Chris' POV
"Hey, you in the dress, could you help me?" I prodded as I landed next to her.
"Why would I even bother to do something like that with filth like you?" She asked in a snarky tone. Given her attitude, I guess she's a noble or someone with a higher social status. On another note, she sounded exactly like Aqua, which startled me more than I could admit.
"Ehm," I said, not sure how to respond, a little put off by her voice.
"What, have you been stunned speechless by my unparalleled beauty?," she said smugly. Wow, she even acted in a similar fashion to Aqua. Hopefully, I could get her to help me in some way, at the very least reveal some more about this world to me.
"I need some help finding my friend who went missing about a week ago," I relayed, but she kept walking, barely paying any attention to me.
"Prithee tell, what would I be given in exchange for giving you this divine help, that you so desperately need?" Bitch please, I'm the divine here, but telling her that won't exactly help me, but rather...
"Hmm, maybe my enchanted dagger, that is specially crafted to cut through demons with ease," I said as I pulled it out of its scabbard, letting her get a good look at it.
"That sorry dagger of yours is barely worth enough to earn you 3 minutes' worth of my time, much less my help," Her scornful voice was aggravating, but I knew she wanted it from that hungry look flashing through her eyes when she glanced at it.
"How about this then, are you willing to bet half a day of your help, while I bet this dagger of mine, in a round of rock, paper, scissors," My proposal, was returned by a triumphant grin that she tried to hide behind her fan, but from that alone, I knew she was pretty confident about winning.
"Oh my, if you wanted to just give me the dagger, you should've just said so without wasting my time, no need to hide your embarrassment of giving me a gift behind an unwinnable bet like that, boy," Oh, oh no, you didn't just say that I am so going to enjoy winning against you.
"So I take it you accept my bet, given your confident attitude?"
"Fine, I'll humor you, since the dagger caught my interest," She agreed as she presented her knitted fist.
"Ok then, Rock, paper, scissors!" I said as I presented my "paper" to her "rock".
Her face was completely priceless as she stared at the result in disbelief, even better than when I beat Kazuma. Always fun to beat the most confident ones at their own game, or rather show them a true master of luck.
"Impossible, that should be impossible! Again, let's go again, you had to have cheated somehow, I'll see to it that this doesn't happen again!" She yelled at me as she got ready for another throw-down.
"Double or nothing, yeah I am game," I smugly replied as I proceeded to upgrade my 1 day of help to search for Kazuma, to an entire year, as well as a pouch of money to keep shut about me winning against her all 17 times in a row. With the added bonus of being able to stay in her mansion for as long as we were searching for him.
Subaru's POV
My face was cold as I forced my eyes open. I was met with the sight of black and white tiles as I drifted my eyes upwards to see Beatrice standing by her bed, where Kazuma was resting. Wait, is she brushing her hand through his hair!?
"What are you doing to him?" I asked innocently, but it came out groggy and confused.
However, the moment I said those words, Beatrice raised her left hand towards me.
"OUT!" She yelled, and before I was even able to get on my feet, I was violently flung out of the room, then out a window, with the door shutting itself behind me. I thought I was about to die again when I realized I had just been thrown out of a 2nd story window. My life was, however, luckily saved by the bushes right under the window.
"Uhm, that looked painful, are you alright?" On second thought, I might have died and gone to heaven, since an angel was looking at me. Wow. I wonder what sort of good deeds I had done to deserve to be blessed by such a sight.
"Huh, of course, Millie, your kindness is the one thing that can heal me from nearly anything," I said as all my earlier pain was forgotten since I was face-to-face with my one true love, who had taken the time to ask how I was. I am truly the luckiest man in the world.
Kazuma's POV
"OUT!" Someone screamed in a shrill voice right next to my ear, waking me from my slumber. That's when I realized a tiny hand was in my hair, gently brushing through it. I finally woke up enough to come face to face with the owner of this hand, Beatrice. She turned back to look at me and froze when she realized I was awake, still with her hand stuck in my hair.
"So, this is awkward," I said rather matter of factly, causing her to retract her hand as she took a step away from me, her butterfly pupils still locked onto me.
"I suppose," she retorted, before breaking eye contact as she started to fiddle with one of her hair drills.
"How much did you see?" I asked while getting myself up in a sitting position on the bed. Still having a slight headache throbbing in the back of my head.
"I… I saw you lying in bed with this Crimson eyed girl, as she went on about your personality traits, how you react in different situations, she went on about how she... loves you despite your flaws, and-"
"I get it, I get it, you saw her whole confession," I cut her off, not wanting to hear anymore. I didn't want a sore throat in addition to the headache.
"You're angry, I suppose?" Beatrice stated more than she asked.
"No, I am not angry, you are not the first one to read my mind after all," I explained, causing her stare at me to intensify.
"Then, could I get to read more, I wonder?" She suddenly asked as she timidly twiddled her thumbs together, is she acting cute purposefully or not.
"Depends, do you have anything to offer me in return for seeing my memories?" I hoped she could potentially have something in here that could get me back home.
"This library that I keep guard over contains a lot of knowledge, and I have read all the books and memorized their content, so I am sure some of my information could prove valuable to you, I suppose," Beatrice sputtered out, her voice didn't falter, but I could sense some vague desperation in her tone, akin to Yunyun's normal ramblings.
"Hmm, do you have any way for me to travel to another dimension?" I prodded, causing her to take a step closer to me.
"Yes, I do in fact know the spell, but I currently lack the mana needed to perform it, I suppose," She quickly informed me.
"Interesting, so if I were able to gather enough mana? Then would you help me travel to another dimension?" If this was the case, I could finally see some hope of getting back to my own mansion.
"I could indeed get you to another dimension, but the mana required would take at least 300 fully charged mana stones, which I can make myself, but you will have to charge them with your own mana drain ability, I suppose," She explained.
"Ok, but I doubt anyone in this mansion would want to be drained of their mana, so where am I supposed to gather it?" I kept on, hopefully, I could get more information out of her without having to make any deals.
"You're correct, mana draining Emilia, the clown, or any of the staff is strictly off-limits, and you and your companion have no great mana reserves to take from, I suppose. But there is another way, and that is draining mana from the demon beasts roaming around in the forest, I suppose," She informed me, making sure I kept track of what was being said.
"Demon beasts you say, ok then, how many would I need to tap mana from to recharge 1 of these mana stones you can create?"
"Depending on your skill with acting as a mana link, one stone would need anything from 50-100 Wolgarm demon beasts to charge up fully, I suppose," She calculated for me, which would mean my progress in one day could be anything from 0.1-2 stones, which is not very ideal.
"How dangerous are these demon beasts?", I asked, since I needed to know. If they were weak I should be fine; dying to kobolds only happened because I got cocky, I promised myself to be more aware during battles after that.
"1 cursed bite could kill you unless I treat you, but multiple bites would mean certain death, as not even I can remove that many curses safely before they manage to kill you, I suppose,", Beatrice explained with a hint of worry in her eyes.
"Yeah, but how strong is one Wolgarm?"
"Not much stronger than a big dog, I suppose," She said, making an illusion of one right in front of me, it wasn't exactly pretty, but it did indeed look like a big dog I had seen back in Japan just that this one looked like an animal designed to kill.
"But that could mean certain death if one of them got the jump on me, seems a bit too risky and with not enough payoff," I relented.
"You could use the ward stones around the village to make all the demon beasts avoid you, then you would be certain of not getting attacked by them, but then again they would be harder to find unless you're very lucky, I suppose," She had just said something very interesting.
"So, if I have a ward stone on me, they won't attack me, and I can attack them as much as I want without ever provoking them?" I asked, because if that was the case, well then I was going to go on a demon beast murder spree.
"Rather crudely said, but yes, you would be, in fact," Beatrice confirmed.
Oh hell yeah, this might actually be fun to do! Oh wait, I am still hungry, gotta fix that problem first.
"Then should we make a contract, given you probably are the type for such things," I retorted.
"Define the contract and we will see, I suppose," She retorted, her face back to its former cold self.
"You get to see my memories of the life I lived, in exchange, you will use your spell that can transport me to another dimension on me- the mana to perform this spell will be provided by me, through mana stones that you create, in addition, all the memories you see must be kept confidential," I summarized, and the next second she presented me a document with those exact words imprinted on it.
"I, the great spirit Beatrice, accept the terms of this contract, presented to me by Kazuma Satou. Do you also confirm that you are fine with this contract as you have mentioned?" She said while a purple light started to glow from her right hand, which she stretched out for me to grab.
"Actually there is one more thing I would like to ask," I said as I suddenly remembered something very important.
"The pain from the procedure, I wonder?" she guessed.
"Yeah, is there a way for me to not feel like I am on the brink of death while you look at my memories?" I questioned, and she nodded.
"We both stole from each other last time, as you remember quite well, it hurts to be drained. In the future, I propose that we both give each other mana, since it has a soothing effect of empowerment," The girl said as she grabbed my arm. I was suddenly given a rush of mana, totally evaporating my now very faint headache.
"OH YEAH, I am completely fine with this!" I yelled, maybe a little too loud, but I didn't care. I had given mana, and I had taken mana through my many adventures. However, Wiz only ever demonstrated {Drain Touch} through taking my mana, so this feeling was completely new and wonderful to me. It felt empowering and calming at the same time.
"Very well then, I shall only access your memory, when we are giving each other mana, and under no other circumstances, I suppose," She said, with a faint smile adorning her face.
"Yeah, I Kazuma Satou, agree to the terms of this contract, with the spirit Beatrice," I declared and the contract changed its writing, and added my own signature in there, through burning it into the paper. Damn, do I really have that horrible handwriting?
"With that settled, would you like to start our first session now, I wonder?" She looked at me with hopeful eyes, which did a little to battle my hunger, but...
"Not right now, I still need to eat something, before I can go out and hunt, and you need to produce some mana stones so I can store my catch, then when I get back from the hunt you can see my memories, sound like a plan?" I responded, as I got up and went over to the door.
"That sounds… acceptable, I suppose," Beatrice said with a slight tone of disappointment, similar to when Megumin didn't get to throw her daily explosion when she wanted.
"Ok bet, see you later!" I shot out before I shut the door behind me.
Beatrice's POV
Bet? Was that supposed to be some kind of new nickname for me? If so, what makes him think that he can call me that, I wonder? It's not even a good nickname, I suppose.
Kazuma's POV
"What are you doing in the kitchen?" A cold voice asked me, it sent shivers up my spine. Though my enemy detection didn't go off, my instinct told me to get the fuck out of there. Away from whoever just said those words.
"F-f-food, I am just making some food," I definitely did not stutter out like a nervous little-
"Who gave you permission to do that?" She continued to question me, as I could hear her footsteps getting closer to me, before coming to a halt behind me.
I nervously tapped the kitchen table, with my eyes slowly drifting to a nearby kitchen knife. It was the closest weapon I could use to protect myself… Wait, why am I thinking like this? I just got here right, none of these people have done anything bad to me. Then why do I feel so unsafe right now?
"I asked-"
"I'm sorry ok, I just haven't eaten in a while, and your Lord didn't express any problem with me cooking in here yesterday, so I just thought it would be ok for me to cook here," I managed to say without freaking out immensely. Just don't mind my hand clutching onto the kitchen counter in an unsuccessful attempt to calm myself.
"I'll watch you, but don't get me wrong, you are going to clean up after yourself, I'm merely here to observe that you don't mess with anything in the kitchen," She said, not as cold this time. Slowly stepping away from me and sitting down on a chair.
"Ok, just let me get some ingredients first, and I'll get started," I stated more in an attempt to calm myself down than anything else, while I walked over to the pantry. I had no idea what to make yet, but I am sure I would figure that out when I saw what ingredients I had to work with.
Simple, something very simple for breakfast. Bread, yeah that is good. Oh cheese, means I can make some grilled cheese. Look at that they even have ham. Now if I only got some butter, oil, or fat to cook with, yes there we go.
If I remember correctly, these ovens here react to my magic. So even the tiniest spark from my {Tinder} should activate them. Yep there we go. Time to activate my {Cooking} skill, zone out, and just wait until it's done.
Felt's POV
I haven't had so much energy in ages, what was in that food?
"That's your 17th lap, Felt!" Old man Rom yelled from his cozy spot under that fancy sitting spot this place has.
"Actually it is my 45th, you took a nap old man!" I retorted as I marked the wall with my blade for the 45th time.
"That's good to hear, so what do you think about the rich boy?" He asked, causing me to stumble, forcing me to recover by going into a roll.
"Wow, I haven't seen you stumble in months, and that was only after you had not eaten in three days, does thinking about him make you dizzy. hahaha!" That old bastard is making fun of me, I'll get him back for that later.
"Why would thinking about him makes me dizzy" I repeated in a mocking fashion, doing my best to imitate his deep voice. It unfortunately only made him laugh harder.
"Hahaha, are you trying to kill me, because this sure would be a good way to go," That comment made me laugh.
"Hahaha, you dying without being at least half-drunk, now that is a good joke old man, and I haven't exactly seen you get your hands on any booze lately, so you're not dying any time soon," I stated, and that comment about no booze shut him up instantly.
"Yeah, I do miss me some alcohol, weird how I can't seem to sniff out any in this big fancy mansion though," He said, with great disappointment present in his tone.
"The only thing I can sniff out is..." I stopped as I actually started to smell something really good.
"What! cat got your tongue Felt, or-" I didn't hear any more from old man Rom, before I bolted towards the wonderful smell, that felt like I might have done my best time yet. I swear if he is cooking again, he won't decide if I can or can't gulp it all down.
I quickly got to an open window, where the smell was coming from. It was a simple enough jump, just needed some running speed and-
CRASH!
"WHAT THE HELL!" I had overshot my jump, making me cleanly go through the open window, but I didn't consider if someone was on the other side. So I accidentally crashed into Kazuma.
"Sor-AH!" I tried to apologize, but he threw me off him before I could even get a word in. So I had to go into a roll.
"You're lucky I wasn't carrying anything Felt, but since when does jumping through a window sound like a good idea to you?" He berated me, but I couldn't really pay him much attention when I saw the stacks of food on the counter behind him.
" While it might not have been a good idea, I think it had excellent results, you were getting too cocky about your cooking," Ram shot in, grabbing one of the sandwiches, and biting into it.
"Don't mind if I-"
"{Bind}" I was interrupted as a rope wrapped around me, before it completely restricted all of my movements, making me fall to the ground.
"I do mind, because this is my food for the trip in the forest I was thinking about taking," Kazuma explained, while flipping me over on my back with his foot.
"Why does she get one then!?" I questioned nodding towards Ram.
"Because she works here, and she lets me cook and use their ingredients, so regarding that, I think it is fair for her to take one," Kazuma retorted before he started packing down the sandwiches in boxes that he later put in his satchel.
"Then I'll come with you if it means I can get some of those sandwiches," I offered, already feeling hungry from the smell of the food, while cutting myself free from the rope with my dagger.
"Hmm, that depends on how good you are when it comes to hunting, what can you do that would benefit me?" Ok bargaining, I can do this, hunting in the wild is like pickpocketing in the city, right?
"I'm fast, I know when to act, and I am able to handle my dag-"
"You mean your machete," Kazuma interrupted me, so I went in for a kick to his back, and I knew I was in his blind zone so I don't know how he effortlessly dodged it, causing me to kick a dent into the kitchen island.
"That auto still works," He muttered to himself, while Ram stared daggers at me.
"Get out!" Ram angrily commanded, my survival instinct told me to find the nearest exit, which just so happened to be the window. Before I was able to jump out the window, I could feel a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm not going out of the window, and neither are you if you want to come with me," Kazuma said the words I wanted to hear, and my heart jumped a little bit.
"Ok, and get your hand off me," I retorted, trying to brush his hand away, which kept me distracted from his foot that he had placed in front of my own. So I had to do an involuntary front-flip.
"Wonderful, you can at the very least handle yourself," He said walking casually in front of me. I was thinking about punching him, but he spoke before I could decide.
"Don't even think about it, or I will steal your panties," It sounded like a genuine threat, even though it was a pretty ridiculous thing to say.
"I would like to see you try, I would cut your fingers off before you even could get anywhere close to me," I joked because I wouldn't cut off his fingers… probably.
"Come on, don't just stand there, it's better to hunt while the sun is still up," Kazuma said, as I started to follow after him.
Subaru's POV
"Why did you run away earlier?" Emilia suddenly asked me.
I froze in fear.
I can't exactly tell her that I died after she made me a promise. Can't even tell anyone about Return by death, tried with Kazuma and that… purple hand just comes out of nowhere and-
"Hey Subaru," oh right, Emilia just asked me a question. What am I supposed to say, when that purple hand can just come out of nowhere and crush my heart? How is one supposed to justify a fear that could very well be called 'primal'?
"I just… had a nightmare, so I just needed some time for myself, I'm all fine now though, so nothing to worry about Millie," I said, coming up with a flimsy excuse. It seemed to work, so it was fine.
"Where did Millie come from?" She asked, a little surprised.
"It's just a nickname that I made for you," This time I didn't start blushing, as much as the last loop at the very least.
"Waaah," Puck yawned as he appeared from behind Emilia. "It's like when I call you, ah, Lia," He continued, still waking up.
"Oh," Emilia uttered as she nodded understandingly, and then sent me a million-volt smile.
"That smile is the most priceless thing I have ever seen, I'll do my best to make you smile every day!" I couldn't contain those words as I let them loose, making her blush profusely.
"Stop it," she muttered while looking away from me.
"Your smile is amazing, but your innocent blushing face is sweet enough to give me heart attacks!", I said while trying to not blush further. Any more of this and I might die of a heat stroke.
"OH MY, did I hurt you!?" she suddenly exclaimed, very alarmed. Never mind, it seems like the innocent and kind girl would worry for me regardless.
"I'm fine Millie, my angel, you could never hurt me," I said hoping they knew what angels are in this world.
"Stop it," She said shyly while averting her gaze towards the ground at her feet.
"But I really mean it," I said with all the sincerity I could muster. That stunned her as she turned away from me. It wasn't like I was lying, after all. I really, really did mean it!
"What do you think this means Puck?" I asked, pointing to a now more awake floating cat.
"She isn't used to having friends or people giving her compliments, so while she craves it, she isn't good at handling affection and tenses up when she actually gets it," he explained. It seems like partnering with this cat would go a long way in helping me secure dates in the future with Millie.
Kazuma's POV
I walked into the library, with Felt right behind me. Beatrice looked like she was blowing bubbles, the bubbles would then fall down into a basket, giving off a tiny "plop" when it dropped into the basket.
"Oh, you are ready to go, I suppose," Beatrice said without looking over at me and Felt.
"Depends on if you are done with your part,"
"I am, the mana stones are in the basket, and… you're not alone, I suppose," Her tone shifted from a slightly cheerful undertone to her usual cold tone. How preoccupied was she with making those stones?
"Yeah she wanted to come with me, and I am not going to stop her from helping me," I retorted while walking over to the basket.
"Hey Beatrice, do I just hold one of these when I want to transfer mana to it?"
"Yes, but you can also hold onto the basket, and that will transfer the mana you take from the demon beasts into the stones, so there is no need to transfer mana to each individually, I suppose," She explained. Sounds like she tried to make the whole process a little easier, that was nice of her.
"What are you guys talking about?" Felt inquired, as I smacked her hand away from the satchel containing the sandwiches, again.
"I also managed to make a ward stone for you, but if you are bringing her with you should find another, I suppose," Beatrice said with her usual cold and detached tone as she handed me the green gem.
"Thanks, at least we know what to look for now when we have this," I praised while pocketing the gem.
Later in the nearby village
"Some rules while we are in the forest. First of all, we are not killing the Mabeasts unless absolutely necessary, we are just knocking them out, and we back off the instant something looks like too much, also if we get split up, just run back to the mansion," I put down the rules, Felt seemed to understand or she was just nodding along for fun.
"No killing, unless it is in self-defense, don't try to bite over more than I can chew if something splits us up, we meet back at the mansion," Felt recited while flipping the giant knife in her hand.
"I couldn't help but overhear you two are going into the forest, I must warn you, children, that it is quite dangerous," An old man said as he walked up to us.
"Who are you?" We both asked in unison.
"Oh, excuse my manners, my name is Muraosa," The old man introduced himself, as he tightened his grip on his staff.
"Ok then, now let's go and kill some Mabeast Felt,"
"Wait! You seem wildly unprepared for this, our village might offer something to help you slay the wretched Mabeast," He yelled, and it seemed like he genuinely wanted to help out, but again he could just want to sell us useless shit we don't really need.
"You have far too little water with you, we can-"
"{Create Water}" I cut him off as I filled up my water bottle.
"Well, you don't have much food with-" Felt cut him off as she opened the lid on the sandwich basket.
"Well, I see you don't have any arrows in your quiver, we sell that in the village,"
"Old man I think you have to… sell me some of those arrows," I instantly redirected my answer as I saw my quiver was in fact empty.
I don't understand why it is empty, didn't I fill these with arrows that I made, or was that just a dream. I feel like I can vividly remember Subaru getting the materials for me, but that can't be true because then my arrows would have been here.
"Right this way children," Muraosa gestured for us to follow, and so we did. We went past some children playing with each other.
"I count 6," Felt mindlessly muttered, before we went inside a shop.
"Welcome to my humble shop newcomers, what are you looking for?" A middle-aged man warmly welcomed us, he seemed to sell various tools for hunters.
"These newcomers would like to buy-"
"I would like some leather," I instantly cut off the old man.
"Well, I got some fine leather right here, you can get 2 of these for only 25 copper each," He said while pulling up some good quality leather.
"How about I pay 40 copper for those leather pieces plus some arrows," I counter-offered.
"Well, if I throw in some arrows, that would increase the price to 60 copper,"
"What about I pay you 50 for the leather and a dozen arrows then,"
"I can take that," He accepted as he handed me the leather while returning to look for a dozen arrows to fill my quiver.
"Hey Felt, you wouldn't happen to have any copper on you?" I whispered cautiously to her.
"I do, I got some from one of the maids," she answered in a normal voice.
"Could I borrow some of that, you know I'm good for it, I just don't have any Lugnica currency at the moment," I continued.
"Ooh, well what do I get out of this deal," She asked curiously, with a mischievous smile adorning her face.
"Half of the sandwiches and I pay you back later, plus I make you a meal when we get back, come on you know I'm good for it," I really didn't want to stand here and argue with her, but the faster I could get going, the faster I could get back home.
"Hmm, I don't know, I mean it sounds good, but I feel like I could get something more out of this," Ok that smug tone she got right now isn't something I want to deal with.
"I won't drench you in water and freeze it,"
"Ok, ok, I get it, I'll take the deal," Felt relented as she handed me her money pouch. It contained 20 silver coins and the rest was just copper. I counted up 50 copper coins and we left the establishment with my new stuff.
"Besht deal ehver," Felt said with 2 sandwiches stuffed into her mouth, while at the same time trying to fit a third in there, definitely something Megumin would do, if it was Komekko the food would have already been gone, a deal wouldn't have stopped her.
"Hey Muraosa, could we get to borrow another one of these?" I requested as I held up the green ward stone Beatrice had given me.
"Hmm, yes, but they are very valuable to us, so I would need some sort of insurance that you would come back with it,"
"Would these gold coins work as insurance?" I pulled out 5 million Eris as I asked him.
"What peculiar currency, I have never seen anything like it before, but I recognize gold when I see it, and this would be more than enough insurance for you to borrow another ward stone," He accepted after having inspected my Eris coin carefully, and handed me another green gem, this one had a bit dimmer light than the one Beatrice gave me.
"Here Felt you take the old one,"
"Why do I get the old one?" She complained after swallowing her third sandwich.
"Because I want the new one, and I am in charge here,"
"Who decided that?"
"Me, myself, and I," I answered quickly, handing her the dim one, which she reluctantly accepted with an annoyed sigh.
"Ok, so do we go and hunt Mabeasts now?" She was clearly getting impatient.
"Just give me a moment," I said before sitting down on the ground.
I pulled out the leather I had just bought and figured it would be enough to cover half of my arrows. Using my knife I cut the leather into pieces that I then fastened around the arrowheads, before using {Create earth} to fill them with sand. I then simply sew the leather shut, and voila arrows that would only knock out the Mabeasts.
"Ok cool, now let's go," Felt noted before dragging me towards the forest.
"Fine, but I am not babysitting you,"
"Oh please, I don't need your help, it's just boring to be here all alone,"
"Sure, just remember to keep them alive, you can maim them and knock them out, but no killing unless you feel unsafe,"
"Yeah, yeah, I know the rules, let us just get to it," She said as we walked past a perimeter of similar green gems and into the forest.
"Well, we first have to find some Mabeasts," I said as two of them jumped out from some bushes in front of us. They walked straight past us and directly to the bushes we just came out from. They started to sniff around, clearly trying to find prey but they completely ignored us. Good to know these things actually worked.
"{Drain Touch}" I chanted while grabbing ahold of the creature's neck, first it went stiff before it tried to scratch away my hand with it's back paw, but by the time its paw hit me it was already so severely weakened that it was no more than a tiny tap, and it quickly collapsed to the ground. I continued until I couldn't feel its pulse anymore.
The other Mabeast sensed the weakness of its comrade and quickly went over to chomp on it, I then also drained that one. Felt went over to them and lightly kicked both of them, but they gave off no reaction.
"I thought you said not to kill them, didn't you just do that?" Felt asked as I pulled out my adventurer card.
"Yeah, but I needed to test something, and plus I got to drain them of their mana so it still went as planned," I answered while checking the kill log on my card.
Wolgarm 500XP
Wolgarm 500XP
Goblin 90xp
Well, that is the most recent on my card, and it does indeed get me closer to leveling up. It would seem this hunt would have multiple things going in my favor.
"What kind of card is that?" Felt asked when she spotted me holding it.
"Eh, not anything you need to know, just forget you ever saw me holding this," I retorted instantly as I put my card away.
"Ok sour pants, but what are we going to do with these?" She said pointing to the dead bodies of the Wolgarm.
"Maybe we can use them as bait, I mean the second one went to eat the first one the moment I had weakened it, so cutting these two open might attract more of them here without us having to do much hunting," I suggested, which caused her to scowl at me.
"You want to attract a bunch of these creatures close to a mostly defenseless village, what if there is a hole in the perimeter here, and it is entirely possible to be a hole here since these gems can clearly wear out given that mine is dimmer than your freshly new one," Felt spoke with a lot more forethought than I had expected.
"You got some good points," At my words, a smug expression adorned her face.
"So good that you get to help me drag the one that has already been bitten into, deeper into the forest," and with that her smug look vanished.
I pulled out my normal bundle of rope and tied a knot around the neck of the wolgarm with the middle part of the rope, then I gave one end of the rope to Felt and took a hold of the other end.
"But what if we get lost in the forest, how are we supposed to find our way back?" Felt asked, again with all this good sense, it's almost enough to make me cry. Why couldn't I have someone like this in my party, instead of having to deal with the usual trio of crazy, dumb, and horny?
"Carve a noticeable mark into a tree every now and then, I'll be able to see them even if it gets dark," As soon as I said that, she chopped into the tree, leaving a giant X.
"That should work," She said confidently, and I just nodded in agreement.
We started to traverse deeper and deeper into the forest, after a few minutes of dragging we came upon a vacant hill. It was just normal grass on top of the hill, so it would give us a good overview of our bait.
"Do you like this spot, Kazuma?"
"Yeah, let us put the bait up there," I said, taking a look behind us. "Felt, I think this blood trail should make it easy to find our way back if needed," I pointed out as I saw that the opened part of the wolgarm's stomach that had been dragging across the ground had left a trail of dark blood behind us.
I then dodged away from Felt's smack as my {Auto-dodge} kicked in. "Idiot, that trail leaves right back to the village,"
"Ok, well then let us try to make this place even more attractive than the village," At that she hurriedly started pulling the dead wolgarm up the hill.
When we were at the top, I took out Chunchunmaru and started to cut the Mabeast open, as I spread out its organs and other innards. It smelled horrible to put it lightly, but Felt didn't seem to mind the smell all that much.
"{Create water}" I chanted as I sprayed down my katana until it was clean before I continued to just wash my hands.
"Whenever you use magic, you use words I have never heard before, but that one obviously was a water spell," Felt's remark got my gears turning.
That's right, all my spells and chants are in English, a language they have never heard. So it might leave me a chance for a surprise attack in the future.
"Rustle rustle rustle," The bushes from where we came started to rustle as multiple wolgarms started to emerge from them. I quickly pulled the rope off its neck and dragged Felt away from the bait.
"Let them start eating, and then I will start to drain the ones eating, you be on the lookout for if something other than a wolgarm shows up,"
"What do we do then?"
"We take cover in the bushes and observe what it does if it is just going to eat like the other Mabeasts I will drain them as well,"
"Munch, munch, CRUNCH," the sound of ravenous eating started.
"Look Felt, they eat just like you, hehe-ouch," Felt stopped my chuckling with a swift punch to the arm.
"I don't eat like that!" Felt angrily protested.
"Ah yes, I think you're right, they don't stuff their cheeks like you, they take it one bite at a- Ouch!" My excellent joke was cut short by another punch to my arm.
"Get to draining their mana you idiot," Felt ordered as she pushed the basket filled with mana stones onto me.
"Fine,"
Subaru's POV
"I seem to be missing two of my honored gueeests, does anyone know why they are nooot here with us this morning?" Roswaal requested as he looked at two vacant seats meant for Felt and Kazuma.
"Yes Master Roswaal, Lady Felt, and Kazuma went out to hunt Mabeasts in the forest," Ram relayed the information to Roswaal as soon as she possibly got the chance to.
"Oooh, how interesting, and how would you say they are doing?"
"One moment my Lord, let me see," Ram said before she put her hands to her head.
"They seem to be doing quite well, I count roughly thirty wolgarm laying dead at their feet, with even more coming out of the forest, they seem to be using ward stones to not grab their attention as Kazuma is merely touching them before they fall over dead, and the basket in his left hand shines up a little bit every time he touches a wolgarm,"
"Veryyy interesting, that is enough for now, be at ease Ram," What did she just say, Kazuma can just touch something/someone to kill, and why is Roswaal sitting there with such a satisfied smile.
There is so much that isn't like the last loop, Kazuma and Felt aren't here for breakfast, and it would seem that Beatrice and he have gotten, closer. Emilia also seemed worried about him.
"Now Subaru, whaaat reward would you like to be cooompensated with?" Roswaal interrupted my train of thought with his question.
"Ah yes, I would like to get to work here," As I said those words the entire room went silent like it had last time, only Ram's sneeze breaking the silence.
Hours later, after Subaru had been working hard.
I laid outside in the garden completely out of energy, it would seem that the twins noticed they could push me a little more than they did in the last loop. Maybe I should display more incompetence to repeat the last loop better.
"Hey Subaru, are you tired?" The wonderful words of my angel Millie quickly reinvigorated me.
"Of course not Millie, everything is superb, I have never been better," I cheerfully retorted.
"Oh, so you were just slacking off then?" Her question hurt me, but I guess I would have to explain my reason for lying here then.
"I was simply taking a tiny break to go over what I need to do next when I go back inside the mansion. Why are you out here?"
"I was about to train on my magic with Puck," She timidly answered my question, while being so cute and adorable.
"Subaru, would you also like to train on some magic?" Puck suddenly asked as he appeared from behind Emilia's beautiful hair.
"But I can't do any magic,"
"Sure you can, we just have to figure out what your magical element is first," Now Puck said something I am familiar with.
"Cool, so how do I get to know which element I am?" I asked as I jumped up from the ground in excitement.
"I can fix that, let's see here," Puck said as he put his tiny paw on my forehead.
"So what is my magical element? Is it the burning fire of passion, or am I more of a relaxed cool-guy water-type, or maybe a gentle wind blowing across the plain, or is it solid, reliable rock?" I went on until Puck removed his hand from my head.
"Your element is Shadow or Yin if you want," It felt like Puck's words punched me in the gut, as I fell to the ground in despair.
"What the hell is "shadow" supposed to be, I thought there were only 4 elements," I yelled at Puck while he just floated there with a wide grin on his face.
"In addition to the four base elements, there is also Shadow/Yin and Light/Yang," Puck quickly explained after dropping that stupid grin, even though it was cute.
"What are you guys talking about?" Kazuma suddenly asked as he walked over to us, while he carried a sleeping Felt on his back.
"Has something happened to Felt?" Emilia asked with a worried tone.
"Nothing serious, she is just in a food coma after eating up all of OUR rations," Kazuma was clearly annoyed with her.
"So how did the hunt go? At breakfast Ram told us you were having no problems," I asked, now noticing the glowing basket strapped to Felt's back.
"It went above all expectations actually, I actually lost count," Kazuma energetically answered.
Something here doesn't add up, how does he look so full of energy when he has been out all day without eating much of anything. Maybe it has something to do with that glowing basket on Felt's back.
"Ok, anyway Puck was just explaining to me how magic works in this world, and he just told me that I have an affinity for the shadow element," I told him as he just tilted his head to the side in confusion.
"Sure, but what can you even do with shadow magic?" He gave a very good and reasonable answer, which I was about to ask myself.
"Yeah, what can I do with Shadow magic,"
"Let's see, with shadow magic you can obstruct an opponent's vision, block sound, slow them down, and other such things," I deflated even more as I realized that my magic consisted of only DEBUFFS!
"An easy one to learn would be something like {Shamak}"
"That's a blinding spell, right?" Emilia asked a little unsure, with Puck nodding proudly at her question.
"Want me to show you?" Puck said as he looked at me, and the thought of doing some actual magic got me excited.
"Hell yeah, bring it on!" I erupted, with Emilia hesitating a bit.
"{Shamak}" Was the last thing I heard before everything went black. I couldn't see, hear or smell. The only things I felt were the ground I stood on and my body, but soon it felt like I couldn't even breathe, and then it ended as abruptly as it began.
"So that was Shamak, what did you think?" I could hear Puck talking again, as I looked down, and I was one step away from going into the water. I took a second to collect my thoughts.
"Are you okay?" The woman of my dreams asked in such a worried tone, that I had to make her feel at ease.
"O-of course," I answered with as much confidence as I could muster while flipping around to face the others again.
Then I saw Kazuma fiddling with what looked like a brown card, as a mischievous grin emerged on his face. He was up to something, and if my instinct was right it was going to affect me.
"Emilia, could you hold Felt for me, while I stretch a little bit?" Kazuma asked with an innocent tone.
"Are you sure that would be ok?" The shining embodiment of elegance and beauty questioned as she walked over to Kazuma and Felt.
"Of course, just hold your arms out,"
"Like this?" She asked, putting her arms forth, with Kazuma immediately dropping Felt off into them.
"Ok Subaru, I just learned a new skill, and you are the perfect guinea pig, {Sha-}"
"{Shamak}" Puck interrupted him, as he started to stumble around like a headless chicken, it was hilarious.
"Puck, I owe you one for saving me,"
"Oh, it was nothing, his intentions were clear as day, so I did the old switcheroo on him," Puck said while grinning widely and gesturing with his tiny paws.
"KYAAAH!" Emilia suddenly screamed as Kazuma crashed into her and Felt, tangling Kazuma up with the girls, that lucky bastard.
"Ok, that's enough," Puck angrily said before removing the spell from Kazuma, and I quickly understood why his tone had shifted, he was groping my angel's boobs with his left hand. I ran over to them before Kazuma could do any more damage and ripped him away from the girls.
"What's going on?" An annoyed and sleepy Felt complained while crawling away from my clearly shocked and violated angel.
"Payback!" Kazuma declared as he pushed me off him, "{Concealment}" Kazuma chanted before he completely vanished, and then Puck started waving one paw in front of his eyes before laughing.
"Hahaha, he actually learned it that quickly," Puck continued to laugh as he wiped his eyes, before looking around for Kazuma.
"Hmm, good trick, but I know how to counter these petty tricks," Puck said as he raised his paws above his head and blasted a beam into the air, making it snow lightly. After just a minute I could spot that the snow landed on something mid-air, and wherever it tried to run off to, it would leave footprints behind itself.
Puck shot off multiple icicles closing around what I presumed to be Kazuma, as he made a prison of ice around him, even covering the top with a thick layer of ice so he couldn't escape that way. The little cat then floated down to his little make-shift prison and melted a little hole in one of the sides.
"{Create water}" Kazuma chanted from the inside as Puck dodged to the side before the jet of water froze to ice.
"Subaru, your friend here is pretty creative, he just transformed his own ice cell to his own little soundproof bunker," Puck seemed impressed, as he looked at the protruding ice pillar Kazuma just created.
After a few minutes had gone by, with everyone just looking at the ice prison, a little ice melted away to reveal some of Kazuma's green mantle.
"Puck how about we do a bet," Kazuma's voice came through sounding a little muffled.
"Sure, what do you have in mind,"
"I will try to get inside the mansion, your mission is to put your paws on me before I manage that, does that sound fair?"
"Sounds fair enough to me, let's begin," Puck excitedly said as he ripped away the ice bunker with a wave of his paw, revealing my phone laying there, as it played off its last line.
"How about if you win you'll get some grilled fish," as the recording came to an end. I could also see burn marks on the ground, on the opposite side of where I and Puck had been focused on. With footprints leading back to the mansion.
"Hey, guys!" Kazuma's smug voice came from one of the now opened windows inside of the mansion, with him grinning from ear to ear as he waved at us.
"How the fuck did you get your hands on my phone!?" I yelled at him, with Puck looking rather impressed.
"I don't like losing, but I didn't expect him to have this kind of tool on him," Puck said as he picked up my phone and gave it back to me.
"I want to learn how to do that," Felt suddenly said as she started to run inside, with multiple baskets strapped to her back.
"I didn't expect him to beat you Puck," The wonderful voice of Millie elegantly hit my ears, and just like that all my interests went back to her.
"Neither did I, I didn't even sense him using any magic while inside the ice block, it's like he doesn't have an elemental affinity," Puck relayed while scratching the back of his head.
"But he clearly does have multiple affinities, how else would he have been able to use so many different types of magic," My wonderful little angel argued back.
"I don't know, it's like his magic is out of this world," Puck answered.
"Could I get to try it now?" I shot in, interrupting their discussion about Kazuma, as they redirected their attention back to me.
"Sure," Puck said, floating to the top of my head before he sat down. "Ok Lia, you get some distance from us in case things go wrong," which caused my lovely Millie to wander off to the other side of the field so that I could barely see her.
"How bad do you think this is going to go!?" I yelled at Puck, but he just smacked my head lightly with his paw to get me to shut up.
"It's just a precaution, do you want to do magic or not?"
"I want to do magic, please teach me sensei,"
"Ok then, first close your eyes, then you need to imagine a gate for your mana to flow through," That sounded easy enough, ok a hole for all of my mana to flow through
"UH OH, this isn't good,"
Kazuma's POV
I was just looking at the window with Subaru standing there with Puck on his head, by using {Far sight}, {Lip Reading} and {Eavesdrop} I had listened in on the entire conversation. Before a mini-explosion of black smoke just erupted from Subaru that covered the entire area, making me unable to see what was going on.
"So that is why Puck said "UH OH," Subaru's magic just went haywire," I noted to myself as someone came running down the hall.
"Kazuma, could you show me how to steal as effortlessly as you stole that metia from Subaru?" Felt excitedly requested, while dragging all of our gear on her back.
"Nah, I don't think I could really teach you that skill, I just do it, and it works,"
"Come on, we've been hunting together the whole day, and I have been dragging all our stuff along, I should be trustworthy enough, just show me, I promise not to tell anyone else about it,"
"Felt, you fell asleep after eating all the food I prepared, so I had to carry both you and all the equipment back to the mansion, bringing up something like that won't convince anyone," I rebutted, causing her face to turn a faint shade of red.
"That's not fair of you to say, it was super boring watching you kill those Mabeasts by just touching them for a few seconds, anyone would fall asleep not just me, so please teach me how to steal as you just did," She pleaded as she got closer to me.
"If I showed you, you are going to get pissed, and you're still not going to be able to perform the trick, which would lead to even more frustration,"
"No, I am patient enough to learn it, if you would just teach me," Ok, her nagging is starting to get on my nerves.
"Ok, I'll perform the trick on you, but you'll first have to hand over all of my equipment that you're carrying," As soon as I had said that, she dropped off all of my equipment at my feet. She REALLY wants to know how I perform {Steal}.
"Now show me!" She basically demanded as her crimson eyes went wide with anticipation. Why does she have to remind me so much of Megumin?
"Very well, but no complaints about what I steal, because it is completely random, and you have to steal it back without anyone noticing," I set down the rules as she nodded furiously in agreement.
I then proceeded to open up a door that unsurprisingly enough led into Beatrice's library. I got an annoyed look from Beatrice as I dumped all my stuff in there, with Felt waiting expectantly outside.
"Ok, now pay close attention," I said, raising my hand in the air, before I performed {Steal} on her and quickly shut the door behind me.
"Quick Beatrice, change the room so she can't follow," As soon as I had said that, it felt like my legs went wobbly as the room started to spin before the environment finally stabilized. I could then inspect what I had stolen from Felt, it was unsurprisingly a pair of panties, surprisingly they were black.
I quickly pocketed the panties as I walked over to the glowing basket filled with charged mana stones, before walking over to the bed Beatrice was pointing at.
"You have made a lot of progress, I suppose," she remarked as she sat down next to me on the bed.
"Surprisingly so at that, I thought it would be harder to find Mabeasts, but it was like they were already swarming the area, so it made it easy to lure in a ton of them, so I think we charged up all of the stones you gave us," I responded, letting a little of my joy slip through.
"Hmm, 50 stones in just one day is above every expectation we had, I suppose," Beatrice noted with a hint of disappointment in her tone.
"Well, should we get started with the memory reading then?" I asked, which got her to jump off the bed.
"Indeed, you must first lay down on the bed and get comfortable, I suppose," Following her instructions, I laid down with the basket in my left hand.
"Now you must transfer mana from the basket to yourself, and again exert mana with your right hand," Again I did as she told me and created a little flame in my right hand, which she quickly smacked away, instantly putting out the fire.
"Are you stupid, I wonder?" Beatrice yelled at me "Why would you use fire magic in a library filled with multiple old and precious books, I wonder," She continued to reprimand.
"Ok, my bad, but it was to test if I managed to keep the mana flow constant, which I did for your information," At that her anger eased down a bit.
"Very well, then we should be ready to perform the memory reading, I suppose," She confirmed as she climbed on top of me, and seated herself on my stomach.
"Now place your right hand on my left cheek then proceed to transfer mana to me. After that I will follow up by transferring a lesser amount of mana to you, this is to keep the memory link open and stable, I suppose," Beatrice calmly explained as I continued to follow her instructions, as she put her tiny right hand on my cheek I proceeded to transfer mana to her.
After just a minute Beatrice's eyes went blank and unfocused, or rather she was focused on something that I couldn't see. Then after some time, she started to switch between chuckling and gasping in surprise, before she returned back to chuckling. There were occasions when she would bite at her lower lip in suspense, but the chuckling returned shortly after.
It had maybe passed about 7 minutes when she started to bite at her lip for an extended amount of time before she suddenly jumped off me and fell down onto the floor. Beatrice had gotten her dress over her head, as she fumbled to get control over her environment again.
"Kazuma! Kazuma! KAZUMA!" Her voice sounded panicked, forcing me to jump off the bed and lift her back onto the bed. She calmed down slightly as she saw my face before she grabbed ahold of my collar and inspected my neck.
"There is no scar on your neck, but how is it possible when the winter shogun chopped your head off, I felt it, how were you completely fine afterward, I wonder!?" Beatrice continued to demand as she ran her fingers over my neck, inspecting it closely.
I grabbed ahold of her hands and made eye contact to make sure she was listening, "I'll show you later tonight, there is still some energy left in these mana stones after all, but first I got to eat," I retorted, before dashing out the door.
I started to walk down the corridor before I put my hands into my pockets. My hand touched something soft, and I mindlessly pulled it out of my pocket, revealing Felt's black panties.
Why did it have to be black panties, why couldn't it have been- SWOOSH. My thoughts were interrupted as my {Auto-dodge} kicked in, which saved my head from meeting Felt's boot. However, I could feel the panties being ripped out of my hand before she continued to run down the hallway.
"Eh, got nothing better to do right now, {Steal}," I mumbled while stretching out my hand, as a blue flash emitted from my right hand when clenching my fist. Unsurprisingly the panties returned to my hand. Felt went down into a roll as she turned around to look at me in surprise.
"HOW?!" Felt yelled at me after she double-checked and confirmed that her hands were in fact empty.
"Looking for these," I teased, before unfurling the pair of panties I had restolen, like a matador holding up and waving his red carpet around to gain the attention of the bull. It might just have been my imagination, but her crimson-red eyes seemingly flared up, before she rushed at me.
"Dodge this!" Felt shouted at me, as she threw her fucking unsheathed dagger at me, luckily {Auto-dodge} kicked in and saved me from getting skewered, but Felt quickly followed up the attack by kicking hard into my knees making me fall on my butt. I could then feel a blade pressed onto my throat as Felt got on top of me and pinned me down.
When I opened my eyes, I could see that it was my katana that she was using. My left hand was pinned down by her right, and my right hand was free, but filled with her black panties. And even if I could do anything with it she could spend no time slitting my throat.
"I win, so give me back my panties," Felt's voice was commanding and angry.
"Ok, they are right here, just take them," I said, opening my clenched fist to surrender the panties back to her, but she didn't move a muscle.
"If I go for them, I'll leave myself open to one of your tricks, and you'll just gain the upper hand again, so throw them to the side and I'll let you go," Felt ordered, and I followed the command as she pressed the blade harder onto my throat.
"Ok, you win, please remove the blade from my throat, and get off me now," I asked very nicely, but she just got a malicious grin on her face as she leaned in closer to me.
"Promise me you will teach me how to do that stealing trick, and without using it on me, and then I will let you go," She put forth her demands, and proceeded to press the blade harder against my throat, wait a second, wouldn't it have cut into me by now? I am pretty sure I sharpened it this morning, she must be using the dull side.
I took a gamble and shot my right hand towards her and grabbed ahold of her left hand pressing the blade to my throat, and I activated {Drain touch}. Felt fell limp after just a few seconds, but I stopped draining her before she lost consciousness. With that, I was now on top of her controlling the situation.
"So this is what you did to those Mabeasts in the forest," She concluded, as she started to get grumpy over having lost the advantage.
"Correct, but do you want to know how you lost the advantage here?" I teased, as she tried to struggle free, but with so much of her stamina gone, I easily held her down.
"No I get it, I shouldn't have held back, and actually cut you a little bit," Felt retorted with frustration.
"Sure that would have made me more obedient, but pressing a newly sharpened blade into someone's throat should have yielded blood with how hard you were pressing it at the end, but it doesn't do that if you use the dull side," I happily explained as she got grumpier.
"Not like I wanted to cut you," She suddenly mumbled, while breaking eye contact and looking towards the pair of discarded underwear. Doing that is just unfair, but I am a fair man.
"I will now offer you a deal, I can give you back your energy if you stop asking me to teach you-"
"Never going to happen!" Felt yelled back at me in an instant.
"Well then-"
"What are you two doing?" Ram's voice interrupted me, as I froze instantly with fear.
"W-we are j-just, w-wrestling, right Felt?" I stuttered out as I sent Felt a pleading look.
In return, she just mouthed, "Teach me, and I'll play along," I didn't have a leg to stand on so I just nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, we were just wrestling, now let me get up Kazuma you already won," I did as she asked, helping her up as I transferred mana back to her.
"Miss Felt, are those the same ones I prepared for you this morning?" Ram asked, directing our attention down to the black panties lying next to the wall.
"Yes, could you handle them for me?"
"Of course MiLady, I will handle them at once, and please refrain from "wrestling" in the hallway, in the future leave those activities for the bedroom," Ram said with a warm tone, as she shot me a cold and judging stare. She then left me and Felt alone.
"Before you ask, can I try to teach you after we have eaten dinner?" I quickly shot in before she could ask me what Ram had meant by her last statement.
"Fine by me, just don't delay it any further than that,"
Felt's POV after dinner
"Why did you two ask me to come outside?" Subaru asked hesitantly.
"Someone needs to hold the target," Kazuma retorted as he gave Subaru one of his gold coins.
"Hey, I don't want to be target practice," He protested, as Kazuma turned on his heel to face him.
"Relax dude, we are just going to take the gold coin from you, and you will remain completely unharmed, if you do get hurt by one of us, I'll even pay you," And with that Subaru pocketed the gold coin and stood still, as Kazuma walked back over to me.
"I don't know how I am supposed to teach you this, but I guess we can start with some observation, so pay close attention," Kazuma instructed as he stretched out his right hand and aimed it at Subaru with an open palm.
"{Steal}!" He chanted as she clenched his fist and a blue light erupted from his hand. When the light faded away he opened up his closed fist to reveal the gold coin he had given to Subaru.
"What the heck are you chanting when you do that?" I queried, never having heard the word before. It might even be the key to mastering this skill.
"That isn't impressive, even I can do something like that," Subaru butted in with his claim.
"Ok then, steal this coin from me without even touching me, or getting anywhere close to me," Kazuma challenged as he pocketed the gold coin, and folded his arms together. That seemed to make Subaru's resolve falter.
"I can't do something exactly like that, but if you give me the coin and can showcase the trick,"
"Ok, but this counts as you admitting your loss to me,"
"Yeah, yeah, just give me the coin," Subaru hurriedly agreed as he got close to us, and got handed the coin.
"Felt are you ready to keep track of where the coin is?" He inquired like I was a little child, as he displayed the gold coin in his palm. I played along and nodded, as I noticed Kazuma walking a bit away from us.
Subaru started to close his hands into fists, while Kazuma disappeared into thin air again, before reappearing. In the meantime, Subaru started to flail his hands around before he presented with two fists.
"So where is the coin?" He asked again in the same demeaning tone, if I was correct even he would be surprised.
"It's in the right hand-"
"ERR, that is wrong it's behind your-"
"OF KAZUMA!" I interrupted the interrupting asshole as I pointed to Kazuma behind him.
"No it's-" Subaru stopped talking as he witnessed Kazuma playing with the gold coin in his right hand, as he found his own hands empty. Damn, I want to learn how to do that so badly.
"You're wasting our time, just go over there and do your one job of being our testing dummy," Kazuma said as he tossed the coin back to Subaru.
"Ok," A dejected Subaru accepted as he walked over to his designated spot.
"Let's just begin from the start," I suggested, with Kazuma agreeing with a simple nod.
To be continued...
Ok, I haven't been posting for a while, which I am sorry about, but at the same time this has been a hectic time in my life, so this kept getting pushed back time and time again.
Hopefully, the next chapter comes a little faster. No promises though, I am wildly inconsistent.
