*JULY 31 1991*

The Potter's manor was decorated to celebrate the birthdays of Harry and Neville. It'd been a long time since the families met. The Potters and the Longbottoms decided to celebrate their kids' birthdays at the manor. The Weasleys, the Prewetts, the Dearborns, the Bones were gathered at the manor. The manor was bustling with kids and, the elders who were happy to have gathered after long years.

Fabian and Dorcas Prewett with their two kids, Maeliana (9) and Allister (7).

Gideon and Marlene Prewett with their two kids, Gaela (7) and Adrian (5).

Emmeline and Caradoc Dearborn with their twins, Evika and Caiden (6).

Edgar and Olivia Bones with their three kids, Geffron (15), Bernita (14), Jerelyn (13).

Molly and Arthur with Percy (14), Fred and George (13), Ron (11) and Ginny (9).

After dinner, the children were left to be on their own and have fun in the manor. The men gathered in the living room and the women in the kitchen, reminiscing the old days, talking business and about everything they can. Most of the families went into hiding at the heights of the war. Though the war ended a long time ago, they did not meet up for a really long time because Voldemort's followers were still out there, hunting for the Order. Letters and their workplaces became so precious.

Alice and Lily stayed hidden for almost 4 years. Dorcas and Marlene disguised themselves when they conceived. Things were so dangerous back then, they never forgot how each day went by.

The men had really hard time too, protecting their families. Especially their new borns. They had to constantly look over their shoulder to make sure they stay alive.

The kids ran around the manor, chasing each other. Harry took them to his play room, so the younger kids could play. However, the older ones who're already attending Hogwarts, chose the huge library. Geffron, Bernita and Percy to read new and rare books, and Jerelyn, Fred and George to find new spells to prank students.

On the other side, Harry was giving Neville and Ron a tour of the manor.

"Bloody hell, Harry! This place is huge!" marvelled Ron.

"I haven't yet explored this whole place yet," Harry said. "I wanted to explore with you both."

"We moved back to the Longbottom's estate too," Neville said. "I'm not sure I like that place, yet."

"Why did your parents take you into hiding anyway?" Ron asked. "We stayed at the Burrow the whole time! Dad said we had enough protection so we didn't have to go into hiding."

"My parents never told me much about it," Neville shrugged. "I spent most of the time with my gran. Sometimes they didn't come home for a whole week. Told it was business."

"I understand," Harry nodded. "Mum and dad were always with me. But Padfoot, Moony and Wormtail went out for business. Whatever that was."

"I heard stories from Bill and Charlie. They sounded horrible. Aunt Dorcas and Aunt Marlene flew to France for almost two years. My uncles spent Easter and Christmas with us then."

"Harry, who is she?" Neville walked over to a photograph on the wall. "I've seen her before..." he mumbled.

It was a huge moving photograph of Kitty, Sirius, Remus, Peter, James and Lily, playing with fireworks.

"You've seen her before?!" Harry asked surprised. "That's my aunt Kitty... Katherine. Where did you see her?"

"In my parent's photo album," Neville replied. "She was with my uncle Jacob."

"Your uncle Jacob?"

"Yeah, he died during the war," Neville said slowly.

"I've seen her too!!!" Ron jumped. "There was a photograph of her at my place too. Mum told me she gifted me a colour changing jumper for my first birthday. The colour changed according to my mood," Ron grinned. "It was cool. I still have it."

"Oh, really? I don't remember anything about her," Harry said staring at the picture.

"What do you mean you don't remember her?" Ron asked.

"What's wrong, Harry?" Neville looked at him, concerned.

"Mum and dad told me she didn't spend much time with me because she was away most of the time," Harry shrugged.

"Who was away most of the time?" a voice interrupted them.

"And what mischief are you up to?" Another voice piped in.

"We are not upto any mischief," Ron replied. "Fred! George! Do you remember her?" Ron pointed at the picture.

Fred and George walked over to them.

"That's Kitty," Fred grinned.

"One hell of a woman," George sported a similar grin.

"You know her?" Harry asked.

"Who doesn't?" Fred laughed.

"We've heard stories about her from Bill and Charlie, who heard from my uncles," George said.

"They say she gave the dark wizards and the aurors a run for their money."

"Harry says he doesn't remember her much because she was away," Ron told his brothers.

"What do you mean she was away?" Fred frowned.

"She practi—"

"Fred! George!" Jerelyn interrupted them. "Look what I found!" She waved a book. "You have to check these spells!" She was grinning.

"Careful with the book!" Fred gasped.

"It's fragile," George finished.

"What are you up to?" Ron asked. "Don't tell me it's another prank. Mum would go mental."

"We won't be doing magic here, silly."

"We don't wish to get punished."

"These are some friendly spells."

"Yeah, friendly," Ron scoffed.

Fred, George and Jerelyn hurried back into the library.

"We should watch out for Fred and George at Hogwarts," Neville mumbled.

"Let's go play a game of Exploding Snap, shall we?" Ron asked.

The trio joined the others in the playroom.

Geffron took a break from reading and decided to get something to eat. Lost in his thoughts, he took a wrong turn and ended up before Kitty's room. He looked around. No one was there.

"Katherine Potter," he mumbled. "Why are there different stories about her?" He touched the cold knob of the door and turned it. The door didn't open. He tried a few more times.

"Don't sweat. It won't open."

He turned around to see Sirius walking lazily over to him.

"Geffron!" Percy and Bernita were behind him.

"Uh... I .. got lost," Geffron told Sirius.

Sirius nodded. "Off you go now."

Geffron nodded and walked past him. But he stopped in his tracks and turned to Sirius.

"Mr. Black?"

"Yes, Geffron."

Geffron hesitated for a moment. But chose to ask. "Who is she?"

Sirius raised his eyebrows. "Who is she? She's James' sister."

"No, I know that. I'm asking who she actually is. You see, there are different stories about her. Most of the people in the Wizarding world say she was...uh ...she was a ..."

"She was a powerful and a dangerous dark witch?" Sirius finished for him.

Geffron nodded. "We read about the First Wizarding war at school."

"And what did the books say?" Sirius asked.

"The books don't clearly say anything," Percy answered.

"The books mention the good deeds she'd done and...and also the things that were against the ministry. The books conclude her as a grey character. My friends and the people I know, they say she's is a dark witch who tried to take over the Wizarding world like You-Know-Who and the Ministry had to fight them both. We heard she even went against Dumbledore."

"But my family doens't agree though," Bernita said.

"Mine too," Percy said.

"Really? What do they say?" Sirius asked in return.

"Dad says that's all rubbish," Percy replied.

"They say she's a powerful witch. And a really good person," Bernita added.

"She was a good person," Percy nodded. "I met her a few times."

"So, Mr. Black. Who is she?" Geffron asked again.

Sirius laughed. "Before I answer your question, I want to ask you.. who do you think she is?"

"I don't know," he shrugged.

"No, you know."

There was a moment of silence. They both stared at each other.

"I think... I think she was a good person. I just —"

"You asked me because you were confused why the whole Wizarding community is painting her as a dark witch except your family. And they asked you to not talk or discuss about her to anyone."

The kids nodded.

"Your family isn't wrong. She was a good person. A bit cranky too. Actually... Not a bit... a lot."

The kids laughed.

"Your books and the people, they weren't completely lying when ther say she went against the Ministry and Dumbledore. She did. But there were reasons for it," Sirius explained. "And you might know them later maybe...your parents wouldn't want me to tell you kids these. Now... Off you go."

"Another question!"

"You've got many questions, Geffron."

"Last one, I swear."

"Go on then."

"Doesn't Harry know anything? I heard the kids talk earlier. They mentioned Harry doesn't remember anything about her. But ...how can that be? He is the Boy Who Lived!! He was the last person to see her alive!"

Sirius hesitated to answer. He looked around. "Geffron," Sirius said slowly. "Some questions better stay unanswered. Let every mystery unravel in its own time. Now, don't let Harry hear you say this. He doesn't know he's the Boy Who Lived."

"But he'll know when he starts school," Percy said.

"He will," Sirius nodded. "James and Lily would explain things he needs to know. So, if you're done, I'd like you to join the rest of the kids."

The kids nodded and walked back to the library.

The families slowly started to leave one after the other, promising to meet up at Diagon Alley to buy the school supplies. James invited the kids to the manor so they could spend more time together playing quidditch or doing whatever they like. Lily and James didn't want Harry to feel alone for a whole month before school starts.

After they all left, it was just the Potters and the Marauders. They were all helping Lily in cleaning and putting things away.

"Mum?" Harry said quietly.

"Yes, darling?" Lily answered not looking at him.

"Did you lie to me?"

Lily stopped doing everything and turned to him. "Lie about what, love?"

Harry hesitated for a moment. "About aunt Kityy."

Lily was taken aback. She wasn't expecting this discussion soon. "Let's go and talk," she sighed and took Harry to the living room where the Marauders are. "James, let's have a talk with Harry."

The Marauders shared glances.

"We'll be upstairs," Remus nodded. He understood the situation. He was expecting this discussion.

"Call..if you need us," Sirius said.

And the three left the Potters alone.

"Harry, come," Lily made him sit in the armchair. She and James sat infront of him.

"Harry, there are certain things we haven't told you about. We intend to tell you...we were just waiting for the right time," James started.

Harry nodded. "Am I the Boy who lived? What does that mean?"

"Harry, where did you hear that?! Who told you that?" Lily aske taken aback. Her heart was pounding so hard.

James and Lily were both thrown off with this simple question. They were expecting questions but definitely not this.

"Earlier, we were playing Hide and Seek with the others," Harry started to explain. "Ron, Neville and I hid in Padfoot's room. We heard Padfoot talking to Geffron, Bernita and Percy. They talked about aunt Kitty. And... Geffron asked Padfoot why I couldn't remember her because... I am the Boy Who Lived and was the last person to see her alive. I asked Ron and Neville about it and they don't know anything about it either."

James and Lily looked at each other.

"Harry," Lily said softly, leaning closer to him. Her eyes were welling up. "We're sorry."

"Mum? Why are you crying?" Harry looked confused. "I.. I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have asked."

"No.. no, Harry," James shook his head. "We were planning on talking to you about this."

"Kitty loved you so much," Lily smiled through tears. "Years ago, on the day she d...she left us all, she was baby sitting you. It was valentine's day and dad wanted to take me out for dinner. She said she'd baby sit you because she was tired and wanted to stay home."

"You see," James continued. "Voldemort was hunting down us all and we had to go into hiding. After you were born, mum and I didn't go out of home much. We felt like we're trapped. You were almost 3, and she told us she could handle you. She persuaded us to go on a date. So, we did. So, dad and her were looking after you. We don't know what and how it happened. Voldemort attacked and killed them both. He tried to kill you too. But you survived, with that mark," James pointed at a coin sized star shaped mark on the left side of his neck.

Harry's eyes widened in disbelief. He touched his mark . "I survived? How?" He asked bewildered.

"Kitty...we think she used some powerful, old magic which Voldemort didn't see coming."

"Powerful, old magic?"

"She...she sacrificed herself trying to save you, invoking a powerful protection."

"What ...what kind of magic?"

"Love," Lily smiled, wiping her tears.

"Love?!" Harry was more confused. He looked from Lily to James.

"Yes, love. You might not be able to understand all this. But when you grow older, you will," she smiled.

Harry nodded. "What happened to them?"

James shrugged. "Disappeared. Both Kitty and Voldemort. Never found thier bodies."

"How... How can they disappear??!!!" Tears filled his eyes.

"We don't know, love," Lily hugged him.

"But," Harry sniffled. "You still think Voldemort is not dead?"

"We believe so," James nodded. "We believe he lost his powers and is out there.. biding his time.. waiting for his followers to find him."

"But ...why do you think she is gone forever?" Harry was confused. "If Voldemort has disappeared, so should Kitty. If the body isn't found, then she must me alive. Maybe as powerless as Voldemort!"

"We have this magical connection, a bond ...with her. If she is alive, we'd know. We've searched everywhere for her. She wouldn't leave us just like that. She doesn't turn her back on her family," James explained.

Harry still looked skeptical. "But...but why can't I remember anything about her?"

James and Lily looked at each other.

"Oh, Harry. We're really sorry," Lily wiped her tears. "We know we shouldn't have done that but we had no choice," she sobbed into James's chest.

Harry didn't understand why his mum was crying and why his dad looked a bit scared.

"Harry," James said calmly. "Kitty and you were really close. But after that terrible night, you wouldn't sleep and wake up crying in the middle of the nights. You were having nightmares and you would cry for her. So," James paused. He was searching for words. " So, we did what we thought was the best for you. We had to take your memories away."

Silence filled the air. Harry was in utter shock for the first time in his life and he couldn't understand what to do.

"You... You erased my memories?" He asked slowly.

"No, honey," Lily shook her head. "We just took them away from you and we stored them carefully. We thought we'd give them to you once you get older and are ready."

"You stopped having nightmares after we took away your memories," James added.

James and Lily were young. They weren't sure how to deal with this situation at all. But they took it slow. And looking at Harry not making a fuss of it and trying to understand, they realised they were doing okay.

Harry didn't say anything. He just sat in silence for few seconds or maybe minutes.

"Harry, we're sorry," Lily said slowly.

"No, don't be," Harry gave a weak smile. He wiped his tears with his sleeves and wiped Lily's tears too. "You did what you thought was the best."

The Potters hugged each other tight, as James ruffled Harry's hair.

"I know it's too much to take," Harry said finally. "But, when can I get my memories back?"

James and Lily exchanged glances.

"Harry—"

"Not all the memories," Harry said. "Just the good ones. I think I should have them. You said she died protecting me. It would be a shame to forget her."

Lily and James smiled.

"Tomorrow," Lily held Harry's cheek and looked into his bright green eyes, which were identical to hers. "Tomorrow after breakfast."

"Thank you," Harry smiled brightly. "I'll go to bed, now. I think I'm exhausted."

"Sure," Lily nodded.

Harry got to his feet and hugged Lily and James tight. "Thank you for everything. It might have been hard for you all. I love you."

Tears rolled down James' face.

Harry walked away without looking at them. He was in a deep shock from everything he heard that day and it was really hard to process everything. He walked to Sirius' room where the rest of the Marauders were anxiously waiting for James.

Harry opened the door.

"Prongs! How—"

"Harry?" They three said in unison.

They were expecting James, but their little prongslet walked in. Harry hugged all the three of them. "Thank you. Thank you so much. I love you," he said quickly and left the room.

Sirius, Remus and Peter stood there in shock, glancing at each other.

"What did just happen?" Peter broke the silence.

"He's taking it well," Remus replied. "Sort of..."

"It's better than what we expected, eh?" Sirius took a deep breath.

Millions of thoughts ran through Harry's mind. He didn't know where to start. He always thought that the oddly star shaped mark on his neck was a birth mark and not something related to magic. Harry tried to remember his times with Kitty, but he couldn't. He recollected the conversation between Sirius, Geffron, Bernita and Percy. He knew there is more to the story than his parents and uncles were letting him know. He turned to looked at the dark night sky. Stars were twinkling. "Thank you, Kitty," he whispered, as he drifted off.

The next day, Harry woke up early, made his bed, dressed up and went downstairs and even started making breakfast for the elders.

Peter was first to wake up.

"Harry?!!" Peter asked surprised as he entered the kitchen. "What are you doing?"

"Oh! Uncle Wormtail! Come, I've made you breakfast," Harry grinned.

"Breakfast?" Peter smiled. "Alright! What's on the menu?"

"We've got eggs and toast," Harry grinned, setting a plate infront of Peter.

"Well, thank you," Peter said taking a bite. "Tastes good. But let's make something more, shall we? The others would be hungry. Sit, I'll make some pancakes."

Peter quickly starting making pancakes as Harry nibbled on his toast and eggs.

"So, why are you up early?" Peter asked casually.

"Mum said she'd let me have my memories back. Of aunt Kitty and I," Harry grinned.

"You must be excited?"

"Very much. I'm nervous too."

Slowly the rest of the members woke up. Except Sirius. He slept in. Lily and James weren't surprised to see Harry up early.

Soon after breakfast, Peter went out to get some work done at the Ministry and Remus to their store.

James and Lily took Harry to Fleamont's study.

"What are we doing in granddad's study?" Harry asked, looking around curiously.

James opened a secret door to a small chamber. He went in and brought out a silver pensieve and a large wooden box.

"What is this?" Harry asked observing the strange runes on the pensieve. It was filled with silvery liquid-gas.

"This is a pensieve," Lily replied.

"And here are your memories," James opened the box with a flick of his wand. There were some tens of vials with labels that were glowing silvery bright.

"There are a lot," Harry looked surprised.

"Now, it might take a lot of time to go through all these and take everything in. So, let us take this slow?" Lily rubbed his shoulders.

Harry took a deep sigh and nodded. "How should I do this?"

"We are doing this together," James smiled. "These vials contains memories. And when these are put in the pensieve, we can all revisit these memories."

"But first, we need to remove the spell we put on you to forget about these memories," Lily took her wand and crouched down to Harry's eye level. She looked at James and he nodded. "You ready?" She asked Harry.

"I am," he nodded.

"You need to relax completely. Keep your mind calm and empty," Lily said.

Both James and Lily pointed their wands at Harry's head and mumbled under their breaths. Harry closed his eyes tight and relaxed.

A golden streak of light shot out of their wands and Harry felt his head grow warmer. A few seconds later, his body grew warmer. He felt something unfolding in his body. He wasn't sure what it was. But, it felt good. The feeling stopped after a few seconds. He felt confused for no reason.

"Alright then, let's go with the earliest memory," James opened a vial and pulled out silvery strands and they fell gracefully into the Pensieve, where they swirled into the silvery white liquid-gas.

"Now," James and Lily held his hands, and they are got closer to the basin. The moment they touched the tip of the silvery substance, Harry felt like they were sucked into an icy cold dark whirlpool.

They fell into an unfamiliar room. Harry looked around. Lily was on the bed, holding a bundle in her hands and smiling from ear to ear.

"This is the night you were born," Lily smiled, looking at her younger self.

"You need to rest." Harry heard an unfamiliar voice and whipped his head.

Kitty was standing at the door, smiling. She had bruises on her face that were fading away. Her hair was tied in a pony, and she was wearing an oversized T-shirt and jeans.

"Kitty! You came!" Lily (younger) looked surprised.

"Now, that hurts," Kitty walked over to Lily. "Is he sleeping?"

"You look bad," Lily(y) commented.

"I've looked worse," Kitty scoffed, hugging Lily. "Now," she leaned in over to see baby Harry. A warm smile crept on her face. "He's beautiful."

"Wanna hold him?" Lily (y) asked.

"I'd love to," she nodded. She gently slid her arms around baby Harry and took him in her arms.

Little Harry snuggled in closer to her chest.

"He's cute," Kitty smiled. "I really hope he doesn't open his eyes, see my face. I don't wanna scare the kid."

"Nah! All they see is black, white and grey," Lily (y) said. "And their vision wouldn't be that good. Don't worry."

"Right," Kitty nodded, gently swaying.

"How's Alice?"

"They're safe. Jacob is with them. Boy, Neville is...a bit like Alice. Stubborn. Seems like he gave her a bit of hard time," Kitty chuckled.

"Ah! Frank must've gone bonkers," Lily nodded.

"Jake told me he looked like he was walking on egg shells all day."

"Well," Lily sighed. "It's waaaaayy better than fainting."

Kitty laughed. "Honestly, I expected him to faint. He doesn't disappoint."

"Come on!" a voice interrupted them. "Stop teasing the man!"

Harry quickly turned to the doorway.

A younger Sirius was leaning on the door. His hair for some reason…was long and blond.

Harry was quite surprised. He never saw a blond Sirius.

"Stop eavesdropping!" Kitty rolled her eyes.

"Come on in! Why are you standing over there?" Lily smiled.

Sirius reached them two ling strides. He was grinning from ear to ear. "He's... he's so cute," his voice cracked.

"Are you crying?" Lily and Kitty asked in unison.

"Noooooo...I'm not!!!" Sirius wiped his tears. "It's just... he's so cuuutte!"

Lily and Kitty snickered.

"Do you wanna hold him?" Kitty asked.

Sirius' face lit up. He looked like an excited puppy as Kitty gently put Harry in his arms..

Sirius didn't say a word. He just kept looking at Harry.

Moments later, James walked in, and put his hands on Sirus and Kitty.

"So... listen," he cleared his throat and looked at Lily.

"Mmmhmm?" Kitty and Sirius were busy with Harry, they didn't look at James.

"Lily and I were wondering...if you both...umm... Would be Harry's godparents?"

"Yeah, sure," Kitty and Sirius responded in unison.

James and Lily exchanged glances. Both their responses were normal as if they haven't heard them clearly.

"Wait. What?" Sirius snapped his head. He was looking confused.

"We what?" Kitty realised the same.

They both were in a state of shock.

James and Lily burst out laughing, leaving Kitty and Sirius looking like fools.

"Would be like to be Harry's godparents?" James repeated.

"I..." Sirius trailed off.

"I...I knew Sirius is going to be a godfather...but —"

"You knew?!!!!" Sirius turned to Kitty. He clearly can't believe his ears.

She nodded. "But me????!!! Stop crying, Black!"

"I'm not," Sirius sniffled.

James and Lily were laughing.

"Yes, you," Lily replied. "I know you both can't even take care of yourselves. But —"

"Exactly my point," Kitty cut her off.

"But you take better care of the people you love," Lily finished.

"I ...I...I...I'd —" Kitty was at loss for words.

"Be honoured," Sirius finished for her.

"Yeah... honoured... So... What...what...does a godparent do?" She was still confused.

"You take care of the kid, ofcourse!" Sirius replied.

"Yeah... right!"

"Why do you look soooo lost?" James laughed looking at the pair.

"You're supposed to do what you're best at," Lily said. "Love and protect Harry," she smiled.

"I still can't wrap my head around this...but I promise I will," Kitty replied.

"Me too. I'm gonna be the best godfather," Sirius grinned.

The scenes changed. Harry found most of them funny.

"Oh my goodness!!! Blaacckk!!!!"

"What?!?!" Sirius came running, with wand in his hand.

"I think he pooped!" Kitty panicked.

Little Harry was giggling.

"Pryde, humans are supposed to poop? Look at him! He's sooo happy!"

"Yeah! Change the diaper, please..."

"What??!!" Sirius looked utterly shocked.

"I might've changed a diaper once...my niece..it wasn't a pleasant experience."

"Changing diapers are never a pleasant experience, Pryde," Sirius rolled his eyes.

"I'm sensitive to smells. You know that," Kitty scrunched her nose.

"Are you a witch or not?! You can just vanish it!"

"Yeah... But what if I vanish something else by mistake?"

Kitty and Sirius stared at Harry who was giggling non stop.

"I think I might've got a spell book somewhere," Sirius rushed to get the book and returned in a jiffy. "What would you do when you have kids?"

"Dude, I don't wanna have kids. I have Harry. Plus, I can't call you everytime to change diapers."

"You're hopeless," Sirius shook his head as he vanished the dirty diaper.

The three Potters laughed at them.

"Merlin, Harry. You look so unbothered," Lily laughed.

"They're both hopeless," Harry laughed.

The scenes changed.

Kitty played with Harry.

Took Harry to parks and other places, in disguise.

Helped Harry ride his toy broomstick.

Put Harry to sleep.

Sang and danced with him.

They were so many memories and Harry felt his cheeks hurt from grinning and laughing the whole time. He felt a sense of warmth in his heart reminiscing all those memories.

"Let us call it a day, shall we?" James said finally.

Harry nodded.

In seconds, they were back in the study.

"So, what you think?" James asked Harry.

"I'm starting to remember few memories," Harry replied. "They're in pieces. But these memories are... Pleasant. She is fun."

This happened for the next two days. Each night Harry missed her more.

"So, that's all the memories of you and Kitty," James stretched his body as they got back to the study.

"But...dad... I think there is another one left," Harry looked confused.

James and Lily exchanged glances.

"They told me I was the last person to see her alive?" Harry's curiosity and nervousness was taking the better of him.

"Honey," Lily crouched down to his eye level. "That...is for some other time. Even your memory was distorted. So, we'll show you when the time is right. Alright?"

Harry looked at his parents. "Sure," he nodded. "Thank you for these."
