The right person will make you fall in love with yourself too

Yahiko felt his heart drop as Konan recounted Obito's plan to Nagato and him.

"There has to be another way", Nagato pleaded to Konan. Yahiko turned his head in disgust. He knew there wasn't. Even if the Akatsuki decided to fight they had equal power to Hanzo, with the Mist aiding them it would be a bloodbath and they would be on the losing side.

"This is still Itachi's choice", said Konan. "Obito says that he's under him, but I don't think that's the case, he has his own mind"

Kisame came in and gave a letter addressed to Konan. It was from Orochimaru which was odd because Itachi sent a letter a day earlier saying that things got "hostile" and they left as soon as they could. Maybe it's about the incident as Itachi was very hostile. As she opened the letter, a snake slithered its way out of the envelope.

"Greetinggsssss", the snake hissed. "I'm here at the request of Lord Orochimaru.

"What does he want", questioned Yahiko.

"Sazume will be here as Soraya's wedding attendant"

"Daeshim's granddaughter?", Nagato asked.

"And from some your accounts your new loyal servant", Yahiko added with disdain to the snake.

"And Soraya's friend", Konan explained trying to calm the situation. "Soraya doesn't even know that she is getting married yet and Itachi hasn't accepted yet, how does Orochimaru know"

"I can guarantee that she is aware of their impending marriage and Orochimaru being so benevolent is also sending 30 of his strongest shinobi. All he asks is that you sign a peace treaty with Otogakure. We hear that you are on the threshold of outright control of Amegakure. We want to help"

"We will send you an answer in three days, send over your terms, and we will send ours"

"It's already here", the Snake coughed up a scroll that was the terms of their agreement. Yahiko briefly read it.

"You want Itachi to swear never to attack any citizen from Otogakure, that's oddly specific", Nagato contended. "We can't control any of our member's actions, especially in self-defense." Nagato knew exactly what conspired at Orochimaru's compound. It surprised the three of them that Itachi made it out alive from an attack from Orochimaru.

"Orochimaru assures you that none of the Akatsuki will be attacked but", the snake hissed to emphasize his next point. "We will aid you, especially protecting our precious assets, including the friendship with your daughter"

"What is your interest with her?", Nagato asked darkly. Konan and Yahiko cut their eyes at him, noting the protective anger in his voice.

"Calm yourself, you don't want to lose control", whispered Yahiko. "Well maybe tonight with just me and you", he whispered seductively. Nagato closed his eyes in irritation but nodded.

"He said something about a diplomatic friendship that could serve both of our fledgling nations, I believe our time is up, Orochimaru only offered so much blood for me to be here", the snake vanished.

"SHE'S BACK", Masaru busted through the door. "Her and Itachi are back, THEY BOTH GOT TALLER, She looks so much healthier, omg she said that she brought us souvenirs, she also said..." Masaru rambled on before Yahiko stopped him.

"Breath we don't want an asthma attack, let's go greet them", Yahiko smiled at his adopted son. Masaru took in a deep breath in nodded. "

Shortly after they reached Soraya, to their amusement the entire Akatsuki was there to greet her, and she was frazzled at the attention. It was then she noticed her mother and bowed nervously. Her bow seemed to catch the attention of the Akatsuki who made way for Konan, Yahiko, Nagato, and Masaru.

"I'm sorry, I meant to greet you properly, but-"

"No worries, we are just glad you are home and healthy, Masaru is right you have gotten a little taller and you are blossoming into a woman". Konan hugged her and started to dust her clothes. "Why are you wearing a hanbok, and your semi-formal one at that", Konan questioned.

"Like I said I wanted to greet you properly, and my casual one was quite dirty from our journey", Soraya elaborated. Konan and Nagato could hear in her voice there was something more.

"We were attacked, it's all in the report", Itachi said. "If we are able to greet you in private we could explain things" Konan nodded.

"Well you just arrived in time the festival is a few days away", she smiled brightly. "You must greet everyone they have waited impatiently for arrival and then come see us afterwards", she kissed Soraya's forehead before retreating and taking her bags. Soraya was then ambushed again by various Akatuski members hugging and cheering her on. Itachi was in the background. He noticed how at first she seemed uncomfortable but then her defenses came down and enjoyed the moment of being home. Her eyes shifted around the room until she spotted him in the corner. She gave him a smile and waved, and he did the same.

Meanwhile, Konan checked Soraya's belongings in her room. Soraya left with light luggage but it didn't make sense that her only pieces of clothing were three Hanboks, her shinobi clothing was missing including her cloak.

"You know teenagers don't like snooping in their things", said Nagato. Konan gasped and grasped her heart.

"You scared me", said Konan.

"Better than Sora-chan coming to find you", he responded.

"Something happened, I can feel it", said Konan. "Soraya", she paused as she was trying to find the right words. "She's really good at hiding her feelings, especially behind that smile, but she won't open up to me, but I still have to protect her", Konan bemoaned.

Nagato nodded. "Shh, don't stress, she will sense it and put more of a facade, if you are concerned directly ask her, she is a very bad liar" Konan chuckled at his response.

"She's closer to you", she corrected. "How can she have so little clothes and things, with all the money she spent", she further accused. She took the pouch that held her money to see how little there was left. "She should have come back with way more"

"There can be a simple explanation", Konan took a deep breath out trying to calm her nerves.

"Fine, talk to her before the festival, I have a feeling Hanzo will try something as Soraya is back alive and well." Nagato nodded in understanding.

Later that night Soraya and Itachi stood in front of Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko. Itachi recounted the events from Konoha, Orochimaru's compound and the rest of their journey.

"Your report seems short for your battle with The Janjira", observed Yahiko.

"I lost consciousness-

"He lost some of his memory after the battle and I filled the report for him", Soraya interrupted.

"Well, it is thorough but still short, is there anything you like to add", Konan asked.

"I didn't realize there was a length requirement", Soraya replied.

"There isn't but-", Konan wanted to point out the meticulous details that there stay within Konoha and Orochimaru's fledgling country, but Soraya interrupted her.

"Hanzo chose my fiance well", Soraya chuckled darkly in a way that showed her frustration in the manner. Soraya read the room very quickly as everyone seemed to be on edge on her statement. She couldn't help it with the dark joke. The irony was there, with the betrothal Hanzo was using Itachi to harm her in some twisted logic. What Soraya couldn't figure out was why? He could have easily set her up with any noble. There was something that didn't quite add up. The missing piece was there, but she couldn't figure it out since Itachi broke the news to her.

Nagato cleared his throat. "Yes, well there is a matter that I would like to talk to Itachi about, so you can go and prepare for dinner."

"Actually, I would like to stay", interjected Soraya. "I am to be his wife, so I would like to know what he is up to" Soraya's parents were taken aback at the statement. Beforehand, she would never defy any order given. Itachi wanting to avoid any further awkwardness breached the subject.

"I agree however, you are still recovering from surgery and our ordeal with the Janjira, when we are married, I promise I will not withhold you from any meeting and to be fully honest with you", said Itachi. He grabbed her hand gently before gazing into her eyes in search of understanding. Soraya's breath hitched in her throat, as he referenced their argument. She nodded letting him know that she agreed to his terms. "This will be the last mission, that will be held in secret from you", he assured her. She nodded again as her heart filled with appreciation from his statement. She left the room on her own accord.

With her acute motherly eyes, Konan studied the exchange between the two teenagers. For just a moment Soraya tensed at his touch but then relaxed after she looked into his eyes. Her intuition knew it was something more than a lover's quarrel.

"What is that you want", Itachi asked.

"Obito has suggested that we may need your help in The Mist", Yahiko explained

"You best stay clear of him, or everything we worked for his for not", Itachi cautioned.

"So you are wary of him to", Nagato questioned. "But in this case, we do not have a choice, Hanzo is planning to make his move at your wedding, and even with your power we are no match if The Mist decides to take up arms with him, which is very likely"

Itachi nodded in agreement. "If we subdue the bijuu and aid Mei in her rebels, The Mist will have no choice but to stay out of Amekagure matters."

"Yes, but are you willing to do that", Konan asked Itachi directly.

"It will keep Soraya out of more danger, I have no choice", answered Itachi. Itachi noticed the solemn look that Konan gave him at the mention of Soraya's name. "We are family now, and I refuse to see anyone else hurt close to me", he whispered.

"Does she know", Konan asked. Itachi shook his head. His failing heart quickened at the thought of telling her his greatest sin.

"I will tell her in time", Itachi bowed in respect before he left.

For the next few days, Konan observed Soraya. She still had a calm, happy disposition but looking closer, there was a hint of melancholy when she thought no one was looking. Her training had greatly improved, especially with her new weapon. She seemed to want to master it as quickly as possible. Soraya kept her training very diverse sparring with different Akatsuki of varying fighting methods and specialties. Konan could see the skills that she taught her and how she made them her own. Soraya was becoming more independent and thriving. Within a few days, she seemed like an experience chunin, awaiting her Jounin trials. Soraya was no longer the scared orphan that Orochimaru and Itachi found.. Nevertheless, Konan knew that something was amiss.

Konan went to Soraya's room not knowing exactly what made her come there. She walked in and sat on her bed and looked around the room. Soraya still had not fully unpacked yet. It was then she noticed a small portrait on her suitcase. The portrait was of her and a blonde-haired boy. On the back, it said, "Get Well Soon, Naruto." Konan smiled at the small gift happy that Soraya made a friend in Konoha. She was worried that she would be lonely.

It was then she noticed her coin purse and was reminded of the lack of funds that should have been in there. Soraya did not buy any new clothes and didn't bring back too many souvenirs. Looking deeper, Konan noticed that Soraya's favorite shinobi outfit was not here or anywhere in the room. She recalled that she was in a casual hanbok on her arrival. Konan looked for it and grabbed the outfit. She felt the pockets and noticed that there seemed to be something in the left pocket.

"What are doing", asked Soraya. Konan quickly looked behind her and noticed Soraya.

"Helping you unpack", said Konan breathlessly.

"Are you okay", Soraya asked taking the clothing out of Konan's hand. "You shouldn't be doing much with how far along you are", Soraya said sternly.

"You seemed to make a friend", Konan said holding the small black and white portrait. "Is he the reason you seem down a bit?" Soraya half-smiled at the question.

"One of the many reasons", Soraya answered truthfully. "I didn't expect to love Konoha so much, but hate it at the same time", she added. "It's so beautiful, the community there is amazing, they have such an eye for progress, they also respect tradition and family, but for the many things that make it beautiful, is the very reason I hated it sometimes. The classism is clearly there, Naruto was an orphan all alone, and everyone seemed to hate him, except for a few people, and I'm pretty sure it was out of pity"

"Seem's like you got some life lessons out of your journey", Konan said as she sat on Soraya's bed. Soraya nodded hoping that would ease the questions coming from Konan.

"What about you and Itachi", Soraya nodded knowing this question was coming. She was quiet not knowing where to start and being cautious of what she said. Not wanting to give details that she knew would stress Konan. Additionally, she didn't know how Konan would react. "You spent a lot of time together", she pried.

"We didn't have sex is that what you are asking", Soroya answered with a little hint of anger and anxiety.

"I wasn't suggesting that", Konan retorted. She sighed and took a deep breath to ensure her hormones weren't getting the best of her. "You know that you don't have to marry Itachi, I will do anything in my power to stop it, all you have to do is say the word"

Soraya looked at her mother skeptically. "And why would I want to do that"

"Excuse me", Konan asked. She wasn't expecting that response at all.

"I want to be with Itachi", she said simply shrugging her shoulders.

"Soraya you don't, trust me", she countered. Konan and her locked eyes both of them knowing the other was withholding information and just waiting for the other to finally admit something.

"We kissed, twice", Soraya confessed. She closed her eyes waiting for any harsh reaction. Konan was surprised at the confession and her heart raced.

"Did you like it", she asked.

"I did very much", Soraya admitted. "You are not angry", she asked in disbelief.

"Shocked but not angry", Konan hesitated before she spoke again. "I mean I will do everything in my power to protect you, even from Itachi, you do not have to marry him, just because of a few kisses, you have many years to choose and experiment with someone else" Konan was doing everything in her power to avoid the two from marrying and Soraya could sense it. "Hanzo can not harm you for rejecting a betrothal"

"This is more than you and Hanzo's games against each other", Soraya fumed. "I swear this feud between you and your first husband almost got me killed, if it wasn't for the mere miscalculation about Itachi's strength I would be somewhere South of the Shinobi world doing God knows what", she said her anger blaring.

"This is exactly why marrying Itachi is not the best thing for you", she countered

"If you stop this wedding all you will do is hurt me and Itachi in the process", she snapped.

"Itachi will be able to handle it", Konan said matching her level of anger. "You are my primary concern. I'm trying to help you"

"You can't", Soraya shouted. "Not in this situation"

"You are just a teenager, you have so much to look forward to", Konan's voice rising, but not to the level of shouting. She wanted to hold firm her stance, but not escalate the situation.

"Why did you hide that you were a noble? Why did you fully adopt me, and Masaru, what was the point, do you even love us"

"How can you even question that, of course I love you", Konan gathered herself, it was brief but the look Soraya gave her made Konan realize that she was having trust issues and she was afraid. Soraya needed reassurance and the truth. "If Hanzo would have found you, not only would you be raped, tortured, maimed, he would have killed you not only because you are a Rui, but you and he have the same exact power. I know he is supposed to train you, he is compelled to, even against his will. Your power is passed down and intensified each generation through blood. Your brother has already been trained by Misaki, but I have no idea why she is still alive.

"What do you mean", Soraya asked. "Speak plainly"

"There can only be two heads of the Rui clan not four, The Rui's are a very secretive clan and although their numbers were many before their purge, there were usually only two Heads, a male and a female. Hanzo and Misaki have only filled that role because they were the last two. The leaders usually pass down their powers through intense training of the next heirs and then die by their hands."

Soraya started to process what was said. "He would kill me to avoid being killed, but why make me a princess and the heir to Amekagure?", she asked.

"Because I truly do love you as my own, and Hanzo wouldn't rape his own daughter even if adopted, he still has a set of standards as Kage"

"Then marrying Itachi is the only way to be truly safe", Soraya reemphasized. "And it won't be as bad as you think we love each other", Konan's breath hitched in her throat at the statement. Soraya's heart start to race as she awaited her mother's reaction. Soraya rose from the bed clutching the hanbok close to her. She wanted some distance from Konan after a long silence. Konan took notice but did not dare snatch the material out of her hands. Soraya was clearly hiding something that she didn't want found.

"If you knew what I knew, there is no way you would feel the same way", Soraya perched her lips together. There it was again, a missing piece of information she didn't have, but she knew it had to be dealt with between Itachi and herself.

"Anything between Itachi and I can be handled together", she stated firmly.

"Dinner is ready", Masaru interrupted awkwardly. Both women turned in his direction, as the room was filled with tension. "Are you guys okay?", he asked.

"Apparently yes", said Konan her statement filled with undertones, that Soraya fully understood but left Masaru totally confused. "I will see you both downstairs"

Masaru waited until Konan was gone. "What was that about", asked Soraya.

"Wedding plans", said Soraya closing the door in Marasu's face. She exhaled as she took the ball of paper out of her pocket. It was a note from Kakashi after they fought the Janjira. Itachi did not remember that Kakashi was there, which both of them agreed would be the best. Nonetheless, she couldn't throw away the note, that was so simple, yet could reveal everything. She grabbed a box that was behind her bed that was filled of cards, letters, and other precious items and she placed it inside. Her birth mother must of really known what to pack before she was killed, as she had this box for many years. This was her first time opening it since she arrived in this world. Nostalgia washed over her, as she remembered receiving each letter. Nonetheless, this note from Kakashi reminded her that there were more precious things to come.

"You seemed distressed", Nagato stated to Konan at the table. Konan eyed Itachi as he came into the dining room.

"I can assure you I am not", Konan answered. "Sora-chan and I just had a little disagreement that is all"

"Disagreement?", Yahiko asked surprisingly. "What did you say" Konan was appalled at his statement and her stare gave him that indignation. "Sorry, but Soraya is usually reserved"

"I can assure you Soraya will voice her opinion if she feels strongly about a subject, she is actually quite stubborn in some areas", added Itachi.

"So you finally noticed", said Masaru as he went for one of the side dishes before Konan smacked his hand.

"Wait for your sister", Konan mouthed to him. Masaru grumbled as he sat back in his chair. Soraya finally came down in one of her nicer hanbok, which happened to be one of Konan's favorites on her. It was a sort of peace offering, that she hoped Konan would take.

Konan and everyone's dress was equally elaborate as though it was a private dinner, it was very much a formal occasion as a form of celebration.

"Glad you can finally join us", said Nagato giving her a hug. "Why don't you sit next to your fiancee"

"Thanks, papa", Soraya smiled brightly looking directly at her mom as it was a small win for her. "Jieun must have used one of my recipes, where is she, she should be here"

"At her father's home, he's in danger of losing his position, so she's there to comfort him", Yahiko answered. Soraya nodded.

"Jieun has been so good to Masaru, I hope everything turns out well"

"You should focus on your wedding, your friend Sazume will make an appearance in the next two weeks, and be your bridesmaid",

"Maid-of Honor", Soraya corrected, "Well I don't know exactly how the wedding actually takes place, I've never been to a wedding in my life", she said in elation. Konan stared darkly at Itachi and it did not escape Soraya. Itachi continued eating without saying a word, allotting to ignore Konan's negative vibes. That and he refused to argue with a pregnant woman, as he remembered how irritable his mother was during the last trimester with his brother.

"The first step is usually a proposal letter sent by the groom's family", stated Konan through bites. Itachi's eye's met hers and their eyes were deadlocked. "Usually the elders of the clan" Konan's added information seemed innocent enough to where Soraya usually wouldn't pay any mind. However, when Yahiko placed his hand on her's, she knew something was amiss. The slight stiffening and the look he gave Konan was a warning. That's when she remembered Itachi's clan was dead except for Sasuke. Her throat became dry at the realization that this may be a tense dinner.

"That step will not be necessary since we live under the same roof, and Itachi has been her bodyguard and protector, we can skip those formalities", said Yahiko tapping her hand and urging her to stop whatever she was planning.

"Is it the groom's side that chooses the wedding date?", interjected Masaru "What do you think the date should be?", asked Masaru to Itachi in an excited manner.

"Sooner the better, but you and your sister are born in spring and I, in early summer. I think May would be a good month"

"That's the due date of the twins I think that would be great", Soraya and Itachi smiled at each other.

"Yes it would be", added Nagato who was trying to encourage Konan to be in a more cheerful mood. "And hopefully a grandfather right after" Konan coughed at the statement, which didn't go unnoticed by Soraya.

"Darling, they can wait to consummate their marriage", Konan laughed awkwardly. "Soraya will only be 15, marriage isn't just about sex and having an heir, look at us we grew with each other, learned together."

"To be honest, I plan on doing all those things with Soraya", Itachi said. "This is not just a marriage of convenience, it's for her protection." Masaru chuckled as Soraya's face was filled with embarrassment.

"And how honest do plan to be, you haven't had your first argument yet, how do even know it will last"

"Even if we did, it would be between Itachi and I", Soraya interjected saving Itachi the grace of further dealing with Konan.

"I already promised Soraya that I would be fully honest with her", Itachi stated to Konan. To Soraya, he was referencing their past argument, but Konan and he knew the actual subject he was referring to.

"Truth and honesty are sometimes not the same things", Konan said. Yahiko squeezed her leg informing her that she needed to stop provoking the situation further.

"I see you are settling in the mother-in-law role", Itachi said calmly. Too calm for Yahiko and Nagato's taste. "Meddling is something I did not foresee as a habit you would gain, but motherhood brings unknown traits from women"

"Let's not poke around with the word honesty because I have been deceived by all of you at some point", Soraya accused.

"That is different-", Konan was about to explain herself.

"Really", interrupted Soraya, "is it for my protection, because if so, everyone at this table has used this excuse" Masaru started to choke on his food and drunk the tea to try to force his food down.

"Does she know that I know what Itachi is hiding from her", thought Masaru to himself. He deduced that she probably knew Itachi's thoughts and the inner workings of his mind. It was true that he knew Itachi's past after the brief glimpse of his mind, but Itachi put the fear of God in him to never read his mind again. Because of that, he never mentioned Itachi's thoughts to Soraya. Also, it was pretty clear to him that Soraya and Itachi needed each other in many ways so he wasn't going to do anything to jeopardize their budding relationship.

"Listen both of you", she waved her chopsticks at both Itachi and Konan. "I know I appear diffident, especially because of my past illness, but I'm very from it, I'm very much capable and not made of glass, so I expect you to treat me as such I'm neurodivergent, not stupid", she huffed. "And another thing, Mama I very much respect your input, but I hope that the next piece of advice will support Itachi and I's impending marriage, and Itachi you will fully respect mom as your own mother, we are family and there are bigger problems at hand". Everyone went silent and stopped eating after Soraya's reprimand. The silence was broken with Masaru clapping his hands at the brief speech.

"Bravo sis, you go with the boundaries", she nodded at him and continued eating. Nagato warmly smiled at her budding confidence and so did Yahiko. Konan and Itachi looked deflated as they nodded in agreement to settle their differences.

"Itachi would you like some more pork", asked Konan as a peace offering.

"Very much so", she placed it on his rice bowl, avoiding eye contact with Soraya. Both Nagato and Yahiko chuckled at the two. The rest of the meal was finished with benign silence.

After dinner and changing into something more casual Itachi knocked on Soraya's door. She answered it, but only cracked it and didn't let him inside. She very much did not want to be alone with him, as the grandfather remark was still fresh on her brain.

"I want to tell you after the festival, I will be on a mission to The Mist", Soraya nodded and waited to see why he was truly at her door. "Thank you for defending me"

"Duty as a wife", she answered.

"No, that was purely you", Soraya motioned him inside as he clearly wanted to say more.

"I need to tell you something"

"I lo-", Soraya covered his mouth, not wanting to hear those words. She shook her head.

"I don't want to hear those words until you can be fully honest with me, plus I know about Kakashi and he's been ready to hear those words from you a long time, and you should tell it to him first because you clearly love him", Itachi was shocked at the statement.

"How did you-"

"I've known since Konoha, I saw you together-together" Itachi paused as he had to register her innuendo and immediately remembered their sexual exploits at the cemetery. A mixture of terror and embarrassment washed over his face.

"Oh", Itachi was getting red.

"It doesn't bother me, and Kakashi has saved me more than once, at first for the sake of you, but we are friends", she clarified. "And I don't want you to to stop seeing each other on my account, you bring a great comfort to each other Kakashi needs you as much as you need him"

"Okay", said Itachi. "But I have been hiding something"

"Clearly, but I'm not ready to hear it", stated Soraya firmly. "The festival is tomorrow and I want us to have fun like a normal teenage couple, get to know each other, forget that you are powerful shinobi and me a damsel princess, I want us to be just Itachi and Soraya. I want us to be happy no matter how brief it is"

Itachi went to cup her cheek but she retreated from his touch. She was still slightly afraid of him since the attack, and he took notice. "May I touch you", he asked. She nodded as she stepped towards him and put his hand on her cheek. "Your wish is my command". She nodded as she went on her tippy toes to peck him on the cheek.

"What's on the bed?", Itachi asked.

"You mean my Mp3, you listen to music on it", she laughed.

"I never had time for things like that, I don't even know who's popular", Itachi said sadly

"If it makes you feel better neither do I, my parents didn't allow for modern music, they wouldn't even allow me to go to the school dance, but Eulalia always downloaded a song or two every time I visited my cousins, but I prefer old school anyways", Soraya had a sad smile thinking of her old life.

"Well I do know how to dance a little", Itachi said flirtatiously.

"You do?", he grabbed the small device and an earpiece.

"It's not a school dance, but would you like to be the dj and dance with me", Soraya smiled ear to ear and nodded. Soraya decided on the song "Some Enchanted Evening" from The Temptations, as she took his hand.

Some enchanted evening

You may see a stranger,

You may see a stranger

Across a crowded room

And somehow you know,

You know even then

That somewhere you'll see her

Again and again...

"This song is very-"

"Soulful", Soraya answered. "I discovered it in my parent's cd stash and had to have it"

Some enchanted evening

When you find your true love,

When you feel her call you

Across a crowded room,

Then fly to her side,

And make her your own

For all through your life you

May dream all alone.

"I can't wait until tomorrow!", she exclaimed while dancing in his arms.

"I'm content right here, today", he said as he twirled her.

"How sweet", Soraya replied. "It's just, it's my first time to attend a festival since I've been here, now that I think about it I really never been outside the compound, I've never seen Amekagure."

"Well I should do my best to keep you entertained", he said as he started to twirl her again on a faster song.

Masaru went in the direction of Soraya's room about an hour after dinner. He wanted to make sure that Soraya wasn't angry with him for hiding information. Soraya was very careful in her speech and implying that all deceived her meant she knew that Masaru had some type of information on Itachi. He wasn't going to tell her what he knew. Nevertheless, he wanted to make sure they were on good terms.

Soraya's door was still cracked, he was about to knock but he heard laughter coming from the room. He peeked through the crack to see her and Itachi dancing with one earpiece in each ear. Soraya was showing him dance and laughed at his attempts.

Masaru smiled, then his face started to go into a small frown. Sometimes, it was a curse being able to read minds. He knew everything about the two, their motivations their regrets, their memories. It was a matter of time the dark truth behind Itachi, and he already calculated how she would react. She would forgive him eventually. Very few people had unconditional love, and she was born with it. But what was worse, is that Soraya fell deeply in love with Itachi, and his impending early death would leave his mark on her.

"Enjoy it while you can sis", Masaru whispered before gently closing the door.
