"And that was the short, short tale of how Earthni was formed. Any questions?" Star asked as she sat on a chair in a classroom smiling enthusiastically. Behind her, there was a whiteboard with the sentence 'How Earthni was formed.'
In front of Star, there were a group of kids aged somewhere between five and six. One of them raised their hands in the air and asked, "Who are these people?"
"Oh, guess I didn't go into great detail." Star said in realisation. "Sorry, I was kind of busy writing my speech for the one year anniversary of the merger of Earthni."
"And I hope it to be a great speech." Said a black skinned teacher with a white goatee, black hair with a bit of white strands coming along, wore some tweed and pulled a smile that showed off his pearly whites. "Certainly better then this story. You did try Miss Butterfly, but when you're telling this story to the class next year, might I suggest some more detail? Especially on your relationship with Marco, I feel that needs more development."
"Yes, of course Mr Rick." Stan replied.
"Well, thanks for coming and good luck with tonight's speech." Mr Rick said. "Shame I can't make it though. Too much surgery stuff." The teacher then sighed. "I miss eating pudding."
Later, Star was walking back to the Diaz's across Earthni, which looked beautiful to say the least despite the fact people and monsters were living together. There were houses and huts all around the place and a lot of the stores sold a wide range of food for humans, Mewmans and monsters. Due to some of the monsters being big and had to be educated outside, there were ginormous school seats and a desk in front of them. Even the bowling balls had to made bigger for the monster's fingers.
But the giant monsters did get jobs. Some of them worked in construction in order to lift some of the more heavier parts for stuff like buildings and schools.
But the cars did remain the same. But some of the more faster monsters moved faster then usual in order to get around.
Star soon arrived back at the Diaz residence which looked bigger due to some improvements ever since the Butterflies moved in. Inside the house, Rafael Diaz and former king, River Butterfly were on their knees watching as Mariposa; Rafael and Angie Diaz's one year old daughter; Playing with her toys. Rafael and River had been trying to get Mariposa to walk, since she'd be at the age where she should be able to walk.
"Come on my little Mariposa, you can do it." Rafael said while holding his hands out to catch her in case she fell.
"Come on little Mariposa!" River exclaimed. "Get up walk to your papa and give him a hug!"
"River, you have to be gentle with her." Rafael advised the former king.
"But I am being gentle!" River loudly argued.
Rafael sighed before going back to smiling. "Come on Mariposa. Walk to papa! Walk to papa!"
Mariposa stared at her father, staring at him confused before picking up a plastic block and handed it to him.
Rafael just sighed in defeat, feeling disappointed that his daughter wasn't walking yet.
"If it's any consolation Rafael, Star didn't take her first step until she was three months old." River said in an effort to try and cheer up the head Diaz.
"How does that help?" Rafael asked.
"Because it took too long!" River yelled.
Just then, Star entered the house pulling her signature enthusiastic smile. "Hey Dad, hey Mr Diaz, hey Mrs Diaz and hey Mom!"
"Oh hello Star." Rafael greeted the former Princess back.
"Hello sweetie." River greeted her daughter.
"Oh hi sweetie, how did it go?" The former queen Moon, asked from the kitchen where she was making some pies with Angie.
"Oh, teacher wasn't so enthusiastic." Star replied.
"You've been too busy working on that speech haven't you?" Angie asked.
"Yeah and I didn't have time to work out what I was gonna say to the first graders." Star groaned.
"Oh don't be so down Star, surely your speech at the event will fair better." Rafael said assuringly. "I mean, you're fairing better than I."
"Has Mariposa started walking?" Star asked.
"No." Rafael replied sadly.
"Well, keep trying!" Star said before running up stairs.
"We'll try." Rafael replied back.
Just then, Mariposa made a little chuckle and the two dads then saw that Mariposa started to move her legs a bit. This sight caused River and Rafael to smile in confidence.
"Oh sweet happiness, Mariposa is gonna walk!" Rafael exclaimed happily.
"Finally!" River yelled in happiness before his face turned to disappointment. "Oh wait a minute, she was just moved her leg so she could get that Mego brick."
Rafael's face then slumped with disappointment while River just stared at Mariposa with disappointment.
"When you're older, this face will haunt you in your dreams." River said while aggressively pointing to Rafael's disappointed face.
Meanwhile, Star had just made it upstairs to the door that lead to her boyfriend, Marco Diaz's bedroom. She knocked on the door and said enthusiastically, "Oh Marco…." Star knocked on the bedroom door and realised it was open. When she got inside, she saw that her boyfriend was sleeping on his office chair and laying on the desk where there were a pile of papers in front of him.
And beside him, slept his beloved dragon-cycle, Nachos. Star tiptoed pass the sleeping vehicle/pet and approached her sleeping boyfriend.
She shook him on the shoulder with her hand. "Marco."
Marco only made a funny groan as he slept and waved his hands to move Star away.
"Come on Mr Diaz, wake up." Star said in an enthusiastic sing song voice.
"Can't wake up, sleeping." Marco replied. "Give Marco two more hours or three or perhaps 24."
"MARCO DIAZ!" Star's loud yell made the martial arts loving teen wake up from his slumber.
"Ahh! I'm awake!" Marco screamed. "Wait, what time is it?"
"Time for you to get up." Star replied. "We have an hour before our big speech."
"Wait, that's today?!" Marco exclaimed. "Aww man! I was busy…." Marco then froze and realised that his girlfriend was in front of him and he stuttered to come up with a lie. "….With…My homework."
"I bet it was." Star said teasingly and tapping his nose.
"Did you finish your speech?" Marco asked his girlfriend.
"All 12 pages and 19 paragraphs." Star replied happily. "How about you?"
"I only got the first word." Marco replied sadly as he showed his piece of paper to Star. The only word Marco had managed to write down happened to be 'Hey.'
"Hey?" Star laughed.
"I couldn't finish it." Marco protested. "I was busy with other things."
"Well, whatever it was, I hope it was sorted out." Star said. "Cause let's not forget, this isn't the only anniversary we have to attend together."
Marco then stared at his girlfriend, confused about what she was implying. "Uh….There is."
"Yeah." Star replied. "Can you even remember what it is?"
"Uh…..The anniversary of Britta's Tacos being destroyed and the owner deciding to move it to a different location?" Marco asked, pretending to be dumb.
Star then groaned in disappointment. "You are clueless sometimes." She then gave an enthusiastic smile. "But you'll figure it out." The former Princess of Mewni then gave her boyfriend a quick kiss on the lips before leaving his room.
The teenage boy smiled at his girlfriend and then turned to his pet dragon-cycle, whom had just awakened. "I think I dodged a bullet, Nachos. She hasn't noticed." Marco then grabbed a small brown box and opened it to reveal a silver bracelet with some spectacular carvings of a box of nachos to remember all the nacho nights, a beach to remember their beach day, a moon to remember the blood moon dance, a stage to remember the Love Sentence concert and a stable to remember their first official kiss; The photo booth didn't count.
"Pretty neat her?" Marco asked his pet.
Nacho then stared at her owner with a displeased look before going back to sleep.
Marco narrowed his eyes at his pet dragon-cycle and said, "Come on girl, I tried."
Later, at the Earthni anniversary festival which had a lot of people in attendance. Not only were there humans in attendance, but also Mewmans and also a lot of monsters. There were stands that had little games with prizes, stands with all sorts of snacks and even some rides like a huge Ferris wheel. But there was some security at the event just in case of any shenanigans taking place. The main heads of security were none other then Buffrog and the former Sensei Brantley.
"The way of the security guard isn't a job, it is a code that must be followed without question." Sensei Brantley monologued. "It is a code that demands the upmost of patience, discipline and a time where being strict and rough is the only way to protect the weak."
Buffrog sighed due to his co-worker's strange urge to monologue.
"Brantley, you have this urge to talk out loud." Buffrog noted. "Don't you think maybe you should give it a rest?"
"No can do Strongfrog." Sensei Brantley replied.
"Buffrog."
"But the code of a security guard needs to be repeated in order to be remembered." Sensei Brantley explained.
Buffrog gave a sigh of brief annoyance as he tried to tolerate is co-worker. "Don't forget Buffrog, 12 more minutes and you get to spend time with kids." Buffrog whispered to himself.
Then Buffrog looked up and saw something mysterious. He saw what appeared to be a mysterious hooded figure standing over a roof. Buffrog rubbed his eyes and once he stopped rubbing them, the mysterious figure seemed to have vanished from his sight.
"Hmm, must be seeing things again." Buffrog said to himself.
"That and a security guard never-"
"Brantley, just finish." Buffrog interjected.
At the festival, Star and Marco were walking whilst holding hands admiring what the mayor had put together to celebrate such a strange, yet beautiful merging of two worlds.
"I can't believe Eclipsa spent a lot of money for such an occasion." Star commented. "Then again, she is spending a lot of money on a huge statue and I don't even know what it is."
"If it's a statue of us they better get my mole on the right side of my face." Marco said. "Because Miss Kapoo really doesn't have a keen eye for detail as she claims she does."
"Aww come on Marco." Star encouraged her boyfriend. "She's trying at least. I mean sure she got your mole on the wrong side of your face and somehow got the number of eyes on Tom's face wrong. Then again, she is trying."
"Yeah." Marco reluctantly agreed.
The boy then noticed a photo booth and thought of a bright idea. "Hey, wanna have a shot in the photo booth?"
"Okay." Star replied. "But there better not be any weird goblins in there this time."
Once Star pulled the curtain, she found something more shocking than a goblin with a small red moustache. Star and Marco froze in shock as they noticed none other then Star's ex boyfriend, Tom Lucitor; Kissing the weirdest girl in Echo Creek, Janna Ordonia. The two soon realised they had been spotted and pulled out of the kiss.
"Nothing!" Janna exclaimed. "We're doing nothing! Nothing romantic!"
"Yes!" Tom lied. "We were trying to eat each other's salsa off our lips."
"Passionately?" Marco queried.
The weird couple froze and looked at each other and then replied with shoulder shrugs.
"Come on you two, you've been at it for 10 months." The former Princess of Mewni commented. "Why won't you two say what we already know?"
"You don't know we're dating!" Tom protested as he walked out of the photo booth with his 'Not girlfriend.'
"Wow, not exactly perfect at hiding it." Marco commented.
"Come on Mr Diaz…." Star then took Marco's arm and pulled him into the photo booth with her.
Inside the booth, the couple started posing for their romantic pictures. The two cuddled in the first photo, then the two pulled stupid faces in the second photo, then in the third they were laughing and in the final, the two were giving each other a kiss on the lips with Star using her hands to cover Marco's cheeks.
Once they got out they went to retrieve their photos. The two then realised that there were another set of photos that were printed out before and that turned out to be of Janna and Tom.
The first one had Janna kissing a blushing Tom on the cheek, the second had the two cuddling while almost about to share a kiss, the third had them two kissing and the final one had the two kissing passionately.
Star and Marco stared at each other while smirking and trying to hold their laughter at how Tom and Janna were failing to hide their relationship.
"Oh Tom." Star laughed.
Later, the new mayor of Echo Creek, Eclipsa Butterfly was walking on a stage with a ginormous bald, dark skinned man with a black goatee and a suit and tie. The audience, which also included Eclipsa's husband, Globgor; and her one year old daughter, Meteora. Others in attendance included the now human Miss Skullnick, Tom, Janna, Katrina and the rest of her siblings, Jackie and her French girlfriend, Chloe; Tom's parents, Wrathmelior and Dave; Mr Rick, Janna's parents, Pony Head, Star's parents and Marco's family. Both the Diaz's and the Butterflies were in the front so they could get a better view of their respective children giving out their speeches.
Rafael was resting his daughter on his lap while she had her arms out like she wanted to go somewhere. This sight made Rafael think Mariposa was gonna try and walk.
This made him smile and he put her to the ground whilst he got his video camera out. But she instead crawled, picked up a random wallet and handed it to her father.
This made Rafael sigh with both relief and disappointment. "Thank you Mariposa." He took the wallet from his daughter's hand, picked her up and placed her back on his lap, still feeling disappointed she hadn't taken her first steps.
His wife, Angie patted him on the back to try and make him feel a little better.
"Dear, give Mariposa some time." Angie said gently. "Just because she's one doesn't mean she'll start walking. I mean, at least you're not being aggressive."
"Make your papa happy!" River exclaimed to Mariposa. "Walk for him!"
Mariposa only laughed at River's silliness instead of being intimidated by him.
Moon sighed at her husband being himself and whispered, "Breathe. Breathe. Breathe."
The town mayor tapped on the mic to see if it was in anyway working. "Testing. Testing."
"Testing!" Eclipsa's bodyguard screamed into the mic, causing everyone in the audience to cover their ears.
"Yes. Yes. Thanks Roman." Eclipsa said before getting into position to do her speech. "Hello, people of Echo Creek. As a lot of you are aware, today is the one year anniversary of Earthni."
Everyone cheered and applauded when Eclipsa made that statement. The former queen of Mewni made a hand gesture that told everyone to lower their voices.
"Thank you. Thank you." Eclipsa said. "I remember the day when Earthni was formed. It was a strange and terrifying experience and I didn't exactly know what to make of it. It felt different yet there were places I recognised whilst there were places I didn't. Like a taco stand. I had no idea what a taco stand was at that point in time. Things weren't made any better when I was made mayor. I mean, it just happened so fast…."
Eclipsa and her husband were walking with Globgor carrying Meteora in a baby carrier. Meteora was smiling while Eclipsa and Globgor were looking around the recently formed Earthni trying to get their head around it.
"Was this all because of Star and Marco?" Globgor asked his wife.
"I have the idea that it could be." Eclipsa replied.
"Do you think we'll be okay?" Globgor asked. "Will this be the best place to raise our daughter?"
"It may take some time." Eclipsa replied. "Especially finding a new job and home."
Just then a random person ran up to Eclipsa, sweating and panting. "Excuse me, do you know anything about leadership?"
"Well…I was a queen." Eclipsa replied.
"Good, you're mayor now!" The man yelled before handing over a badge that said mayor.
After the man ran away, a bunch of men in suits and ties arrived, possibly the council. The man with the grey goatee stared at Eclipsa, analysing her before sighing.
"That coward." The man said in an Irish accent. "Well, you're mayor now. What do we do about this?"
Eclipsa and Globgor froze in confusion, while Meteora was just smiling.
"Well, that crosses finding a job off our list." Globgor commented.
Now.
"…Literally." Eclipsa coughed. "Anyway, first off before we move on to our first special guest, I wish to give a speech….."
While Eclipsa started to give out her speech, Star and Marco were behind the stage, waiting for one of their cues to go on stage to give out their speech.
While Star was looking confident about her speech, Marco was feeling nervous since he didn't exactly write anything due to wanting to give Star a perfect gift for their anniversary.
"Hey Marco, you nervous?" Star asked.
"No." Marco lied. "Well…..Actually, Star I-"
"Little worried about your speech?" Star interjected. "Marco, when you're on, just don't be afraid and speak from the heart. That's what most leaders do."
"Star, it's not just about that." Marco explained.
"Well what is it?" Star asked with her smile.
"Star….I do remember what the other anniversary is." Marco explained as he handed Star the brown box containing her anniversary present.
Star stared at her boyfriend in amazement as her eyes glittered, feeling overwhelmed by her boyfriend's gift.
"Marco, is that why you didn't work on your speech?" Star asked.
"Yeah." Marco replied. "That's one of the reasons. Just thought you might not like it. I mean, I spent three weeks getting the money for it."
"Oh, that explains why you were a karate teacher." Star said with realisation.
"Yeah." Marco confirmed. "Ever since Eclipsa became mayor, that job has started to pay well. Which is why I got the job. Just to pay for that gift. Made by the master molter, Ermorer."
"Aww Marco." Star took the box and was about to share a passionate kiss with Marco but…..
"Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Marco Diaz." Eclipsa's announcement caused Marco and Star to pause and to stop their kiss.
Everyone's applause caused Marco to quickly say 'See ya later! Don't open it when I'm gone!' Marco then ran up the stage and waved to those in attendance who still applauded.
"Ah yeah!" Pony Head yelled. "Give it ya best, Earth turd! Or should it be Earthni turd now?! I don't care! Wooo! Earth turd!"
"Hi, hi." Marco said nervously as he approached the mic.
"Good luck baby!" Angie yelled from the audience.
"Mom, everyone's watching." Marco groaned in embarrassment.
"Yeah! Go on baby Earth turd!" Pony Head shouted from the audience.
Marco sighed and coughed. "Well, I didn't exactly have a speech prepared….But I'm gonna try speaking from the heart."
The audience cheered and applauded him, but Meteora just narrowed her eyes at Marco due to hating him for whatever the reason.
"So….One year, Huh?" Marco started. "I can't believe it's been that long since Earthni formed because of me…..I've been called many things in my lifetime, the safety kid, karate boy, Princess Turdina." The Princess Turdina part made everyone laugh, even Meteora. "Honestly, that wasn't a joke. But being known as one of the founders of Earthni has been kind of a great and nerve wracking honour. One hand, it's great creating a planet where humans, Mewmans and monsters can live in harmony. But on the other; Some people have started to hate me because of it….And did I stop? Nah Uh. Even with those trials and errors, I never gave up and those who still haven't gotten used to their new surroundings shouldn't either. I know my speech may seem cliched to some, but when stuff changes, it's something hard and something we need to try and overcome. So, to those who are still bummed out by the changes, don't try and hide in the dark and blame and hate someone, just come out into the light and try. Thank you, let's give it up for Earthni."
Everyone in the audience applauded Marco's speech, but Pony Head couldn't due to being a floating pony head.
"Hey, ya'll better be clapping for me!" Pony Head exclaimed. "Because I can't clap!"
Marco soon got off the stage and was attacked by one of Star's signature hugs. "Marco, that speech was amazing!" Star exclaimed. "Love that you spoke from the heart!"
"Yeah, glad it worked." Marco said before noticing Star wearing the bracelet he got her for their anniversary. "I told you not to open it until I was done."
"I got impatient, Mr Diaz." Star replied cheekily.
"Well…."
"I love it Mr Diaz." Star replied. "All of our precious memories in one bracelet." Star and Marco then finally shared a passionate kiss with each other. But it soon had to stop once Star was called on to stage.
"To be continued?" Marco asked.
Star replied by handing Marco a wrapped package which he accepted. "To be continued."
Star then started to walk up the stage to give out her speech to the citizens of Echo Creek. Just as Star did that, Marco couldn't help but stop staring at his anniversary gift and look up to notice a mysterious figure staring down from a nearby building.
Star then got up on the stage and stood in front of the podium to give out her speech. Everyone in the audience cheered and clapped at Star. Even Meteora since she liked Star.
"Go on B-Fly!" Pony Head screamed. "Go ahead and kill em!"
"Thanks Pony-Head." Star replied before coughing. "Wow. Like Mr Diaz mentioned, it's been a year since Earthni formed. All thanks to us. I have a speech prepared so I should go ahead and start." Star then pulled about a ton pieces of paper from her pocket and placed them on the podium, preparing to make the speech of a lifetime.
But as Star did that, many more mysterious figures were standing on the edge of the buildings looking ready for something.
"Oooookay, totally, totally got my speech ready." Star then coughed and looked at her speech she had in front of her. "The story of how Mewni and Earth came together is a bit of a complicated story. One that involved heartbreak, love, war and-"
"Genocide." Interjected a deep and gravelly voice.
Just then, somebody shone a spotlight on a building in front of the stage and Star, causing everyone to turn on their seats to look at what the spotlight was shining on.
Pony Head looked to the others who had only turned their heads and most of their spines. This sight made Pony-Head smile. "Ha! The positives sides about being just a head."
The spotlight shone on a figure wearing black boots, a maroon suit, a dark blue cape, a hood and a mask of what looked like a dragon. He stood on the edge of the building, looking like he was ready to jump or something. He lifted his head upwards to look down on the people who were just noticing him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would first off like to give a toast to Earthni." The figure started. "Created by a karate master and a genocidal maniac."
Star froze upon being called that. I mean sure she's been called worse, but a genocidal maniac? That's just…..Mean.
"When former Princess Star Butterfly formed Earthni, she not only created piece and harmony for humans, Mewmans and monsters throughout…." While the figure continued to make his speech, it also caught the attention of Buffrog and Sensei Brantley, who had stopped his monologuing. "…..this planet. It also had nasty side effects. Because of Star, the destruction of magic has wiped out everyone who needed magic to live. Innocents! Innocents who've done nothing except walked, talked and breathed! Not only did Star's destruction of magic kill all magic life, but it also damaged resources in other dimensions….." Everyone stared at the masked figure with worry and fear, not knowing what this man was planning. "….You're wondering what I want. I'm not looking to kill, steal or take over Earthni, I want Star Butterfly to stand trial for what she has done since she's the real monster." Marco clenched his fists in anger while Star froze with tears coming from her eyes. "I am not the monster here. Neither is Eclipsa, Moon, Meteora, Mina, Marco or the other monsters, the real monster is Star Butterfly."
Star glared at the man with anger. If she had her magic, she would've narwhal blasted him off the roof, never to be seen again.
"You're also wondering who I am." The man continued. "You shall call me Heckaron: Leader of the….The….The…The….Okay, we're still coming up with a name but….Anyway, my army, reveal yourselves dramatically."
The other spotlights shone on the buildings to reveal more people, wearing the same mask as the leader.
"Star Butterfly, give yourself up." Heckaron demanded. "Or we'll send more messages like this. Unknown Equalist Group, let us vanish!"
Just then, Heckaron and the rest of his army disappeared in a flash of smoke and leaving everyone to fear of what will happen next.
Marco ran up on stage to check on his girlfriend, who had tears falling from her eyes.
"Star?" Marco asked.
"Marco…..Is he, right?" Star asked her boyfriend.
They only stared in silence while Eclipsa tried to calm the audience down from panicking even harder. Was he right? Was Star truly a monster who only thought of herself than the lives of others?
