It was now the day after the funeral and Henry walked into Granny's to talk to Regina, just like they had agreed upon the night before. After he and Regina parted he went back home where Killian was already waiting for him. They didn't say a single word to each other, just kept each other company, either of them being able to sleep. They silently watched tv until eventually they both drifted into sleep. Now Henry stood outside of the diner anxious to hear what his mother would want to talk about. As he entered the building he saw his mother was already there talking to Ruby. He walked in side and approached her.

"Hi" he said sounding a bit nervous, and she responded with another "hi" and a tone showing equal signs of nervousness.

"Were you waiting long?" he asked making small talk

"No, not at all I just got here," she responded, "I didn't know if you had eaten breakfast so I just ordered us some hot chocolates"

"Sounds perfect you know I'm always up for hot chocolate," he said with a small smile

"How have you been?" Regina asked after a small moment of awkward silence

"Okay I guess," he said with a shrug not really knowing how he was feeling himself, "You?"

"Okay as well," she said and after another short moment of awkward silence continued, "Want to find a place to sit?"

"Yeah totally," he said before they walked to the nearest booth and sat across from each other.

They both fiddled with their fingers unsure of what to say next, awkwardness filling the air around them with tension. There were so many things they both wanted to say, but neither knew how to begin.

"So what was you plan?" Henry said spitefully breaking the silence, "Were you just going to have me walk around pretending Emma never existed?"

"What? Henry of course not" she answered, hurt that he believed she would do that.

"Then why were you going to take my memories away?"

"I was only trying to take away one, one memory, I swear. Come on can you blame me, you remember how bad it got."

He looked down at his hands and mumbled, "It wasn't that bad"

"You were having panic attacks at nightmares daily, you wouldn't talk to anyone and when you did you just got angry, every little reminder of Emma triggered you, I mean, it was bad Henry. I just wanted to help you." Regina said sounding a bit angry at first but caring towards the end.

"It wouldn't have taken away any of the pain you know," the young boy said feeling remorseful for the way he acted

"Maybe, but at least you would've been able to sleep through the night" she said with a tiny smile

"Look, I'm sorry, I never should've tried to take away your memories behind your back. Even if I was doing it to help you I should have tried a different approach and tried to talk to you, I never meant for it to get this out of control"

Now Henry felt really bad. He should have just talked to her about it instead of lashing out and shutting her out completely. Why had he been screwing everything up recently? He was angry at Regina before the incident when she hadn't done anything but try to help him and when he caught her with the dreamcatcher his mind immediately thought the worst and his anger prevented him from figuring out what really happened. Even though his adoptive mom wasn't completely in the right she wasn't completely in the wrong either, and either was he.

"I'm sorry too," he said remorsefully, "I got way too upset to hear you out and I said things I didn't mean, even before the whole dreamcatcher incident."

Regina knew that, amongst other things, her son was apologizing for the things he said about her being glad Emma is dead. She attempted to say something but he stopped her asking her to let him finish.

"I know you're not happy Mom is gone and I know that everything you were doing was with my best interest at heart, I was just too busy thinking about myself to realize what you were doing for me. I've just been so angry and, I guess I was taking it all out on you. So, I'm sorry."

By the end of their apologies both of their eyes were beginning to sting with the threat of becoming watery, but they shook it off and continued with their long overdue conversation.

"I really appreciate that Henry, but can I ask something?" she said curious about something he mentioned

"Shoot"

"Who are you angry at?" she asked and after noticing the look of confusion on his face she explained, "You said that you were angry and that you've been taking that anger out on me. So if you weren't mad at me, you where you mad at?"

This question really had stumped him. Who was he mad at? At the moment he couldn't place it all one one thing even if his life depended on it. Thankfully Ruby interrupted their conversation by bringing their hot chocolates.

"I am so sorry they took this long," she said as she set them down in front of them, "I had them done a while ago but when I was bringing them out I tripped and made a huge mess, the cups broke, half of the drink spilled on the floor, and what didn't landed on me not only burning me but staining my brand new shirt, as you can see by the stain. Wow, this job was way harder than I remembered. Anyways is there anything else I can get you guys?"

The mother and son duo looked at each other smirking before looking back at the waitress and responding, "No, were good" and "Thanks"

After she left Regina lost her train of thought and Henry took the opportunity to avoid responding the question. "So, are we good?" he asked hopefully.

"Yeah, we're good?" Regina said glad they finally resolved this issue.

"Good, 'cause I'm already down to one mother and I am not going lower than that." Henry said with a real smile, which quickly turned into a frown once he realized how true that statement now was.

His mother noticed this and changed the subjects in attempts to cheer him up.

"So, any plans for today?" she asked before taking a sip of her warm beverage.

"Well, Killian said he was going to take me sailing later," the boy said excitingly

"Really?" she responded not missing the change from 'Hook' to 'Killian'.

"Yes really, and before you get all overprotective it's totally safe, Killian used to take me all the time back when I had my New York memories, he's teaching me how to sail and I'm getting pretty good, plus he says the ocean helps calm you down and process your emotions better."

"I wasn't going to say anything overprotective," she said defensively, then continued when her son gave her the 'yeah, right' look, "I was actually going to say that I think it's a really great idea."

And just like that the pair continued to have a nice, normal conversation, they even laughed at times. Both glad they were able to put aside their differences and come together again. They were especially glad that at least now their relationship was the one thing that was back to normal, and throughout the course of that meeting, they were happy.

/A little while back/

Henry had been sitting in front of the tv for about an hour now and he was finally about to pass the level he had been working on when his mom interrupted him, "Hey kid," Emma said poking into the living room, "mind if I join you?"

Henry groaned as he lost his concentration and lost, "I'm not really in the mood for a talk right now Mom" he said. They had all found out about her visions about two days ago and with everything going on they hadn't really discussed it, and honestly he didn't want to. Saying it out loud would make it way too real.

"Well then we won't talk," she said casually plopping on the couch next to him, "maybe I can help you beat that level," she said while picking up the extra controller.

The pair had been playing for almost and hour and leveled up a couple times when Emma spoke up, "So with everything going on I never really had time to ask you if you were ok with this"

"Ok with what?" he asked still playing the game, a bit nervous she would bring up the visions

"With hook moving in," she replied quickly glancing at him and then focusing on the game again

"Oh," he said taken aback by his mothers question

"I mean I assumed you'd be okay with it since you helped pick out the house for us, but I still should've checked in"

"Mom you don't have to ask me permission to move in with your boyfriend" he replied with a small chuckle

"I do though," she said more seriously, "this is your house as much as mine, you deserve a say in what goes on around here too"

"We'll you assumed right, I am okay with it," he replied still playing the game, "I just want you to be happy, besides Hook's pretty cool"

Emma smiled glad her son seemed happy with Hook being a part of their family, if her vision played out she wanted them to be there for each other.

Now it was Henry's turn to ask a question, "Mom?" he said turning to face her, "you're gonna be okay right?"

Emma quickly paused the game and turned to face her son, unsure how to answer. He looked so scared and worried, she didn't want to make it worse.

"I mean, I know there's the visions and stuff but, you have a plan right, a way to defeat this?" he continued

Emma was even more unsure of how to answer now, her son looked way younger now than he actually was and she didn't know how to break his little heart. Truth is she didn't know how to defeat this, or if she even could.

"I don't know kid," she said sadly

"But, you're figuring it out though right? You can win? Like you always do?"

"Yeah kid," she said unable to take his hope away, "I'm definitely trying, and I'm not giving up, ever. Okay? I'm not going away any time soon."

"You promise?"

"Kid you know I can't do that"

"Promise me," he said with tearful eyes, "promise me you're not gonna die"

Emma knows she can't promise him something like that, something she isn't sure about herself, "Henry," she said in a pleading tone

"Please Mom," he interrupted, "I need you"

"Okay," she agreed unable to turn him down anymore.

"Thank you," Henry said quickly hugging her. He kissed her cheek and then turned back to playing the video game, feeling reassured by his moms promise.

Emma on the other hand felt even more uneasy, she knew she had made her son a promise she couldn't keep. But if she was sure about one thing, it's that she won't stop trying to keep her promise for as long as she could.

/Present Day/

Henry had just finished packing up his stuff for the day when he heard Killian calling him from downstairs

"Ready lad?" Killian said as Henry made his way downstairs

"Ready" he replied as they both headed out and made their way to the Jolly Roger for their outing.

/a day or two after the last flashback/

Emma, Killian and henry had all been watching a movie to relax after a long day, Killian and Emma on the couch and Henry on the floor since he was eating pizza. After the movie ended the boy turned around to mention to his mother how good the movie was when he realized she had fallen asleep, head on Killian's lap.

He was about to wake her when Killian stopped him, "No, no, no," he whispered, "let her sleep"

The young boy complied and moved his hand away from his mother's shoulder.

"Guess you're stuck now huh?" Henry whispered with a sympathetic smile

"I don't mind," Killian replied, "between the villains in town and the visions she hasn't been getting any sleep. I'll let her rest for a while then take her up."

Henry knew he was right, although this mother would never admit it she was exhausted. Maybe she wasn't as sure about everything as she seemed to be. "She's really worried about these visions, isn't she?" he asked

"Aye," he responded sadly

At the word the Henry immediately became extremely worried again. If his mom was so worried about this she was losing sleep, then something was seriously not going to plan. He started to worry she only seemed sure they could beat this to make him feel better.

Killian noticed the change in the young boys features and quickly tried to reassure him.

"I'm not going to lie to you Henry, nothing in the future is ever certain, we can't ever truly know what it holds. But I can assure you of one thing, I will never stop fighting to protect you and your mother. And while I don't know exactly what these visions mean, I do know that I will do everything in my power to stop them from happening. I assure you Henry nothing will ever happen to either of you while I'm here to save you, that's a promise"

"Thank you," the boy replied. "Night Mom," he whispered quietly before softly kissing her cheek, "Night Killian," he whispered before making his way up the stairs

/Present Day/

"All set lad?" Killian asked now on the boat, breaking Henry out of his trance

"Yep," he replied ready to set sail

"Alright then," Killian replied untying the boat form the dock, "let's sail away"
