Chapter 12: You Need A Partner?
(Flara)
That. Was...Awesome!
Everyone started cheering loud after Mr. Sar motioned to Tony. Tony put his scarf down to his neck, that revealing the confident smile on his face, and walking over towards Oliver, a dark purple aura appearing around him and shattering completely. Oliver, already woken up, was now rubbing the back his head, still in pain and sitting on the floor. He looked up to see Tony standing in front of him, hand raised out to help him up. Oliver only growled at him and smacked Tony's hand away, getting up himself.
"That was total TAROUS SHIT!" Oliver yelled out. "Youze must have cheated, there's no way a fiya type like youze beat me. How did youze know when my Aquajet would end, huh!? Even I didn't know when!"
"To be honest dude, I was holding back. You're acting like it's a big deal that you lost. This is why you're here. Take this loss as something good. Look at this as a learning experience." Tony said calmly. "And honestly, you put up a great fight, you almost had me there. And I knew Aquajets only last about 2-3 turns, with a Rain Dance active it jumps to 3-5. I got lucky it landed there or I really would've gotten messed up."
"Learning experience!? Luck!? Youze is a Tarous shit teacher. I'm not gonna learn shit from youze. I'm gonna beat youze next time we fight. I'm outta here." Oliver said while walking towards the door and leaving. Tony tried to go after him but Mr. Sar stopped him. Tony just sighed.
"Don't worry about Oliver right now, let him cool off for a bit." He said to Tony before speaking to us. "As for everyone else, this was a perfect demonstration on the effectiveness of close combat attacks. Quick, efficient, well timed, and powerful attacks can win any fight. Did you all learn something from this fight?"
"Yes Mr. Sar!" Answered the class including me, all in different tones.
"Good, I would also like you all thank Tony here for the demonstration. Would've given thanks to Oliver as well but we'll just have to do it next time he comes." Mr. Sar said before we all have our thanks to Tony who smiled back at us sheepishly and, to me at least, cutely embarrassed.
"Now, I want everyone to pair up with someone and spread out to practice their attacks for the remainder of the class. Make sure not to get to out of control with them, we don't want any major accidents on our first day." Mr. Sar said.
As he finished talking, everyone started moving to pair up. Since I didn't know anyone in the class, at least anyone that I was cool with, I couldn't find anyone to partner with. Everybody got someone , leaving me by myself since we now had an odd number of Pokémon. Most of the older guys in class flocking over to Cassidy who seemed to be loving the attention.
*rolls eyes* Shocker
However...
"Hey." Someone familiar said cooly behind me with a tap on my shoulder. I jumped a bit and turned around to the fire monkey smiling warmly at me. I found I couldn't find my voice for a second.
I don't know whether Arceaus is trying to help me or torture me at this point.
"Uh h-hey." I said smiling back finally finding my voice after a few seconds.
"I noticed the odd number of trainees here and then noticed you. You need a partner?" He asked out of the blue.
"It would be a honor!" I beamed excitedly getting closer to him without knowing. "Seeing you fight was so awesome. You're an amazing fighter. No wonder you were chosen to be a trainer being so young. I've never seen anyone fight like that!"
"Yeah, I get that a lot." He said continuing to smile with a cute blush on his face, looking down at me while scratching the back of his head. "From what I can tell, I guess you're a long range girl huh?"
"Heh good guess. What tipped you off?" I joked.
"Just a feeling I got from you. Hope that doesn't sound too creepy." He said.
"Don't worry, it's not. I get the same feelings sometime from people. With me being part psychic type and all." I stated.
"Figured as much. So let's see what you can do. But we're gonna need a bit more space than this." He joked as I now noticed how close we were. I quickly moved back embarrassed.
"I am so so sorry, I didn't even notice I moved closer." I gave an embarrassed blush and smile.
"It's alright, I honestly didn't mind." He smiled back calming me down. "Now what close quarters move you have?"
"I only have Flame Charge right now." I said.
"Hmm, okay that's a good move. Let's see it, attack me." He said out of nowhere.
"Really, you sure? I don't want to hurt you Tony." I said not thinking and concerned before getting somewhat embarrassed. "Plus, I'm not that great with it.
"You know who you're talking to right?" He joked as I blushed, facepalming, and looked away realizing what I said. He winced a little and then walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder, causing me to look up at him. "Sorry, joking. Thanks though, I'll be fine, trust me. And don't worry, this is what trainings for. You'll do fine."
"Alright, thanks. Let's do it." I said starting to feel confident again.
"That's the spirit." Tony said moving away again and getting into a defensive stance. I then got into an attack stance. "Come at me."
I nodded before closing my eyes and picturing using flame charge. I then started stopping my feet, feeling the flames pick up around me.
Now
"FLAME CHARGE!" I yelled out, eyes still closed as I charged in the direction of Tony. I had the weirdest feeling that I passed him before I suddenly tripped on something, lost my flame charge and momentum, and began tumble rolling towards the wall. I finally opened my eyes after I hit the mats, leaving me upside down as Tony walked up to me. I then noticed a light purple aura glow around my body and felt a slight boost in energy before the glow faded.
"Ugh, how was I?" I said looking up at him slightly embarrassed and dizzy as he bent down to my level.
"Weelll, that attack was pretty powerful but keeping your eyes open is an important part. Or else someone could do something as simple as just sticking their leg out like I did and trip you or worse." He stated softly.
"Oh crap..." I sighed as I flip over onto my knees. I looked back up to see him stick out a hand.
"Hey, don't feel down. All you have to do is improve. Practice makes perfect." Tony said as he pulled me up, still holding my hand much to my delight. "You said you're a long ranger fighter so this move doesn't have to be the most powerful. This is only the first class too, you'll get better."
"Thank you, I needed that." I smiled warmly as he smiled back. I didn't forget about the hand though and decided to call him out on it.
"You know you can let go now." I smirked. This caused him to look down quickly and let go.
"My bad, I completely forgot about it to be honest." He apologized embarrassed with a blush on his face.
Now he knows how I feel around him.
"It's fine. I honestly don't mind." I laughed and winked at him, causing him to blush more.
"Good to hear." Tony smiled. After he said that, loud bells (the Bronzongs) started to sounded, signaling the end of the class. "Well looks like class is over."
"Indeed it is. Thank you for being a great teacher, even though we didn't do a whole lot." I joked. "You going to a different class to train?"
"Nah, I'll be helping out Mr. Sar for the rest of the day. Next day will be someone new and so on and so forth." He explained.
"Oh well maybe you'll have the rest of the group then." I said.
"True, should be an interesting day then. Now as much as I want to continue talking to you, you'll be late for class." Tony joked.
"I enjoy talking to ya too. Maybe we can hang out sometime and talk more." I suggest happily before making my way to the door, noticing everyone had already left.
"I'd like that. Sounds...good..." Tony said drawn out looking off, seemingly zoning out. This dropped my smile and got me immediately concerned.
"Is something wrong Tony? You okay?" I asked concerned.
"Huh? No, everything's fine, thanks. You should go, we can talk later." He said with a forced smile after shaking his head to seemingly clear his thoughts. He was lying, as much as I wanted to know what was wrong though, I knew it wouldn't be good to pry. So I dropped it for now.
"Okay, I'll see you around. Thanks again for the help. Just know I can return the favor if you need to talk about anything." I said.
"I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Now go, I don't want you to be late." Tony said sincerely as I smiled back at him and went out the door. I looked back at him through the door window and saw that he looked stressed about something and the flame on his tail turn black which scared me a little. As much as I wanted to help though, I knew it wasn't my business at the moment so instead I left and made my way to the next class.
"When the time is right, I'll ask him. Maybe I can help." I said.
(Few hours later, end of classes, Team PPD Boy's room)(Flara)
"Yoooo, that fight sounded awesome. Wish I was there to see it." Dew said a bit disheartened that he didn't see the fight in combat class.
"Sounds like he really laid Oliver out." Spark commented.
"Oliver totally deserved it after what you told us. That whole team is full of self-centered, asshats." Snive said.
"Really need to have a spar with him one day. It would be epic." Tepper said pound his fist in his hand.
"You had some show girl. I know you enjoyed it." Ema stated with a wink up towards me.
"Yeah, you could say that." I said as I played with my wand absentmindedly as I thought about that class with a smile on my face.
Currently, I was with my usual (pretty much only) group of friends in the boys' dorm room. We all in a kind of circle with Ema and I sitting on chairs on the side with the door. Snive was curled up in her normal snake way on Dew's bed with Dew sitting on the floor leaning against his bed to our right. Tepper laying on his bed across from us with his arm propped up to support himself up. Spark was laying on his bed to our left while reading a book.
"That's not even all that happened. He even helped me with my Flame Charge attack since I didn't have a partner." I said causing Dew to smirk.
"Ah sly dog, helping out a girl with her moves. Clever." Dew said before getting smacked in the back of the head by a vine owned by Snive. "Ow, heck was that for?" Dew questioned at her while rubbing the spot where he was hit.
"Get you mind out of the gutter." Snive said.
"My mind? I was just thinking about how gentlemanly Tony was being. You should get you mind out of the gutter for thinking that. I have much higher standards than that." Dew said with a fake posh accent for the last sentence.
"Oh that's TS and you know it." Snive said actually sitting up a little to glare at him.
"Got anyway to prove that? I would never go against that good morals that Arceus has bestowed upon me." Dew smirked at her.
"Really? Then what were those sounds that were coming from your side of the room in the middle of the night." Spark smirked at Dew while he only paled.
"W-what are you talking about Spark?" Dew asked nervously.
"You know exactly what he was talking about man. You woke us both up with that noise." Tepper chimed in leaving me confused as to what they were talking about.
"Is this some weird guy stuff or am I just being dumb?" Ema questioned just as confused as I was.
"H-how much did you guys hear." Dew laughed suspiciously.
"Near the end I think. Man you are pretty into that Pokemon huh? Didn't know you could get that loud." Spark laughed as Snive shot up from her spot and hopped off the bed.
"Ew ew ew, why do you guys have to talk about that with us here. Ugh, was I laying in it!?" She questioned erratically with a massive blush on her face before grabbing Dew's pillow and beating Dew in the head with it. It was then that I finally figured out what they were talking about.
"OKAY!" I yelled standing up quickly and blushing hard from embarrassment on the topic. "I think the we shall be taking our leave now."
"Oooooooh I just got it." Ema spoke up as she got up with me. "Honestly not surprised, especially if he did it to who I think it is."
"It's who you think it is" Spark said before Dew fishes the pillow out of Snive's gripped and launched it at an unsuspecting Spark who just laughed afterwards along with Ema and Tepper. I was a bit to embarrassed to laugh.
"You stop talking and you-" Dew pointed at Tepper. "I'll get you back for this as well Tepper."
"We shall see." Tepper taunted.
"Ugh, let's go girls. I need to wash my brain out with something. Anything." Snive huffed as she quickly existed the room with us in tow.
"See you girls tomorrow. Hope we didn't gross y'all out too much." Spark said.
"It's fine, just keep it PG next time. Byyeee." I said.
"Byyyeee" Spark said back as I shut there door behind me and caught up to Snive and Ema to head back to our room.
(Few hours later, girls dorm)
I've been trying to get some sleep for about an hour now, mostly tossing and turning in bed. I could fall asleep though, most likely cause my thoughts kept going back to what I saw happen to Tony earlier today. He looked so upset for some reason.
"Wonder if something's bothering him. Seems to be the only thing I can think of." I whispered.
"Bothering who?" Yawned Ema who I thought had been asleep.
"Oh shit, did I wake you?" I asked hoping I didn't.
"Eh kind of, mainly from the tossing and turning." Ema said as she sat up and stretched. "Mind getting the light."
"Got it." I said getting up too. I grabbed my wand and used a mixture of an ember and a psychic move to light to candles in the room to give off a decent bit of light, enough for us to see each other.
"Alright, what's got cha so worked up bestie." Ema said.
"It's about Tony..." I admitted looking away from her.
"Ah, your feeling for him are finally showing, you're starting to accept it, and want my help in asking him out." She smirking as I quickly shook my head and my hands in front of me.
"No, it's not that. Plus it's still too early to tell. It's about something I saw today with him." I stated seriously.
"Gotcha, sorry. Whatcha see?" Ema asked.
"Well right after my class with him ended we got to talking, just random talking. He even said we should talk some more next time which I didn't hesitate to agree to." I started.
"So date then?" Ema grinned excitedly.
"No date, and not the point." I quickly said before getting back to the main problem. "Anyway, he soon trailed off in our conversation, like he suddenly got lost in thought. I asked if something was wrong and he said nothing with a fake smile but I didn't want to pry. After I left, I looked back in the classroom to see his mood shift badly and the flame on his tail turning black. It was honestly terrifying."
"It honestly does. He must have something seriously going on with him. That black flame is definitely a sign." Ema stated.
"I know right. There has to be something I can do to help but what? He seems like something is really affecting him." I stated hopelessly. Even though I just met the guy, I don't like it when anyone's upset, especially if there's a chance that I can help them out.
"I'm not sure if there's anything you can do at the moment, especially with so little information. Maybe he'll open up once he gets to know us more but for now, prying is not the best option." Ema stated as I nodded.
"True true. I'm just glad I'm able to share that with someone." I said.
"I'm glad to be of help bestie. Now let's get some sleep. Sleep deprivation is not a good look for you and I want you to look your best when you see Tony tomorrow." Ema winked at me as I only blushed.
"Oh quiet you...but you are right." I said the last part quietly though she still heard it and giggled.
"By the way...where's Snive? She's not in bed." Ema asked.
"She went to the bathroom about a half hour ago." I stated.
"That long ago? Think she okay?" Ema said getting up out of her bed.
"I don't know. Let's just check, just in case." I said getting out of bed too. We moved to the door and pressed our ears against it to hear if anything's wrong. What we heard was...
~Yes Dew, take me. Give it to me.~
We both immediately backed away from the door as quietly and quickly as possible. While I was taken aback by the whole situation, Ema was trying to hold in her laughter.
"Wow...didn't think she had it in her." I stated shuddering a little.
"I did, especially after what she learned in the room today." Ema snickered. "Bet chu she's the type to want to be covered in it.
"Ah, ew. Gross. Don't put that image in my head. Especially when I need sleep. Who would even think about that stuff now." I said getting back into my bed.
"Come on, everyone does. Just gotta find the right person to do it too. I know you have someone in mind." Ema smirked before she blew out the candle and got back into bed.
"I would never do something like that to him, to anyone. Seems degrading..." I admitted.
"I would be flattered if Tepper jacked it to me. Shows that I'm on his mind and that he wants me." Ema stated as I gagged a little. "Oh right, brother. Sorryyyy. I'm sure Tony does it too, maybe even now. And upon seeing you..."
"GOOOD NIIIGHT EMAAAA!" I said loudly to her, cutting her off and causing her to giggle.
"Night innocent child." Ema said as I turn over in my bed, facing away from her.
Would he really do something like that? To me of all Pokemon? No...but maybe...
I then felt a kind of heat start to rise between my legs in that place. Though I quickly ignored it and rubbed my legs together to somewhat alleviate it as I fell asleep
Damnit Ema.
[Another chapter finished. Hoped you all enjoyed. As for my other story...I'm still trying to get it out but I can't promise anything. Anyway, onto the outro
