Welcome to my latest story! This is my second story based on the Shang-Chi film so as you can tell it left me very inspired ;)

Here is a Full Summary:

Still grieving the loss of her family and struggling to fit in at her new job at the museum, Dr. Freya Dezzeray throws herself into her work. She has an eventful first week on the job when a mysterious artifact sends her back in time and right into the clutches of a powerful, god-like warlord... (WenwuXOC)

Having lived for 1000+ years, I have a feeling Wenwu fell in love more than once...

His relationship with Ying Li was so beautiful, and he clearly loves so deeply! So here's a love story for our wielder and leader of the mighty Ten Rings!

This story is separate from my other story based on the Shang-Chi film.

I do not own anything from the film or comics, only my own additions to the story.

Thanks and enjoy! :)

Museum of Great Britain

"And now, without further ado, I would like you to meet our newest curator: Dr. Freya Dezzeray." Margaret introduced.

There was clapping, none all that enthusiastic, but she still stepped forward with a little wave and big smile. She shook Margaret's hand before addressing the crowd herself. "Thank you Margaret for the lovely introduction! Now I love this place! It's always been one of my favourites - I remember my parents bringing me here when I was young and just being enchanted, I still am-" She was losing them, the whole audience. Their attentions were rapidly fading. Only Margaret was giving her a smile. She'd better make this quick. She cleared her throat before continuing. "Bottom line is, I'm so happy to be apart of the team, so thank you for this great honour!"

Margaret started clapping, which prompted some other people to do so as well.

"We're so happy to have you, Dear," Marg told her after the meeting had disbanded.

"Oh, thank you..." Although it seemed so far that only Marg herself shared that sentiment. "I'm so happy to be here - as you know."

"Yes indeed! Now let's get you settled into your new office-" Marg led the way, Fray following the whole time with a skip in her step. She was practically beaming!

"Oh, I love it!" she cried as soon as the door opened.

"I thought you would! Now, you get yourself settled, take all the time you need." And she knew, she just knew, that Margaret wasn't only referring to the getting settled part. She just knew.

Take all the time you need...

That's what people had been saying constantly for the past five years, ever since her parents had disappeared, vanished in the Blip. Most people who had been dusted had returned following the Avengers' efforts and sacrifices, but not everyone. The Drs. Dezzeray had been among them.

They were still considered missing persons, having vanished without a trace, leaving their daughter, their only child, behind.

She was now taking their place as apart of the Museum of Great Britain community, which had always been a dream of hers. However, that dream had always been that she would join them and that they would all work there together as a family, not her taking their place.

Margaret patted her arm gently, sending her plunging back to reality. "See you later, Love. I'll be in my office if you need anything, anything at all."

Another thing people had constantly been saying these past few years, 'If you need anything at all..."

"Thanks, Marg. For everything."

As soon as Marg left, the rhythmic clicking of her heels resounding further and further down the hall, Freya collapsed into her new desk chair, which swiveled as she sat down, and heaved a heavy sigh.

This was exhausting, trying to be okay in front of everyone, when deep down she was aching.

Margaret had been a dear throughout all this, supporting Freya in any way she could. But sometimes, she just wanted to be alone by herself, and that was what she wanted in this particular moment.

Everyone else had been friendly enough so far, it was all just very forced. She knew why: they thought the museum board were playing favourites and bringing her in just because her parents were highly esteemed employees. And this was only the beginning.

She could only hope her relations with her now colleagues would improve over time, but everyone had seemed to have already made up their mind about her.

I just need to prove myself to them. I'm brand new, no one's seen me thrive at this - yet! I'll show them that I'm worthy of this position, she kept telling herself.

This thought had sort of helped - sort of. It had been more of a pump-up session before coming to work, but now that she was actually here, surrounded by all this doubt, she struggled to believe it.

She took a deep breath and tried her best to reconstruct those thoughts: This is your dream job - just do your thing and you'll be great!

She glanced at her watch - she'd better get herself settled so she could update Margaret on her progress so far, and she had a lot of emails to go through. She also wanted to rearrange and organize her office to fit her tastes.

Time to get to work - this was her dream job after all.

I imagine this to be the same museum that Killmonger goes to in Black Panther!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed! :)
