I don't own Kingdom Hearts, Marvel's Spider-Man, or What if...? They each belong to Disney, Square Enix, Marvel, and Sony. Alright, it's finally ready. The first Disney world of this series. I hope it was worth the wait. Now, before we dive in, let's reply to some reviews...
twilightnite13: Thank you, I'm glad you're liking it so far. If you're wondering why I used Tarkin instead of the Sith Lords, he's there on the Emperor's behalf. Darth Sidious is running the Empire while Vader is trying to get the plans to the Death Star back at the time. Hope that clears things up. Probably, Sora usually gets help and new friends where ever he goes.
NaruSaku fan in Kentucky: They will. Sora will play a big part in bringing them all together. And we all know those love birds will get together eventually or at the very least that they'll have feelings for each other. No Walt Disney cameo I'm afraid. Sorry.
Haxorus knight: I get the idea since he's now in Smash but no. We're sticking to Disney characters. Glad you're liking the references and story so far.
Minegun18: Glad you like it so far! :)
Colossal the Omega: Yeah, Spidey I felt would be the best role as leader and mentor for the team as he has years of experience behind him. Sora and Elsa have just started their way of becoming heroes. I'm glad you love the plot of this story. I'll do my best to make it as epic as possible.
the mysterious Mr.E: Glad your liking it so far. Nah, knowing Doom, they're a means to an end to him. He needed them to gather the Princess of Heart and claim Kingdom Hearts for himself. He keep his promises though as long they obeyed him. Hey, if you want to write that story, be my guest. Not quite an isekai anime fan but I'm sure there are plenty of fans who would want to read it.
KINGKAIJU5: Yeah, crazy right? But in an awesome way! Pretty much spot on for Spidey but you'll see how different events play to the role of the first game. I'm glad you are interested in Doom's Masters of Evil. Doom kept Hook in the group. He saw some potential in that pirate. Glad you like the reference and story so far as well.
SORARULES23: I'm glad you both like the story and the nod to your dimension in the multiverse. When I do get to Tarzan, I plan to combine both the game and the movie. That way we can see more of the beloved characters from the original film yet still get the moral for the KH version. And thanks again for the help with this chapter.
Dexter: Yeah, he has the relearn the lesson he learned in the first game. Instead of MJ and Miles, he has to work with Sora and Elsa. At least he now has backup in his fight, other than Miles. Great character and great Spider-Man. Expect to him to make an appearance in these new events. As I've just mentioned previously, Tarkin is there on the Emperor's behalf. Grievous wouldn't work as he would be dead by the time of the events of a New Hope.
Guest: No problem. Glad you're liking it so far. And your guess will be right. We all saw where they all ended where Donald turned his focus on the King. As for SnowSpider, I wanted a change of pace since this series will have more to expand upon the relationship. After all, it is an alternate timeline. Things would play out differently here.
Guest: Wow! Thanks and this was only the beginning. No problem. When Peter does reveal his identity to them, Elsa will have a reaction. Make her think about some things relating to her and Peter. It'll take some time but Spidey will be the leader and mentor Sora and Elsa need him to be.
Guest: Well, you'll just have to wait and see how things play out in the chapters to come. I don't want to spoil too much.
Guest: Well, I didn't want to make the chapter longer than it already was. No Crisis of Infinite Earths thing. Our heroes will keep the threat contained in their universe.
lyokoMARVELanime: Really happy you enjoyed the chapter with all of its nods to your fanfics. For now, yes, Spidey will be the Donald of a certain situation but at least we can understand him without subtitles. XD
Yeah, I wanted to include Roger and Anita since they were never in the original game. Expect more surprise appearance of those that didn't make the final cut of the series so far. Yes, I knew when doing this, I had to make Elsa or Sora make Spidey feel guilty enough to bring them along. That was a hilarious scene in Into the Spider-Verse, it just had to be in here too! XD
ParkerCooper: Thanks but I'm not currently doing requests for stories. My hands are full enough with my own stories.
With that out of the way, we can dive right into Wonderland... just like the title of the chapter says...
Chapter 4: Dive into Wonderland
After agreeing to work together to find their loved ones and save the universe as well as the rest of the Multiverse, Stan lead the group back to the first district as it's where he parked the GummiShip. Elsa turned her head to Stan, "I know this is unexpected but your sure your fine with us traveling along with Sora, Mr. Lee?"
"Call me, Stan," The part-time restaurant owner smiled, "And it's no problem at all, with Donald and Goofy unable to leave their world, Sora will need friends to help him see this through. Why it was highly requested by Queen Minnie herself I find two good people to travel with him and here you are."
"I wouldn't call us friends as we have all just met but," The Princess pointed out before giving him a nod, "Thank you."
Sora could hardly contain his excitement. He was finally was going to explore the other worlds. Not just that, he was going to get trained by an actual superhero and work alongside royalty. He couldn't wait to find Riku and Kairi and bring them along for the ride. Their dreams were finally coming true. It was too bad that they were lost out there in the worlds, the islands were gone, and the fate of the worlds was at stake. Still, Sora had to admit, "This is going to be so cool!"
Spider-Man didn't seem to comment much since he agreed to work with them, one thing seemed to puzzle his mind, "Here's one thing I don't get, our sun, moon, or our entire solar system. If Earth has been destroyed long ago and we've been living on its fragments all this time. Explain how we still have those things. Are the plants like Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune fragments too?"
Sora then raised his hand eagerly, "Oh! And Pluto!"
"Actually," Peter turned to the boy, "Pluto's no longer a planet."
"Really?" Sora blinked, "Since when?"
"2006," Spidey answered, "Because scientists deemed it too small to exert its orbital dominance and clear the neighborhood surrounding its orbit. It's really a dwarf planet."
Sora began to blink in confusion, "Do... dwarfs live on Pluto then?"
Peter had a dumbfounded expression under his mask as Elsa commented, "Well, I never heard of Neptune or Pluto but I'm confused why you never brought up Ceres."
"Also, a dwarf planet," Spidey commented.
"Cut them some like, some worlds haven't made those discoveries yet," Stan told the Web-Head, "To answer your question though, it's a bit complicated. Most worlds do have fragments of what Earth was like for example their sun and moon... the planets on Earth's old solar system can be seen as an illusion in order to protect the world order. They'll even make people believe life only exists in their world. Ours was one of the few, that still actually has those planets in our system."
"Okay... I guess that makes sense," Spidey admitted before asking, "But who's they?"
"Sora's ancestors," Stan answered, "The Keyblade Wielders before him. Even back then they had to protect the World Order."
"World Order?" Elsa wondered, "What's that?"
"There's a reason why no one is supposed to know about the outside world," Stan explained, "If everyone knew about our world, what they believe to be Earth, was not the only one in our universe. It would create a worldwide panic. Or worse, people like Doom wanting to take over them all."
"You know that makes sense," The Princess admitted, "So, while we're battling this Doom and the Masters of Evil, we can't let anyone know where we're from. So, nothing like this can happen again."
"Exactly," The GummiShip pilot nodded, "Likewise, you can't meddle with the affairs of other worlds other. Unless the Heartless are involved of course."
"Let me guess," Peter then spoke up, "We also can't say, recruit heroes from multiple worlds either like Doom did with the villains?"
"Yep," Stan nodded, "Besides, the ship has only been prepared for you three, Jiminy, Pluto, and myself."
Spider-Man sighed as he muttered to himself, "Well, so much for that idea."
"What was that?" Elsa asked just briefly overhearing him.
Spidey shook his head, "Nothing! Nothing!"
Elsa raised an eyebrow when suddenly a familiar voice called out to them, "Hey, guys!" Everyone turned around to see Yuffie, Leon, and Arieth approach them, as the ninja asked, "We wanted to wish you luck on your journey."
"We also wanted to make sure you're prepared for the journey ahead of you," Leon added, "We don't know how far the Heartless have spread or how influenced the Masters of Evil has had across the worlds."
"You should out the shops here," Yuffie suggested, "They've got some pretty neat stuff!"
"Yeah... we would if it weren't for a slight problem," Spider-Man replied as he stretched out his pants if pockets were there, "We're a little broke. Even if we did have anything, I doubt our currency would be acceptable payment."
"It's okay. You're in luck then," Arieth smiled before place 500 orbs in Sora's hands, "This is from all of us."
The two adults of the Guardians observed the orbs in Sora's hands. Elsa wondered, "What is this?"
"It's munny!" Yuffie answered happily.
Elsa raised an eyebrow before asking, "You mean money?"
"Nope," Yuffie shook her head, "Munny. If it was ordinary boring money then you could only spend it on one world but munny can change to any currency that world may use for money."
"Nice," Spider-Man stated, "Too bad it has a limit."
"Not quite," Leon shook his head before turning to Sora, "I'm sure upon fighting the Heartless, you've noticed similar objects upon their defeat."
"Yeah, I had no idea what it was," Sora admitted, "Until now at least."
"The good part of all of this," Leon added, "The more Heartless you defeat, the more munny you earn. With it, we have been able to help survivors that made it here."
"So, we can actually make a living by doing this," Spider-Man realized, "Okay, that's cool but where are we going to keep it?"
Elsa blinked, "Wait, you're not carrying it?"
"I never made pockets on this suit," Peter admitted, "What about you? Don't women usually carry purses or something?"
"You've been with me for hours now," Elsa pointed out, "Does it look like I've been carrying around a purse?"
"Then if you're not carrying it," Spidey slowly realized, "And I'm not carrying it then that leaves..." They both turned to the only guardian with actual pockets, "You can't be serious right now."
Sora smiled as he proudly placed the munny into his pockets as he gave Leon's group a nod, "Thanks, guys."
Spidey muttered in disbelief, "This kid's got more money than I ever had with an allowance."
Elsa had to agree, leaving a child alone with that much money, didn't seem like a very wise idea. She offered, "We could use some of it to buy a purse."
"Just as well," Leon stated, "He is the chosen one and it's more than likely to end up in his pocket of you defeat Heartless either way."
Aerith smiled for handing one more thing to Sora, "And this is from Leon."
Leon lowered his head in embarrassment as Sora instantly recognized the next object, "Cool! A healing potion!"
"Healing potion," Elsa blinked in confusion.
"Yeah, back on the islands," The teenage boy recalled, "One of the things I did with my friends is spared with them. As we got older, we tended to get a little rougher. So, our parents would give us these to heal each ourselves after the fight."
"They can be life-saving," Aerith smiled, "But they can't bring you back from death so use wisely."
Spider-Man turned to Leon, "So, what's up with you?"
"Oh, Squall's still upset that he got his butt kicked," Yuffie gave a teasing smile, "By a fourteen-year-old."
Both Peter and Elsa tried to hold back their laughter for a second time tonight. Sora beamed, "Aha! I knew I won that fight!"
"I went easy on you," He muttered in annoyance before turning back to Yuffie, "And it's Leon."
Aerith giggled before turning to the three, "I hope you find your friends." She then turned to the Princess, "And your sister."
"Look out for each other. Keep your spirits up." Leon told the Guardians, "And should you stumble upon survivors from other worlds or if you have any questions, don't be afraid to come back here."
"We will," Spider-Man nodded, "Thanks again for everything."
"Just stop both the Masters of Evil and the Heartless," Leon told them, "And we'll call it even."
With that, the group headed back into town. Sora turned to the group, "So, should we stock up before we leave or..."
"Hold on," Stan Lee cut him off, "There was one more thing I'm supposed to give you."
Stan lifted a finger as orange magic surrounded Sora, "Whoa! What was that?!"
"Now you can use fire magic," Stan offered, "Courtesy of Donald Duck. He thought you could use it against the Heartless."
Elsa turned to Stan in shock, "So, Sora can use magic now? Other than the Keyblade?"
"Yep, and he can learn even more magic out there," He nodded to the shocked Princess, "So, keep an eye out. The more he knows, the better."
Elsa simply nodded in response before turning to Spider-Man, "So, should we be off then or should we buy a few more of these healing potions before leaving?"
"Let's buy a few more of these potions," Spidey suggested, "Knowing my luck we're going to need it..."
Fifteen minutes had passed before they entered the GummiShip, they had prepared with potions as they knew the fight against the Masters of Evil would not be easy. As they entered inside the ship, the three stared in awe as Stan proudly announced, "Welcome, True Believers, to the Excalibur!"
"Excalibur?" The Princess tilted her head, "Like the legend?"
"I'm pretty sure there was a team of heroes who named themselves off it back on my world," Spider-Man shrugged.
Sora stared in awe as Stan continued, "This ship has it all. A living room. A fully stocked kitchen. A few bathrooms. And of course, bedrooms. Now, the plan was for Sora to take the guest bedroom but since Donald and Goofy are unable to come, I took the guest room. You three are free to use their rooms as well as the King's. Make yourselves feel at home."
With that, the three began to check out the rooms. The first one they checked out was the King's. As expected, the room was spotless with a king-sized bed. A few photos of himself, his closest friends, and another they assumed was the Queen. It was fit for, well, a king. Elsa picked up the photo of the king, "Is this... the King?"
Sora commented, "He kinda looks like a mouse."
"That's because I think he is," Spider-Man commented, "At least we know what he looks like."
They placed the photo back before heading over to Goofy's room. The bedroom seemed a bit messy but it did look homely. Nothing a little cleaning couldn't fix. There were a few images of Donald and Goofy as well as the King. The was also an image of himself as well as a younger-looking being that looked a little like him. They had to assume that it must have been his son. Elsa commented, "Goofy seems like a family man... er... dog. He seems like a good guy."
"Too bad I won't get to meet him," Sora frowned. It was nothing against Spider-Man and Elsa. He thought they were cool but the Watcher told him he and Donald were supposed to be some of his closest friends other than Riku and Kairi. He felt sad that he was never going to truly know them now.
Elsa reassured him, "Hey, who knows, maybe we'll end on this King's world one day. You'll get to meet then."
They then checked out Donald's room. It was interesting. It wasn't messy or anything like that. Far from it. However, there were a lot of photos of himself and very few of his friends, and several other ducks. Spidey commented, "And here I thought Ironman had an ego."
Elsa raised an eyebrow, "Ironman?"
"Long story," Spider-Man answered before stating, "So, our choices are the King's room, the messy room, and the duck room."
Sora gave it a thought before deciding, "Elsa should have the King's room."
Elsa blinked in shock before Spidey turned to Sora, "Now, hold on. Why does she get the King's room?"
"As much as I would like to sleep on a King-sized bed," Sora began to explain, "My mom said to treat girls with respect and Elsa's also a Princess. She would probably feel more comfortable there than in any other room."
Elsa blinked again before giving the superhero a smirk, "His mom taught him well."
"Yeah, yeah," Spidey nodded, hearing a similar lesson from his Aunt when she was alive, "Just take the room while we figure out who gets the other two rooms."
"Dibs on the messy room!" Sora happily announced.
Spider-Man shook his head, "Yeah, not going to happen. Dibs isn't going to help you in this situation."
Elsa blinked in confusion, "Dibs? What is that?"
"Okay fine," The Keyblade's Chosen thought of another option before offering, "Rock paper scissors? Best two out of three?"
"Rock paper scissors?" Elsa blinked, she had never heard of these sort of things before.
Spider-Man thought about it for a moment, "Fine. But no complaining if you lose."
Sora smiled as he prepared for the game for the messy room. The two placed a fist on the palm of their hands as Elsa watched the two. They declared, "Rock paper scissors!"
Moments later, Peter sulked as he sat on the bed of the duck room. He sighed, "Well, that could have gone better."
"Hey, tough luck," Sora smiled outside of the room, "I won two out of three. Fair and square."
Spider-Man stated, "I still think you cheated."
"How do you cheat in Rock Paper Scissors?" Sora asked in confusion.
"Don't be a sore loser," Elsa told the superhero, "You agreed to it and you lost." She then muttered to herself, "Even if I have no idea what happened."
Spidey sighed to himself, today was not his day, then again, when was his day ever different than this. When has his luck ever changed? He thought to himself, "Okay, not quite what I had in mind, but I can work with this. Just long enough to find the mouse King... and I never thought I'd ever use those words in my head, let along with my own mouth."
Stan walked past the three, "Hey, I see your all settled in. That's great, feel free to add whatever you like to your room to make you feel more at home. Redecorate."
Spider-Man turned to their pilot, "Thanks, Stan."
Elsa's eyes widened as she realized, "Oh, what about Jiminy? Where is he staying?"
"Don't worry," He called out from above the living rooms revealed he had a little room to himself, "I've got all to comfort I need right here." He patted his bed before asking, "Now, when you do explore the worlds, I do need someone to carry me around so I know what's happening so I can add it to the journal."
Sora smiled as he offered, "You can stay with me, Jiminy."
The cricket smiled gratefully, "Gosh! Thanks, Sora!"
Stan then realized, "Now then, weren't we missing someone." He then snapped his fingers, "Wait a minute, now I remember."
He then stepped out of the ship before giving a loud whistle, "Come on, Pluto! We're leaving!"
Just then, Pluto came in running barking the way there. Sora gasped in shock, "Hey, you're the dog that woke me up!"
Pluto bark in conformation as Stan stretched him behind the ears, "This is the King's dog. Pluto. He wanted to tag along as well. I certainly didn't want to leave him alone on Traverse Town all this time."
"Yeah," Elsa had to agree, "Wouldn't be too smart if we left without the King's best friend."
Pluto panted happily as Spider-Man asked, "Wait, does he by any chance talk too?"
"No, he's just a normal dog," Stan answered, "Why do you ask?"
Spider-Man looked to a photo of Goofy then back to the happy dog, he stated, "Let's just say, I'm processing of which animals can talk and which ones can't."
Elsa and Sora had to agree with the hero as both Stan and Jiminy laughed in amusement...
"And so with our heroes united they left the world of Traverse Town, off to the first world to find their friends or the King. And now we turn our eyes to a very... unique world." The Watcherproclaimed before turning to the said world, "Where a curious young girl named Alice, spotted nothing she had never seen before."
"She chased the rabbit in a waistcoat through a rabbit hole only to fall in after him. It was there Alice entered a world far different from the one she knew. Wonderland. She adjusted as she explored the world looking for the white rabbit."
"She would then meet one the residents of the world. The Cheshire Cat. He suggested to the young girl to speak to the Queen of Hearts and when she did... well it didn't end well."
"Jailed and ready be trailed for a crime she did not commit, the thing seemed hopeless for the twelve-year-old. That's when our heroes came to the world, little did they realize how important that girl would be."
Hours had passed since they left Traverse Town, Elsa checked out the accommodations to her new room. Going through the doors. Hoping to find some spare gloves in case something happened to the ones she wore. She opened the next door taking note of how small the clothes were. Not as small a Jiminy just small enough to fit a young child. Elsa muttered to herself, "I definitely need to find some different clothes when I get a chance."
She closed the door before going to the ones above her. While she did find gloves, they were rather funny looking compared to the ones she wore. Elsa shrugged, "Well, in case something happens, there are always these but need to find some gloves like mine later."
She closed the door as she left her room, when she entered the living quarters, she spotted Sora petting Pluto's head. Sora then noticed her, "Hey, Elsa."
"Good evening, Sora," Elsa smiled before wondering, "Or is it morning?"
Sora shrugged, "I guess it depends on what world you're one."
"True," She nodded before looking around. She then asked, "Where's Spider-Man?"
"He's in his duck... uh... bedroom," He answered feeling bad that of what the superhero had to do next, "I think he's trying to put all the duck things in the closet."
"Can't say I don't blame him," The Princess admitted as looked at the closed door before looking back at him, "So, what do you think about all of this?"
"Which part?" Sora raised an eyebrow, "Exploring other worlds or finding out that we have to save the universe from an enemy I apparently made?"
Elsa shrugged as she asked, "Both."
"Well... On the one hand, this had been my dream ever since I was little," Sora looked down with a sad smile, "To see what was beyond my islands with my closest friends. I mean even when they're not here it's still a little cool I guess. One the other hand..."
Elsa began to realize what Sora was trying to say, "You didn't think you'd have to save them either."
"Yeah," He nodded as he added, "And that's the thing... I never had an enemy in my life before. Now, one I made well... going to make goes back in time and is making things worse than it already was. What did I do to them that caused him to do this."
Elsa processed this new information before taking a deep breath and whispered to herself, "Okay, you're an adult now, he needs you to be an adult so for his and Anna's shake you need to act like one." She then turned to Sora, "Listen, I don't have all the answers. I don't why this Dr. Doom would do this to you. Or why he took my sister. But I do know this, he was always going to be a problem and you stood up to him. Heck, you must have stopped him from getting what he wants. You can do it again. I promise you, Spider-Man and I will be there for you every step of the way. We'll even help find your friends..."
"Riku," Sora finished for her, "...and Kairi."
Elsa nodded, "Riku and Kairi."
That seemed to get a smile out of Sora, "Thanks..." He then looked back to the door, "So, how do you think he's doing in there?"
Elsa had to be honest with herself, when she pictured someone out there was a little bit like her, she hoped that he or she would be able to train her to control her powers. Even more to an extent Sora who had just received powers of his own. Magic even. She had only known Spider-Man less than a day and what she thought of him... hasn't been exactly positive.
He seemed focused on saving the remaining worlds and considering what was at stake, she couldn't exactly blame him for that. However, he seemed a bit childish, never even seemed to stop talking and joking, except when he's serious. He was rude those times.
In his defense though, a lot has happened the last 24 hours. They were stripped from their dying homes, pulled away from their family and friends, and learned they only had one chance to save not just their universe but the entire multiverse. Even for an experienced hero, it would be asking too much. Yet, they had to do it and they looked upon him for training. She just hoped he could pull it off. She answered, "I'm sure, he's almost done and he'll begin our training very soon."
Meanwhile with Spidey, he crammed as much of the duck stuff as he could and stuffed it to his closet. He had to apply some spider-strength just to get it to close. With a final grunt, he finally slammed the closet door shut. He groaned as he finally removed his mask. Taking deep breaths, "Okay, that's rough 150 duck things down..." He then turned to the rest of the room, "...and a million more to go."
"Okay, whoever this Donald guy supposed to be, is clearly full of himself," Peter thought to himself, "I doubt even Tony Stark had this much things of himself in his very expensive bedroom."
He then looked down to his mask, he thought to himself, "And that's not even my biggest concern. I just wish this was all a bad dream. First, I lost my entire world with almost everyone I know on it. On top of that, MJ had found Harry and I didn't even get a chance to save either of them before getting dragged to Traverse Town. Now, the fate of the multiverse and the Watcher expects me and two rookies to save it."
He turned to the door to the rest of the ship, "I have nothing against them. Sora and Elsa seem like good people but I don't know how I'm supposed to train them to be heroes. At least with Miles his powers were very similar to mine with a few exceptions. I have no idea how to work with Elsa's ice powers or Sora's Keyblade. Speaking of which, out of all the people to choose from, the Keyblade had to pick a kid. Why not someone who's already a true hero like Captain America? Heck, even I would be a better choice than him. He's even younger than I was when I became Spider-Man. It's too much responsibility for anyone to handle. This is more of a reason I need to find the King. Maybe together we can ease them of this great responsibility and have some else more experience work with us to save everything."
Just then,he heard Stan's voice through the coms, "Hey, True Believers, we're approaching our first stop. I subject you meet with me on deck. There's somethings I should let you know before checking out this world."
With that, Spider-Man placedback on his mask, before heading to the door, "Well, until then, gotta do my best to keep everyone alive. So, no pressure."
Heopened the door, to see the Princess looking around trying to find the source of Stan's voice while Sora stood up next to Pluto. He asked, "So, you two ready on your first day of being a superhero?"
"I am!" Sora beamed happily as he raised his hand.
Elsa simply continued to look around, "Did either of you heard Stan just now?"
"Yeah," Spider-Man raised an eyebrow, "Why?"
"Where did it come from?" The Snow Queen wondered, "It was like he was here but not."
"Oh, he just spoke through the speakers," Sora smiled as Elsa turned to him, "Our principal does it all the time in school to make announcements from his office."
Elsa blinked at that, Spider-Man stated, "I'm taking a wild guess your world doesn't have that yet. What year was it on your world?"
"1843," Elsa admitted getting a nod from the two as she realized, "I suppose I wouldn't really know what school is like..."
"Oh, right," Spider-Man recalled, "You're a Princess. I guess you were home schooled then."
"Yes," She nodded, "By my own parents, so I would be ready to be Queen. Of course, none of that matters now that Arendelle's gone." After everyone winced at that thought, Elsa stated, "We should... probably see what Stan wants."
Everyone nodded as they headed to the deck we're Stan was. Their pilot got out of his seat, as Sora turned to the planet below them, "Is that..."
"You guessed it, kiddo," Stan smiled, "We're in orb over the world and the transporter is ready to send you down."
Elsa raised an eyebrow, "Transporter?"
"Can't make a proper landing without startling the locals," Stan told the three, "The transporter should get you close enough to the ground without drawing too much attention."
Spider-Man snapped his fingers in realization, "Oh, so it's like beaming down to planet like Star Trek."
"Exactly," Stan Lee nodded, "Great comparison."
Elsa leaned to him as she whispered in confusion, "Star Trek?"
"Just a old TV show," Spider-Man smiled to himself, "And a few good movies."
They followed Stan as Elsa was pondering at some of the words Spider-Man told her, "TV? Movies?"
She followed along to the transporters that reminded Spidey of the said series. Stan told them, "Just step on and I'll, as you put it, beam you down to the planet."
"How will you pick us up then?" Elsa wondered, "Do you just... um... beam us back up?"
"Yep but only in certain locations," Mr. Lee nodded as he flipped a switch as swirl of yellow energy appeared.
Sora eyes widened in recognition as he gasped quietly, "I've seen those before..."
Both adult seem to overhear the teenager but said nothing as Stan told them, "These are the areas you want to be on to get back to the ship. It's also a good place to heal up without using a potion or a cure spell. Give a howler and I'll be able to hear you from the ship."
"Understood," Elsa nodded. That would be easy to remember.
Sora gave Pluto a good pat, "See you in a bit, Pluto."
The dog licked his face getting a chuckle out of him. Just then, Jiminy ran up to them, "Wait for me, everyone."
Sora opened his hand as Jiminy hopped on before he lifted him to his shoulder. He hopped on his shoulder as the Keyblade's chosen eyes narrowed with determination, "Okay, let's go!"
Moments later, they were beamed out of the Excalibur, when the strangest thing happened. They appear way above the group causing a small panic from Elsa. Spider-Man was about to swing into save them, only to find out they were actually fine. In fact, they were slowly descending to the ground. Elsa was spooked, "I don't understand! What's happening?!"
"Perhaps the gravity of this world is different than ours," Spider-Man theorized, "If our years are different, it's probably safe to assume the gravity or other things would be as well."
"So, we should be fine once we reach the ground?" Elsa asked, "Right?"
Spidey nodded while Sora was lying on his back enjoying the ride, "You guys worry too much. Just go with it and enjoy the ride."
As they slowly reached the ground below, Spider-Man and Elsa landed on their feet. Sora fell over with a big thud, "Oof!"
The two winced as Elsa asked, "You okay?"
"I'm fine," Sora rubbed his head as he picked himself up, "I just figured would it be a softer landing."
Elsa looked around her surroundings, "So, this is another world?"
"Another chunk of Earth at least," Spidey commented, "Though I can't quite tell where or when we would be."
"Then where are we?" Elsa inquired about the weird designs of the walls. Like a desk and chair on the wall stationed like an actual dining room. And a bed and desk like a room. Other household furniture on the walls. As if gravity is backward on all ends.
"Either we've ended up in a sick fantasy of a children's book, or Doctor Strange forgot to clean up after his Mirror Dimension block party." Spider-Man quipped about how screwy everything looked.
Just then, Sora noticed something or in this case someone was on the move. His eyes widened as so far the only thing he'd seen so far closely related was Jiminy not counting the other versions of Donald and Goofy. He commented, "Uh, guys? You might want to see this."
Both adults turned to where Sora was gesturing too as their eyes widened. At this point, Spider-Man really thought he had seen it all, "Is that... It's just a rabbit in a waistcoat..."
Elsa added in shock, "With a pocket watch?!"
They all were shocked to see a white rabbit in a waistcoat carrying a large pocket watch dashed past them, "Oh, my fur and whiskers! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!"
"What could he possibly be late for?" Elsa wondered.
Sora replied with hope in his eyes, "Maybe he knows if Riku and Kairi are here!"
Sora began to chase after the White Rabbit, as the adults chased after him as they called out to him, "Sora! Wait!"
The Keyblade's Chosen called out to the rabbit, "Excuse me, Mr. Rabbit! I need to ask you something!"
The rabbit pants as he sang to the teenager explaining his situation in a hurry, "I'm late, I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!"
Spider-Man raised an eyebrow, "Again with the singing?"
"What's your problem with singing?" Elsa wondered as they continued the chase, "It's perfectly normal."
Spider-Man shook his head, "No, it's not."
Sora paid little attention to their brief argument, as he once again, "I just need a moment of your time! Please!"
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no! I'm overdue! I'm really in a stew! No time to say goodbye, hello! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" The rabbit sang in response as he vanished around the corner.
By the time Sora had reached the corner, the White Rabbit was long gone. He began looking around as the adults ran up to him. Spider-Man advised, "Kid, you can't run off like that. You'll get yourself killed if you're not too careful."
"I have to agree," Elsa nodded, "You're far too important to lose, you die, and the multiverse is doomed."
"I know but..." Sora acknowledged before stating, "I was hoping that rabbit would know something about Riku and Kairi."
The Princess of Arendelle sighed as she understood how he was feeling, "I know. I feel the same way about my own sister Anna if I didn't know for a fact that she was taken by the Masters of Evil... but we have a better chance stopping them and finding your friends and my sister if we stick together." She turned to the Wall-Crawler, "Am I right?"
Spidey nodded in agreement, "Yeah... right." He then stated, "That being the case, we should follow the rabbit anyway."
Sora turned to him in shock, "Really?"
"Yeah," Spider-Man nodded, "He's the first inhabitant we've seen on this world and he was late for something. So, that means he was heading towards..."
"Civilization," Elsa then understood, "Which means people will be there."
"We can find out who's in charge and see what they know," Spider-Man added, "Hopefully they'll be willing to help."
"Where do you think the rabbit went?" Sora asked.
"Well, he did mention 'date' while singing like he was in a late 60s musical. And I should know the heat that comes from missing a date." Spider-Man quipped about his past love life while they were walking down the tunnel where the White Rabbit ran down.
Sora turned to Elsa in confusion, who shrugged in response. Spidey mentally groaned as neither of them understood his joke. Before adding, "Or he simply went through this door."
"I think it's the door," Sora answered honestly.
Elsa nodded, "I concur. I have no idea what he was referring to with that other thing."
Spidey sighed out loud as Sora walked up to the door, "I miss New York."
"New York?" Elsa blinked, "You're from America on your world?"
"Yep," The superhero nodded, "Born and raised. Why?"
"For some reason, I find that country fascinating," Elsa admitted before asking, "Especially, your technology. Tell me, did your version of America ever make something that allows a message to be sent across your country almost immediately? What did they call it—Ah! A telegraph!" Spidey blinked for a moment before Elsa blushed in embarrassment, "I was hoping to get one for Arendelle before... you know... all of this happened."
"Well, my time in my world was in the 21st century so the telegraph has been outdated for quite some time," Spidey admitted as Sora was about to open the door, "These days we use iPhones and the internet."
Elsa had to admit about this new information, "Fascinating. And they can send messages like telegraph?"
Spidey was about to go into detail when Sora's voice, called out to them, "Um... Guys?"
They turned to see Sora, who had just opened the door, only to find another door. All three of them, blinked as Sora went to open the second door only for a third to block their path, "Huh?!"
Sora opened door after door only to get the same results as both adults were just as dumbfounded at what happened. The Snow Queen couldn't help but wonder, "Who on either would put that many doors for one location?!"
"I'm wondering how the rabbit managed to close them all?" Spider-Man commented getting an odd look from Elsa before she began to ponder the same question.
Moments later, Sora was about to open a smaller door than the others as he whispered to himself, "Please don't be another door." He turned the knob and opened the door, finally revealing the entrance making him sigh in relief, "Finally!"
The entrance seemed small than expected, in fact, it was the same size as the White Rabbit. Elsa wondered, "Okay, how are we supposed to fit through that?"
Sora smiled and he got down on all four of his limbs, "We crawl."
With that, the Keyblade's Chosen One crawled through the entrance as Elsa sighed, "Of course."
Once Sora was through, Spidey gestured, "Laddies first."
She gave him a mild glare, as she warned him, "You better not look up my dress."
Elsa went down as low as she could, and tried to squeeze through the entrance. She was able to get the upper body through the entrance before getting some difficultly getting the rest of her body through. Lucky, Sora was there as well. He offered his hands, "I'll pull you through."
The Princess of Arendelle usually avoided physical contact whenever she could. However, considering the situation, she accepted Sora's help as he pulled her the rest of the way. He even helped her up, "Thank you."
He nodded as they noticed the colorful room, they were now in. However, that didn't even phase through them as they once again saw the White Rabbit. Only he someone got even small and when through a mouse-sized whole before closing the door behind him. Sora turned to her, "You... saw that too, right?"
"Saw it," She admitted before shaking her head, "But don't believe it."
Just then, they heard Spider-Man clear his throat, he was currently in the same situation, the Princess was in moments earlier, "Little help here?"
The two knelt down as they pulled the superhero into the room with them. He quickly got on his feet as he began to stretch out, "Man, I know I've been in tight situations before but that was ridiculous!" After a few more stretches, he proceeded to ask, "So, where did our wascally wabbit run off to?"
Both gave him odd looks from that last sentience before pointing to the mouse-sized door the White Rabbit went through. Spidey stared for the door for a moment before sarcastically laughing, "Oh, ha, ha! Very funny!" His eyes narrowed under his mask, "Now, where did he really go?"
The two once again point the door much to his disbelief. His eyes slowly widened, "Wait, did he really go through that tiny little door?"
Elsa admitted, "We were as shocked as you, and even I almost didn't believe it."
"Yeah," Spidey observed the door, "There is no way we're squeezing through that. Or anyone else for that matter."
Sora knelt down to the door, "Then how did he get so small?"
"No," The doorknob looked up to the three of them, "You're simply too large!"
"Good Lord!" Spidey exclaimed, "It's alive!"
Sora's and Elsa's reactions were not that different. Talking animals were one thing but inanimate objects?! That didn't make any sense! The Doorknob yawned, "Must you be so loud. You all woke me up."
None of them were unsure how to reply to that until Elsa gave the Doorknob a small wave, "Ummm... Good morning?"
"Good night!" The doorknob told her, "I need a bit more sleep."
"Wait!" Sora stopped the Doorknob before he drifted off to sleep, "That White Rabbit! He got small to go through you, right? How do we go small?"
"Why don't you try the bottle?" He suggested before gesturing behind them the best he could, "Over there? On the table?"
The three looked behind them as Spidey said in response, "Hate to break it to you but there's no..." Right as he was about to finish his sentence, a table popped out of the floor with a bottle rested on it. He finished in disbelief, "...table... here..."
They approached the table as Elsa picked up the bottle. She took notice of the label on it which read, "Drink me." The Princess muttered, "But... what if it's poisonous?"
"I'll give the liquid a test," Spidey took the bottle from her, "Run down the ingredients through my mask."
Elsa turned to Sora as he began the analysis of the strange liquid, "Did you know he could do that?"
"Why are you asking me?" The Keyblade's Chosen pointed out, "You've known him longer than I have."
As he booted up the old system, the old Octavious Industries logo booted up. The guilt of what happened to his old mentor and friend briefly struck Peter, before shaking it off, "Okay, let's see what we got here." While doing the analysis an unknown substance was found, Spidey had to match the pattern to identify the substance, "Hmm... nothing poisonous so far... wait what's this." Thankfully, this was right up his ally as he had done this many times before back home. After completing the puzzle, the success logo appeared on his screen as it revealed the unknown substance, "Hold on, is that what I think it is?"
Elsa tilted her head, "What? What did you see?"
"There are traces of Pym Particles in this liquid," Spider-Man answered in amazement. Sora and Elsa once again turned to each other in confusion, as he explained, "Back in New York, there was a brilliant scientist called Hank Pym who discovered the particles. It could allow objects and even people to grow or shrink. He became the original Antman."
Sora snickered to himself, "He, he, he. Antman."
"Okay, so can we use it," Elsa wondered, "Is it safe to use?"
"Well, the other chemicals seem to stabilize it but without the proper technology," Spidey pointed out before hesitating, "Well, it isn't pretty. Let's just say, we would die horribly."
The Snow Queen realized as her eyes widened, "So we could still die drinking that stuff?!"
"Well, theoretically, the other stuff in her should stabilize it. Although, we wouldn't obtain the same mass that Antman and Wasp would do," Peter answered before adding, "But there is no real way of knowing without drinking it."
"I'll do it!" Sora volunteered as he raised his hand in the air.
Elsa turned to him in shock, "Did you not listen to the fact we could die horribly from drinking that stuff?"
Sora blinked before putting his hand down, "Sorry, I wasn't listening. I was still finding the whole Antman idea funny."
"Well, guess it's up to me," Peter realized as he held the bottle in his hand, "If this stuff really is dangerous, my spider-sense will tell me."
Spidey lifted up his mask to his nose as he warned the two, "In case something goes wrong, you two might want to stand back." Both magic users instantly took a few steps back as he slowly placed the bottle on his lips as he thought to himself, "Well, no reaction so far anyways."
He then took a sip of the liquid before humming to himself. Elsa looked like she was ready to cover Sora's eyes to prevent him from seeing something no one should see. She then asked, "Well, how do you feel? Like you're going to pop?"
"No, I feel fine," Spidey admitted, "It just has a strange taste to it. Like it's mixed with cherry tart." Suddenly as he continued explaining how it taste like he slowly began to shrink, "Custard? Maybe pineapple? Roast turkey?"
Sora and Elsa watched as Spidey shrunk down to the size of a mouse as he nearly dropped the bottle. Sora caught it in the nick of time as Spidey observed himself, "Hey! It worked! And I'm not a stain of the floor!"
He turned to the Princess as he smiled, "Guess it's my turn."
He took a sip of the liquid before placing it down on the table as the two began to shrink. Once the potion had taken effect, Sora observed himself, "Whoa! This is so cool!"
"It's a good thing our clothes shrunk too," Spider-Man added as he walked up to Sora, "Not quite sure how though."
Elsa picked up the bottle but before she could drink it, she noticed a slight problem, "Umm... guys. The door's asleep."
Both shrunken Guardians turned to the sleeping doorknob as they heard it snoring. Spidey walked up to it and snapped his fingers. No reaction. Spidey sighed, "Yeah, he's out."
"So, what now?" Sora wondered, "I don't think it's right to disturb him. Is there any way to continue moving forward?"
Spidey did a scan through his mask and looked through any other way through. He then found something, "There's a hole large enough to get through by the bed. Your Highness, since you're the only one of us normal-sized you need to move the bed so we can get through."
She nodded placing the bottle down and walked towards the bed. She tried pulling it to move it but it remained where it was. She grunted, "Yeah, I don't think it's going anywhere!"
"Oh, I know!" Sora lifted up his hand again, "Try pushing it!"
The two adults gave Sora a disbelief look as Elsa pointed out, "Sora... it's up against a wall. It can't any further than where it is. I'm better off pulling it."
Sora's eyes pleaded, "Just trust me, okay?"
After staring at the boy for a minute, noticing how Anna gave her similar looks when they were younger, she sighed in defeat, "Okay, okay... I try it."
Sora beamed as Spidey stared at her, "You joking, right?" As the Princess prepared to push the bed, the superhero went on, "There's no way that's going to..." Elsa gave it a shove as the bed into the wall much to their shock, "...work..."
The Snow Queen turned back to Sora, "How did you know that was going to work?"
"I guess it just made sense," Sora shrugged.
"Kid, I get the feeling nothing in this world makes sense," Spider-Man replied.
Sora snapped his fingers, "Exactly! We just saw a talking doorknob, a table and bottle appear from nowhere, and we just drank a shrinking potion. This means nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would."
Both adults blinked at Sora's logic as Elsa admitted, "I... guess that makes sense... in a bizarre sort of way."
"Just drink the potion so we can get to civilization," Spidey told her, "Maybe there's someone here that can explain things better than the kid."
Sora began to get annoyed, "Stop calling me that."
Elsa then walked up to the table as she once again picked up the bottle, she whispered to herself, "Well, no more delay. The sooner you do this, the sooner you can help Anna."
With that, she took a sip of the beverage. She then realized Spidey was right. It was an interesting taste. Like she had multiple foods at once before she too started shrinking. Acting quickly, she placed the bottle back on the table before she was in the same state as her allies. She looked around the room in shock, "Whoa!"
"I know right," Sora brighten up, "Now come on! Let's find that rabbit!"
They were surprised to find that they came out in a hedge maze that appeared to be just outside the nearby castle, which they could have sworn had been at the other end of the world judging by its position from the ship, but they put it aside for now and immediately started walking towards the castle, thinking that the White Rabbit had gone in that direction since he had mentioned being in trouble with the queen if he was late.
Their hunch was spot on, seeing as they arrived in an open courtyard, which seemed to be rearranged to look similar to a court of justice, and they immediately spotted the White Rabbit running up a nearby podium with a horn in his hand. In addition to this, they also saw a blonde girl in a blue dress and a white apron standing at the witness stand, while a large woman in a crown and a red and black dress sat in the judge's seat with a scowl on her face while a number of guards, who all looked like playing cards with arms, legs, and heads stood around the perimeter. Seeing all this quickly gave them all a very bad feeling about what was going on here, and that feeling only grew stronger when they heard the rabbit speak again after blowing the horn in his hand.
"Court is now in session," The White Rabbit declared.
The girl blinked in shock, "I'm on trial?! But why?!"
The rabbit then pulled out a scroll as he began listing off the said charges, "The prisoner at the bar is charged with enticing her majesty, the Queen of Hearts, into a game of croquet, and thereby willfully…"
The accused looked completely dumbfounded, "But..."
The rabbit went on reading the charges, "And with malice aforethought, teasing, tormenting, and otherwise annoying our beloved…"
Said Queen was starting to lose patience as she glared at him, "Don't mind all that! Get to the part where I lose my temper!"
The White Rabbit sighed before skipping to the end, "...thereby causing the queen to lose her temper."
The Queen of Hearts smiled wickedly from the judge's seat, before turning to Alice, "Now then, this girl is the culprit. There's no doubt about it. And the reason is..." She then slammed her fist on her stand, "BECAUSE I SAY SO, THAT WHY!"
Sora, Elsa, Spider-Man, and the girl stared in disbelief. The only one of them that was an expert on politics, "What the heck is this supposed to be?!"
"I..." Sora spoke up as he leaned, "I think this is supposed to be some sort of trial."
"Yeah, I understand that," Elsa sighed before stating, "What I don't understand is how this trial happened in the first place! The charges are absolutely ridiculous! That girl has no lawyer! And their Queen is very clearly biased!"
The girl on trial didn't overhear them, but if she did, she clearly agreed, "That is so unfair!"
"Well..." The Queen of Hearts raised an eyebrow, "Have you anything to say in your defense?"
"Of course! I've done absolutely nothing wrong," the girl nodded in full conviction. "You may be queen, but I'm afraid that doesn't give you the right to be so…so mean!"
The White Rabbit saw the Queen's blood was boiling as he muttered to himself, "Oh, this isn't going to end well."
"Silence! You dare defy me," the Queen of Hearts shouted, completely red in the face.
Elsa glared at the Queen as she muttered to herself, "Well, you're not giving her much choice..."
"Yeah," Spider-Man nodded in agreement, "J Jonah Jameson has more patience than her and that's saying something."
Elsa turned to him in confusion, "Who?"
"Guys," Sora turned to them, "If we think this is an unfair trial, should we do something about it."
"Fair enough," Spider-Man nodded taking charge, "You two get back, I jump in, grab the girl, and get her to safety."
Before he could jump in, Elsa actually stopped him, "Wait, do that and you might things worse for the girl!"
"I don't what's wrong with beating up the guards and rescuing an innocent girl from this madness," Spidey turned to her in confusion.
She sighed before replying, "It's a good plan B, but let's figure out a plan A." She told the hero, "Look, this is right up my alley, we just point out the flaws in the court, learn the actual charges of this court if there is any, and get her out without causing any conflict with this kingdom."
Spidey sighed under his mask, "Fine. I suppose we're not supposed to meddle with affairs in other worlds anyways."
Everyone turned back to the court, as the Queen turned to the White Rabbit, "Now, for the verdict. Would the jury like a moment?"
Things are silent for a moment as the Rabbit as sweat drew down his face as he cleared his throat, "No, ma'am, I think we've heard quite enough. In the case of, er, Little Blonde-Haired Girl v. The State of Wonderland as governed by her majesty the Queen of Hearts, we declare the defendant to be… Well, whatever the queen says!"
"Well, in that case," The girl looked in horror as the Queen of Hearts grin grew cruelly as she declared, "I declare, in all my wisdom and sense of fair play, that this unfortunate little girl IS GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES!"
Elsa huffed as she never thought, she would ever have to do this outside of Arendelle, but she would do it for that girl's sake as the Queen went on, "For the crimes mentioned as well as the assault and attempted theft of my heart." All three eyes widened at that, the only actual thing that was okay to have a trial for was being aimed at an innocent girl instead of the Heartless. The Queen of Hearts declared, "OFF WITH HER HEAD!"
The card guards were about the carry out the sentence, when Sora called out to them, "Hold it right there!"
Everyone's attention turned to Sora, Spidey, and Elsa, the Queen of Hearts raised an eyebrow, "Who are you?! HOW DARE YOU INTERFERE WITH MY COURT!"
"What my young friend is trying to say is..." Elsa spoke up placing a hand on Sora making him back up, "...is what court?!"
Everyone turned to her in shock as Elsa gestured to the girl, "The accused hasn't even given a lawyer for Pete's sake! How can you even call this a court?!"
"That's what I've been wondering," The twelve-year-old declared, "I might not know much about these things but even I know there's more to a court than what I've gotten."
"Not to mention the witnesses," Spidey pointed out, "Where are the witnesses?!"
Elsa nodded in agreement as she gestured to her teammate. The Queen of Hearts answered with her arms crossed, "Oh, we have plenty of witnesses." She turned to the White Rabbit, "Bring out my witnesses!"
The White Rabbit sighed but nodded, "Bring in the March Hare!"
Everyone turned to the first witness as the cards brought in the March Hare. Once, in the witness seat, the White Rabbit asked, "Now, do you know about this uh… unfortunate affair?"
The March Hare shook his head, "Nothing."
The Guardians of Light blinked in confusion, as Spidey asked, "Nothing whatever?"
The hare nodded, "Nothing whatever!"
Elsa turned to the Queen of Hearts with a glare, "You call him a witness? He wasn't even at the scene of the crime!"
"Ah, but wait until you hear my second witness," The woman gave the rabbit a nod as the March Hare left the witness seat.
The White Rabbit declared, "Bring in the Door mouse!"
With that, the guards brought in a small teapot much to the three's confusion. She then raised her voice, "WELL..." Both the guards, hare, and rabbit all shushed her before she whispered quietly to the teapot, "What have you to say about this?"
A small door mouse peeked out of the teapot before muttered, "Twinkle, twinkle, little bat. How I wonder what you're at."
With that, the dormouse returned to its pot, as the Guardians of Light plus the little girl gave her an 'are you serious?' look. In response, she told them, "What? It's the most important piece of evidence yet."
"Cute," Elsa stated as her look remained, "But that doesn't point the accuse being guilty or innocent of the crimes dealt against her."
"Fine, but wait until you hear what the third witness had to say," She rolled her eyes before turning to the White Rabbit, "Bring him in!"
The White Rabbit exclaimed, "Bring in the Mad Hatter!"
The guards then brought forth a small man enjoying a cup of tea to the witness seat as the White Rabbit asked him, "I was home, drinking tea. Today you know is my unbirthday."
Before anyone else could make a comment, Spider-Man raised his voice, "Whoa! Whoa! Wait! Hold on! Look, as interesting as this has been, raise your hand if you have been called in as a witness." Many hands went up, as Spidey continued, "Raise your head if you actually know anything remotely related to the crime which the defendant has been accused of!"
All the hands of the witnesses lowed. Spidey whispered to himself, "Of course." He then turned to his allies and the Queen of Hearts, "There! I saved as all some time!"
"So, let me get this straight," Elsa turned to the Queen, "You don't actually have any witnesses. You just called up a bunch of people and called them witnesses. So, they know nothing of the crimes you accuse the girl of doing. Making this a complete waste of time and resources!"
"This is probably how Oscorp used to give their interns the axe," Spider-Man muttered seeing the injustice of the court.
"But I know it was her!" The Queen of Hearts glared at Alice, "She's the one who assaulted me and tried to steal my heart!"
"Did you?" Elsa raised an eyebrow, "Did you see her try to do so? Or are you just saying she did because she upset you?"
She grinned, "Because she upset me."
Elsa glared making her flinch, "So, you don't actually know that she did it!"
"WELL..." She was about to argue but eventually admitted, "No."
"Lucky for you," Spidey stated, "We know who really attacked you."
Sora nodded, "Yeah, it was the Heart..."
However, Spidey stopped him and shook his head, "Not yet."
Sora gave him an odd look before gesturing to the girl, "Anyway, she's not the one you're after."
"That's nonsense," The Queen of Hearts scoffed the idea determined to prove it was the girl, "Have you any proof?"
Sora hesitated as at the moment, they had no evidence to prove that the Heartless was responsible. Elsa, however, remained unfazed before asking her, "Do you?" The Queen opened her mouth before closing it as Elsa told her, "If it pleases the court, give us some time, and if we give you evidence that the accused is innocent will you let her go?"
The Queen of Hearts thought about it for a moment, rubbing her chin. Then she gestured to her guards as they moved the little girl into a cage, locking her inside so she wouldn't escape. The Queen then turned to the Guardians of Light, "Very well then, the court will have a short recess to gather evidence of the true culprit. Bring me evidence of Alice's innocence! Fail, and it's off with all of your heads! Gather as much or little evidence as you please. Report back here once you're ready."
Elsa nodded, "Fine. We'll get you your evidence. We'll speak to the accused and we'll be on our way."
"I'll allow it," She nodded before ordering, "Now get going!"
With that, they head over to the girl's cage as Spidey leaned towards her, "Nice work back there."
"Thanks," Elsa nodded as her attention was solely on the girl, "Could use some help gathering this evidence. I take it that's your department."
"Yeah, but the whole lawyer thing had always been Daredevil's thing," Spidey nodded, "And he didn't make it unlike me. So, afterward, it's all on you."
She nodded as Sora ran up to the accused cage. The girl tilted her head, "Who- who are you?"
"I'm Sora," The Keyblade's chosen introduced himself before gesturing to his teammates, "And this is Elsa and Spidey."
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Alice," The girl introduced herself before frowning, "I do wish it were under better circumstances. I'm sorry you got mixed up in this nonsense."
"How'd you end here of all places," Sora wondered.
Elsa nodded, "I can imagine you're parents must be very worried about you."
"Hmm..." Alice thought aloud before answering, "Curious. I can't quite remember. You see, I found this mysterious rabbit hole. When I tried to peek inside, I tumbled in head over heels... And I found myself here."
Sora's eyes widened, "So, you're from another world!"
"Interesting," Elsa thought to herself, "So, there are other ways to travel from world to world."
Alice tilted her head, "What do you mean 'another world?'"
"Long story," Spidey answered on Sora's behalf before asking, "Why did you come to the Queen in the first place? And what exactly did you do to upset her enough to do all of this?"
"Well, I wanted to go home," Alice frowned, "Then I met a mysterious cat who thought I could ask the Queen for help... then one thing lead to another, I really didn't mean to upset her... and now, you've seen what happened."
This didn't sit well for the others, all this girl wanted to do was go home. Instead of helping her though, the Queen of Hearts put her on trial for not only overreacting to an accident but for a crime she didn't commit. Sora promised, "We'll get you out of this. Then we'll do our best to find your way home."
"Or... get you to a place that's a whole lot safer than this place," Spidey offered, "We have friends who can help you."
"Thank you," Alice nodded, "Good luck."
With that, they headed off to find evidence to prove Alice's innocence. Sora turned to the adults, "So, where should we start?"
"Best chance," Spider-Man suggested, "Figuring out where the attack took place. If we can find out where it happened, we'll find our evidence there."
Just then, they heard some whispered, "Psst!" Everyone turned to the source of the whisper to find the White Rabbit, "Over here. Quickly." The Guardians turned to each other before walking up to the White Rabbit, "Listen, I wish to help you."
"You do!" Sora gasped before the rabbit shushed him before checking out the Queen. She didn't seem to notice as he placed a finger on his lip. Sora nodded in understanding, "Sorry, but why didn't you speak up sooner?"
"I couldn't." The White Rabbit shook his head before gesturing, "Not with her watching."
Elsa wondered, "How often has your Queen executed someone she didn't like solely for the reason they upset her?"
"You won't like the answer to that question," The rabbit admitted as the Guardians immediately understood as he went on, "To be quite honest, your best chance is to grab the girl and get her as far away from Wonderland as possible because since you defined her from immediate execution for the girl, she'll probably try to find evidence that you're the culprits instead and you'll all lose your heads."
"We're... saving that for Plan B," Elsa admitted ignoring the looks from Spider-Man, "But this is something we have to do."
"Now, if you can help us," Sora spoke up for the Princess, "One friend to another, we'd be eternally grateful."
"Friend?" The Rabbit's eyes widened before smiling sadly, "I haven't had anyone call me that for ages." He nodded to Sora, "Very well, I suggest you look in the Lotus Forest. That's where the assault happened. You'll also need to find someone called the Chesire Cat, he knows the in or outs of Wonderland better than anyone."
"Hold on," Spidey recalled the conversation they just had with Alice, "A cat told her to go to the Queen in the first place. For all we know, he could be responsible for her being on trial in the first place."
"And now," The White Rabbit told the group, "He may be your only hope in finding the evidence to prove her innocence."
"We'll take it," Elsa nodded in gratitude, "Thank you."
The rabbit nodded as they headed over to the Lotus Forest hoping to find proof of Alice's innocence. The three Guardians looked around the forest as Elsa stated, "So, this must be the place."
"So where do we start?" Sora wondered as he admitted, "I've never done anything like this before."
"Yes," Elsa nodded as she turned to the Wall-Crawler, "Not to mention, you said you'd train us to help us control our powers. When do we start with that."
"Okay, okay..." Spidey raised his hands in defeat, "Just let me think, okay?" He continued, "Right now, we should find the Cheshire Cat both Alice and the White Rabbit talked about."
Sora then proceeded to ask, "So, where do we start looking for him."
Just then, they heard a chuckling echo, putting all three of them on alert, Spidey stated, "I think he found us."
"'Twas Brillig~ And the slithy toves~" The voice sang all around them until the head of a cat appeared before them much to their shock, "Did gyre and gimble in the wabe~"
"All mimsy were the borogoves~" The rest of the cat's body appeared standing on his own head before he hopped off it and placed his head back on his body, "And the mome raths outgrabe~"
"What was he just singing?" Sora looked confused by the song they had just heard.
"I don't know," Spider-Man shrugged as he wasn't sure, "A lost Dr. Seuss book found in a dead sea scroll?"
"You... you're the one that brought Alice to the Queen of this Kingdom," Elsa realized, "You're the Cheshire Cat?"
"Indeed," The cat smirked, "And poor Alice is about to lose her, and she's not guilty of a thing."
"Then why not tell the Queen," Spider-Man asked the purple fur cat, "Tell her who the true culprit is."
"The Cheshire Cat has all the answers... but doesn't always tell," The cat appeared next to Spidey much to his shock, "As much as I love to make her mad by telling her she's wrong, I won't."
"Great," Spidey groaned, "You one of those people that like to refer themselves in the third person."
"Please," Elsa asked the cat, "She'll die without your help."
"Then break her out," The Cheshire Cat appeared next to the Princess making her finish in shock, "Even if I did help, the Queen will have Alice's head removed anyways."
Spidey lifted a finger to speak which Elsa lifted a finger, "Don't start! Not one word out of you!" She then turned back to the cat, "And she can't! Not if we prove she's innocent."
"And they call me mad," The Cheshire Cat chuckled to himself, "You're only fooling yourself if you think the Queen will be swayed."
Sora's eyes widened as an idea appeared in his head, "But what of the people?"
That got the cat's attention, "Ah, so the Keyblade's Chosen One finally speaks."
"You know about the Keyblade?" Sora gasped in shock.
The cat shrugged playing dumb, "What Keyblade?"
"My Keyblade," Sora clarified, "You just called me the Chosen One!"
The Cheshire Cat continued to play dumb, "Chosen for what?"
Sora opened his mouth to speak before shaking his head, "Nevermind! Look you like making the Queen angry, don't you?"
The cat hummed as he crossed his arms with great interest, "Go on."
"Well, if we can prove Alice is innocent and... and..." The boy went on as Spidey and Elsa turned to him in shock, "If she tries to execute her all the same, I bet a lot of people won't like that. Especially of how many others the Queen had executed just for making her angry justified or not."
Finally catching on to what Sora was doing, Spidey spoke up, "And I bet she won't be happy if people stop listening to her."
"Now that I can get behind," The Cat smirked, "Very well, the evidence of the true culprit all lie in darkness. They've already left the forest. I won't tell which exit. There are four pieces of evidence in all. Three are a cinch to find. The fourth is tricky. Big reward if you find them all."
With that the cat vanished, Spidey frowned under his mask, "Why do all cats in the universe have a thing against me?"
"So," Sora turned to him, "Do we trust him?"
The Chesire Cat briefly reappeared next to Sora, "To trust, or not to trust? I trust you'll decide!" Sora's eyes widened in shock as the cat chuckled, "And the mome raths outgrabe~"
"Okay, not quite what I was hoping for," Elsa admitted, "But now we know they're four pieces of evidence. We should try to find them all if we can."
"Or just grab Alice and get out of here," Spidey suggested, "Like both, the rabbit and cat told us to do."
"No, that will only even convince her more that Alice is guilty," Elsa shook her head, "She must follow some sort of system in the law. Otherwise, why would anyone follow a Queen who ignores the facts, just because she thinks everything is about her."
"In case you didn't notice," Spidey pointed out, "Besides Alice, and maybe the rabbit, everyone here seems to be mad. Maybe not as crazy as Deadpool but still..."
"Look, I already told you were saving that idea for plan B," Elsa told him, "I'm certain not everyone is that crazy."
Sora tilted his head, "Who's Deadpool?"
Spidey turned to the kid, "Pray you never have to find out." He then turned the Princess, "Alright, now then your highness, since your so determined to do this, you might want to follow my advice on this situation."
Knowing what he was referring to, she nodded, "Fine, start training us."
Sora pumped a fist, "Yes! We're ready!"
"Okay, second tip," The superhero walked over to Elsa as he grabbed her purple cape, "We're getting rid of this!"
Elsa instantly complained, "Hey!"
"It's a miracle it hasn't caught on anything yet!" Spider-Man stated as he tossed the cape aside, "Trust me, superheroes don't wear capes." Before mentally adding, "Well, most superheroes."
He thought of Thor and Dr. Strange when thinking that. He then added, "Now we go to the third tip, which is since you really believe in this world's system, assuming it works like our own when we have every reason to believe it's not," Elsa crossed his arms as she glared at him as he continued, "We need to find as much evidence against the real culprit. Now, we know that our four pieces of evidence, find them and I'll take it from there."
"Only four," Sora smirked, "No problem."
Just then, Heartless appeared in front of them, much to their shock, Spidey glared through his mask, "Number 4: Never assume that they'll be unguarded. Now, you should probably take care of them."
Sora summoned his Keyblade and went into his battle stance as Elsa removed her gloves. She turned to him, "Wait, you not seriously going to jump in like this without giving us more time to prepare."
"I believe the best learning," Spidey quipped, "Is learning on the job."
Sora smirked as he twirled his weapon, "We can take them! I'm going to try some magic on them." Elsa turned to him with concern before he swung his Keyblade, "Go fire!"
Nothing came out of the Keyblade much to their shock, Sora tried again as he swung his Keyblade from a different angle, "Fly!"
He still got nothing as he attempted an up slash, "Up up and away, fire!" No result as we weakly down slashed hoping to summon fire, "Shazam?"
Elsa turned to Spidey as she gestured to him to help the boy as he swung in every which way, "Go! Go! Go, fire, go!"
Spidey shrugged to Elsa, "Don't look at me, I don't know how his powers work!"
With that, the Princess face palmed herself, "We're doomed."
Just then, Sora received flashes going through his head, as he once again saw the boy from his visions using his Keyblade to use fire magic. He mentally, wondered, "Again, first at the islands, now here? Who is that guy?"
Deciding to follow the visions of the Keyblade Wielder, Sora aimed his Keyblade at a charging Heartless as he exclaimed, "FIRE!"
Finally, fire magic launch from his Keyblade and stuck the Heartless, destroying it. Sora pumped a fist as Spidey and Elsa stared in shock, "YES!"
"Ummm..." Spidey decided to work with it, "Nice work, kid. Don't stop now! There's more Heartless here!"
Sora charged in as he used his Keyblade to make quick work with the Heartless. The Princess of Arendelle decided to give Sora a hand as she removed her gloves and ran in blasting Heartless with her ice magic. Spider-Man watched the two of them work as he occasionally dodged and punched a Heartless. Eventually, the rest of the Heartless were destroyed as Sora put away his Keyblade as Elsa placed on her gloves. He turned to her, "How'd I do?"
Elsa blinked as she asked, "You're asking me?"
"Yeah," He nodded, "It's my first time using magic so how'd I do?"
"Oh!" The Snow Queen was shocked but quickly understood why he asked her and not Spider-Man. She was the only one in their group who could use magic other than him. Fire and ice were polar opposites but they were magic all the same. She answered, "Well... I thought you did alright." She then turned to the hero, "What did you think?"
Uh… yeah, despite your rocky start," Spider-Man answered after a moment of hesitation, "You did okay."
"It would have been nice," Elsa crossed her arms, "If you gave us legitimate advice."
Sora tilted his head before looking around, "Hey, what's that?"
Both adults turned to see what Sora was pointing at and spotted footprints, neither animal nor human, in the mud. Elsa's eyes widened, "Are these… Heartless footprints?"
Sora beamed, "A clue!"
"Well, it would be if we didn't already know who attacked the Queen," Spidey stated, "But I'd say, that's one of our pieces of evidence that the Heartless tried to steal her heart and not Alice."
The hero then pulled out a camera much to Elsa's shock, "What's that?"
"This, your highness, is a camera," Spidey answered, "It takes pictures. I figure it's the best way to collect our evidence."
He then proceeded to take the photo. When he did, something unexpected happened. A box appeared out of absolutely nowhere. Sora turned to Spidey in shock, "Uh... Can your camera also make boxes appear out of nowhere?"
"No," He admitted equally shocked, "This would be a first."
Sora picked up the box and took a peek inside. Elsa wondered, "What is it?"
"The footprints," Sora answered, "This is our evidence."
"Huh?" Spider-Man rubbed the back of his head, "That's... convenient."
"So, whenever you take a photograph of a piece of evidence," Elsa began to understand what happened, "This world or that cat will box it up for us as well?"
Spidey turned to her in shock, as she admitted, "I know what a camera is, I've just never seen that model before."
"Right," He nodded, "In any case, there's only three more to find. Since you two are still new at this. We should probably stick together finding the rest of the evidence. Not to mention this place is so backwards, it's very easy to get lost."
The two magic users nodded in agreement as they explored the strange world known as Wonderland...
As they explored the area, the three found more evidence of Alice's innocence. Sora handed Spidey the boxes of evidence. He only handed them back if they found more evidence so he could take a photo of said evidence. That Chesire Cat wasn't lying though on that fourth piece of evidence. It was very difficult to find unlike the other three. Funny enough, some of the paths of the forest lead them back to areas of the room with the talking door.
Sora and Elsa waited patiently as Spidey checked out a path difficult to get to see if he could find anything. Elsa notice the Keyblade's chosen was having some difficulty carrying the three boxes of evidence. She asked, "Do you need some help there?"
"Oh no," Sora smiled as he did his best to keep the balance of the three boxes, "I've got them."
She sighed before walking over, "Here. Let me take one."
With that, she took of the boxes from Sora, lightening his load. Sora nodded in apperception before turning to her gloves, "Hey, Elsa? Why do you wear those gloves?"
Elsa turned to her own gloves and stared at them for a moment. In response, she simply told him, "It's complicated."
Sora raised an eyebrow before they heard ruffling in the trees. They looked up in case it was Heartless, but it was just Spider-Man with the last box, "Found the last piece of evidence."
Elsa sighed in relief as Spidey leaped down to them, "And that's the last one."
Well, look what you've found. Nice going," the Cheshire Cat's voice called out, drawing everyone's attention to the tree branch that was sitting just above where Sora, Elsa, and Spidey were standing to see that he had appeared right on top of the said tree branch.
Sora beamed, "So, now we can save Alice!"
"That's all the evidence there is for you to find, but don't be so sure it'll be of that much help. Alice may be innocent, but what about you," the cat asked in a clear riddle.
"What do you mean," Sora asked, clearly not getting it any more than Spidey was, beyond the uneasy feeling the superhero had gained after hearing said question.
"I won't tell, but I'll give you something, little boy," the cat replied, and he then sent a small orb over to where Sora was standing with a wave of his hand. The orb in question had the image of a snowflake inside of it, and it easily went into Sora's chest, but since he was not expecting such a sudden thing to occur, Sora had jumped back a little in surprise and ended up losing his balance as a result.
"Whoa!" Spidey set down his box to catch Sora's, "Easy there."
Elsa turned to him with concern, "Are you alright?"
He nodded, "Yeah, it's just like when I learn fire magic from Stan."
"And now you can do ice magic," The cat smirked as he gestured to the Snow Queen, "Much like you."
Elsa blinked in shock, "W-What?!"
The cat chuckled before vanishing, "Good luck."
"Boy, Felicia never gave me the creeps," Spidey muttered to himself before telling the others, "Come on, let's can the crazy event this Queen of this world calls a 'fair' trail."
Elsa turned to him, "You think she'll try something?"
"From what I've heard about her," Spidey handed the boxes back to Sora as he picked up his own, "Yes, I think she'll try something to make us look like the guilty one's which is why I think..."
"We're doing it the right way," Elsa said with determination, "I don't know how things work on your world but in my world breaking someone out makes them even more guilty."
"Despite my world's problems," Spidey pointed out, "At least they have fairer trails by comparison. I don't trust the Queen."
"Maybe your right," She admitted, "But we're going to prove that Alice is innocent and if she does try something... well..."
Spidey smirked under his mask, "Plan B?"
The Snow Queen sighed as they headed back to the court as she nodded, "Plan B."
Moments later, the three Guardians returned to the court, awaited by an impatient Queen, a curious young girl, and the hopeful White Rabbit. The rabbit ran up to them and whispered, "I hope you gathered as much evidence as possible because, well, you didn't hear from me, but the Queen has been gathering false evidence against you."
Elsa quietly gasped in shock as Spider-Man reassured him, "For better or worse, we're ready."
The White Rabbit nodded before turning to the Queen, "They've brought the evidence as you ordered, my Queen."
"Well, it's about time," She snarled before ordering, "Now, show me what you have found."
Three placed down the four boxes of evidence in front of the Queen. Much to everyone's amazement.
"Well, that's certainly a lot of evidence, but I'm still not impressed," the Queen of Hearts remarked when she saw the four boxes of evidence that the two had presented. "Cards, bring forth my evidence!"
This order immediately drew a subtle, suspicious glare from Spidey as two cards brought in a fifth box of "evidence" as the queen called it, as he was sure that this box was one that contained a piece of evidence that would allow her to rule in a way that she preferred instead of how they wanted it to go.
Elsa, however, was smiling as she whispered to the two, "We clearly have more evidence than she does. We've got this."
Sora gave out a light chuckle, however, Spider-Man remained suspicious, "Wait for it..."
All of a sudden, the cards then shuffled the five boxes in a way that made it hard for them to really keep track of which box was one of theirs and which was the queen's, and once they had finished the queen declared, "All right, then. Choose the one you wish to present. I'll decide who's guilty based on that evidence."
"You want to decide something like that based on one piece of evidence?" Spidey glared under his mask, "That doesn't really seem like something one would expect in a fair trial, your highness."
"Well, your the one who wanted to rush the witnesses, calling them a complete waste of time," The Queen pointed out, "So, checking all 5 would be a waste of time as well."
Elsa just stared in shock. They called the witnesses a complete waste of time because it was a complete waste of time as they weren't even there when the crime happened. Now, that four pieces of actual evidence and a false piece and was going base it off of only one because she thought it was a waste of time checking all five?! Sora was the most vocal of the situation.
"What?! After all the trouble we went through of collecting it, you're just going to decide based on what's in one box," Sora moaned.
"You dare object? Then you will lose your head," the queen practically hollered.
"No! No, we do not object," Elsa immediately insisted.
"Then choose one box, and one box only," the queen ordered.
Spidey then walked ahead of them, before Sora asked him, "What are you doing?"
"Picking a box," Peter answered as he turned to the would have been Queen of Arendelle, "Since we wanted to do this the right way."
"I know the odds are in our favor," Elsa nodded before asking, "But how will you know you picked correctly?"
Spidey smirked under his mask, "With my Spider-Sense, I've got an ace up my sleeve."
Elsa raised an eyebrow as the Wall-Crawler approached the boxes. He whispered to himself as he reach out to one of them, "Okay, Spidey. Here we go..." Just as he was about to pick it up, his Spider-Sense went off, yanking his hand back, "Okay, not that one!"
Then he realized, "So if that one's planted against us, then that means..." He then pointed to the middle of the boxes, "We'll present that box as the evidence."
"Are you certain? No second chances," the queen reminded the two.
"Yeah, we're sure," Spider-Man nodded confidently.
"Very well then. Now we shall see who the real culprit is," the queen announced.
Both the White Rabbit and Alice started to sweat from worry. Sora seemed to trust his new mentor but Elsa didn't share the same amount of enthusiasm. The Queen smirked thinking she would have their heads.
They watched as one of the cards presented the box to the queen, opened it for her, and then revealed the contents of the box had formed into a temporary illusion of a Soldier Heartless, much to the queen's shock, and the card guards' greater surprise, as they had not expected such a creature to suddenly appear, even as an illusion.
The Queen of Hearts demanded, "What in the world was that?!"
"Your culprit," Elsa smiled as she spoke up, "That's the creature that tried to steal your heart. Alice is innocent of the crime dealt against her. Do what you want with the monster, just Alice go free so she can go home."
Alice cheered as Sora followed suit. Even the White Rabbit seemed to be silently cheering for them as well. Until he heard the Queen growl in anger. She slammed her fist on the stand as she exclaimed, "Silence! I'm the law here! Article 29: Anyone who defies the queen is guilty!"
"Are you insane?!" Elsa glared, "You're clearly abusing your power! Killing anyone who speaks against you! I bet that wasn't even a law until you said it was!"
"Seize them at once!" The Queen ordered as the stands and court all melted away in a puff of smoke, soon to be replaced by a single tower in the center with a number of cranks on the side that the cards used to raise Alice's cage into the air, while the judge's stand that the queen was sitting upon was lowered a little to the ground before gesturing to the three, "Off with their heads!"
The cards went into their battle stances, as Elsa removed her gloves, "I thought we could end this peacefully. One Queen to another." Everyone blinked in shock, that girl was a Queen too?! As she finished, "I guess I was wrong."
She turned to Spider-Man, "You know what to do."
"Yeah," Spidey smirked under his mask as Sora summoned his Keyblade, "Plan B!"
"Cards!" The Queen glared at her guards, "If they touch the tower, you lose your heads!"
"Thanks for the tip," Spidey quipped, "Your royal fatness." He then turned to Sora, "Destroy the tower! We'll deal with the guards."
Sora nodded as he ran off to do so. Elsa turned to Spidey, "Go easy on them. They're only doing their jobs."
"Yeah," Spidey nodded as he dodged a heart spear, "I know."
He then proceeded to punch out the guard that attacked him. Elsa created an ice wall to block the cards' attacks. Their weapons got stuck in the ice as they struggled to get their weapons-free. One of the cards asked, "Where did this ice come from?"
Spider-Man then kicked them away while they were distracted. He then proceeded to web them down so they wouldn't get back up. Spider-Man saw the more guards were coming as he quipped, "When I said I wanted to play a game of cards, this really wasn't what I had in mind."
Elsa then used an ice wall to push some of the cards back as she turned to him, "Seriously?! A girl's life is at stake and you're still making jokes?!"
"Relax," Spidey smirked as leaped over the deck of cards and landed from behind them, "This is all part of the plan!"
Spidey proceeded to shoot a web line at one of their weapons before yanking it out of the card's arms. He caught the spear before breaking it in half. The cards seemed to hesitate at this. During their years of service, they never fought people the likes of these before. Even if it was Wonderland. The Queen didn't seem to care, "Get them, you fools!"
"Seriously? Get them? This that the best you got," Spider-Man quipped as the cards resumed their assault, "I go out of the way to make you a famous Spider-Foe, so the least you can do is make things interesting."
He step side a card as he tripped him before kicking another in the air. He then shot a web-line at the card mid-air before throwing him at his fellow guards knocking them all down as the Queen seemed very angry at Spidey's quips, "You dare mock me?!"
"Oh, I haven't even begun," Spidey stated before adding, "In fact, there have been some things I wanted to get off my chest ever since we met you. A lot of which are really important, and are things that someone should've said to you a long time ago. In fact, the stuff I have to say to you is so important, that I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget."
Elsa thought he was joking again before a saw him reach into his belt and pull out several note cards.
As she held back the deck of guards with her ice powers, Elsa asked in disbelief, "Wait, you're serious?! You actually wrote down what you were going to say to her! We've been looking for evidence of Alice's innocence and fighting Heartless all this time! Where and when did you have the time to write those?! "
"I've gotten very good at multitasking over the years," Spider-Man replied, and he left it at that before turning back to the Queen of Hearts. "Now, I want you to pay close attention, because this is all really important, and you, ma'am, really need to hear this. Okay... here it goes." He then cleared his throat, glanced around to make sure that everyone was paying attention, and read what he had written down on the card in a clear voice just so everyone could understand him. "You are so fat that when you cut yourself shaving marshmallow fluff comes out. "
Elsa's and the cards' jaws dropped. Meanwhile, The Queen of Hearts was now looking at Spider-Man in mild surprise, hardly believing that the web-head had actually just insulted her. What no one had expected was that Spider-Man was not quite done yet.
"No? Okay, how about this one," Spider-Man remarked as he tossed the first card aside. "You are so fat that your belly button makes an echo."
Many of the disbelieving looks remained, although some snickers could be heard by some of the cards while the Queen's eyes narrowed slightly in slowly building anger. "Sheesh. Tough room," Spidey commented, moving on to another card. "How about this… You're so fat when you get on a scale it says: Whoa! One at a time!"
With each passing joke, it became harder and harder for everyone to not laugh, even the Queen's subjects, who knew if they laughed it would mean losing their heads. By the time Spidey got to that last one, most if not all of the cards had now burst out laughing, some of the cards and the White Rabbit were rolling around on the floor as the Mad Hatter and March Hare were laughing so hard they were starting to have trouble standing upright. The Queen of Hearts finally had it, she had never been this insulted in her life, not without losing their heads afterward but even worse her own subjects were laughing. She roared in a rage of anger, "ENOUGH! I WANT YOUR HEAD FOR WHAT YOU SAID!"
Spidey simply stepped side her as everyone continued laughing, "What's the matter?" She picked up a heart dagger swung it at him before knocking her on the head, "Your head's not good enough?" She swung the dagger again but Spidey knocked it out of her hand. He then grabbed her face as he mocked, "You very manly looking woman, aren't you?"
She growled before trying to hit him before he kicked her away. While this was going on, Sora had made it past the few guards to get to the tower. He had already defeated most of them before Spidey started telling his jokes. He used his Keyblade to destroy the tower bit by bit before it finally became rubble. The cage the held Alice came down to ground level much to the Queen's shock. The Keyblade's Chosen One went to check up by her as the curtain was removed. His eyes widened in shock before turning to his teammates, "She's gone?!"
"Hold up?" Spidey turned to him, "What do you mean she's gone?"
"I mean, she's not in the cage." Sora answered before gesturing to the empty cage, "Someone must have taken Alice while we were fighting."
The Queen stood back on her feet and ordered the cards, "Cards! Stop laughing!" However, they couldn't stop as the Queen went on, "Bring me, Alice or your heads will r-"
However, before she could finish giving the order, something hit her in the back of the head with a crash. The Queen of Hearts fell unconscious as Elsa stood behind her with a broken sheet of ice. She gave her a glare, "You are no doubt the worse ruler of any Kingdom I have come to know."
The cards finally pulled themselves together, as one of them said, "The Queen has been hurt we must aid for at once and seize the defy-"
"WAIT!" The White Rabbit's voice spoke up getting everyone's attention, he then proceeded to ask, "Why are we doing this?!"
One of the cards answered, "The Queen has ordered that the one, known as Alice and her accomplices, must lose their heads."
"No, why are we even listening to her?!" The White Rabbit pointed out, "We just saw these three proof Alice's innocent and they just want to bring her home. How many other innocent people lost their heads just because they upset her... how many friends, family, loved ones have we lost because we've let her rule us like this." No one dared speak up on the Queen's behalf as the cards lowered their weapons, "When will it end?! She's only gotten this much power because we just stood on the side and allowed her to. And that's not even to mention the fact, the real culprits that tried to steal her heart have been threatening us for days and she hasn't done a thing about it. Anyone who tried to explain the situation to her lost their head as well! How can we follow a Queen who only thinks of herself?! How many more will die because we let her?!"
With that, one by one the cards drop their weapons much to heroes' shock. One of the cards stated, "She was never fit to lead us. We never should have allowed her to end the lives of so many."
"But... but if the Queen won't lead us," One of the cards asked, "Then who will?"
The White Rabbit thought for a moment before turning to Elsa, "You said you're a Queen where you're from? Will you lead us?"
"I... appreciate the thought," The Snow Queen replied before shaking her head, "But I know very little of your Kingdom or what you need to lead you. However, I do see who is fit to lead these people."
"Really?" Sora spoke up as he tilted his head, "Who then?"
"Our friend," Elsa smiled as turned to the rabbit, "The White Rabbit."
"M-me?" The White Rabbit gasped in shock, "Why me?"
"You have a good heart," Elsa smiled, "And you saw an injustice act and even helped us when I doubt anyone else would have. Even speaking out against her as well. I have a feeling you know this Kingdom's needs more than she ever did."
The more Elsa spoke the more the people seemed to agree with her. The White Rabbit turned to Sora and Spidey. Sora put away his Keyblade went to a relaxed position while giving him a friendly smile. Spidey gave him a nod and a thumbs up. The rabbit admitted, "Still, I don't think I can do it on my own."
"Well, you don't have to," The Mad Hatter smiled as he enjoyed his cup of tea, "We'll help you."
The White Rabbit turned to the hatter in shock, "You will."
"Yeah, we know there must be tons of 'laws' the bloody big head wrote," The March Hare added, "We'll help you find a more fair law where this won't happen again."
"T-thank you," The White Rabbit nodded, "I try not to let any of you down."
"Now then," One of the cards asked, "What of the Queen? Should she lose her head for what she's done?"
"No, we're just as guilty for letting do so. Besides, there has been enough killing," The White Rabbit shook his head before deciding, "Lock her up. She will spend the rest of her days behind bars. Never to harm an innocent soul again."
They nodded the two cards carried their former Queen off before some of the other cards turned to the guardians, "And what of these three as well as Alice?"
"Alice, as well as our three friends, are cleared of all charges accused by the Queen," The White Rabbit stated before smiling, "If you find Alice, feel free to help her find her way home."
Elsa smiled as she gave a respectful bow to the rabbit, "Thank you. We will certainly do so."
Spidey added, "Well, also deal with the monsters for you as well. We'll have a pretty good idea who sent them."
"Then we'll leave you to it," The White Rabbit nodded in gratitude, "The rest of us will focus on fixing our home." He then chuckled, "This is turning out to be quite an unbirthday this year."
"Wait!" The Mad Hatter gasped, "It's your Unbirthday too?!"
The March Hare gasped in shock too, "It is?!"
All of the cards still there gasped in shock as well, "It is?!"
Spider-Man, Elsa, and Sora all stared in confusion as the superhero wondered, "What is happening right now?"
Without missing a beat, every resident in Wonderland began singing, "A very merry unbirthday~"
"To me?" The White Rabbit asked in shock and happiness.
"To you," Everyone nodded as the Mad Hatter and March Hare presented him with a birthday cake, "A very merry unbirthday~"
"To me?" The rabbit asked again before taking a small taste in the cake.
Once again the cards nodded, "For you~"
"Now blow the candles out, good man," The Mad Hatter told him as he chuckled, "And make your dreams come true."
With that, the White Rabbit blew out the candles and a present magically appeared in front of him. He proceeded to unwrap it and inside was a brand new shiny pocket watch much to his happiness as the Guardians stared in confusion while everyone else finished the 'unbirthday' song, "A very merry unbirthday~ to~ you~"
Everyone cheered for the White Rabbit while the three from the outside worlds clapped slowly as they had no idea what happened. Sora turned to the adults in confusion, "What's an unbirthday?"
"I have no idea," Spider-Man admitted, "But I don't want to overstay our welcome to ask."
"Yeah," Elsa nodded in agreement, "We should find Alice, deal with the Heartless, and keep moving."
"Okay," Sora shrugged as they discreetly left the sudden party...
They made their retreat into the Lotus Forrest, the same forest they had gathered evidence to clear Alice's name. Peter bluntly stated, "Well, I think it's safe to assume this is the strangest world by far."
"Well, including our own," Sora pointed out, "We've only been on three worlds so far so isn't it a little early to judge?"
"Maybe so," Peter shrugged, "But I bet even a third of them are nearly as crazy as this one."
"I just wonder who could have taken Alice," Elsa admitted worried about the little girl, "We never even gotten to her and the Queen of Hearts was just as confused as we were so it couldn't have been her."
"We could go back and ask around," Sora admitted, "Should be a whole lot easier with the Queen dethroned."
"That's an option," Elsa nodded to Sora, "But they're currently celebrating and I doubt they'd know anything. However, we do have one other option..."
Spider-Man raised an eyebrow, "What is it?" Elsa gave him a 'you know' look before he understood who she was referring to, he quickly shook his head, "Oh no! Not that cat with the riddles again!"
"He helped find the proof we need," Elsa pointed out, "Even hinted that she tried to place false evidence against us. If there's anyone who knows who responsible for taking Alice, it's him."
Spider-Man groaned in annoyance, "I hate it when you're right." He then looked up to the sky, "I know you've been watching us for some time. I hope you enjoyed the laughs."
"Oh, I did indeed," The Chesire Cat appeared next to Spidey, much to the shock of the others, while Spidey wasn't nearly as shocked. The cat continued, "Oh, I loved the role you all played in making the Queen mad. You, in particular, I have never seen her so angry at an individual to straight out attack them herself." The cat chuckled as he wiped a tear, "Thanks for that."
"Yeah, well, now you owe us," Spider-Man turned to the cat, "Have you seen Alice?"
"Well, I suppose one good turn deserves another," The cat admitted before answering, "Alice, no. Shadows, yes!"
They all knew what shadows meant, as Sora stepped forward, "Where are they?"
"This way? That way? Does it matter?" The Cheshire Cat pointed in two separate directions before shrugging, "Left, right, up, down! All mixed up thanks to the shadows!"
Spider-Man moaned before telling the cat, "Just give us a straight answer for once."
"Step deeper into the forest to the deserted garden." The mysterious cat told them before gesturing a head, "You might find shadows in the upside-down room! I'll meet you there!"
With that, the cat vanished from their sights, before Sora called out, "Wait! What do you mean upside-down room?!"
"Hold on," Peter cut him off, "Remember when we were looking for evidence? To clear Alice's name?"
Elsa turned to him confused, "It wasn't that long ago."
"Well, some of the paths here lead us to the different parts of the room with the talking doorknob," Spider-Man pointed out, "I bet somewhere in here is a path to a room..."
"...where everything in that room is upside down, meaning we'd be on the ceiling of that room," The Princess understood, "Okay, fair point. However, where is the entrance to that room? We must have searched all over this forest when looking proof of Alice's innocence."
Spider-Man then pointed out, "Actually, there's one place we haven't tried yet..."
Sora tilted his head in confusion as Elsa raised an eyebrow...
Moments later, after fighting off a group of Heartless, Spider-Man pushed aside a boulder blocking off a pathway that they didn't bother checking before. Sora leaned to the pathway as Elsa turned to Spider-Man, "You think the pathway to the ceiling is this way?"
Sora proudly stated, "Only one way to find out."
With that, Sora walked through the pathway as the adults followed him cautiously. When they reached the end of the forest, they spotted an entire room where it looked like someone was having a tea party. And there was a photo of the March Hare and Mad Hatter hanging next to the table. Spidey sighed, "Or this could be the home where the Mad Hatter and March Hare live."
Sora then gestured to the door on the side, "What about that way?"
Seeing no other way forward, Elsa shrugged, "Well, we came all the way here."
Figuring they give it a try, they walked over to the door and opened it. After going through, they entered a strange-looking room. Sora looked up before blinking, "I guess we're here."
Elsa raised an eyebrow, "How can you be so sure?" Sora point to the ceiling above them as she and Spidey took a look. That's when they realized they weren't looking at the ceiling, they were looking on the floor below them causing the former to gasp, "Oh my gosh!"
"Yep," Spider-Man nodded feeling awkward he was doing this without his spider-powers, "I'd say this be the place."
Sora turned to him, "So, what now?"
Just then, the Cheshire Cat reappeared before them, "They're hiding somewhere. And the momeraths outgrabe. Want to find the shadows?" He then gestured to the candle next to him, "Try turning on the light."
He then vanished from their sights. Sora turned to the adults before Spidey gave him a nod, "Try it."
Sora then proceeded to run towards the candle, he grabbed onto the edge before hopping on. He summoned his Keyblade before using it to light the candle with fire magic. The cat then reappeared by another candle, "It's too dim. Make it brighter. One more lamp that you need to light."
Sora sighed as he hopped on over to the second candle and lit it as well. He then hopped down to his teammates as the cat reappeared. Elsa turned to him, "What did that accomplish?"
The Cheshire Cat answered with a smirk, "All the lights are on. You'll see the shadows soon. They'll arise in this room, but somewhere else. The shadows might go after that doorknob, too."
The cat vanished once again as Sora wondered, "Why the Doorknob?"
"Sora," Spidey pointed out, "He's a living doorknob, which means he must have a heart. His life could be in danger."
"Right," Sora nodded, "How do we get back?"
Spidey then held on to him before grabbing Elsa as well. The Princess gasped in shock, "Hold on! What are you doing?!"
"I thought we'd take a shortcut," Spider-Man smirked as he prepared to jump, "Hope this works!"
With that, he made the jump as Elsa screamed as they headed towards the floor below. They then proceeded to flip at the right moment as they all landed on the table. Sora laughed, "That was awesome! Can we do that again?!"
"No," Elsa shook her head quickly, "Never again!"
Just then, the cat reappeared before them as he smirked, "The shadows should be here soon." He tapped his toes daintily on the table, "Are you prepared for the worst? If not, too bad!"
He pointed back to the ceiling as the enormous Trickmaster Heartless appeared. It landed on the floor with its accordion-like hands and jumped over the table, landing on its large pointed boots. It stands up to its full height, towering over the table, unraveling both of its long arms. It stared down at them with its five stacked heads. It folds its arms together and pulls out two giant matches, twirling them in the air. Elsa's eyes narrowed, "A commander Heartless!"
"Then if we take this one down," Spidey realized, "We slow the Heartless assault on this world! Just like in Traverse Town."
Sora then summoned his Keyblade and went into his battle stance, "Then let's do this!"
He jumped off the table and struck the Heartless on the chest three times before landing on the ground. Once on the ground, the Heartless swung its own weapons at Sora as it barely misses. The Keyblade's Chosen dodged roll away as Elsa unleashed a powerful blast of ice and snow pushing the monster back.
Spider-Man then swung it as he used his webbing to wrap its legs causing the Heartless to trip and fall hard on the ground. Sora used this opportunity to strike the Heartless with this weapon before it broke free. It then proceeded to swing its weapons at Spidey, "Hey! I know I may be the size of one, but don't swat me like a common arachnid!"
Elsa shook her head in disbelief, "What is it with him and the joking..."
"Wait," Sora pointed out, "I think he's making the Heartless focus on him and not us. He did it before when we were trying to save Alice from the Queen of Hearts."
Elsa blinked in shock to realize he was right. Every time he seemed to joke around, he made their enemies solely focus on him giving them a chance to do what they need to do. She then nodded, "Okay, then let's make it count!"
They chased after the monster trying to squash Spider-Man. Sora and Elsa attacked its legs but their attacks seemed to bounce off. Sora's eyes widened, "It's not working!"
"It's chest!" Elsa realized, "It was only hurt when we attacked it's chest!"
"Got it!" Sora nodded as he aimed his Keyblade at the Heartless chest, "Fire!"
A ball of fire struck the Heartless dead on, however, instead of hurting it, the torches it used lit up. Spider-Man eyes widened, "Okay! That didn't help! Now it's trying to set me on fire!"
The superhero dodged the flames as Sora flinched, "Sorry!"
It launched a ball of fire at Spider-Man causing him to dodge it as he complained, "Wait! You can throw fire too?! I am so due for a superpower upgrade!"
Sora's eyes widened, "Teach me!"
Elsa turned to him in confusion, "What?"
"Teach me how to use ice magic," Sora asked the Princess, "If fire strengthens it, then ice mush be its weakness! The Cheshire Cat gave me ice magic so teach me how to use it."
Elsa saw Sora's point. She really did. However, the moment she learned he could use ice magic too, she felt immediate concern. She has known the risks of ice magic ever since she was a little girl, when she almost ended her own sister's life. She didn't want anyone to bare this curse as well. Especially someone like Sora. She warned him, "You don't know what your asking? Sora, that power, comes with a heavy amount of responsibility, one I've tried my whole life to conceal..."
"I can teach him the whole great power comes great responsibility speech later," Spider-Man pointed out as he dodged another fireball, "Just teach him ice magic so we can stop this monster before he turns me extra crispy!"
Elsa sighed realizing they didn't have much of a choice before turning to Sora, "I'll give you the quick run down..."
She then told him all the emotions she felt when using her curse, how he could use them with at least somewhat control. As she was explaining this, Sora once again received flashes of the other Keyblade Wielder again, this time using the spell he wished to use. With the visions ended and Elsa finished her explanation, he gave her a nod as they proceeded to climb up the table to get a better shot. Once they were on, Sora aimed his Keyblade at the Heartless as he exclaimed, "Deep freeze!"
An icy blast was launched from Sora's Keyblade as Elsa blasted her own as well. Both ice magic struck the Heartless in chest causing in to wince in pain as the fires died down. Spidey then came back with a swinging kick knocking it down. Sora leaped off the table as he began smashing the Heartless again with his Keyblade. It quickly recovered and began to continue its assault. Spider-Man groaned in annoyance, "Will this fight ever end!"
Just then, they heard barking, as Sora turned his head, "Pluto?"
Pluto ran through the hole they first entered to room through to the rescue as he knocked down the Heartless back. Sora cheered, "Good boy!"
Spider-Man then looked to the recovering Heartless before back at the giant dog. That's when he remembered, "Wait a minute! That's not a giant Heartless! It's a normal-sized one! We're just small!"
"So, all we need to do is get to normal size again," Sora followed his thought, "And we can beat this thing!"
"Exactly!" Spider-Man nodded, "But how we do it, I'm not sure!"
"Keep it distracted," Elsa spoke up as she ran towards the door the White Rabbit went through, "I'll ask the Doorknob!"
They nodded as they went to aid the King's dog. Elsa ran over to the Doorknob before clapped her hands loudly, waking up him up, "Who?! What?! Where?!"
"Sorry, We need your help," Elsa stated, "We're trying to save your life from a monster and we need to get big again to beat it. How do we get back to normal size?"
The Doorknob yawned before suggesting, "Why don't you try the box, naturally?"
Just then, a small box with treats appeared next to Elsa. She picked one up as she read what was on the treat, "Eat me."
She then turned to her allies as she saw Pluto try to keep the Heartless down with his paws. Sora and Spidey stood by ready to aid the dog. She turned back to the treat as she whispered to herself, "No time to figure out what's in here."
She then ate the treat before humming, "Hmmm... it's actually pretty- Whoa!" Elsa then proceeded to grow back to her normal size, "Okay! Guess I should have seen that coming!" She then turned towards her teammates and commanded the dog, "Back off, Pluto!"
The dog hopped off the Heartless as Elsa proceeded to give a simple light ice blast which froze the monster where it stood freezing it solid. Spider-Man then offered Sora a boost, "Sora! Finish this!"
Sora ran towards him as he placed his foot on his hand as Spidey through the boy at the Heartless. With one final slash, the ice broke as the Heartless finally fell. As it faded away, a heart floated out of it before vanishing as well. Sora chuckled, "We did it!"
Everyone sighed in relief as Pluto panted happily when all of a sudden they heard a yawn. They all turned to the Doorknob as he muttered, "What a racket. How's a doorknob to get any sleep."
He yawned loudly as he opened his mouth widely. As he did, they saw a Keyhole inside his mouth. A light shined around Sora's Keyblade and it reacted with a will of its own, aiming at the Keyhole and releasing a beam of white light. They heard a locking sound and the doorknob finished yawning. Spider-Man turned to Sora, "What just happened?"
"I'm not sure," Sora admitted, "The last time it happened I used it to unlock a door, I'm not sure what I did this time."
"Well, it sounded like you locked something," The giant-sized Elsa turned to the tiny men, "I could have swore I heard something lock."
Just then, a small green object fell to the ground in front of them, Elsa wonder, "What's that?"
Spider-Man picked it up as he observed it, "It looks similar to what our ship is made of. Stan might know what it is."
Just then, the Cheshire Cat reappeared behind him as Pluto growled at the cat. He simply chuckled at them, "Splendid. You three are quite the heroes. If you're looking for Alice, she's not here. She's gone! Off with the shadows, into darkness."
"What?" Sora gasped in horror, "The Heartless took her? Why?"
"On their masters' orders," The cat answered, "Surely you must have heard of them."
Elsa gasped in horror, "The Masters of Evil."
"What would they want with Alice," Spider-Man's eyes narrowed, "She's just a girl."
"Oh, she's more special than you realize," The Cheshire Cat answered, "Still, you have a chance to save her No the less. After all, you did save my world from the Heartless so what's one more girl?" His eyes lit up, "Oh, and before I forget, there are others that could use your help."
The cat snapped his paws like fingers as a chest appeared in front of Sora. Pluto sniffed it as Sora looked at it cautiously, "What's inside it?"
The cat simply chuckled, "Why spoil the surprise?"
He chuckled as he vanished from their sight. Spider-Man muttered, "I really don't like that cat."
Sora approached the chest, he recalled Yuffie mentioning that the Keyblade could open all sorts of chests. He gave it a light tap as he opened it. Sora beamed, "Puppies!"
Sure enough, six Dalmatian puppies barked happily as they tried to climb out of the box. Elsa gave a light giggle, "Where did they come from?"
Sora rubbed the head of one of the puppies, "I actually met some people who said they lost their Dalmatian puppies when they lost their world. I promise I'd keep an eye out for them."
"Well," Spider-Man nodded as he too petted one of the puppies, "At least some good came from all of this."
Elsa turned to Pluto, "If we bring them to the ship, could you watch after them until we return to Traverse Town."
Pluto barked as he nodded. Sora turned to Elsa, "How did you grow back?"
"There's a chest nearby," Elsa answered, "Just take one treat and you should be back to normal size."
"Right," Sora nodded before clapping his hands, "Come on guys, let's all get a treat."
That was all Sora needed to say to get the puppies excited and followed him. As they prepared to get to normal size, Spidey whispered to Elsa, "Unless the Heartless come back to threaten this world, we're never coming here again."
Elsa nodded in agreement, "You read my mind."
And that will conclude today's chapter. Lots of changes in Alice's trial and even some nods to the original film. I'm sure you can point them out. Plus physical appearances of the March Hare, Mad Hatter, and the Doormouse. And the White Rabbit had a bigger role than he did in the game too! :)
Unfortunately, much like the original timeline, the villains managed to kidnap Alice. Unlike it though, they now know that the Masters of Evil are responsible. And Pluto sticking around in this timeline.
Now then, on to the preview. As our heroes ponder, why the Masters of Evil took Alice, Elsa questions his tactics as a mentor for herself and Sora. They journey to the next world where they learn of the trainer of heroes. They also meet another who wishes to become a true hero. The four must learn what it takes to become a true hero and Go the Distance if they wish to survive their first encounter with the Masters of Evil.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Be sure to leave a review. Also, if you haven't already, be sure to leave a follow and fav. as well. See you next time!
