I'll be quick.
Everything written in the bottom notes part was written moments before I found out about this, so there is a distinct difference between the humor here and down there.
Someone I knew, someone I admired and who gave me a lot of advice, passed away due to COVID. I was going to post this chapter yesterday, but after this, all I could do was cry in front of my PC.
I'm going public now, not just to get this off my chest and be able to relax my mind because she wasn't the only person I lost in these last two weeks, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I want to thank Lemon and Milo for listening to me at that time, I know you two didn't have words to give me or reasons to listen to me, but it made it more bearable.
I can only say thank you, both of you.

A sphere of green light floated across the garden of the Stein house.
It went from one side to the other, as if looking for something. Then it flies in the direction of the door and crosses under it.
Once inside, the sphere floated around the place and then headed towards the living room.
Momentarily he perched on the armrest of one of the sofas, it was then that its light stopped, revealing that the flash was some kind of little silver-colored robot.
The small entity looked around for any sign that someone was nearby.
He could hear how upstairs someone was walking and a door was closing shortly after.
At this, the little being once again unfolded four small green wings causing the glow to return to its body, and then take flight and climb the stairs.
He floated down the hall to a stop in front of a door. He recognized it as a certain girl made of human parts room.
His head snapped to one of the adjoining doors as he heard someone turn on the shower. He easily deduced who it was that was there.
A thought crossed his head, but he quickly denied it, it would be best not to confirm if it was who he thought.
He would hate being electrocuted.
Again.
Deciding not to waste any more time, he flew under the bedroom door.
Once inside, the little being's body lit up green and grew in size to the height of an average human adolescent, when the flash lingered, a young human had taken the place of the little entity. This boy had wild brown hair and green eyes. He wore a casual outfit that consisted of a white and green sweatshirt, brown cargo pants and green shoes.
The boy looked around, then noticed a desk with a laptop familiar to him, an outfit on the bed, which he preferred not to look at too much, and a cell phone in the shape of a sarcophagus that was next to the clothes.
The boy approached and took it, it was fortunate that it was without a locking pin, so he was able to access its functions.
"Messages… messages… E-Gore?" The boy read the name of an app and almost instantly raised an eyebrow at that. "And then they say my puns are bad." downplaying it, he opens the application and searched through the available contacts, then select three and quickly type a message. "I hope Frankie doesn't mind me doing this."
The boy sent the message he had written and put the device back in its place.
"I have a little time before someone appears, I think I can go for a smoothie."
Touring the city was a pleasure that Nora Bloodgood rarely could indulge in.
Being in charge of watching over Monster High and all of its students, she didn't have much free time. Especially those last two days.
Due to what happened in the Maul, the New Salem police had come to her house to question her. The reason behind this was that one of her students, precisely Spectra VonDergeist, had uploaded two images to her blog where you could see one of the creatures responsible for the attack that occurred.
According to that post, she had seen that creature hanging around the school for some time, but after following him into the woods and taking those photos, she lost sight of him, only to find him once again at the Maul.
A very unfortunate coincidence that put Monster High in the spotlight.
She had to endure being questioned by human policemen for about two hours, after which they claimed that they were going to pay a visit to the school, just to make sure that she was not hiding these criminals.
She felt the urge to hurl a few expletives at those policemen for that such accusation, but she knew how to control herself.
After this, her current tenant and student had suggested that she should take a break, get away from the paperwork for a moment and go for a walk.
Which she was doing at the time.
"Have you heard the news yet?" A group of young monsters was gathered in front of a store they seemed to be watching their ICoffins attentively, something quite normal in teenagers. "The whole Maul was rebuilt!"
"Listened to my mom talk about it. They say that the security guard saw a fairy."
"A fairy? Like in fairy tales?"
Bloodgood walked past them, recognizing one as one of her students, and greeted him politely. He also returned the gesture, but quickly returned to his conversation.
She on the other hand analyzed what she had heard and with some curiosity, set off towards the building mentioned.
Her mind was kept busy, thinking about her plans for Monster High and the near possibility of two other schools joining. Belfy Prep Vampire Academy and Cresent Moon School for Werewolves.
It was quite an ambitious project, reuniting the two species of monsters that hated each other was a very risky move, but she was running out of options.
After two hundred years, Monster High was under threat of closure if its results did not begin to show.
Thinking about it made her walk much shorter than usual, without realizing it, she had already reached the Maul.
There were some monsters around, either snooping around the outside or entering the building to shop as it was.
Although the news of its reconstruction was already a day old, she had not taken the time to come to check it before.
Now that she saw the building, she was surprised.
She saw the images, both of the fight that was recorded and uploaded to the network, as well as the final result of it. It was surprising that everything seemed new once again. Decided to go inside to get an idea of how much had been repaired.
Around the place, there were several monsters, either civilians or a few others that formed security forces.
The stores had been reopened and their employees were around, talking to each other and sharing opinions about what happened.
For some reason, the entire area felt strange, as if radiating unknown energy.
She couldn't explain it, was like a strange tingling that ran through her body when she tried to focus on it.
She had heard on the news that some god was responsible. She ruled out that possibility. The gods, although once they were more present, now were only recluses of their pantheons. It was strange that they interfered in what was happening in the world, either for better or for worse.
Putting those thoughts aside, she headed to a specific store.
The Coffin Bean.
Upon entering, she was greeted by the beaming laughter of one of her students. Lagoona Blue, the girl was behind the bar and seemed quite happy, she deduced that not losing her job in that place had her in a good mood.
"Headmistress Bloodgood, good afternoon." She greeted.
"Good afternoon, Lagoona." The woman observed everything around her with an analytical eye, she was not going to deny it, she was surprised by all this, but it was not the strangest thing she had witnessed. "An iced tea, please."
"On it."
The woman waited patiently for the girl to prepare her order. While she did so, her gaze drifting to the surroundings once more. The place was not exactly crowded, some tables were empty, so she could sit back and relax for some time before she had to go home.
The sound of the door of the place opening caught her attention and she turned her eyes in the direction of it, only to narrow a gaze.
A strange figure had just entered. Of the average size of common human, and with his face covered behind the hood of a white and green sweatshirt, there was a young man, she easily deduced that boy was a human since she did not feel anything "magical" coming out of him, even so, couldn't help but find this figure a stranger. Something about him was not normal.
"Here's your order, Headmistress Bloodgood." Her student's voice brought her back to reality and she quickly turned around.
"Thank you, Lagoona." The woman handed him the exact money and took the glass and then walked towards a free table.
She could hear her student wave to the person who just entered, only for seconds later to gasp.
"Ben!?" she heard her exclaim.
She didn't hesitate to turn around, in case something bad was happening, but it wasn't. Her student seemed to be talking to the mysterious hooded man, so she decided to continue towards the table.
Once there, she allowed herself to sip her drink, the icy liquid running down her throat and cooling her body, relaxing her in the process.
From where she was standing, she had a perfect view of the entire Coffin Bean, but something, in particular, stood out the most, and it was that mysterious hooded man who continued to speak alongside his student.
She arched an eyebrow when she saw how the girl pointed in her direction and then continued speaking, she couldn't hear what they were saying, but seeing how the boy turned and looked at her gave her an idea.
Soon after, the boy placed an order and the saltwater monster went to prepare it for him.
For Bloodgood, being observed by some people was common, some admired her for her ideal of equality between humans and monsters, others made fun of her for that very reason, respect, envy, or simply because they found her attractive, she was used to it. But when that hooded man turned to see her, she felt nervous for some reason.
She tried again to see behind a possible disguise, some small spark that indicated that boy was a monster or something, but again she felt nothing. Whoever he was, had to be human.
Lagoona approached the hooded man and handed him a milkshake, which he thanked her for it and paid. Then, he started walking directly to where Bloodgood was.
Seeing how this mysterious figure had specifically approached her table, the woman stood firm and looked at him with some doubt.
"Can I help you?" She asked kindly.
"In fact, you can." His voice was masculine and he sounded quite young, he could see under the hood a pair of green eyes and a rather confident smile.
She arched an eyebrow at the ambiguous answer that boy gave her, the young man then pointed to the chair in front of the woman, obviously asking if he could take a seat. Although with some doubt about it, the woman nodded.
"And, what do you need?" She asked, the boy took a sip of his drink, then took off his hood, revealing rather messy brown hair.
"I would like to attend your school." This simple statement took her by surprise, not because it was strange. Every day, monsters from all over the world asked for a place at Monster High, the number of students was such that it had to be divided into three different schedules. The daytime monster, twilight monsters, and nighttime monsters, just to make driving that much more comfortable for everyone.
Still, in over two hundred years, no pure human had asked to enroll in Monster High.
She looked up at him with an arched brow, looking for some kind of sign to indicate that he was lying or perhaps just fulfilling a silly bet. But it was not like that, the boy had a calm expression and was waiting patiently for an answer.
"And who are you exactly?" Questioned the woman.
"Oh excuse me, I'm new around here, I'm somewhat used to everyone knowing me." She nodded understandingly at that, some of her students were from small communities, always used to the same faces every day, so being out of their comfort zone they tended to make some mistakes like that. "My name is Ben Tennyson."
"Well, Mr. Tennyson , let me ask you, wouldn't it be better for you to try enrolling in a school for humans?" That question, although valid, was not something that Bloodgood asked him because Monster High did not accept humans, it did, only that its human population was counted in the middle.
"That idea went through my head." She watched as the boy took another sip of his drink. "Heavens, I missed these things." The young man looked at her once and his face reflected a certain seriousness. " I read on the internet about Monster High, the ideal of equality it represents, it fascinated me, I spoke with my parents and I was able to travel here for this." The woman noticed how the boy's left eye contracted slightly when saying that last part, which she did not know exactly what it could mean.
"So, you took a trip just to try to enroll in my school?" He asked with some distrust.
"Something like that. I know the relationship between humans and monsters is pretty bad, and I'd like to help change that." He replied, to the woman's surprise. "I'm from, let's say, a mixed community abroad, I grew up surrounded by both monsters and humans, I'm used to both parties."
The woman nodded in response, the possibility that something like this existed was quite likely, there were places in the world where monsters and humans got along better or worse. Even so, something in the boy's story did not quite convince her.
"And where are you from, if I may ask."
"From a fairly small town called Bellwood, it's easy to lose it." the boy was quite confident about this, after all, he had been looking for some extra information to create a credible alibi about himself, and luckily, there was a small place on the outskirts of Illinois named like his city originally.
"I'm afraid I can't let you enroll in my school." Hearing that, the boy's face turned into a very surprised expression.
"Is it because I'm a human?" He questioned as he arched an eyebrow and took another sip of his drink. "I thought you accepted them."
"And we do, it is because I need the signature of your parents or a legal guardian." Seeing the boy's expression was something quite entertaining he did not consider that, although he quickly returned to a calmer expression.
"I think I have someone who can be called "my legal guardian."
"Forging a signature is not acceptable." She had to hold back a laugh when she saw how he was nervous. "I'm sorry, Mr. Tennyson."
"And what if I have two adults who have been taking care of me in the last week to sign my registration?" That question took the woman by surprise.
"Well, in that case, they could be considered your guardians." She answered, although not very sure. "May I know who they are?"
"Stein. their surname is Stein."
She opened her eyes when she heard that last name. The latest rumor from his school came to mind. One of his most recognized students. Frankie Stein had discovered an alleged cousin no more than a week ago, who was a human cousin.
She looked at the boy with some doubt, his story seemed to fit with that rumor, even so, she was not going to be convinced yet.
"Can you give me their names?"
"Viveka and Viktor Stein, nice monsters." He replied, the woman evaluated that information, her eyes left the boy and focused on the drink that she had ordered, this was a golden opportunity.
It was the opportunity for Monster High to show the results that the council had been asking for, at last, after two hundred years, a human being would sign up. Still, there were many possible risks and variables.
Her eyes returned to the boy, who seemed to be thinking about some things if his expression told something.
It was a very good opportunity to let it go.
"I think I can accept this time a signature other than that of a legal guardian." Upon hearing that, the boy's expression lit up and he stood up with clear emotion
"Really?!" Seeing the woman nod, he just got more excited. "Thanks! Oh, this is amazing!" That reaction gained the attention of all the monsters present, the boy noticed this and quickly sat down again and cleared his throat. "I mean, it's an honor."
Bloodgood couldn't help but laugh at that, something told him that this boy would be a good fit.
"I can have your papers ready for Monday morning, can you wait until then?" The boy nodded. "Perfect, I'll wait for you in my office that day to collect the papers and take them to your tutors."
"This is great." The boy stood up and started to leave. "I'll go talk to them right now!"
The woman watched him speed away, only for him to return seconds later and pick up his drink.
"I forgot this." The boy took a deep sip, finishing that shake in a single instant. "Ah! Frozen brain!"
The boy once again withdrew, leaving the woman alone, who couldn't help but laugh at how strange it was.
From the bar, Lagoona stared a bit confused at the strange interaction that Ben and Bloodgood had had.
Despite being surprised and relieved to see the boy in perfect condition, she was a bit taken aback. She had spoken to Frankie the day before, asking her about Ben and if they had found him.
Hearing her friend tell that there was still no trace of the boy worried her, after all, he had said that he had no one in that city, except the Steins.
Seeing the young man suddenly appear, wearing a radically different outfit from his black and green suit was unexpected, but it was relieved. She tried to ask him what happened or why he had disappeared, but the boy just dodged those questions. She might not have been a genius, but she knew when someone was trying to hide something.
When he asked about Bloodgood, it was unexpected and a coincidence that the woman was just there, so he provided that information.
"Miss Blue." The headmistress's voice took her out of her thoughts, at some point, the woman had approached the bar again and was looking in the direction of the door.
"Yes, Headmistress Bloodgood?" She asked.
"If I'm not mistaken, you know the young man who spoke to me, right?" That question confused her a bit, but she just nodded. "Could you tell me what you know about him? "
Lagoona did not answer immediately, she was silent, her mind returned to Friday afternoon when that boy had appeared next to Venus. Remembering his story was not too difficult, it was a very normal story after all.
"His name is Ben, he is Frankie's cousin." the woman nodded in response and allowed her mind to analyze those words. "According to him, he's seventeen years old, he's from a town called Bellwood, and he's traveling the country with a truck."
"Traveling?"
"Yes, it seems that he doesn't live with his parents." That answer made Bloodgood frown momentarily, Lagoona did not notice this as she was too concentrated trying to remember some other detail. "Oh, he said he left school a year ago."
That last detail caused an alarm in the woman's head. A possible scenario formed in her mind and she did not like it at all.
"Is something wrong Headmistress?" Upon hearing the voice of her student, the woman came to herself and simply denied it.
"No, thanks for telling me this."
"Don't worry." The girl looked towards the door for a moment, a smile filtered through her lips when she saw a young aquatic monster approaching, he noticed her and raised his hand in greeting, she answered this and then looked at the director. "If you want to know more, you should talk to Frankie's family, they have been taking care of him."
The woman nodded in response and withdrew. As she was leaving the establishment, she came across another of her students, a young freshwater monster who had a water tank on his head to avoid dehydration.
"Good afternoon, Headmistress Bloodgood." He greeted, she answered the greeting and left. "Lagoona, is there a long way to go before your shift ends? I got movie tickets."
A green and white jacket slammed into the passenger seat of a truck.
Soon after, a certain boy with brown hair fell against it and looked at the ceiling, wondering what to do exactly.
While his talk with the headmistress had given him the opportunity he was looking for, it created a much bigger problem.
The truth.
After what had happened at the Maul, he had kept his distance from those he had met days before. He felt responsible for the Malware attack and the injuries her friends had gotten from it.
And speaking of the villain.
He was petrified a few inches from him.
Getting that guy into the truck was a feat, and having to sleep near him was a driver of nightmares.
He had to resist a shudder when he looked in his direction. Despite being trapped, Malware promised to return once more, a recurring theme for him. Could none of his villains stop trying to kill him?
He understood that he foiled his evil plans, that he earned his hatred, but to the point of following him to another dimension? He did not know whether to be flattered or to lift a restraining order against these subjects.
A laugh escaped his mouth at that thought and he just shook his head.
He had to concentrate.
The first step in helping that world was in front of him, the possibility of going to Monster High and beginning to slowly pull the strings to allow change to happen. He had recreated the universe once, with the help of Belicus and Serena of course, how difficult would it be to help a planet stop being an idiot?
"You won't have any advice to give me, right?" He asked looking in the direction of Malware, the villain's lines shimmered in response. "Sure, you can't talk."
The boy returned his gaze to the ceiling and began to weigh his options.
There were not many.
He could:
A" Find a way to distort the truth behind it and hope that nothing will go wrong.
B" Tell the truth and hope they don't put him in a padded room.
Both options had pros and cons and thanks to the Omnitrix, he was a wild card.
He could be both a human, a monster, or, rather, an alien.
But that same wild card that allowed him to be who he was could also a beacon for trouble. His power was too great and because of this, he tempted many to claim him.
Although that was practically impossible at the time, the device was both metaphorically and literally, a part of him. His DNA was the key to unlocking it after all and only he (or an alternate version of himself) could use it.
Despite that, a power like that could arouse fear, especially if it was a child who possessed it. Many pointed to him as unworthy to carry such a device, and yet he was the only one who didn't abuse its power. Not anymore at least.
Revealing the truth could cause fear, fear, or label you as a monster.
And that was something that he did not want to endure, it was enough that in his own land many pointed an accusing finger at him and demanded that he remove that device, that an irresponsible child should not have it. And he was sure that, in that reality, things would be much worse.
Besides all this, there was another problem. His departure from that dimension.
Given his previous experiences in similar situations, they gave him some ideas on how to do this.
Unfortunately using Alien X for this was ruled out.
The night he went to the Maul and repaired it using said alien, their personalities called him to debate, which should not happen since they had a deal.
He was expected to be held back to debate about something stupid, but instead, he was warned of new rules to follow.
Universal Rules and that Alien X's physical form had to follow. One of them was that his power had been reduced. This scared him. That form was his most powerful hitter, the absolute trump card.
They explained to him about this, that, being outside of his universe, the physical form of the celestialsapiens had to adapt and follow certain rules. Rules that could be altered if you wanted, but it could cause problems with the celestial entities of that universe.
Not wanting to suffer a lawsuit again, he chose to refuse to alter anything and leave Alien X as it was, plus he still had enough power to be at the forefront of all his transformations.
That left only two options, wait for Paradox or one of his friends to appear or create a portal to his home or, failing that, to the Null Void, the site connected many dimensions. From there, he could return.
He would leave that as a secondary task for now.
His main task would be the change in the world as he had planned for a week.
And again, this meant introducing himself to his new friends and explaining the whole situation.
And unfortunately, his time was running out.
It had been a little over an hour since he sent that message from Frankie's phone, and if he was right, Cleo, Clawdeen, and Draculaura would already be on their way to Frankie's house, if they weren't already there.
"Well, I can always flip a coin and choose what comes out." The boy brought his hand to the glove compartment and opened it, some empty bags of junk food fell from there and scattered on the floor. "Oh right, I need to get food too. I shouldn't have spent my last few dollars on that smoothie."
He put a side note in his mind to find a way to earn money.
For now, he had to decide his fate in the safest way of all.
With heads or tails.
Of course, he had to find a coin first.
Luckily for him, he found something just as good and possibly thousand times more valuable.
A Tayden.
Which confused him a bit, he was sure that thing wasn't there the last time he checked it. Although he might have overlooked it. So, wasting no time, he took the object, took a deep breath, and threw it at the go.
The small crystalline hexagon flew for a few seconds and then fell on his hand and he quickly closed it, avoiding seeing that it had come out.
"Well, heads I tell the truth, tails I make something up." He looked once more at Malware and smiled with amusement. "Wish me luck, man."
Little by little, he opened his palm. One of his eyebrows arched when he saw the characteristic symbol of that coin.
"Uh... that means... heads?" He wondered confused, then simply shook his head. "Well, it'll be the truth." His gaze went to the watch on his left wrist and pressed the top of it, a group of holographic numbers was displayed and the boy quickly stood up. "I'm late. I better go." His gaze went to Malware and mockingly said. "I'll go a few hours, take care of the fort, partner."
Clawdeen and Draculaura were walking towards the Stein home.
Both had received the same message about an hour before, so they decided to go together to their friend's house.
Even so, the message was too vague and a little strange, it hardly seemed that Frankie had written it.
"What do you think Frankie wants?" Asked the vampire, next to her, the werewolf was scratching her head, trying to bear the uncomfortable bandages that she had there. " And stop doing that, the doctors said you should have her until tomorrow."
"Uhg… Fine!" Was her answer as she pulled her nails away from the infernal bandages. "I don't know, the message only said that we go to her house, perhaps she is suffering a crisis? Or her time of the month?"
"A simulacrum has times of the month?" Clawdeen just shrugged, she had not an idea. "Maybe it's about Upgrade, maybe he came back."
"Draculaura, you saw him..." The memory of her friend petrifying and sacrificing himself to protect Cleo appeared in her mind, only for a chill to run down her spine at the mental image of Malware.
Draculaura noticed this and took her hand, which brought the werewolf back to reality and she shake her head.
"Maybe you're right, that guy is the most stronger monster we met, right? Some stone won't stop him."
"You say it because you still want to use his skateboard, right?" Seeing how her friend looked away and crossed her arms behind her head, the vampire simply let out a laugh. She knew her too well.
It took both young women a few more minutes to get to their friend's house.
They were a bit surprised to find Cleo getting out of a limousine.
The werewolf, thanks to her more developed ear, was able to hear like a female voice and, unfortunately, she knew who was speaking to Cleo.
"How it said, little sister?" Cleo clenched her fists at the hearing and tried to keep her temper down.
"Thank you for bringing me Nefera." Every word came out of her mouth as if it were poison, she was not happy to say that.
"You're welcome." Her older sister answered and then closed the window and indicated to the driver that they could leave. "Remember that daddy will leave the city for a few days, and I will use the limousine tonight, you will have to walk home."
The young mummy squinted at the vehicle as it drove away. If only her father hadn't punished her for having a party weeks earlier, she wouldn't have needed to ask her sister for a favor.
"You better make this important Frankie." Cleo grunted. It was then that she realized that the other two young ghouls were a few meters from it.
"Cleo! Good to see you!" Draculaura greeted as they approached.
"Hello to you too Draculaura, Clawdeen." The werewolf made a mocking face at her, which made the mummy frown but chose to ignore it. "I see that Frankie also called you. Do you know what's happening?"
"No idea. A fashion emergency?" The werewolf answered.
"Anyway, on her next birthday I'll give her a cursed object just for making me ask my sister a favor." she said as the three of them headed for the door.
"Nefera being Nefera?" Draculaura asked.
"You have no idea."
Clawdeen rang the bell and they waited a few moments.
The door opened shortly after, revealing Frankie, the girl had a rather homely outfit, since it was a pair of gym pants and a faded T-shirt, in addition to being with a towel wrapped around her head.
Seeing her friends there, she was very confused, but she let them pass.
"Well, what is the big problem?" Asked Cleo, which gained even more confusion by Frankie.
"Problem?" she questioned.
"You sent us a message, you said we had to meet here." Draculaura explained, that statement only confused her friend even more, so she decided to take out your iCoffin and show her the message. "Look, you sent it an hour ago."
Young Stein took the device and looked at the screen, her eyes widened in surprise when she saw that, as her friends told her, there was a message that was sent to them from her iCoffin.
"I never sent this." At that, her friends were really confused, Frankie observed the time the message was sent and was a bit worried. "I was in the shower when this message was sent."
"So it was your parents?" asked Cleo confused.
"Mom is studying the sample she got from Upgrade, and Dad, you know what he is like with technology." Her friends put horrified expressions at those memories.
"Well, if it wasn't you, who was it?"
Before Frankie could say anything, the doorbell rang.
The four young women turned their attention to the door.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Clawdeen questioned, his nose detected a strange aroma, similar to the potato chips that are sold in plastic bags, in addition to other stranger aromas and... "Are you expecting a human?"
"A human?" Asked the vampire of the group confused. "OH! Were you meeting with Jackson?"
"It's not Jackson." They all looked at Clawdeen, who seemed to be trying to identify that smell. "It doesn't smell like him, it's someone else."
The bell rang once more, causing Frankie to move toward the door.
"Do you think they are the men in black?" The werewolf questioned with some amusement. "We will erase our memories of meeting Upgrade!" That earned a slight blow from Cleo.
"Stop talking nonsense."
Clawdeen just stuck her tongue out at her in response which made the mummy roll her eyes and the vampire giggle.
Frankie on the other hand took the doorknob and opened it.
She was frozen when she saw a certain alien camouflaged there, standing there and as if he was debating in silence.
Noticing that the door was opened for him, the boy raised his hand in greeting.
"Hi Frankie, can I come in?"
"Upgrade?" Hearing that, the other three girls approached and hovered over her, and they also saw the young man.
"They are all, perfect! I have something to tell you." The girls stepped aside, allowing him to pass.
Clawdeen's eyes sharpened as the boy passed her. He managed to catch his scent and it wasn't anything like the alien's usual scent.
It almost seemed… no, it was the scent of a human.
The boy walked across the room and over to one of the one-person couches and sat there.
"Upgrade, I'm so glad you're okay!" Draculaura exclaimed. "And besides, now you can talk! Oh, I'm dying to know about your world, tell me! Do you have nice things? What about the clothes? Oh! Do you have programs on fashion?"
The boy gave a small laugh when he heard those questions.
"Those are good questions, I'll answer them later, first I want to tell you something." His gaze went to Frankie before speaking again. "Frankie, are your parents here? If possible, I don't want to repeat myself."
"They're downstairs, I'll go call them." She answered and then retired.
Silence formed in the place. Draculaura took a seat without hesitation near Upgrade, while Cleo shot him a venomous look and Clawdeen...
"It seems you smelled something unpleasant." the boy commented, which brought the werewolf out of her stupor and made her look at him with distrust.
"Who are you?" She questioned, that question won the confused looks of the vampire and the mummy, but the boy on the other hand let out a small laugh.
"Different aroma?" Asked, the werewolf was silent.
"What do you mean?" Questioned the vampire.
"I smell like a human." Before the werewolf answered, he did.
Cleo and Draculaura looked at him in confusion and then at Clawdeen, who nodded.
"You can be calm, it's me and no, I didn't eat anyone or assimilate their shape." She was about to say something, but he spoke again. "And I did not put an egg from which something else was born and that thing infected a human, the references to Aliens are a bit rude. Although those things are much less intimidating in person."
"Wait, how do you know Aliens?" !uestioned the werewolf. "Wait! Are the Xenomorphs real?!"
"Xeno"what?" Cleo asked confused. "What are you talking about?"
"Do you remember that movie that I wanted to see, but Draculaura was going to be too scared and we took the one we were watching that night we met him?" She nodded. "Well, a Xenomorph is an alien that appears in that movie."
"I am impressed that they also have Aliens here, although Prometheus was quite meh." The boy moved one of his hands from side to side.
"Prometheus? None have that name."
"Remind me, what year are we in?"
"Two thousand and ten."
"Oh, that explains it." The boy was silent, which confused the girls, especially Draculaura.
No one said anything for a few seconds until Cleo decided to speak.
"And good? You will not say anything? Aren't you going to explain what the hell happened?" She questioned with some anger. "More important still, why that same thing you came?!"
"I have no idea how Malware got here." He replied as he avoided looking at them. "I don't even know how I got here in the first place."
"And why did he attack the Maul?" That question was asked by Draculaura.
"I don't know either, I tried to get some information out of him, but the guy denied knowing how he ended up here."
"That's very convenient." The mummy crossed her arms and looked at him angrily. "I hope an explanation of all this, we could have died there, Clawdeen almost died if it weren't for..."
"XLR8." He interrupted, they all looked at him confused. "That alien, that's what his name is."
"Alien? Hey, some of us here were unconscious, any context?" Asked the werewolf.
"A dinosaur"like alien came out of nowhere, somehow managed to save you from that lunatic, and then pulled us out of the Maul." Clawdeen nodded at what was said by her Egyptian friend, who continued to glare at the young man. "And how do you know that this happened?"
"I'll explain when everyone is here."
Still not convinced by that answer, the mummy was silent and sat next to Draculaura, her gaze was fixed on the boy, she was not trusting him at all.
The minutes began to pass.
Clawdeen was sitting in Draculaura's supporting arms side, her friend was asking you some questions to the boy, who answered everything he could.
Cleo tried to ignore them, but it was impossible to avoid hearing some things.
"So, a whole planet made of diamonds?" asked in amazement Clawdeen. "The universe sounds crazy."
"I think it's amazing." Added Draculaura. "So those diamonds you gave us are of that planet?"
"Something like that."
At that moment, Frankie returned to his mother, who was dragging Viktor by the ear.
"Please! We are here! Couldn't you let go of my ear?"
"Not until I am sure you will not run away to the laboratory. The boy came back and I have many questions to ask him and I want you here."
The brown"haired young man laughed when he saw that scene, it reminded him a bit of how his cousin and best friend interacted.
Frankie went to the open space next to Cleo and sat there, while her parents went to the last sofa, with Viveka taking a seat and Viktor standing behind her.
"Well, we're all done, now what alien boy?" Clawdeen asked.
"Well, that's a very crazy story, I have a lot to explain and..." The boy was silent for a few moments, which confused the monsters. "I will need you to be as open"minded as possible."
"You sound like my brother Clawd when he told me about his relationship with Lala." Clawdeen commented.
"Oh I remember that, it was a pretty crazy day." Frankie added from his place.
"Memories later, stories now."
"Well, it all begins in a galaxy far, far, far away…"
"Are you making a reference to Star Wars?" Questioned Viktor while l or watched with a raised eyebrow.
"They also have Star Wars here? The differences are not as many as I thought..." The monsters looked at him confused and he continued speaking. "On a quite primitive planet and similar to this one."
"Did you just call us primitive?" Frankie asked in a whisper.
"On this planet lived a ten"year"old boy, one day, when he camping with his grandfather and his cousin, a meteorite fell from the sky and there he found a clock called Omnitrix. But unlike many others, this gave him superpowers." The young man was silent when he saw the expressions of the monsters, yes, they were wondering about what the hell he was talking about. "This watch allowed him to adopt the form of ten different aliens. With that power the boy used that watch to fight crime, do good and help others, of course, he also used it for fun. He was a child after all."
"So, he was some kind of… superhero?" Asked the werewolf with some doubt.
"In a sense, yes, he was a hero, but with such power, this boy was the target of multiple villains."
"They were looking for that watch, right?" Asked Frankie, just to see him nod.
"Oh my god, that sounds horrible." Added the vampire in dismay.
"It was." The boy began to remember part of his life at that time, that summer as coolest that he life. "Standing all of this for a year, but in the end took off the watch."
"Why take off what gave him superpowers? Wouldn't it be better to use it?" Asked Cleo.
"He had his reasons, he lost something against a villain and the pressure that owning that device was too much for him, in the end, he took it off and lived a normal life until he was fifteen. It was then that his grandfather disappeared, and he had to wear the watch, during that time he fought a secret war against a xenophobic race called the Highbreed. They wanted the destruction of all races that they considered impure."
"That's terrible!" Draculaura exclaimed. "Why would someone do something like that?"
"They believed that all other races were inferior because they were not pure equal to them, a purity that they achieved thanks to reproducing through incest."
"So they were sleeping with their relatives?" Asked nauseated Clawdeen. "Ew, I don't understand why would they do that."
"I understand it." Cleo surprisingly took the floor. "In ancient Egypt, the lineage of the pharaohs was kept pure as they married among relatives."
"Great, one more trauma that I must suppress." They all gave a little laugh at what Clawdeen said, but the werewolf looked confused at the human and spoke again. "What does a race of incestuous aliens have to do with all this?"
"This boy fought against them, a war that seemed almost impossible to win, but in the end, he succeeded, stopped the Highbreeds, saving them."
"What? How do you stop a villain by saving him? The power of love and friendship?" Clawdeen questioned again. "What a cliché."
"No, repairing the genetic damage they caused themselves. The Omnitrix is a powerful device, not only because it possesses the DNA of all known life forms, but also because of its ability to repair any DNA damage." He received some amazed looks from Viveka and Viktor. "But still, the Highbreeds weren't going to stop. If it weren't for one of their own, who had learned thanks to this boy that they could live as hybrids, they would have committed mass suicide, taking with them to all who could."
Everyone was silent before that revelation; it was something quite dark to discover.
While Draculaura moaned horror curly against such a vile act.
Even so, the young human did not stop telling his story.
"After this, he faced many more trials, he fought against very powerful villains, he saved lives, and shortly after his identity was made public, for him it was great, for a while, until things started to get too suffocating."
"What do you mean?" Questioned Frankie. "Thought that everyone would like to be famous."
"At first, it was fun, the fame, the fans." The boy was silent and his expression became more serious. "But then he started being harassed by fans, he couldn't walk in peace without someone approaching, not to mention that with his identity being public. His family was at risk, he was the focus of attacks, harassment by fans and even a reporter started to defame him."
"Wow, that sounds like a real jerk." Clawdeen commented, which made Ben laugh. "And what happened next?"
"He continued as a hero, he overcame several things that…" The memory of his friend being turned into an uncontrolled monster and how he almost killed him appeared in his mind. "Almost made some mistakes." The way he said it was enough to make the adults understand what he meant. "Even so, he continued to fight, protecting those who needed him, he even faced a dimensional monster called Dagon."
The mention of that name horrified three people, Viktor, Viveka, and Draculaura.
The boy noticed this and deduced that they knew something about that thing, but chose to continue narrating.
"It was a decisive battle, incredibly difficult, his entire world had been brought under the control of Dagon and if it weren't for his arch"enemy, the boy would never have defeated him."
"Did his arch"enemy help him?" Questioned Cleo confused and surprised, she had some sworn enemies, Clawdeen among them. But it was rather a very big rivalry, even so, she could not imagine working together with your enemies to defeat someone.
"Rather, this guy, betrayed Dagon and absorbed his powers." That answer won everyone's amazement. "After this, the boy used a sword called Ascalon to seal Dagon's powers." He raised his hand before anyone could ask. "Yes, that Ascalon, can you save the questions for last?"
Seeing how no one said anything, he nodded and continued.
"With all that power, Dagon, Ascalon, and the improved version of the Omnitrix, called the Ultimatrix, the boy was tempted. His arch"enemy tried to play with his mind. The boy was a hero, and with all that power, he could create a universe perfect, without evil, without anyone suffering, a universe where only good exists."
"That sounds pretty good." Draculaura added, but the way he said it made him ask. "Why do you make it sound like it's a bad thing?"
"Because if he had, the boy would have lost himself, his morals. He was a hero, not a dictator. Creating a universe without evil is not correct, free will is what makes us who we are." At the words of the young man, the monsters, especially the adults, were surprised, he was very right, he could seem like someone young, but without a doubt, he had some knowledge about the life behind him. "That is why he used all that power to heal everyone who was caught under Dagon's power and simply refused all that power."
"Sounds like stupid, why deny himself something he won?" Questioned Cleo. "Have the power to change the universe and simply refuse to accept it? What kind of idiot would do that?"
The boy laughed and continued.
"He already had the Omnitrix, why would he need more power? So just he returned the sword to its creator and the Ultimatrix "
"So he was a normal person again?" Clawdeen questioned. "Wow, what a bad ending."
Hearing Ben laugh at that, the werewolf got confused, the boy just shook his head and continued.
"He received something better, the final version of the Omnitrix, the Omnimatrix. His work as a superhero continued for some time, he met many friends, he was almost forced to marry an alien princess and at the end of that story, the boy simply continued to be himself, helping whoever needs it and wherever they need it."
The monsters assimilated his words carefully, it was a lot of information.
Frankie on the other hand was looking at him, something in that story, in the way he told it, made him wonder who this mysterious boy was.
It was then that she remembered some things said by that red and black alien.
He had recognized Upgrade, but as to form a Galvanic Mechamorph, so intimated that this was only a transformation. Then he had mentioned Ben Tennyson, the same name Upgrade used.
And now, his friend was telling a story about a young man, who possessed a watch that allowed him to transform and save the day.
Her mind connected the dots.
Upgrade helped Draculaura, helped Venus, saved Cleo, fought to protect the Maul from Malware.
Upgrade, no, Ben Tennyson was the one from the story.
He was the young man in the story.
"Your story is pretty good, if I sold it to Hauntlywood you could become a millionaire." Cleo's comment took everyone out of their thoughts, Ben raised an eyebrow at that idea, it was good, maybe if he hired an agent he could achieve something.
"I think I can call my sister, that story sounds like a movie script, she is a writer. I could do something with that." Clawdeen added. "Although in my opinion, it sounds more like a comic's story."
Draculaura on the other hand, although she showed extreme innocence, she was old, the second oldest of the small group, with almost sixteen hundred years behind her, she had heard and seen many things. His father had warned him about Dagon, a horrible monster who only wished for destruction and domination of reality, but who disappeared countless eons ago and now, once again, someone was naming that creature.
"That's not the whole story, is it?" Viveka asked, she, like her daughter and was sure that her husband too, had managed to detect some details that the boy was subtly giving.
"No, it isn't." The boy looked distractedly to the side and a smile escaped his lips. "Somehow, this boy's life seems like a roller coaster of emotions, his last adventure and it is still in process, took him out of his own reality." He slowly began to play with his watch, revealing the holographic dial that allowed access to the DNA samples. He let it run without the intention of transforming, seeing this, the monsters were surprised, the clock was real. "A reality where monsters exist and live together with humans, the boy met four incredible girls there and the parents of one of them, although he was caught in one of his transformations, they helped him for a week, until somehow, one of his enemies ended up there, after defeating him and making sure he did not cause problems, the boy reunited these six monsters and told them his whole story."
"What are you talking about?" Asked a little doubtful the werewolf.
"That boy's name was Ben Tennyson, the greatest hero in the universe." Frankie's eyes widened when she heard that name, her gaze quickly dropped to the watch, the holographic dial had disappeared, but she was sure that that clock was the clock of history, and consequently... "I never presented myself correctly." The boy raised his left wrist, giving them a complete view of the watch. "My name is Ben Tennyson, and I am the greatest hero in the entire universe." Seeing that no one decides anything, he decided to clear his throat and add something else. "And possibly the multiverse also."
Silence formed in the place.
All eyes were on him, no one said anything, and possibly they weren't breathing either.
Until Cleo decided to break the silence.
"You're insane." The girl stood up and without hesitation went to the door. "I will not stay here and listen the delusions of an alien. I still have to organize the choreography if we want to win the Mashionals. I don't want to waste any more time here."
"Is it so hard to believe?" at hearing that question, the mummy turned and looked at him.
"What do you think? Super watches, alien invasions, parallel dimensions? Being petrified affected your brain, if you have one."
"The universe is bigger than you can even imagine Cleo." The boy crossed his arms and gave her a look of arrogance, which did not like at all to the mummy. "In fact, I traveled a great part of it, the things I saw, would surprise you."
"Really? And what did you find? A fool bigger than you who believed that story?" She crossed her arms at that. "The fact that you think I'm going to believe something as stupid as that, certainly means that your brain is still petrified."
"What if I transform someone like you?" He questioned.
"Excuse me?"
"I did say the Omnitrix has many functions, one of which is the capture mode. And oddly enough, in my dimension, the mummies are not monsters, they are aliens."
"Okay, now you're delirious." Clawdeen stood and looked angry. "Man, what is this all about? We were worried about you and the first thing we know about you in two days is that you show up and start telling a crazy story!"
"As I said, the universe is big, actually." His gaze traveled to the monsters. "I can transform myself into each one of you." He points at her. "Loboan." Then to Cleo. "Thep Khufan." Then to Draculaura. "Vladat." And finally to Frankie. "Transylian."
At hearing that name once more, the eyes of Frankie opened without wasting time she stood and approached the boy.
"Transylian, that alien called me like that." The girl's parents looked at each other and then at their daughter. "What... what is a Transylian?"
"Believe it or not, it's a whole race of extraterrestrial monsters of Frankenstein." He looked momentarily at Viktor. "I never apologized for attacking you, you look too much like one of them. Curiously, he's also called Viktor and he's a mad scientist."
"What?" Questioned the man.
"Stop, stop, no, it can't be possible." Viveka tried to make sense of this new information but was unable to do so. "A whole species? What? We were created by a human!"
"Different realities, different events." Replied the young man. "If you wish, I can show you that way, that would show that I am not lying since you do not have DNA, you are creations."
The girls' gazes went to Viveka and Viktor, who seemed to be in total shock.
"He is right." The man spoke. "If what you say is true, then... oh by Frankenstein... string theory would be real, parallel universes..."
"Woah, woah, woah, stop! Are you considering believing his words?" The young Egyptian asked while pointing a finger at Ben. "It's complete madness! "
"Uh, actually, it isn't." The girl looked at Frankie, who seemed quite undecided whether or not to say what he had in mind. "There is a theory of quantum physics about the existence of multiple realities."
"And in monster language that would be…" Clawdeen waved his left hand trying to emphasize his words.
"That his story is possible, and that, if it is true, everything we know so far could change." Viktor replied, his gaze went to the boy, who seemed to be quite calm. "You said you had the DNA sample. Can you transform it?"
"Of course!" The boy activated one more time the clock, revealing the hologram dial, and began searching the silhouette he wanted. Finding it, he let the core open, and with a big smile raised his right hand, and cried before hitting the apparatus. "Time for a little Frankenstrike!"
When his hand lowered, his entire body glowed green, momentarily blinding the monsters.
The glow lasted only one second and when she disappeared, she no longer had a trace of the boy.
In its place was a small white creature, it had a green and black suit and several nodes around its body.
His total height was no more than that of a child and he also had three small whiskers on his cheeks.
The little being had its eyes closed and a big smile on its face.
"Amazing huh?" He said with a high-pitched voice, realizing that this was not the voice he should have, he opened his eyes, it was then that he realized that to see the monsters he had to raise his head. "I didn't transform into Frankenstrike, right?"
"What the hell?" Was the only thing that came out of Clawdeen's mouth.
Everyone was practically in shock at that transformation.
But suddenly, the little being was taken by two arms and hugged tightly.
"You're adorable!" Exclaimed a very euphoric Draculaura. "Oh and you have a super soft coat! I'll call you Mister Whiskers!"
"H-Hey! Let me go! Leave Ditto alone!" He complained as he tried to free himself. "Hey! Stop looking at me like a freak and help me!"
To increase the surprise, from the lower half of the strange creature, a second Ditto was created, this one quickly moved away from Draculaura and hid behind the sofa where Ben had been sitting.
"Traitor!"
"The survival of the most apt!"
"Oh! Now there are two!"
The scene was certainly strange and very surreal, and that was a lot to say for a group of monsters.
The first to come out of her stupor was Viveka, who cleared her throat and spoke.
"U-Upgrade?" The little Ditto who was hidden turned towards her.
"Ben actually, but this form is called Ditto," he replied, his gaze then turned to the girls, who seemed to be shocked. "For the record, I didn't want this one."
"Let go! This should be considered harassment! I want a lawyer!" Shouted the Ditto in Draculaura's arms.
"More slowly! The Dittos share a nervous system, I can feel you crush our body!" The second Ditto complained.
"This is… fascinating." Viktor commented. "You... you... you really transformed." It was then that the realization hit his mind. "Oh my god... your story, all that, everything is real?"
"Real as me dude." Replied the second Ditto, an arrogant smile formed on his face and he looked at Cleo. "You see? I was not lying."
At hearing it, the mummy frowned and was ready to respond, but Frankie interrupted.
"So you… are you really from another dimension?" The girl walked slowly towards the little alien. "How?"
"How come we are from another dimension or how did I end up here?" He asked. "No idea, I remember half a day and then puff, blank." Both Dittos let out a groan, which worried Viveka, who approached the second to help him. "Stupid headache."
"Amnesia?" Frankie's mother asked with some concern. "Maybe a hit?"
"It is possible, as I know, I crashed into a satellite, right? The mechamorph suffer damage from being attached to technology. It is possible that I tried to control the proto truck and the blow hit me completely."
"Hey idiot, stop thinking about that! You make my head-ache!" the first Ditto complained. "And you! Count Dracula with Pinkie Pie complex, let me go! Stop stroking me! I'm not a cat!"
"Sorry! You are so adorable!"
"This is the most adorable alien of all" Commented according to the second Ditto. "Besides Perk, Upchuck, and Ballwebil are close."
"Wait, how is all this possible?" Clawdeen asked.
"Science? I could explain it to you, but the truth is I doubt that you understand." answered the second Ditto.
"You already sound like Azmuth!" Exclaimed the first. "Don't touch Ditto's whiskers!"
"Speaking of Azmuth, didn't he say not to slap the watch? That causes the malfunction!"
"Uhg, right, he's not going to let me live after this."
"You're an idiot."
"Who are you calling an idiot?! I am you! You are an idiot too!"
"If you weren't in the arms of that cute vampire, I'd kick your ass."
"Oh really!? Come! Try it!"
"Count Pinkula, put that alien down! I'll teach you a lesson!"
"They are brothers! They shouldn't fight." scolded the vampire.
"We are not brothers! We are clones!" They both answered.
The strange scene was more than enough for everyone to be not only confused but also slightly amused, it was like watching a cartoon.
"Hey," Frankie tried to get their attention, but they both kept yelling at each other. "Ditto's …"
"Clawdeen." the werewolf looked toward Cleo." Cover your ears." Mummy then looked at the Stein and spoke again "I'll replace all."
Viveka nodded at that.
The mummy took a deep breath and then….
"BE QUIET!"
A banshee scream was heard throughout the block, this forced everyone to cover their ears, which allowed the first Ditto to be released.
"Ah! The mummy has Echo Echo powers! ". Exclaimed the first while covering his ears. "Quick, maneuver alpha nine!"
"Aye sir!" answered the second.
It was then that the two began to quickly divide, creating a small army of ten Dittos, who jumped on the mummy to try to silence her.
"Hey! Get away from me little pests!"
"Quick! Adhesive tape!"
"What are...?! No! Don't touch my bandages! Hey! Be careful with my hair!"
In a show of skill and bravery, the small group of aliens had managed to subdue Cleo, who was now trapped in duct tape and with her mouth covered.
The mummy growled angrily and tried to break free but couldn't.
"Hah! The alpha-nine maneuver always works." Commented one of the Dittos, then raised his hand. "High four!"
All hands began to crash between themselves, until one of excited more and slapped to another, causing a chain reaction that made all complained of pain.
"What did we tell you about doing that!?" One questioned.
"Sorry! I wanted to make that reference."
At that moment, a certain werewolf could not resist it anymore and burst out laughing.
"Please stop! This is too much!" Clawdeen fell to the ground while holding her stomach. "These guys are hilarious!"
Ditto's group bowed to her and they quickly began to merge until there were only two left once more.
"Is it necessary to do this to Cleo?" questioned Frankie as she tried to free her friend from the tape, although she too was laughing.
"The bad-tempered mummy asked for it," one of them answered.
"Yes! She treats us like we are a danger, we are heroes!"
"Didn't they destroy the entire Maul by fighting his evil twin?" The vampire asked innocently, both Dittos looked away while whistling.
Viveka decided it was crazy enough for the moment and spoke up.
"Ben, what are you planning to do now? If what you say is true, you don't have a place to live, right?" Both Dittos looked at each other and then looked at her.
"That's true." Answered the first. " Two, what do you think?"
"Maybe we can handle ourselves, I mean, we can sell the Diamondhead diamonds, right?"
"That would unbalance the economy."
"Oh right. " The second Ditto put on a thoughtful expression for a few seconds, then raised his arms as a sign of not having an answer. "Improvise?"
The woman patted her face at that answer, that boy was without a doubt a potential danger.
"Can't you keep living here?" he asked Draculaura Clawdeen as he helped her to her feet.
The Dittos looked at each other and then at Viveka, who raised an eyebrow.
"That's… a pretty good idea." The first one commented. "Two?"
"I prefer not to be under the same roof as the father of the pretty Frankenstein monster girl, I fear for my safety." That comment earned that Frankie look the other side embarrassed and angry look by Viktor. "You see?! He's going to eat me! Or even worse! To make me prune the garden."
"How is that worse?" Clawdeen asked confused.
"Bad experiences with my dad," the first answered.
"Now that you mention dad, we take out the trash before traveling between dimensions, right?"
"Uh…" the second Ditto patted his face at that answer. "Can you blame me?! I was distracted, man we broke up with Kai that same day."
"I thought we wouldn't mention our cool ex-girlfriend."
"Ester was more cool, she had those skills acrobat and was very flexible. "When he said that, the Ditto moved his eyebrows suggestively, which earned him an annoyed look from the other. "At least she wasn't a chip queen obsessed with us."
"We agreed not to mention that again."
"Oh right and what about Looma? She was great, and quite hot, although."
"Please shut up, I still want to kill Kevin."
The monsters looked at each other, trying to understand what the hell this pair of aliens was talking about.
"You think we should remind them that we are still here?" asked Frankie as she tried to remove the tape from Cleo's mouth.
"Nah, leave them a little longer, I'm learning a lot of very interesting things from our space friend." said Clawdeen. "Although all this of the parallel reality…"
Frankie had to agree with her friend, that information was too much to be accepted so easily.
"I'm just saying that if we had given her a chance…"
"Two, you know what? Shut up, you're starting to sound like mom, she didn't leave us alone after finding out about that engagement."
"And what a way to find out, we ruined the entire front garden."
"Yes, this is definitely better than watching The Next Top Monster of Scarmerica." Clawdeen commented with amusement. "Who would say, our friend is a heartthrob."
"It was not intentional, the Tetramands commit by dueling." Explained the first. "Our best friend tricked us into fighting her."
"At least it was not like it is time that…"
"Mention Big Chill and I'll throw us out the window."
"Nobody's going to throw anything against my windows." Viveka rushed to intervene, both Ditto's stopped arguing and focused on her, the woman took a deep breath trying to organize her mind, and spoke. "I understand that you are both far from home, right?" They nodded. "For the moment, you can stay here."
"What?" Viktor questioned.
"Really?!" the Dittos asked excitedly.
"Really?" asked Frankie, because of the surprise, she ripped the tape covering the mouth of Cleo, which made her let out a cry of pain. "Oops."
"You can't be serious!" The mummy complained. "Mrs. Stein, it's obvious they're lying! It may be some kind of shapeshifting monster, he could be taking advantage of you!"
"Who do you take us for? We aren't the idiot of Argit." Complained the first.
"If you know that we don't know who you're talking about, right?" Asked the werewolf as she crouched down at her height. "I like the little suit, who is your designer?"
"The watch made is the suits." replied the second one. "And speaking of the watch, which continues as strange that Ditto."
"Meh, it would be worse, we could be Rath, I'm sure he would love to have a chat with Miss Ego." The Ditto who said this pointed his thumb at Cleo.
"What is a Rath?" Asked Draculaura.
"Another transformation, a very big cat, with a very bad character and possibly the dumbest thing in the galaxy." Answered the second Ditto as he sat on the floor and crossed his legs. "He's one of our heavy hitters."
"In how many ways can you transform?" questioned Clawdeen. "Also, you mentioned a certain accelerate, what is it?"
'Actually, is, X-L-R-8. Common mistake. It's another of our forms. You know, the velociraptor that saved you in the Maul."
"Wait, that was you?!" Frankie exclaimed surprised and Cleo opened her eyes at that revelation. "How did you do it?"
"Hyper speed, our record is Mach two, we broke the sound barrier a couple of times." Explained the second Ditto."
"And answering your first question, we have sixty -nine forms currently unlocked and we've named sixty-three." Answered the first Ditto. "Although Perk and Merk Upchuck don't count as one form?" His Clone raised his arms as a sign of not having an answer.
"Did you say, "currently unlocked? You mean there is more?" Both Dittos nodded. "How many?" Viktor asked curiously, the existence of a device like the Omnitrix awakened his scientific side, and if that boy was going to stay, well, he would not miss the opportunity.
"Guess."
"Hundred?" asked Draculaura.
"A thousand?" asked Clawdeen.
"Ten thousand?" Frankie asked and Cleo just removed the remains of tape from the body, she was definitely going to put that pair in a trash can.
"Hey do you remember Ben ten thousand?" Asked the first Ditto as he elbowed his clone.
"Which one? The idiot, the one who had all the powers, the one who had that strange Omnitrix that mixed the transformations or that idiot who used, you know what, to try to kill us all."
"Uh, guys, the context." Asked Clawdeen.
"Our futures versions." One of them explained, which earned everyone's confused looks. "Oh right, we forgot to mention that we traveled to the future a couple of times."
"And to the past!"
"Yeah, that too, watch the Big Bang was great."
"I... I don't know whether to think they are crazy or if they are telling an anecdote." Commented a very confused Clawdeen.
"You want my advice my dear werewolf?" The first Ditto leaned on one of her legs and looked at her with some amusement. "You must flow with the current and suppress everything you can suppress."
"And that's why we should go to therapy." Added the second Ditto.
"Hey, can you go back to the question? How many form do you have?" They both looked at the werewolf and then smiled.
"One million."
"Nine hundred and twelve."
"And counting."
The place was silent, no one said anything, they just watched that pair of small beings from space.
"Three."
"Two."
"One."
"What?!" They all exclaimed in total shock.
"Hah, it's always fun to see how people react." Commented the first Ditto.
"I think so."
"Stop, wait, back off." Viktor took the floor and tried to be calm, but obviously, he was not. "More than a million ways? What? How is it possible to have so many?"
"Science," they both answered, which earned him a flat look from the man.
"What Viktor wants to say is, how is it possible that a device like the Omnitrix has so many transformations?" The Dittos were silent at what Viveka said, which confused her. "It happens something?"
"Do you think we should tell them?"
"No, bad idea."
"But they would understand more about the purpose of the watch."
"Man, they hardly believe us, most likely they don't believe this other."
"We can listen you two, you know?" The werewolf commented while raising an eyebrow.
"Is it a bad thing?" Asked Draculaura.
"No, the Omnitrix was created for various purposes actually." The first one began to explain, this one walked around Clawdeen and addressed Frankie. "Could you give me a hair?"
"Uh, sure?" She leaned down and the little alien took what he needed and then returned to his place.
"A hair has the DNA of a person, everyone follows me, right?" he looked to Cleo. "You know what DNA is, right?"
"I'm going to..." Frankie had to hold back her friend so she wouldn't attack the little being.
"As I said, now, imagine that suddenly, for some reason, all humans cease to exist, but the Omnitrix has a sample of human DNA thanks to this hair."
"The secondary function of the watch is to allow the user to walk a mile per minute in the shoes of another being." Explained the second. "It allows us to understand what the life of other aliens is like."
"The primary function, keep all DNA samples of any conscious entity within the universe in the event of mass extinction."
"That means…" Viveka was silent when she saw the serious expression of the Dittos.
"That's right, the Omnitrix is Noah's ark."
"And we are Noah."
That afternoon was one full of surprises for everyone. All that new information certainly shook the foundations of many things they took for granted, and thanks to this boy, things only seemed to be destroyed more and more.
"You could say that we have the key to save the universe should be necessary." casually said second Clon."Which, despite the redundancy, I did, several times in fact."
"And we almost destroyed it as many."
"You what!?" Clawdeen asked scared.
"You had to mention that, right?!" The Ditto shrugged instead. "When we were ten years old, we mistakenly activated the watch's self-destruct system, scale, the entire universe."
"Are you… kidding?" Asked a very disturbed Viktor. But seeing how the Dittos denied he could only become even more frightened by the capacity of the device.
"Oh no, not at all, it was a pretty crazy week." Commented the first of the Ditto. "It was when we met Azmuth, that frog almost let the universe go boom." The alien emphasized simulating an explosion with his hands.
"Although we convinced him later, and he unlocked Waybig for us."
"Another transformation?" Draculaura asked and both Dittos nodded.
"And what transformation, does anyone know Ultraman?"
"Why does it sound familiar?" questioned Clawdeen while putting an expression thoughtful. "Hey Cleo, wasn't Ghoulia watching a series called Ultraman the other day?"
"You mean the children's series of the dude that becomes giant?" Questioned the mummy.
"Hah! They have Ultraman! Man this place is very similar to our home."
"Except that no Sumo Slammers."
"We could create it. I remember many of the chapters, we would be rich! "
"Or they could sue us." The Ditto was silent for a few seconds and spoke again. "Again."
"Ugh, right, I don't want to have to pay Chadzmuth again."
"So you have a transformation that…" Clawdeen froze at that revelation. "You have a fucking kaiju!?"
"For reference to Godzilla we have Humongosaurio, but the limit is... twenty meters?" The first Ditto put a thoughtful expression at that. "Waybig is big. Way big. That was not a pun."
"Whatever you say, partner." The second scoffed.
"How much power do they have?" Questioned Viveka.
"Well, that's a long list, it's easier to say what power I don't have, for example, I have Pyrokinesis, cryokinesis, intangibility."
"Chlorokinesis, crystalokinesis, chronokinesis." Add the clon.
"Acid, slimy stuff, mind control."
"And a large amount of useless, ugh, I still hate to The Worst."
"You mean that you are basically a god?" Questioned a very scared Frankie.
That idea made the Monsters tremble, especially Cleo, who was very afraid, she was not exactly kind to him.
"Oh, no, for gods we have…" The second Ditto was silenced by the first, which confused everyone.
"What my idiot friend means is that we have the power to do good, and no one should worry that we abuse it, I told you my story, I have been a hero since I was a child and I will continue to be in thirty years."
"Wow, a true superhero, dear I wish a watch like that." Said Clawdeen.
"The watch doesn't make the hero Clawdeen." The werewolf tilted her head confused at that. "It's just a watch, put it won't make you a hero."
"What are you talking about?" Asked Frankie curiously.
"Anyone who can be a hero should only fight for what is right even if it puts him in danger." His gaze traveled to Cleo. "Even if the people to save are not nice."
The mummy narrowed her gaze at that but just kept silent.
On the other hand, Frankie's parents were shocked at those words, someone as young as him, and concluding that was quite impressive.
"And that's why nobody wants to sign life insurance with us." Commented on the second Ditto. "Our life is based on shaking hands with death every week."
"I'm starting to have too many questions about you two." He added one very preoccupied to Viveka. "Do your parents know about all this?"
"Oh yeah! They know it, and… well, they didn't like the idea at first, but they understood that my work was important, they are proud to have raised the greatest hero in my universe."
"You had to see my mom when she found out, she punished us without using the Omnitrix indefinitely."
"Even though we ended up escaping and fighting a Highbreed, dear, I never believed dad was so cool, he attacked that guy with a laser cannon that belonged to our grandfather."
"The coolest dad in the world."
The expression of both aliens turned sad, which did not go unnoticed by either of the monsters.
That was the expression of a child who was alone and away from home, without his family and without knowing if they ever would see.
Cleo felt her heartthrob at this, but she held her ground, while a few tears ran down Draculaura's cheeks.
"Do you miss them?" The voice of Frankie made that pair of aliens look at them. "Your family?"
"Yes, I do." The Ditto Prime looked at all of them seriously. "But I know that sooner or later I will see you again, so I appreciate your help very much, you could leave that forest for me, or refuse to accept me here when I was Upgrade. Or even now, you could not believe my story."
"I still don't believe it," Cleo pointed out, which made the second Ditto stick his tongue out at her. She returned the gesture.
"As I was saying before the bad-tempered miss interrupted me." The Prime Ditto looked at Frankie's parents and then at the young women." I appreciate everything they did and do for me, you are my heroes."
"Oh come on man, you're going to make me cry." Clawdeen playfully pushed the little alien, who chuckled at that. "We are friends, and for a werewolf, being faithful to its friends is very important." The Dittos smiled at him. "Although, your story is a bit…" She turned her index finger to the side of her head. "You know, cuckoo."
"We were doing so well..." the first complained, and then laughed. "Don't worry, anyone would call you crazy if you told them something about all that."
"You are my first friend from another dimension, of course, I will help you!" Draculaura exclaimed as he wiped away her tears.
"You protected my daughter in the Maul, and although I don't like you." Viktor looked briefly at his wife, who had a smile quite entertaining as she hears say that. "I'll help you for that reason."
"What my dear husband said." Viveka commented. "Also, having you around would be useful, you can help clean the house."
" Awww man," exclaimed the second Ditto. "And I thought she was a very pretty and kind lady, and now it turns out that she wants to enslave us."
"Let's not repeat Drew, please." The first one commented with some amusement. "Zack is still upset with us for having a crush on his mother."
"I don't like you." Cleo looked at him with clear hostility. "I still can't believe a word you say."
"But…" Both Dittos looked at her with a smile, which only bothered her even more.
"I'm starting to hate you..." she growled under her breath. "But... you saved me from that thing, I owe it to you."
"Aww she likes us!" exclaimed the Second Ditto, only to be beaten by a cushion. "Yep, I deserved that."
"Hey! Be careful with the merchandise, my face is what sells you know?"
"Are you sure you are not a relative of Cleo?" The werewolf joked when she realized that her friend seemed to have a lot of egos.
Frankie chuckled at that, that boy was unique.
"Well?" She asked as she watched Clawdeen.
"What?"
"Oh come on, you are the one who gives the most emotional speeches, speaks."
"I don't give…" Frankie was silent as he found himself under everyone's gaze. "I don't do it that often, right?"
"Hey, I've known you for about a week and I even think you give very emotional speeches." Ditto Prime commented with some amusement.
"Rude, and I thought you were cute."
"Hey, we are."
"Yeah! The Splixsons are the most tender of all creatures! The problem is that we are also the most sarcastic boy of all!"
"Oh yeah, you have to see how we piss off our villains, it's hilarious."
The part-faced young woman just laughed at that and then took a deep breath.
"You are the first friend from another world that I have, and although our beginning was difficult."
"Electrifying I would say."
"Shut up and let the girl talk."
She held back the urge to laugh, the Dittos were extremely comical.
"As I said, it was difficult, and I misjudged you, but you proved to be kind enough, you helped Draculaura, you got Venus's money back, you protected the people in the Maul and you saved Cleo, all that makes it clear to me that you are someone unique and special."
"We should record this and show it to Gwen, a pretty girl is complimenting us."
"Shut up!"
"Party pooper…"
"I'd love to help you in l or necessary and to make feel at home, it is something I learned in Monster High."
"Eh, it lacked a little more feeling, but I give you a nine." Commented the second Ditto, only to be hit by the first, causing both to complain of pain.
This got some laughs from the monsters, even Cleo, seeing that pair get hurt entertained her.
"Well, enough sentimentality." Clawdeen did not hesitate to break the atmosphere that had formed and then look at the Dittos with a childish gleam in his eyes. "Tell your adventures! Oh, oh, what about your world? By the way, did you say that Alien had a new movie?"
"Prometheus, it premieres in two years." This earned some confused looks. "Oh, I forgot, apparently our dimensions are two years apart, in my home, it was two thousand and twelve."
"Is that possible?" Asked the vampire of the group confused.
"Maybe? I've seen things more strange, once traveled to an alternate version of my home where everything was based on Mad Max. My god, the Ben of that place was a jerk." The Ditto who said this was silent for a moment and then stuck his left fist against his right palm. "By the way! Viktor, Viveka, I need you singed some papers for me."
At this, both adults looked at him extremely confused.
"Papers?" questioned the man.
"My registration papers."
"Registration?" Questioned the woman. "Ben, what did you do?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He asked with a smile. "I signed up for Monster High!" He exclaimed as he and his clone pumped their fist into the air.
"You... What?!" Cleo screamed, totally horrified at the idea that this boy was her fellow student.
XXX
Oh man, I had no idea how to do this, so many times Ben's truth was revealed, so many stories where he explains his origin, making it original is certainly difficult, but I did it, at least, I think I did something interesting.
Well, I solved a couple of plot holes, some little things are still escaping me.
Anyway, I think he manages to find a direction for this story, Ben has a free hand from here to fuck it up big time.
What I mean, well, as you read, Bloodgood received a visit from the cop's thanks to Spectra's publication, every action of every character will have its reaction, something like one of those interactive stories, well not so interactive, you understand.
Maybe I should have said this earlier, or I think, if I did say it, I don't remember it anymore, so I'll say it just in case.
This Ben, is the same Ben from Omniverse, only, being once again a guy with no fame, he will resume his Alien Force behavior, the Ben we all love and possibly has a lot of anger issues.
Also, talking with HelplessLemon, who helped me to correct some mistakes in this chapter, I came up with an interesting idea that gives a little twist to the whole hero thing.
I won't say any more, but I think it will be interesting.
There really isn't much to say, except perhaps for Bloodgood and her sudden change from first refusing Ben, to then accepting him, it has a very logical explanation and that is not based on "because the plot requires it" and I think I was very obvious since it's all thanks to him naming the Steins.
Other than that, I think I did a good job... I think... I better not think about it too much.
Lastly, reading your comments, and apart from you pointing out Pesky Dust's mistake, don't scold me, scold the one who wrote that post, in one place it says "It changes the gender of the user, depending on their transformation, for example, Nemuina and Necrofrggian" and then somewhere else it says "Nemuina, male and female, are all the same" it's a bit contradictory.
But back to the important stuff, about the romance...ah the romance...it's going to be a thorn in my butt.
But I'll clarify something, Rochelle is not going to be in the Harem (I don't even know if I going to continue with that silly idea or not), she has a boyfriend and she has a crush on Deuce. You will see what will happen.
By the way, I almost have chapter 11 ready because I got too inspired writing this one.
That's all for now, take care folks!
Me again, the depressed guy who writing this story, if you made it all the way down here, please take care of yourself, take all the necessary precautions, I hope this situation gets resolved soon.
And for you, my friend and mentor who is no longer in this story, I would like to dedicate a few words to you...
I want your memory to remain and even if your pencil no longer draws, it will continue to inspire me.
Meeting you, your art, and receiving your advice was a great honor.
See you on the next page, and I look forward to drawing it with you and so many others who grew up thanks to you.
Until we meet again, in this story or the next.
