A/n: Wow, it's been awhile since I last updated this story. Sorry about that. There is a specific reason that I decided to update today. That reason is that it is my bestie's birthday today. Without her this story would never have been posted. She encouraged me to post because she thought that it was really good. All the way back in 2020, I wrote the first chapter of this story as an assignment for creative writing class. I never planned for anyone else to see it other than the teacher and my best friend because we both love My Hero Academia. My bestie read it and said it should be posted for others to read and enjoy. Happy Birthday Bestie, I hope you enjoy this chapter. So without further ado I give you the next chapter.
It was the next day and Izumi couldn't wait to hear Hari's answer. Izumi was so excited she didn't see her parents walk into the kitchen, where she was preparing breakfast and her lunch.
"What's got you all excited, sweetheart?" Hisashi said, scaring the life out of Izumi.
"DAD! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" Izumi yelled as she whipped around to face her parents, clenching her fist to her chest. Once she was facing both her parents she could see that they were trying to hold in their laughter. "Go ahead, laugh it up," Izumi said with a pout in her face.
"We're sorry baby, we didn't mean to scare you," Inko said as she came up to Izumi's side, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Anyways answer your dad's question?" Inko says as she walks back to her bedroom to get ready.
"Why do you think I'm excited about anything?"
"Well first of all, you weren't paying attention like you usually do and second, you're up at five in the morning when you know that school doesn't start until eight," Hisashi said as he made his way over to Izumi to also give her a kiss on the forehead.
"Well you see…" Izumi said as she tried to come up with something believable to tell Hisashi.
"Nope. I know that tone of voice. Out with the truth," Hisashi said sternly.
"Fine. I made a deal with a classmate that if his brother agreed I would have a week to prove to him why he should let me be his friend."
"What led up to this decision of his Izumi?"
"I may have teared up a little bit, causing Kacchan to get mad at said classmate for almost making me cry and then he said he would talk to his brother," Izumi said sheepishly.
"So basically what I'm getting is you used guilt tripping to get your way?" Hisashi stated blandly.
"I mean technically, but…" Izumi started before being cut off by her dad.
"We both know what your mother would say about this. Me, I say that if you had good intentions behind this then you better show this classmate of yours the best week of his life," Hisashi said with a small smirk on his face.
"Oh my god dad you scared me, I thought I was in trouble," Izumi sighed with relief.
"Oh just be glad it was me who questioned you and not your mother otherwise you would be in very deep trouble."
"Does this mean I can leave now?" Izumi said with puppy dog eyes.
"No," Hisashi replied very bluntly.
"But dad, you said I wasn't in trouble!"
"And you're not but I don't remember you eating breakfast yet, so once you have had breakfast then you may leave," Hisashi commented with a chuckle.
"I almost forgot to have breakfast! Thanks for reminding me dad," Izumi said with an award winning smile on her face.
"Well we all know how you get when you don't eat. I wouldn't wish that on anybody."
"Haha dad, very funny," Izumi said sarcastically.
After having breakfast Izumi was out the door and ready to meet up with Kacchan.
Once arriving at Katsuki house Izumi knocked on the door. Mitsuki answered the door.
"Hello sweetie, the brat is just finishing up his breakfast. Why don't you come in and wait," Mitsuki said sweetly.
"Thank you so much Auntie!" Izumi says as she hugs Mitsuki and walks to the kitchen where Masaru is eating and Katsuki is getting up to take care of his dishes. "Morning Kacchan, morning Uncle!"
"Good morning Izumi." Masaru greets politely.
"Morning Mi-chan," Katsuki grunts. "So what are plans for getting that third year to become your friend?"
"You'll just have to wait and see Kacchan." Izumi says with a smirk.
"Whatever nerd." Katsuki huffs with a smile.
"Besides I still don't know what his brother's answer is so I don't even know if I'll get the chance to try and become his friend." Izumi said dejectedly.
"Mi-chan, if he decides he doesn't want to be our friend then he doesn't even deserve you to be upset, because he is clearly delusional. You are amazing and a great friend." Katsuki says honestly.
"Alright you two, time for you to head out otherwise you will both be late." Mitsuki says, smiling.
"That's right! Come on Kacchan it's time to go." Izumi says heading to the door. "I love Auntie and Uncle, I'll see you later."
"See ya hag and dad." Katsuki grabs his bag and starts after Izumi.
"What did you say Katsuki?" Masaru questioned.
"Uhhh…bye mom, bye dad, love you." Katsuki rushed out before he could make Masaru upset.
"That's what I thought you said son." Masaru said with a smile. "See you after school Katsuki, don't cause too much trouble."
"Try and keep him out of trouble, Izumi." Mitsuki said with a smirk.
"She's normally the reason I get into trouble." Katsuki muttered with a pout.
"I'll make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble, Auntie and Uncle." Izumi said, smiling, walking out the door with Katsuki following behind her.
Making their way to school was always the easiest part of their days. So with little to no trouble, mostly because they were messing around, they got to school just before the bell.
Izumi didn't get a chance to talk to Hari until lunch time. She found (read as hunted down) Hari to be sitting on the roof enjoying his lunch with a look of contemplation on his face.
"What are you thinking so hard about Hari?" Izumi questioned after making sure Hari knew she was there.
"Just thinking about my brother's response." Hari said nonchalantly.
"And his answer?" Izumi asked with hope.
"I could do as I pleased as long as when I got home I bathed away all the germs, a little more so than I already do." Hari said, sounding a bit confused.
"Is it odd of him to say something like that? You sound confused about that being his answer." Izumi responded.
"Not odd, just unexpected. Kai normally doesn't care what I do, I just thought that he would care about this because he doesn't do well with being by himself and considering he is homeschooled I am basically his only friend. If I make friends outside of him, the amount of time he spends without me and by himself will increase." Hari replies with a caring look as he thinks about his brother.
"You care a lot about your brother don't you, Hari?" Izumi says with a slight smile.
"Of course I do. I owe my happiness to him." Hari says, trying to hide his smile.
"Well if your brother ever decides that you are spending too much time with other friends, you could always ask to bring him along or find ways to hang out with him instead of your other friends. I know how important family is. So your brother being an important part of you needs to be accepted by your friends. Even if you decide that you don't want us to be friends, make sure that any friends you do make understand that your brother is always going to be a very important person to you." Izumi smiles at Hari to show how honest her words are.
"Thanks for that Midoriya." Hari replies with a shy smile. "I've thought about your question a lot and I've decided that you aren't going to be allowed a week to try and convince me to be your friend."
"Oh, okay. I'll just leave you by yourself then." Izumi says disappointedly and starts getting up to leave.
"You didn't let me finish, Midoriya." Hari says, looking at Izumi. "What I didn't get to say was I already consider you a friend. No one has ever understood that for me, Kai will always come first. You also offered to let him join us if he ever decided that he wanted to. That means a lot to me so, Izumi Midoriya, as long as your offer still stands, then I would greatly accept to be your friend." Hari stated, matter of factly.
"That's amazing Hari. I'm glad you will be friends with me! Please call me Izumi." Izumi happily stated, grinning ear to ear.
