"Where have you been I was so worried?" Snow immediately started questioning her grandson as he walked into Granny's.
August had driven him there against Henry's objections. "You'll have to face them eventually" August said in attempts to convince the young boy to attend the wake. And it worked because now they were both walking into the diner pairs of eyes immediately resting on them.
"I-" Henry started to say in response to his grandmother's question, "Doesn't matter" he said trying to get away from the interrogation he knew was coming.
"Stop it right there buddy," David said stopping his grandson from walking away, "We deserve an explanation, you didn't show up and we were worried sick"
"I'm sorry," the boy said quickly before attempting to walk away again but was stopped once more.
"Where were you?"
"Where did you go?
"What happened?"
"Why didn't you call?"
Both the adults took turns asking questions and before he could answer they would go in for another round. His grandpa was right they did deserve an explanation, he had made a commitment and he bailed. But he really did not want to tell them that he had an anxiety attack and chickened out.
From across the room Regina noticed what was going on, she too wanted to ask questions but the charmings beet her to it since she was busy trying to keep an already drunk Hook from drinking too much. But when she sensed her sons discomfort she decided she had to step in. His breathing was quick and labored and he was looking around in distress attempting to get words out, if they wanted to get answers out of his that clearly wasn't the way.
"Excuse me," she said once she reached the small group by the door, "May I have a words with my son, alone?"
With that Snow and David walked away leaving her with Henry. "Thanks," he said grateful she got him out of the situation.
"Oh no, don't thank me yet," she said with a commanding tone, "I want answers, now? Where the hell were you? Because it certainly wasn't where you were supposed to be."
"Nowhere," he answered feeling defensive again
"You don't want to tell me where you were, fine. We'll just skip to the why. You had a duty and a responsibly yet you didn't show up, why?"
"It doesn't matter"
"No, I think it does," she pressed determined to get to the bottom of this, "Not only did you break a commitment but you ran off to who knows where, nobody knew where you were, and I was worried."
"I don't want to talk about it," Henry said raising his voice
"Well tough," her voice also raising a few notches
"Look, why don't you try something called giving people privacy. If I don't want to talk about it then you're just going to have to respect that and deal with it" he said defiantly before walking away and sitting in a booth with his arms crossed.
Regina was at a loss on what to do next. For one she wanted to walk up to him and tell him that was no way to speak to his mother, but she knew it would only cuse more of a scene. She tried telling reminding herself that he was hurting, but then again it's no excuse to react like that. He also had a point, she had to respect that it was his own business, but if it had her worried then it definitely becomes her business, she is still his mother. Before she had time to decide how to react she heard a gagging noise coming from behind the counter and she went to check it out.
The noise turned out to be coming from Hook who for the first time could not hold his liquor, yet even after throwing up he attempted to reach for another bottle. Regina stopped him quickly then turned to Ruby who was helping out, "I got this, you go try and see if you can get Henry in a better mood or at least get him to eat a decent meal."
Ruby nodded and walked away while Regina stayed with Hook crouched behind the counter. She got help from the janitor in cleaning up the vomit, while she made the pirate wash his mouth and then sat him down in a table far away from any alcoholic drink and proceeded to make him drink water. But the task proved to be more tedious than she expected.
After giving the eulogy the numbness around Killian washed away and he was now feeling every emotion, he hated it. The numbness was safe, it kept all the pain away, now that it was gone he needed it back. He needed that security, he needed to not feel. Rum can give him that so he has spent the last forty minutes drinking as much as he can in order to let the numbness take ahold again.
Meanwhile Henry sat in a booth looking out the window trying his best to block out his surroundings. In the ten minutes he has been sitting there fifteen people had come up to tell him how they were sorry and how his mother died a hero. He responded to each of them with a small forced smile but rolled his eyes once they left. Violet sat with him for a while but left since Henry was too involved in his thoughts to pay much attention to her.
He felt bad about the way he reacted towards Regina, it was out of line and he knew that. He was the one who screws up, he didn't have the right to be mad. But he was, he was furious, at who? He wasn't sure. He considered apologizing to his adoptive mom, but that would mean giving an explanation and he really did not want to do that.
"Hey kiddo," he heard a voice calling him and when he turned around he saw that the owner was Ruby.
"Hey," he said unenthusiastically
"Want something to eat? Anything you want I'll make it, doesn't even have to be on the menu."
"No, I'm good," he said sending a tiny forced smile her way
"Are you sure?" she kept asking, "How about an ice cream sundae, extra everything?"
"Still not hungry"
He had so much going on he was sure if he ate he would throw up, but Ruby wasn't about to give up that easily.
"Okay, how about a big cup of hot chocolate, huh? Extra cinnamon?"
"Look, I'm really not in the mood, I appreciate the effort but could you just back off please" he said a little more aggressive than it was supposed to be.
Ruby then took the hint and walked away feeling a bit hurt. "Any luck?" Regina asked. She shaked her her head gaining a frustrated sigh from Regina.
"I really don't know what to do with him anymore," she said sounding both frustrated and disappointed
"Right now it's probably best you give him space," Ruby said attempting to help
"Space? All I've done is give him space, we barely spoke a word to each other in three weeks. Trust me he's had space."
"Listen I'm sure you'll figure it out," Ruby said sympathetically, "Let me know if you need anything."
Back at the charmings table Snow was desperately trying to get Neal to sleep since it was way past his bedtime and he was getting fussy, while her husband continued to pick at the piece of lasagna he had been looking at for the past five minutes not taking a single bite.
Suddenly the bell ringed letting everyone know somebody had walked in. Everyone looked to see that it was Gold, Belle, and their once again new born baby who had caused the very reason for this gathering. The room was silent for an unknown amount of time until that was interrupted by a very angry Killian lunging him self at the crocodile.
The pirate pushed him out the half open door and started beating him, throwing punches in his face and drawing blood."You're gonna pay for what your son did crocodile!" He yelled, "And then he's gonna pay," he shouted throwing another punch, "I'm gonna wait till he's older and then kill Belle, see how he likes having his mother killed in front of him," he thew another punch, "Then once he's older and in love I'm going to kill that person. And I'm gonna do that again, and again, and again until everyone he's ever loved is dead!"
He was about to throw another punch when some magical force stopped his hand inches away from Gold's face, reminding Killian that the dark one had magic. "No, pirate," he said spitting out some blood that had dripped into his mouth, "You're going to pay for what you just did"
He was about to send some sort of spell towards Killian when David stepped in front yelling, "Hey!"
Behind the three men people had begun flooding out of the diner in attempts to see what was going on, "Alright nothing to see here all of you back inside" David commended and everyone complied leaving only the three men, Snow, and Belle outside.
Of to the side Snow was half talking, half yelling at Belle about something. She knew the brunette hadn't intended any harm by coming but it still angered and pained her to see Belle carrying her baby, when that baby had killed her baby.
"Alright dearie why don't you step aside so I can finish what Captain Hook over here started," Gold said preparing to send his magic flying once more.
"Actually, dearie, why don't you get your wife and son and get out of here before this get's even more ugly," the prince responded with authority, yet hatred was still present in his voice.
With that they walked away not wanting to cause more trouble, leaving David to deal with Killian.
"Listen mate," Hook started but was interrupted by Charming grabbing his collar.
"What the hell were you thinking?" he yelled, "You can't just start beating up the dark one and making those types of threats, especially not in display for the whole town to see."
"I-" Killian said attempting to explain himself but David was one step ahead
"I don't care how angry you are," He continued yelling, "You think I wasn't angry? The minute I saw them with their perfect little family I wanted to do the exact same thing you did, but I didn't. Because I have a little thing called self control. A concept you need to get a little more familiar with, and fast. I mean what were you trying to get out from this? You get a few good punches in and then what? He retaliates by uses his magic and kills you. You start threatening his family like that, he goes all Dark One on us and not only goes after our family but the entire town. Then what? You can't act upon every impulse you get, you have to think of the consequences and control yourself."
He was now calmer but he continued not releasing his collar, "I heard the threats you made, and you can't follow through. You can't go down this revenge obsessed road again, look where it got you the first time. You said it yourself, Emma changed the foundation of your soul for the better. She wouldn't want for you to throw away everything you worked for and fall right back to how you were before you met."
With that he released Killian from his grasp and asked one final question, "You understand what I'm saying?"
Killian only nodded but he truly understood.

Hey guys, I know this is extremely short I originally planned on adding more to this chapter but I just really wanted to update and this was all I had. I know it's been forever but I went on vacation, then school and volleyball season started, and I had too much going on. However I promise I will not discontinue this story and will update sooner next time. Thank you for the wait and I hope you enjoyed despite everything. :)
