Alaric walked into the Mystic Grill and saw Damon sitting at the bar with a woman he didn't recognize. So, of course, as one does, he immediately went over to see if the woman needed a convenient escape route.
"Is this guy bothering you?" Alaric asked as he slid onto the bar stool next to Rose.
"Yeah," Rose replied with a smirk. Despite this answer, she leaned close to Damon and slung her arm around him. "But he's my boyfriend, so I tolerate him."
Damon laid his head on her shoulder and cooed sarcastically, "Aww, that's the sweetest thing you've ever said about me."
"What, that she tolerates you?" Alaric said.
"No, that I'm her boyfriend."
