Damon started, "Bonnie, I know I'm not exactly your favorite person-"
"That's an understatement," Bonnie interrupted him.
Undeterred, Damon forged on, "... but the favor I'm asking you isn't for me."
He paused.
"I'm listening."
"Would you be willing to make a daylight ring for Rose?"
Bonnie considered for a moment.
"You know what? I really don't want to help you with anything, but Rose seems like a nice person, so yeah. I'll make her one. Maybe when she can go out in the daylight, she'll meet a nice guy and dump your worthless ass."
"Ouch," Damon said, clutching one hand over his heart dramatically. "That hurts."
"So... where's the ring? You did bring one for me to enchant, right?"
"Yeah," Damon said, and fished a ring out of his pocket. "Here."
Bonnie held out her hand and Damon dropped the ring into her upturned palm. Bonnie took one look at the ring and said immediately, "No."
"What? Why not?"
"Damon. This is a piece of junk you got at Hot Topic. Get her a better ring."
"Hey, it's stainless steel!" Damon protested. "Very durable and won't turn her finger green. And it's shaped like a cute little rose!"
"Seriously?" Bonnie said flatly. "That's your reasoning here? I know you can afford to buy her something better."
"I did try to get her a nice ring, but she said 'We're not getting engaged, Damon,' and wouldn't let me buy her one. And, by the way, she picked that one out herself," he said, indicating the rose-shaped ring which was still sitting in Bonnie's palm.
Bonnie handed it back to him and said, "Tell her the ring needs to have a gemstone in it. I'm sure you have some antiques laying around the house that belonged to your great-great-whatever that you could give her."
"Somehow I don't think she'd be more willing to accept a Salvatore family heirloom than a brand new ring."
"I think it would be more meaningful to your relationship for you to give her something that belongs to your family."
"You said you wanted her to break up with me."
"I said that to be mean because I don't like you. Now get out of here and don't come back until you find a better ring."
