Chapter 6: Armour Zone / Amazon. (part 1)
Heliopolis, September 1st 0089 N.W.C.
In the hangar of Super Robot Force's temporary base, Naruto sits down languidly while looking at what remains of the large mobile suit NZ-666 Kshatriya, the mobile suit of his beloved wife Marida Cruz who just died the day before.
"Naruto-Kun...," Then he hears someone call his name, he turns his head slowly.
"..Oh, Marimo-Chan..."
Standing behind him is a young adult woman with long brown-wavy hair tied in a low ponytail. She wears a military uniform of Orb Defense Force. Her name is Marimo Jinguuji, one of Naruto's closest friends since the One-Year War.
"The breakfast is ready, Naruto-Kun,"
"...I will be there later, just..., give me another minute..."
After several minutes of silence, Marimo suddenly hugs Naruto from behind.
"...Marimo-Chan-"
"Stay still, Naruto-Kun!"
"Marimo-chan, I-"
"Ssshh, just let me do this okay?" Marimo said as she tighten the hug and pat Naruto's hair.
Naruto can't contain his emotion anymore. He cried as loud as he could, as much as he could.
After several minutes, Naruto finally calms down.
"Naruto-Kun, are you alright? If not, you should lie down for a bit."
"It's okay, I'm fine now," Naruto answers. "It's just a little bit embarrassing. Me who's older than you crying like a little child."
"Everybody needs to let it out sometimes, it's not healthy to always keep your emotion inside without ever letting it out," Marimo said.
"Yeah, well, thanks Marimo-Chan," Naruto stands up, followed by Marimo.
"Are you good?"
"Yeah, it's just..., I want to look at Kshatriya for the last time."
"Then, I will wait silently behind you," Marimo said with a small smile.
"Thanks," Then Naruto looked at the Kshatriya remains once again, "Marida-Chan..., you're one of the best of many best friends I've ever had, and more importantly you were a person who always guided me and assisted me. I know sometimes I make you worry, angry, or cry for my reckless behavior."
Naruto fell silent for a moment. Then he kisses Kshatriya's broken head part.
"Thank you Marida, for everything. I will miss you,"
*CRUNCH!*
"?"
"What's that sound?"
"Marimo-Chan?" Naruto turns his sight.
Naruto widened his eyes in great shock.
"No..., no...,"
Naruto sees Marimo's horribly deformed, half-eaten face staring right back at him.
*CRUNCH!*
A few seconds later another horrible CRUNCH rings out and Naruto realizes that he comes face to face with a Soldier-class INVADER, one of the specimens that had escaped from Orb's special laboratory in Heliopolis.
The soldier-class INVADER continues to bite Marimo's head. Pieces of Marimo's flesh are spattered on Naruto's face.
"...No... No way..., Marimo..., No..., AAAHHHHH!"
"GASP!"
Naruto suddenly woke up from his sleep on the couch. His body is full of sweat even though his room has an air conditioner.
"You have that dream again, huh?"
Naruto only answers with a silent nod. "The last thing that I want to remember, is still haunting me to these days." Naruto closes his face with his palm. "I thought being immortal, I will get used to seeing the death of the person I love. But to this day, I still remember the day when Marida-chan dies in front of me, and I also can..., still..."
"Still can feel the pieces of Marimo-chan all over your face and your body, right?"
"!"
"In your wrecked state, you punch that damned INVADERS to smithereens, but the impact of your punch also destroys Marimo-Chan's body."
"...Stop..."
"I remember that you gathered what remains of Marimo-Chan, and tried to put her back together again..."
"Stop it..."
"But the pieces just wouldn't stick...,"
"I said stop it!" Naruto remembers that he almost lost his sanity that day and went berserk in the fight against the invaders. Thanks to Kurama and his Super Robot Force comrades, he manages to regain back his sense.
Of all of the enemies that Naruto has encountered, the one that he really hates is the invaders. He can't feel the life energy from them just like undead or zombies, and they have the advantages of their large number of species and variants, thus making them very unpredictable, fiercer, and more bothersome than the other enemies he ever fought.
"In the end, behind your immortal and strong body, you're still a normal human being."
"And there is nothing wrong with that."
"I never said it was wrong."
"Mhm...," A groan can be heard at the bed in front of the couch, "Naruto...?" the half sleepy Cera who only uses a light-green messy pajama top that reveals her undergarment is rubbing her eyes.
"I'm here Cera. Sorry for waking you up," Naruto said as he approach Cera.
"Are you alright?" Cera asking.
"I'm okay, go back to sleep,"
"Mmm," Cera pulls Naruto, making him fall to the bed.
"Oi, Cera-" But before Naruto finishes his protest, Cera quickly hugs him like a hugging pillow.
"Stay with me," Cera said as she buried her face in Naruto's chest. She hugs him tightly "And never leave me again, please..."
Naruto only answers with a sigh as he pats Cera's hair. Cera closes her eyes and lets a small smile appear on her face. After a long time, she finally can sleep well, with the person she loves.
"Don't let your little brother stand."
"Shut up."
"Professor Karas, care to explain to me about this?"
Back in the Britannia's Central Military Base in Chiapas, Clovis in his command control room shows several pictures and videos of Compatible Kaiser destroying his troops towards Karas via outer-space telecommunication.
Even though he knows that Karas hide something, Clovis is still not happy to know that his elite military team is destroyed to smithereens by just one giant robot.
"And don't even try to fool or hide something from me, Karas," Clovis said in a threatening tone.
Seeing that refusing is not an option, Karas nodded his head while fixing his glasses. "First of all, Lord Karas. We still don't know who's the person behind the giant robot and the golden ship. It suddenly appeared several days ago near the moon colony and assisted the fleeing Lacus Clyne."
Karas shows the recorded video from one of the mobile suits that chasing Lacus Clyne. Clovis' sight is turned to the mobile suit that Lacus Clyne use for her escape.
"I think my eyes are deceiving me, Is that a Gundam, I suppose?"
Karas felt the cold sweat flooding his forehead, "Y-yes,"
"Hmm..., for what purpose, a small kingdom like Jupiter Empire, creating a G-Weapon?"
"Ju- just for a trial experiment sir. The Gundam is a prototype and doesn't have any dangerous weapon in it, it's still frail and not stronger than Eggbots," Karas lies. It's going to be a serious and dangerous matter if Clovis knows the real specification of Justice Gundam.
Clovis is not buying Karas' explanation. He knows Jupiter Empire hides something.
It's not like Clovis is clean either, the 'thing' that Kallen and Cagalli stole from his base is a something he needs for his own secret project that even other royal Holy Britannian Kingdom families, nobles, the military, and even the current emperor doesn't know about this matter. And he intends to keep it that way.
"If you said so," but Clovis let Karas dance with his lies for a while. Right now, he's more interested in Compatible Kaiser "Now let's talk about this giant robot."
"Right, about that we still don't anything about this robot other than several weapons the robot shows to us."
Karas shows the video of Compatible Kaiser annihilating the Jupiter Empire's mobile suit troops with moves like Over Beam, Spiral Knuckle, and Kaiser boomerang.
Clovis' eyes widened in awe. "This..."
Maybe the influence of his father and brothers makes Clovis also adore and valued power over his love of art and beautiful thing. If he saw a powerful thing in front of him, Clovis will try to take and conquer it by all means. Strong army, strong weapons, he wants all of it.
And now in front of his very eyes, he saw the supreme power itself in the form of a giant robot named Compatible Kaiser.
Karas fixed his glasses position "From what we saw and investigate, we believe this is one of-"
"Super Robot," Clovis cut in. "Powerful weapons which have been banned since one century ago."
"Correct, my lord."
"And you with the Jupiter Empire also want this power right?"
Karas widened his eyes "T-That's no-"
"Don't try to fool me, Karas, there is no sane person who doesn't want a powerful machine like this falls to their hand."
"Grrkhh..." Karas can only grit his teeth.
"Our cooperation is over. Now, this becomes a race between us, who's the first one that can capture that giant robot and the red Gundam. My army or your small serf companion."
But there is also another thing that Clovis loves higher than power itself, competition.
"Lord Clovis, wait-"
"Godspeed Karas, you and your beloved empire need it."
Clovis turned off the communication.
"Aggh!" Karas slams the desk in front of him. Not just Compatible Kaiser, Clovis also wants the Justice Gundam. "This is my fault, I can't let Justice fall to their dirty hand."
Then he started another outer-space telecommunication. "Duker, change of plans."
The next day on the Solo Ship's bridge, Naruto once again sat at the commander's seat with Lacus and Ayame as the ship operator and Haro as the helmsman.
There is also Sahib using a wheelchair and Chico standing beside Naruto.
"Boss, your body is alright?"
"No need to worry, just getting a good 8-hour sleep is enough to recover my body, hahaha," Sahib said with a laugh. Chico can only shake his head.
"We almost reach the forest of Amazon, and so far there is no enemy detected," Ayame reported.
"But we also still couldn't find any radio or telecommunication signal so far, even though Minovsky particles in this area are not so thick," Lacus added.
"Haro, keep the pace. The situation seems normal but we need to stay alert. "
"Yes sir," Haro replies.
Then Naruto turns his sight towards Sahib and Chico, "Boss, can you tell me more about this Brazil hidden base?"
"The base is not really huge, but they have more advanced weapons than we do," Sahib said. "The leader is an ex-Major of Britannia's Army, and he has a sponsor that has many connections to the black market that sell illegal weapons."
"Wait, ex-major of Britannian army?" Naruto is more interested in that information than the black market.
"Don't worry, he's a good and trusted man," Chico said. "after he was fed up with the error and mistakes of Britannia's ideology, that man and several people including Boss Sahib creates the ABM and expanded their influence to other colonized nations."
"That girl, Kallen, is she know that one of the ABM's founders is a Britannian?"
"She knows and she's not happy about it," Sahib said with a small laugh.
"It still bothers me that we haven't been able to contact their base in these past few months," Chico scratch his hair. "Maybe because of the Minovsky Particle's density or maybe-"
"The Brits manage to track and disrupt our radio communication signal,"
Meanwhile, in the ABM Brazil hidden base, the red hair girl from before is still trying to contact the Mexico base,
"ABM Mexico, do you copy?"
But still, no one is answering.
"Still nothing happened, Yoko?"
A well-built caucasian man with X shaped scar between his eyes enters the command room. The man wears a white t-shirt and military pants, complete with the boot. He is the leader of ABM Brazil Alfred Welken.
"Captain Welken," The red hair girl, or Yoko Littner, saluted her superior. "No, the ABM Mexico is still not responding to our call. I'm afraid that there is something terrible happened to them."
"Let's pray that it's just minovsky particle's density that makes us unable to contact Mexico," Alfred said.
"...I hope so," Yoko said, still feeling worried.
"Captain!"
Another person enters the command room. A beautiful young female with long black hime-style hair, wearing a green beanie hat. She wears a blue long trenchcoat that has a star-shaped logo on the right shoulder with a dark-brown colored gunbelt complete with the gun on her waist. Inside the trenchcoat, she wears a green military suit and pants with black boots. She also carries a shotgun in her left hand.
"What is it, Mai?" Alfred asks.
"We caught something flying in the sky!" The young woman named Mai said, "A golden spaceship!"
"A spaceship!?" Yoko widened her eyes.
The three of them walked out of the commander's room and looked at the sky. Just like Mai said, they saw the Solo Ship flying a little bit far above them.
"Captain, they might be the Brits," Yoko said.
"Maybe yes, maybe no," Walken said as he walks to the UHF marine radiotelephone. "Let's take a gamble shall we,"
"Wait, captain!"
Back to the Solo Ship
~kssh~ [To the foreign golden airship, to the golden airship, do you read?]
"Naruto-Kun, we got a signal," Lacus said to Naruto, "It's likely from the forest below us."
"I believe that's the sound of ABM Brazil's leader, Alfred Welken," Sahib added.
"Open the radio communication," Naruto orders.
"Roger," Lacus then press a button. "This is Lacus Clyne, the operator of Solo Ship."
[...Lacus Clyne? Daughter of Siegel Clyne?]
"...Correct sir, am I talking to the leader of ABM Brazil's leader, mister Alfred Welken?"
[Correct madam Clyne. Are you perhaps in affiliation with Britannia's military?]
"No, sir. We're not. In fact, we're friends with ABM Mexico's leader mister Sahib."
"And they don't need to prove that, it's me Walken!"
Lacus, Ayame, and even Naruto are surprised when Sahib suddenly appeared beside Lacus. For a man in a wheelchair, he sure is fast.
[Sahib? Old friend, is that really you?]
"Do you know someone else that know back then in middle school you're-"
[Alright, alright, I know it's the real you, dang it.]
"Are we allowed to land our spaceship, sir?" Lacus asks.
[Permission granted. Please land at the place that I coordinate.]
Then Solo Ship immediately receives the shared landing location from Walken via GPS.
"Copy that. We're going to land."
The place where the Solo Ship landing is a deforestation side of the Amazon forest, an awful sight for Naruto and the others.
"Is this, really Amazon?" Lacus said in disbelief as she and Ayame looked at the horrible sight from the Solo Ship's giant window.
"That's the Brits noble to you," Sahib said, "In just last year, almost 20 to 25% of the Amazon rainforest was already destroyed. Deforestation, illegal hunting of Amazon's exotic animals, and exploitation of Amazon's rich natural resources. All of them just for their personal greeds."
"That's awful..."Lacus said with a sad expression.
"Huh, this is why I can't stand the spacenoids, they don't know a damn thing about what happened on Earth but they act as if they care," Kallen said as she followed by Cagalli from behind come from the other side of Solo Ship.
"Kallen!" Cagalli shouts as she elbows Kallen's hip.
Ayame also approaching Kallen.
"Keep your mouth shut. I don't care if you mocking me, but the thing that I hate the most is when someone talks bad about Lacus Sama in front of me."
"Ayame!" Lacus lightly pull Ayame's scarf.
As the confrontation Began, Cera comes out of her room wearing the same clothes she used yesterday. "Hoaamm..., what is it, another fight between mistress?"
"Hoo, what are you gonna do about it, fake ninja?" Kallen said in a challenging tone.
"This might be my first time punching an Earthnoid," Ayame angrily cracked her hand.
"Ayame, don't!"
"Stop it, Kallen!"
"Cut it out you two!" *PLACK!*
"Kya!" "Ugh!"
Naruto slapped both Ayame and Kallen in the back of their head. "Look, our host is here. behave yourself!"
Ayame silently pats the back of her head while Kallen grumbled and also patted the back of her head.
The group saw a military truck drive towards the Solo Ship. As the owner of Solo Ship, Naruto was the first to get off the ship to greet the host. But then Cera follows Naruto from behind, making him sigh and shake his head.
The truck finally arrives and stopped in front of Naruto and Cera, then three-person; Alfred Welken, Yoko Littner, and Mai; get off the truck and walk toward Naruto.
"You must be Alfred Welken, right?" Naruto starts the conversation.
"Are you the commander of that golden spaceship?" Welken said as he looked at Naruto's appearance.
"The owner of the spaceship."
"Are you sure that you had nothing to do with the Brits?"
"I would have said the same to you if boss Sahib had not told me anything," Naruto stretched out his hand for a handshake. "Uzumaki Naruto, a normal wandering mechanic and junk merchant."
Cera lets a small laugh come from her mouth,
"Pssh, normal my butt."
"Pssh, normal my ass."
Welken shakes his hand, "Alfred Welken, the current leader for the ABM Brazil." Then he turns his head to Yoko and Mai. "And these two is my subordinates and ace pilot, Yoko Littner and Mai."
"...Nice to meet you," Greets Yoko with a bit of suspicion while Mai only bows in silence.
"At least they're more friendly than the red hair bitch."
Then Welken and his subordinates looked at Cera, "And, you are?"
"C.C., Naruto's legal wife."
"Pardon?"
"Don't mind her, she likes to joke with people she just met," Naruto said.
Without further ado, Welkin immediately asks, "Can we meet Sahib?"
"Of course," Naruto turns back to Solo Ship and waves his hands. After several seconds, Sahib with Chico's aid is getting off from Solo Ship, followed by Kallen, Cagalli, Ayame, and Lacus from behind.
"Sahib!" Looking at his old friend's condition, Walken followed by Yoko and Mai runs towards them.
"Hello, old friend," Sahib greet with small chuckles.
"W-what's happening!?"
Sahib's expression turns bitter "...Something terrible happened at us yesterday."
"Yesterday?"
"Kallen! Cagalli!" Yoko jumps and hugs the two ABM girls. "It's been a while!"
"A-eh," Kallen doesn't know how to respond to a sudden affection from her friend.
"Yeah, it's been a while," Cagalli answers with a small smile. Then she looked at Mai, "Hello Mai,"
"I don't see Naoto and the others, where are they?" Mai asks.
"...Naoto, he's, he is... UWAAAHHH!" Kallen's sudden outburst is surprising Walken, Yoko, and Mai.
"Kallen, what's wrong?" Asks Yoko in worry.
"Kallen, here," Cagalli helps Kallen to stand up.
"Hmm..., looks like it's going to be a long story," Walken said as he looked at Kallen, then turns his sigh at Lacus and recognize her. Then the non-fighter women, children, and elders refugees from the Mexico base are getting off from the Solo Ship. "And we also need more trucks."
"I already contact the base, two more trucks will come here soon," Mai said.
"Thank you, Mai," Walken then turns his sight at Naruto. "We'll go to the base after the other trucks arrive. After that, we can talk there."
"Alright," Then he takes a small radio communication, "Haro, activates the Solo Ship's camouflage system."
"Ready!"
After receiving the command, Solo Ship suddenly 'disappears' from view because of the camouflage system, surprising Welken and his two subordinates.
"Wow, there are not many spaceships that have a camouflage system," Welken said in awe.
"Yeah, that guy over there isn't your everyday junk merchant," Sahib added, referring to Naruto.
After a fairly short but bumpy ride, Naruto and the others finally arrive at the Brazil Base.
Just like Sahib said, the Brazil base is smaller than the Mexico base; Just a two-story brick building with a building area of 36 m² and fewer fighters number than the Mexico base. But their weakness is covered by their weapons.
"Wow, you guys have the Eagle series," Naruto said as he saw three mobile suits that were created based on American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft from more than a thousand years ago in the past, the F-15 Eagle. Then he saw other machines behind the F-15, two grey-colored eEXM-17 ALTO, and five white-colored Eggbots. "And You have Altos and Eggbots too, where do you get those?"
"Yeah, we have connection and sponsor," Welken said. Just like what Sahib said to Naruto. Makes him wonders who's the person that supports Welken, because unlike Eggbots; which is a commercial robot that can be purchased at various department stores or robot shop; Eagle and Alto are military mobile suits that are specially patented for the Earth Federations.
"Whoever that guy is, he or she must be a big shot."
"Okay, now please tell me what happen yesterday in Mexico base, and why the famous royal songstress of Jupiter Empire is here in Earth."
"Songstress?" Yoko then looked at Lacus, "No way, is she really Lacus Clyne?"
"You just know?" Mai said in a deadpan tone.
"I know that she has a beautiful face when I watch her on television, but her real self is more gorgeous," Yoko's cheeks blushed. "I'm going to ask for her autograph later."
"it's started with the Earth's purging plan by the Jupiter Empire," Lacus start first.
"Jupiter Empire? That small colony?" Yoko raises her eyebrows. "You're not joking right?"
"Yeah, at first we don't believe it either," Chico said.
Then Lacus continues her explanations, followed by Sahib and Chico explaining what happened yesterday in the Mexico base.
"Oh, God..."
Welken sits languidly after knowing what happened to the Mexico base, Yoko grit her teeth and clench her fist in anger. Mai bowed her head to pray for the souls of the Mexico base's warriors to rest in peace.
"We- I'm so sorry. If only we contact you earlier, something like this would not have happened." Then Welken looked at Naruto and bow his body. "And mister Uzumaki, thank you for saving them."
Naruto shook his head, "I don't think I deserve your grateful captain. If only we'd arrived sooner..."
"At least you're still come, and not turned tail then run away," Yoko said as she approach Naruto. While still showing an expression mix of anger and grief, she's still grateful to Naruto. "I'm sorry for suspecting you to be a Brits spy."
"Tch," Naruto can hear Kallen clicks her mouth behind him.
"It's official, she's better than the red hair bitch."
Naruto scratches the back of his head. "Do I really look like a Britannian?"
"We have mirror in Solo Ship, right?"
"Anyway, I don't think Britannian will stop right now. And we also got a new enemy to be concerned about," Welken then turn his sight to Lacus cand Ayame, "Can you explain this Battle Bike Squad?"
"Just like its name, Battle Bike Squad is a special military force that armed with Battle Bikes series assigned to guard the Jupiter Empire's embassy in Britannia Empire. The leader is a war veteran named Duker Iq, I believe he's one of the Galicson's riders," Ayame explains.
"You mean the one that's bigger than the other bikes right!?" Kallen said with a glare that filled with anger. "That bastard! He's the one that killed Naoto and hurts Boss Sahib! I swear I will kill him in our next encounter!"
"Kallen, calm down," Cagalli pats Kallen's back to calm her down. "Anger is not going to get you anywhere."
" I know that! But-"
"Alright!" Welken interrupts as he claps his hands. "We can discuss this matters again later, now its near the time for lunch. Care for join, mister Uzumaki?"
"With pleasure," Naruto said with a small smile.
"Alright then, Pepe!" Welken calls a Brazilian young adult with curly hair named Pepe, "Call the boys, it's lunchtime."
"Yes, captain!"
At the same time at the lodging in Manaus City.
"Boys listen!" Duker Iq said as he comes out of the room. "The Brits have cut ties with us. But that's not going to change our mission to capture Lacus Clyne and the giant robot."
Renda raises her hand, "What are we going to do with the Brits?"
"It's simple," Duker says with a smirk. "If they get in the way of our mission, destroy them."
Duker's statement confused all of his subordinates.
One of the subordinates raises his hand. "But Captain, I don't think we can handle two enemies at once."
"He's right, I mean a mighty giant robot that came out straight from Powerful Rangers and the Brits army with their advanced Knightmare Frames?" Another subordinate said. "It's like a suicide mission. We are Battle Bike Squad, not Suicide Squad."
"Boys, I know you are worried. But don't forget that we are one of the strongest Jupiter Empire's special military forces," Duker said as once again he shows a devilish smirk. "Besides, who said that we're going to war without any preparations?"
"Preparations? You mean-"
"Yes, soldier. Our new weapons are arriving soon."
Marimo Jinguuji and Alfred Welken are characters from Muv-Luv Alternative
Yoko Littner is a character from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan
Mai is a character from Dragon Ball. Her appearance is from Black Goku Saga
Egg Robo is based on robots that occasionally appear in Dragon Ball series like Pilaf Machine or Giru.
F-15 Eagle is a mecha from the Muv-Luv series. eEXM-17 ALTO is from the 30 Minutes Mission plastic model.
Will I add another character from Dragon Ball? The answer is no. Mai is a special case because I like her and she's also a pilot of mecha (Pilaf Machine)
