Earths Mightiest Heroes after a clash with their foes cross paths with Avatar Korra and find themselves standing together against a common threat to both their worlds. On that day they became The Avengers.

7. 6: The Spirit of Competition

Authors Notes: A..nd we're back with The Avengers Avatar Saga folks. Sorry for the long delays folks I've been busy with nights at my job, but thankfully I've had time to work on this next chapter, and now we're moving into the ProBending championships, and you can bet they'll be a whole lot of complicated things that Kamala and the Avengers need to deal with.

Chapter VI:

:The Spirit of Competition:

It was a new day in Republic City, despite the recent weeks events of AIM's presence known to the Avengers and the threat of Amon still looming. The city carried on and several weeks later the day arrived for the Fire Ferrets the first day of the Pro Bending Championships had was falling on the city as winter had come, and in the Pro Bending arena the sound of booming music emerged from the training room.

"L…LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!"

(Music playing Lets get ready to rumble)

Music blasted out of Kamala's phone which was on loud speaker and the sounds echoed through the room. While she sat on the bench watching the training take place.

In the training room, Korra, Mako and Bolin stood in a circle and trained with attacks from their respective elements.A determined Avatar Korra fired several water bullets from a water tank towards Bolin who raised and earth disk to block the attack. Then it was Mako who performed a fire spin kick to douse the water bullet. Then fired several fire strikes to Bolin who blocked them with Earth Disks.

At the side of the room Kamala watched with Clint who was also in the room eating some spring rolls he bought for lunch.

"Come on guys feel the rhythm!" Kamala called to them cheering them on.

"Stay in synch!" Clint also cheered.

Mako fired several fire blasts at both Bolin and Korra who blocked them with their respective elements. Suddenly one fire blast hit Bolin in the chest before he launched an Earth disk which hit Korra in the gut, before she let loose a water bullet that hit Mako right in the face knocking them all down on their backs.

"KO!" Clint called out. The three benders got up and looked at each other laughing as they stood up and took off their helmets.

"Nice work guys now your working like a team." Kamala complimented as she turned the music off on her phone.

(Music ends)

"Man Kamala your right that music really helped with training I've never felt more on fire!" Bolin said excitedly.

"That Bolin is called feeling the beat." Kamala smiled.

"Yeah just be glad that we didn't bring Starks playlist." Clint then said. "But seriously you guys work great as a team."

"Well I guess it helps having Korra here for so many back to back practices." Mako smiled before looking to Korra. "Seriously though its great to have you back."

"Its great to be back, and look I know I haven't been feeling like myself lately but now I feel I'm ready for anything!" Korra said. "I guess helping the Avengers stop a train with a bomb on board helped a little."

"Yep just another day in the life of Earths Mightiest Heroes." Clint said. "But you know from what I heard that doosh Tarrlok isn't too glad we're stealing his task forces thunder."

"Or glad about my resignation?" Korra guessed.

"Oh please Tarrlok can whine all he wants." Kamala said still hating what he did to her friend.

"Kamala's right you and her joined the Fire Ferrets before you joined his Task force." Bolin pointed out taking off his helmet. "And that was without his least thats what she told us."

"Okay, come on, team huddle time!" Mako called to his teammates, so Bolin and Korra joined him in a team huddle. Then Mako looked to a certain Polymorph. "You too Kamala."

Kamala looked rather surprised by this did Mako invite her to join the huddle? "R..really?" She asked.

"Sure your part of this team too." Bolin agreed, so without hesitation Kamala joined the huddle while Clint have a proud look on his face.

In the huddle Bolin gave a rather charming smile to Korra who simply cracked a small smile. Then Korra gave a rather gushing look to Mako who looked confused by it and shared this look with Kamala who also looked confused.

"Ahem. It's our first match of the tournament tonight. I know the four of us haven't been a team for very long, but even so, the Fire Ferrets have never been this good." Mako said to his teammates.

"Good more like amazing, you guys are such a great team, sure things have been rough but you bounced back the stronger for it." Kamala agreed.

"Thats the spirit Kamala." Mako smiled. "Are we ready?"

"We're ready!" Everyone said, just then they heard the sound of something coming in on a wheeled trolly.

"Not quite, you'll need these." The voice was Asami who had arrived with the teams new gear and on the shirt she was holding had the Future Industries logo. Hence the arrangement made for the Championship pot.

"Hey Asami." Mako greeted his girlfriend as he walked over to her.

"Good morning sweetie." Asami replied greeting her boyfriend. Much to Korra's hidden annoyance though she tried hard to hide could see the look of jealously in her eyes and she was beginning to see why. As could Clint.

Mako looked at the uniform and how it looked. "These uniforms look great." Mako said but then noticed something. It looked like a tag with his name on the back with a number 01 on the back. Korra's had a number 02 while Bolin had an 03. "Whats with the name tags?"

"Oh that part was Kamala's idea." Asami said.

"Yeah helps to identify the teammates works for basket ball and football it should work for Pro-Bending right?" Kamala said.

Then the beauteous girl remembered something. "Oh that reminds me." She looked in the trolley and pulled something else out. "Kamala heres the jacket you asked for."

Kamala ran excitedly over to Asami and took the jacket off her and opened it to reveal it was a red and white jacket with the face of a fire ferret on the back with the words Fire ferrets surrounding it. On the front was the smaller logo. She tried it on and it fitted perfectly.

"Nice it fits thanks Asami!" Kamala thanked.

"When did you ask her for this?" Korra asked.

"Oh well it was sometime after that thing with the Dark Terrigen bomb, I ran into Asami talking to Mako before training and asked if she could sort this out for me." Kamala explained.

"Oh its the least I could do, plus it compliments the scarf real well." Asami smiled to her.

Mako just smiled at that. "That looks great Asami." Mako complimented.

"You look great, champ!" Asami said as she and Mako then shared an eskimo kiss. Yet were oblivious to the group in their presence. Bolin just has a look that said, really? while Kamala just gagged while Korra did the same but just hid it.

Clint however had no problem showing his thoughts. "Hey kids save it for the honeymoon will ya." He said.

This earned a joking chuckle from the couple, then brought Asami's attention to him. "Hey your one of those Avengers right, I don't think we've met, my names Asami, Asami Sato." she offered a handshake.

"Oh yeah names Clint Barton, codename Hawkeye." Clint said shaking her hands.

"Charmed." Asami said smiling. "So you coming to the match tonight?"

"Yeah wouldn't miss it." Clint said smiling which got Kamala's attention.

"Really?" Kamala said surprised.

"Well sure since Tony's got VIP access with Sato's booth, the rest of the team and I decided we should come to show our support." Clint explained.

"Wow thanks Clint." Korra thanked in gratitude.

"Hey its like we used to say in the Circus we perform together." Clint said which received a lot of confused looks from everyone.

"Wait, you were in the circus?" Bolin asked.

Clint cringed as he mentioned something he didn't like talking about very much. "Oh yeah uh…I uh its something from my more questionable days."

Mako could see this was a sensitive subject for the archer Avenger. So he decided to change the subject. "Well, teammates." He said getting his teams attention. "I'll see you before the match tonight. Asami and I have a lunch date." With that the happy couple left the training room together.

"Okay you kids have fun!" Kamala teased as she waved.

"Yeah we'll check you guys later, you know, we'll see you when we see ya." Bolin waved to them as well.

As they left Korra went to pick up her training bag from the floor in silence. Deep down she was bitter with jealousy she hasn't told Kamala yet and was a little hesitant to tell anyone.

Just then Bolin came over to her with his hands behind his head to make him look cool. "So, Korra." He got her attention. There they go, here we are, all alone in the gym, just you and me, two alone people." Bolin said acting cool. "Together. Alone."

"Ahem." Said a voice and he looked to see Kamala with her arms crossed and with a teasing raised eyebrow. "You know I'm still in the room right?"

"Oh yeah uh Kamala hah hah." Bolin chuckled nervously with his hand behind his head. "Yeah I totally forgot you were in the room with us heh heh ha yeah."

Clint just shook his head with an amused smile seeing Bolin caught between two girls, just then he heard his com link beeping in his ear. "Yes." He answered it, he listened for a moment about what was being said. "Okay on our way."

He deactivated the com link and looked to the awkward scene in the room. "Kamala, wheels up!" Clint said getting her attention. "Nat needs us."

"Okay." Kamala called back. "Sorry guys duty calls I'll see you guys later at the match." She said as she ran out of the room.

Just then Korra sensing the awkwardness in the room remembered something. "Ah, I gotta head back to the air temple to train with Tenzin. See ya!" She said as she hurried out of the room.

Leaving a rather disappointed Bolin in the room, he was so close to scoring a date with Korra and he blew it. Clint saw his disappointed look and patted him on the shoulder for comfort.

"Don't sweat it kid, asking a girl on a date is never easy." Clint comforted before he left and this left Bolin to figure out how he was going to ask Korra out.

Meanwhile:

Back on Air Temple Island, while Korra was doing Airbending training with Tenzin. Natasha was hard at work in the Quinjet with Tony analysing the composition of the remnants of the Dark Terrigen bomb, hoping to find a lead on A.I.M or the scanners in the jet were scanning the remains bomb casing. The process was long, but it wasn't long before JARVIS had an answer.

"Well JARVIS enlighten us." Natasha asked.

"Based on a preliminary analysis of the remnants I can verify the bomb was constructed with high end materials. Nothing that compares to the technology of this world." JARVIS reported.

"Meaning A.I.M had this at the Siberia compound before we got blasted to this world." Natasha noted.

"Thats not the worst of it this is based of the Greengrid tech that Georgie boy acquired in the take over." Tony said recognising the specs.

"Green grid?" Called a voice, Tony and Nat looked to see Kamala and Clint had arrived in the jet. "Whats that?" Kamala asked.

"Well kid it was Stark Industries attempt at developing the very atmospheres capacity for storing and transmitting power." Tony explained. "It was a way for clean energy, but I had it shut down when I realised what it could do in the wrong hands."

"Hold on don't tell me it weaponised the sky." Clint guessed.

"Gold star Hawkeye." Tony gave a thumbs up. "Anyway this was part of a dispersement device that could disperse antidotes to poisons it was a joint project me Bruce and Monica worked on before A-Day happened."

"And now instead of medicine its dispersing poison." Kamala guessed with dread.

"Seems that way, but best guess this was all that survived that Nornstone explosion." Natasha said.

"So no way they can make another?" Kamala hoped.

"Don't underestimate AIM kid, even when we outed Monica they managed to survive, who's to say they won't here." Tony surmised.

"Okay yeah but what about his Kabuki masked partner. I mean even if this message about his 'Equality' gets out there's no way he has the resources to supply AIM." Clint pointed out.

"No but they can be well hidden, which means A.I.M must have a base hidden somewhere." Natasha realised. "But where is a whole different story."

"And they'll stay hidden until A.I.M are ready to show themselves." Tony realised.

"Yeah, anyway in other news, tonights the first match of the Pro-Bending tournament!" Kamala then announced. "So you guys are coming right?"

"Yeah wouldn't miss it." Tony said.

"What about you Nat? You in?" Kamala asked.

"Hm I don't know I mean I should probably see if I can find any leads on either A.I.M or the Equalists." Natasha said but looked to see Kamala giving her a puppy dog eye look. Which did make the SHIELD agent wonder, if this meant the world to Kamala and her friends would this impact their relationship.

"But…I suppose I could use a night off." Natasha smiled with a wink.

"YES oh your the best!" Kamala said hugging the shield agent. "I'm gonna go see how Korra's doing." The young Polymorph then ran out of the jet to go find her friend.

"Ah kids." Tony chuckled.

"Yeah but you have to admit Kamala's grown quite fond of Korra." Clint admitted.

"Well who wouldn't I mean those two are like two peas in a pod, plus we couldn't separate them even if we tried." Tony agreed.

"Well I'm glad that she and the boys are keeping Kamala company in this world I think she likes having a younger crowd around." Natasha admitted.

"Yeah but I bet her bestie Doreen is missing her." Clint said.

"True true, by the way any progress locating Thor or Bruce?" Tony asked Natasha.

"Nothing, I've been looking in newspapers about any reference to a giant green beast or even a hammer wielding god." Natasha replied with some disappointment. "I even spoke to Lin about when she first came across him, according to Kamala. But nothing."

This made them wonder what really happened after the Nornstones exploded and sent them to this dimension. They knew they were separated in the blast so they could've ended up anywhere. Tenzin also explained to them how their world was divided into nations so for all they know they could've ended up in any of them.

ProBending Stadium:

Meanwhile in the tower of the Pro Bending stadium, Mako and Bolin in their evening wear were settling down. Mako was making boiled noodles in a pan and hop heater while his brother was in an epic struggle. Of giving Pabu a bath in a bucket. The small Fire Ferret squeaked and squirmed trying to get free.

"Work with me here, Pabu!" Bolin tried. "You wanna look spic and span in your new uniform, don't you?"

Pabu struggled again and again even standing on the edges of the pot. However it was all in vain and he ended up in the bucket of water as Bolin splashed it on him and the small fire ferret shook the water out of his head.

Bolin looked to his brother and decided to run something by him. "So, what do you think of Korra, in a "girlfriend" sort of way?"

"She's great! But I think it makes more sense for me to go for Asami." Mako said though he didn't know his brother wasn't talking about him.

"I was talking about a girlfriend for me!" Bolin said a little annoyed. "Leave some ladies for the rest of us!"

Mako's eyes widened in realisation so he corrected his statement. "I know, that's what I thought you meant." He went back to frying up supper as the snow fell outside.

With that awkwardness out of the way Bolin went back to his question while bathing his pet. "Well …?" Bolin asked.

However Mako wasn't too sure about what his brother was proposing, not just out of care but for some unknown reason. "I don't know, Bo. It doesn't seem like a good idea for you to date Korra."

"You just said she was great two seconds ago?" Bolin questioned.

"Yeah, Korra is a great athlete and the Avatar and stuff, but I don't know if she's really "girlfriend material". She's more like a pal." Mako simply said.

"Bro, you're nuts!" Bolin exclaimed. "Korra and I are perfect for each other, she's strong, I'm strong; she's fun, I'm fun; she's beautiful, I'm gorgeous!"

Mako just shook his head smirking. "Okay what about Kamala, Korra's not the only girl you know."

"Yeah I have thought about Kamala, and sure she's cute, funny, and amazing, but to me she's more like a little sister." Bolin said. "Besides she probably already has a boyfriend in her world."

"Maybe maybe not, but according to Tony she's single, besides she may seem like your type." Mako said. "You both have flexible personalities." He then joked.

Bolin just pulled a sulking face at that statement. "Ha ha very funny and you take the word of a billionaire who according to Kamala has had more exes than any guy on her world?"

"I'm just saying." Mako shrugged.

"Okay, I don't care what you think, I'm gonna ask Korra out." Bolin decided to ignore his brother as he held Pabu in the air who was wet.

"Look, it just isn't smart to date a teammate, especially during the tournament." Mako said turning to him in a very cautious tone. "Keep your head out of the clouds and your priorities straight, okay?"

"Yeah yeah I know, gah." Bolin said as Mako went back to cooking dinner. He then turned to his small fire ferret companion. "You know what I'm talking about, Pabu, I'm talking about real love." He said in a cool guy tone but this just made Pabu pull a genuinely confused look.

Air Temple Island:

Back on the island the snow had all but covered the island in a white blanket of snow. In a hut near the trees Steve Rogers in a warm coat sat there quietly reading a book. It was one of Jinora's books since his arrival in this world he was interested in the history behind it. So Jinora introduced her to the books her grandmother Katara wrote about her adventures. So he gave it a try and was almost immediately hooked on it, and they were a good read.

He was turning the page when he heard the sound of footsteps in the snow. He looked up and saw Korra, Kamala, Jinora and Ikki coming with baskets of fruit. Korra and Kamala wore matching sweaters from the Watertribe while Jinora and Ikki wore red robes over their Airbending robes.

"Hi Cap." Ikki greeted.

"Hey kids what're you up to?" Steve asked.

"Oh we're feeding the lemers in the trees." Jinora explained as Kamala set up the ladders to the cage. However as Korra climbed them she had something on her mind.

"Say Korra, just between us whats the deal with you and Mako?" Kamala asked aloud. Which caused Korra to nearly stumble on the ladder in surprise, and Jinora and Ikki to gasp in surprise.

"Wha…what what are you talking about? There's nothing going on between me and Mako?!" Korra stammered in surprise.

"Oh please I've seen the way you've been looking at him lately, and you pretty much gave it away when he came to see you after that whole thing with Amon." Kamala said rolling her eyes teasingly.

Korra just ignored what her friend said and just started placing fruit in the cage before Kamala sneaked a couple of apples. One she kept for herself and stretched her hand and handed the other to Steve who accepted it.

"Wow! Really!" Ikki said excitedly.

"So, how's it going with the tall, dreamy firebender boy?" Jinora asked with teasing interest just as the Ring Tailed Lemers. And Kamala's right been spending a lot of time together lately."

As Korra came down from the ladder Ikki came zipping up to her. "Oooh, yeah! Tell us all about the magical romance."

"Well I don't know about magical but there's defiantly a spark there." Kamala teased as she took a bite out of her apple.

Korra was flustered by all this before chuckling. "What?" She chuckled. "Listen to you three, I-I'm not interested in Mako or any romantic stuff." Korra then coughed as she put down the basket. "Besides he's all into that prissy, beautiful, elegant, rich girl." She said glumly.

"Ah ha so you are jealous!" Kamala caught her out. "Its always the small hints."

Korra just looked past that and decided to run something by them. "but let's just pretend for a second I am interested in him. What would I do?"

Jinora then had an idea. "Ooh! I just read a historical saga where the heroine fell in love with the enemy general's son, who's supposed to marry the princess." She explained. "You should do what she did!"

"Tell me!" Korra said excitedly.

"Yeah what she do?" Kamala asked with interest.

However the young air benders answer wasn't something they were expecting. "She rode a dragon into battle and burned down the entire country." Jinora answered which made Korra and Kamala think this wasn't such a good idea, while Steve just cringed. "Then she jumped into a volcano. It was so romantic!" Jinora said dreamingly.

"Ah we clearly have a different idea of romantic." Kamala said. "That sounds more like a very gory uncut version of the Hobbit."

"Whats The Hobbit?" Jinora asked not getting it.

"Ah it'll take too long to explain." Kamala simply said.

Ikki however thought differently about this. "No, no, no!" She said rapidly. "The best way to win a boy's heart is to brew a love potion of rainbows and sunsets that makes true lovers sprout wings and fly into a magical castle in the sky, where they get married and eat clouds with spoons and use stars as ice cubes in their moonlight punch. Forever and ever and ever!" Ikki said happily using her air bending to spin into the air.

While glad for the young air benders joy it didn't help Korra's romance problem. "Now your just mixing Disney fairytales with Studio Ghibli."

"What are all these strange things?" Jinora asked as Ikki landed on the ground.

"They're things from my world Jinora, if you guys ever come to my Earth I'm totally introducing you to them." Kamala said.

"The volcano is starting to make more sense to me now." Korra said before looking to her two Avenger friends. "Kamala do you have any ideas?"

"Why ask me?" Kamala asked.

"Oh come on you must be crushing on someone back where your from?" Korra asked.

"Oh well uh I don't really have time for boys, you know with exposing a corrupt corporation, Avenging and school no time for that really." Kamala explained blushing a bit.

"Then why are you blushing?" Korra said teasingly. "Its not that Spider guy you keep telling me about?"

"What! No no he's more like a pen pal, besides I…." Kamala was about to lose her cover until."Okay well there is this one guy, we met some time ago and well..."

"Korra." Said a voice and everyones attention was drawn on Steve who closed the book he was reading. "If you want my advice just be yourself, some people care more how a person feels rather than their outside."

"Really, you think so?" Korra asked.

"I know so." Steve explained which got the girls attention as the two airbender girls sat crosslegged in front of him like children wanting to hear a story.

Steve chuckled as he told his story. "It happened years ago during the war back before the Super Soldier serum." He began. "See when Erkstien saw potential in me for the serum I was in training and in the camp thats when I first met her." He pulled out of his pocket a small compass and opened it showing the girls a small picture of a woman with brown hair, blue eyes and red lipstick.

"Her name was Peggy Carter, she was one of the agents of the Strategic Scientific Reserve or SSR for short. They were the ones who commissioned the super soldier program during the war. We were good friends, and when I was altered by the serum becoming Captain America we fought to stop HYDRA." Steve explained and the girls continued to listen. "And well during that time we fell in love."

"Wow." Ikki and Jinora gasped.

"So what was she like?" Korra asked.

"She was the best woman I'd ever known, but I…" Steve sighed in sadness as he was hesitant to tell this next part. "I never got the chance to share my life with her, because when I fought the Red Skull on his Valkyrie ship, I had to stop it so I crashed it in the artic. Before I went on ice, we promised to meet up for dancing, but I…never got the chance."

Korra, Kamala, Ikki and Jinora were taken completely aback by this revelation. They couldn't help but feel sorry for the super soldier.

"But Kamala said you were thawed out what happened to her?" Korra asked.

"Well thats the downside of being frozen for over a decade. Because when I went to sleep the world moved on, and she grew older. While I remained the same, and a couple of years later. She died in her sleep."

The girls couldn't help but have tears in their eyes of hearing of such a tragic tale. "Oh thats awful." Jinora said.

"I'm so sorry." Korra said. As she sat down next to him. "And there's never been anyone else for you?"

Steve just scoffed at that. "How could there be? She was smart, talented, and beautiful."

Kamala secretly whispered something to Jinora and Ikki. "Yeah but back home people have been shipping him with Black Widow." She whispered which caused the girls to gasp silently with amazement till Kamala shushed them.

"The point is Korra, she loved me for the person I was, so as long as your yourself thats all that'll matter." Steve explained. Korra did give a smile at that.

"Well said." A voice made everyone jump and they looked to see Pema was standing on the path behind them.

"Oh, hey Pema. Uh, how long were you standing there?" Korra stammered in surprise.

"Ah, long enough." Pema chuckled. "But trust me, I know what you're going through. Years ago I was in the exact the same situation, with Tenzin."

"Seriously?" Kamala said surprised.

"Daddy was in love with someone else before you?" Ikki said equally surprised.

"That's right." Pema replied winking to her kids.

"I think I already know who." Steve said to himself given what Black Widow learned after their meeting with said person before.

"So what did you do?" Korra asked.

"Well, for the longest time, I did nothing." Pema explained to the group. "I was so shy and scared of rejection, but watching my soul mate spend his life with the wrong woman became too painful." Korra listened intently to what she was saying as was Kamala. "So I hung my chin out there and I confessed my love to Tenzin."

"So you took a leap of faith." Kamala realised.

"Thats right Kamala. And the rest is history." Pema confirmed with a smile.

"Ahhh" The girls gushed in awe.

This made Korra think about all that was told to her, and if Pema confessed her love to Tenzin and he accepted her. Then maybe she should try, and just tell Mako how she really feels.

"Oh no, Korra I know that look." Kamala said with worry.

"What?" Korra said innocently.

"Look I get what its like to have a crush but trust me don't go and do anything crazy." Kamala advised.

"Hey relax when have I ever done anything crazy?" Korra asked innocently with a smile.

The polymorph just gave a crooked eyebrow look in her direction, with a look that said 'really?' "You honestly want me to answer that?"

"Relax Kamala I won't do anything crazy." Korra dismissed as she follows the airbender kids and Pema back inside the temple.

Kamala however was a little worried she saw the look in Korra's eyes and she could see this would lead to trouble. She and Steve shared a knowing look this was starting to turn into a love triangle Korra liked Mako who was dating Asami. This kind of thing lead to only one thing. Trouble.

Later that night: The Probending Arena:

That very night at the Pro-Bending arena the first match of the championships had begun. The lights were up and people started pouring into the stadium. In the crowds sat Steve, Clint and Natasha who wore casual attire. Steve wore a white shirt under a brown jacket with dark blue pants with white and black boots. Clint wore a simple purple shirt under his black jacket and wore black pants and boots. Natasha wore a black shirt short sleeve shirt with brown pants, jacker and black boots.

The spotlights shone all over the stadium and soon turned on the arena. Shiro Shinobi was in his booth comentating on everything.

"Folks, after a year of waiting the Pro-bending Championship is finally here." Shinobi said. "Tonight is the first set of matches in our single elimination sixteen team bracket. And I gotta tell ya, these are the most tenacious and talented bending trios this arena has ever seen."

In the ring lockers the Fire Ferrets were suited up in their uniforms and ready to go. Kamala now wearing her Fire Ferrets jacket.

"Okay guys good luck show these guys that the Fire Ferrets will blaze to victory!" Kamala cheered in support.

"Thanks Kamala." Mako smiled as he and his teammates headed out onto the platform. It moved them to the stage.

"Introducing our first team, the Future Industries Fire Ferrets!" The ring announcer announced as Mako, Korra and Bolin waved and made epic poses as they arrived in the ring.

The crowds cheered and went wild seeing the rookies come up to the plate. Clint cheered too with his arms in the air while Nat and Steve just gave a supportive clap. Meanwhile in their private box the Sato's watched from afar with Tony sitting with them.

On the opposite end of the ring the other team arrived. They were dressed in grey with bands representing their elements. They were all female players one had short gray hair the other had black hair in a bun while the other was rather buff looking and had her black hair in a ponytail.

"And their opponents, the Red Sands Rabaroos!" The ring announcer announced as they arrived on the ring.

The two teams readied themselves as they stared each other down. Everyone of them like a cat ready to pounce on their pray. Then with the ding of the bell…THEY WERE OFF!.Each team bent their respective elements and the collision between the two pushed each team back.

"What an explosive opening volley. Both teams quickly recover and unleash a barrage of bending." Shinobi announced as the match began.

The Raberoos attack first, their Earthbender fires duel earthdisks at the Ferrets while the waterebender fired several water bullets and the Firebender launched some fire fists.

The ferrets quickly retaliated, Korra blocks one earth disk with a water bullet and quickly dodges a fire fist. An earth disk was about to hit her until Mako launches a fire fist to destroy it giving her a chance to fire a water bullet. While Bolin fires some earthdisks.

"I am astonished with the level of improvement displayed here by the Fire Ferrets." Shiro Shinobi announced as the combined attack knocks the firebender into zone 2. "No wonder the Avatar has been absent from the papers lately, while the Avengers have been taking the media by storm." The crowds cheered as the Ferrets now advanced into their territory. "She's obviously had her nose to the grindstone in the gym."

"Come on Ferrets show those Rabaroos how you burn YEAH!" Clint yelled from the crowds while Nat and Steve just cheered in support.

"Go guys Go Fire Ferrets!" Kamala called from the lockers.

In the ring the Ferrets continued to fight on a united front pushing the Rabaroos further and further back. "The Ferrets advance into Rabaroo territory and are holding nothing back." Korra fires a water bullet, while Mako launches a series of fire fists, dodging an incoming water bullet. "Nice sprawl there by Mako." Bolin slams his foot into the ground and an earth disk appears and sends it spinning into the Rabaroos. One rabaroo dodges but an incoming fire fist by Mako knocks them down.

"Bolin strikes, Ula dodges, and all three Rabaroos are down. The Fire Ferrets easily take round one!" Shinobi announced as the bell dings and the Ferrets claimed victory.

"Yeah!" Kamala cheered.

"Round Two!" The Ring announcer declared and the bell rang starting round two.

"The Rabaroos are looking for payback and they go straight after Bolin." The water bender Rabaroo raises water from the gutter and unleash it on Bolin pushing him back and Bolin blocks the next strike with an Earthdisk. Korra leaps to the rescue and unleashes a water bullet knocking the opposing water bender back.

"Korra comes to his defense and water-whacks Umi back into zone two!" Mako kicks back incoming earth disks and unleashes some fire fists and dodges an incoming water bullet, then fires a fire kick knocking the other team away.

"The Ferrets are on fire tonight and they win round two." Shiro Shinobi announces as the crowd cheers the bell rings announcing the end of round two.

"Man this is getting good!" Tony said excited from the Satos booth. "I should've brought a camera!"

'Yeah look at them go!" Asami agreed.

"Yes it is becoming very entertaining." Hiroshi chuckled in agreement.

"If you think this is good Hiroshi you should see the contact sports we have back home, even without bending its one heck of a show." Tony said to him chuckling.

"I'll have to take your word for it Tony." Hiroshi agreed.

"R..ound three!" The Ring announcer proclaimed on the mich as the bell sounded for round three.

Round three started like a bolt of lightning, the Rabaroos are on the attack their water bender firing water bullets but her fellow teammate was knocked down by an earth disk.

"With the Rabaroos down two rounds they'll need a knockout to win, and with the way the Fire Ferrets are playing I don't see that happening." Shiro Shinobi announced. Bolin dodges an incoming water whip, then fires an earth disk followed by his brother with a fire kick knocking the rival Earthbender and Firebender back to zone two. The Earthbender looked with a deeply angered look at the team who were wiping the floor with them. They jumped back into the fight.

"These Ferrets are working together like a well-oiled bending machine." Korra fired two water bullets and kicks at the Rabaroos followed by Bolin's Earthdisks firing one after the other knocking the firebender back into the next zone.

"Bolin passes Adi back into zone two and the Ferrets get the green light to advance." The alarm sounds and the Ferrets advance as the crowd goes wild. While in the lockers Kamala mimicked all their moves as she watched from afar.

"The Rabaroos are just fighting to stay at their feet at this point." The Rabaroos were knocked down by water bullets, earth disks and combo attacks from Mako, Bolin and Korra one by one the rival team was blasted into zone three as the alarm blared out.

"Out goes Adi, and Ula, and Umi!" Shiro Shinobi announced. The bell sounded signalling the end of the match.

"All three rounds go to the Future Industries Fire Ferrets to win the opening match of the tournament!" The Ring announcer announced.

"YEAH!" Kamala cheered. "Mess with the Fire Ferrets you get burned!"

In the ring the Fire Ferrets celebrated their victory. "Wahoo!" Korra cheered.

"Yes!" Mako cheered.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Bolin cheered as the ferrets had a group hug. The rival team wasn't so pleased as they groaned in disgrace.

As Mako and Korra headed back to the locker area, Bolin was still accepting praise from his adoring public. "Thank you, thank you very much! Thank you all you fans!" He called.

Kamala ran up to her teammates and pulled them into a group hug. "Ahhh guys you we're amazing out there you pretty much won before they even laid down a punch!"

"Thanks Kamala and your right, we ruled out there." Korra said as Kamala broke off from her and Mako.

Mako took his helmet off as he headed to the lockers. "Yeah and she's were really connecting out there in that ring." He said.

Korra took off her helmet as she went to the lockers with Mako. "Yeah! You know, I feel like the two of us have been connecting really well out of the ring, too."

Kamala just grimaced at those words. "Uh oh." She didn't like where this was going.

"Uh, sure." Mako said completely oblivious as he put his helmet in his locker.

Korra was about to say something until she looked to Kamala who was giving of hand and a panicked look saying. "No no no!"

But Korra just ignored her. "So, I was thinking we should spend some time together." She said and Kamala's jaw dropped like an anvil cartoon style.

"Oh, we've been spending lots of time together." Mako chuckled.

Korras face blushed as she continued to talk and Kamala just had to do something. "Uh yeah time in the gym yeah because we train as a team!" Kamala tried only for Korra to shove her out of the way.

"I mean outside of the gym, and not while searching for kidnapped family members or fighting chi blockers alongside super heroes from another dimension." Korra explained. While Kamala all but pleaded to herself.

"Don't say it!" Kamala grimaced silently practically pulling her hair.

Mako wasn't sure how to feel about all this. "I don't know. Asami and I have…"

"Look, I really like you and I think we are meant for each other!" Korra abruptly said then looked away and Kamala just slapped her head. She'd said it.

"Korra, I'm really sorry, but I just don't feel the same way about you." Mako said as gentle as he could.

"Forget I ever said anything." Korra simply said a little upset. As Korra lay her helmet down on the table just then Asami came in with Pabu on her shoulder followed by Tony, Steve, Natasha and Clint.

"Congratulations, guys! You were so amazing out there." Asami congratulated as Pabu flew off her shoulder she came up to her boyfriend.

"Yeah you guys were on fire out there, and the Rabaroos looked more like the Rabalosers!" Clint congratulated.

"Oh uh thanks guys." Korra thanked.

"Clints right, you three worked well together perfectly coordinated. Like a real team." Steve congratulated.

"Wow thanks Cap coming from you that means a lot." Bolin thanked. "But we ain't got nothing on how you guys work together."

"Oh I don't know about that kid, you keep this up and you might just make the title Avengers in Training." Tony simply said.

"And trust me kid it takes a lot for Tony to say that." Natasha said elbowing Tony.

"Wow thanks." Mako said just then he had a kiss on the cheek from Asami, but he couldn't help but look awkwardly at Korra, and she likewise at him, so they walked away. However those looks didn't go unnoticed by Natasha.

Kamala didn't want to say I told you so because she felt Korra had been beaten up enough, this couldn't possibly get anymore awkward. Then it did. As Korra went to leave Bolin leaned on the table to talk to her.

"So, Korra, I was thinking, you and me, we could get some dinner together, sort of a date situation." Bolin asked.

Clint just rolled his eyes and shook his head at the Earthbenders new attempt to ask Korra out. Even Tony had to join in as he had a history with asking out girls who were beyond his league, that and how some of them end up nearly killing him.

"Oh, that's really sweet, but I don't think so. I don't feel very date-worthy." Korra said rather saddened.

"Oh come on Korra don't say that." Kamala said trying to comfort her friend.

"Yeah she's right. You're the smartest, funniest, toughest, buffest, talentedest, incrediblest girl in the world!" Bolin said to her in all honesty.

Those words made Korra chuckle rather touched. "You really feel that way about me?"

"I felt that way since the moment I saw you! Trust me, I know we're gonna have so much fun together." Bolin said, his brother however couldn't help but overhear what they were talking about while he and Asami spoke to Steve and Natasha.

"If that fun doesn't mean getting captured by Equalists." Kamala joked.

"Yeah, you know Kamala your just as funny." Korra said. "You know your welcome to come with us."

"Well…I don't want to feel like a third wheel." Kamala cringed at that.

"Why should that bother you all of a sudden?" Bolin asked. "I don't mind if you come along."

However before Kamala could answer that just then they heard a knock on the door in the locker room. Everyone turned to see Sergeant Saikan in the doorway.

"Seargant Saikan?" Korra said in surprise.

"Good evening I'm sorry to intrude but I'm looking for Captain Rogers and his team." Saikan then said.

"You found us." Steve said coming forward. "To what do we owe this visit?"

"Well Chief Beifong has requested you and the other Avengers to report to the police precinct." Saikan explained.

"Oh boy what did we do this time?" Tony asked a little scared to see Beifong again.

"We'll be there." Steve said before turning to his team. "Avengers saddle up." he said as he, Nat, Tony and Clint left the room and Kamala knew it was time to assemble.

"Well I guess I know what I'm doing tonight, you guys go have fun I'll see you later." Kamala said to her friends.

"Sure thing." Korra said understandingly. Before Kamala left the room she looked back at her friends.

"Oh and try not to have too much fun without me!" She called before running off.

"No promises!" Korra called before she turned back to Bolin.

"So Korra, what about us?" Bolin asked hopefully.

"You know what? I could use some fun. Okay, sure!" Korra answered happily.

"Yes! Who's the luckiest guy in the world? Right here, Bolin!" Bolin cheered in joy as he left the room. However Mako, was a little uneasy about seeing his brother is going off with Korra. He was glad to be with Asami, however after Korra's confession and his brothers idiotic idea of asking her out despite whats going on in the tournament.

However for now he was happy holding Asami who looked at him with loving eyes.

Republic City Police Department:

Later that night at the police department, the Avengers now suited up in their uniforms/armour arrived at the Republic City Police were in a meeting with Lin in her office. She sat in her office chair and looked upon the Avengers in her office.

"So Chief to what do we owe this pleasure?" Ms Marvel asked.

"Well in light of these recent events regarding the Equalists and this A.I.M." Lin said before sighing. "Its become clear that maybe we do need the likes of you to help in bringing them down."

"Wait is that you admitting that you like us?" Tony said with a smirk.

"Just don't okay rich boy." Lin pretty much warned crossing her arms.

"One thing though, wasn't tracking down the Equalists assigned to the Task Force?" Black Widow asked.

"Yeah the one run by that sleaze ball Tarrlok." Ms Marvel said practically saying his name out of spite.

"Well your not wrong on that kid." Surprisingly the chief did crack a smile at that. "To answer your question Widow, as I believe that Rogers said you've seen more of the world than we know. Since A.I.M is from your world you know more about them. It makes sense that we cooperate. But this isn't something I'm deciding on a whim, protecting this city is all I care about, so we don't mention our arrangement to Tarrlok and we do this on the books."

"We understand Chief, but from the sound of your voice you sound like you don't trust Tarrlok." Cap noticed.

Lin could see that it didn't take much to fool them. "Well as I told the kid with the scarf she's not wrong about Tarrlok. I know that weasel is just trying to gain power, and any so called act of heroism to stop the Equalists only divides Benders and Non you say you want to protect the balance Avatar Aang wanted for this city. Then maybe its time we do this your way. And whatever consequences come of it as Chief I'll take that responsibility."

The Avengers could see that she was taking this very seriously, especially considering what nearly happened with the Dark Terrigen. Not to mention her distrust of Tarrlok and how she takes the threat of the Equalists very seriously. Cap and Black Widow couldn't help but respect her commitment to duty and the protection of this city.

"Man she's one gutsy lady." Clint whispered to Natasha who could only nod in agreement.

"Alright so whats our first move?" Cap got up and brought their attention to a map of the city. It had been marked with red pins of certain locations in the city.

"Okay ever since what happened with the Avatar and that runaway train stunt the other day, the Equalists have gone underground, there's been no sign of them for weeks." Lin explained.

"They attracted too much attention to themselves and since we made ourselves public they're staying out of the firing line." Cap realised.

"Right, but I don't like it this means they're preparing for something." Lin said.

"Which confirms they have a main base of operations, but there maybe another reason they're laying low." Black Widow soon theorised.

"Which is?" Lin asked intrigued.

"Simple resources, if they're partnered with AIM they're likely laying low. Judging from the events on the train AIM only had one of those bombs and a limited number of weapons since being sent to this world." Natasha explained.

"Yeah and since this worlds tech is so behind ours locating the resources they need to rebuild their arsenal is gonna be tough." Iron Man agreed.

"So where does that leave us?" Ms Marvel asked.

"Well thanks to the intel that Widow provided we have a lead on several places the Equalists used a safe house." Lin explained.

"Safe houses?" Ms Marvel asked.

"After what happened with the Dark Terrigen bomb I handed Lin the intel I had while I was undercover in their ranks." Black Widow went up to the map. "Amon had a number of safe houses to hold up, so with AIM's involvement they'll be hold up in them too."

"Right but the problem is I sent my men to investigate these safe houses, and three out of four were completely empty." Lin explained.

"Decoys." Clint realised. "Set up dummy houses to divert their attention from their real hideout."

"The only one left is this one." Lin pointed to the map of a location close to the Dragon Flats Borough. "A small condemned storage area."

"Okay that screams bad guy lair." Ms Marvel guessed.

"I plan to raid it tonight but, I want to be ready if we're walking into a trap." Lin explained to the Avengers.

"Which is where we come in?" Cap guessed.

"Right we're doing this one ourselves I don't want to risk my men getting hurt if these AIM guys are as clever as you say." Lin said. "I need to know you have my back?"

The Avengers needed little convincing. "We're with you chief." Cap agreed.

Meanwhile:

Narook's Seaweed Noodlery, a small restaurant in Republic City. A place well known for its authentic Watertribe food, and for Bolin and Korra its where they would be dining tonight on their "Date" Outside Naga was laying outside at the front asleep and let out a yawn.

Inside Korra and Bolin were sat at a table in their casual attire. They were enjoying a bowl of noodles. "So, how do you like it?" Bolin asked with his mouth full.

"Hmm, it's delicious and totally authentic!" Korra said with her mouth full and enjoying her food. "I didn't realize how much I missed Water Tribe grub."

Bolin slurped up his noodles before speaking. "That's great, 'cause this is my favorite joint." He said happily. "See? You love Water Tribe food, I love Water Tribe food, just another reason we are so great together."

Korra finished slurping up her noodles before looking to Bolin. "They are good noodles! I totally need to bring Kamala here sometime."

"Yeah sounds good to me." Bolin agreed happily. However just then the Avatar noticed that someone was watching them from the back.

"Hey, who's that creepy guy over there who keeps glaring at us?"She asked.

Said person glaring at them was a bunch of guys dressed in black sitting with some girls. Their leader was a water pale skinned bender dressed in black and dark blue with dark hair and a bang went over his face. His partners looked as smug as him one had dark skin and dark hair in a similar style while the other had pale skin and neater hair.

Bolin saw who Korra was looking at. "That's Tahno and the Wolfbats, the reigning champs, three years running." He said in a rather uneasy way. "Don't make eye contact." He silently suggested. However it didn't stop Korra from glaring straight at him, and Tahno simply glared and smirked smugly.

Then moments later Bolin's worst fear was realised Tahno and his crew got up from their tables and headed over to where Korra and Bolin were sitting.

"Uh-oh, here he comes. Now don't mess with this guy, he's a nasty dude." Bolin panicked as he started eating his noodles a little intimidated.

Tahno then came over rather smug looking. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the Fire Ferrets. Pro-bending's saddest excuse for a team." He said rather tauntingly. "Tell me, how did a couple of amateurs like you luck your way into the tournament? Especially you, Uh-vatar."

Korra just spat away in disgust at his taunt. "You know, if you'd like to learn how a real pro bends, I could give you some private lessons." Tahno said in a knowing way as he leaned in close to her.

"You wanna go toe-to-toe with me, pretty boy?" Korra stood up getting right in his face.

"Go for it. I'll give you the first shot." Tahno taunted. "And if your not interested in those private lessons, I might just extend the offer to that special bending friend of yours, she's cute."

That remark really stung Korra in anger did this guy seriously threaten her friend. She clenched her fist, she was severely tempted to kick this guys butt. However Bolin didn't like the idea at all.

"Korra, don't. He's just trying to bait you." Bolin whispered to her. "If you hit him, we're out of the tournament."

The two glared each other down with Tahno smirking tauntingly at the Avatar. While Korra glared at him, she wanted to teach this guy a lesson but if she did it would get them kicked out of the tournament. Swiftly it looked like she was going to hit him but instead she simply whistled in her fingers.

Seconds later Naga's head burst through the shutter window and let out a loud roar that would even put the Hulk to shame. Tahno screamed in fright as he jumped away in fright taking everyone by surprise. Tahno just straightened himself up as he and his crew walked away from their table. Korra and Bolin just burst out laughing at the very look their rival team had on their faces. While Naga simply panted at the window.

"Whoa, ho, ho, I've never seen someone harass Tahno like that." Bolin laughed. "You are one of a kind, Korra."

Korra simply smirked at that compliment, and she felt good about it. Besides no one threatened her friend.

For the rest of the evening they were having fun, they were enjoying a couple of fizzy drinks. Suddenly Bolin let out a burp and looks at Korra ashamed. But then out of nowhere Korra just burps even louder, he smiled and so burped again louder and Korra did the same. The two shared a laugh while the other couple looked in disgust.

Hours later they went to the Harmony tower a shining tower illuminated by the lights below. Korra and Bolin admired the view from the top of the tower, the Avatar looked all around amazed by the beautiful view. Bolin just looked with a dreamy smile, he was having a great time with Korra and he was glad she was too. He was starting to see her in a new light.

Elsewhere: Dragons Flats Borough:

While Korra was having the night of her life, The Avengers were having their own night out. The night on the hunt for Equalists and a certain bobble headed villain. They arrived in the Quinjet on the outskirts of the Dragon Flats Borough. The jet landed silently and from the rear door the Avengers with Chief Beifong in tow exited.

"I'll say one thing for you guys you know how to arrive in silence." Lin admitted.

"These Quinjets are designed for stealth missions we could bust a crime empire in silence and they wouldn't see us coming." Clint explained to her.

"Eyes sharp team." Captain America warned them with his shield at the ready as they looked at their destination. A lone condemned storage house.

"It looks quiet." Black Widow noticed.

"Yeah but like they say in the movies a little too quiet." Ms Marvel was suspicious and had every right to be.

"JARVIS, run a scan of the building we need to know whats in there." Iron Man requested but then Lin stepped forward.

"No need for your magic voice rich boy." Lin simply said as she stepped forward much to the confusion of everyone.

She lifted her right leg and the sole of her boot retracted revealing her bare foot and she stomped it into the ground and what looked like radar waves surged through the ground sensing everything around them. In the building she could sense something.

"There's no one inside, but there is defiantly something in there." Lin explained to them much to their surprise.

"How'd you know that?" Iron Man asked.

"I could sense it in the ground." Lin simply said.

"What how?" Hawkeye asked questionably.

"Guess you don't know, its a trait among us Earthbenders, its something my mother developed years ago." Lin explained.

"I remember reading this in Jinora's books, your mother was blind, and she could see by sensing the ground below her." Cap noted.

"Thats right and she passed that onto me, its like seeing with our feet." Lin explained.

"A form of subterranean sonar, incredible I really gotta start taking notes." Iron Man admitted.

"I will place a reminder sir." JARVIS noted. "And Chief Beifong is correct upon scanning the area there is an object in the building but I am unable to scan its contents." It was displayed on Iron Mans hud showing what he meant.

"Well lets go see who's home." Hawkeye said readying his arrows.

So the group approached with caution they reached for the main door and opened it slowly. Widow and Hawkeye enter first, Widow with her gauntlets at the ready and Hawkeye with his arrow and bow. However the room was empty so Widow singled the rest of the team.

Cap entered first followed by Beifong, Ms Marvel and Iron man. They looked and only saw an empty storage house nothing but drapes and night lit windows. The only thing that was there was an unsuspecting drape covered object in the room.

"Empty." Widow said but was worried she never liked it when it was this quiet.

"At first glance, spread out and see if we can find any clues." Lin suggested. So they looked all around the site to see if the Equalists or A.I.M left any clues in this safe house. Ms Marvels attention was drawn on the tarp that was covering something in the room.

She moved over to the tarp but felt a little uneasy when there's only one thing in the room completely unsuspecting it meant trouble.

"Uh guys, I'm a little uneasy about this unsuspecting tarp." Ms Marvel voiced to the team.

Black Widow came over to what Ms Marvel was talking about and she had to admit even she was a little uneasy too. She moved closer as Lin came over to take a look as well. Widow moved to remove the tarp over the object. It was revealed to be nothing but crates. It seemed like relief for Ms Marvel but Widow and Lin thought other wise. So Lin extended a blade from her gauntlet and pried the crate open what they found inside put a look of horror on their faces. Something beeped and it revealed what looked like a detonator and a barrage of explosives. The detonator was costing down from five.

"This place is rigged to blow!" Widow exclaimed.

"EVERYONE OUT THIS PLACE IS GONNA BLOW!" Lin yelled. Everyone ran out of the room with Iron Man blasting off with his jets and crashed through the detonator reached zero, and the whole building exploded catapulting them away as the storage house went up in smoke.

Ms Marvel groaned as she regained consciousness from the blast. She managed to shield herself with her enlarged hands, and luckily Iron Man had created a force shield from his gauntlets protecting Widow and Hawkeye.

The shield disappeared and panels on his gauntlets retracted. "Whew, pays to have built in shields after all." Iron Man stated.

"Well lucky you Stark." Hawkeye said sarcastically.

Widow suddenly noticed there was two people still unaccounted for. "Wait where's…"

Suddenly they heard the sounds of crashing rubble, everyone looked and saw Captain America had lifted up some rubbled he'd blocked with his shield he was standing over Chief Beifong.

"You okay?" He asked as he offered the chief his hand which she took.

"Yeah takes more than that to take me down." Lin choked on some smoke as strands of her were dangling down from her head. "But I guess it helps to have a shield after all."

"Never go unprepared first thing I learned in the army." Captain America smiled. Lin couldn't help in smiling in admiration for his efforts. However they looked and saw the Equalists safe house had gone up in smoke.

"Sorry chief I guess they knew I had that intel." Widow admitted.

"Don't beat yourself up, its clear Amon knew we'd come here and when we did he'd make sure we're out of the way." Lin realised.

"And something tells me MODOK provided him with the bomb to blow it up." Iron Man realised recognising the advanced look of the bomb.

"Then it looks like we won't see Amon, A.I.M or the Equalists again until they want us to." Captain America realised as the team looked at the building that had gone up in smoke.

---

Later: Air Temple Island:

Later that night Korra had just come back from her night out with Bolin. Sure Tenzin had some complaints about her being out late but she dealt with it. So she headed back to her room. When she entered her room she found Kamala flung on her bed face upwards. She was still in her costume but without her mask. She was covered in soot.

"Whoa, Kamala you look like you just got blown up." Korra noticed seeing her soot covered face.

"Ughhhh I kinda did…Equalist safe house went boom and we nearly did." Kamala groaned.

Korra took off her sweater as she sat down on her bed. "Wow sounds like you had an eventful night." She said.

"Yeah." she said as she sat up to face her friend. "So how was your night out with Bolin?"

"Oh it went great we actually had a great time, it was really fun." Korra explained. So she told Kamala all about their night how they went out for water tribe noodles, and how she met Tahno of the Wolfbats the reining champions, and how he was an arrogant pretty boy. Kamala could see this guy was a real jerk. She explained the rest of her night at the Harmony Tower and they really enjoyed themselves.

"Wow, this Tahno guy sounds like a real jerk I can't wait till you get to duke it out in the Pro-Bending ring!" Kamala said.

"Tell me about it but yeah me and Bolin had fun." Korra said.

"Yeah great." Kamala said but it wasn't in a happy tone at all.

"Uh oh that sounds like a bit of a sad yeah great." Korra noticed.

Kamala decided to just come out with it. "Look Korra I'm glad you had a great time and all but well…After that whole thing with Mako at the ring."

"Oh I was hoping we wouldn't be talking about that." Korra groaned knowing where this was going.

"Look all I'm saying is you need to be careful, especially with the tournament going on you're basically on thin ice right now." Kamala voiced with concern. "Step on the wrong place and well."

"Kamala look I get it but Mako's already made it clear he's not into me." Korra voiced a little defensively, which took Kamala by surprise and the Avatar could see she had nearly lost her temper at her friend again.

So she knelt down to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Sorry I didn't mean that…look do you trust me?"

"Yeah of course I do." Kamala said in honesty.

"Then don't worry I got this okay?" Korra said then offering a fist bump.

Kamala smiled and then accepted the fist bump. "Okay." She smiled and so the two decided to turn in for the night. Though Kamala was deeply nervous inside, she was starting to see trouble brewing from this what started as a love triangle turned into a boat load of confusion and mixed feelings.

The Following Night:Pro-Bending Arena:

The next night came the Quarter final match for the Pro Bending championships. Outside the arena Korra and Kamala now in casual attire were walking up when they met Steve, Tony and Clint but Natasha was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey guys, where's Nat?" Kamala asked.

"Oh yeah sorry kid, after last night she said she was going to help Lin on some new leads to AIM and the Equalists." Clint explained.

"Oh right." Korra said disappointedly. Then Steve put a supportive hand on Korra's shoulder.

"Don't worry she'll listen from a radio when she can." He said understandingly which did put a smile on both their faces.

"Thanks guys." Korra said.

"Yeah good luck out there!" Tony wished them luck. So they went to take their places in the stadium while Kamala and Korra headed towards the entrance.

However when they got there, they saw Mako was sitting on the stairs leading to the entrance. Judging by the look on his face he wasn't happy. Kamala could only suspect were walking past when Mako stood up.

"What kind of game are you playing?" Mako openly asked them slightly mad.

"Uh ... Pro-bending? We've got the quarterfinal match?" Korra explained.

"No, I mean with Bolin." Mako said a little defensively "You've got him all in a tizzy and I know you're only using him to get back at me."

"What?" Kamala questioned surprised. "Thats ridiculous!"

"Yeah I'm not getting back at anyone we're just having fun together." Korra agreed defensively. "What do you care, anyway?"

"I'm looking out for my little brother. I don't want to see his heart get broken." Mako explained being defensive of his younger brother.

Kamala was about to say something but Korra beat her to it but not what she was expecting. "Wait a second ... you're not worried about him, you're jealous!" She exclaimed. "You do have feelings for me!"

"Korra!" Kamala nearly panicked she was going at it again.

"What? Jealous? Don't be ridiculous." Mako said indignantly scoffing.

"Uh hey guys." Kamala tried.

"Admit it! You like me." Korra said to which Kamala just slapped her own forehead.

"No, I'm with Asami." Mako said.

"Yeah, but when you're with her you're thinking about me, aren't you?" Korra teased.

"Guys!" Kamala tried again to no avail.

"Get over yourself!" Mako said rather angrily.

"I'm just being honest." Korra said honestly pointed at herself. Kamala was just about ready to lose her cool.

"You're crazy!" Mako yelled angrily.

"You're a liar!" Korra yelled angrily too. Finally Kamala lost it and enlarged her hands to push them apart.

"STOP! BOTH OF YOU!" She yelled. "Look just calm down! Don't make me go Embiggen on you!"

"Stay out of this Kamala!" Mako exclaimed.

"Don't talk to her like that!" Korra exclaimed to Mako.

"HEY!" Kamala yelled. "Save this for the rival team huh you gotta keep your heads in the game!"

Korra and Mako glared at each other. "Fine!" They both said before they marched into the arena through separate doors. This left Kamala breathing an exhausted sigh.

"Oh boy Kamala you've really got your hands full." She berthed to herself.

The Ring:

The next match was starting up, Steve and Clint watched from the rafters while Tony watched from the Satos box. Kamala now in her Fire Ferrets jacket was watching from the lockers.

"Eight teams have been eliminated and eight advance into the quarter finals, which get underway way tonight." Shiro Shinobi announced from the commentators box. "The rookies are about to take on the former and longest-reigning champs, the Boar-q-pines." The rival team facing the Fire Ferrets in blue lined up some of them were older looking players. From the rafters Steve could see they were experienced. "Youth clashes against experience in a battle for the ages, or rather of the ages."

The bell rings starting round one. The Boar-q-pines attack first, the water bender fires a water stream towards Mako who dissipates it while Bolin fires acouple of Earthdisks at their rival team and Korra blocked the fire attack from the fire bender with a water block.

The Boar-q-pines Fire Bender and Earth Bender launch a duel attack forcing Korra to flip to the side dodging the attack. "Korra dodges and…" Suddenly Korra accidentally crashes into Mako which gave the rival team the opening they needed. "ooh, slams right into her teammate!"

"Down goes Mako and Bolin and Korra!" One by one the Fire Ferrets went over the line as it alerted Steve and Clint cringed at what had just happened.

"Oh! Thats gonna leave a mark!" Clint said in surprise.

While in the lockers Kamala was worried, it was clear that Mako and Korra hadn't gotten through their issues and their heads weren't in the game. The bell rings announcing the end of round one.

"Round one goes to the Boar-q-pines!" The ring announcer announced and the Boar-q-pines posed in victory.

Mako was angry and turned it to Korra. "You were supposed to defend while I attacked!"

"I had an opening so I took it!" Korra argued back.

"Guys!" Kamala called from the lockers getting their attention. "What the heck is up with you two?! Get your heads in the game!"" Kamala exclaimed.

"Yeah Kamala's right guys, just pull together, guys." Bolin agreed putting his hands on his teammates shoulders as the bell sounded for round two.

The Fire Ferrets go on the offensive with Bolin launching earth disks while Mako threw fire fists. "The Ferrets looking to mount some offense here in round two." The Boar-q-pines water bender fires a water strike that hits Mako straight in the face. While the Earthbender is knocked down by Bolin's Earthdisks. Bolin is on the attack firing several Earthdisks at the rival team.

He dodges an incoming water blast and dodges an incoming fire fist then launching Earth disks with a kick and a punch.

" Bolin lets fly a flurry of attacks, he's a one-man bending battalion." Shiro Shinobi announced.

"Thats it Bolin keep on the offensive!" Kamala called to her team. The rival teams Fire bender is knocked down as he's catapulted back to zone two as the alert sound. The bell suddenly sounds.

"The Ferrets are having a rough time finding their rhythm tonight, but thanks to Bolin, they narrowly notch round two." Shiro Shinobi announced much to Kamala's relief.

---

Meanwhile: Republic City Police:

At the Police Headquarters Natasha was in a private room, she was looking at a map of the city on a wall. She was in half her uniform just the black pants and boots while her top half was a simple white vest. She was placing pins on all sites they encountered the Equalists. One at the foundry where Amon held his rally, the other at Avatar Aang Memorial Island, and at the fire at the building caused by A.I.M's use of Dark Terrigen on one of the residents.

In her experience she was hoping to find a pattern or at least something raised from the pattern. She placed a pin on all the safe houses she knew of while undercover.

She sighed as she looked at the board. "Amon hides in the shadows but A.I.M works in plane site without suspicion." She said. "So they need a base that can hide them, but provide them with resources."

She sighed as she sat down on the chair she had been going at this for some hours now. She realised she needed a break so she turned on the radio to see if she could listen in on the Pro Bending match.

"Not sure what's eating them, but this is not the same team who took out the Rabaroos." Shiro Shinobi announced on the radio. To Natasha it sounded like the Ferrets were off their game tonight, so she decided to listen for a bit.

---

Promenading Arena:

After being pummelled left and right the Fire Ferrets and the Boar-q-pines ended round two on a tie. Kamala was practically pulling her hairs out with anxiousness and worry. Steve and Clint could see that the Ferrets were out of synch, they knew from what happened the previous night there was some awkward tension between Korra and Mako. The question is could they over come it.

The bell sounded for round three and the announcer came up. "Round three is a tie! We go to a tie-breaker to decide the match."

The referee came out with a coin one side was blue and the other was red. The two teams stood opposite each other. He tossed the coin in the air and it landed on his left hand. He raised his right hand showing it had landed on the red side.

"The Fire Ferrets win the coin toss!" The ref points to the Fire Ferrets. "Which element do you choose?"

"I got this." Mako decided as he was about to step up, until Bolin stopped him.

"I know you usually handle these, but frankly, your head's not in the game." Bolin said before he stepped up to the plate. "I'm gonna take this one. We choose earth."

So the Earthbender from the rival team stepped up to the plate while the other Fire Ferrets and Boar-q-Pines stepped back. "Looks like the earthbenders will collide in the tie-breaker face-off." Shiro Shinobi announced as a platform raised up from the stadium.

"Think the kid can pull it off Cap?" Clint asked.

"He can, if he keeps his mind clear, he has the talent and skill." Steve said after seeing Bolin fighting the Equalist Lieutenant.

Bolin and the Boar-q-Pines Earthbender readied themselves and at the sound of the bell the tiebreaker round two Earthbenders fired up Earthdisks and fired them at each other only for them to collide into each other and turn to dust. The Boar-q-pines Earthbender leaped into the air while Bolin dove out of the way rolled along the ground and turned to face his opponent.

Bolin dives in a grapples his opponent while his opponent grapples back flipping Bolin over. "Bolin goes in for the grapple, Chang reverses." Bolin quickly erects an Earthdisk then out of nowhere he moves the disk in a certain way and tosses the disk right into the rival Earthbenders gut knocking him to the edge.

"Bolin strikes from midair, knocking Chang to the edge of the circle." Shiro Shinobi announced having everyone on the edge of their gasped as she recognised that move all too well, as did Steve for it was the way he tossed his shield.

There's an opening and Bolin takes advantage launching two Earthdisks at his rival and the impact catapulted him off the platform, off the ring and splash! Into the water.

"Another strike from Bolin, and Chang is in the drink!" Shiro Shinobi announced.

"YES!" Kamala cheered as the bell finally sounded announcing the end of the round.

"YES YEHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Bolin cheered as the crowd goes wild.

"The Future Industries Fire Ferrets win their quarterfinal match!" The Ring Announcer and Mako breathed a sigh of relief that Bolin managed to win them the Quarter final. However they still looked at each other in anger.

"Oh, that was a close one folks! Youth trumps experience tonight." Shiro Shinobi announced.

The team returned to the lockers and while Korra and Mako changed Kamala was the first to congratulate Bolin with a hug. "Bolin you did it! That was amazing!"

"Yeah thanks Kamala." Bolin thanked as he accepted the hug and the two broke apart.

"Where'd you learn those moves?" She then asked despite already knowing.

"Well what can I say when your saved by a guy who swings a shield you learn a few tricks." Bolin admitted humbly.

"I'll say you picked up a few tricks." Called a voice and they saw Clint and Steve enter the lockers. "Congrats out there kid."

"Hey thanks guys." Bolin thanked.

"Yes son you did good out there, and its clear your a fast learner. That was a well executed move, couldn't have done better myself." Steve congratulated.

"Wow thanks Cap coming from you thats a lot." Bolin thanked rather humbled.

"You should feel honoured kid it takes a lot to impress Captain America." Clint said flinging his arm over his shoulder.

"Hey if you ever want some training on using the shield you just let me know." Steve then offered which put a confident and happy smile on Bolin's face.

While Kamala was happy that Bolin was being praised by her fellow Avengers, she still had one other mess to sort out. As Korra put her helmet away she looked to her friend leaning on the wall with a dry look.

"You got this huh?" Kamala questioned.

"Don't Kamala just don't." Korra said rather sad as she walked away. "I need to get some air." She then walked out.

"I'm telling you your on thin ice." Kamala reminded as gently as she could.

---

Later:

After the match ended, Korra stood alone outside on the balcony looking over the sea. She had a lot of thoughts going through her head, they nearly lost the match tonight and their chances at the finals because she and Mako weren't in synch. Kamala was right she was treading on thin ice, and if she wasn't careful it could be a disaster.

Just then Mako arrived at the balcony he wanted to talk to Korra about all of this. "We need to talk." He said getting her attention but she was still a little sad. "Look, sometimes you can be so infuriating. But I…"

"Save your breath. You've already made it clear how you feel about me." Korra said rather angry and disappointed.

"No, I haven't." Mako tried to explain. "What I'm trying to say is: as much as you drive me crazy, I also think you're pretty amazing."

That last line had gotten Korra's attention, as she turned to face Mako. "So you do like me?"

"Yes, but, I like Asami, too." Mako said as he had mixed feelings about all of this. "I don't know, things are complicated. I've been feeling really confused and…."

Mako was suddenly cut off mid sentence by Korra who out of nowhere kissed him on the lips. He knew this was wrong but he returned the kiss. After a minute they broke apart but then Korra saw something behind him and looked down in shame. Mako wondered why but he turned round and saw behind him was Bolin who was holding a bouquet of flowers. But as Papa crawled down his shoulder he dropped the flowers in shock, as he had seen everything.

"Bolin, this isn't what you think!" Mako tried to explain but it was too late the damage was done Bolin sobbed up in tears and ran away. Mako turned in anger towards Korra. "Great, look at what you did!"

"You're blaming me?" Korra said rather insulted that he was blaming her.

"You kissed me!" Mako yelled furiously.

"You kissed me back!"Korra pointed furiously.

"Graahhh!" Mako grunted in anger and he just ran after his brother hoping to try and explain leaving Korra alone.

"Well played Korra." She said to herself disappointed, why would she do that she was angry at herself for what happened.

---

Not too far away Kamala was coming out of the arena with Steve, Clint and Tony. They were talking to each other when suddenly they heard the sound of sobbing. Then running by them was Bolin who was full of tears in his eyes, soon after he was followed by Mako who didn't even notice the Avengers leaving the arena.

They were caught completely by surprise. "What the heck was that about?" Clint asked.

"Oh man." Tony said as he recognised that look all too well. "I know that look, I think the kid got dumped, I should know I've seen girls with that look once before."

This put a look of shock on Kamala's face and she quickly ran away towards where the two brothers had run from. "I'll see you guys back on the island!" She called to her fellow Avengers.

She still ran as fast as she could, but deep down was praying that she was wrong about why Bolin and Mako ran away. She soon found Korra on the balcony looking disappointed in herself.

"Korra!" She called getting her attention and she saw Kamala standing there panting from all the running. "Wha..what happened I just saw Mako and Bolin but wh..why was he…" Just then she noticed the expression on Korra's face something was terrible wrong.

"Oh no whats wrong?" Kamala asked.

Korra cringed before she chose to tell Kamala everything. "Kamala…I…I kissed Mako."

"WHA!" Kamala froze at that potential freak out and tried to calm down. "Thats well interesting, ah…Korra as your friend I'm forced to ask…..WHAT THE HECK! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?"

"I..I know OKAY! I know I messed up what is wrong with me!" Korra exclaimed. "I always act without thinking, I..I don't know why I did that I..it was the heat of the moment and now I've messed everything up!" She practically hit the pillar which cracked in her anger.

To say Kamala was surprised was an understatement. "Oh boy." She sighed. "So Bolin saw it huh?" Kamala asked.

"Yes, Kamala what am I going to do?" Korra asked but Kamala's response was just a simple hug which she wrapped her friend in.

"I..I don't know, but we'll get through this okay we always do." Kamala said, she knew Korra needed this and in the moment so did she. She just embraced her friend back and hugged out her feelings.

---

The following day: Air Temple island:

The next day dawned and so did the semi final match that would decide who would move into the finals of the Pro Bending Championship.

But for Korra the tension was more than frosty. She sat on the steps of the Air Temple. She was still upset about the other night, she couldn't get over the look she saw in Bolin's eyes. She felt more guilty than ever and even more so that she's messed up her friendship with the two was looking at the view towards the Pro Bending arena in disgrace. She was so distracted by the view she didn't hear the sound of approaching footsteps.

"Hey kid." Korra looked up and saw Natasha standing above her with a cup of coffee in her hand. "Penny for your thoughts?"

Korra just sighed in frustration before she calmed down. "I'm guessing Kamala told you." She said.

"Yeah she did." Natasha said before she sipped her coffee. "You know you officially have Tony beat in crazy stunts department."

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" Korra asked.

"Not really." Natasha simply said before sighing. "Whats say we take a walk and talk." She suggested, Korra knew she needed to talk to someone, and Kamala had already left this morning early. So she got up and walked with Natasha into the air temple.

As they reached the courtyard Korra had finished her tale. "I..I don't know I thought if I confessed to Mako it would work out but. It only made things worse, and now. Gah what did I do I… not only have I messed things up with Mako but now Bolin will blame him for it." Korra hit her head in frustration. "Gah what is the matter with me?!"

"Look kid I get it this boys the first crush you've ever had, and I'm guessing being locked up in that compound for most of your childhood didn't give you much in terms of boys or dating." Natasha explained. "But if you want an expert at bad relationships just ask Stark he's got more than a few stories to share."

Korra just sighed at this before Natasha continued. "Look, I get it sometimes our emotions can get the better of us and that can lead to poor judgement." She then sighed remembering her own experiences in her past. "But what matters is how you respond and learn from it, and I know you and the boys will make things right."

They soon arrived and found themselves in the courtyard near the spinning gates. Natasha then put her coffee down and started wrapping her hands in tape.

"So is there a reason why you walked me out here other than to talk?" Korra asked.

Nat then turned to Korra. "Because kid your full of frustration and anger, so we're going to do what I always do when I'm full of it. Burn it off in a sparring match."

To say this caught Korra by surprise was an understatement. "Wait so you want me to fight you?" She asked.

"Its a sparring match I want to see what your capable off, but ground rules. No bending I want to see what you can do without it." Natasha explained. "Plus it'll help vent your anger."

The Avatar did take a moment to think and she did have some frustration to burn off. Plus it was a way she liked letting her fists do the talking.

"Alright." Korra said as she stood in a battle stance. "Lets do this."

Natasha stood in a combat stance ready for anything as the two stared each other down in a stand off. "Ready?" She asked. All was quiet and as water dripped from the plants around the courtyard the moment the drop hit.

"GO!" Natasha and Korra lunged at each other. The widow attacked first with a roundhouse kick but Korra ducked to avoid it and then threw several punches towards Natasha only for her to do the splits then do a swing kick knocking Korra to the floor.

The Avatar growled as she leaped up flipped over Natasha, threw some roundhouse kicks, punches and spin kicks, she was breathing heavily while Nat dodged her attacks but Nat didn't retaliate she just dodged her attacks then went on her tip toes and flipped over Korra and performed a roundhouse kick that knocked the Avatar to the ground. Korra couldn't believe it just how was this woman doing this? Korra tried to get up but she was pinned down by Natasha's foot.

"So you cooled off yet?" Natasha asked, after a few deep breaths Korra answered.

"Yeah I actually do." She said amazed as Natasha offered her a hand which she accepted and she was helped to her feet. "Okay I gotta ask where'd you learn to fight like that?"

"Ballet." Natasha answered.

"Whats Ballet?" Korra asked.

"Its a style of dancing, see when I was a kid I was in a dancing school, but well lets just say later in life in the Russian spy world, we were taught to turn it into something more." Natasha explained but Korra could see she was hesitant at telling her more.

"Is something wrong?" Korra asked.

"Yes its just, there's some part of my past that I don't like to think about." Natasha explained.

"Oh I see." Korra apologised. "Well thanks you've actually given me much to think about." She then walked away.

"Kid." Called Natasha getting her attention. "Don't worry about Mako and Bolin, you'll work it out just remember be patient and focus."

Korra smiled as she looked at Natasha and so she left to go prepare for tonights Pro-Bending match. The Black Widow hoped this would help her and her friends, because as she learned a long time ago a little faith is all you need.

---

Meanwhile: Pro-Bending Arena:

At the Pro Bending Arena, Kamala and Clint had arrived at the arena. Kamala felt really bad about what happened last night, and after telling the other Avengers she and Clint decided to go speak to him.

They soon entered the Gym and looked around for any sign of the bending brothers. "Bolin!" Kamala called, "Hello?" However they found the gym was empty, with no sign of anyone not even Mako or Bolin. "Huh no-ones here?"

"Hey you said they lived here right?" Clint suggested. "Maybe we should check there?" Kamala nodded at that idea.

---

Seconds later, Kamala leaped up to the roof with Clint in one giant hand while using the other to stretch up to the roof house where the brothers lived. She looked in and saw that Mako was there. She knocked on the window to get his attention. Surprised he went to open it.

"Kamala? Clint how'd you get up here?" Mako questioned.

"Well having enlarging body parts has an advantage plus stretching out too." Kamala explained.

"Yeah it was either this or scaling the walls with a rope arrow." Clint said.

"Okay onto my second question what are you guys doing here?" Mako asked.

"Well we came to see Bolin, is he here?" Clint asked.

"No I haven't seen him since…." Suddenly it dawned on Mako as to why they were here. "Wait…ugh you know about last night!?"

"Yeah we do, look I feel bad for Bolin I was hoping we could talk to him. Besides I am his friend too." Kamala explained.

"Well I haven't seen him since last night, and he won't speak to me." Mako said frustrated.

"Hey look I get it your both confused, and upset we've all been there. Look lets just talk this out with him." Clint explained as he stepped into the room. "So is there anywhere your brother would go if he wanted to be alone or just needed a place to lay low?"

Mako took a moment to think about what his brother would do, if he wanted to be alone. There were many places he could go like the Fire Lord Zuko statue outside the station. Then suddenly he had a thought.

"I think I know where he maybe." Mako realised. "Come on follow me." So Kamala entered the room while she and Clint followed Mako down the stairs.

Narook's Seaweed Noodlery:

Soon the trio had arrived at Narooks Seaweed Noodlery the very place Bolin had taken Korra on a date a couple of nights ago. "This is one of Bolin's favourite eating places, so if he's anywhere its here." Mako explained.

"Hey Korra told me about this place, it sells Watertribe grub." Kamala remembered.

So the three went in the door and looked to the restaurant owner. "Morning, Narook. My brother here?"

Narook gestured to the table behind them, and they looked to see Bolin face down on the table. It would seem he'd downed quite a lot of Noddles the night before, and even Pabu was full up and was lying in a bowl.

"Oh boy." Clint breathed not surprised. "Looks like the kid decided to drown his sorrows."

So they went over to Bolin who remained motionless. Kamala went up close and shook him. "Hey..Bolin…Bo you okay?" She asked sensitively Bolin could only groan.

Mako however wasn't so sensitive as he placed a hand on his brothers back getting his attention. "Come on. Wake up. Taking you home, bro."

Bolin just looked up at his elder brother completely dejected with hung over bags under his eyes and he sniffed his nose sobbing.

"Don't call me that. You're not my brother! You're a brother betrayer!" Bolin sobbed. "The only one I can trust anymore is Pabu!" He gestured to a rather fat Pabu who was lying in a noodle bowl. "Pabu loves me." He sobbed while said fire ferret squeaked.

"You're a mess, and we've got the biggest match of our lives tonight." Mako said rather insensitively.

"Mako!" Kamala said to him scoldingly to which Mako gave a raised eyebrow before she sat opposite his brother. "Bolin I'm really sorry for what happened no one should go through that." Kamala said.

"No no its fine its always like this people always go for the cool guy that is my brother betrayer!" Bolin sobbed.

"No its not, Bolin your a great guy your funny, your sweet, sensitive and brave." Kamala said. "I'm sure many people love that about you, and you'll find the one someday."

Bolin just sniffed at that. "She's right kid." Clint getting his attention. "Look I know its hard, but it'll be okay. You know my kids have gone through something like this before."

"Wait what you have a family?" Mako caught on that.

"Yeah, its not something I go round mentioning otherwise it wouldn't be protecting them." Clint explained. "See when I joined SHIELD Fury made arrangements so that they'd be kept safe."

"Why?" Mako asked.

"Well remember when I told you about some of the heroes back home?" Kamala said to which Mako nodded. "Well some of them wear masks because they want to protect their loved ones, I mean my family doesn't know I'm Ms Marvel well except my Abu."

Clint then turned his attention back to Bolin. "The point is my eldest daughters been right where you've been but you'll get over this because time heals all wounds, or in the heat of the moment when it comes to us."

Bolin did crack a small smile but it didn't seem to do much. "Yeah but nothing can heal a wound of betrayal!" He sobbed flinging his head on the just cringed at that as did Kamala they tried talking to him but he was too hung over to listen. So Mako did things his way.

"Okay come on lets go." He said to his brother but he just swatted his hand away.

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you, you traitor!" Bolin exclaimed angrily pointing at Mako.

Mako just looked at Clint and he knew what he was proposing. "Well guess we'll have to do this the hard way." Clint said as he picked up Bolin and flung him over his shoulders.

The latter was sobbing as he did. "Whyyyyyy!" Bolin sobbed. While Kamala picked up Pabu and cradled him in her arms and followed behind them.

"Kid word to the wise dating within the team not a good idea." Clint said to him.

"I told him dating a teammate was a bad idea!" Mako said to him in an I told you so manner.

"You're a bad idea! Put me down! Put me down!" Bolin sobbed as the trio left the resturaunt.

"Come on Bo lets get you cleaned up." Kamala said to him patting him on the shoulder heading back to the Pro-Bending ring.

The following night:

The night of the semi final match had arrived, however the mood among the Fire Ferrets was gloomy. As Korra and Kamala arrived in the locker room. Korra saw a heartbroken and dejected Bolin sitting on the bench with his back turned. Korra just looked sad with petty she went to her locker not even looking Mako in the eye as things were too awkward. The team didn't even look at each other. Kamala then knew this was going to be a difficult long night.

"You can't find two teams more evenly matched in age, size, and strength than the Fire Ferrets and the Buzzard Wasps. Believe me, I've looked!" Shiro Shinobi announced.

The two teams stepped up to the plate, the Fire Ferrets opponents were the Buzzard wasps dressed in black and brow with red lining on their suits. The Buzzard wasps looked intimidating with glaring eyes and cracking their knuckles and smirking in taunts.

"This should be a pulse-pounding semifinal, folks!" Shiro Shinobi announced but Kamala felt dreadfully nervous inside. She wasn't the only one in the stands Steve, Clint and Natasha watched with concern, and Tony in the Sato's booth was worried as well for he knew a team with tension was bad news.

The bell sounds and the match begins. The Buzzard Wasps move first leaping into their zone and launching combo attacks of Earthdisks water attacks and Fire fists. The Ferrets dodged and retaliated with their respective attacks. Mako rolls in the centre of Korra and Bolin only to recieve a blast from the Buzzard Wasps Fire bender.

"The Buzzard Wasps open with a flawlessly executed combo." Korra readies a water blast only to be knocked back by an Earthdisk knocking her back into zone two along with Mako and Bolin who were hit with a water blast and a fire fist.

"All three Ferrets take an early visit to zone two. And Mako is knocked all the way back into zone three!" Mako deflects one blast of water only to be blasted back to zone three by a huge water blast. "The Fire Ferrets have been struggling to stay alive since the opening bell. All three players are totally out of sync tonight."

Kamala just cringed in terror as Shiro Shinobi was right they weren't working together. Korra growls as she lunges with a water attack while Bolin with an enraged face fires several Earthdisks at the opposing team. Two collide and shatter to dust. Suddenly an incoming Earthdisk strikes Bolin right in the stomach pushing him back to zone three.

"Ohhh!" Kamala cringed.

"Ooh, that has got to sting!" Shiro Shinobi announced and it did for Bolin felt his stomach and he hurried to the side of the ring removed his helmet and he couldn't hold it in any more he vomits over the side.

"And Bolin loses his noodles! Literally." Shiro Shinobi announces much to the petty and disgust of Korra. Kamala just holds her hand over mouth to prevent her throwing up herself.

"Which reminds me, this match is brought to you by our sponsor, Flameo Instant Noodles! Noodliest noodles in the United Republic." Shiro Shinobi announced.

"Well thats true they do taste good." Clint said before cringing at Bolin's misfortune. "Gah dude." Nat and Steve couldn't help but look with concern if the Fire Ferrets didn't get their act together they would lose the match. Not to mention all they worked for.

While Tony had his hand over his face, while Asami and Hiroshi looked rather disgusted and surprised. "Oh boy."

"Whats wrong with them?" Asami wondered.

"I'm not sure." Hiroshi said with genuine concern.

---

In the ring the Buzzard Wasps water bender launches a water blast which Korra avoids only for a fire fist to blast her back into zone three. The green light sounds clearing the Buzzard Wasps path to advance.

"The Buzzard Wasps fly deeper into Ferret territory." The Fire Ferrets try to retaliate with fire fists, earth disks and water blasts but the Buzzard Wasps took full advantage of their lack of teamwork. As Mako repels a fire blast and dodges an earth disk and water blast another earth disk blasts him off the edge and into the pool.

"And Mako plunges into the pool! Can the Fire Ferrets hold on?" Shiro Shinobi announced and Kamala just grimaced at the Ferrets chances now as did her fellow Avengers.

Korra and Bolin are still standing but are being backed to the edge by a flurry of attacks by their opponents. "The Wasps have the Ferrets backed up to the edge now." Thankfully they were saved as the bell for the end of the round sounded.

"... and the Ferrets are bailed out by the bell! They had better pull themselves together for round two, otherwise they can kiss the finals goodbye."

Bolin and Korra sighed in relief while their opponents went back to their zones looking smug while Mako was returning to the ring via the lift from the pool.

The bell for round two sounded. "Come on guys get it together!" Kamala called to them.

However instead of getting better it got worse for the dysfunctional team. The Fire ferrets attack with their respective bending and the Buzzard Wasps countered with their own. Two Earthdisks blasted Mako back to zone two. Infuriated he let lose a fire blast which accidentally hit Bolin in the back catapulting him to the ground.

"Oh no!" Clint cringed from the rafters while Steve and Nat looked more concerned than ever.

"Hey! Watch it" Bolin exclaimed but that left him open to be blasted by the rival teams water bender and rolled right off the edge and into the pool.

"The Wasps take advantage of Mako's unforced error and Bolin is in the pool!" Shiro Shinobi announced as Bolin screamed and splashed into the pool.

This put an enraged look in Korra's eyes as she started getting carried away with her water bending she blasted one Buzzard Wasp from above, below and slammed her into the ground like a bouncing ball.

"Korra what are you doing!" Kamala screamed knowing this wasn't the way to play.

"Ooh, and a blatant hold by the Avatar!" Shiro Shinobi announced which caused a whistle blow from the referee.

"Unnecessary roughness! Move back one zone!" The ref announced which made the crowd groan in sadness.

"I'll unnecessarily rough you up!" Korra yelled as she fired a water blast right at the referee which earned her a yellow fan from the ref.

"And the Avatar is slapped with the yellow fan. The Ferrets are their own worst enemy right now." Shiro Shinobi announced as Korra spat her tongue out as she moved back a zone. "It's just sad to watch."

In the stands the three Avengers there couldn't stand watching. "Man this is turning into a massacre." Clint groaned.

"They're letting their emotions get the better of them its becoming their downfall." Natasha saw and hoped that Korra had taken her advice to heart but clearly it wasn't registering with the boys.

Kamala couldn't stand this any longer, she knew it was time to knock some sense into her teammates heads. So she called out to the referee.

"Ref can I have five minutes with my team please!" She called out and the ref blew a whistle for a time out.

"And there's a bell for a time out requested by the Fire Ferrets." Shiro Shinobi announced much to the surprise of said team."With the Buzzard Wasps leading two rounds to zilch, the Ferrets' only hope of winning is with a knockout."

Soon Kamala joins her team on the ring and immediately started scolding her team. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!" She exclaimed. "Get your heads in the game guys your supposed to be a team!"

"Well I don't know if you've noticed Kamala we're not acting like one!" Mako said to her but he knew she was right they weren't acting in synch and they were close to losing the semi final match. "Well I guess there's always next year." He finally admitted.

Korra and Kamala were both taken by complete surprise at what he'd just said. "W..what so thats it your just gonna quit!"

"Come on! We still have a chance, even if it is a slim one!" Korra agreed.

"The way we're playing, we don't even deserve to be in the finals." Bolin said downhearted and angry at himself.

By this stage Kamala had just about had enough of this. "Oh boo hoo!" she said aloud taking her teammates by surprise. "Just listen to you guys are you talented pro-benaders or a couple of whining babies! Look I know there's a lot going on with you all right now and I don't know if there's a way to resolve it, but if you quit now you'd just be throwing away all you've worked for." Kamala told them and Korra with her team listened intently. "I mean look at those people some of them thought you rookies wouldn't be able to make it this far but you proved them wrong, but if you give up now you'll never be able to forgive yourselves." Kamala's mood then changed. "So you either get your acts together now or so help me I will toss all three of you into the drink myself! YOU GOT IT!"

That made the three Ferrets wince at that attitude change in their friend. However Korra knew she was right. "Kamala's right guys, and I know I can't undo whats been done we're a team and we've come so far we can't quit now."

Mako and Bolin took what their two friends and teammates said to heart. Though their feelings were hurt from recent events, they'd come so far in the tournament and just weren't ready to throw it all away.

"Let's just get this over with." Mako finally said as they headed to the start.

"The sooner, the better." Bolin agreed grimly as he followed.

"Okay guys get out there and take the sting out of these Buzzard Wasps!" Kamala then said encouragingly, but deep down she was nervous. She looked at Korra who had a simililar look in her eyes but did give a slight smile knowing she was glad Kamala did that. So as the polymorph Avenger left the stage Korra stepped up to the plate.

Though things were grim and Korra looked at her teammates with a grim look the bell sounded signalling the start of round three. It was all or nothing. The Avatar quickly dodged an incoming earth disk as the Buzzard Wasps were determined to score the win. WIth a lash of attacks, Mako was being battered by water and fire blasts while Bolin took a volley of water blasts and Earthdisks pushing them back to zone two.

"Bolin's knocked into zone two, followed quickly by his brother!" Shiro Shinobi announced as the two bending brothers glared at their opponents. The Buzzard Wasps Earth Bender fires two earth disks towards Bolin and one hits him square in the shoulder causing him to cry out in pain as he pushed to the side.

"And Bolin takes a zinger to the shoulder! Looks like it's a clean hit." Shiro Shinobi announced.

"Oh no!" Kamala cried in shock. While in the stands Clint, Natasha and Steve were shocked to see this move.

"HEY I CALL FOUL REF!" Tony cried out not liking that stunt at all, while Hiroshi and Asami were all but concerned.

"OOWWWW!" Bolin cried out holding his shoulder.

Mako narrowly dodged a fire blast before seeing his injured brother. "Bolin!" He cried only to be blasted right off the edge by a fire blast and landed into the pool.

Bolin looks in horror to see his brother knocked out and despite his injury he gets up and still tries to keep playing, with a look of determination. "Mako's in the drink and out of the match. And Bolin keeps playing with one good arm! I gotta hand it to him, this kid's got grit! But how long can he keep it up?" Shiro Shinobi asked and Steve had to admire Bolin's spirit as did Clint and Nat.

However the optimism was short lived as Korra continued to dodge the Buzzard Wasps fire blasts and water blasts Bolin tried firing earth disks. However the Buzzard Wasps were quick to take advantage and with one Earthdisk from their combo attacks tripping up Bolin and a water blast from their water bender he was blasted out of the ring and into the pool.

"Apparently, not very long." Shiro Shinobi said as Korra was the only one left standing, and tried to dodge the Wasps incoming attacks. She launched counters with her water bending. "The Ferrets' dream of making it to the finals now rests in the Avatar's hands. But with three on one, I don't like her odds."

Natasha watched from the stands as things began to get intense. "Come on kid you got this." She said to herself.

---

Down below Bolin had managed to pull himself painfully out of the water, despite his injury. Just then a helping hand was offered and he looked to see his brother kneeling down offering his help smiling. Bolin smiles in return and accepts his help as his brother pulls him out of the water.

"Are you okay? How's your shoulder?" Mako asked his brother in concern.

"Ahh, it's messed up pretty bad." Bolin cringed trying to feel his shoulder. "But I think I'll be all right."

The two of them stood on the lift which took them up back to the lockers in the ring. There was some awkward silence between the two of them. However they decided it was time to clear the air.

"Are we gonna be all right?" Bolin asked.

"Of course we are." Mako said sincerely. "We're brothers. We'll get through this mess. I'm sorry."

"Me too." Bolin said before he chuckled. "You know Clint was right, time does heal all wounds, or the heat of the moment."

"Tell me about it." Mako agreed with a smile.

"But seriously girls." Bolin then said.

"Seriously." Mako agreed unaware that when the lift reach the top a certain polymorph was standing behind them.

"Kamala's behind us isn't she." Bolin guessed with shrunken eyes.

"Yep." Mako said.

"Yeah I am." Kamala said a little offended by what they said, but was glad they made amends. However in that moment their eyes were drawn to the match, it seems Korra was still standing.

Korra was dodging the attacks but wondered how she could turn the tide, then in that moment she remembered something. She noticed how the Buzzards were scattered and with the right moves it could turn in her favour.

"Patience and focus." Korra remembered and so she fire water blasts at her opponents while dodging incoming Earthdisks, fire blasts and water blasts from the Wasps.

"What an unbelievable effort here by Korra! She's dodging every element the Wasps throw at her!" Shiro Shinobi announced excitedly.

Korra flipped and dodged incoming water attacks then fired a water blast at the Wasps Fire Bender and blasts her back to zone three. The Earthbender launches an attack with some earth disks. Korra suddenly performs a split then spins on her hand and dodges the attacks.

From the stands the three Avengers watched intently. "Yeah you go Korra!" Clint cheered.

"She's back on track!" Steve said proudly.

Natasha could see she was using what she'd learned from the training earlier. She had heeded her words well. "Thats the way kid." She said proudly.

Tony, Asami and Hiroshi watched from their personal box and saw how Korra was still couldn't help but admire her determination to not give up, and Tony was very impressed as he could see Kamala's little pep talk had paid off.

"The Avatar finally gains some ground, but with only ten seconds remaining, it might be too little too late!" Shiro Shinobi announces as the clock is ticking.

"Come on Korra you can do it!" Kamala cheered.

Korra made her move she launched a water blast to the rival water bender moving him to the centre, and he was right where she wanted him. The time was now. With one blast of water she hit all three Buzzard Wasps like a line of dominos and they were blasted into the pool below and the bell sounded the Fire Ferrets had triumphed.

"It's the big kibosh! What a knockout!" Shiro Shinobi yelled excited.

The crowd went wild cheering for the victors of the match, and in the stands Clint raised his hands cheering for the team and Steve cheered out as well even Natasha couldn't help but get in on the cheering as the Sato's private box Tony was on his knees cheering while Asami bounced in joy as she hugged her dad who just smiled.

---

In the lockers Mako, Bolin and Kamala cheered with pride and joy to see their friend had won the match.

"Yes! She did it!" Bolin cheered with one arm.

"Yes yeah!" Mako cheered.

"Yeah thats my girl!" Kamala cheered and wolf whistled as well.

---

Korra waved to the crowds who cheered for her victory. "It didn't seem possible, folks, but the Fire Ferrets are headed to the finals!" Shiro Shinobi announced with pride.

"YES!" Kamala cheered. "We did it!" The brothers cheered as they all shared a hug bouncing up and down in the air. Kamala's hands were enlarged as she hugged them. Suddenly Bolin groaned in pain remembering he was still injured.

"Shoulder! Shoulder!" Bolin cried prompting his brother and Kamala to let go.

"Sorry." Mako apologised.

"Yeah so sorry." Kamala apologised as well.

Korra soon joined her teammates in the locker and Kamala wasted no time hugging her best friend in celebration. "Korra you did it that was amazing!" She said excitedly as Korra returned the hug.

"That, was pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen." Bolin agreed as Korra took off her helmet.

"Thanks for not giving up on us." Mako agreed with a smile. "We never would have made it this far without you, both of you. I owe you. Big time."

"Your welcome." Korra said humbly. "But I can't take all the credit, we did have a pretty good coach spurring us on." She said looking at Kamala while ruffling up her hair and she just laughed.

"Well I've been told I give a pretty good speech when I'm mad at people." Kamala said humbly.

"Yeah but all the same Kamala you reminded us of why we were doing this, so thanks." Mako said to her.

Kamala just smiled at that comment. Korra then had something she needed to say. "So..listen guys I…I'm sorry for everything and I know things are confusing right now, but I hope we can still be friends?"

"Defiantly." Mako smiled.

"You bet." Bolin agreed. Kamala smiled knowing that her friends had finally made amends.

However the mood was then spoiled as just then entering the lockers was Tahno and the Wolfbats in their Pro-Bending uniforms which were black with white linings and sported belts in their respective elements.

Tahno sniffed the air and gave a disgusted moan. "Ooh, oof. You boys smell something in here? Wait, I know what that is; yeah, that's the scent of losers." He said looking smug and noticed the Fire Ferrets supporter/coach.

"Ah and let me guess you must be the Uhvatars special bending friend?" Tahno said.

"Thats Avatar to you." Kamala glared. "So let me guess you must be this pretty boy jerk I've heard so much about."

"Oh I never knew she thought so highly of me, you know I did offer private lessons to her, and since she didn't want any little lady would you be interested." Tahno smirked, Korra was close to pummelling this jerk in the face until Kamala beat her to it.

She enlarged her hand and just put it in front of the arrogant Wolfbats face which did spook him a little. "Talk to the enlarged hand pretty boy cause the face ain't listening." She said standing her ground.

The Fire Ferrets glared with the same hate and distain in their eyes as they stood by Kamala. "Yeah I hope we see you in the finals. Then we'll know who the losers really are. Because when you mess with the Fire Ferrets you're gonna get burned."

"Hope you guys are ready to get your wings clipped." Kamala then added glaring.

Tahno just smirked at the group smugly as he joined his team on the platform. "Yeah, I'm peeing my pants over here." He said sarcastically as he put on his helmet.

"And now, the defending champs, the White Falls Wolfbats!" The announcer announced as the team moved to the ring.

Korra just growled at the arrogant smug Wolfbats. Kamala had to admit that smug jerk reminded her a lot of some bullies she had back at school, not to mention arrogant villains like Loki.

"Your right that guy is a jerk." Kamala glared as her hand shrunk down.

"I gotta say Kamala you really stuck it to him!" Bolin admired. "Just as good as Korra."

"Eh I'm a New Yorker and we Jersey girls know how to handle jerks like that." Kamala said with her hands on her hips and a cocky smile.

"Thats for sure." The team looked towards the door and saw Tony, Steve, Natasha and Clint standing in the doorway as Asami run past them and embraces her boyfriend in a hug.

"Great job!" Asami congradulated, then looked to Korra as she embraced her boyfriend. "What a comeback, Korra. I've never seen a hat trick like that."

"Well thats our Korra, she's full of surprises." Kamala said elbowing the latter.

"Thanks!" Korra thanked as she approached the two. "But, if it hadn't been for you and your father, we wouldn't have had the chance to play. So thank you."

"Its the least I could do." Asami thanked.

"She was right to, after tonight we've seen a lot of potential in you." Steve complimented. "Congratulations to all of you."

"Thanks Steve that means a lot." Mako thanked.

"Its well earned kid, a lot can happen when you're patient and focused." Natasha said as she silently smiled at Korra who smiled and nodded in return.

"I gotta say kid you really lined'em up and knocked them down, quite literally." Tony complimented.

"Uh, if everyone's done with the little "thank you and congratulations" party, need some medical attention over here." Bolin complained as he took part of his uniform off over his shoulder which was bruised red.

Clint took a look as did Natasha. "Thats a pretty nasty hit you took Bolin." Natasha looked at his wound.

"Yeah it felt nasty!" Bolin groaned.

"Hey in our line of work thats a badge of courage." Clint added with a smile.

"And despite everything you kept going, and thats what counts, you did good Bolin." Steve complimented.

"Thanks gah!" Bolin cringed in pain as Natasha further examined his wound as the game kept playing.

"Hold on let me take a look." Korra offered as she sat next to Bolin and Natasha moved out of the way.

Korra placed her hands on Bolin's shoulder and he cringed in the pain. "OWWW!Gah are all women trying to hurt me!" Bolin couldn't help but snicker at that statement only for Asami and Kamala to elbow him.

"Relax, I'm a healer!" Korra assured as she water bent some water out of a bucket that was conveniently next to Bolin. As it floated in her hands it glowed. "I learned from Katara, the best there is."

She placed the glowing water blob on Bolin's shoulder and moved it around the wound. He felt some pain as it was applied. "No, no, oh- ooh! That's the stuff!" He said starting to relax.

"Wait so Waterbenders can heal people?!" Kamala said amazed.

"Yeah but only a few can, and it doesn't work on all wounds." Korra explained.

"Amazing." Tony breathed amazed. "Okay I officially need to start taking notes, cause when we find Bruce he's gonna go into full on science overdrive about this stuff."

"I hear that." Kamala chuckled. However Korra couldn't help but feel some guilt in her about what happened the other night.

"Bolin, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings." Korra apologised. "I didn't mean to let things get so out of hand."

"Ahh, I'll be all right. But we had fun together, didn't we?" Bolin smiled humbly.

"I had a great time, honestly! You are one of a kind, Bolin." Korra smiled at him.

"Please, go on. I enjoy praise." Bolin said enjoying the spotlight.

"Yeah well the next time you guys go out for watertribe grub you better let me come along." Kamala smirked with her arms crossed.

"Its a deal as long as you bring me along to exploding safe houses." Korra smirked back.

"Hey you know what guys." Tony suggested an idea. "Whats say we all go out tonight and celebrate?"

"Thats a great idea!" Asami agreed. "My treat."

"I'm in." Mako agreed cuddling his girlfriend.

"All in." Clint agreed then looked to Natasha and Steve.

"A team should celebrate their accomplishments together, so I think we should celebrate." Steve agreed.

"I'm all for it." Natasha agreed.

However they were then interrupted by something they didn't expect. "Your winners, the Wolfbats!" Called the announcers.

However this took the whole team by surprise a match would never be over this quick. "What?" Kamala said in surprise.

"How is it over already?" Korra asked as she, Kamala and Bolin headed over to the edge to see what was going on.

"With a brutal round one knockout, the defending champs secure their spot in the finals." Shiro Shinobi announced, while said Wolfbats were soaking in all the cheers from the crowds.

Far below however the rival team was being pulled out of the water by doctors. Two members of the team were lay on stretchers, one of them had a black eye and a hole through their helmet.

"I hope the Ferrets know a good doctor, 'cause they're gonna need one!" Shiro Shinobi finished announcing.

Korra, Mako, Bolin and Kamala looked with complete shock, astonishment at how quick their future opponents managed to beat the rival team. In all honesty they did feel a little intimidated and afraid by this revelation. Kamala couldn't help but gulp at this. Have the Fire Ferrets bitten off more than they could chew?

Air Temple Island:

In Air Temple island all was quiet and peaceful as the full moon hung over the island. In the courtyard, Jinora was reading her book peacefully while Ikki and Meelo were scooting around the courtyard on air scooters. The two were laughing and enjoying themselves when suddenly.

*CRASH!* The whole ground shook below their feet causing Ikki and Meelo to tumble to the ground off their air scooters. They all wondered what that noise was so the three children hurried to where it came from.

Inside Tenzin felt the tremor as well as did Pema as they came into the hallway. "Pema are you alright?" He asked his wife in concern.

"I'm fine Tenzin, and so is the baby." Pema assured as she felt her stomach. "But what was that?"

"I'm not sure." Tenzin said.

"Daddy!" called a voice Tenzin knew that voice was from Jinora. So he quickly hurried outside.

---

In the outskirts of the temple he found his children standing in front of what looked like a crater. The White Lotus guards soon arrived on the scene and stood in a bending stance ready for anything.

"Jinora! Meelo! Ikki!" called Tenzin as he hurried over to his children. "What are you three doing here? Are you okay?"

"Yes we're fine but…" "There's a man down there!" Ikki interrupted Jinora. They looked and saw something coming out of the crater.

First signs showed it looked pretty large, then suddenly after a growl and a groan it shrunk down to more human size. The smoke cleared and emerging from the crater was a man, he was bare chested, brown hair and wore purple shorts and had brown eyes. Tenzin was shocked how could this man do this, but then his eyes were drawn to a certain 'A' symbol on his shorts.

Authors Notes: Whew well that wraps up that chapter folks, The Fire Ferrets are in the tournament and wouldn't you know it, theres a surprise guest at the end. Now I will admit, I was having some difficulties on how the Avengers would fit into this chapter, but then I realised while Kamala would be trying to do some damage control as regards the love triangle or whatever it is. Cap, Widow and Clint could deliver their own thoughts on the matter. While at the same time helping Lin track down A.I.M and the Equalists.

Well onto the next chapter, which will be the Finals of the championship and who knows it could be one of Hulking luck it maybe here sooner than you think. Until next time.
