It was Saturday and for whatever the reason, Star Butterfly, Marco Diaz, Tom Lucitor, Janna Ordinia and Pony Head were entering the Echo Creek high school looking as glum as someone at a funeral.
They entered the school where their teacher, the now human Miss Skullnick was awaiting them to begin the day. The human teacher did not look pleased to see any of them. But in actuality, she just didn't want to be dealing with students for Saturday detention.
"Welcome to Saturday detention." Miss Skullnick greeted the students. "I hope you enjoy it. Because I won't."
"Welcome to my world." Pony Head remarked.
The five students entered the school and walked right into the library where there were five chairs with desks ready for them to sit on for their detention.
Miss Skullnick soon entered the library, drinking a cup of coffee to try and keep herself up. "Once again, good morning students. The time is 7:00 AM and you're all here for Saturday detention. You are not to leave this library until 15:00 PM on the dot. Those five hours shall give you time to reflect on what you five did. And I'm gonna have to lay a few ground rules: You will not leave this room, all your electronics are to be handed in, no sleeping and no eating."
"This is unfair!" Pony Head exclaimed. "I haven't had breakfast!"
"Did you have a midnight snack?" Tom asked.
"Uh, who wouldn't?!" Pony Head responded.
"Then, that's technically kinda breakfast." Tom remarked.
"Also, no talking." Miss Skullnick said. "That's another rule."
"Are there any rules that don't involves don'ts?" Marco asked.
"You can study with either these books or on a piece of paper." Miss Skullnick replied. "Now, I don't want anymore questions because all I want to do now is go in the other room and read a book to entertain myself." Miss Skullnick sighed as she exited the library to do Miss Skullnick things. "Even in human form, I still can't find a date."
Once Miss Skullnick left, every single one of the teenagers groaned to let out their bored sighs.
Star had collapsed face first on the table, Marco had put on his shades to make it look like he was awake when in fact he wanted to sleep, Pony Head was making popping sounds with her mouth since she wasn't gonna learn anything whatsoever, Tom was writing a poem on his piece of paper while Janna pulled out a spare phone from her beanie.
"Did you bring some for us?" Marco asked.
"Nah." Janna replied.
"Wait, why we's talking?" Pony Head asked. "Shouldn't we not be talking? Wouldn't Miss Skullkick be in here to…..I don't know, scold us?"
"It's Miss Skullnick, she's probably listening currently not doing anything about it." Marco pointed out.
"Guys, can you be quiet?" Tom asked. "I'm trying to write poetry. And detention is giving me all the time in the world to do so."
"Ha! The prince of the Underworld writing poetry." Pony Head laughed. "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! That's hilarious, ya'll."
"What?" Tom reacted like he was offended. "It's a hobby."
"Yeah, a hobby for sad weirdos." Pony Head retorted. "Which you's are."
"Says the floating horse head that parties all the time." Tom retorted.
"Least it's not boring!"
"Guys, we have 7 hours and 57 minutes till the day is over." Marco pointed out. "Can we just be silent and wait this out?"
"I guess so." Tom said.
"It's not gonna last long." Janna remarked before shutting up.
And that's what everyone was doing, they decided to shut up and not talk or make any noise so they won't annoy Miss Skullnick.
Seven hours and forty-five minutes left until 15:00PM
Not even half an hour passed and already Pony Head was biting down on her lips so she wouldn't talk, Janna was playing on her phone, Tom had written about 3 sheets of poetry, Star was still lying face first on her desk and Marco was trying to sleep his way through the detention.
But not talking was kind of hard for Pony Head since talking non-stop was like her thing. Her lips were close to bleeding and she couldn't take being quiet anymore. It was then, Pony Head screamed. "I can't take being quiet anymore!"
Marco then shot up from his chair so hard that his sunglasses shot off his face, while Tom scribbled all over his poetry, Janna to be un phased and Star to turn her head slightly to the right.
"Uh! I can't take it!" Pony Head yelled in pain. "This is your fault Janna!"
"No, you three trying to stop my prank was your doing." Janna said.
"You tried to pour blood all over Brittany Wong!" Marco mentioned.
"No, it was corn syrup, non-dairy cream and food colouring." Janna explained.
"Still." Tom retorted while folding his arms. "You did ruin everyone's moment."
"Says the guy who ratted out on me and told Star and Marco." Janna retorted while typing on her phone.
"I was doing the right thing!" Tom protested.
"Guys, be quiet!" Marco chided. "We don't want Miss Skullnick to come here and mark us down for Sunday, right?"
"No!" Pony Head exclaimed. "Sunday's supposed to be the laziest days!"
"At least it will give me time on my poetry." Tom stated.
"What kind of poetry are you even writing?" Marco asked.
"Oh you know?" Tom responded. "Typical Underworld poetry. Torture, fire and all the demonic stuff."
"Can't wait to read it." Janna said. "Even though you are still in trouble." Tom frowned a bit since him and Janna were on thin ice ever since yesterday's incident.
Seven hours and nineteen minutes till 15:00PM.
More time had passed and every student in the weekend detention were still bored. Marco was blowing spit bubbles, Star was still laying face first on her desk, Pony Head was now making clicking noises like some kind of alien reptile, Janna had nothing since her phone had run out of charge and Tom was still indulged in writing his poetry.
"Amazing." Tom noted. "I've done 7 pieces already."
"Yeah that's great, you're boring!" Pony Head yelled out. "I missed the days when you were some hot head!"
"Hey guys….." Marco interjected. "…I know you guys are stressed about being here. So, why don't we talk to pass the time?"
"What happened to no talking?" Janna asked.
"Eh, this is Miss Skullnick she's probably sleeping." Marco replied.
But in actuality, Miss Skullnick was in the next room binge watching a cartoon called The Raven House. A show about a 14 year old girl whisked into a magical world by a criminal warlock in a world ruled by a malicious empress.
"Come on! Gooz!" Miss Skullnick cried. "Don't make your promise to your Dad! Ignore his tears of sadness! You have an awesome girlfriend and friends!" Miss Skullnick continued on crying. "It's a good thing these walls are soundproof! Those students don't need to know how emotional I can get!"
Back in the library, Pony Head was groaning. "Uh fine! Safety turd!"
"Thanks for using that." Janna responded.
"You're welcs!" Pony Head retorted. "That's my thang now! You're welcs."
"Let's discuss what it was like when Earthni was formed." Marco said. "I remember it like it was yesterday."
"Yeah! You and Star just stood in front of each other for like two years." Pony Head responded.
"It wasn't two years!" Marco retorted. "It was 6 hours before we burst into tears and hugged each other and kissed. So romantic. Right Star?"
But Star didn't respond, she still had her face on the desk. And had been for almost an hour.
"Is she sleeping?" Tom asked.
"I think she needs some personal space." Marco responded. "She's been going through…..a lot. But, I don't want to think about that for a moment."
"Yo B-Fly, don't you worry about yo-"
"Pony Head!" Marco interjected.
"What?! Can I not give her some assurance?!" Pony Head angrily asked.
"Just don't say anything." Marco gently requested. "Pony Head what was it like when Earthni was formed?"
"Quit changing the subject, Diaz." Janna interjected.
"Oh boy, don't I remember that day?" Pony Head asked. "Okay, so it was very strange how I was seeing these metal horses called cars moving their tube thingies all round Butterfly palace. Then one of them lost control and made Butterfly palace collapse about two hours. But then, I decided to explore this strange planet and went out clubbing!"
"Okay, typi-"
"And then there were those riots by confused and scared Earth turds." Pony Head interjected. "And then that ended and my old man said I had to go to school! And I was like, 'Old man! My siblings ain't going to school so why should I?!'
"Very-"
"And now, I'm stuck in some place I don't want be and getting detention everyday!" Pony Head continued to rant. "And that's because I skip class! If you don't want me skipping then don't bore me!"
Seven Hours till 15:00PM.
Pony Head had continued to go on for nearly 20 minutes, which caused Marco to fall asleep, Janna to steal Tom's portable charger to charge her phone, Tom was still busy writing poetry and Star still had her face glued to her desk ever since the detention started.
"And now I'm stuck in detention with you losers thanks to miss I-Love-Pranks-So-Much."
"That's me." Janna interjected, not caring what Pony Head was saying.
"Oh of course you'd say something like that!" Pony Head exclaimed. "All chill and all uncaring!"
"Says you." Tom retorted. "Janna cares better than you do."
"Oh you's only saying that because you wants her to forgive ya!"
Tom had no response to that and just continued to write his poetry to try and get Janna to like him again.
"Oh no response huh?!" Pony Head laughed. "Old stupid flame boy! Don't even have anything to say! Yeah, as if poetry will do anything!"
"Pony Head, just shut up." Marco groaned as he woke up from his peaceful nap.
"Oh, you were the one who suggested that I'd talk about the day Earthni was formed and looks where that gots us!" Pony Head retorted. "Besides, I would not be having this convo if someone didn't pour fake blood all over Brittany Wong and I got framed for it!"
"You don't even care about Brittany Wong." Janna said. "If I recall you didn't try and stop her."
"I wanted to get a selfie with her!" Pony Head retorted. "Until you poured the fake blood all over my hair which got the accusations going!"
"Ha ha." Janna laughed. "I got a double victim. Worth it!"
"Not worth it Janna!" Marco exclaimed.
"It was." Janna argued. "You gave new meaning to blood on your hands."
"Why aren't you bothered by this?" Marco asked. "Our time is being wasted in detention and you're cool about it?!"
"Diaz, why are you acting like this is my first time here?" Janna retorted.
Janna's response made Marco stare at her with an unsurprised expression. "Of course."
"And besides, we're only here because I got caught." Janna retorted. "If it wasn't for Mr Lucitor over here."
"I only did it because you were taking the prank too far." Tom said.
"You helped me out on those pranks." Janna retorted.
"Most of them were harmless but this…How do we know Brittany wasn't allergic to the stuff we were using?!"
"Since when did you care about her?" Janna asked. "Need I remind you she made fun of your horns, tail and third eye?"
"Wait a minute, that's a good question, why did you try and stop Janna pulling that prank on Brittany Wong if she was making fun of you?" Marco asked.
The question made Janna stop playing on her phone and narrowed her eyes at her boyfriend. "Yeah, why did you try and stop my prank if you hate Brittany Wong so much?" Janna asked.
Tom shifted his eyes from Janna to his poetry. "I don't know! I don't know why!"
"Do you….like her?" Janna asked like she was getting angry.
"Oh no, we gots some drama going on!" Pony Head exclaimed. "Shame I don't have my phone so I can shame Tom!"
"I swear I do not like her!" Tom argued. "I absolutely despise her!"
"But why were you trying to save her?!" Marco asked angrily.
"I don't want to talk about it." Tom replied.
"Wow! Neat trick, Losertor!" Pony Head retorted.
"But I do not love Brittany." Tom said. "Besides, why would I cheat on my own significant other. I'm not like Star."
Instead of Star getting angry about it, Marco was the one who did and he glared at Tom. "What do you mean?"
"Oh, that photo booth kiss!" Tom replied. "I mean, that technically counts as cheating."
"I thought you have forgiven her about that."
"I have, doesn't mean I'll forget it." Tom responded.
"What's going on between you and Janna is none of her concern!" Marco exclaimed as he got off his chair and slowly approached Tom.
"Yo, what happened to staying in our seats?" Pony Head asked.
"I mean, why does she have to be a part of both of your messes?!" Marco angrily asked. "I mean, sure we did try and stop the prank, but you were the one that told us about it!"
"You didn't have to come." Tom replied.
"Oh, but we did!" Marco responded while pointing at himself. "Because we knew better than to let a prank happen to someone we don't like! And don't you dare bring Star into your problems again!"
"Why doesn't she get a say in this?" Tom asked. "Maybe she might agree with me."
"No Tom, it was unnecessary to bring her in to your problem!" Marco argued. "I mean, do you do this all the time?!"
"No!" Tom replied.
"He doesn't." Janna confirmed.
"Well, why now?!"
"I'm just stressed at the moment." Tom replied.
"Because of being in detention?" Marco asked.
"No, it's just something I don't wish to talk about."
"Because….."
"I said I don't want to talk about it!" Tom's eyes then turned red and fire shot out from underneath him, but it didn't burn the ceiling down.
Marco wasn't scared by Tom's outburst, he instead just stared at him with his serious expression. "Alright, fine." Marco then went to sit back down.
Tom then went to sit back down, still feeling agitated about what had happened while Janna just narrowed her eyes at her boyfriend, showing some annoyance about him hiding something.
Five hours till 15:00PM.
It had been two hours ever since Tom's outburst and apart from the occasional shuffle, cough or sneeze, everyone had been very, very quiet.
Pony Head was busy trying to think of an excuse to get off her seat, Janna was narrowing her eyes at Tom, Star still was lying face first in the table, Marco was blowing spit bubbles and Tom had just torn his next batch of poetry for Janna.
But once again, Pony Head had to groan in annoyance over the uncomfortable silence. "This is horse barf! This is boring and horse barf combined! Hey Janna, continue interrogating Tom about his obvi crush on Brittany Wong!"
"I do not have a crush on Brittany Wong!" Tom argued. "Why would I have a crush on someone so awful and so….so….obnoxious?!"
"Someone who would try and save her." Janna responded. "Why did you try and save her?"
"It's….too pathetic." Tom replied.
"Ha Ha Ha Ha!" Pony Head laughed. "The most pathetic demon says his response is pathetic! That is so funny!"
"Tom, you ruined a prank that was for one of the most disliked students in the entire school and you just went out of your way to stop my payback against her." Janna responded. "Why did you stop it? Why did you feel the need to tell Star about it?"
"She told me to not let bad stuff happen to her to keep her popularity!" Tom exclaimed.
"Why?" Marco asked. "Are you her slave?"
"I…..think so." Tom replied.
"Well it does explain why Ferguson's 'Brittany sucks' sign went up in flames." Marco said. "And the janitor said there was a fuse in the electrical box!"
"Tom, why are you defending Brittany?" Janna asked calmly. "Is it to try and get her to stop making fun of you?"
Tom looked away from his girlfriend for a moment and sighed. "Because I just want her to stop making fun of me. I mean, why is it me that she's making fun of? Pony Head, the head of a pony doesn't get made fun of even though she'd be an easy insult! No offence."
"I don't care since I'm glamorous!" Pony Head replied.
"One day, I basically had enough of Brittany and asked that she'd stop." Tom continued.
"Ask or demanded?" Marco asked.
"Asked. Since that was the right thing to do." Tom replied. "She said she'll stop if I did everything to stop her from being mocked and humiliated."
"Why do you care what she thinks?" Janna asked. "I told you to stop worrying what people have to say. Besides, how bad were the insults?"
"She kept saying that I'm a royal pain and kept threatening to throw water on me." Tom replied.
"Royal pain?!" Janna laughed. "That's it?! That's such….a Brittany insult."
"Well, why did you decide to pull that stunt on Brittany if her words don't matter?" Tom asked.
"Could it be that I've just had enough of Brittany being Brittany?" Janna asked.
"But you're too Janna to care what Brittany thinks." Marco pointed out.
"I know….But….I…I…I…I…I…I…I…I…" It was at this moment, Tom began to realise that there was something wrong with his girlfriend. She seemed to be less confident with herself and less chilled. Sure, she just hit a few golf balls and calm down, but Janna didn't have any and she was around people.
It was at this moment, Tom got off his seat, approached Janna and gently took her hand in his.
"Janna, what did Brittany say to you?" Tom asked.
Janna looked over Tom and noticed Marco and Pony Head were looking behind them, just to know what was going on with poor Janna.
"Well, I usually don't care what Brittany says, but what she said about our relationship kind of made me realise it was the last straw." Janna explained, trying her best to hold back tears. "She said that our relationship was never going to work out."
"Why?" Tom asked. "And why would you believe her?"
"Because she said that you're a demon, which means you're immortal and that means I'm human." Janna was close to tears, something that made Marco feel sorry for the weird girl, while Pony Head couldn't care less. "Which means, I'll get old and you'll stay young. It's just heartbreaking to think of. I mean, I don't know if we'll get married or stay together but I'd hate for you to watch me get wrinkly and then die while you stay like that. I know I don't usually open up about my feelings but-"
"It's healthy." Tom's interjection made Janna stare at her boyfriend with a surprised expression. "I know you don't like what you're feeling, but people will say that confessing what you're worried about is very healthy. I don't know if I'll stay this way I mean, it did take me 16 years to go from the baby who got his head stuck in a pot all the time to the awesome boyfriend you see in front of you. I don't know if I am truly immortal since I am part Mewman and part demon. Listen Janna, don't listen to what Brittany is saying cause she is wrong. I think, if we're still together in the future, are gonna last quite a while."
Janna smiled at her boyfriend. "I hope we do." Janna then decided to kiss Tom on the lips which the demon prince returned.
Marco smiled at the sight of the two couples finally making up after the Brittany Wong incident.
"Uh, thank goodness that's over!" Pony Head exclaimed. "If I had to hear yous arguing than Is was gonna fly myself out the window! Don't care it's detention."
Janna and Tom soon disconnected their lips from each other and stared into each other's eyes lovingly.
"And if any of you tell anyone I cried then you're gonna be in trouble." Janna said to everyone in the library.
Three hours and 6 minutes till 15:00PM
Tom and Janna who had recently fixed their relationship, weren't sitting in their separate seats, they were sitting close to each other having just fixed their relationship. The two were cuddling each other while Marco was busy wearing his shades while messing around with a pen, Pony Head was busy making clicking noises while Star was still laying on her face.
"Uh! I'm so bored!" Pony Head soon exclaimed in annoyance. "Somebody better give me something to do! Cause I don't deserve this!"
"Well, you did kind of get in the way of the fake blood." Janna pointed out.
"Yeah, that was on you." Tom agreed.
"Come on you's just saying that cause she's your girlfriend!" Pony Head argued.
"Ask Marco." Tom suggested.
"Okay, how's about yous Marco?" Pony Head asked. "Do ya think Tom's saying that just because he wants his girlfriend to like him?!"
"No Pony Head, I do kind of agree." Marco pointed out. "You getting in the way of the fake blood was your fault. What were you even trying to do?"
"What was it look like?!" Pony Head asked as if she was insulted. "I was trying to upstage that brat!"
"Eh, that doesn't surprise me." Janna said.
"Yeah, I was trying to upstage her because me and her are having this upstaging competition!" Pony Head explained. "You see, it began on my first day of school! I was busy taking selfie's as one would usually do, but when I was trying to get a good shot, that upstaging witch walked right in front of me! Then when she was busy getting a shot of herself posing behind the statue of Moon and then I upstaged her. And ever since, we've been trying to upstage each other. Like who looks better in makeup, who can take the most selfies, who had the prettiest hair, who had the best birthday party…."
"That explains why you had fireworks go off for 9 hours straight." Tom said. "And the white chocolate fountain and the regular chocolate fountain and how you managed to get Love Sentence and why it was set at the Taj Mahal. Wow, the Indian government must have been very cool with that."
"As I was saying." Pony Head coughed. "We were also seeing who was smarter, who had the hottest boyfriend, who had the ugliest boyfriend. I mean, I had to pay some dummy to be my boyfriend."
"No wonder Alfonzo looked so uncomfortable with you." Janna remarked.
"As I was saying, we were also debating who looked more fashionable, who gave out the best kisses, who had the best house and who wore the shortest shirts!"
"How can you wear a shirt?" Marco asked. "You're a head! How can you wear a shirt?!"
"I made it work!" Pony Head exclaimed. "But unfortunately, Brittany's was shorter."
"So, what were you doing on stage?" Marco asked.
"Well, since I was trying to upstage Brittany, I decided to try and bomb her selfie without her knowing!" Pony Head replied. "I took ninja lessons from that one assassin that wanted to get Star."
"Wait, who were you getting trained by?" Marco asked.
"Anyway, I was about to get my selfie when all of a sudden, fake blood landed on me and I gots the blame for it!" Responded. "So, thanks a lot Janna!"
"Eh, your fault for getting in the way." Janna retorted.
Marco then pulled up his sleeve to look at his watch. "Aaaaaaaaaand it's lunch time."
"Shame we can't have lunch." Pony Head said. "I mean, how am I supposed to keep to right weight if I don't eat?"
"We could always try eating books." Tom's suggestion made Janna nudge him in his sides. "What? I was being sarcastic. Or maybe I'm not. I mean, we have no food."
"Who said we didn't?" Janna then got off her chair, walked towards a bookcase, pulled a giant pole from underneath the case and opened the window. And crawling through the window, was none other than Meteora whom was carrying five bags from Britta's Tacos.
"Janna!" Meteora happily exclaimed before jumping down from the ceiling and landing in Janna's hands.
"And how is my favourite client?" Janna asked.
"What is that?" Marco asked while pointing at Janna holding Meteora.
"Don't call her a that, Diaz." Janna retorted. "Meteora went through so much trouble to get us lunch."
"So, you trained Meteora to get us lunch from Britta's Tacos?" Marco asked.
"No, I just trained her to sneak it in." Janna replied. "Ferguson got us lunch."
"I still get payed right?!" Ferguson asked from outside the school.
"You will!" Janna replied before shifting her attention to Meteora. "Now Meteora, go back home before your Mom gets suspicious about your whereabouts. Also…." Janna then reached through her hat and pulled 12 dollars out. "…give this to Ferguson on the way out."
Meteora nodded her head and put the money in her mouth before Janna set her down on the floor for her to climb back out the window.
"And can I ask Janna, how did you know what we wanted from Britta's Tacos?" Marco asked.
"Because I kept track on what all of you ordered in case of the situation where we were trapped in detention for hours with no lunch." Janna replied.
"You have a situation for about everything don't you?" Marco asked.
"You won't believe what she has in store just in case Gooze and Calamity break up in the remaining episodes of The Raven House." Tom said.
"Tom…" Janna chided her boyfriend. "So, who's hungry?"
Two hours and fifty-one minutes till 15:00.
Janna, Tom, Marco and Pony Head were sitting in a circle eating their tacos. Janna, Tom and Pony Head were having regular, while Marco was having a taco with about three dollops of hot sauce on. And in the centre of them, was a bowl of nachos from Britta's Tacos.
While Star's was placed beside her in case she was hungry, since she still was lying face first on the table, not having acknowledged anyone for the duration of the detention.
The teens were laughing at whatever Janna had joked about before, just having a fun time really.
"I mean, The Raven House?" Marco queried. "Isn't that a kids show?"
"It has to do with witchcraft and the occult, why would I not be interested?" Janna asked. "And I am very attached to Gooze and Calamity. If anything happens to those two adorable little angels than Diana Terrence better start running."
Marco and Pony Head laughed thinking that Janna was being sarcastic, while Tom and Janna were looking quite serious.
"Dude, who said I was joking?" Janna asked. "Diana lives right next door to Tom's vacation home."
"Wait, what is she doing in the Underworld?" Marco asked.
"She has a thing for demons and the occult as well." Janna replied. "That and Mrs Lucitor is a fan of the Raven House as well and really wanted to be her neighbour."
"Oh….well, that's surprising." Marco commented.
"Not really with all the magic that's in the show." Janna said.
"Alright ya'll, I have two questions." Pony Head soon interjected. "One: What did Tom exactly write? I mean, it has to be terrible if he was trying to win Janna back."
"Oh I've read them." Janna said. "And they're not bad and they're engraved in my mind."
"May we hear one?" Marco asked.
"Which one?" Tom asked as he showed his pile of poetry. "Well, I call this one burning away." Just then, Tom set all his poetry on fire leading it to crumble away. "And I meant that literally."
"What?!" Marco exclaimed.
"Aww come on!" Pony Head.
Janna just smiled as she ate her taco. "Oh yeah, I thought it'd be funnier if I was the only one who saw it and no one else."
"You sneaky little-"
"Hey!" Pony Head interjected. "Just because you're sad that Tom ain't gonna be reading his embarrassing poetry, don't mean you ain't gonna get away with being questioned! Why were you and Star trying to stop Janna from pulling that prank on Brittany Wong?! Was Brittany saying horrible things about you?!"
"If I recall, she said a lot of horrible things about you." Janna said. "Why would you and Star stop her?"
Marco then looked away from them while taking a bite of a nacho. "Me and Star weren't trying to stop Janna, I was the only one."
"Oh wow, boyfriend of the year." Tom remarked sarcastically while applauding slowly. "Taking all the credit."
"I wasn't exactly taking the credit." Marco retorted. "I wasn't just trying to stop Janna, I was trying to stop Star from encouraging her."
This piece of information caused everyone, including Janna to be surprised. "Star, encouraging me? Hey girl, why would you wish to stop me?"
But Star only responded with a tired groan as she turned her head slightly to the right. The sight of Star being down made Pony Head fly towards her bestie and start poking her with horn.
"Yo! B-Fly!" Pony Head yelled as she poked her best friend with her horn. "Yo! Wakey! Wakey! Your taco's gonna gets cold!"
"Pony Head, leave her alone!" Marco requested.
"Not until she says so!" Pony Head replied.
"And I do say so!" Star yelled as she suddenly shot up. "Okay Pony Head?! Could you for once start thinking about other people than yourself?! I mean, jeez!" Star then laid face first on the table yet again where she started sniffling.
Pony Head just stuck her tongue out before flying back towards her group with a confused expression. "Yo Earthni Turd, wassup with yo girl?"
Marco sighed. "It's her mom. Ever since she handed herself in to stop those attacks from Heckaron and his group, she hasn't been the same since. I mean, things changed ever since Moon just handed herself in. The pie shop is now being run by Ludo, Mom has been trying to be positive, Dad's encouragement to help Mariposa walk is gone, River is no longer enjoying karaoke Fridays and Star has been depressed and is refusing to talk to me. Even if when try, she snaps at me. It's hard trying to be a good boyfriend when your girlfriend refuses to open up about her problems."
"She just needs time before opening it up." Tom said. "She'll eventually open up."
"And that's what I decided to do." Marco said. "I decided to wait until she opens up without mentioning anything about her mom. But Brittany just couldn't keep her mouth shut. She said these words, 'At least my Mom is still here and is giving me all the love by giving me a driving lesson.' That was the tipping point for Star. That a few hours later, you showed up telling us what your girlfriend was doing."
"Something that's just water under the bridge." Janna remarked.
"I then said to Star that we should stop her, but she wanted to encourage you." Marco explained. "It was then, the chase began. I was running to stop you while Star was running to help you. I mean, I get Brittany has said horrible things to us but if we do something horrible to her, wouldn't that make us as bad as her? Or worse?"
Tom and Pony Head were kind of deep in thought about it, while Janna just shrugged her shoulders.
"Well, what harm can a harmless prank to her do anyway?" Janna asked.
"She could have allergies to one of the ingredients." Marco replied.
Janna then showed the safe kid a piece of written paper. "Got her medical records and no she hasn't."
"How did you-"
"Diaz, it's pointless to ask." Tom replied with a blank face.
Marco then looked at Star, whom was still sobbing her eyes out while laying face first on the table.
"Will she open up?" Tom asked.
"I hope so." Marco replied.
"And how long will it take?!" Pony Head asked.
"It might take all detention." Marco replied. "But I don't think it'll be anywhere near the end."
Ten minutes till 15:00PM.
For nearly three hours, Star still hadn't opened up about what was going on with her all while her fellow friends and boyfriend were trying to pass the time doing something different.
Marco was busy making punching and kicking motions, Pony Head was blasting music while dancing, Tom was busy snuggling Janna while his awesome girlfriend was writing something on a piece of paper. And what was Miss Skullnick doing through the soundproof doors?
The teacher was busy on Chirper, complaining about whatever. "I am sick and tired of waiting. It has been 101 days since season 2A of The Raven House concluded. When are we going to get the remaining 11 episodes?! Answer me, Diana! Answer me!"
Back in the library, Janna had just about finished writing on the paper. She carried it to the front and placed it on the table. "She might love it." Janna said.
"Are you sure Miss Skullnick will approve of the message?" Tom asked his girlfriend.
"I explained in great detail." Janna retorted. "We have nine minutes till this detention ends. What do you wish to do?"
Tom smiled. "Do you want to go behind one of the book shelves? And…."
"Don't suggest what I think your suggesting." Janna interjected.
"I wasn't about to suggest kiss." Tom replied. "How about we glue some of the maths books?"
"What makes you think I have glue on me?" Janna asked. "I honestly don't."
"Finally, a day that I come prepared." Tom then pulled out a tub of glue from his pocket, something that caught his girlfriend off guard.
"Did you have that in your pocket on the off chance I might want to glue some math books shut?" Janna asked before smirking. "I have taught you well."
"So, does that make me an awesome boyfriend?" Tom queried rather smugly.
"In your dreams."
While Janna and Tom went off together to glue some books shut, Pony Head was still bopping her head to whatever song was playing on her phone while Marco decided he had enough of practicing and decided to sit next to Star, whom was still lying face first on the table.
"Hey, you okay?" Marco asked his girlfriend gently. "You haven't spoken much about what happened."
Star then sat up and wiped away the tears that were falling from her eyes and stared at her boyfriend.
"Sorry, just trying to process everything." Star replied.
"Star, don't apologise for being scared for your Mom." Marco replied. "You have every right to. Besides, maybe your mom might do okay."
"But what if she doesn't?!" Star asked. "What if she struggles in prison? I mean, she isn't powerful and she doesn't have magic. What if she gets killed in there? I saw those prison documentaries and they terrified me beyond belief. What if she ends up with a bad gang? What if she starts riots? But it's not just mom I'm worried about as well, I'm worried that those activists might attack again and hurt someone else. What if they blow up the prison my Mom is in? What if they hurt Tom?! Or Janna?! Or Pony Head?! Or…you? Marco, I'm not just worried about Mom, I'm worried about everyone close to me!"
"Is this why you've been quiet all day?" Marco asked. "Oh Star, thanks for telling me, do you feel a little bit better?"
But Star was still a bit scared and worried about what the future will hold and grabbed Marco by wrapping her arms around his back, something that caught him by surprise. The karate loving teen eventually did return it feeling he needed to comfort Star in what was a stressful time for her. He kissed her head and rubbed her back in a gentle motion. And that's what them two just did, hugged it out until the detention was over.
Later that same day, Miss Skullnick was still busy complaining on Chirper via her phone. "And that's why, Raven House creator Diana Terrence, I think you need to be clear on when The Raven House will come back. And another thing, why did you give out the names of the first three episodes of season 2B if you aren't going to reveal the rest?! Are you just trolling us?! Please respond at some point or else I will set my demon student on you and I am not joking! He is prince of the Underworld. The Mewman Underworld!" Miss Skullnick then sighed and stretched her arms. "That was a good rant." She then looked up and realised what the time was. It was 16:00PM.
"OH NO! I LEFT THE KIDS IN THE LIBRARY!" Miss Skullnick screamed.
The human teacher jumped out of her seat and ran to the library to see the kids. But once she got there, she realised they weren't there anymore. It appears they have left on their own accord.
The empty room made Miss Skullnick sigh with relief. "Phew, I thought I was going to have to deal with deranged students."
She walked towards the desk and noticed a piece of paper resting on it. She picked it up and started to read it.
"You probably weren't listening to us Miss Skullnick since you were definitely watching The Raven House for the 16 millionth time. You think you can put us in detention to learn our lesson? I'll be honest, I haven't learnt anything from what put me in there in the first place, no. But I have learnt a few things. I learnt how to be more open with my boyfriend and my boyfriend learnt to never write poetry again. But it also gave Star time to give time to confess what is going on with her. I didn't get much of it but it was great she confessed to her boyfriend. And Pony Head? Well, it's Pony Head she never learns her lesson. So anyway Miss Skullnick, I haven't learnt my lesson and I am going to prank Brittany Wong tonight with my friends coming with me so we can teach her not to mess with Star. Try all you want, but I'll never stop. Love, Janna. PS, good luck getting an answer out of Diana."
Miss Skullnick just sighed as a response. "Oh well, Brittany has it coming. So, I'll allow it." Miss Skullnick then sat down on a chair and noticed a bowl of nachos on their own. She just shrugged her shoulders before taking a bite out of one of them.
