Chapter 13
Feyre
As we got to the river house the weight of yesterday dropped on me. We were actually home, and it wasn't a dream. I leaned back onto Rhys, looking up at it before Nyx pulled on me to go inside so he could go to bed. I obliged, carrying him up to his room and tucking him into bed before I went back downstairs to grab a snack while Rhys got ready for bed.
In the kitchen, both Elain and Nesta were there. Elain baking some kind of pie while Nesta watched, a slightly anxious look on her face. At the sight of me Elain dropped her bowl and ran towards me before giving me a hug, "I was so worried Feyre!"
She fussed over me for another minute before Nesta gave her a pointed look and she backed up. Nesta stared at me, a hard look in her eyes, before she too pulled me into a hug. My mouth dropped, but before I could say anything she leaned forward and whispered in my ear, "Don't ever fucking do that again. If you feel like something is wrong you get out of there," she pulled back, her fiery eyes keeping focused on me, "You know that."
I nodded lamely, still a little shocked, "I missed you guys too."
I pulled up a stool, sitting and talking with them, trying to get rid of the distressed feeling that had begun to creep on me since yesterday.

I opened the door and shut it as quietly as I could, trying to not wake Rhys before going into the bathroom and turning on the water. I striped before slowly lowering myself into the steaming water, savoring it. A sigh escaped from my lips as I shut my eyes and sank deeper. When I finished, I slowly toweled myself off and put on a pair of pajamas.
As I made my way to the bed Rhys stroked my shields, 'How was your bath Feyre darling?'
I sent him the image of me in the water, he growled sensually in response. I pulled up the comforter as I layed down close to him, facing him. My fingers slipped behind him, caressing his shoulder blades softly, "How's your back?"
He shrugged, "It'll be fine once it's healed," he kept his gaze on me.
But I knew he was lying. That carefree attitude was a facade to appease me, and I knew it, but we had promised each other never to push the other, that we would talk about our problems when we were ready. I wanted to ignore that promise and talk about it so badly. He's told me about others' wings getting cut off, the aftermath. I remembered the fairy who died in the Spring Court, the agony he felt, but instead I whispered, "Ok." Every part of me screamed for ignoring it.
'Is the bandage on your back covering a scar?'
I nodded, "It's a burn… They branded me," my voice broke and my fists shook as I tried to control the icy anger swirling through my body, "They fucking branded me."
He kept his eyes on me, never wavering, "We'll make a trip to Hewn City soon. They will pay for what they've done. I promise."
I shut my eyes, thinking of everything I wanted to inflict on them before opening them again and giving him one curt nod, "Who did Lucien grab?"
"Jurian and his main guard… Corbin? The rest got away, but we're looking for them."
I clenched my teeth as I leaned into Rhys more, trying to calm down. Rhys smirked down at me, trying to distract me, "Cassian threw together a party for Friday. A welcome home party."
I gave a small smile in return, "Oh really?"
He nodded as I continued, "If Cassian organized it he took all of your alcohol. You might want to check your inventory afterwards."
His laugh rang throughout the room, "I might want to."
A/N- Sorry for the super short chapter, I was really busy and couldn't find time to extend it.
