For Citadel of Words. Modern AU. Exactly what it sounds like, so of course it is chaotic.

For Citadel of Words. Heather...grew up bullied. So did Picket, for that matter. In other words, Bray is back to make life misery. I feel like for pretty much all my Citadel of Words content I take it to the exact opposite of whatever the prompt intended. But if you want to see Bray get put in his place (again) then here you go.

Not a lot of kids grow up knowing exactly who and what they are going to be. Smalls, however, isn't a lot of kids. Protected and raised by a man many consider a traitor, Wilfred, Smalls is used to danger. When a wolf raid in Nick Hollow leaves Wilfred's niece and nephew practical orphans, however, Smalls' life changes drastically. And he can't decide if that's a good thing.

I was twelve when everything changed. It was the hottest summer I can remember, and one of the worst. [TW For child abuse (It's a major part of the story, but nothing graphic. Most of it is not dramatized anyways, only talked about by the characters) and Alcholism. Also trauma. But I think that's a given. TW CHAPTER 4, PANIC ATTACK]

What if Morbin Blackhawk had a secret. A secret in the form of a child. A secret that died with Garten Longtreader, the only other person in Natalia who knew. And what if Maggie Joveson, newly chosen bearer of The Green Ember, is destined to fight a war with this child? Rated T for wars, violence, and death. Not more violent than any of the books were.
