Jax woke up the next morning anxious to start the day. He knew that today was the day to finalize all the decisions they have been making regarding which business to invest in, buy and run. It was also that day that he was expected to sit at the head of the table. But did he really want to be president when he wasn't even sure that he would be staying in Charming?

He decided that he needed to call Tara. He picked up his phone pressing on her name and praying that she answered.

"Hello" She answered

Jax closes his eyes and smiles relieved.

"Hey babe, you got a minute.?"

"Ya I just dropped the kids off at school and have an hour before I have to be at work, why are you ok?" she asked worriedly

"Ya I'm ok, great actually, I was hoping that we could just…..talk for a minute.? He asks

"Oh….ok ya, what's going on?" she asked surprised. She never would have expected in a million years Jax would ever call her just to "Talk" about his feelings.

"Well, today is the day we have all been waiting for, right? Well everyone is expecting me to take the gavel, which I get but I don't really know that I want to take it or of I should with the future being so unknown you know. I'm not sure what I should do?"

Tara listened and knew that his last statement was not more of a statement but a question. She also knew that the future he was talking about was a future where there was a him and her together. She needed to choose her next words very carefully. She was so proud of him of all he accomplished. She wanted him to continue being so motivated, and happy but she was not sure that she was ready for a relationship, but she definitely didn't want to close the door on the option. She admittedly still fantasized about a future where she and him grew old together.

"Jax, I don't know if you should take the gavel or shouldn't take the gavel. What I can do is tell you what I do know. I know you are a good man. You are strong and smart and clever. You are a natural born leader and people have always followed you Jax. Even when we were kids. What I think is you should not make this determination on the future because the future is never set in stone. What you should focus on the present and the things within your control here and now, besides after everything you have accomplished for the good of the club, im positive your father would want you to be apart of it."

He smiled. He knew she would say the right thing and make him center.

"Your right babe, like always" he joked.

"Yep and the sooner you learn that the better off you'd be" she joked back.

"Ha ha, ok babe I better get ready. I have to meet Lowen to finalize the paperwork on the Diner."

"The diner?" she asked. "The one we used to go to all the time in middle school and high school, where you took me on our first date?" she asked.

"That's the one darlin. I renamed it too" he told her.

"Oh ya, what did you name it?" she asked

"Tara's"

There was a pause. He then heard sniffling.

"Tara babe, are you crying?"

"Its these damn hormones" she answered "I have to go get ready for work Jax, I love you"

He smiled. He knew he touched her. "Ok babe, I love you too

After he got off the phone with Tara he called Opie.

"Mornin brother" he answered

"Hey, can you call the guys let them know to spread the word I want to meet today. Finalize all the money opportunities.?"

"You got is Pres." He answered

"Ok VP" Jax retorted

"VP huh" Opie said

"You surprised?" Jax asked

"No, just crazy to hear it out loud."

Jax chuckled. Ya it is. See you around 2"

As ordered, everyone was there at 2 o clock sharp waiting at the chapel doors.

Jax nodded at everyone and entered the Chapel first. He slowly walked in and took the seat at the head of the table. Opie walked in next taking the seat to the left.

"Happy" Jax called out. He then motioned his hand to the seat on the right. "Want it?" he asked

"Hell ya Pres." He answered and sat.

"Chibs" Jax called next and motioned him to sit next to Happy. Bobby was called after that. From there everyone took their rightful seats. Before Tig took his new seat noting his position with the club Jax wanted to ask him a question.

"Tig wait, before you sit, I just have to make sure where your loyalty lies, you were devoted to Clay for so many years. You were in on a lot of decisions that were made without the club's knowledge. You have to know that as of right now those kinds of decisions do not exist. This club will be run as a democracy not dictatorship. Now I'm giving you the chance to decide if you are really ok with not being an outlaw?"

Tig stood straight. "Jax, you are right. I was Clays right hand for many years. I did things I shouldn't have. Some things worse than others. But I assure you my loyalty lies with this Club. Last night I laid in bed thinking about all the years I lost with my daughters because of Clay. I am ready to start a new kind of life. One where I can finally reconnect with my daughters. I am here for SAMCRO and ready to follow you as my president"

Jax looked around to see what all the others thought of his statement. All smiling and nodding. Jax looked to Tig and nodded. "Ok, have a seat"

Jax bangled the gavel signaling the beginning of Chapel "Lets begin"

They started spitting out ideas.

"Tattoo shop, Apartment buildings, the strip mall up town, an arcade for the kids."

Jax liked them all. "Ok they all sound good. Let's do it. I'm meeting with Lowen this afternoon to finalize the paperwork for Tara's diner. Ill also make sure to go over SAMCRO's finances and see where we are after Gemma's house is sold."

"Hey Jackie, I think I speak for everyone when I ask, have you talked to Tara, the boys?

Jax smiled. "Actually, yes I have. We have been talking every day. She is actually the reason I am sitting here today. She made me realize that this is my legacy. Even if I'm not here in the future, I need to be here now. I want to be honest with you guys I want my family back. I will be doing everything I can to make that happen. When Tara left this Club and this town was in a very dangerous place. She had every right to want to leave. Now that we have gotten rid of the poison, I want to prove to her that Charming is safe again so she will come home. But please understand there is a lot of damage done, if she is never comfortable coming home then I will go. "

He looked around the room feeling out the reaction.

"Aye Jackie" Chibs started. "I have thought many times that I should have fought more for Kerriane and Fiona"

"Not only that but almost everyone is sitting here today because she saved their life in one way or another, we owe it to her to respect her decision no matter what that is" Bobby added.

"She IS the current Queen of SAMCRO and that will stand until further notice" Jax stated.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Ok now that is out of the way we have one more item of business, who is running the Club and the automotive office" Jax asked.

They decided they would hire someone new for the position. Before ending Church Jax decided to keep the auto shop running having Bobby run the office until they hired someone else

Later that day Jax met with Lowen and the previous owner of the diner. When that was finished Jax asked Lowen if she had a minute to go over some things.

"Sure Jax whats up?"

"I just need to know where we are financially." He stated.

"Oh, actually I just received a fax from the bank with that information. I havnt had a chance to look at it. Lets see."

She grabbed the documents and began looking them over.

"Oh my" she stated in shock

Jax heart sank "what is it lower than we thought?"

"Um no actually. Apparently SAMCRO had 2 accounts. The other account apparently no-one knew about with 4.5 million dollars."

Jaxs mouth fell open "WHAT?"

She handed the statement over to Jax. He looked it over. "Holy shit I don't even know if my mom knew about this"

He couldn't believe it. He was so relieved. Now the doors were open even wider. He wasn't sure how Clay managed to get his hands on that kind of money. He figured probably years of embezzlement. Either way, its his now and sky was the limit. He couldn't wait to tell Tara.

3 months went by. In total SAMCRO owned a total of 47 businesses in Charming. They had bought all the bars, boutiques, owned most of the apartment complexes. They also opend a tattoo shop run by Happy and a rec center for the kids and teens of Charming. They re vamped the auto shop changing the name to Teller-Wintson automotive. SAMCRO decided to be a silent partner with Diosa with Lyla being the C.O. they had 100's of employees and everything was running were also making a comeback with the community making sure everyone in town knew they didn't have to fear SAMCRO. They were giving back to the community and town seemed happy and content.

Unser made it known to Jax that he wasn't happy with Gemmas absence. But he was able to provide proof she was still alive. Next thing they knew Unser left town. They knew he followed his love.

Jax and Tara continued to talk everyday. He also made sure to call the boys every night to tell them good night. Jax even bought a tablet so he could video chat with them.

Tara had gotten a room mate. A friend she met at work. A nurse named Lexi. She seemed nice enough and Jax was glad Tara wasn't alone. Although he wished she was there with him. Apparently Lexi was in an abusive relationship and finally ended it. Tara being the kind hearted person she was took her in.

One day Jax got a call from Tara crying

"Jax, I just got back from the Dr's. They are saying I have to take maternity leave."

"Why what's wrong with the baby?" He pushed concerned.

"The Dr ran a stress test because i was having some cramps and he said that when Im on my feet for too long she gets destress. Im not on bed rest but he took me off work" she explained

"Its going to be ok baby. Where are you right now?" He asked.

"Driving home from the dr office."

"Ok is Lexi home today?"

"Yes, she worked the night shift."

"Ok give me her phone number" he said

"Her number? Um.. 341-555-2234"

"Ok babe listen. I want you to go home and relax. I promise everything will be ok." Jax told her.

Tara sniffled. "Ok"

"Ok I love you."

"Love you too"

Jax hung up with Tara and dialed Lexi's number.

A sleepy voice answerer. "Heello"

" Hi my name is Jax im..."

"Taras husband?" She interuppted

"Yes. Look i know we haven't been introduced but I need to ask you for a favor. Tara's dr took her off of work because the baby is getting stressed while shes at work. She pretty worked up. Can you do something for me?" He asked

"Oh of course" she answered

Jax asked Lexi to help get the boys for her and make her relax. He explained that Tara was very independent and stubborn and wouldn't ask for help. He then explained that Taras mom always wore a body spray called Odessay and when Tara was young whenever she was scared or upset she would spray the scent around and it would always calm her down.

"Last I knew you could get it at any Walmart." He explained.

"Yes I actually have seen that sold around here. Ill make sure she is relaxed and grab some."

"Thank you Lexi, and thank you so much for taking care of my family."

"It really no problem Jax has became like a sister to me."

They said their goodbyes and hung up. Jax decided in that moment that he would use the zip code from Lexis number and try and locate Tara. He had respected her wishes but now his family needed him.

He called Lyla to see how he could use the internet and find out what zip codes where from what area.

"Oh um.. Well you could always google it." Lyla answered

"Google it? So I would just type what area uses this zip code.?" He asked.

"Exactly, do you want me to try?" She asked

"No its ok I was just wondering thanks darlin" and he hung up.

He grabbed his tablet and did what Lyla suggested and searched the zip code in google.

"Colorado?" He then used google and searched Dr. Tara knowles colorado. Nothing came up.

"Ugh I cant just go not knowing where the hell she is in the whole damn state!"

But then it hit him. "She kept my name!"

He searched again this time using Dr. Tara Teller. He found her. He sat back and his heart started to race and his stomach began to flip. He wasted no time after that. He began to pack. He decided to ride his bike to Colorado even though it would take about 23 hours he would leave tonight and get there tomorrow night. He knew he was risking being rejected by Tara and even upsetting her but she had to understand he had to come to her. If he was anything consistent it was protective.

Before leaving he called Opie.

"Hey brother im going out of state for a few days. I need you to take care of things while Im gone." Jax explained

"Where you goin?" Opie asked

"Ok i will tell you but you need to keep it to yourself until I say otherwise. I know you will tell Lyla but no further, Tara called and the baby is stressed and the Dr took her off work. I found her Ope. Im going to her."

"Damn brother. Where is she?" Opie asked

"Colorado"

"Holy shit. Thats going to be a fulls days ride"

"Ya, im leaving now."

"Ok well stay safe" opie tells him

"I will. Ill get ahold of ya in a day or so."

They say good bye and Jax takes off.

Back at Tara's Lexi did as Jax instructed and made sure she didn't give Tara any room to argue. When she made sure Tara was down for a nap on the couch she went to walmart and picked up some Oddesay. When Tara woke up from her nap Lexi came walking up to her with some Tea and strawberries.

"Oh Lexi you don't have to do all this. Thank you but Im fine." Tara tells her.

"Drs orders Tara."

Tara went to reach for the cup when she gets a wiff of something familiar.

"What is that?" She asks.

Lexi smiles.

Tara realizes what she is smelling. "Is that Oddesay?"

Lexi nodded.

"How did you know?"

"Jax asked me to get it for you" she explained. He seems very protective of you.

"Oh you have no idea" Tara says and begins to drink her tea.

Lexi sits with her on the couch. "Can I ask you somthing?"

"Um sure" tara answers

"Ok well me and you have gotten close. I mean I think of you as my sister. You know everything about me including my humiliating past. But You have barley explained why you left California. What happened? Jax is so protective and obviously loves you and the boys so much and you seem to know that. Why did you leave?"

Tara sets her cup down. " love isn't always enough. Me and Jax love each other yes but its a little more complicated."

Lexi leaned in a little closer. "You can trust me Tara."

Tara took a deep breath. "Ok where do you want me to start?"

Lexis eyes lit up. "The very beginning"

Tara chuckled. "Ok, well we were 16..."

Once Tara started she couldn't stop. She had never thought she would meet some one she could trust to tell her story. She would admit it felt so nice to be able to talk to someone about what she had went though. A huge weight was now lifted now that her secret was out.

At the end of the story Lexi was in awe.

"Oh my God Tara!"

Tara nodded. "Ya I know"

"First off Abel looks just like Jax, i just figured he took after him. I would never have known you weren't his real mother. But after all that, i mean he banished his own mom and killed his step father. Now I know I don't know Jax personally but if everything you jist told me was true I don't believe for a second he only did that just for the club. He is risking everything for you and your kids. Are you going to take him back?"

"I want to so much. In my heart I have no doubt we will be together again. I just wanted to wait a little bit longer to make sure his outlaw side is truly gone. But..."

Tara then started to get choked up.

"Oh Tara!" Lexi came over and hugged Tara tight.

"I just miss him so much" Tara lost it.

Back on the road Jax was traveling as fast as he could. "Im coming babe."

Jax drove through the night and decided to stop for some coffee. He pulled over and decided to call Tara.

"Hey Jax" she answered.

"Hey. How are you feeling.?"

"Well rested and relaxed thanks to Lexi, well thanks to you." She said

"Of course babe, Ill always find a way to take care of you no matter how far apart we are. Im glad you are feeling better babe I got to run. Ill talk to you soon I love you."

"I love you Jax."

Once Jax ate and drank some coffee he decided to get back on the road. Around 6 that night he finally made it to the Colorado border. He was still out an hour of where Tara was and he couldn't keep his eyes open. He decided to take the night and sleep then wake up in time to get to Tara after she took the boys to school. Not that he didn't want to see the boys he just wasn't sure what Tara's reaction would be. He stopped at the next motel he seen and checked in.

He called Ope to see how things were going and fell right to sleep. He slept so hard he didn't even hear his phone ring. He woke up at 5:30 in the morning. He rubbed his eyes checked his phone seen Tara had called and texted.

"Hey baby, I just wanted to hear your voice before I went to sleep. Ill talk to you tomorrow. Love you."

Jax smiled. He sent her a text. " Mornin babe, ill talk to you soon. Love you."

He was so anxious to get goin. He took a quick 10 minute shower checked out and went back on the road.

It was about 7:30 and he pulled up to a white house with dark blue shutters, an attached garage with the address he found online. Thinking about how easy it was to actually find her kind of scared him but he wouldn't get into that right now. He parked his bike and looked around real quick. It seemed like a nice enough neighborhood. Clean and well manicured.

His hands began to sweat and his heart started to race. He lifted his hand and knocked.

No answer. He tried again and rang the door bell. Still nothing.

There was a big living room window and he peered inside.

He saw paintings obviously done by a child which had convinced him he was at the right house but then he saw the confirmation he needed to be sure. A picture on the mantle of him and Tara.

He smiled thinking about. He figured she went to drop the boys off to school. He was trying to decide if he should wait or go and try to come back later. He turned to walk back to his bike when a car pulled into the drive way. He stopped. Frozen unable to move. His heart beating out of his chest.

Inside the car Lexi asked. "Um..is that?"

"Jax" Tara exclaimed in shock.

Lexi was driving and as soon as she stopped the car Tara got out.

She stood there in the driveway and Jax stood on the stoop. Them both just looking at each others eyes.

Her hair longer now passed her shoulders. Her skin porcelain and glowing. She was wearing a simple long dark green shirt covering her ever growing 7th month pregnant belly with black yoga pants. Jax was amazed at how beautiful she was.

Taras eyes filled with tears from the flood of emotion. She couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Jax, oh my god JAX!" She ran to him.

He met her half way and he picked her up wrapping his arms around her.

She held on to him so as as if she were to let him go he would dissapear.

"Tara! Oh my god babe"

Then they kissed. Kissed so passionately.

"Don't let me me inside Jax"

He turned and walked inside with her in his arms.

Lexi seeing this decides. "Well Im just going to grab some coffee."

He takes her inside and she leads him to her room. He gently lays her on the bed. He hovers over her and he starts to kiss her all over her neck, lips, face. Taking it all in. Suddenly he stops.

"Babe, are you sure its safe?" He asks out of breath.

"Yes" she answers quickly before leaning back up to kiss him.

Thry finally are able to take a few moment to take off all their clothes. Jax looks up and down.

"Damn babe, your so beautiful, I missed you so much." Jax tells her.

"I missed you too. So much" she says back.

They waist no more time and Jax enters her.

They both moan in pure ectasy.

"Oh my god Tara! Im not going to last long" Jax tells her.

Tara wrapped her legs around his torso and had her fingers entwined in his hair. "Its ok baby Im almost there, oh Jax! Jax, Jax, JAX!"

"Don't be mad because it sounds like I did it on purpose but you have to believe me I really didn't. I used google to search the area code associated with Lexis number." He explained. "When you called me something came over me. I cant explaine it I just knew I had to get to you."

Tara smiled. "Im not upset Jax. If you didn't already come I would have asked you sooner rather than later anyway, I couldn't take it anymore Jax. I need you. The boys need you. Im so sorry Jax."

Tara then began to cry. Jax held her tight.

"Babe no, please I get it. I understand why you left. You were right."

Tara looked at Jax. He could tell she has been tormenting herself with the decision she made.

"What?" She asked

"You were right. Charming was too dangerous for you and our boys and this little girl." He rubbed her belly.

"Look, the day you left yes I was pissed, hurt, and devestated. But it finally opened my eyes to what you were trying to tell me. Not I was a really shitty husband and father. I was never around to help you or the kids but you were always there for the club. I don't deserve you."

"Oh Jax yes you..." She began but Jax didn't let her finish.

"But... That will not stop me from traveling to the ends to the earth to get to you to be there for you, to protect you. I will spend the rest of my life making up for everything and making sure you feel safe and loved."

Tara didn't say anything more. She just leaned in and kissed him again.

After another round of love making they decided to get out of bed and take a shower. They came out of the room hand in hand. Lexi seeing this smiled.

"Well just look at you two. I have never seen Tara smile like that since I met her, as a matter of fact I should formally introduce myself. Im Lexi" she stood and walked over to Jax with her hand extended.

"Oh ya sorry I'm Jax."

"Don't worry about it You guys were too busy "catching up". She joked.

Tara blushed. "Ok ok. Well we still got a couple of hours until the boys get picked up. How about we go get somthing to eat and you can tell me how everyone is doing back home"

"What ever you want babe." He said.

"Good Im starving. This little girl is making me gain way more weight then the boys ever did."

"You look amazing babe." He pulled her in for a kiss.

Lexi feeling awkward decided she was going to relax before her shift. " ok well I will let you two get to that and Im going to lay down for a few hours. See you later."

"Ok lets go" Tara said.

"Are you sure we cant just order in. Relax here?" He asked. Knowing her Dr told her to relax.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Ya im happy just chilling here. Lets order something."

"Ok!" She smiled.

They ordered some pizza and Jax filled her in on how everyone was doing. Then he filled her in on the night he got rid of Clay and Gemma.

"Tig said what? Holy shit!" Tara said in aw

"Ya. We were all shocked." Jax told her

"Im surprised about Happy, I mean im not surprised he was loyal to you but even he was ready for a change. I never would have guessed he would be willing to give up the life." Tara said

Jax looked down and shrugged. "We were all in over our heads. We all realized that we were not on the same level as the cartel. We had no business trying to be."

Tara nodded. "Better late than never. Now we can only move forward from here right?" She asked.

He smiled at her. "Exactly, and for the first time in a very long time im excited for the future.

She laid her hand on his and they just spent the next few moments looking into each others eyes.

He decided to wait a few days before asking her if she planned to return to Charming. He wanted to take the next couple of days to remind her why she fell in love with him. Starting with something he hadn't done since highschool...take her on a date
