3 weeks went by since James went into a coma. Tara was doing her rounds when she got a call from her nurse friend Scarlett.
"Tara, James brother Drew is here and is insisting James be transferred to Colorado. He has his lawyer here too." Scarlett said.
"Ok Ill be right there."
Tara was down the hall when she heard yelling.
"I DONT CARE WHAT HE DID. HES MY BROTHER. IM HIS ONLY FAMILY AND IM TAKING HIM BACK WITH ME WHERE HE BELONGS!".
Tara walked up. "Whoa whats going on here?" She asked Margaret.
"Sheriff Roseveltte is trying to stop James's brother from being able to take him back to Colorado but it looks like given his condition a judge signed off allowing it." Margret explained.
"Oh shit." She said.
Roseveltte walked up. "Im sorry Tara. There is nothing I can do. The judge signed off on his petition. We have to allow it "
"I have to go talk to Lexi" Tara said.
"Tell her to go ahead and take the rest of the day." Margaret said.
Tara nodded. "Thanks"
Lexi had just finished taking the vitals of the newest addition to the nursery when she seen Tara and smiled.
"Look at this precious baby girl. 9 pounds. Shes perfect." Lexi said
Tara smiled. "She is beautiful. Hey we need to talk" Tara told Lexi what just transpired. Lexi couldn't believe it.
"How can they let him go? How do they know he wont come out of his coma and come back here?" Lexi said frantic. Tara put her hand in her shoulder.
"We will keep tabs on him Lex. Noone would let you or your baby get hurt. You know that right?" Tara asked
Lexi nodded. "Yes"
"Margaret told you to take the day. Go home relax." Tara said
"I still have my rounds" Lexi said.
"Your worked up. It understandable but its not good for the baby,please go relax" she said
"Ok your right" lexi said
Lexi walked out of the front doors of the hospital just as the transportation ambulance was loading James. Lexi couldn't help but angrily stare. Drew noticed this and looked back at her confused. "HEY!" He yelled out to get her attention.
Lexi realizing he was calling for her ignored him and high tailed it to her car. She went straight to the club house to look for Happy. Pulling up she didn't see his bike and went to the garage to see where he was.
"Oh Jax sent him to do a repo with Kozic. He should be back soon." The prospect told him
"Ok, im going to wait in his dorm" she said
Steph seen Lexi walk in. "Hey Lexi. Can I get you something?"
"No thanks, im just going back to wait for Hap in the dorm."
She got back to Happys dorm and sat on the bed. The smell of him instantly calmed her. She laid her head down and before she knew it she fell asleep.
Happy walked into the club house and sat down at the bar.
"Hey Steph, can I get a shot? The repo was fucking crazy." He said.
"Um..sure but Lex is back in your dorm waiting for you." She told him
"She is? She supposed to be working." He said getting up forgetting about the shot.
He opened the door and seen her sleeping peacefully. He hated to wake her but needed to know what happened. He sat next to her and slowly started to push her hair behind her ear causing her to stir.
"Lex, hey babe" he said low
She opened her eyes and shot up. "Huh? Happy? Oh shit I didn't mean to fall asleep" she said rubbing her face.
"Its ok babe, did something happen at work?"
"Your not going to believe this. Remember when I told you James had a brother. Well he showed up today and had a judge sign off on a transfer and transferred him back to Colorado." She explained
"Son of a bitch." He said
"Ya my thoughts exactly." She said
"Well. Its going to be ok. If we are lucky he'll stay in a coma or finally just die, what ever happends, we will find a way to keep an eye on him with the help from other charters and nomads." He said. Lexi nodded and looked down. Happy reached over and put his hand under her chin and made her look him in the eyes.
"I promise you will be safe."
She smiled. "I know."
After a few days Lexi started to feel more at ease. She decided she wouldn't allow James to effect her life anymore. Jax had arranged per Happy's request that the charter based closest to Colorado and 2 nomads of his choosing would provide the mother Charter weekly updates pertaining to the status of James. There was only one issue. He wasn't being kept at a hospital. Instead he was being kept at his brothers home. They couldn't get updates on his health. But they could ensure to get updates on who came in and out of the property. They were even abel to get a couple of the local officers on the payroll and they agreed to keep a close eye on James and his brother and would contact Jax or Happy right away with any changes.
Lexis next drs appointment would tell her if she was having a boy or girl. The day finally came and she was so excited. Happy was nervous. He was hoping for a boy.
"I just..ugh don't know what I would do if I had a girl." He said
"You would love her and protect her just like you do me." She said
The dr called her in and Lexi hopped on the table ready to ensure her baby was healthy. The dr began to take measurements of her stomach first.
"Hmm, your belly is starting to grow now isnt it. Your measuring a little further along then your chart shows. Where your periods regular?" She asked
Lexi shook her head. "No not really."
The dr nodded. "Ok, its possible we are just off by a could of weeks. Lets take a look at this baby shall we. Do you want to know the sex?"
"Yes" Lexi answered
The dr began the ultrasound. She didn't get far before she noticed something. "Oh my" she said
"What? Is something wrong?" Lexi asked
Happy grabbed her hand preparing for the worst.
"No nothing is wrong that I can see so far, its just, you are doubly blessed. See." She pointed to the screen.
"Oh my god!" Lexi said smiling
"What? What is it?" Happy asked confused
Lexi looked at Happy and smiled. "We are having twins" she said
Happys eyes went wide. "Twins? Are...are you sure?" He asked
The dr chuckled. "Yes Im quite sure. Looks like baby A is a...boy and baby B is a...girl. Well look at that, one of each. Congratulations." She said
Happy sat down on a chair in shock. The dr finished with the check up and printed the pictures and left the room.
Lexi sat up. "Happy, are you ok?" She asked
He stood smiled and hugged her. "Im more than alright. You are amazing. Oh my god twins!"
Lexi giggled. "A boy and a girl. We will be a complete family."
Lexi couldn't wait to tell Lyla or Tara. After she got in the car she texted Tara and explained they were all at the club house letting the kids play on the play ground hanging with the guys.
" Everyone is hanging out at the club house." She told Happy.
He reached over and grabbed her hand. "Perfect, we can announce it to everyone at the same time"
They pulled up and seen Tara and Lyla watching the kids. Tara seeing Lexi waved.
Happy and Lexi walked up hand in hand. "Hey guys, why dont we go into the club house? Me and Happy want to make an announcement." Lexi said
Tara and Lyla smiled, got the kids around and headed inside.
Happy kissed Lexi and whistled loudly getting everyone's attention. "Ok guys, we just thought you guys would like to know what we are having." Happy held up the ultrasound pictures. "This picture is of our little boy"
Everyone began clapping and smiling. Then Lexi held up the other picture. "And this one is of our little girl" she said loudly.
Everyone got silent.
"AH TWINS!" Lyla yelled in excitement. Everyone again began clapping and coming up to hug and congratulate them.
The crow eaters poured a round of shots to celebrate the happy occasion.
"So Tara, when are you going to pop out another one?" Lyla asked
"Um..I think we are good. We got our 2 boys and our girl" Tara said. Jax overheard the conversation.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind another one or two" he said
Tara looked at him wide eyed. "One or Two!?" Jaxon Nathaniel Teller, what do you think I am just a baby making machine?" She said laughing.
"Hey Im just saying, another one wouldn't be awful as long as they take after you" He said with a wink and walked away.
"Aww" Lexi said
"No no, don't let his Teller charm fool you, this oven is done baking and adding more tellers to the world" Tara said
Lyla and Lexi just looked at each other and smiled.
Things seemed to go smooth over the next few months. The old ladies came up with a few other community fundraisers for various things. New playground equipment, local businesses, scholar ships for high school graduates.
Lyla and Opie had their baby. Another boy. Named him William Winston and Lexi and Happy got their own place not far from Jax and Tara's house. They decided it would be better to buy then to rent and Happy really wanted to live out in the country. It was not as big as Jax and Tara's house, but it was big enough for them. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a pole barn which Happy planned to convert into his own tattoo shop and a few acers of land. It was more than Lexi ever expected to have in life. She and Happy decided to wait until the babies were born to start planning the wedding. Lexi was so happy with her life. It seemed so perfect.
The day finally came for Tara and Lyla to throw Lexi her surprise baby shower.
"Lexi is going to love this" Lyla said. "What time does she get off work?" she asked
"She should be here in about 15 minutes actually. Im just glad I was able to get with Margaret to arrange the schedule so that we could invite all her work friends too." Tara said
"Yes that worked out so good. Do you think Happy will be upset about the cake?" Lyla asked
Tara looked down and could not believe her eyes. "oh my god Lyla, why would you….I mean it's a baby shower" she said
It was one of the boudoir pictures Lyla took for Happy, she wasn't naked but just barely covered in a sheet with her leg wrapped around. You could not see anything, but it definitely was sexy.
"What?" Lyla asked. "You can't see anything, and it is her party" She said.
"Ya for her baby!" Tara said chuckling. "You know what, we will just hope that Happy doesn't see it"
Tara put the lid back over the cake and put napkins on top.
Happy messaged Lyla telling her they were almost there.
"Ok guys here she comes" She says to everyone.
Lexi walked in and just in normal surprise party fashion everyone jumped out and yelled "SURPRISE"
Lexi was startled and grabbed her ever expanding belly. "OH MY GOD ARE YOU TRYING TO PUT ME INTO EARLY LABOR" she said laughing.
She began giving everyone hug and started tearing up so filled with gratitude. She got to Tara and Lyla.
"You guys! You did not have to do this" she said
"Oh please, its your first baby, well babies and everyone first time mom deserves a big baby shower" Tara said.
Happy came and kissed her. "Ok babe, im going out back with the guys"
As Happy was walking out he noticed the cake box. "Save me a piece of cake" he yelled heading out.
Lyla and Tara looked at each other and laughed. Lyla leaned in and whispered. "Ya the boobs" they both laughed.
The party went perfect. Lyla had fun and got a LOT of stuff for the babies.
"Ok let's hear the names." Lyla said.
"Well for a boy its Demetri Allen, and for our girl Delilah Mariam." She said
Everyone loved the names. After a few more minutes Lyla decided it was cake time. She was in the kitchen getting it prepared when some of the guys walked into get a beer. Lyla didn't realize Happy walked up.
"What the hell?" Happy asked.
"Oh shit, sorry Happy you weren't supposed to see that" Lyla said chuckling.
"Really babe?" Opie asked.
"What, its nothing but women in there besides you cant see anything anyway." She said
"Whats going on?" Lexi asked
Happy pointed to the cake.
"OH MY GOD" Lexi said
Lyla and Tara laughed.
Lexi started laughing. "Why am I not surprised. Let me guess, Lyla got the cake"
"Your truly, ok now that you have seen it, lets dig in" Lyla said.
While she was cutting the cake Jax came running in. "Um Happy I just got a call from Colorado Springs PD"
Lexi walked over holding her stomach. "What?"
"Apparently James is out of a coma, he seems to be almost back to normal" He explained
Lexi started breathing hard. Happy went over to her. "Its ok Lex, that fucker will not get anywhere near our family, Jax, he's still there right?" He asked
Jax nodded. "They said he is still there, at his brothers. They will give us updates. We will get the nomads up there. Keep an eye on him."
Happy nodded. "Thanks brother"
"Im sorry guys, im getting really tired. I should go. Thank you so much for everything." Before anyone could hug her she walked out the door. Happy thanked everyone and followed her out.
He got in the car. "Lexi, look at me."
She looked into his eyes.
"You have to trust me. He will NOT get anywhere near you or Demetri or Delilah."
Lexi smiled. "I love it when you say their names." She said. "It makes it...real." She said looking down feeling her stomach. Happy reached over to kiss her when he felt a few kicks. "Ok ok lets get you 3 home." He said
That next Wednesday, Lexi was 1 day away from her maternity leave and 3 weeks from giving birth. As she made her rounds she thought about how much she would miss her job. It was bitter sweet. She decided to work a little late. 8 o clock rolled around and she sent a text to Happy letting him know she was on her way home. She was walking to her car when she thought she heard foot steps. Then everything went black.
A little while later Jax and Tara were just getting to bed when the door bell rang.
"What time is it?" Tara asked.
"Almost 9:30" Jax answered. They both went to see who it was.
"Its Happy" Jax said as he opened the door.
Happy ran inside frantic. "Something happened."
"Is it the babies? Are they in the hospital? Ill call Neeta." Tara said as she turned to go get her phone.
"NO!" Happy said getting her attention. "Shes gone"
"What do you mean?" Tara asked
"She messaged me at 8 said she was on her way home. When it got to be 8:45 i figured she stayed longer but she didn't answer her phone, i went to the hospital and her car was still there but she wasn't and her bag and phone were on the ground next to her car" Happy then started to hyperventilate with his fist balled up.
Jax went up to him and grabbed his shoulders. "Hap you have to listen to me. Look at me, breath."
Happy closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"We will find them." Jax said.
Happy another breath and nodded.
Tara called Neeta to come be with the kids while Jax called the nomads and Colorado springs PD.
"Ok thank you." Jax hung up the phone. "They are sending troops to inspect the house and property. The nomads never saw him leave. He must have known he was being watched, ill call the guys to meet us at the club house." Jax said
"Ill go get dressed." Tara said. "Neeta is here."
"Tara babe you should stay.." Jax started
"She is my best friend Jax and those babies aunt. Don't you dare tell me I should stay here."
Jax sighed and nodded.
They got around and made it to the clubhouse. The guys were all there.
"Chapel now!" Jax said
Tara and Happy stood behind Jax while he addressed the club.
"Ok, Juice what do we know about this guy?"
"He was a contractor. A real piece of work though. Had one other girlfriend before Lexi. Put her in the hospital twice. Her name was Scarlette Jones. She disappeared 6 months before him and Lexi got together. He was exonerated of all charges due to lack of evidence connecting him to her dissaperence. Then when he was with Lexi he... " Juice stopped and looked at Happy.
"Its fine, keep going." Happy said.
"He put her in the hospital. Broke 4 ribs and her wrist."
BAM! Happy punched the wall then started to pace.
"Ok, so what about his brother." Jax said
"His name is Drew Wallace. I should have credentials in about 5 minutes." Juice said.
"Ok after we get that information we go check out her car and the surroundings. See of they left anything behind. Check the hospital security cameras." Jax said.
"I got it!" Juice said loudly. "Holy shit Jax."
"What?" Happy said running over to look at the computer screen along with Jax and Tara.
Juice pointed to the picture. "Thats Drew when he was here in Charming and..."
"Bailee" Tara said. "Who is that standing behind them. Can you zoom in? Looks like a women holding a blond wig in her hand."
Juice zoomed in and fixed the clarity.
"Oh my god" Tara said. "Its..."
Jax turned to Happy. "Gemma"
