Scene Change: Magnolia, Main Street, Year x 765

Rep Pov

Ok, so I am now just realizing the reason why that mechanic from ZX was a thing. All the people in town are looking at me weird and probably because I'm in Harpuia mode.

I'm currently walking down Magnolia's Main Street, on my way to Fairy Tail. The kids are out on a job with Wakaba since he was alone for a bit with Macao trying his best to be a good dad. I let the kids take a job with him so long as it was a B rank and they were with Wakaba the entire time. The kids still haven't become as strong as Macao and Wakaba yet, but I can trust them to take care of themselves on a mid-B rank mission.

I need to take this chance of a free day to replenish the supplies I've used up in teaching Bruno despite him not coming to the sessions for a few weeks, so much paper and ink just gone. Not to mention I should probably pick up some spices too since I'm running low on those.

'But first I need the Jewels to pay for them so I need to get to Fairy Tail.' I thought, speeding up my pace, and noticing all of the stares I was getting.

I thought it'd be fine to walk through town in my armor since I've gone through town in Zero form before, but they probably were just writing it off as a 'mage doing mage things' since I was barely wearing any armor all those other times. Now though I'm literally covered from head to toe in armor designed for flight and walking to the Fairy Tail guild hall as if nothing is wrong.

I don't really want to draw too much attention when I get there, but at the same time it's Fairy Tail. They'll cause a ruckus no matter what I do, even if I come decked out in even bulky armor.

Either way, I don't want to disturb the public so….

With a mental command, the armor of Model H disappeared in a flash of light and in its place was the armor of Model Z. Instead of wings on my head, there was the familiar weight of long hair. That little light show might have attracted some more attention to me but now at least they'll recognize me as a mage instead of a weirdo with a strange hobby.

After the change, it felt like all of the stares died down. But now there are people whispering, feverishly so and while I could hear them it would be rude to listen in so I actually enhanced my hearing making it so that I could hear all of the whispers at the same time. Enhanced Intellect or no, I still can't make out multiple conversations at once.

Oh, right my helmet. That's probably what's got them still talking like that, I figured out a while back how to alter what armors I'm actually wearing since I didn't want to wear that diaper thing Zero had when he fought Omega. Might as well make a couple alterations again while I walk.

I changed only a few things while not even changing my strides, having practiced altering my armor for the purpose of changing my defenses on the fly in battle. The helmet disappeared, making it so that my hair was no longer held up by it, taking the gauntlet like armor on my forearms and the black armor plates on my legs went with it, leaving only the white pants that turned black while in Zero form, a pair of pants that I've had since I came to this world.

For some reason the clothes I had on when I came to Fiore grew with me so I never had to buy new clothes, though they didn't grow at the same rate I did. Because the clothes grew slower than I did, my pants are less of a pair of pants and are now practically shorts. Luckily the material it's made of is stretchy so I can still wear them with some decency.

Still though the stares continued a foreboding feeling in them. Why do I feel like somethind bad's gonna happen? Am I forgetting something?

I am not going to pull a "Two and a Half Men", what am I forgetting? Definitely not one of the kids, like I said they're with Wakaba on a job.

Did Macao ask me to do something for him? No, I haven't seen him in almost a month now.

Makarov? Did he give me a job that I forgot about? No, wait if he did then HUD would've told me about it before I left the cave.

'HUD, tell me. Am I forgetting something?' With that mental question HUD as per usual beamed some info into my head, apparently not. Still though I can shake off the feeling, what's going on?

That thought was stuck in my head the entire time until I reached my destination in the form of the Fairy Tail guild hall. The doors, larger than I am and the hall being the tallest building in the town by far. While I have grown since coming to this world, being transformed has me at the same height as a kid on the verge of puberty.

Which reminds me, why did puberty not hit me like a truck this time? Maybe it's because I'm a cyborg this time around.

Opening the door and readying myself for a flying chair, or table. Or a person. A flying anything really.

As I did so, I saw the guild being rowdy as ever. There were who knows how many people fighting, some others drinking. Jane was acting as the barmaid, considering that I now know her and Bruno to be the parents of the Strauss siblings, that checks out though she seems strangely subdued. Almost depressed, not showing the happiness she's had ever since Mira was born. Makarov was in his usual spot sitting on the bar counter and drinking his old age away.

Then there was the fight, it wasn't lively like I was expecting. And why does it seem like Makarov's drinking is a bit more, I don't know how to explain it properly but I guess desperate fits?

All in all Fairy Tail was being Fairy Tail, despite the little things and I'm all for it. At least I was until I was hit in the head with a flying barrel. Again.

Ignoring the hit and my energy reserves taking a hit that was quickly replenished thanks to my slowly improving magic reserves, I walked over to Makarov intent on asking if he had any spare jobs I could take. It's been a while since the last time I took one and I need the jewels to replenish my supplies, since I've been using even more after taking Bruno as another student.

Still a little weird to be teaching someone older than me, at least physically but meh.

As I walked over, I noticed that the fight stopped. I guess they were running out of steam when I came. The people sitting at the guild's bar weren't chatting either, that's a first.

As I came up to Makarov, Jane noticed me and, like the wonderful person she is, decided to set about getting something for me. Despite how many times I told her I don't need to drink. I guess that's to be expected of her though, the siblings' stubbornness and Lisanna's kindness shine through in her.

Coming to a stop in front of Makarov who had set down his mug, I noticed that most of the guild was watching me. What's going on? Wait, where is-.

No, that couldn't have happened after all Elfman and Lisanna haven't-

Quickly changing the question I was going to ask, I commanded HUD to keep a constant scan of Makarov to know if he's lying or not and using the little bit of Harpuia's system that I managed to integrate to have some form of surveillance on Jane.

"What happened?" I asked using Zero's tone, knowing that I would only get an evasive answer if I didn't. "And where's Bruno? What happened to him?"

"He was injured in his attempt to gain a new Take Over during his latest mission." Answered Makarov, a grim look on his face. "He was successful, but he hadn't kept a proper eye on the other beasts that he was supposed to subdue and they managed to get the jump on him after the process left him drained."

"He's currently under the care of master's old friend Porlyusica." Said Jane, placing a mug of what smells like coffee on the counter with a carefully blank expression. "Here, you might need this. I remember you saying something about not being able to drink alcohol, but you will need this. Heaven knows I did."

After having HUD do a quick scan to see if it would be safe for me to drink, I sat down on the bar stool next to Makarov where Jane set the coffee and took a sip of the first drink I've had in a decade.

The taste was familiar, sweet from the cream before the bitterness of the coffee set in. From all of the coffees I've had in my previous life, this was able to beat them all out by a mile.

Taking another sip of the coffee before setting it down, using the vaguely familiar action to recenter myself.

"How long has he been there?" I ask, recognizing I wasn't using any of the tones of the biometals. In fact, I couldn't even recognize my own voice. "I was wondering why he hadn't been making it to the training sessions for a while, was it because of this?"

"Yes," answered Jane, a frown breaking the blank expression from before, her eyes were red and puffy. "He's stable but his leg has been injured permanently and weakened drastically, it doesn't look like he could ever be an active mage again."

"That so," I said, trying to think of a way to maybe help Bruno. "Anything I can do to help?"

"You've done more than enough my boy." Said Makarov, looking me in the eye with a rare serious expression. "I couldn't ask more of you for one of my children, we will find a way to help him. For now focus on training Laxus and Cana, they'll be back before long."

"Do you have any jobs I can take?" I ask, finishing the coffee and standing up getting off the bar stool. "I've been runnning low on supplies."

"Yes, this should keep you busy for a few days while the kids are out, and while Bruno is recovering. " Makarov said, with Jane handing over a few pieces of paper. Each of them depicting different types of jobs. Monster extermination, Bandit routings. He already knew I'd need these didn't he? "Porlyusica doesn't take well to visitors and even more so to visitors who aren't even part of the guild."

I grab the papers and read through them, memorizing them and having HUD list them under the gauge to keep track of them all before leaving the guild hall while re-equiping my helmet and armor.

Everyone, silent as the grave.

I hope Makarov is ok with me using this as an opportunity to vent some of this frustration out on those jobs.

Scene Change: Same year, sky above a mountain range far from Magnolia, twenty minutes later

This is my first time using Model H to travel like this, having flown at the highest speed I have ever gone. Daring to use Harpuia's memories stored in the biometal instead of my own experience to know how to reach these speeds.

It should feel freeing, uplifting. Being able to fly under my own power like this, but I only feel numb. Even with the wind hitting my face, the speeds that are supposed to feel exhilarating only feels like something in the background. Like the only thing that matters right now is finding those bandit camps,

And wiping them from the face of Fiore.

As I thought that I, using the enhanced eyesight provided by Harpuia, noticed the bandit camp it's still pretty far off but I can get there pretty soon if I just speed up a little.

Ignoring the beam of information that HUD was sending into my head for now, I did just that. Appearing in the sky above the bandit camp containing the wolf's head gang according to the job description. The analysis system being enhanced by X's and Zero's systems showing their numbers and level of strength.

Nothing unusual, just the standard level of strength you can expect from scum like this. I can defeat them by using my usual strategy: just pick them apart one by one until there's no one left. But right now, this is a job to vent, so I'm not going to. Instead, I'm gonna act like a Fairy Tail mage.

I'm going to wipe their camp in one attack.

Summoning Harpuia's signature twin sabers, I begin to circle the camp drawing on my internal power source and magic core as I do so. Lacing the energies into the sabers and lining them as I tilt slightly causing the winds to pick up as I draw circles in the now clear skies.

The bandit camp showed no signs of them seeing me in the sky, which is weird since I never dampened the noise. Nonetheless it works in my favor.

Speeding up, I poured more energy into the sabers causing the wind to become visible from the speeds I was creating, lightning now splintering itself off of me from the magic I was channeling along with the elemental energy attributed to Model H.

By this point the wind was loud enough to get the attention of the bandits below me, with them looking up at the forming tornado so I sped up the process moving faster and faster expending more power than usual to create the attack. At this point the tornado was partially formed and was tearing through the camp, the bandits screaming and scrambling to get away from it.

Deciding to make the tornado bigger, I up the output of the flight module once more, speeding up while also making the vortex bigger. As I do so HUD beamed more info into my head, this time with a notification appearing in the corner of my view as well as a shrill tone in my ears overpowering the sound of the vortex.

[Notice: energy overflow detected, probability of destruction of subject at 30% and rising.]

[Solution Found: Duel System Engagement, otherwise known as "Double Megamerge" now available for Model(s) X and H]

[Proceed?]

[Y/N]

What? How do I have that function? It shouldn't be available until- Model H's gauge is full. It's full.

I can use it, I can blast this camp away while unlocking a new form and avoiding what seems to be my death. Of course I'm going to use it!

Landing knowing that the tornado would keep the bandits off me for a while. The armor of Model H left me, standing there in my normal non-merged clothes with both Model H and Model X in my left and right hands. Listening to the beam of info that HUD sent me earlier, I held both Model H and X faced out with my arms crossed before saying-

[Double Megamerge]

[Biomatch Confirmed]

[Biolink Established]

[Duel System Engagement: Active]

[R.O.C.K System Online]

R.O.C.K system?

Before I could think further, I felt a rush of energy flowing through me distracting me from the different name than usual. The energy flow was almost overwhelming, it's no wonder why I had to reach full affinity with both fragments before I could use them. If I didn't it probably would've caused me to explode on the first try.

As the flow started to die down a bit, the armor began to manifest itself. More bulky than Model H's armor alone, yet still lighter than Model X's. The weight is different than I thought, the jets on my head were even smaller than what I expected.

Once the light died down and I could see again, I looked down at the armor on was really different to the armor from canon. With the jacket split between blue and green instead of being a solid green, that color scheme even being the same for the rest. What's going on?

Shaking my head to regain my focus I take off once more, or at least I try to. The dash jets were a lot stronger than I expected, I ended up being sent even higher than I thought.

Re-orienting myself, I hover in place a bit while trying to get a hold of the massive amount of pure power rushing through my veins. Managing to get the energy under control I try to summon Harpuia's sabers back into my hands, except I didn't.

Instead of summoning a pair of sabers I ended up summoning a single saber in my right hand, albeit this one was a little different. The blade was blue instead of purple and was a little longer than the two but not by too much when compared to the longer one of the two, almost like the two of them were combined with the smaller saber being added onto the longer one.

'HUD, why do I only have one saber?' As I asked this HUD beamed some more info into my head, the combined form has mutations. That's why the jets were so much stronger and why the two sabers are combined now, I could even summon the Mega Buster to my other arm too which I promptly do with it looking different than usual as well.

The buster didn't have its normal blue and white style, but instead was colored mostly green with blue accents. Even the gem inside the barrel was different, being yellow instead of red. Why is it so different from Vent and Aile?

"AAHH!" a shrill scream interrupting my thoughts, I look down at the camp and see the destruction I ended up causing.

Almost everything was decimated, the campsite was completely erased with all of the sitting logs destroyed. All of the tents were sent flying making what appears to look like cells appear. With women and children inside them, that wasn't in the description, these guys were slavers.

I can't just blast the bandits away in one attack, I might end up hurting one of the people in the cells. Damnit.

Combing through the data that HUD sent through my mind, and drawing on the experience in Models H and X I charge up the Mega Buster while flying at the fastest speed recorded by Harpuia, heading toward the cells.

Once I get there, I lace lightning magic into the saber and drawing on Harpuia's combat experience I send a volley of energy blades at the bandits closest to the cells, one of them even trying to grab one of the slaves as hostage.

Unfortunately for him though, he's lined up with the last of the slavers and the Mega Buster is charged up.

Launching a charge shot at the slaver, hitting him and three others behind him knocking out the last of the bandits, I fly over to the cells and slash the locks off using the saber. The people inside were understandably scared of me, huddled up in the corner and trying to seem small and harmless. Just what have these people gone through?

Dismissing my weapons I step back away from the cages, letting them see that they're free to go while also having the systems run an analysis of the people to see how hurt they are.

"You're safe now, the slavers have been defeated." I said drawing on X's experience to soften my voice to try to comfort the people. "I need you to stay here while I round up all of them and bring them to the Rune Knights, when I come back I'll have some healers with me."

Turning away I activate the dash jets and flight module, setting a course for the closest Rune Knights outpost once I gather up the slavers. Taking off, I blitz around grabbing all of the unconscious bandits, most of them injured heavily.

Some of them were even injured to the point that if I don't get them medical attention they might die from all of the slash wounds, even that one slaver who tried to take a hostage being heavily injured almost, all of his front torso being burned to a crisp covered in red and black flesh.

I didn't mean to hurt them this badly, I even had my weapons set to stun and yet I still almost killed these people. One of them is even dying as we fly.

I'm not ready for double megamerge yet, I can't control it. Especially while this angry.

A/N:

Thanks for the reads guys. I wasn't really expecting so many people to actually like this so I'll do my best to keep improving and make it the best I can. I got a couple questions in the latest review so I'll be using this AN to answer them, sorry for lengthening the chapter like this.

MBS41; for the question about whether or not Rep looks human, he does. He actually is human but has robotic enhancements a la Megaman ZX era technology combined with magic, thus explaining his inability to eat and ability to function using sunlight only. As for taking requests, I don't really since I'm still a rookie but will take what you're asking for into account since I already have a bunch of ideas in the works, with Pokemon being one. However I want to finish Guns and Laser Swords first so that might not happen for a long time.

Sorry for the short chapter guys, I'm hitting a bit of a slump to be honest. I might end up taking longer than before to get the chapters out now but I'll still try to keep from taking too long.

Once again thanks for reading guys!
