Crow has loved the Splatoon franchise since release, using it as a way to divert their attention from their obligations. When those obligations grow to be too much for them and money becomes short, though, they resort to odd forms of money-making that unintentionally cause the word "escapism" to gain new meaning.

Meggy and her family are about to go swimming at the Mahi-Mahi Resort, however, a problem comes up; Inktoling Meggy can't swim. Luckily, Meggy and her parents decide to help the young Inktoling with that problem so she can swim and have fun.

Ten thousand years is a long time to take a nap. Amelia, a fourteen-year-old human girl, has lived in Inkopolis for four years since she left her cryopod. Her brother, having promised to be beside her when she woke up, is missing. Her parents are long gone, and all she has are her caretaker and her new friends to help her rise to the top as a turfer and find him.

The Hologram Array is a device capable of suspending the human brain in a non-decaying state, and its most important feature is the ability to relay a hologram of a human with the personality and memories inside the suspended brain.
