Hey, guys. I know I haven't been back into writing this story, so now I have a lot of time to work on this. Be patient always.
Please read & review!
Before dawn came, Kiba and the others headed out of their tents and began to search for food. They were walking towards the nearest trees bearing different kinds of fruits. Choji decided to use one of the giant boulder techniques to knock them a little. The apples, peaches, coconuts, and mangoes had dropped down instantly once they picked them up and put them in the baskets.
Elsewhere, they went fishing near the sea and Naruto was mostly the one to catch a giant blue-fin Tuna, much to their amazement. Yet, he was a little tired after mustering up his strength to carry its heavyweight. Hinata was a bit amused at how Naruto's expression turned out to be comical.
As for Sasuke and Neji, they were both impressed by their friend's skills. Then, they gathered around the campfire at the beach and ate their meals.
"Alright. Looks like we had accomplished our first task of the day," Temari exclaimed.
"I'll say," Tenten agreed with a smile.
"Anyone here wants to play volleyball? We'll do five rounds," Ino inquired as she rolled the ball up to the front and placed her foot on top of it.
"How about girls can go first, then guys later?" Lee suggested.
"Isn't it better to mix both genders together? Unless you don't have the guts for it," Ino smirked teasingly.
"Yeah, but maybe we can do that some other time," Lee said, chuckling nervously.
"Fine. We'll have to team up in two pairs," Ino sighed.
"I think I'll just be a referee," Temari said.
"Oh, right because we have an odd number," Tenten noted.
"Kankuro and I will be the scoring judges," Shikamaru volunteered.
"Okay, no problem," Tenten nodded in understanding.
"So five rounds for both boys and girls?" Choji wrinkled an eyebrow confusedly.
"Yes," Temari confirmed and secretly glanced at Shikamaru, who looked back at her blankly. The first game sets off on the girls' side where Sakura is partnered up with Hinata as Team 1 and Ino with Tenten as Team 2. They started to get into their positions until one of them was going to serve the ball.
Temari was looking at them back and forth and thought to herself in mind. "I'm glad this is a friendly match between these girls. It would've been fun if we invited more people on this trip."
Ino smirked and said. "I guess this gives us a second chance to know who's the winner."
"I suppose that's true," Sakura agreed calmly.
"No hard feelings, right?" Ino reassured her.
"Of course not. I'm ready when you are," Sakura urged her gently.
"Okay, then. Let's go," Ino said, clapping her hands excitedly and bent on her knees, waiting for Hinata to serve.
"Starting in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Go!" Temari gestured her hand down in a slice.
The volleyball was tossed up in the air and spiked over the net landing directly at Tenten, who immediately bumped it upward with her hands clasped.
"Cha!" Sakura's eyes got startled and jumped to hit the ball onto the ground. She looked behind and made an air high-five to Hinata.
The guys started to clap and cheer for Team 1, which caused the other team to roll their eyes and shake their heads.
"3 points go to Sakura and Hinata!" Temari exclaimed when Kankuro wrote the number down on the blank page.
The next server was Tenten, who was holding the ball before she swung it forward. Sakura noticed this and bumped the ball until Ino did as well. But it was overhead passed, then Ino spiked the ball hard, shocking the others in astonishment.
They all clapped and cheered for when Temari announced. "5 points go to Ino and Tenten!"
Ino chuckled and smirked at her opponents tauntingly. "Well, looks like you aren't the only ones who have the reflexes."
"I'm completely aware of that. What can I say? I'm impressed and I bet Lady Tsunade would be very proud of us with our athleticism," Sakura smirked back, then they continued on to stand in their spots as soon as Hinata was getting ready to serve again.
Every twenty minutes had passed since both teams had scored the same points in each row. Though they were only in the fourth round and the rest of their friends started to wonder if it's going to be another tie.
"Wow... Who would've expected the girls to be into this type of sport?" Lee stated surprisingly.
"It is because girls prefer this as a way to relieve stress, anger, and some sort of emotions they're dealing with," Neji chuckled.
"They are always scary. Mostly, Sakura and Ino. They wanted to do a rematch and wanted to figure out who's truly the strongest." Naruto explained thoughtfully.
"Regardless of their capabilities, both are quite exceptional. I'm not saying this to compare them. To me, Sakura has definitely improved over the past year and now, it's easier for her to play this game as a way of practice," Gaara said, smiling genuinely at his girlfriend from the far view.
"Of course, she's your girl," Naruto pointed out, grinning widely, whereas Sasuke was staring at them in the corner of his eyes silently without even responding back.
He knows Gaara and Sakura are in a relationship, and he was okay with that.
Perhaps, that's what they all thought...
