That night, Marinette listened to the pitter patter of the rain that fell from the sky and the cackle of the lighting. She was working on sewing a Chat Noir themed blouse. She listened to the rain but heard a new noise when she went to find more thread.

Tap tap tap

She smiled as she knew the familiar rhythm that went along with someone knocking on the trap door. She climbed up on her bed to open it and saw a shivering Chat Noir staring at her. "Oh my kitty. You look cold. Come in." She moved out of the way so Chat could come in. He was soaking wet and shivering. "Sit on the couch. I'll get you a blanket and hot cocoa." She lead Chat to the pretty couch and got a blanket and some cocoa for him. She rolled her chair over to him as he slowly took a sip. Chat relaxed as he let the warmth of the cocoa. "Why were you outside?"

"I wanted to see you so I thought that I should go on a quick patrol and come straight here to surprise you. I didn't know it was going to rain." Chat explained. Marinette got up and sat next to chat. She reached her left hand to touch his left bicep and placed her right hand her his right bicep and rubbed her hands up and down as an attempt to warm him. She laid her head on his shoulder.

"Oh kitty. I love the thought but, check the weather next time."

"I will." There was a pause for a few seconds when Chat said something. "I love you Princess."

After Chat a few minutes, chat finished his cocoa and had the blanket hanging from his shoulders as he held the sides and pulled them closer together. He got up and came up behind Mari who was seeing something. It was mint green.

"What are you making?" Chat asked. Mari jumped a little, startled by the voice behind her.

"It's a surprise." She said. Chat's eyes widened in curiosity.

"What kind of a surprise?"

"If I tell you then it wouldn't be a surprise. You'll find out tomorrow." Chat frowned as he wanted to know what his princess was making.

"That's like, a million years from now." chat complained.

"It's not a millions years. If anything it's only..." Marinette looked at her phone and her face fell as she looked at the time. "9 HOURS!" The time was 23:30.

"I need to go to bed. I need to be awake tomorrow to sew the zipper. It's the hardest part of the whole piece." Marinette packed everything up as Chat just watched her scramble to get ready for tomorrow.

"Calm down princess. I'm sure it'll be perfect. Just like you." Mari paused as she heard her boyfriend's kind words. She smiled and walked over to him.

"I'm sure your right." Marinette kissed chat on the cheek as she went to put some fabric away. "I just want to stay awake for it because I have the tendency to fall asleep while working on something." She looked back at Chat as she closed the trunk that contained a lot of fabric.

"Anyway, I should go now." Chat went to leave but stopped as Mari called to him.

"Wait!" Chat looked at her. "You could just sleep on the couch for the night. It looks like the rain isn't going to stop anytime soon." Chat smiled and walked over toward Mari.

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely. I can't have you go home in that weather. Hold on, I'll get some more blankets." Marinette walked away to get more blankets.

"She's so perfect.". Chat said to himself.

Marinette came back and set up a makeshift bed. She was on the dark with all the lights out. I loud bang a thunder echoed in Mari's big room as the lighting lit up. Marinette heard a whimper coming from somewhere in the room. She sat up with a questioning look on her face. "Chat?"

"Yes Princess." He said. He sounded kind of frightened.

"Are you scared of thunder and lightning?"

"Sometimes." In a very timid voice.

Marinette did a big sigh. She turned to Tikki how was looking at her with her big blue eyes. She wasn't totally on bored with the fact that Chat was staying there. Tiki did a quiet sigh and went to hide behind something on Mari's shelf. "Do you want to sleep in my bed with me?"

"yes." Marinette put her lamp on as she saw Chat with his face half hidden by the blankets. Marinette giggled. "come up." Mari moved to the left and heard chat come up the latter. She put a hand out to stop him. "only sleeping."

Chat pretended to think. "how about sleeping and snuggling?"

Marinette nodded as chat crawled into put an arm around him to make him feel safe and secure while the bang of the thunder and cackle of the lighting continued.

"I love you Princess." Marinette pulled him a little closer.

"I love you too kitty."

A/N: for a Marichat shipper like myself, I was so happy writing this. I kind of wanted to end it at the first "I love you" but I could never forgive myself.
