The Avengers: The Avatar Saga: Book 1 Air: Chapter 8: 7: And The Winner Is, a Legend of Korra + Avengers Assemble Crossover fanfic

Authors Notes: And here we go with the next chapter folks. And as regards my other stories I apologies for the long delay but after my work placement ended mid January, I've had a bit of a writing block and needed a break. But I'm back and buzzing with creativity. Now we move to the Pro Bending finals, I decided to do this chapter sooner as I couldn't wait to start work on it. So without further delay lets begin.

Chapter VII:

And the Winner Is…

The night over Republic City was one of great celebration. For with Avatar Korra and Kamala's help the Fire Ferrets Mako and Bolin were now in the Finals for the Probending Championship. Despite the odds against them as they were up against the reigning champs Tanho and the Wolf Bats who from first glimpse were fierce competition.

For now they celebrated compliments of Asami Sato who treated them and the Avengers to a night at Kwong's Cuisines.

Air Temple Island:

The group had just arrived at Air Temple Island after parting ways with the Bending brothers and the beauteous girl.

"Whoa that meal was good I'm stuffed!" Clint said feeling his stomach.

"Yeah Mako was right that place is the best restaurant in town." Kamala agreed. "I better burn off some calories or I won't fit into my costume anymore."

"Don't you just stretch it out?" Korra joked.

"Yeah don't go into that Korra me, Nat and Kamala got into a prank war over it." Tony cracked which did make everyone laugh.

"Uh guys." Natasha then directed the teams attention to the rather large crater close to the temple. An air of caution was among the group but quickly turned to horror as they thought something bad had happened to Tenzin and his family.

The group hurried to the temple and busted through the doors. "Tenzin!" Korra exclaimed as the team hurried inside and looked around but there wasn't any sign of a struggle.

"Pema! Ikki! Meelo! Jinora!" Kamala called out also but no response.

"Korra, everyone." A familiar voice got their attention. They looked to the dining room and saw Tenzin was standing there.

"Tenzin!" Korra exclaimed as they went to him. "What happened whats that large crater outside? Is everyone okay?!"

"Its alright Korra, we're all okay and to answer your first question." Tenzin then looked to the Avengers. "Steven I believe a friend of yours and your fellow Avengers is here to see you."

This had gotten the Avengers attention and went into the dining room, only to find a certain Gamma scientist dressed in spare airbender robes. He was enjoying a meal that Pema had made him said host was sitting at the table with him. Just then he looked and saw his fellow Avengers.

"Oh hey guys." Bruce greeted simply.

"Bruce!" Kamala beamed with joy as she ran over and pulled Bruce into a hug a rather tight one.

"Ow ribs ribs!" Bruce chuckled as he hugged Kamala back despite the pain he was feeling.

"Sorry its just your here and your okay!" Kamala breathed in relief.

"Yeah I gotta say Bruce you're a sight for sore eyes." Tony chuckled.

"Look who's talking Tony." Bruce said standing up as he greeted his fellow Avengers.

"All the same its good to see you here Bruce." Steve greeted with a hand on his shoulder. Natasha gave a smile of relief to know that her friend was okay.

"But what's with the monk look you trying a new calming method?" Clint joked.

Bruce just chuckled at that joke. "Well its better than what I've had to make do with." He then noticed the Avatar in the room.

"Oh and this must be Avatar Korra." Bruce greeted with a handshake.

"You know me?" Korra asked as she accepted the handshake.

"Yeah Tenzin told me a lot about you." Bruce explained given upon his arrival, Tenzin had to brief him on the circumstances of his fellow Avengers.

"Well its great to meet you Kamala told me about you too." Korra said rather friendly. "Oh and about the whole thing where you lose control and turn into a psycho green rage monster."

Bruce was quiet for a moment before he responded. "Thanks…I think." Kamala looked a little sheepish about all that part.

"Bruce where have you been how did you get here?" Natasha then asked considering they searched the city and beyond for him.

Bruce sat down at the table before he began his story. "Well…its a little blurry I don't quite remember it all…"

Flashback:

All fades to reveal a large mountain forest laying several miles away from the boarder with the Earth Kingdom. Suddenly a bright light shone from above and shooting down came a loud roar and was sent crashing to the ground with a loud slam. Smoke emerged and crawling out of the crater was The Hulk who looked dazed. He tried to walk but he ended up collapsing to the floor and reverted to Bruce.

"After I changed back I found I was in a forest, no way of knowing how I got there or what happened to everyone else."

Bruce began walking through the forest trying to find a way out of it. After hours of walking through the forest he soon arrived at what looked like a track road. He walked slowly and grew night fell he had to stop and make camp, making what crude shelter he could find in the forest using tree branches to make a hut, and even made a small campfire.

"I had to set up camp for several nights, I had no food, so I had to make do." The following morning Bruce was on the road again, heading North. Many days later he soon found a horizon ahead. He was now wearing baggy clothes in brown and green.

"I kept moving along the road and met a traveling caravan who were more than happy to give me some clothes. It took a while but I soon arrived at the city." Bruce was now looking on the overlook of Republic City, and with a smile of relief he headed into the city.

"I found refuge in the slums area, and I met a rather unusual acquaintance." Bruce was soon in the slums under the city and he sat in a corner. Soon he was joined by the same homeless man that Korra and Kamala had met when they first arrived in the city. "He provided me with food, which while disgusting was rather filling. And he told me much of this world and of course about the Avatar."

The homeless man provided Bruce with a strange looking noodle soup which at first he found disgusting to his tastebuds. However he was able to get past that and enjoy a meal.

Some days later as Bruce sat close to the wall, when suddenly he overheard a radio broadcast from the radio in the slums. "Some days later I overheard a broadcast about the Avengers, and knew I wasn't the only one who made it. So I began to make my way to you."

The following days, Bruce was walking through the city to try and find the location of his fellow Avengers so he wanders the streets and stopped at some stalls. He was asking about the Avatar and the Avengers.

"I asked around the city and they directed me to somewhere called Air Temple Island." The local answered Bruce's question and directed him to the island. To get there he went down a back alley to make his way to the harbour.

"I was directed down an alley way but lets say I…ran into some unsavoury characters." Bruce was nearly at the end of the alley when suddenly he was greeted by what looked like another crime triad of the city.

"I tried to negotiate with them but well.." The triad threatened Bruce and he tried to reason with them. However one just pushed him back and another punched him to the ground. It was clear Amon had reached them too, as they had yet to use their bending. The earth bender just proceeded to kick him to the ground. Bruce breathed heavily as the triad laughed and taunted the venerable man, but what they didn't know was, that was their first mistake.

"…It got…messy." Bruces eyes opened and they were bright green. Moments later a loud roar bellowed from the alley and the Triad benders were flung from the alley and sent crashing into a wall. Something climbed the walls and leaped from the building. It looked out and saw Air Temple island ahead of him. With one big bound he leaped over the sea and towards the island.

Present day:

"And well thats what brought me here." Bruce finished his story as he awaited his fellow Avengers response.

"Wow, that explains the large crater outside." Korra said amazed.

"Yeah Hulk always was one for making a mess." Tony joked.

"Yes and when I saw he bore your symbol, I helped him inside and provided him with clothing." Tenzin explained as Pema brought in some tea for him.

"And food the poor man looked like he hadn't eaten in days." Pema explained as she handed him the tea.

"Thank you." Bruce thanked as he took a sip of tea.

"Well at least your here now Bruce, thats all that matters. Now all we need to do is locate Thor. Did you see him?" Steve then asked.

"I wish I could Steve, but I never saw any sign of him." Bruce explained much to their disappointment.

"Its okay I'm sure he'll turn up eventually." Korra tried to give some positivity, to which the Avengers had to agree with that statement.

"So what else have I missed?" Bruce then asked.

"Its a…long story." Kamala smiled and so they spent the night filling Bruce in on everything from, the Pro-Bending matches to the Equalists, A.I.M and everything else that followed.

The Following day:

The next morning dawned as the sun shone over the Pro-Bending the Fire Ferrets it was a big day. For the night of the Pro-Bending finals had finally come. They now face the current champions The Wolfbats, lead by Tahno. For Korra this was a match she was waiting for.

In the training Gym music played from the radio, as the three Fire Ferrets trained for the levitates two earth disks which he punches towards forwards followed by Mako with several fire fists and fire arcs from his foot. Korra made a blob of water from the tank and fired it forwards.

Their targets were glamour shots of Tahno, which had silly faces drawn on. Compliments of Bolin and Kamala. The earth disks tor through the first picture, the fire fists incinerated the second and the water blasts took off a large portion of the picture.

"Yes!" Korra cheered in triumph. Pabu meanwhile was enjoying a nice sleep next to the radio.

"You're listening to "The Music Hour"! Brought to you by Cabbage Corp, Republic City's trusted name in technology for over fifty years." The announcer sounded as the music played.

"Nice guys, way to sock it to em!" Kamala cheered in support now in her Fire ferrets jacket.

"Man, I got a good feeling about tonight." Korra agreed in an upbeat attitude as she reached for a towel while the bending brothers kept practicing. "I don't care if we are the underdogs. We can take those pompous Wolfbats."

"It's going to be our toughest match ever, but I think you're right." Mako agreed as he took off his helmet.

"Of course she's right, oh I can't wait to see the look on Tanho's face when we knock him and his cronies off their throne!" Kamala said excitedly.

"You got that right!" Bolin agreed flinging his arms over his brother and Kamala's shoulders. "Introducing your new champs, the fantastic Fire Ferrets!"

"Yeah! The crowd loves them!" Kamala cheered as well.

"Glad to see your excited." Called a voice and stepping into the gym was Bruce Banner still in his Airbender attire.

"Bruce hey." Kamala greeted as he came over.

"So these are the famous Fire Ferrets." Bruce greeted. "Glad to finally meet you."

"Oh Mako, Bolin this is Bruce Banner, he's one of the Avengers Kamala told us about." Korra introduced.

"Nice to meet you sir Kamala's told us a lot about you." Mako greeted with a handshake which Bruce accepted.

"Nice to meet you too oh and call me Bruce." simply said with a smile.

"Hold up." Bolin said getting their attention. "This is the Hulk? The big scary monster who could beat up bad guys?! I could beat him up?!"

"Bolin!"Mako said thinking his brother was being rude.

"No no its alright, its not the first time. But if its okay could we not talk about well…him." Bruce assured. "But don't worry it takes a lot more can that to make me angry."

"Oh right sorry." Bolin said with great regret over what he'd said. "Uh quick question what happens when he gets angry."

"Oh well anger makes…" Before Kamala could answer that question the radio turned from music to static. What came next they couldn't have expected.

"Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon." This voice immediately got Korra's attention and everyone else. It had been weeks since they'd last heard one of Amons broadcasts and now he's back. "I hope you all enjoyed last night's pro-bending match, because it will be the last." The voice scared Pabu away from the radio as he ran up to Kamala's shoulder, as Mako and Bolin came over. "It's time for this city to stop worshiping bending athletes as if they were heroes." Kamala and Bruce didn't like where this was going nor did Mako as he looked at Bolin and Korra. "I am calling on the council to shut down the bending arena, and cancel the finals, or else there will be severe consequences."

Kamala responded by enlarging her fist and used it to smash the radio and table to splinters as she breathed in anger. "How's that for consequences." She breathed angrily.

"Next time just turn it off." Bruce then pointed out.

"Man that guys got a lot of nerve!" Bolin growled.

"Don't let him get to you, but it looks like Nat was right he would re emerge sooner or later." Bruce realised.

"But why the Pro-Benading arena?" Kamala asked.

"Simple if he targets a source for bending entertainment he's essentially sending a message." Bruce theorised.

"You think the council will give in?" Mako wondered, knowing that Amon wasn't one to make idle threats.

"I'm not waiting to find out. We need to get to City Hall." Korra decided, as Kamala and Bruce nodded in agreement.

The group hurried out of the Pro Bending arena now in their casual attire and mounted Naga. Bruce was still amazed by the Polar Bear dog but this wasn't the time for idling. Naga rode away from the arena and just as they approached the city. Coming down from above was the Quinjet and the back door opened to reveal Black Widow and Captain America standing in the gangway.

"You kids going our way?" Widow called to them.

"Yeah so I'm guessing you guys heard it too?" Korra called knowing there would be only one reason the Avengers would be here in their mode of transport.

"Hard not to. Get in." Widow called to them.

"Naga! Jump!" Korra commanded and with one bound Naga leaped into the Quinjet with the door shutting behind them.

"Whoa you guys turn up in the strangest of places." Bolin said amazed.

"Welcome to my world kid." Bruce chuckled.

With the Quinjets immense speed, they quickly arrived at City Hall under seven seconds. The jet soon landed, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Korra, Mako, Bolin, Bruce and Ms Marvel exited the jet.

Captain America pushed the doors to the council room open, and said council men Tenzin included noticed the arrival of the Avengers, The Avatar and their friends.

"Avengers, Korra, you shouldn't be here. This is a closed meeting." Tenzin said to them.

"Apologies for the interruption councilmen but we need to talk." Captain America addressed.

"Caps right and as the Avatar and a pro-bending player, I have a right to be heard. You can't cancel the finals." Korra addressed.

"I know winning the championship means a lot to you." Tenzin said calmly. "But as far as I'm concerned, we need to shut the arena down."

"So wait thats it one empty threat over the radio is all it takes?" Ms Marvel argued. "Amon could be bluffing for all we know."

"Be that as it may Kamala we can't take any chances, Amon and the Equalists have clearly shown themselves as a hostile threat, and if this AIM is involved the risk is too great and peoples lives could be at risk." Tenzin pointed his argument.

"What about the rest of you? Tarrlok, there's no way you're backing down from Amon, right?" Korra looked to the water tribe councilman.

"Actually, Tenzin and I agree for once." Tarrlock said rising from his chair, much to the surprise of everyone else. However Widow could see through this all too well indeed.

"The council is unanimous. We're closing the arena." Tenzin agreed.

"No!" Mako exclaimed.

"You can't!" Bolin exclaimed also.

Captain America then stepped forwards. "With all due respect Tarrlok I am rather surprised by your decision. Since you seemed committed to stopping the Equalist's."

"Yeah I thought you, of all people, would take a stand against Amon." Korra agreed.

"Don't tell me he's gotten to you too?" Ms Marvel then said.

"No Ms Marvel he hasn't 'gotten to me' While I am still committed to bringing that lunatic to justice, I will not put innocent lives at stake just so Avatar Korra and your friends can play a game." Tarrlok explained with conviction.

Ms Marvel was about to argue back but Bruce beat her to it. "And so is giving in to the demands of a terrorist, if you want to stand against Amon why not show him and the Equalist's that you aren't afraid."

"I'm sorry but who are you?" Tarrlok questioned.

"He's one of us." Kamala simply said.

"And a man who knows what it's like to run away from something because it's too formidable. But if you close the arena your showing Amon he can get away with anything because of the so called power he holds." Bruce then said.

"He's right besides isn't it about time this city showed these Equalist's that they can't push us around." Hawkeye agreed. "Like the kid said Amon could be bluffing just to scare everyone."

"Plus from what we've seen Pro-Bending is more than just a game, its the one thing thats keeping the Bending and Non Bending community together." Black Widow agreed.

"Widow's right." Mako agreed. "Think of what it means to the city! Right now the arena is the one place where benders and nonbenders gather together ... in-in peace! To watch benders …"

"Beat each other up! In peace!" Bolin pointed out. "It's an inspiration to everyone!" He said boldly and with open arms."

"Oh yeah that sold it kid." Iron Man mumbled.

However it didn't change the councils decision on the subject. "I appreciate your naive idealism, but you're ignoring the reality of the situation. Especially considering this AIM you Avengers spoke of how they have more advanced power than the Equalists could ever have."

"The reality is if you close the arena, you let Amon win!" Korra then said.

"Councilmen I understand you want to do whats best for the city, but this isn't the answer." Cap then stepped up. "Look I know right now each and everyone of you are afraid."

"You accuse us of feeling fear?" Tarrlok said in an accusing manner.

"Yes I do and this is why you make this choice and why Amon is beating you! You're afraid to even admit you're afraid." Captain America then spoke out. "I know this because I have seen darker days. I've seen what happens when people who have power invoke unrest and fear into people just to show them who has authority, but I also know what it means to stand and fight for your beliefs. Avatar Aang wanted this city to be a haven for Benders and Non Benders to coexists in peace would you have that dream perish? The ideals of the past Avatar and his comrades gave everything to?"

The council members were quite startled by this speech, though Tenzin was uncomfortable with the super soldier bringing up his father in such a way. He had to admit some part of him was right. Korra, Mako and Bolin were most surprised of all about this man, how does he give such a motivational speech?

"Its time this city fought back and show these Equalists that we do not give in to terrorists because of their supposed might. Let The Avengers protect the arena we're equipped to deal with these Equalists if AIM is involved we know how to handle them and can protect the people." Cap then proposed.

"Yeah besides we've beaten Amons cronies before, and Natasha knows how they operate." Iron Man agreed. "Not to mention we know how to dismantle AIM's forces, done it before."

"Be that as it may Tony, Amon knows not to underestimate you Avengers again, and heaven only knows what AIM is capable of supplying them if that explosive poison bomb was evidence enough." Tenzin argued.

"Tenzin I believe them let them try, and Caps right its time we took a stand against them and if AIM is involved they can take them down." Korra argued.

"I'm sorry Captain but while a commending speech, our decision has been made. This meeting is adjourned." Tarrlok moved to pick up his gavel and slam it down. When suddenly out of nowhere a cable shot passed everyone and blasted the head of the gavel clean off the stick like splinters. Tarrlok gasped and everyone present turned round to see Lin Beifong retracting her cable showing she was the one who fired it.

"Lin?" Cap said rather surprised.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the Avatar." Lin said rather hesitantly.

"You do?" Tarrlok, Hawkeye and Iron Man said rather surprised.

"Yeah you do?" Korra was especially surprised the police chief who didn't like her or Kamala from the start was actually agreeing with her.

"Come again?" Ms Marvel said surprised. "I must be dreaming." She said to herself.

"I expected this kind of cut-and-run response from Tenzin." Lin said gesturing to said Airbending master who just looked indifferently. "But the rest of you? Come on, show a little more backbone." She said stepping forward. "Besides Captain Rogers is right It's time that the benders of this city displayed some strength and unity against these Equalists."

"We must prevent the conflict between benders and nonbenders from escalating into all-out war!" Tenzin argued back. "The council is not changing its position, Lin."

However as Tenzin argued Black Widow noticed the look on Tarrloks face as he thought over Lins proposal. She didn't like this one little bit, nor did Cap who also noticed the look the Watertribe representative had.

"Now just a moment, Tenzin. Let us hear what our esteemed Chief of Police has in mind." Tarrlok then proposed which resulted in Tenzin just folding his arms in argument. "Go on." Tarrlok voiced.

"If you keep the arena open, my metalbenders and I will provide extra security during the championship match." Lin proposed. "There's no better force to deal with the chi blockers. Our armor is impervious to their attacks." She then looked to the Avengers themselves. "As far as this AIM is concerned they have demonstrated how much of a threat they are to the city as Amon. So The Avengers are welcome to provide extra support in the event of an attack. I've seen first hand what they are capable of and it takes a force from another world to beat a force from another world."

Captain America smiled at that knowing that the Chief was willing to go the distance to protect her home. "I support Chief Beifong's decision the Avengers will stand with them for the safety of this city and to show Amon and MODOK we're not afraid."

Though no one saw it Lin did give a faint smile to the Captain agreeing with her. She had to admit she was starting to have a new found respect for the Super Soldier.

"Are you saying that you and the Avengers will personally take responsibility for the safety of the spectators in the arena?" Tarrlok questioned with a smile while Tenzin just glares at him with suspicion as did Black Widow who knew this weasel was just baiting her.

"I guarantee it." Lin said determined.

"It is hard to argue with Chief Beifong's track record." Tarrlok then said before turning to his fellow council members. "If she is confident her elite officers can protect the arena, then she has my support." He then looked to The Avengers. "As for The Avengers, they have shown their commitment and determination to protect this city from the Equalists, and this AIM, if the events of their train bomb plot wasn't evidence enough. They and the Avatar were willing to put their lives on the line in service to this great city. We owe it to their strategic foresight in regards AIM so for that they too have my support. I am changing my vote." Tarrlok raised his hand and looked to his fellow councilmen. "Who else is with me?"

One by one the other councilmen raised their hands in support. While Tenzin just turned away in disappointment and shook his head. While to the Fire Ferrets this meant only one thing for the future of the match.

"The arena stays open. Good luck in the finals." Tarrlok then said to the Fire Ferrets.

"All right!" Bolin cheered.

"Yeah!" Mako cheered shooting his fist into the air.

"Thank you!" Korra said bouncing up and down with joy as Ms Marvel hugged her friend.

"Yeah watch out Wolfbats we're coming for ya!" She cheered. Bruce couldn't help but smile at Kamala's optimism but at the same time he couldn't help but worry, that same feeling was felt among his fellow Avengers especially Widow and Cap. They knew Amon might try something in response to this, but when it came to MODOK he was as unpredictable as they come.

"And good luck to you, Chief Beifong." Tarrlok said to the esteemed chief of police who had a look of determination and conviction.

Tenzin then approached Lin as he whispered to her ear. "A word please, Lin." he said.

Soon the two were in the hallway talking privately out of ear shot of everyone else. "Tarrlok's playing you and I don't want to see you get hurt." He voiced in concern.

"I know what I am doing and the risks that come with it." Lin voiced to him with determination. "I'm not about to let this terrorist run down this city."

"In that case, I'm going to be by your side during the match." Tenzin then proposed.

"You don't need to babysit me." Lin said rather annoyed but the tone in her voice suggested some scorned feelings as well.

"It's for Korra and Kamala. I want to make sure they're safe." Tenzin explained.

"Isn't that what Rogers and his team are for?" Lin argued.

"They'll be watching out for signs of trouble, but I am Korra's teacher and I share the responsibility of watching out for her." Tenzin explained. "The same can be said of Kamala as well."

"Do what you want! It's not like I've ever been able to stop you before." Lin finally said throwing her arms up in defeat and scorn. As she started to walk away Korra and Ms Marvel came over.

"Excuse me, Chief Beifong. I wanted to thank you for your help.." However even as Korra thanked her the chief just walked away completely ignoring her and Ms Marvel. "it ... really ... means a lot …"

"Wow rude much?" Ms Marvel voiced as she saw the chief disappear from view.

"What is her deal? Even when she's on my side, she's against me!" Korra voiced rather annoyed.

"Yeah sometimes Bruce can be the same, but with her its like she's always angry for some reason." Ms Marvel agreed.

"I've known Lin since we were children, she's always been …" Tenzin found it difficult to find the right words but Ms Marvel had no trouble.

"Stubborn?" She guessed.

"Challenging." Tenzin then pointed out. "But yes stubborn too."

However it seemed most of Lins anger was directed at Korra and her Avatar status. So there was defiantly one thing she wanted to know. "What did your father do to make her hate the Avatar so much?"

"Actually, my father and Lin got along famously." Tenzin explained but turned his head away slightly "I'm afraid her issues ... are with me."

"Why what could you have done to…" Then suddenly it dawned on Ms Marvel, she remembered what Pema said about someone being in love with Tenzin before her. And Lin did seem rather bitter towards Tenzin, but this kind of bitter wasn't about a life long grudge its the kind of bitterness that was felt in the aftermath of a certain heartbreaking event.

She gasped as she gave a gaping smile on her face. "OOOOOO No way! NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE!"

Korra wondered what her friend was talking about but suddenly she too gasped as she put two and two together to get the full picture. "You and Beifong, Beifong and you. You two were a couple!"

Tenzin just looked shocked and bewildered by what the two girls were suggesting. "What! How-? Where'd you get that idea?!"

"HA! Your wife." Korra pointed at him.

"Criminy!" Tenzin angrily muttered. "I'll have to have a word with her."

"So thats why she's always so bitter at you." They were suddenly startled by a voice and they looked to see Iron Man with his helmet off standing behind them.

"Tony?!" Ms Marvel said surprised.

"Who? wha? How long were you standing there?!" Tenzin demanded.

"Heh long enough to know why Lin is always pissed at you. So Pema stole you from Beifong huh." Tony cracked as the girls and him looked smug. "Take it from me Tenzin the only thing more scarier than a hopping mad Hulk is a scorned woman like her."

"I'm actually surprised our "esteemed Chief of Police" didn't throw her in jail." Korra said rather smugly as Ms Marvel shared it as she was enjoying this as much as her.

"Oh, she tried." Tenzin then said much to the surprise of everyone.

"Seriously?" Ms Marvel questioned.

"Yes more than once." Tenzin explained. "Anyway, Pema didn't steal me, Lin and I had been growing apart for some time. We both had different goals in li-" He was so busy explaining everything about his and Lins past when they were dating that he didn't even realise what he was saying. "Why am I even telling you this? It all happened a long time ago and we've moved passed it."

"Oh I don't know, some of the girls I broke up with tend to hold grudges, the kind that nearly kill me." Iron Man explained.

"What?" Korra questioned.

"Yeah let's just say some of my enemies are people that I well…briefly mind you had feelings for." Tony bashfully admitted.

"You mean Madame Mask?" Ms Marvel guessed.

"Yeah." Tony admitted.

"Okay that aside." Korra then said still being smug. "Apparently Beifong hasn't moved passed it."

Tenzin tried to validate his argument but by this point he'd lost his footing. "What do you ... Of course she has! Anyway, this is none of your business!" He then walked away.

"See you at home Mr Heartbreaker!" Korra called as she and Kamala walked the other way laughing their heads off and Tony couldn't help but snicker, as Tenzin hung his head in embarrassment.

"Oh I'm gonna get some serious milage on this one!" Ms Marvel laughed with Korra.

As Tenzin walked he noticed Cap and Black Widow against the wall. "How did you guess?" Tenzin asked openly.

"Please your body language when we spoke to Lin about the Equalist's was too obvious." Black Widow simply shrugged.

Tenzin just groaned but then Widow just got straight to business. "Tenzin despite Lins determination, I understand your concern. I saw that look in Tarrloks eyes when she brought this forwards. He's doing the same thing he did to Korra." She voiced.

"I know, and thats why I'm worried despite mine and Lins past grievances I'm not about to let Tarrlok get away with this. Lin has given much to her duty already I don't want to see an end to that." Tenzin explained.

"We understand Tenzin, and rest assured we will do everything in our power to protect her and the people at the arena." Cap said to him with every ounce of conviction.

"I trust you will, but Steven as a personal request I want you to watch out for her, she listens to you and respects you even if she doesn't show it." Tenzin explained.

"I will Teznin, you have my word." Cap said to him. "But we're all going to have to be on alert tonight, when Amon finds out the council denied his threat. He'll be quick to respond to this, and people with ambition don't take denial lightly."

Elsewhere:

In a concealed location in what looked like an old foundry warehouse vans were being loaded by AIM Agents. they all had crates in their hands. In the structure above Amon watched as his plans were assembling. The Lieutenant then appeared behind him.

"We just got word. The council defied your threat. They're keeping the arena open." He explained as Amon looked out. He then looked to his compatriot hiding in the shadows.

"It is as you anticipated." Amon said as MODOK floated out of the shadows.

"Of course, I plan and foresee every scenario and contingency. I knew The Avengers and the Avatar wouldn't stand and let your threat go unanswered." MODOK smirked. "For that is their weakness, as well as their pride and concern for others."

"Yes, and now everything proceeds according to plan. Tonight we will show the city that the world is changing." Amon said.

"By your will Amon." The Lieutenant said loyally.

"Assuming the other cogs in this revolution machine work." MODOK then said. "For if one malfunctions the rest falls, and as I recall lieutenant you've been bested by the Avengers and the Avatar twice already."

"I won't fail this time." The Lieutenant glared.

"Oh I have no doubt but to take on the Avengers it's going to take cunning and intelligence not subterfuge which is why I am sending someone with you." MODOK proposed.

"Who?" Amon questioned and heard footsteps emerge from the dark as someone stands in the shadows.

"Someone who will prove to be a valuable asset to our cause." MODOK smirked as the Lieutenant and Equalist leader looked at said someone in the shadows who bore a look of conviction in his eyes.

The Pro Bending Arena:

Later that night Lins security detail at the Pro-Bending Arena was already put in place. Boats were patrolling the waters around the arena, while in the sky airships combed the area, for any signs of an attack. While inside the Metalbender Police force was searching the area for any weak points that Amon may exploit. Black Widow, Captain America and Hawkeye were present as well. Given their experience they decided to look for blindspots that maybe Lin's officers couldn't see.

The officers searched the rafters with tourches while Widow had small arial robots scanning the building and rafters. Compliments of Tony Stark. However nothing seemed to appear, so the officer looked up to the entrance to see the chief standing there. "All clear chief."

Widow soon came up to Beifong. "Well Tony's drones have combed the entire area no signs of bombs or any previously planted booby traps." Widow reported.

"Good, at least we know they haven't put something in place already." Lin said to her.

"But all the same I recommend the sky light be covered as they could attack from above but have every entrance or exit covered." Widow then recommended. "And we should screen all visitors upon entering"

"Noted." Lin said to her as she looked to one officer. "I want double security around the entrances and exits. And have every participant searched upon entering."

"Yes chief." The officer said as he moved to ensure the tightest security was enforced. She looked and saw a group of her officers were talking to Cap.

Cap was instructing the officers in how to combat AIM should they decide to appear with the Equalists. "Okay the AIM Agents maybe tough but their not invincible in the case of their arial capabilities target the boosters on their packs. It'll cause an explosion that'll ground them. Try to surprise them and trip them up don't get locked down to one opponent." He instructed and the Officers nodded in response.

"I can understand the Equalists, but it seems Rogers takes this threat of AIM seriously." Lin noted.

"As do we all, AIM's as cunning as they come." Black Widow said.

"Yeah you said they manipulated the governments of your world back home. What do you mean by that?" Lin explained.

"Well after the events of A-Day Tarleton basically made the Inhumans and the Avengers to be the bad guys, and when it comes to the media people believe half of what they see and none of what they hear." Widow explained. "AIM is quick to take advantage of that, they act like their the worlds best hope when in the shadows they reveal their true selves."

"So just as manipulative as Amon?" Lin questioned.

"Yes." Widow explained. "They had Steve on ice in a station for those five years and one of them drained his blood to act as some kind of regenerative formula to help MODOK who was affected on A-Day, but we found him and put a stop to it."

Lin was rather taken aback by that story especially about Captain America being put on ice and treated that way. It all seemed clear why the super soldier took this threat seriously. Not to mention his past experience.

"So despite that he still keeps going to protect the people." Lin realised. "I have to admire that dedication."

"Yeah thats something you and him have in common." Black Widow explained. "Its why I follow Cap as a leader, he has every bit of determination and conviction to see things through, and he sees the best in all of us."

Just then Tenzin arrived on site to see how things were going. Lin just acted like he wasn't there. "How is the security sweep going?" Tenzin asked.

"Fine." Lin said rather bluntly.

"They've checked underneath the stands?" Tenzin then asked.

"Yes." Lin said in the same manner, and to Widow it seemed that Tenzin was on thin enough ice already, at this point it seemed like he was pushing his luck.

"And you have enough officers to cover all points of entry?" Tenzin then asked and Lin had just about had enough.

She turned to Tenzin looking rather abrasive. "I have the skies, the bay, and every nook and cranny of this place covered." She said before turning her head back. "Now leave me alone and let me do my job."

Widow decided to try and resolve this, but Cap beat her to it as he came over. "Okay look you two I know there's still some tension between you. But if we're going to be prepared for whatever Amon has planned we need to be on our toes that means working together."

"He's right Lin." Tenzin agreed. "with so much on the line it would be nice if we could help each other out, at least for one night."

Lin was all but quiet but, she had to admit, they were right. It was no secret that she was still a little bitter about what happened between her and Tenzin years ago, hence why she threw herself into her job. But with the looming threat maybe it was time she put the past aside for now.

"Like old times?" Lin asked with a more softened expression.

"Like old times." Tenzin replied.

"Okay, I'll try to be less abrasive than usual." Lin decided less harshly.

"I would appreciate that." Tenzin said as he headed across the rafters to check on things.

"Okay Nat tell Hawkeye I want him to scout out the sky light we need to cover every possibility." Cap said to her.

"Way ahead of you." Black Widow pointed up and saw that Hawkeye being true to his name was watching from up on high like a hawk watching from his roost.

Cap nodded as he walked away leaving Lin and Widow alone. "Seriously you and Tenzin?"

"Hey sue me I was young." Lin simply shrugged. "But I guess I was too much for him."

"Hm I'd say that puts you one step ahead of Tony's last ex." Black Widow smirked.

"Okay how do you put up with that rich arrogant jerk anyway?" Lin asked.

"Years of patience Lin, years of patience." Widow said. "He can be so full of himself sometimes even when he can't tell right from wrong sometimes."

"Men often are." Lin smirked.

"Better hope Cap didn't hear that." Widow smirked back as they continued to overlook things.

Later that night:

The night of the Pro Bending Finals had come, and while the Police patrolled the skies and the bay. The crowds gathered and were all taking their places in the stands. Not before the Police searched the guests upon their arrival.

"The anticipation is palpable as we are just moments away from the championship match. Will the Wolfbats' ferocity help them repeat as champs?" Shiro Shinobi announced in the commentary box. "Or will the underdog Fire Ferrets serve up a surprising bowl of smackdown soup?"

In the locker areas Bolin was giving a pep talk. "Now I know there's a big crowd but don't be nervous. You're gonna do great, I believe in you." He said encouragingly. However his pep talk was for Pabu who was dressed in a small white shirt with the Future Industries logo on it.

The rest of the team got ready as they put on their helmets. Kamala stood in her water tribe attire with her Fire Ferrets jacket as she stood in support.

"Go get'em guys show those pompous Wolfbutts who's the new top dog around here!" Kamala encouraged her friends and teammates.

"Thanks Kamala something tells me we're gonna need it tonight." Mako agreed. Bruce then came into the locker room and stood next to Kamala.

"Well best of luck to you all." Bruce wished them luck.

"Thanks Dr Banner." Korra said.

"Please Korra just Bruce is fine." Bruce assured.

"Oh and just a heads up, Tony pulled some strings and arranged a special intro for you guys." Kamala said to them.

"Knowing Tony dare I ask what?" Mako asked knowing from his friend and past experience that the armoured Avenger tends to go big when it comes to making an entrance.

"Trust me kid your better off not knowing." Bruce sighed.

Without further delay the team headed out onto the platform with Pabu in tow. Emerging from the platform in the centre of the ring was the announcer. The crowd goes wild and up in the rafters Cap, Tenzin and Lin watched from the left while on the upper stands Black Widow and Hawkeye watched from above.

"Introducing the challengers, the Future Industries Fire Ferrets!" The announcer announced and in the rafters fans dressed like Korra, Bolin and Mako cheered them on.

Then out of nowhere loud rock music began playing and the lights focused on the Fire Ferrets and as they moved fireworks blasted off around the arena. The Fire Ferrets were rather surprised but decided to roll with it. They posed and waved to their audience.

From the rafters each of the Avengers gave a thumbs up or two fingered solute as a sign of good luck. While in the VIP box, Tony, Asami and Hiroshi watched.

"I must say Tony isn't this rather flashy for introducing the team?" Hiroshi questioned.

Tony just chuckled. "Hiroshi, when you want to make a statement, you gotta make an entrance count. And your talking to an expert." He gestured to himself.

"Well I guess I'll have to take your word for it my friend." Hiroshi chuckled.

Asami blew a kiss to her boyfriend in the Fire Ferrets and winked at him to wish him luck. Mako replies with a two finger solute and a wink of his own. Korra just looks away hiding her disgust.

The team stepped onto the arena still waving to their adoring public. Bolin then looked to Pabu who sat on his shoulder. "You're on, Pabu."

With that Pabu hopped down from his masters shoulder, and flipped up onto his front legs and began his performance. He moved around on his front legs before performing a back flip. Bolin bent an earthdisk out of the arena floor removing the centre allowing the small Fire Ferret to flip through the hole back and fourth until he ended his performance on one paw.

"Yes! Nailed it! He's so talented." Bolin said to his teammates and the performance did earn some applause from the audience.

"Awww so cute! I wish I could've filmed that!" Kamala cooed in awe. All Bruce could do was shake his head smiling.

In the rafters someone else enjoyed the performance. "Okay I'll admit that was adorable." Black Widow admitted.

"Yeah makes me wish Lucky was here." Hawkeye agreed.

Suddenly the light around the Fire Ferrets went dark as the announcer sounded off. "And their opponents, the three timed defending champions…. the White Falls Wolfbats!" The announcer proclaimed.

The platform on the opposite side of the arena moved forward and revealed the rival team. They wore what looked like bat masks on their faces and wore purple cloaks. This looked like they were trying to put Count Dracula to shame.

The team raised their cloak wings and howled as around them and the arena fire works shot up into the sky and exploded followed by cheers from the crowd. The wolf bats adoring fans howled for their heroes while the Fire Ferrets supporters just booed at them.

"Show offs." Kamala grumbled from the lockers.

"Pfft." Bolin scoffed in the arena looking to his pet. "They got nothing on us, buddy. Anybody can howl. Oollll." However his howl didn't sound so effective. "Hm, whatever."

In the VIP box Hiroshi was rather impressed. "I must say that was an impressive entry."

Tony just scoffed at that. "Pfft please, they gave a good show but our guys entry was better."

"How so?" Asami asked.

"One word kid. Presentation." Tony said rather grandly.

In the arena Tahno removed his mask and cape as did his team-mates and stood looking at his rival team rather smugly.

Korra just glared and bashed her fist into her hand in anticipation. "I'm gonna knock Tahno's stupid hair off his stupid head!"

"You'll have to get in line." Mako agreed glaring, as Pabu leaped off Bolin shoulder. Kamala extend out her stretched hand and the small Fire Ferret bounced onto it and she pulled him in so he could rest on her shoulder.

The two teams stood up to the line glaring each other down, trying to psych out the other. "The champs and challengers face off at the center-line and here we go!"

The bell sounds and the match begins. Out of nowhere the Wolfbats attack first with Tahno catching Korra by surprise with an uppercut waterbending fist. Korra barely manages to move back to avoid it back flipping out of the way only to be hit by a water bending blast from Tahno.

"THATS PLAYING DIRTY!" Kamala yelled from the lockers much to Bruce and Pabu's surprise.

"Tahno tries to clean the Avatar's clock with some dirty water boxing." Shiro Shinobi announced.

Mako unleashes some fire fists towards the Wolfbats Earthbender but misses and he retaliates with two earthdisks kicking them towards Mako. One hits him in the chest and the second impact forces him back to zone two.

"Ming shakes off Mako's attack and returns the favor." Shiro Shinobi announced.

The Wolfbats fire bender flips over Bolin's incoming earth disk, but it bounced off the ropes and as the fire bender fired a fire fist. CRASH the earth disk slammed right in his front rolling him to the side.

"Shaozu gets fancy, but Bolin ricochets a disk off the ropes and says 'No, thank you sir!'" Shiro Shinobi commentates.

"YEAH! Thats the way to do it kid!" Clint cheered, while Natasha just smiled impressed.

"Nice shot!" Mako called to his brother in support. However Tahno grew a face of irritation at the Fire Ferrets.

The Wolfbats retaliate with Tahno going one on one with Korra. The Avatar fires a stream of water at Tahno who retaliates with a water slash of his own only for Korra to dodge it.

"The waterbenders slug it out, looking evenly matched." Shiro Shinobi announced.

Then suddenly the leader of the Wolfbats did the unexpected he summoned a large amount of water and thrushed a prolonged blast at Bolin catapulting him across the ring and into zone three.

"Tahno gets a little too worked up and unleashes a deluge on Bolin that would certainly elicit a foul." Shiro Shinobi announced. However the greenlight sounded allowing the Wolfbats to move forward. "Or apparently not."

"What the heck!" Kamala exclaimed. "They can't do that thats a foul!"

"Doesn't look like the ref sees it that way." Bruce realised.

Mako couldn't agree more. "What's the big idea, ref? That was a hosing foul!" He called to the referee only to receive a hand sign that said it wasn't. Much to Makos anger but none the less, the game continued.

"And the Wolfbats advance despite Tahno exceeding the waterbending time limit." Shiro Shniobi announced. "A questionable call by the officials."

Korra tries to waterbed only for Tahno to strike her with an attack of his own. Bolin retaliates by launching a disk at him only to dodge while Korra rolls to the side. Mako narrowly dodges an Earthdisk from rival earth bender, however play got dirty as suddenly he bent a disk under Makos foot tripping him up and fired another disk knocking him back to zone three.

"Ming trips up Mako with another dirty trick!" Shiro Shinobi announced but once again the refs did nothing.

"HEY REF HAVE YOU GONE BLIND!" Tony yelled from the VIP box, and Hiroshi and his daughter had to agree just what was going on with this match.

They weren't the only ones. "Oh come on, refs! There was some funny business in that last play!" Tenzin said rather surprising Lin and Cap.

"Wouldn't have guessed you knew the rules of pro-bending?" Lin said in an amused tone.

"Yeah I thought this wasn't your thing Tenzin?" Cap agreed.

"I've been brushing up. That Wolfbat blatantly bent a disk outside of his zone." Tenzin cleared his throat and explained.

"Seems the refs don't notice." Cap agreed and realised what was really going on. "Almost as if they're letting the Wolfbats play this way."

He was bang on the money as play continued with Mako and Bolin backed up to the edge of zone three. "The Ferret brothers are backed up to zone three and the Wolfbats smell blood."

The wolfbats go on the offensive Tahno fires a water blast which Bolin jumps up to avoid. When suddenly the water turns to ice causing Bolin to slip upon landing and was blasted by a fire blast knocking him into the drink.

"Looks like Tahno snuck in an illegal icing move but once again there's no call." Shiro Shinobi said in his booth quite surprised. "I don't know what match the refs are watching but it's obviously not this one."

"WHAT THE HELL REF I CALL FOUL!" Hawkeye yelled from the rafters. "Its like they need glasses!"

"No they know whats going on, they're just choosing to ignore it." Black Widow noted knowing all too well what was going on.

Korra and Mako were still standing despite the blindness of the refs. Tahno and his earth bender Ming gang up on Korra with combo attacks of water blasts and earth disks forcing her back to zone three.

"Oh ... a splash-and-clash sends the Avatar to zone three as well." Shiro Shinobi announced.

Mako quickly moves in front of Korra just as the Wolfbats launch a triple attack of their respective elements. Mako fire bends to block but the impact of the collision sends the two tumbling over the edge.

"NO!" Kamala cried, just as the bell sounded.

"It's a knockout!" Shiro Shinobi announced. As the Wolfbats bow and look smug in their victory. "The Wolfbats win the championship for the fourth year in a-" However Shinobi then noticed something. "Hold on a second, folks!"

Kamala and Bruce gasped as they too saw what happened. By some miracle Korra held onto the edge of the ring while holding Mako by his collar. "Scratch that! The Ferrets are still alive, but just barely."

With a grunt and with all her might Korra started to swing back and fourth all the while the Wolfbats were too busy basking in their so called victory. With one grunt Korra swung Mako into the air before she dropped into the drink.

Mako quickly took advantage of the momentum and upon landing in the ring performed a fire kick which hit Tahno square in the back catapulting him to the ground catching his teammates completely by surprise as the bell sounded.

"OHHH BURN!" Kamala cheered and Bruce just smiled in relief, he had to admit he was beginning to like these kids determination. The same could be said for the big guy too.

"What an unbelievable move!" Shiro Shinobi announced as Tahno got back onto his feet looking infuriated while Mako smirked and winked. in a fighting pose. "These Ferrets aren't just bending the elements, they're bending my mind! The underdogs survive to see round two." Much to Tahno's infuriation.

Before round two started Kamala requested five minutes with her team which the Refs allowed. The Fire Ferrets huddled together as they could see there was foul play involved her.

"What the heck's going on?!" Kamala asked.

"Yeah what is up with these refs?" Korra agreed.

"They've been paid off; it's the only explanation." Mako instantly guessed. "Someone wants us to lose."

Kamala glared at the obvious culprits. "I'll bet that someone is Tahno! He can't stand losing to us underdogs so he stoops to this!"

"Oh yeah!" Korra said glaring at the Wolfbats before turning back to the team. "If the Wolfbats are gonna fight dirty, then so should we."

"Korra no! Thats not the way, what good is winning if you stoop to their level." Kamala disagreed. "The titles meaningless if it's not won fair and square."

"Kamala's right." Mako agreed. "The refs have it out for us. If we're gonna win this thing, it has to be fair and square."

Korra didn't like the idea but she knew they were right, they didn't come this far to let some cheats steal their chance at winning the tournament. "Argh, that's no fun but ... all right."

Then Kamala had an idea. "But… we maybe able to play this to our advantage."

"Come again?" Bolin asked.

"Guys think about it, Tahno is proud and arrogant thats his weakness, so make him think he's won then when he least expects it BAM!" Kamala explained shooting her fist into the air remembering a training session from Thor in the Harm Room some time ago.

"I like the sound of that." Korra smirked.

"I think I see where your going Kamala, lets do it!" Mako agreed. "Time the Wolfbats felt the burn of the Fire Ferrets!"

"Yeah!" The team cheered in agreement.

With that Kamala left the ring to rejoin Bruce and Pabu who was now resting on his head.

"Round… two!" The ring announcer announced and the bell ring starting round two of the match.

"The opening salvo is a brutal call as both sides give it their all." Shiro Shinobi announces.

The two teams lash out at each other. Tahno launches a water bending attack towards Korra who flips out of the way of the attack, then blocks a second attack.

Korra tries to retaliate but couldn't move her right foot, because Tahno iced it up, giving him the opening to blast her back with a water kick. Still no call from the refs.

"But once again, Tahno sneaks in a little ice to get the upper hand." Shiro Shinobi announced.

Bolin fires an earthdisk at the rival firebender knocking him back while his brother launches a fire kick at the rival earth bender who blocks it with an earth disk but the force of the impact catapults him back. Suddenly the Wolfbats Fire Bender fires fire fists and fire arcs at Mako, and it seemed like he was aiming for his head. Mako narrowly dodges the blasts and arches his head back to avoid the last blast.

"Wowzers! Those look like illegal head shots to me!" Shiro Shinobi announced and Widow was impressed by Mako's quickness to avoid those blasts. The bell rang and all the players were still in the ring.

"Round two will be decided with a tie-breaker!" The Ring announcer announced.

So the ref came between the two teams and tossed a coin into the air. The Ferrets wondered if the toss had been rigged as well wouldn't put it passed them. Luckily as the coin landed on the refs hand it showed it landed on the red side.

"The Fire Ferrets win the coin toss. Which element do you choose?" The ref asked the determined looking Fire Ferrets.

Korra looked back to Kamala in the lockers who gave her a fist pounding and a thumbs up. The Avatar knew what she was suggesting. "I'm taking this one. Let's go! You and me, pretty boy!" Korra challenged stepping up to the plate as Tahno smirked rather smugly.

"Thought you'd never ask." Said a confident Tahno as he too stepped up to the plate. As the rest of the team members backed up the centre stage rose with Korra and Tahno now in fighting poses. The two circled each other like wolves about to strike.

Kamala and Bruce watched with anticipation to know what would happen next. The same could be said for the other Avengers as Tony was at the edge of his seat.

"Come on, little girl. Give me your best shot." Tahno taunted smugly, as Korra narrowed her eyes.

Like a viper she struck fring a water blast which missed Tahno but suddenly before he could strike back a second water strike struck him right under the chin. It was then revealed that Korra had fired a decoy water shot with her fist only to kick up a second one which hit him dead in the chin. The impact not only messed up his hair but blasted him off the ring as the bell sounded.

The crowd cheered as Korra gave a smug smirk. "Hmph, chump." She had heeded her friends words well.

The Wolfbats fangirls were completely shocked at the Fire Ferrets beating him in the tie breaker. The same could be said for the Fire Ferrets fans who were frozen in amazed shock as Tahno's helmet landed in the hands of the Korra cosplayer. Cap was most impressed as he too had used a similar tactic before when he faced Hydra and the Red Skull during the war.

"Round two goes to the Fire Ferrets!" The announcer announced and the score board lit up with the Fire Ferrets colour.

"YEAH! Oh hoho that was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen!" Kamala cheered while laughing seeing the look on Tahno's face after Korra's surprised strike. "Take that cheater!"

Bruce just chuckled at her optimism. "Heh heh no doubt, I can see why you like her so much. In a way she kind of reminds me of you."

Kamala was rather taken aback by what the Gamma scientist had complimented. "Whu- really?"

"Yes your both fierce, determined and can sometimes jump in without thinking." Bruce then said in a hinting tone at that last bit.

"Oh ha ha." Kamala said sarcastically.

"But seriously, she's a lot like you and she and those kids have a lot of potential." Bruce then said.

"Yeah they do." Kamala softly agreed as she saw her team celebrate their tiebreaker victory.

Korra jumped down from the ring to be greeted by her teammates. "Nice one!" Mako high fives Korra.

"That's the stuff. You are my herooo-ah!" Bolin exclaimed in agreement.

"We might actually win this thing!" Mako said with hope in his voice.

Meanwhile the other two Wolfbats helped their leader to his feet. The latter just pushed them off him not wanting their pity. He looked with an enraged look in his eyes at the Fire Ferrets who humiliated him as he straightened out his hair.

"Let's send them to a watery grave!" He growled enraged.

In the stands Lin, Tenzin and Cap had seen the whole thing unfold. Though she wouldn't show it she was impressed. "I can't believe your sweet-tempered father was reincarnated into that girl. She's tough as nails." Lin admitted.

"Is that a compliment I heard Chief?" Cap guessed. While Lin all but tried to deny it.

" Indeed. Reminds me of someone else I knew at that age." Tenzin agreed. "You two might get along if you would only give her a chance."

Lin just narrowed her eyes at that prospect until Captain America spoke up. "He's not wrong Lin, take Kamala for example, I can see she and Korra are much alike and they rise up to meet expectations. People can surprise you."

Lin couldn't help but wonder if they were right. She had been tough on Korra from the start the same was said of Kamala too. But maybe she had them wrong maybe they weren't so bad after all.

The final round had come and the scores were tied this match would decide the outcome. "One round apiece, who wants it more?" Shiro Shinobi anounced as Tahno annoyingly eyed a very determined Avatar Korra. The bell sounded and the final match began.

Tahno attacks first, as his earth bender blocks an incoming water attack from Korra with an earth fires two earth disks but takes a strike from Tahno's waterbending.

The Wolfbats earth bender fires an earth disk while the fire bender jumps over him with a fire arc kick. "The Wolfbats fly out of the gates, swinging with bad intentions." Shiro Shinobi announced. "The challengers are showing a lot of heart but the champs are really starting to find their rhythm now."

The Wolfbats moved in rhythm with Tahno flipping over one of the poles of the ring avoiding an earth disk before firing water bending blast, and the earth bender launches an attack on Korra who blocks the disk impact. She narrowly avoids another attack.

"Can the Ferrets hang in there with the best, especially when the best are frankly getting a little help from the refs?" Shiro Shinobi said clearly seeing some biased from the refs.

Korra launches a water bending blast at Tahno who blocks it with a smug smirk on his face. "It's all down to this final round!"

Mako fires several fire fists towards his opponents which Ming counters with an earth disk but something is a foot as Tahno goes behind him. "Mako is leaving it all in the ring but it looks like Tahno and Ming are up to more shenanigans!"

He was right for ming bent an earth disk behind him and crushed it into rock pieces. Followed by Tahno bending water around it. The cheating Wolfbat then fired three of these blasts. One struck Mako in the head followed by Bolin then finally Korra and the earth struck her right in the head as one by one the Fire Ferrets ended up in the waters below.

"Oh, this has gone too far! That water had rocks in it!" Shiro Shinobi announced but this didn't even change the refs calling.

"Knockout!" The Ref called much to Kamala's and Tenzin's disbelief.

"Oh, come on! Those were illegal head shots! Open your eyes, ref!" Tenzin protested.

Kamala agreed she had just about had enough of these cheats. So with a look of gritted anger she chose to do something about it. "Kamala what are you doing?" Bruce asked out of concern.

"Teaching those cheats a lesson!" Kamala growled as she leaped onto the arena floor.

"Well, folks it's a controversial call but the Wolfbats notch a nasty knockout to win the match!" Shiro Shinobi announced. "For the fourth year in a row, they'll be crowned tournament champions."

The cheating Wolfbats waved to their adoring public who cheered despite the obvious foul play that had taken place. Tahno removed his helmet with a sense of false pride.

"I barely broke a sweat! Anybody else wanna scrap with the champs?" Tahno then challenged.

"Then try me!" Called a voice and the Wolfbats looked to see Kamala standing in the ring sporting Korra's spare helmet.

"Whoa what a surprise folks Kamala Kahn the Fire Ferrets coach has now stepped into the ring, what a twist this is folks." Shiro Shinobi announced.

The Avengers were all shocked by this but none more so than Bruce. For he knew Kamala had a habit of getting in over her head. Especially when she lets her emotions get to her.

"Whats she doing?!" Asami said both concerned and impressed.

"Oh no I don't like where this is going." Tony realised in shock.

In the ring Tahno bore a smug look on his face as he stepped forwards to face the polymorph Avenger. "Oh you sure you want to go a few rounds with us little girl?"

"You know I heard Pro-Bending was a great sport but cheating scum like you give it a bad name!" Kamala challenged. "You guys were once great champions but now look at you resorting to cowardly cheating so you wouldn't lose to people who really deserve it! Oh how the mighty have fallen." Kamala then said, and that cowardly part really stung Tahno right where it hurts.

"You better be careful what you say next little ferret." Tahno said gritting his teeth.

"Whats wrong Tahno afraid to fight a little girl like me, or a little too chicken to get your ass kicked by an Avenger." Kamala challenged with a smirk.

With that last straw Tahno launched a water blast at Kamala who ducked and enlarged her foot slamming it to the ground raising an earth disk. Which she then kicked towards Tahno who got hit straight in the gut and sent catapulting to the ground.

Kamala looked with a smug look then looked at the ref. "How's that for a knockout! A real knockout!"

All of a sudden a water blast with earth rocks in it struck Kamala straight in the head in slow-motion and catapulted her straight into the drink with her fellow Fire Ferrets much to everyones horror. The same could be said of the Avengers. While Tahno looked with a rather smug look on his face.

"Oooo now thats just crossing a line!" Shiro Shinobi announced in shock.

Bruce saw what those boys did to Kamala and that broke a nerve in him. He growled as his eyes glowed bright green in anger. He would've transformed into the Hulk if he didn't clutch his head and taken a few deep breaths.

"Stay calm, stay calm." Bruce said calmly nearly going to his knees.

In the pool below the other Fire Ferrets surfaced and caught their breath. Korra looked and saw floating on the water was Kamala she looked beaten up. "Kamala!" Korra said in horror as she swam over to her friend and removed her helmet. "Y..ou okay?"

Kamala groaned as she regained her consciousness and looked to see her friend near her side. "I..I will be…Just as soon as we kick Tahno's ass!" Korra smiled in relief knowing she was okay.

Meanwhile in the rafters while Black Widow wanted nothing more than to teach those Wolfbats a lesson. As she looked around she realised they now had bigger problems. She noticed in the crowds, some of the people pulled up masks with red spots on them with a familiar symbol.

"Thats it I'm going down there!" Hawkeye said about to teach the Wolfbats a painful lesson. However he was suddenly stopped by his partner. "Widow what…"

Black Widow gave a gesture for Hawkeye to look at the crowds, it was then he noticed certain people in the crowds and some of them it seems had concealed weapons. This meant only one thing.

Black Widow reached for her communicator to call her fellow teammates. "Avengers heads up we may have trouble." She whispered which was heard by her fellow team-mates.

In the VIP booth Tony quietly looked to the door and noticed someone was coming in and it didn't look like a concession stand seller. "JARVIS." He said silently. "I'm gonna need a change of clothes and make it fast!"

"Right away sir." JARVIS relayed in his earpiece.

Air Temple Island:

Back on Air Temple island Pema was cleaning a few things around Tony's room. She was told by the latter to be careful of the equipment he left there. So she was. All of a sudden the Iron Man armour surged into life which startled her to say the least. Then sudden the arms moved into a certain position and it blasted off straight through the roof and into the sky.

"Oh my!" Pema gasped. She was so stunned by what happened she didn't notice a clap of thunder that shook the sky.

The Arena:

As Tenzin complained about the Refs biased decision, Cap suddenly noticed one of the masked individuals coming towards Lin. His eyes widened in horror as he knew what he was planning to do.

"LIN!" He yelled as he pushed her aside and the glove sent electricity surging through it but Cap blocked it with his shield and Tenzin quickly bent air and blasted the Equalist away.

However suddenly Tenzin received a shock in the back by another disguised Equalist. "Tenzin!" Cap exclaimed as he readied a shield strike but another Equalist armed with a shock glove tried to attack him. Lin quickly stepped in the way and took the shock in his place.

Cap growled but suddenly dropping in from above were AIM agents dressed in armoured mechs and armed with blasters. The super soldier found himself surrounded.

One by one around the arena the Metal Bending officers were shocked with Shock gloves by Equalists in hiding. The entrances were picked off one by one.

In the upper rafters Black Widow and Hawkeye were being approached by Equalists armed with shock gloves. One charged at Widow only for her to flip over the Equalist then fired a shot from her gauntlets shocking her to the ground. Another approached Hawkeye who quickly drew and arrow and fired it at the Equalists feet sticking him to the ground allowing Widow to leap over her partner and kick him to the ground. Suddenly however a blaster shot hit Clint in the chest.

"Clint!" Widow exclaimed but was suddenly met by a certain individual he wore a white cloak and hood over his face which was covered by a metal skull mask and wore a dark blue armour padded suit with gray armour. On his back he wore a shield with an orange symbol. He pointed a gun at both Widow and Hawkeye.

"Black Widow….its been a long time." He said smirking behind his mask.

"TaskMaster?!" Widow said in surprise and glared.

In the VIP booth. The Satos and Tony saw what was happening. "Whats going on!" Hiroshi gasped.

"Come on we need to get out of here!" Tony said however his route was cut off by two Equalists armed with Shock Gloves accompanied by an Aim Agent armed with a laser blaster.

"You and them are going nowhere Stark!" The agent warned. "Unless you want them to get it!" He aimed the blaster at Asami who was defended by her father and Tony. He hoped his change of clothes would arrive soon.

Bruce could see that his fellow Avengers were at the mercy of the AIM mechs. Suddenly however he noticed a certain individual heading down to the drink where the kids were. He quickly hurried to the lift hoping to get to them in time. Pabu quickly followed the Gamma scientist.

In the drink itself Korra, Mako, Bolin and Kamala noticed the electrical surges in the stands. "Hey what..whats going on?" Kamala gasped.

"I..I don't know?" Korra gasped. However it was about to get worse, for suddenly the Equalist Lieutenant appeared on the tunnel entrance to the side. Causing the group to gasp in shock. Before they could even react the Lieutenant charged his electrified batons and jammed them into the water shocking the Fire Ferrets and Kamala as they screamed in pain and were knocked out.

From his commentator booth Shiro Shinobi saw all. "Folks, there is some sort of electrical disturbance in the stands. Metalbender cops are dropping like bumbleflies, and the Avengers appear to be surrounded by strange mechanised suits with people in yellow suits. There also appears to be masked members of the audience wielding strange devices on their hands." He commentated.

Almost on cue one of the masked Equalsits appears in the room armed with a shock glove. "One of them is in the booth with me right now, folks! He is leveling one of those glove devices at me now and I believe he is about to electrocute me. I am currently wetting my pants." He said just as the Equalist delivered the shock blow.

In the ring Tahno and his fellow Wolfbats saw the electrical surged lights in the stand seeing every spectator scream in fear and panic. Just then from the centre stage platform the man behind this attack had made his appearance. Amon himself who was surrounded by his fellow Equalists and a small squad of AIM agents in armoured mechs and what appear to be jet packs made in a steampunk style but more advanced.

Tahno and his crew turned to see the leader of the Equalists himself in a look of terror as Amon glared at them from behind his mask.

Hawkeye groaned as he got back up only to see he was at the mercy of AIM agents. He looked to the ring and saw Amon had made his grand entrance.

"So the coward finally shows himself." He growled.

In the drink the Fire Ferrets were dragged under the arena by the Equalists while in the rafters the disguised Equalaists had the panicking crowds at their mercy. While Cap was surrounded by AIM agents in mechs. He didn't retaliate as he didn't want to risk the safety of Lin or Tenzin. While the other Avengers were surrounded by AIM and Equalists armed with shock gloves.

In the ring The Wolfbats were met by Amon and his men. "What's going on here, ref?" Tahno asked looking to the referee.

"I don't know!" The ref replied raising his arms in confusion to the whole situation.

The Wolfbats stepped back as the Equalists and AIM agents approached them. However Tahno wasn't about to let some masked clown take away his victory celebration.

"All right, you want a piece of the Wolfbats? Here it comes!" Tahno said as he fired a water blast towards Amon who simply dodged his attack and ran towards them. Amon dodged another of Tahno's attacks and turned his attention to the fire bender who threw a fire fist only for Amon to grab him by the arm and swing him away.

Tahno was ready with another attack only for his hands to be suddenly restrained by metal gauntlets. Shot by an AIM agent, the Earthbender Wolfbat was also quickly restrained by similar restraints that then shocked him to his knees as it did for Tahno.

The Equalits then brought Tahno to his knees and faced their master. The leader of the Wolfbats wasn't so arrogant or tough anymore if anything he was very afraid.

"Wait, please don't do this! I'll give you the championship pot," Tahno begged but Amon just raised his hand and the Wolfbat knew what was coming next. "I'll-I'll give you everything just please don't take my bending!" He begged in complete terror.

However his begs didn't sway Amon has his thumb touched Tahno's forehead and the Wolfbat was at his mercy as in one swoop. Amon had taken away his bending for good.

The AIM mechs then picked up the cleansed Wolfbats and tossed them into the drink like the trash they were claimed to be. Banners suddenly dropped from above with the Equalsist symbol on them. While below Kamala, Bolin and Mako were being restrained by the Lieutenant and two Chi Blockers armed with shock gloves in hand in the stage below. Korra was being dragged to where her teammates were. She was barely conscious when suddenly she had another vision. She saw what looked like her predecessor Avatar Aang with an older Toph Beifong in Police uniform as she and the Avatar arrested someone. The vision changed to the city hall courtroom where said prisoner was being sentenced then a quick flash of Aang in the Avatar state before the vision ended as The Lieutenant tied them up. Unaware that Bruce was hiding behind one of the wooden pillars.

High above Amon had confiscated the microphone from the announcer to address the stadium. "I believe I have your attention, benders of Republic City. So once again, the Wolfbats are your pro-bending champions." He announced to the crowds. "It seems fitting that you celebrate three bullies who cheated their way to victory" He pointed to the crowds. "..because every day, you threaten and abuse your fellow nonbending citizens just like the Wolfbats did to their opponents tonight." The Bending citizens in the crowds glared at this man who was calling them out just who did he think he is.

"For you see the so called Ms Marvel was telling the truth." Far below the ring the defeated and now Bendingless Wolfbats emerged from the water weak and powerless. "Those men were supposedly the best in the bending world and yet it only took a few moments for me to cleanse them of their impurity." Amon then looked to the crowds. "Let this be a warning to all of you benders out there if any of you stand in my way, you will meet the same fate." The crowds and Benders all gasped in complete shock.

"Now, to my followers: for years the Equalists have been forced to hide in the shadows, but now we have the numbers and the strength to create a new Republic City." Amon addressed his followers who he knew were somewhere in the crowds. "I'm happy to tell you that thetime for change has finally come. Very soon, the current tyrannical bending regime will be replaced by a fair-minded Equalist government. You and your children will no longer have to walk the streets afraid! It's time to take back our city."

While Amon made his speech far below restrained to the arena supports, were Kamala and the Fire Ferrets who had just regained consciousness. They struggled to free themselves from their restraints.

"How are we gonna get out of here?" Mako asked.

"Kamala can't you stretch us free?" Korra asked.

Kamala tried to stretch out her hands and feet to break free. However she couldn't given the electric shock had left her weakened. "No I can't the shock hit me so hard I can't stretch." Kamala said.

Just then appearing out of nowhere was Bruce Banner who quickly hurried to them. Just as Korra noticed him. "Bruce!" Korra said in surprise.

"Shh!" Bruce said with a finger to his lips. "Hold tight I'm get you kids out of here." He started pulling at the bola ropes to get them free.

Suddenly Kamala's eyes widened in horror when she saw Bruce was soon in trouble. "BEHIND YOU!" She called. Bruce turned round only to receive an electrical shock to the shoulder by the Equalists wielding a shock glove. He cried out in pain as said Equalist tossed him to the side tumbling to the ground.

"Nice try but I'm afraid no-one is coming to save you now." The Equalist said however much to everyones surprise Kamala just started laughing. Korra and the bending brothers were surprised what could the young Avenger be laughing about.

"Hey what are you laughing at?!" The Equalist demanded.

"Oh ho pal in a few seconds you're going to wish you hadn't done that." Kamala smirked much to everyones confusion.

However what they didn't know was the affect that electro shock had done to Bruce. He groaned as he got up but then he looked up with his eyes pure green in rage growling as suddenly he was going through a transformation.

"Why whats he going to do? We have all the Avengers secured no one can help you Benders now!" The Equalist said indignantly.

However he noticed how Korra, Bolin and Mako bore a look of shock and terror as they saw the transformation going on behind him as Banners muscles grew and his air bending robes were being torn to pieces and his skin turning a shade of green.

"Huh?" The Equalist said. "What are you kids gaping at?" Then suddenly a growl came from behind him and he turned to face a shadow and his eyes soon shrunk in terror.

"Not all of The Avengers." Kamala smirked.

High above unaware Amon continued his speech. "For centuries, benders have possessed an unnatural advantage over ordinary people." Amon said as his followers had the crowds at the point of their shock gloves. "But thankfully, modern technology has provided us with a way to even out the playing field. Even to help over come the power of the so called Avengers." Cap glared at Amon as he was still surrounded at the mercy of AIM and the shock glove wielding Equalists.

"Now thanks to my own allies Advanced Ideal Mechanics, anyone can hold the power of a chi blocker in their hand. Their technology is an example to how Non Benders no longer have to live in fear."Amon said. "My followers and I will not rest until the entire city achieves equality, and once that goal is achieved, we will equalize the rest of the world. The revolution has begun!" Amon raised his fist into the air proclaiming his words.

However his speech was short lived when a loud inhuman roar echoed all around the stadium spooking everyone. The Avengers however knew that sound all too well indeed. Seconds later two of the Equalists who restrained the Fire Ferrets were flung into the air and sent crashing onto the ring floor right at Amons feet. They all looked in shock when right behind them something large slammed into the arena floor covered in smoke.

Amon looked and his eyes widened, as something rather large and muscular was emerging from the clearing smoke. As Tenzin and Lin began to regain consciousness they looked at what was going on and gasped.

While in the VIP booth Asami, Tony and Hiroshi looked in shock and awe as did the Equalists and AIM agents who had them trapped.

"Wha..what is that!?" Asami questioned while Tony could only smirk.

"That kid…." He said turning to her.

"…..Is a Hulk."

The Incredible Hulk himself had come forth and let out an enormous roar echoing all around the stadium which practically shook the whole room.

Far below Mako, Korra and Bolin all had a look of frozen shock on their faces still restrained to the ropes of course. "What I said about how I could beat him up." Bolin squeaked. "I take that back." Just then Pabu swam over and climbed on the ropes then getting Bolin's attention.

"Pabu!" Bolin said in joy then set to work. "Listen up, buddy." Out of nowhere he started chattering his teeth over and over again. While Korra, Kamala and Mako looked in confusion just what was Bolin doing?

"Stop fooling around!" Mako said beginning to get annoyed.

"I'm not! I'm trying to save us!" Bolin protested and he was right. For then Pabu started biting at the ropes to get them free.

"Thats it good boy Pabu!" Kamala cheered. "Bolin you never cease to amaze me!"

"Well I have my moments." Bolin accepting the praise. "Pabu's not just a one trick poodle pony." Which received a hopeful smile from his brother and Korra.

While on the stage Amon came face to face with the Hulk who glared at him in rage. The Equalists in the stage were completely taken by surprise at he arrival of this green beast.

Acting quickly Cap took advantage and swung his shield into the AIM mechs arm severing it off and the Super Soldier ran up and leaped over the mech, recovered his shield and jammed it into its power source causing the mech to go limp. Lin quickly recovered and formed a blade from her gauntlet and jammed it into the mechs leg causing it to fall while Tenzin let out an air tornado blasting away the Equalists.

However the air bending master looked back to the Hulk and saw the shorts it was wearing. "Steven…is that thing Bruce?"

"Yes Tenzin its a long story." Cap said. "You two alright?" He then asked the two benders.

"We're fine." Lin said.

The mechs in the ring stepped forward and fired metal restraints at the green beast. Only for Hulk to grab them and crush them in his hands. He lunged forwards and the mechs charged. Only for Hulk to grab one mech by the arms and crushed it swinging it into the other mech before he grabbed them both slammed them into each other and tossed them away.

The Chi Blockers then ran forwards and tried to chi block the beast. However the nerve strikes didn't seem to have any effects they looked up to see a smirking Hulk.

"Clearly you don't know who I am." He smirked as he grabbed the two Chi blockers and tossed them back to their master. Who simply glared behind his mask.

"What are you?!" He exclaimed.

Hulk smirked at that. "HULK IS THE STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!" He yelled.

The Equalsits and the AIM agents were so distracted in the VIP booth that Asami tried to take advantage of this. She quickly grabbed the closes Equalist and turned his shock glove on himself shocking him before she flung him over into the AIM agent. "Hey!" One Equalist cried and tried to shock Asami only for suddenly a blast to send him crashing into the opposite wall.

The source was Tony who now wore one of his repulser gauntlets on his right wrist. "Sorry fellas yours maybe good." When suddenly flying to view were different parts of the armour which one by one latched onto Tony the arms and legs followed by the chest piece which glowed from the arc light. The final touch was the helmet. "But mines better." The face plate then swung into position fully transforming him into Iron Man.

The AIM Agent recovered and tried blasting Iron Man only for him to lunge forwards punch the agent in the gut then roundhouse kicked him into the wall. Another Equalist tried to attack him only for Asami to then leap up and kick him to the ground. Though his face plate didn't show it Tony was very impressed.

"Nice moves kid." Tony smirked behind his face plate.

"Thanks." Asami thanked.

"Thats my girl." Hiroshi said proudly. However their celebration was premature as suddenly emerging from the window of the booth were AIM agents in jet packs armed with guns.

"You two get out of here GO!" Iron Man exclaimed to the Sato's who quickly took their leave of the booth. The agents open fired on Iron Man who ducked out of the way rolled to the ground then fired a missile from his right gauntlet which hit one AIM agent sending him out of control.

"Okay Avengers!" Iron Man called on the coms. "Time to work for a living!" He blasted off out of the booth.

Hearing that message Hawkeye worked fast pulling out one of his trick arrows and jammed it into the ground which sent out an electric pulse shocking the Equalist's all around him and Black Widow. TaskMaster who wore insulated armour was unaffected but Widow took the opening and performed an arc kick knocking him back. While Hawkeye drew an arrow and fired it at the Equalist about to attack him and it tied her up, tripped and she shocked herself with the glove.

"Avengers we need to move fast!" Captain America called on the coms. "Iron Man take care of the airal fighters Hawkeye draw the hostiles away from civilians Lin, Tenzin and I will handle the ground and keep the fighting here!"

The Equalists and AIM agents soon reappeared surrounding Cap, Lin and Tenzin. The Super Soldier acted quickly and tossed his shield at an incoming Equalists hitting him in the gut while Lin leaped over the returning shield and extended metal cables around an incoming AIM flyer and swung him into the ground. Tenzin quickly bent the air around him and blasted one incoming Equalist away.

In the ring Hulk was ready to smash Amon only for suddenly an incoming surprise happened a laser blast hit the green beast forcing him back. He looked up and saw what looked like an airship with futuristic weapons compliments of AIM no doubt with a large Equalist symbol on it. Suddenly cables broke through the glass dome and the bottom extended out as platforms. With which Amon, the Lieutenant, and the other AIM Agents and Equalists to take their leave.

"Farewell beast we shall meet again." Amon glared as the cables pulled them up into the air. However Hulk wasn't gonna let these guys get away.

"Oh no you don't!" Hulk growled. However just as he was about to leap up and attack. One AIM agent pulled out a trigger device and pressed it. A beep sounded off below the arena and the centre exploded catching Lin and Cap completely by surprise and saw Amon and his troops getting away.

However what caught Lin by surprise was the Hulk who leaped out of the explosion and onto the opposite stands with barely a scratch. "Heh…thrill ride." He brushed off and put out the fire on his shoulder.

"How the hell is he even possible?" Lin gaped in surprise.

High above Black Widow clashed against TaskMaster who had his sword drawn which clanged against Widows Tonfa's only for him to push her away and tossed his shield identical to the way Captain America would, but Widow countered it by kicking the shield back at him but he caught it.

"How are you even here Masters!" Widow demanded.

"Well lets just say what you Avengers break. AIM can easily fix." TaskMaster smirked from behind his mask.

"So your still their pet?" Black Widow then retorted.

"They're moneys green, and as a bonus I get to kill you to settle the score." Task Master said as he drew a bow and fired arrows much like Hawkeye but Black Widow ducked and dodged the arrows then fired blasts from her gauntlets at her opponent.

Who just dodged out of the way to avoid the blasts. The two then engaged in hand to hand combat. However every attack and punch Widow made TaskMaster countered it and flipped over Widow and kicked her in the back then performed a swing kick which Widow narrowly ducked to avoid. Suddenly Task Master drew a staff which Black Widow blocked with her own. However she recognised those moves all too well indeed.

"Wait..how how do you know those moves." Black Widow exclaimed. "I I thought I destroyed the Red Room program!"

"Who said I went to the Red Room? After our last duel I decided to pay your dear sister a visit." TaskMaster said much to Widows horror. "And I gotta say she didn't put up nearly as good a fight as you did same can be said of your old buddies."

Black Widow growled in anger how dare he mention her sister like that yelling and pushed TaskMaster off of her. She fired her gauntlet blasters at Task Master only for him to pull his sword and deflect all the blasts before he flipped over Natasha and fired a cable from his left gauntlet catching her leg and tripping her up. He landed above her and trained his sword at her throat.

"Don't you learn a thing Romanoff I know every move of ever hero Avenger or otherwise. You can't beat me!" TaskMaster exclaimed.

Widow however just smirked. "You may know my moves Masters, but do you know what I have?"

"What?" TaskMaster asked and soon got his answer.

"A Hulk." Black Widow smirked.

Almost on cue the Hulk landed behind TaskMaster and before he could react the green beast swatted him away and sent him hurdling into the waters below the ring. The Hulk turned to a grateful Black Widow.

"Thanks big guy." She thanked.

"Your welcome." Hulk thanked with a smile.

Iron Man was in the air firing repulser blasts at the airal AIM Agents who were shooting rifles at him. Iron Man turned and fired rockets from his shoulders hitting the agents jet packs causing them to explode.

Suddenly he heard a cry for help from below. The armoured Avenger noticed a family at the mercy of two of the Equalists armed with shock gloves. They were about to shock them. When Iron Man landed between them and blasted them with a repulser blast. However, he didn't notice an Equalist come up behind him and shock him though the armour protected him it forced him to the ground. The Equalist tried to shock his head pinning him to the ground.

However Iron Man powered up his uni beam and blasted the Equalist into the air and sent crashing into the stands. The Armoured Avenger went over to an unconscious Equalist and removed the shock glove. On the hud Iron Man scanned the glove.

"Hmm there's something familiar about this?" Iron Man wondered.

"It is sir." JARVIS then said. "I do not wish to raise an alarming the make and design of these shock gloves is 70% similar to your own repulser technology."

To say Tony was shocked and appalled was an understatement. "Wha…but thats my tech! These guys are using my tech against me!" He simply crushed the shock glove in his armoured hand. "I hate cheap knock offs."

Suddenly Iron Man was blasted in the back by something. He looked to see there was still some airel AIM agents in jet packs. So The Armoured Avenger took to the sky dodging the shots before firing a repulser blast to dis arm one agent then landed a punch to the pilot as he slipped behind and pulled out some vital circuits disabling the jet pack. Another agent attacked but Iron Man dodged the shot then fired his shoulder rockets which destroyed another jet pack forcing the AIM Agent to ground level.

However little did the Avengers or the Avatar know that some of the bender citizens being evacuated were suddenly taken by an invisible force.

Far below the crumbling ring Pabu squeaked in terror after hearing that noise. "Hey hey Pabu it's okay." Kamala assured.

Bolin agreed. "Yeah just a little explosion and The Avengers fighting the bad guys." He chattered his teeth again communicating with his pet. "Keep chewing, you're almost through it!"

Pabu kept chewing and chewing until finally he got through the rope freeing the Fire Ferrets and Kamala. They all stood up and the ropes fell.

"Yes! Great job, buddy!" Bolin cheered.

"You were brilliant Pabu!" Kamala cheered holding up the small Fire Ferret. "Remind me to get you and extra treat for later." She said kissing his nose.

Korra ran out and froze the water below her feet in the drink she looked up and saw Iron Man still fighting ariel AIM Agents with jet packs. However she was more focused on the fleeing Amon heading up to his armed airship which was firing all its energy cannons.

"I'm going after Amon!" Korra called to her teammates.

Kamala placed Pabu down next to Bolin. "Not without me you're not!" She suddenly shrunk down and her clothes fell to the floor and she re-enlarged revealing herself now in her Ms Marvel outfit and mask. She ran out to join Korra.

"Be careful!" Mako called to them.

"You guys take care try and help the Avengers if you can!" Ms Marvel called.

The boys with Pabu in tow hurried out of the ring to the lift. Ms Marvel and Korra looked at each other. "Hold tight." Korra said as she dived with her into the water. Under the surface the Avatar bent the water around them then moments later they came shooting out of the water in a whirl pool shooting right past Iron Man who'd just blasted down another AIM Agent.

However as they drew closer to the sky light suddenly they ran out of both momentum and water. They fell backwards screaming Ms Marvel was about to extend her large hands, suddenly zooming out of nowhere latching onto one of her hands was a metal cable. Ms Marvel quickly grabbed onto Korra with her free hand the two girls looked and saw the one responsible was Lin she was swinging on the wall from another cable Korra and Ms Marvel nodded as they prepared themselves. Lin circled the arena, and once she had enough momentum she shot the two girls into the air and out of the skylight.

They were able to catch up to the escaping Equalists and while Ms Marvel extended her hand to swat down the Lieutenant and one of the Chi blockers. Korra performed a fire arc and blasted down two AIM Agents. The two landed on the platform of the cable.

They saw Amon above them glaring and likewise the two glared at them. "Tell MODOK this is from us!" Ms Marvel exclaimed.

Korra then let loose a large fire fist up into the air and inside the airship it exploded blasting back some AIM Agents and Equalists. While Amon just looked down on his foes glaring before he left.

Korra and Ms Marvel looked down and saw what exactly the highly armed airship was shooting at. For all around the arena, Lins surrounding forces and Airships had been destroyed burning in the harbour.

"Whoa, AIM doesn't joke around." Korra gasped.

"They played us!" Ms Marvel gasped.

Far below, Cap had just slammed the last Equalist with his shield. He looked up and saw Lin was making her way to the sky light. He realised she and the girls would need help.

"Tenzin I need to get up to the sky light!" Cap called to Tenzin. "Can you give me an air blast up there?!"

"I might be able to Steven but I don't know if you'll have enough momentum to make it all the way." Tenzin said.

"Do it!" Cap called willing to take the risk. So Tenzin began bending the air around the super soldier and with one lift the air blast shot him into the air soaring towards the skylight.

Black Widow managed to knock down the last AIM Agent while Hawkeye managed to shoot down another airborne AIM Agent with a jet pack.

"I had that you know Clint!" Iron Man called on the coms.

"Hey you snooze you lose tin man." Hawkeye said. Suddenly they saw Cap zoom into the air however Black Widow realised he wouldn't have enough momentum to reach the top.

Cap was about to lose momentum when suddenly. "CAP CATCH!" He looked and saw Black Widow had tossed him one of her gauntlets and he quickly put it on, and fired the grappling hook and it caught onto the metal beams of the skylight and he shot up all the way.

Lin soon reached the top of the sky light, then quickly extended one of her gauntlet cables which caught onto the cable platform of an incoming Chi Blocker about to attack Korra and Ms Marvel. The Chi Blocker tumbled to the ground.

However two more came down the cable and kicked the two girls of the platform. They landed on the glass windows which cracked upon landing. Lin latched her cable onto one of the cable platforms she was about to swing up until the Lieutenant struck her in the back with his electro batons she screamed in pain as she hit the ground.

Korra and Ms Marvel were about to go help, until they suddenly found themselves surrounded by Eaqualists and armed AIM Agents. However just as the Liutenant was about to strike Lin down, swinging up from the sky light was Captain America who gave a spin kick to knock the Lieutenant across the glass roof.

The Lieutenant glared at his opponent. "Son didn't your parents ever teach you it's impolite to hit a lady!" Cap said in a battle pose shield at the ready.

"Heh you know I was hoping for a rematch!" The Lieutenant glared as he charged at the Super Solider as he quickly avoided an incoming attack from the electro batons and blocked another with his shield.

Cap then threw his shield at the Lieutenant who knocked it away with his batons for Cap to catch it then throw a punch at him only for the Lieutenant to swing his Electrified Batons at the Captain who narrowly avoided them by bending back and then performing a leg swipe tripping him up but the Equalist Lieutenant flipped backwards only for Cap to swing his shield his opponent cleverly grabbed the shield between his feet and tossed it to the side. He smirked at his opponent.

"And here I thought you were more than a shield Captain." The Lieutenant glared.

In response to that Cap simply took off his helmet revealing his face. "Lets see." He said tossing his helmet away and like wise the Lieutenant put away his batons.

"Lets." He charged at the Captain as they engaged in a good old fashioned fist fight. The Lieutenant swings some punches at Cap who ducks to avoid them before throwing several of his own. Then lands a spin kick to knock the Lieutenant back.

Korra narrowly dodged a laser shot from the AIM before she performed a Fire arc knocking him down to the ground followed by a large fist to the ground compliments of Ms Marvel. Suddenly an Equalist tried to chi block her but she quickly enlarged her legs to tower over them then swung a punch sending the Equalists tumbling off the roof. Korra then unleashed a fire fist upon an incoming Chi Blocker who dodged it, but Ms Marvel acted quickly and extended her leg to trip him up and Korra gave him an uppercut to the jaw kicking him away.

However their enemy wasn't that easily defeated for the cannons above trained on the two heroes. They were powering up. Korra heard the humming noise and saw what was happening. As the energy cannons opened fire.

"Look out!" Korra yelled tackling Ms Marvel to the ground to avoid the blast but the impact blew a large hole in the glass roof. The impact shook the whole roof nearly knocked both Captain America and the Lieutenant off the roof. However the Lieutenant used his electro batons to deliver an upper cut to the super solider knocking him down to the ground.

Lin had regained consciousness when she noticed that Cap was at the mercy of the Lieutenant. She had to help him and it was then she noticed his shield was close by. She shot up.

The lieutenant readied his baton to deliver the blow until suddenly a familiar shield struck the Lieutenant in the back knocking him back. He turned round to see who threw it and he looked to see Lin who delivered a punch to the face followed by a swipe of the shield. Knocking him back.

He was about to attack the two again until Korra attacked with a fire arc. Cap stood up from the floor and looked to see Lin offering him a hand he smiled and accepted it. She then handed back his shield.

"You're right it is handy to have a shield, you sure know how to handle yourself in a fight Rogers." She said.

"Same to you but I'm no-one special I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." Cap smiled. "Oh and it's Steve by the way."

Lin couldn't help but blush at that but she wondered why she did. However compliments would have to wait as now they had bigger problems. Namely those energy cannons.

"Well getting to Amon is gonna be tough with those cannons over our heads." Lin observed as the cannons kept firing on her forces below and were readying to attack them. "This isn't good."

However in that moment the Super Soldier heard a certain sound as the clouds began to gather around the arena. Suddenly booming sounds emerged. As Ms Marvel neutralised the last Equalist with an enlarged fist slam to the ground. It was then the sound got her attention. She gasped realising that sound all too well.

"What is that?" Lin questioned.

"I know what it is." Cap realised.

"What?" Lin asked.

Cap had only one answer to that question. "Thunder."

He was right claps of thunder rained down from the sky and surrounded the airship surprising the Equalists and AIM Agents on board. Suddenly a bolt of thunder struck the port side and the energy cannons exploded. Shooting down from the sky something impacted the ground shocking the remaining AIM agents and Equalists. The lightning faded and it revealed it was none other than…

"Well look who it is, am I always the one who has to save the day." Thor smiled.

Cap just chuckled. "I'd expect nothing less from the God of Thunder."

Lin almost immediately recognised the individual. "Hold on your that nut who showed up at my precinct?" she pointed.

Thor just chuckled at that. "Ah yes a pleasure of course to see you again Lin of Beifong." He said before turning to Cap. "My apologies for my late arrival Captain, I on my way to Air Temple Island to join you when I heard the attack on this arena."

"Well Thor your timing couldn't be more perfect." Cap said looking up to the air gunship. "Care to send that second rate gunship to the scrap heap?"

"It would be my pleasure!" Thor smirked as he swung his hammer Moljnir and soared up into the sky as soon as he was above the ship he twirl his hammer as thunder gathered around it and with one strike he tossed the hammer towards the port side cannons destroying them upon contact and Thor recalled his hammer with his hand then did a similar action to the starboard side.

Inside the control room of the ship the whole control system went haywire just as TaskMaster arrived on the bridge.

"Sir the weapons are destroyed and the controls are going haywire." One AIM agent reported. "If Thor attacks again it could destroy us we must retreat or we'll lose all power."

Amon looked out to see said God of Thunder glaring at him through the window. It was clear he knew all too well of the Equalists and this was his way of sending a message.

"The surprises never cease." Amon simply said. "Full retreat."

"Yes sir." The AIM Agent said.

Meanwhile Korra and Ms Marvel ganged up on the Lieutenant with Korra throwing several fire kicks which he avoided. Suddenly Ms Marvel swung her large fists around in a whirl to slam him back.

"EMBIGGEN!" She yelled as her left fist slammed into the lieutenant He swung his Batons at Ms Marvel forcing her to bend backwards giving Korra room to leap over her and deliver a spin kick ignighted with fire to the face.

Suddenly TaskMaster swooped in on his jet pack and kicked Korra to the side. She got up and was face to face with the copy cat villain. "So your this Avatar I've heard so much about. Gotta say I'm not impressed. Lets see what you can do."

"Okay if your so keen!" Korra smirked however Ms Marvel was worried she knew what Masters was capable of.

"Korra be careful TaskMasters a copy cat villain you fight him once he's as good as you!" Ms Marvel warned while avoiding an electro strike from the Lieutenant.

Korra attacked the villain with several fire fists and fire kicks. TaskMaster blocked Korras kicks and dodged her fists before he drew his shield and swung it at the Avatar, she recognised that move from Cap. Then the masked villain thew several punches and placed kicks which she was able to block quickly she recognised that as Black Widows combat moves. She was pushed back by a swing kick.

"Whoa its like fighting all the Avengers." Korra breathed. Suddenly she realised it and remembered what Kamala said about using ones strength to her advantage.

While Korra battled TaskMaster Cap watched and saw that Amons ship was leaving. He looked to Lin who had every intention of going after them.

"We'll handle them go!" Cap called as he hurried to help Ms Marvel. Lin extended her cable and it latched onto one of the hanging cable platforms from the ship. She soared up into the air retracting her cable.

Ms Marvel was blasted across the roof by the Equalist Lieutenant who swung his batons at her which she blocked with her enlarged hands. However she wasn't insulated and it stung her exposed skin. She enlarged her feet and leaped into the air and swung a punch from behind only for the Lieutenant to toss his baton at her and it shocked her right in the gut. She tumbled to the ground.

"You're out of your depth kid, you don't have the Avatar to help you now." The Lieutenant taunted.

"No." Ms Marvel groaned. "But I have something you don't…back up!"

She was right for swooping in to the rescue was Thor who with one strike of his hammer swatted the Lieutenant off the roof tumbling into the waters below.

Korra dodged TaskMasters incoming arrows then swept the floor blasting fire arcs which he jumped with the agility of Black Panther to avoid. However Korra swooped under and let loose a fire fist behind him catapulting him across the roof. TaskMaster swung his shield like a frisbee but Korra kicked it away instantly which hit him and she flipped backwards kicking him in the jaw.

TaskMaster drew his sword and with Hawkeye's skills and Black Widow's combat moves he sliced at Korra, who dodged all his attacks. Masters thrusted his sword but The Avatar grabbed his arm then kneed him in the gut and tossed him to the floor causing the glass to break.

Korra threw a fire dropkick but TaskMaster avoided it and glared at the Avatar through his mask. "H..How is this possible I know all the moves of The Avengers?!"

"Yeah but you never had a chance to train with them!" Korra said as she avoided dodged a swing from his sword. She threw several fire fists towards Masters then followed by a fire spin kick. However TaskMaster swung his sword with the intention of striking the Avatar down. However as he swung his sword Korra dodged it then swung round and she struck him in the head with her elbow catapulting Masters back.

Masters propped himself on his sword. However before he could recover The Avatar performed several fire kicks which blasted him clear off the roof and plummeting into the water below.

"Yeah!" Ms Marvel cheered however when Korra landed back on the roof, it was a short victory for the glass cracked with her heavy landing. It shattered below her feet and she screamed falling through.

"KORRA!" Ms Marvel yelled and she dived down after her. Thor and Cap looked with panic while above Lin saw this happen she knew that Ms Marvel had no way of stopping their fall. At the same time she couldn't let Amon or AIM get away, it was either save them or stop the threat.

Ms Marvel fell from the skylight and reached out her stretched hand. Korra grabbed her hand as she pulled her in close. However as Ms Marvel tried to reach out with her free hand to a ledge she couldn't stretch far enough. She looked at Korra with terror in her eyes it looked like they were done for. When suddenly diving in from above was Lin she extended her cable out from her right gauntlet which Korra caught as did Ms Marvel. Lin extended out the line from her other gauntlet to snag on one of the banners. They swung from it but suddenly the banner gave way and they were about to fall to the ground.

Swooping in out of nowhere was Hulk, who grabbed the three women in his arms and latched onto the ledge dragging along it, before bounding off and crashing into the opposite stands.

Hulk extended his arms and Lin, Korra and Ms Marvel were shaken up but unharmed. They caught their breath from all the adrenaline and looked to their green saviour.

"Nice catch Hulk thanks." Ms Marvel thanked.

"Your welcome." Hulk smiled.

Lin looked to the two girls as she got up from Hulks chest. "You two alright?" Lin asked.

"We're fine thanks to you." Korra thanked as they all got up.

"Ahem!" Hulk growled getting their attention.

"Oh and you too big guy." Korra quickly thanked.

"Just saying." Hulk mused.

"Don't mention it, kid." Lin said to them but looked up to see the fleeing Airship above. "Looks like we lost this one."

"Well at least everyones safe, thats important." Korra said to her.

"Yeah." Lin said. "Look ki…uh Korra maybe I've been a little too harsh on you lately same goes for you Kamala. I guess I should've taken the time to get to know you before I judged maybe I let my emotions cloud my judgement."

Korra was rather taken aback by what the esteemed chief of Police just said. "W..wow thanks, but it's okay we've all made the same mistake."

"Yeah but what matters is how we learn from it." Ms Marvel agreed.

Just then Thor came down with Cap in hand as he slowly hovered down to the rafters. "Is everyone okay?" Cap asked.

"All okay here Cap." Ms Marvel said, just then Hulk noticed the god of thunder.

"Well well goldielocks so nice you could finally join us." Hulk smirked.

"Heh ha glad to see you too my brutish friend, good to see your time here hasn't changed you." Thor chuckled but was relieved to see his comrades.

Just then Widow and Hawkeye arrived with Mako and Bolin in tow. Who were more than happy to see their friends alive and okay. Mako wasted no time embracing Korra in a hug and Bolin did the same for Ms Marvel until they were in a group hug with Pabu on his shoulder.

"I'm so glad you're okay!" Mako said relieved.

"Me too!" Bolin agreed hugging both of them. "But I guess this isn't how I saw this final ending."

"Yeah not quite as planned." Hawkeye said just as Iron Man flew in and landed on the rafters as his helmet disassembled.

"Thor great to see you pal!" Tony greeted.

"Ah witty as always Stark good to see things haven't changed." Thor chuckled.

"So your this god of thunder huh I can see you live up to your name." Korra said impressed.

"Aye and if I am not mistaken you must be Avatar Korra, it is a pleasure to meet you." Thor said bowing in respect.

"Uh thanks just Korra is fine ah Thor." Korra said rather bashfully.

"So where've you been all this time?" Ms Marvel asked.

"Well my tale is a long one fair Kamala." Thor explained. "For after the Nornstones exploded I awoke somewhere known as the Fire Nation, I was stranded until a nearby village offered me refuge. Then I received a transmission from my Avengers ID card from Kamala and after the strange contraption traced her transmission. It took several days of travel without Heimdal to open the Bifrost, for faster travel but I soon arrived in the city and stayed concealed among the populace until I heard word of you being in the city."

"Well its good to have you here Thor." Cap said with a grateful smile.

"Yeah thunder and all." Hawkeye agreed.

"Now the whole teams assembled Amons gonna wish we weren't now!" Ms Marvel said rather optimistic.

Tenzin soon arrived and heard the whole conversation. "Well it seems I'll have to have Pema prep another room." Tenzin said but looked to Lin in concern.

"I can't believe Amon did this. I played right into his hand." Lin said ashamed as Tenzin placed a consoling hand on her shoulder.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, we were ready for the Chi Blockers but we didn't expect them to have this new arsenal." Cap said consoling her.

"Steven is right, he played us all." Tenzin agreed. "Republic City is at war." He said with conviction.

"Yeah I don't know how Amon or AIM pulled this off but somehow they were able to recreate my Repulser tech." Iron Man said looking at the shock glove in his hand. "Crude sure but its close enough to the real thing."

"Which means only one thing while we've been tracking breadcrumbs, they found the resources they need." Black Widow realised. "With AIM's help they could produce more advanced weaponry if they do the city won't stand a chance."

"Widow is right. I fear the future looks very grim indeed." Thor agreed as everyone looked out onto the battleground before them.

They realised that tonight was a declaration of war between Benders and Non Benders and now the most dangerous force on Earth was now at the helm. One thing was clear our heroes would need to be ready for the battles to come.

Authors Notes: Whew that had to be the longest yet but boy was it worth it. However it's very clear that Amon, The Equalists and AIM have gained an artillery advantage and new resources, on top of that they've managed to replicate Iron Man's repulsers. Now I should explain when I saw this episode of Legend of Korra for the first time I instantly thought those shock gloves reminded me a lot of Iron Mans repulsors minus the blasts anyway. So I decided to bring that element into the story. Also I thought having Kamala stand up to the Wolfbats and their cheating was an interesting perspective to have, despite the ending circumstances.

Now Thor has joined the team again, now my original plan was to introduce him next chapter but I decided that this would be the perfect time to make his appearance. After all ideas change over the course of time. Now The Avengers are assembled once again and they're gonna need it for now Republic City is at war, and who knows what Amon or MODOK will throw at them next, or who can be trusted.
