Chapter 15

"…ra….."

"…"

"…..Ira….."

"…."

"IRA!"

Opening my eyes, I see the familiar white and red duo waking me up. No wait that's not right, I don't work with Junior any more.

"Pyrrha? ….And Weiss?"

"You're finally awake." Pyrrha says, looking relieved. Ah, that's right, today is initiation, "Were you this heavy a sleeper before?"

"Not usually," I reply, still half-dazed, "I felt like I slept for over a two years in a single night."

Truly an amazing night's sleep, sadly the downside is that I feel a bit groggy, as is typical after a long night's sleep.

"Do you want to miss your chance at attending Beacon? It's almost time for initation!" Feeling the reprimand from Weiss, I quickly get up, only now realising that we are the last ones in the ballroom.

Seriously, what is wrong with me, I feel as if that was the best night's sleep I've had in 5 years. Thinking such things, I make my way out of the ballroom, completely missing the faint smile on Weiss' face.

"Seriously, how did he survive without me…." With a faint blush, words faint off with the rushing wind past my ears as I rush to ready myself for today's trials.

###

"That feels better." I say, feeling relaxed. Attaching Revenant to my waist and the small red pouch to my thigh, it feels as if I'm no longer naked, having went several years with these in arm's reach, it was odd when we were told to store them inside a locker.

As I finish, I hear a small chuckle to my right, glancing over I see Pyrrha looking at Revenant, Ah that's right, she hasn't seen it yet.

"I was half-expecting you to pull out that old rusty sword you were so attached to."

I do miss Rusty, the first thing I bought with my own hard-earned, or rather, hard-busked money, without that, I'm not sure I would have Revenant, my partner, by my side today.

"But you still have Milo and Akuou, I see." As she fastens the shield on her back, She holds up her sword, Milo, and as she does, the handle extends into a javelin, that wasn't something it did before. "With a few adjustments."

"That's not all, I realised I needed a long range attack, so when I do this…."

ZOOOOM

As she gets closer to show the hand movement, I notice her cheeks slightly tinge at the sudden closeness, resulting in the bottom of the javelin to fire, sending it shooting off.

"AH!"

Along with the yelp of a girl, no doubt a civilian casualty to the misfire, at least Pyrrha has the weapons she had in the show now compared to when we were 13.

"Sorry!" She shouts as we go and find the casualty, as we approach, I notice a blond mop of hair, with hands covering their face, as if they were scared to stone. The odd thing was though, they weren't actually a girl, judging by the facts of the armour design and overall body shape, it was definitely a man. As I try and figure out why he looks so familiar, I notice an eye peek out from one of the finger gaps,

"Ira?!"

They recognise me, but it wasn't until they dropped their hands and tried to approach that I realised I too knew the guy,

"Jaune?"

"Ira, it is you!"

It was Jaune, the only boy of 8 siblings, 'vomit boy', the wielder of Crocea Mors himself, Jaune Arc! Finally, I thought I had changed this world too much, which made Ozpin not look the other way when he cheated.

"How long has it been….Uhm…A little help?" As he tries to approach, he is yanked like a dog on a chain, Milo still stuck through his hood.

"Sorry! Again!" Pyrrha says as she pulls out her weapon, I must have been the only one present noticing it glow as it came out too smoothly after Jaune had tugged it with all his strength without it budging. "So is this someone you know, Ira?"

"Of course, me and Ira go way back, it must have been a year ago by now, right?" Not giving me a chance to answer, Jaune replies in my place enthusiastically, perhaps he wanted to make a good first impression, as he continued babbling on about how we met.

"….And there we stood exhausted, with the bodies of hundreds of Grimm."

"But don't Grimm bodies usually evaporate?" It was something any Huntsman in training could tell you, sadly, well…Jaune hasn't changed even with my presence here; he probably still cheated. Pyrrha must have picked up on the….more exaggerated parts of his story by now as she turns to me, "Is that true?"

In my old life, this would be have been considered a moral choice, back up someone to earn their trust, by lying to another, or tell the truth and expose them. Both Pyrrha and Jaune looking at me, Sorry Jaune, you shouldn't start out by lying.

"I worked his family's farm for a few months during a large harvest."

YOU TRAITOR! I could almost hear Jaune's thoughts as he fell defeated; I guess I should throw him a bone.

"But one night, there was a sudden wave of Grimm passing through," I start, feeling Pyrrha's intrigue and Jaune's hopeful eyes, even Weiss, who had been close by with an annoyed expression, had her interest piqued, "And he was sleeping in the barn as punishment for not working that day, so we all wake up to him screaming, and when I look out the window, he was surrounded by Grimm, bleeding from a large slash wound. But he had managed to impale one with a pitchfork, without any training, or aura, he managed to kill a Grimm."

"Without any aura, didn't you say it was a year ago?" Pyrrha asks, shocked, it seems her question made Jaune sweat buckets, as he thought up an excuse, but to his rescue, albeit unwittingly, as she butts in, Weiss asks me, "So what did you do when that happened."

"Ah," I stopped there for a reason, this wasn't meant to be a story about me, but well, knowing Weiss, she probably already guessed. With a bit of dramatic flair, I continue "I felt so moved by his courage, I leapt from my window to fight the rest in his stead."

"Seriously, there were over 10 Beowolves left, and he killed them all!" Jaune seemed to shout at the intense memory of almost dying, or, wait was that out of jealousy because he only fought one?

"As expected of Ira." Pyrrha seems to have some sort of image of me, was I ever a hero type? Even Weiss thinks I have that sort of image, but catching her trying to hide the proudness in her eyes, I can't help but grin as we make eye contact.

"Hmph!" But almost immediately, she turns her head and storms off, just as an intercom comes on, telling us to make our way outside for initiation.

###

It was a beautiful day out, the sun high in the sky, not a cloud in sight, with a cool breeze making sure we didn't overheat, no better day to exercise, and for the students lined up on top of a cliff, they were lucky the elements were on their side, as they would soon find out, 'exercise' would be too light of a word for what they would soon experience.

"Uhm, Sir?" Sticking up his hand nervously, a blond haired boy, Jaune, asks the Professor standing in front of them, "You said something about landing strategy?" As he speaks, the sound of launch pads throwing students into the air resound, "Were you just gonna drop us off or?..."

"No, you will be falling."

"Oh…I…see…So did you, like, hand out parachutes for us?"

The pour student's anxiety must have completely blocked out his fellow initiates being hurled into the air, as the sounds of launch pads activating got closer. Just up the line, even closer to the sound, a student with silvery, grey hair turned to the girl at his right,

"Hey Pyrrha, I don't think Jaune has unlocked his aura yet." His voice was serious; making the girl in turn shocked rather than thinking it was an insult over Jaune's nervousness.

"What?!" Was the only thing she could reply as he continued,

"We need to help him land."

"You wan…" She tried to speak back, but her conversation partner had already been flown, "Oh no." With no solid plan, she leaned forward, looking down the line, and just as she caught sight of how far down the boy they had spoken about was, she too was launched head first into her Beacon Initiation.

###

Hopefully that takes care of that, sorry Pyrrha, but considering how you didn't even look at him earlier in the locker room, I had to take drastic measures to make sure everything followed the plot of the show. Setting up a few magic circles ahead of me, with two differing sides, the one I go into being attraction, and the one I come out being repulsion, I soar through the air like a nevermore.

Seeing the trees whiz below me, I can't help but think of Weiss, she certainly has changed from the Weiss I used to know, from how she beat that slingshot faunus yesterday so fast, it looks like she finally became the Weiss from the show, confident, strong, beau…..

Wait, was that the ruins I just flew past?

"Dammit!"

A/N

Yo, its been a while, huh?

To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure I would come back to this, but I was reading the story again, as if I was just a reader, and I was annoyed, like I'm sure some of you were, that there wasn't anymore. But this time, since I am the actual author, I can change that.

Admittedly, it might be as if a completely different person is writing it now, but it has been a while to say the least, so style, personality, and probably a lot of other things about the story might have changed because I as a person have changed. If it seems completely different speak up; I don't want to ruin the story of past me with some scribble.
