A/N Hi guys, back with a new chapter. Again sorry it took long, I'm going to try to update as soon as possible. Oh just so you know this chapter is also long.
Chapter Four
Zoe's POV:
In Art Class…
I've been looking forward to this class all day. Art has to be one of favorites and is something I'm really good at, well, that's what people have told me. I don't want to brag but from my previous schools that I went to, the teachers were impressed with my artwork, although I don't know what they saw in them.
Most of them even mention I could even open up a gallery and make a name for myself like Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun and other famous artists out in the world. Not going to lie I haven't really thought about it. I just draw and paint as a hobby of mine that I developed when I was a kid and I kept doing it since then.
Before my dad left us and we were a happy family, he would always buy me art supplies when he got off work. I guess you can say his the reason I like art so much. I hate to admit that part though, because of him abandoning us I almost stopped drawing, painting altogether and was ready to hate everything that was art related.
But I later came to realize I couldn't stop. I always myself doodling in my notebooks without meaning to. So I decide to continue not for my dad but for myself, since I shouldn't let him ruin the one thing that makes me happy besides having my mother by my side.
"Hey you look familiar? Have we met before" Mimi sitting next to me asked. She interrupted my thoughts.
I would have answered her but she didn't give me a chance. "I remember now, you're that girl who was talking to that Kouji during lunch right?"
"Y-yes?" I didn't mean to come off as a question. I was feeling a bit anxious since I knew Mimi doesn't like Kouji for some unknown reason and the last thing I needed was to make enemies.
"Are you his new girlfriend or something?" Mimi bluntly asked.
Mouth slightly hanged open with shock. Her forward question caught me off guard. I just met the guy and I'm new here, so why on earth would she ask that?
"What!?" Shooting up from my seat, almost knocking the chair over. Thankfully they were only one or two students in the classroom, it wasn't filled yet.
Mimi blinked in surprise by my outburst "Is that a no?" She questions, trying to understand me.
I immediately shook my head "Of course I'm not! I don't even know him. This is my first day." I desperately explained myself. For some reason I wanted her to believe me and hoping she wouldn't start rumors about me after this conversation.
"Really?" She asked unsure.
"Yes." I answered, clearing my throat.
She realized she'd misinterpreted "Well that explains why I never heard about you or much less seen you around. I just assumed you were nobody looking for attention."
I stayed quiet. I wasn't sure how to respond to that. It was true for the first part but the last part for some reason I felt slightly offended by the way she said it.
I was thinking about asking her why she cared if I was his girlfriend or not? But went against it. I didn't want to add fuel into the fire and get burned.
Not sure how to respond again. We sat there for a long moment in silence, just looking at each other.
Awkward. The only word I can say right now…
But the moment of awkward silence passed between the two of us when Mimi initiated the conversation once again, making me shift uncomfortably in my seat.
"Well, since you're new here and don't know, I advise not to get close to Kouji if I were you." Mimi made it seem like she was looking for my best interest but something in my gut told me she wasn't.
"Why?" Mentally hitting myself for asking. I couldn't help it, curiosity got the better of me.
The second bell ranged.
I sighed in relief, saved by the bell.
Loud chatter invaded the classroom, everyone started coming in. A certain girl grabbed my attention as she was walking up towards were Mimi and I were sitting.
She has orange hair that reached to her shoulders, resembling a bob with maroon color eyes and she was wearing a grey beanie, a button loose jean shirt with her sleeves rolled up to her elbows over white tank top, black jeans and white converse. Why does it feel like I've seen her before?
"Excuse me your highness, you're in my seat." She flatly spoke.
"Am I? Sorry, but I don't see your name on it."Mimi mused, ignoring her.
"Can you please move then?" She asked irritably with her eyes ready to pierce Mimi.
Mimi then formed a pretentious smile "Sure Red since you asked so nicely."she sneer, jumping up to her feet. "Oh and New girl, trust me you don't want to be associated with him." was the last thing Mimi said before heading the front of the classroom and seated an empty seat in the first row.
From what I just witnessed I assumed they don't like each other. Mimi must really have a lot of people not liking her which says a lot considering she is a cheerleader.
Breaking my train of thought yet again, I practically flinched when the red hair girl turned to my direction. It feels like I've been on edge every time someone notices or talks to me. I'm just not used to it, usually in my previous schools people would act as though i don't exist. But that's not the case in Shibuya.
"Was she bothering you?"She asked, sounding genuinely concerned.
Maintaining my composure and not trying to act nervous."No why do you ask?"
It looked like she studied me before answering "From what she told you just now."
"Oh...t-that's nothing." I stutter nervously. Damn.
She knotted her eyebrows at my words, then shrugged "If you say so."
Ending the conversation, I also got up from my seat when she spoke again. "Where are you going?"
I looked puzzled at her before tilting my head in confusion "I thought they're assigned seats? I'm I not seating in someone's spot?"
"Relax, you're not." She assured me, showing no emotion whatsoever while gesturing to me to sit back down.
Looking uncertain, I sat back down in my chair. "But then why did you ask Mimi to move?"
"Because I like sitting near the window side." She admitted, smiling this time.
"Okay." With that I started taking out things from my backpack.
"Are you new here?" I heard her asking.
I nodded in response.
"I'm Sora." She introduced herself.
Even her name sounds familiar, this is going to drive me crazy. Why am I bad remembering people I came across.
"Zoe."
I saw her leaning in staring at the front cover of my sketchbook "Nice drawings, did you draw them yourself?"
"Thanks and yes." I smiled at her fondness.
"Hey genius you forgot this." Another ginger hair girl approached us holding up a sketchbook. I assumed it was Sora's.
She had the same color hair as Sora except it was slightly darker shade. She wore it up into a ponytail, purple eyes. She was wearing black choker necklace, a white tank top with some rock band logo printed in front of her shirt, black & white tie dye skinny jeans and black combat boots.
"Sorry about that , oh Rika this is Zoe, she's new." Sora casually introduced me to her friend.
Rika nodded an acknowledgment "Hey."
"Nice to meet you." I greeted cheerfully. Looks like I'm able to make friends after all.
Our friendly introductions were cut short when two girls came barging in the classroom who were in deep arguing while sitting in they're seats, which happen to be in front of us. I keep telling myself to mind my own business but can't help overhearing their conversation. Don't judge.
One of the girls had long straight lavender hair that reached to her waist, brown eyes covered by round glasses and wearing a yellow checker pattern overall dress over a black sleeve shirt and white knee socks with black ankle boots.
The other girl I surely recognized she had short brown hair with matching eyes, white lace sleeve sweater, light pink ruffle skirt with dark grey knee socks and brown boots. She's the same girl that secretly handed a note to Takuya at lunch. What's her relationship with him? No wait what I'm I saying I shouldn't care.
"For god sake Yolei, how long are you going to say mad at me?" The short hair brunette asked.
The one with lavender hair known as Yolei shook her head and glared at her friend.
"Kari, because of you I'm stuck being paired with Daisuke for the rest of the semester! Do you have any idea what a nightmare that is."Yolei spat out her frustrations," I just know I would be the only one doing all the work assignments while he just goof off."
"C'mon he isn't so bad. He actually seems like a nice guy."Kari defends the guy.
"You're just saying that because you don't know the guy. I, on the other hand, have known him since we were kids, and let me tell you, he's the most annoying person I ever met." Yolei stated, making her point.
"Okay since I feel bad, I'll give you all of my digimon cards that I collected so far."Kari tried to bribe her into forgiving her.
"Oh please like I don't have the same ones you have."Yolei was quite justified in refusing.
"All except one, Hawkmon."Kari countered.
"Sorry, but I have it." Yolei stubbornly objected.
"Not the rare addition."Kari insisted.
Yolei seems to be debating on the offer, then finally cave in, letting her anger evaporate just like that "Fine you win, all's forgiven."
"Yay." Kari beamed that she got her way.
I turned to Sora and Rika who were clearly also listening in they're conversation. At least I wasn't the only one. "Digimon?" I asked, my curiosity peaked.
"Oh that's right you're new here. It's just digital monster characters from collectible card games."Sora informed me.
" It's popular in Japan, your probably see a lot of students with they're merchandise." Rika added on to what Sora was saying.
Making an 'Oh' with my mouth, meaning I understood what they said.
"Yeah here's a drawing of Biyomon." Sora turned one of the pages of her sketchbook and showed it to me. It was a drawing of a pink bird.
"I also have a drawing of Renamon." Rika did the same. Her drawing was a yellow fox.
"They're amazing." I complimented they're drawings. Maybe I should also join the club.
"Okay settle down , I'm going to begin class now." Turning everyone's attention towards the door as the teacher walked in. He seems young to be an art teacher, maybe in his twenties, someone could have mistaken him for a college student. He had shaggy brown hair shading hazel-colored eyes and standing at about 6'2.
"I'm going to skip roll call since it looks like everyone here." He was scanning the room but his stopped, I tensed up when I met his eyes.
"Wait a second I see a new face, you must be...Izumi Orimoto right?" He checked his clipboard.
"Y-yes but I go by Zoe." I clarified.
"Gotcha. Welcome Zoe, I'm Ichihara Toshiro but I'd prefer you call me Shiro. Anyways I'm not going to make you introduce yourself since nobody likes being on the spot.I'm I right class, we've all been there and we hate it." He said in a neutral tone.
"Yeah." The whole class said simultaneously agreeing with him. Smiling and laughing.
" Alright take out your sketchbooks, today we're going to draw outside." Shiro announced.
The class cheered with excitement.
"Well that's different." I mutter self-consciously. Not used to seeing a teacher so upbeat.
Sora must have noticed "Oh yeah Shiro is chill compared to other teachers, you'll like him."
"Just don't fall for him like 80% of girls in this school." Rika comments for lack of anything to say.
I wrinkled my nose in disgust "Don't worry I won't."
Sora and Rika glanced at each other laughing abruptly. Did I say something funny?
Takuya's POV:
In P.E Class…
After changing into our P.E clothes, Coach Fujiwara decided to drag us outside to play soccer. Originally we were supposed to play indoor volleyball but plans changed when he decided to cancel soccer practice because of personal matters at home that he has to deal with later after school.
That's what the guys have been telling me at lunch that Coach has been making all his previous classes play soccer to make up for it, since not all of the soccer players were in the same class. The rest of the students who weren't in the soccer team had no say in the matter.
Finishing our warm up, Coach Fujiwara blew the whistle. " Listen up, I'll give you guys a 5 minute break before we start again."
The whole class groaned and complained as they scattered. Some rested on the bleachers while others gathered around with they're friends chatting away.
"Look at them." JP said incredulously.
"I can't feel my legs." Kazu complained as he slumped on the ground with his face buried in the grass. Laying still like a lifeless corpse.
"I think I threw up a little in my mouth." Kenta gagged as he crawled next to Kazu.
"Moments like this makes me wonder why we are associated with them." I teased.
Koichi was beside me. "Couldn't agree more, they're giving our group a bad name." spoke with a playful tone.
I smirked in amusement "Maybe we should cut our losses from both of them." not really meaning it at all.
"Give them a break, it's not their fault they're lazy bums." Daisuke tried to sympathize but sarcasm was dripping in his voice.
Koichi sling an arm around Daisuke's shoulder "Speak for yourself."
"Hey guys I'm on your side." Daisuke protested, despite being true.
Daisuke may be on the soccer team but on days we don't have practice we've found him either sleeping all day or playing video games while stuffing himself with junk food.
"You know we can hear you right." Kenta scolded.
"Exactly why we're saying it out loud." Koichi stated confidently
Kenta looked at him irritably "Jerk."
Rolling over now facing us "Man how are you guys not tired?" Kazu breathing heavily with his face all flushed,
"You guys didn't even break a sweat out there."
"Specially you Shibayama ." Kenta chimed in.
Koichi and Daisuke suddenly backed up a step frightened, assuming a fight was about to break loose.
But JP blinked in confusion that his name was mentioned "What's that supposed to mean?"
"We're from the soccer team, what do you expect." I inserted myself, it was my attempt at trying to revert the conversation and drawing the attention away from JP. Koichi and Daisuke sighed in relief .
JP was of such a mild temper that, if any one spoke harshly to him about his weight. He would go on a rampage. No one dares to mess with him exactly why we named him our official goalkeeper.
"Yeah this is nothing for us professionals, an amatuer wouldn't understand." Daisuke boasted.
Kazu snorted at his comment "I hate you guys." looking up at the sky. Almost like he was hoping it would rain or something.
"Just be lucky Coach was going easy on you since this was P.E class." I ease that it wasn't so bad.
"You call that going easy more like trying to run us out of energy until we can't move anymore." Kazu retorted
"If you think this is bad, try coming to soccer practice one of these days it's ten times worse." Koichi suggested amusingly.
"No that's a hard pass from me." Kenta shut that down immediately.
"Yeah me too I would like to be able to walk the next morning." Kazu speaks out his mind.
"Same."Kenta agreed with what Kazu said.
Ryo tapped my shoulder with the water bottle, gesturing for me to take it. "Here."
"Thanks." I reply, not noticing that two idiots were staring at us like hawks. Yes I was referring to Kazu and Kenta.
"Hey what about us?" Kazu finally announced.
"We're the ones dying here." Kenta remained in their current state.
"Yeah we need it more than Kanbara."Kazu called me out which I thought wasn't necessary.
"Got money?" Ryo asked.
Making faces at each other "No." both of them yelled simultaneously.
"Then I guess no water for you." Ryo said in a deadpan tone.
"You just made it to the top of our enemy list buddy." Kazu shot back, while Kenta was glaring at Ryo trying to intimate him. But it looks more like an eye twitch.
Ryo just stared at them indifference, not even affected by them. I grinned, shaking my head.
Placing my hand on Ryo shoulder "Relax, here knock yourselves out." I tossed them the water bottle. To which Ryo disapproved.
Kazu grimaced but caught the bottle, his face lit up.
"Me first." Kenta reached for the bottle.
"No way." Kazu blocked him away from the bottle's reach by having his free hand covering Kenta's face.
"Stop hogging the bottle." Kenta accused not giving up. His first instinct was to retaliate against the attacks.
The next thing I was caught into a headlock by none other than Taichi.
"Dude watch the hair." I grasped.
Taichi smirked evilly "Nope, this is payback for lying to me earlier. So receive your punishment like a good kohai " Taichi ruffled my hair like a maniac.
"Fine I give. Let go already." I growled but stood my ground instead of attacking him out of anger. Since he had a fair point.
Loosen his grip "It suits you." Taichi grinned mockingly.
Raising a eyebrow "Are we even now?" I ask looking at him. Taichi cooly nodded.
I heard the guys laugh in the background. Before they attempted to comment on my hair. I sent them a glare that said ' if they tried just know you're going to get hit.' So they said nothing but it didn't stop them from laughing like idiots.
"Where's Kouji?" I inquired, noticing that he didn't come back with Taichi and Ryo from they're trip to the vending machines.
"Who knows I thought he was right behind us." Ryo peered over his shoulder.
"Now that you mention it I saw him talking with some girl." Taichi informed us.
"Again." Koichi groans aloud, looking annoyed. What's up with him?
"Is it the same girl he was with at lunch?" JP speculated.
"Probably." Taichi picked up the soccer ball from the ground. "I guess he found himself a new girlfriend."
"So unfair! I want one." Daisuke whined.
Speak of the devil.
"What's unfair?" Kouji appeared at the moment, shoving his hands in his pockets. Completely clueless.
Before the guys can tease him about it, Coach Fujiwara blows his whistle again, letting us know that our 5 minute is up and is back to playing soccer.
I straight up laughed when Taichi and the guys were dragging Kenta and Kazu, who were trying to escape.
"Hey." Kouji nudged to my side, causing me to look at his direction.
"What's up?" Waiting for his response.
"Annoying Milly is waiting for you." He revealed. So Mimi is the girl that Kouji was talking to like what Taichi mentioned earlier.
Just like that my good mood was ruined and my smile instantly faded. "Now?"
He nodded.
I sighed. "What does she want?"
He shrugged, " I didn't bother to ask." referring that he didn't stick around to find out. Since he didn't like her as much. He only tolerates her because she's with me otherwise he wont have bothered with her.
"Are you going." Kouji merely ask, noticing that I stayed quiet for a couple seconds.
I huffed " What do you think, cover for me."
"Fine, but you owe me." Kouji punched my arm jokingly, making me chuckle before heading off to find Mimi.
"What the hell?" I exclaimed, I wasn't given time to react when someone grabbed my shirt and shoved me back into the bathroom until we were inside one of the stalls. I became relaxed and started chuckling. I wasn't expecting to see her, especially in a place like this.
"Mimi? What are y-."
Her lips pressing against mine, cutting me off. I didn't try to fight her off. It was the exact opposite. I gently pressed her against the wall. I responded to Mimi's kiss with the same passion.
It didn't last long as I hoped though. She broke the kiss. Switching position, so that my back was to the wall. I stare at her blankly.
"Where have you been? I was looking everywhere for you." She demanded to know, despite it sounding like more of an accusation.
I swore I heard shattering glass in the background. I knew it was too good to be true. It looks like I'll be having another argument. What's up with today? I've never had this problem before. How did they even find out?
Whatever let's get this over with. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes yet again.
"I wasn't feeling well so I went to the Nurse's office." I lied, brushing it off.
"Oh no babe. Why didn't you say something earlier." She immediately embraced me while rested her head against my chest.
I breathe a sigh of relief.
But mostly stunned, I didn't think Mimi believed me so easily. I thought she would fight me over this just like Sora and Kari did. Well this makes things easier for me then, I just manage to avoid another argument in less than 5 seconds. A new record.
"I don't know if you notice, you dragged me in here before I got the chance to tell you." I chuckled lightly.
" me." She blushed with embarrassment, which I found cute.
"But you know now that I got to see you I feel much better." I lied through my teeth.
"Then I wished I came to you sooner if it wasn't for stupid Kouji! This is his fault." She spat accusingly.
I looked into her eyes, pulling away from the hug slightly "Kouji?"
"Yeah the jerk refused to tell where you were instead he was busy flirting with some girl do you believe that. by the way she wasn't even pretty. I don't get why you bother to be friends with him." She rambled on. Honestly I wasn't really listening, I was more interested in Mimi's lips than talking about my best friend.
With a soothing tone, I was able to calm the raging cheerleader "Let's forget about him. And focus on us." As I pulled her closer, a smile appeared across her beautiful face.
I wanted to take this opportunity that we were alone before she realizes that we're in the men's bathroom and wants to leave as soon as possible. We continued making out until the bell rang for the next class. Which was only a few minutes later.
Mimi stiffed when someone unexpectedly knocked on the door. "Ahem"
"Dude someone is in here, try another stall." I announced as I raised my index finger in between my lips motioning to Mimi so stay quiet and she simply nodded.
"I can see that fellow classmates but the bell rang you two should be getting to class unless you want me to report this to the principal." He warned at the other side of the door.
Sighed in defeat. I unlocked the door with Mimi hiding behind me, a blue-haired guy with thick eyebrows and dark eyes standing on the doorway with his arm crossed.
"Ah I should have known it was you Kanbara and… Tachikawa." Joe straightened his oval-shaped class while giving us a stern look.
"Way to spoiled the mood Joe." I commented in my usual carefree tone.
"I prefer you address me as class president thank you." Joe corrected me.
The clueless idiot thinks having the title of class president is some sort of badge of honor. If Joe only knew the truth why he was elected he wouldn't be so proud about it
"Lighten up class president we just leaving." I assured him, with Mimi sticking besides me.
"Just so you know I'm letting it slide this time but if I catch you two cuddling in the bathroom again, I won't simply stand still." Joe lectured, clearly dumbing it down so that we understood, while looking from Mimi to me. Which annoyed me but complied.
"Yes it won't happen again." Mimi and I responded at the same time.
"See this is why you can't get a girlfriend." I muttered sarcastically. Mimi giggled to my side, I smirked.
"Excuse me? I didn't quite catch what you said, Kanbara?" Joe surmised as raised an eyebrow at me suspiciously.
Mimi playfully hitting my arm. "Don't mind him. Nice tie by the way, it really brings out your eyes." She flattered him, enough I know she didn't mean it. She was only drawing his attention away from me.
Which it worked because he forgot I was even there.
Joe cheeks reddened as he rubbed the back of his head nervously "Thank you, I picked it out myself." He grinned modestly.
Poor guy doesn't realize he's being messed with. A few seconds later the door swung open, Koichi barged in.
"Dude what's taking you so freakin long...what is she doing here? You realize this is the men's bathroom." Merely glances at Mimi, Koichi pointed out.
"Ugh move!" Mimi left in a hurry, since the bathroom was starting to get crowded.
Joe coughing the awkwardness of the situation away, he turned around and headed to the empty stall.
A look of puzzlement crossed Koichi's face "What was that all about?"
"Don't worry about it let's go."
~END OF CHAPTER~
Looks like Zoe's is in the same class as Mimi, Kari and Sora. What's going to happen next who knows?
Until Next Time…...
