me."

"You asked for it." Cassandra told him and closed her eyes. When I opened them again I felt like myself again.

"Blimey, my head..." I said looking around the room. "Where'd she go...?"

"Oh, my. This is... different." The Doctor said and I looked at him to see him looking around smiling.

"Cassandra?" I asked her.

"Goodness me, I'm a man. Yum. So many parts! And hardly used." she said wiggling around crazily.

"Get out of him." I ordered her.

"Ooh, he's slim. And a little bit foxy." she said running his hands down his body like she had mine. You've thought so too. I've been inside your head. You've been looking... you like it." she told me.

"Of course I do, he's my husband." I told her as the infected people burst through the doors making us jump. "What do we do? What would he do? The Doctor- what the hell would he do?!" I looked around to see what we could use or do and saw a ladder.

"Ladder... we've gotta get up." I told her going for it. They shoved me roughly out of the way so she got to the ladder first.

"Out of the way!" she told me and we quickly climbed up the ladder.

"If you get out of the Doctor's body, he can think of something." I told her as we climbed up the ladder.

"Yap yap yap... God, it was tedious inside your head. Hormone City." she siad and I rolled my eyes.

"We're gonna die if—" I screamed and looked down to see a cat nurse grabbing my ankle. "Get off!" I told her.

"All our good work! All that healing! The good name of the Sisterhood - you have destroyed everything!" she told me.

"Go and play with a ball of string." Cassandra told her.

"Everywhere - disease! This is the Human World. Sickness!" the nurse told me before wailing in pain and breaking out into boils and falling down the shaft.

"Move!" I told Cassandra. We got to the top of the ladder and saw the lift doors.

"Now what do we do?" Cassandra asked me.

"Use the sonic screwdriver." I told her. She pulled out the screwdriver and held it between his thumb and forefinger with his nose wrinkled.

"You mean this thing?" she asked me.

"Yes, I mean that thing." I told her rolling my eyes.

"Well, I don't know how - that Doctor's hidden away all his thoughts." she told me.

"Cassandra, go back into me - the Doctor can open it. Do it!" I told her.

"Hold on tight." she told me and I closed my eyes. When I opened them again I had no control once more.

"Oh... oh, chavtastic again. Open it!" She told the Doctor.

"Not 'til you get out of her." The Doctor told her.

"We need the Doctor." she told him.

"I order you to leave her!" he shouted at her. She closed my eyes and when they opened again she was in the Doctor.

"No matter how difficult the situation, there is no need to shout." she told him.

"Cassandra, get out of him!" I ordered her.

"But I can't go into you, he simply refuses - he's so rude." Cassandra told me.

"I don't care. Just do something." I told her.

"Oh, I am so gonna regret this..." she said. She closed her eyes and this pink mist went past me.

"Oh, sweet Lord... I look disgusting." I heard her saw below me. The Doctor opened the lift doors and helped me up.

"Nice to have you back." he told me grinning.

"Nice to be back." I told him before I was forced onto the ground.

"That was your last warning, Cassandra!" The Doctor yelled closing the lift doors.

"Inside her head... they're so alone... they keep reaching out, just to hold us... all their lives and they've never been touched." she said staring out into space. The Doctor held a hand out for her to take and Cassandra took it, letting him pull her to her feet as the infected banged on the lift doors. We walked off through a door that led back to Ward 26. A woman ran at us brandishing a chair menacingly, roaring like an animal.

"We're safe! We're safe! We're safe. We're clean! We're clean! Look, look-" The Doctor said.

"Show me your skin." she ordered.

"Look! Clean. Look - if we'd been touched, we'd be dead." he said as we showed her our skin. The woman nodded and put the chair down.. "So, how's it going up here? What's the status?" The Doctor asked her.

"There's nothing but silence from the other wards. I think we're the only ones left. And I've been trying to override the quarantine." she said fiddling with a small device she was holding. "If I can trip a signal over to New New York, they can send a private executive squad."

"You can't do that. If they forced entry, they'd break quarantine." The Doctor told her.

"I am not dying in here." she said angrily.

"We can't let a single particle of disease get out - there is ten million people in that City, they'd all be at risk! Now, turn that off!" he told her.

"Not if it gets me out." she told him.

"All right, fine. So I have to stop you lot as well. Suits me. Hunter. Novice Hame. Everyone! Excuse me your grace- get me intravenous solutions for every single disease. Move it!" he said and we gathered all the solutions and the Doctor tied a rope around his body and I attached the solutions to it so they hung off him. "How's that? Will that do?" he asked.

"I don't know! Will it do for what?" Cassandra asked him. The Doctor opened the doors to the lift again. "The lifts aren't working." she reminded him as he peered down the shaft.

"Not moving. Different thing." he stepped back, ready for a running jump. "Here we go." He stuck the screwdriver between his teeth and ran.

"But you're not going to—" she started saying as he jumped into the middle of the shaft and clung onto the rope. "What do you think you're doing?!"

"I'm going down!" he told her. He fixed up a wench with his screwdriver as Cassandra watched him. "Come on!" he told her.

"Not in a million years." she told him.

"I need another pair of hands. What do you think? If you're so desperate to stay alive... why don't you live a little?" he asked her as the infected emerged from the quarantine.

"Seal the door!" the woman from earlier said closing the door leaving Cassandra trapped with the infected and no choice but to jump onto the Doctor's back. "You're completely mad. I can see why she loves you."

"Going down!" the Doctor told her and we whizzed down the shaft, screaming. We straightened ourselves out when we reached the bottom.

"Well, that's one way to lose weight." Cassandra told him

"Now, listen - when I say so, take hold of that lever." he told her.

"There's still a quarantine down there, we can't—" she started saying but he stopped her.

"Hold that lever!" he shouted at her and she backed down. "I'm cooking up a cocktail. I know a bit about medicine myself." he said taking one of the solutions and ripping the top off the packets with his teeth and skirted them into the clear container, before repeating it with all of them. "Now, that lever's going to resist. But keep it in position." he said opening the trapdoor on the top of the lift. "Hold onto it with everything you've got."

"What about you?" she asked him.

"I've got an appointment. The Doctor is in." he said dropping into the lift. She bent as much as she could so she could watch him. He used his screwdriver and I heard the doors to the lift open. "I'm in here, come on!" he called out to them.

"Don't tell them!" she shouted at him.

"Pull that lever!" he told her. "Come and get me, come on! I'm in here, come on!" the called to them as she managed to pull the lever.

"Commence stage one - disinfection."

"Hurry up, come on!" he called to them as the solution showered into the lift, soaking him. "Come on, come on." I saw glimpses of the infected people stumble into the shower and were soaked into the medicine. "All they wanna do is pass it on. Pass it on!"

"Pass on what? Pass on what?!" she asked him.

"Pass it on!" he continued saying jumping up and down. When the solution was out where we were the Doctor helped us down into the lift.

"What did they pass on? Did you kill them? All of them?" she asked them.

"No. That's your way of doing things." he said walking out of the lift with us behind him. "I'm the Doctor and I cured them." he told her. A woman came up to him and hugged him and he returned it with a large grin on his face. "That's right! Hey, hey! There we go, sweetheart! Ay? Look at him..." he ushered her off to sit with someone. "Go on, that's it! That's it! It's a new sub-species, Cassandra! A brand new form of life! New Humans! Look at them, look!" he bent down and looked at them with a huge smile on his face. "Grown by cats... kept in the dark, fed by tubes... but completely, completely alive!" he quickly turned and pointed at Cassandra. "You can't deny them, because you helped create them." she rolled her eyes as he continued to talk. "The human race just keeps on going. Keeps on changing. Life will out! Ha!"

The hospital was swarming with police officers when the Doctor (still wet and in shirtsleeves) and I emerged back onto the ward.

"All staff will present themselves to the officers for immediate arrest. I repeat - immediate arrest. All new life forms will be cataloged and taken into care." the PA said. We watched as Novice Hame was lead away by the police. "All visitors to the hospital will be required to make a statement to the NNYPD."

"The Face of Boe!" The Doctor said running off. Cassandra rolled my eyes before following him. We approached the Face of Boe who was very much alive. "You were supposed to be dying." The Doctor said smiling.

"There are better things to do today. Dying can wait." The Face of Boe said through telepathy.

"Oh, I hate telepathy. Just what I need, a head full of big face." Cassandra said.

"Shh!" the Doctor said turning to her before back to the Face of Boe.

"I have grown tired with the universe, Doctor, but you have taught me to look at it anew." The Face of Boe told him.

"There are legends you know, saying that you're millions of years old." The Doctor said kneeling before him.

"There are? That would be impossible." he told us.

"Wouldn't it just? I got the impression... there was something you wanted to tell us..." The Doctor told him.

"A great secret." he said.

"So the legend says." The Doctor told him.

"It can wait." The Face of Boe told him.

"Oh, does it have to?" The Doctor said put out.

"We shall meet again, Doctor, for the third time... for the last time... and the truth shall be told. Until that day..." The Face of Boe teleported away instead of finishing the sentence.

"That is enigmatic. That- that is - that is textbook enigmatic." The Doctor said nodding to himself before turning to us. "And now for you."

"But... everything's happy. Everything's fine... can't you just leave me?" She asked him.

"You've lived long enough. Leave that body and end it, Cassandra." The Doctor told her as she started to cry.

"I don't want to die!" she told him.

"No one does." he said.

"Help me!" she asked of him.

"I can't." he said as Chip walked to us.

"Mistress!" Chip called out.

"Ah! You're alive!" Cassandra said.

"I kept myself safe. For you, mistress." Chip told her.

"A body... and not just that, a volunteer..." Cassandra said thinking of the possibility.

"Don't you dare. He's got a life of his own." the Doctor told her.

"But I worship the mistress!" Chip said and Cassandra winked at them. "I welcome her."

"You can't, Cassandra, you-" Cassandra ignored him and leapt into Chips body. I fell forward with a gasp and the Doctor lunged to catch. "Oh! You all right?" he asked me before I lost my balance again. "Whoa! Okay?"

"Yeah-" I said as I got my bearing straight. "Hello!" I smiled at the Doctor.

"Hello. Welcome back." he said smiling back at me.

"Oh, sweet Lord. I'm a walking doodle." Cassandra said looking at her hands.

"You can't stay in there. I'm sorry, Cassandra, but that's not fair. I can take you to the City. They can build you a skin tank and you can stand trial for what you've done." The Doctor told her.

"Well, that would be rather dramatic. Possibly my finest hour. And certainly my finest hat." She said smiling. "But I'm afraid we don't have time. Poor little Chip is only a half-life. And he's been through so much. His heart is racing so. He's failing. I don't think he's going to last-" His legs gave way and we supported her to the ground.

"You all right?" I asked her.

"I'm fine." she said before pausing. "I'm dying. But that's fine."

"We can take you to the City." The Doctor told her.

"No, you won't. Everything's new on this planet. There's no place for Chip and me anymore. You're right, Doctor. It's time to die. And that's good." We helped her to her feet and began walking out of the ward.

"Come on. There's one last thing we can do." The Doctor told her.

We walked out of the TARDIS to see the party Cassandra had been playing of the party.

"Thank you." Cassandra said to the Doctor smiling.

"Just go. And don't look back." he told her.

"Good luck." I told her smiling as we watched her walk into the midst of the party, up to Cassandra.

"And if you'd actually seen them, they were shocked! But don't quote me on that. Oh, naughty. À bientôt!" The human Cassandra said walking away from the people she'd been with.

"Excuse me... Lady Cassandra..." Our Cassandra said and she stopped and looked at him.

"I'm sorry, I don't need anything right now - I'm fine, thank you." she said turning away.

"No - I just wanted to say... you look beautiful." Cassandra told her younger self.

"Well. That's very kind, you strange little thing. Thank you very much." she said.

"I mean it. You look... so beautiful." Cassandra stared at her future version, touched by his words.

"Thank you." she told her. Our Cassandra knelt over, dying and her younger self caught her.

"Oh, my Lord. Are you alright? What is it? What's wrong? Someone get some help! Call a medic or something, quickly!" Cassandra ordered.

"Who is he?" A woman asked her.

"I don't know. He just came up to me. I don't even know his name. He just collapsed. I think he's dying. Someone do something! I've got you, sweetheart... it's all right... There you are... there you are, I've got you... it'll be all right. There, there, you poor little thing..." she said rocking her gently. We walked back to the TARDIS and spent some time in the Time vortex, just holding each other and talking.

Next Time on the Doctor's Girl:

"Might I introduce her Majesty Queen Victoria."

One of the footmen opened the door of the carriage and helped Queen Victoria down.

There was a man sitting quietly in a cage across from a group of people they connected both myself and Flora with.

Sir Robert climbed onto the window sill and had to immediately dodged out of the way as he was shot at by the Monks standing outside.

The man in the cage raised his head slowly and opened his eyes, which were completely black.

The Doctor and I ventured out into the corridor to investigate only to see the wolf at the other end of the corridor.

There can't be an actual wolf." she said right before we heard a howling ringing through the house.

He shut the door behind him and locked it with the sonic screwdriver.

We ran to the top of the stairs and through the corridors with the wolf close on our trails.

"Fire!" They all shot at the wolf.

"Bullets can't stop it!" I told him.

We heard a howling ringing through the house.
