So I just realized I forgot to give this character a name. Her name is Katherine O'Connell nickname Kat. Sorry about that.

When we got a a British fort soldiers checked our papers before letting us enter. We all grabbed rooms, but Rick never let me out of his sight. He drug me to Evelyn's quarters where he slammed a steamer trunk on the floor and threw it open before chucking a load of dresses into it. The two of them were arguing about wither or not to help Ardeth and the Medji to get rid of the creature.

"I thought you didn't believe in this stuff!?" Rick asked heading for the closet as Evelyn unpacked the dresses he already packed.

"Having an encounter with a four thousand year old walking-talking corpse tends to convert one." she told him.

"Forget it, we're out the door down the hall and gone." Rick told her.

"No, we are not." she denied as Rick threw a handful of her undergarments into the trunk. This was like watching an old married couple. Pure entertainment.

"Oh yes we are." he told her as she grabbed what he just packed and put it away.

"No we are not. We woke him up, and we must try and stop him." she told him.

"We?! What we?! You didn't read that book. I told you not to play around with that thing." he told her.

"Alright then, Me, I,... I read the book, I woke him up and I intend to stop him." she told him as Rick angrily stretched a bra between his hands.

"How!? You heard the man, no mortal weapons can kill this guy." Rick reminded her as she grabbed the bra from him and threw it into a drawer.

"Then we'll have to find some immortal ones." she told him.

"There goes that belief again. Not us, Kat and I are outta here!" he told us as he stuffed a pile of her shoes into the trunk.

"I'm not leaving Rick." I told him as Evelyn kicked the lid shut, slamming it on his fingers making him cry out. He angrily stormed around the room sucking his fingers as Evelyn and I followed him.

"According to that Book, once this creature has been reborn, his curse will spread, and as he grows in strength, so will his curse grow, infecting the people until the whole of the earth is destroyed." she told him.

"Yeah? So? Is that my problem?" he asked us.

"It's everybody's problem!" she yelled at him.

"Look lady, I appreciate you saving my life and all, but when I signed on, I agreed to take you out there and bring you back, and I did, now were even, end of job, end of story, contract terminated." he told her.

"That's what I am to you? A contract?" she asked him, hurt.

"You can either tag along with us, or you can stay here and play around with Mister Maggot." he told her.

"I'm staying." she and I said together.

"FINE." Rick said picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. After Rick finally put me down he made me walk with him as he angrily strode through the compound. We saw Beni coming up the path with a man dressed in hooded robes, his face covered by an ornate death mask.

"Beni ya little stinkweed, where did you slink off to?" Rick asked him with a smile.

"You left me! You left me in the desert to rot." Beni yelled at him.

"Oh yeah,... sorry bout that." Rick said, just now remembering his little friend. "So who's this guy?"

"This is Prince Imhotep, High Priest of Osiris." Beni told us and I turned a shocked and scared gaze to the priest.

"Oh, hey, how ya doin'?" Rick stuck out his hand for Imhotep to shake and I pulled it back down to his side as the mummy recoiled from Rick.

"The Prince does not like to be touched by other humans. A Silly eastern superstition, I'm afraid." Beni todl us.

"I bet he doesn't." I said not believing him.

"Yeah, well, we all got our little problems today don't we?" Rick asked him.

"He has come to help Mister Burns. Somehow I feel responsible." Beni told us and I glared at him.

"Don't gimme that, you never had any scruples." Rick said to the smaller man.

"Do you know where I can steal some?" Beni asked him. Rick fake-punched him making him flinch before he walked off. I gave Imhotep a look as I followed him.

"See ya around, Padre." Rick called back to him as we walked. As I walked away from the creature I could feel his eyes watching us from behind his mask. Rick drug me into the Casbah, the proverbial den of iniquity. Hard men, hard women, and hard liquor with lots of deals going down around us. An older man was trying to tell his tale to people but no one was listening.

"I'm the last of the Royal Force still stationed here, you know? All the other laddies died in the air and were buried in the sand." he said. One of the tough customers shoved him away and he staggered over to us at the bar, not missing a beat. "Ever since the end of the Great War, there hasn't been a single challenge worthy of a man like me."

"I've heard it before, Winston." Rick told him, shoving him away. He then made his way over to Jonathan.

"I just wish I would've chucked it with the other laddies, gone down in a flame of glory, instead of sitting around here, rotting from boredom and booze!" Winston told us. Jonathan just shoved him away to another group as Henderson and Daniels slide up to the bar next to us.

"I wouldn't order anything." I told them, but they didn't listen to me as they ordered their drinks. They clinked their shot glasses together before slugging them down. All three of them instantly spit out the liquid just as half the bar did as well.

"Sweet Jesus! That tasted just like,... like..." Henderson said, trying to come up with a word.

"Blood." I said and they all looked at each other, nervous.

"And the rivers and waters of Egypt went red and were as blood." Jonathan quoted.

"He's here." Rick said jumping away from the bar and running for the door with Jonathan and I right behind him.

"Who's here!?" Jonathan asked.

"The guy! The Priest!" Rick said, realizing who he was.

"THE MUMMY!" I shouted. We ran through the compound looking for Evelyn as lightening flashed in the sky.

"Evelyn! EVELYYYYNN!" we called out for her. When we found her she was about to pick up some books that had fallen when Rick grabbed her hand making her jump and drop the rest of her books.

"We got problems." Rick told her. Suddenly a barrage of hail and fire slammed into the courtyard making us all jump. A water fountain burst into steam. Wooden trellis caught fire as we ran under the eaves as soldiers, servants and camels ran in every direction, trying to avoid the maelstrom. "He's here! I saw him! That thing is here!"

"The creature!? Are you sure!?" Evelyn asked us. I looked behind me at the hail and fire.

"Pretty sure!" I told her. Suddenly the hail and fire came to a stop making everything go dead quiet. Then a blood curdling scream was heard coming from the living quarter directly above us and we raced up the stairs. We raced into the room, past the servant who was running screaming the way we came. We skid to a stop as we spotted Burns, or what was left of him, lying dead on the floor, his body was shriveled to half its size drained of all organs and liquids. We heard a loud moan and looked and noticed Imhotep standing on the far side of the room. We watched as Imhotep regenerated, a thick skin formed over his powerful new musculature. He tendons rippled and his bones bulged and reformed. His mouth opened to an inhuman size as he moaned and cried out in severe pain, then it was all over. He could see he was incredibly muscular, corpse-like vision from hell.

"We are in serious trouble." Rick said as Imhotep started to move towards us, staring us Evelyn and myself. "Back off, creep." Imhotep kept coming and Rick opened fire, blasting Imhotep. Bullets ripped through his body but Imhotep didn't seem to mind. The Americans and Jonathan ran into the room and were stunned at the sight of Imhotep's new form. Rick stepped forward and threw a right hook, his fist going through Imhotep's skull and getting stuck deep inside his head. Rick stared at it, shocked, and then quickly yanked his fist back out. The area of Imhotep's face that came into contact with my brother's fist quickly degenerated and decayed right down to the bone, as if Rick's hand instantly infected it. Imhotep turned to Rick in anger and grabbed him before throwing him across the room with no effort at all. I watched as the hand that touched Rick started to shrivel and decay before he turned to us again. We backed away into a wall, terrorized.

"My sister, I shall bring her back." he told me before turning to Evelyn. "You saved me from the undead. For this, I shall make you immortal." he told her in Ancient Egyptian. He leaned in and was about to kiss Evelyn with his decayed face when a white cat jumped onto the piano, hissing at him. Imhotep shrieked as the balcony doors blew open. Imhotep spun into a blast of wind and sand and swirled out of the doors forcing them to close in his passing. We all stood there, transfixed on where he had been.

"The curse. The curse." Henderson said, kneeling next to Burns shriveled body.

"Try to leave and he will follow you back to America before hunting us down here in Egypt." I warned them.

"How do you know so much?" Rick asked me.

"Let's take a trip, shall we?" I asked them removing myself from the wall. We traveled to the Museum of Antiquities where Evelyn worked and she quickly worked out who we were going to see.

"Why are we here?" Rick asked us.

"There's only one person I know who can possibly give us some answers." Evelyn told him as we rounded a corner. We saw the Curator and Ardeth talking to each other. Everybody except me stopped at stared at them.

"Ardeth, I'm glad to see you're safe." I said walking up to him, smiling. He smiled down at me gently before we turned to look at my brother's group.

"YOU!" Evelyn said in shock as Rick and the American's drew their guns and pointed them at us.

"Miss Carnavon. Gentlemen." The Curator greeted. "Kat, how was your trip?" he asked me and I glared at him.

"You should have done as I said and waited until after we were off the barge." I told him and he nodded his head in agreement.

"What is he doing here?" Evelyn asked the Curator.

"Do you truly wish to know? Or would you prefer to just shoot us?" the Curator asked them. Everyone was tense and we waited until Rick unlocked is .38.

"I just saw my fist vanish into some guy's head." he said, sliding his gun back into his shoulder holster. "I'm willin, to go on a little faith, here."

"You will not believe it." the Curator told him.

"Try me." Rick dared him. The Curator had us move into a room with a display of Seti the First, sitting in Seti's throne.

"We are part of an ancient secret society, the cult-of-the-Mumia, and we have a sacred mission, passed down through thirty-nine generations. For over four thousand years we have guarded The City Of The Dead. we are sworn at manhood to do any and all in our power to stop the High Priest Imhotep from being reborn into this world." The Curator told us.

"And because of you, we have failed." Ardeth said and we all looked at Evelyn.

"And you think this justifies killing innocent people!?" she asked us.

"To have stopped this creature?" the Curator asked.

"Yes!" the three of us said together.

"Okay, let's cut to the chase. He's afraid of cats, what's that about?" Rick asked us.

"According to the ancients, cat's are the guardians at the gates of the underworld. Imhotep will fear them until he is fully regenerated, and then he will fear nothing." I told them.

"Right! And ya know how he gets fully regenerated?! By killing everybody who opened that chest and sucking us dry! That's how!" Daniels said wigging out.

"Yes, the creature must first try and regenerate, and then he will attempt to resurrect the one he has loved for more than four thousand years." The Curator said.

"Anck-su-namun." Evelyn and I said together making Ardeth and the Curator look at us thunderstruck.

"In the necropolis, when we saw him, - alive,... walking, he called me Anck-su-namun and Katherine Amunet. And then in Mister Burns' quarters he tried to kiss me." Evelyn told them.

"Is this true?" Ardeth asked me and I nodded.

"Yes, it's true." I confirmed.

"It is because it was you who read from the Book. He has chosen you to be the human sacrifice needed to regenerate the body of Anck-su-namun." The Curator told her.

"This is not good. Not good at all." Jonathan said looking at his sister.

"Amunet was his younger sister and his lovers friend as well as his friends lover. Perhaps he sees you in her." he told me.

"No thanks." I said, rubbing my upper arms.

"Tonight is the full moon. The moon of Osiris. It will begin tonight." I looked at Ardeth then to the window he was looking out of to see the sun which was now going into a full eclipse.

"...and he stretched forth his hands towards the heavens, and there was darkness throughout the land of Egypt." Jonathan quoted.
