A/N: I cannot believe the number of people who have favourited or are following this story, normally my stories do not get many normally at most about 20 if I am lucky. 200 or so favouring it is out of this world and thank you to all of you who have and thank you to the ones who are following or have taken time to leave a review.

Makes me think I should perhaps write just Game of Thrones stories, I do have a few in note form at the moment and when this one is finished I will type them up properly and upload them or perhaps upload them when this story is only a chapter or two away from being finished.

The Maester prodded cautiously at the back of Tommen's head making sure that there was no more injury than the two small cuts to the boys scalp that he had already found. The boy had been lucky he concluded after hearing the nature of the attack on the youngster. He could not understand the ferocity of the attack on him by his older brother Joffrey, oh he knew some siblings did not get on at times, heck the Stark children had fought enough times over the years but this attack, this was just pure madness.

A slight hiss from Tommen warned the maester that he had found a particularly painful area on the young boys scalp. He removed his prodding fingers from the area and sat back a little, looking at the young prince.

"My apologies your highness," he said.

"No, it is not your fault my head hurts," Tommen replied.

The Winterfell maester studied Tommen for a few seconds as if trying to make his mind up of what to do or say. He knew he needed to ask Tommen what had happened, the kingsguard who had brought the prince to him, had been vague but in a brusque way about the incident but he had at least informed him who had attacked Tommen but not why.

The king paced Ned's office, his mind on many things, as he tried to rationalise the actions of not just himself but others over the last few weeks. He knew that the sentencing of Jaime Lannister to the wall was going to bring trouble and he knew the actions of what he had done were already rippling their way across the North and soon would reach the South. It was on this thought that he decided to confide in Ned about Cersie and Jamie and his suspicion about the three children that she had given him.

He stopped pacing and glanced at Ned as he made his way to the other chair in the office, he could see Ned watching him, concern clear in the mans eyes.

"There was another reason why I came to Winterfell Ned, not just because of my need for you to become my new hand but also to help me with a rather delicate and damaging matter."

Ned sat forward as he heard Roberts words, he was now more concerned than he had been prior to Robert's words.

"What is the matter Robert? That gives you such concern?"

The king gazed at him for a moment before opening his mouth to speak but before he could say anything there was a knock at his door. Ned shouted to whoever was on the other side to enter, the door opened and Jory Cassell, Ned's head of his guards entered.

"My Lord, Your Majesty," Jory nodded to the two men in the room.

Ned could see Jory was a little uncomfortable in Roberts presence and also he thought to himself, just a little worried about something. "What is it Jory?" he asked the man.

"There has been an incident my lord, with the king's sons. Prince Joffrey attacked Prince Tommen and was stopped by Jon," Jory told them, forgetting to call Jon by his new title.

It was not intentional but he was still having problems with remembering that Jon was a prince, he was not the only one in Winterfell who kept forgetting he knew but fortunately neither the king nor Lord Stark seemed to notice his slip up.

"Is Prince Tommen alright?" Ned asked him.

"Yes, my lord, a little shaken up and he has been taken to the measter, his brother Prince Joffrey has been carried to his chambers."

"Carried?" The king queried.

Jory gulped slightly at the king's question, he did not want to get Jon in trouble for punching the younger boy and if he was honest with himself, it was nice to see the arrogant young boy punched by Jon. Pity, he thought to himself that the prince had not been punched a few times before, he might not be such a little prick that he is.

"Prince Jon punched him sire, when he refused to go to the chambers assigned to him. He spat at the kingsguard that Prince Jon had asked to take the younger Prince to his chamber and so Jon punched him."

"Oh did he now," the king muttered, "Pity I missed seeing that."

Ned looked grim at Jory's words but he nodded at his man and told him that would be all and he asked that Jon be brought to him and the king.

Jory nodded his acknowledgement of Ned's words and left the room to go and find Jon.

"Of course my Lord," he muttered as he left, as he closed the door behind him he heard the king bellow with laughter. He would was shocked at the king's reaction to what had happened. The king was strange he thought to himself but then most nobles were so he should not be so shocked, especially the Southern nobles."

A/N: There was going to be more but this is another filler chapter (I think)!
