Chapter 4 – A really good friend

POV Legoshi

My head hurt. My head hurt pretty badly and I felt sick. It was much too hot and much too bright as well. I was looking against a wall when I woke up, and on this wall was something that was cut out from the school newspaper. I took a closer look and noticed that it was the article about the second grim-reaper performance. The photos of Louis, Bill and me were on it as well.

When I slowly turned my head into the opposite direction, trying to save my eyes from the bright sunlight with my paws, I suddenly was greeted by a lot of excited female giggling.

"Good morning, Romeo" the female Sheppard told me in amusement. She must have been waiting for me to wake up, because she seemed to be pretty close to the bed. When my eyes slowly got used to the brightness, I noticed that she was by far not alone. There were a female grey wolf, a female Doberman and female Dalmatian as well, and they all seemed really excited. I´ve never met them before, but they must have opened the curtain of the bed to wake me up on purpose.

"Uhm…" I said lowly, "…where am I, what happened?"

That just made them giggle even more and grin even wider. I took another look around and just now realized in great shock that this wasn´t my dorm. "I don't have that newspaper front-page on my wall, why would I hang this up? Why would anybody hang this up? Why do they keep staring at me, who were they?"

I moved my right arm a little and noticed something pretty heavy when I tried pushing the surprisingly soft duvet a little further away.

The blood immediately froze in my veins. I haven't been sleeping alone in this bed. "Juno!" it came into my mind, "This must be her dorm!"

I looked at the other girls once again in total shock now. They must be her roommates I figured.

"Shit! I don't remember anything! Did I just end up in her bed or did we actually do anything last night?"

I took a quick look down my body and realized why they all were staring all this time. I was completely nude. My clothes weren't even in reach, not even my boxer shorts.

"Oh no…" I said while quickly covering my privates with my hands, "I´m…I´m s-sorry."

They just giggled even more about this. I was so ashamed about that right now, but realizing what that all meant was by far worse actually.

"…she was right, he is quite handsome, isn´t he?" one of them asked with a dirty grin.

I took another quick look at Juno right now, ignoring their comments for a moment. She was still asleep soundly, conveniently covered in her duvet with her face resting on the pillow to protect her eyes from the brightness that crashed through the window.

Then I noticed that my crotch felt really sticky and kind of dirty under my hands. This was just getting worse.
"Wh-what happened last night?" I asked them once again. My heart was beating really fast in the meanwhile.

"You honestly don´t remember that?" the black Doberman girl grinned.

"N-no…"I said, "…I really don't remember."

"They must have heard you three rooms down the hallway" she pointed out.

"W-what?" I asked in shock.

"You really were wild in there" the other female wolf agreed with her, "…but goddamn it sounded sexy" she added with a dirty giggle.

I just felt horrible right now. I shouldn´t have drank that much yesterday. I shouldn´t have let her that close yesterday.

It seemed like I had lost my virginity yesterday and I didn't even remember it. On top of that, I didn´t even do it with the girl I was in love with."This can´t be true! They´re just messing around with me! Why wouldn't I remember it? This makes no sense!"

I needed to get out of this room as quickly as possible. I wanted to be alone right now.

"Have you seen my clothes anywhere?" I asked them, trying to keep my voice down and not wake up Juno.

"Here, look, they´re scattered all around the room" the Sheppard girl pointed out in amusement.

I little sigh escaped my mouth. They didn´t make any efforts to help me out and pick them up. It seemed like they either wanted to see me suffering or they really enjoyed my uncomfortable situation. What made my situation even worse was that I had to climb over Juno to get out of the bed, and waking her up right now was the last thing I wanted.

"Could you give me at least my underwear, please?" I asked them with a pleading expression, but just as I thought, they didn´t want to make it that easy for me.

"No, I think we deserve to watch you get them yourself after keeping us up last night…"

I just couldn´t believe that girls could be so dirty minded as well. They seemed to be genuinely enjoying this.

I just sighed deeply, taking another begging look at them, but they just kept on shaking their heads with evil smiles.

I needed to get out of here as quickly as possible. There was no other way. This would drive me mad. So I finally did move my hands away from my crotch again and used them to climb over Juno swiftly but carefully. It really was hard work because there was nowhere I could rest myself on, but eventually I managed to get out and didn´t wake her up during that manoeuvre somehow.

But my problems didn´t end there. Those girls didn´t help me out at all. They found it genuinely funny to annoy me right now. They didn´t even move out of the way when I began searching for my clothes on the floor to make it extra difficult for me.

"Gotta say, Romeo" the other female wolf told me in a flirty way, "She wasn´t lying: You really are quite handsome!"

Normally, I would have thanked anybody for a compliment like that, but right now I didn´t feel like it at all. It rather annoyed me that Juno had told them about me.

"Romeo is not my real name you know…" I sighed lowly while finally covering my crotch from their view with my boxers.

"Oh we know it´s not" the black and brown furred Doberman grinned, "…Juno screamed it last night when you tied her…"

"What!?" I asked, now truly shocked once more. It really felt like I was heaving up some sick at this point.

"Oh, and she told us about her crush time and time before…" the Sheppard added with a big smile.

This was just getting worse with every minute.

"You…you´re making that up, right?" I asked nervously, "I didn´t…tie her…did I?"

She just shook her head with a big grin. I was getting a really sick stomach right now and I began sweating again. "Did that really happen last night? Why can´t I remember anything since the improv show?"

"I don't think you can fake an orgasm like that…" the Doberman explained in amusement, "…she sounded like she was on cloud nine there, let me tell you…"

I just covered my face in my paws at this point. They must be messing around with me. I never thought I could be this careless. Why would I do something like that without even considering it twice? "Did we at least think about protection yesterday?"

I had no idea. But something told me they were not lying. I remembered something really intense before falling asleep last night.

"…but you didn´t see it happen, right?" I asked, still hoping there somehow was a possibility it wasn't like that.

"You closed the curtain" she assured with a little smile.

"Sadly" the other wolf girl giggled.

I continued ignoring their giggling and kept on dressing myself. But I couldn't stop shaking my head in displeasure. They just kept making it worse though.

"…those scars on your back, are they-"

"Shit, there was that as well."

"It´s a childhood injury" I lied to make her stop talking as quickly as possible. I couldn´t take any of this right now. I needed to get out of here.

When I had my shoes on as well, I quickly checked myself in the mirror besides their wardrobes and then went for the door.

"You´re leaving already?" one of them asked in slight puzzlement.

I just nodded silently.

"…so this was just another one-night stand for you then?" the other female wolf asked curiously.

"N-no! I…I mean…"

I just didn't know what to tell them right now. They obviously would talk to Juno about all that later. Everything I said now could and probably would fire back at me.

"Gotta go!" I said, before closing the door behind me quickly.

Without giving them the chance to come after me, I went down the hallway towards the staircase. I met a lot more female students in this building, and when they noticed me, quite a lot of them turned their heads after me. Some of them even giggled or chit chatted between each other lowly.

"Had the rumours spread already? Did they know what I did here? Was it because I played Romeo, or maybe just because I was in a building that only housed female students normally?"

No matter what it was in the end, I really hurried to get back into my own dorm right now. I didn´t want to meet anybody who knew me personally and has been at the party yesterday. Not right now.

I needed to be for myself a little while. I didn´t even want to talk to Jack right now, I just wanted to be alone.

POV Jack

I was sitting on my bed and didn't know what to do with myself. Again.

I wasn´t in the mood to continue reading the new manga's I got, I wasn't motivated to get outside into the sun, and my roommates didn't really look like they had a lot of energy either. Especially Durham and Voss looked like they had a major hangover.

We all just were laying around on our beds doing little sighs and noises of misery.

But suddenly, all our ears perked up in great interest. The door to our room was opened with a key, and since all of us but one were here, there was just one possibility:

"Legoshi!" Collot greeted him as the first one, "There you are! Where have you been all night?"

To all our surprise he just sighed about that question very deeply and walked straight past him with a hanging head. He really was in a dark mood right now, and that wasn´t a good sign already.

Collot didn´t let him get away that easily though. He came a little closer and began sniffing on his fur with great interest.

"Hold on!" he snickered then, "That´s not just our regular Legoshi! You also smell like…who could this be?"

Without answering the question, Legoshi dropped his keys onto the matrass of his bed and went straight towards the bathroom.

"Have you been close to somebody last night, Legoshi?" Collot asked him, still highly amused about this.

The grey wolf didn´t answer that either and just closed the door of the bathroom behind him.

"You guys think he got laid last night?" Collot then asked us lowly.

"What, Legoshi?" Durham asked back, "You mean with that wolf girl from the drama club?"

"He really has changed" I sighed, and that quickly got me all their attention.

"What do you mean?"

"Haven´t you seen him at the Halloween party yesterday? He put on quite a show on the stage there, didn´t he?"

"You were there too?" Voss wanted to know, "I thought you didn´t go…"

"I changed my mind. It was really boring alone" I told him.

Luckily, they didn´t ask for more details about that.

"…but Jack is right" Collot agreed, "He seems to be quite popular now that he got a lead role in the drama club…"

"The thing is, he is not in love with the wolf-girl playing Juliet…" I explained with a little sigh, "But Juno has a big crush on him. He´s in love with somebody totally different. I just really hope he didn´t do something stupid last night…"

"But that would explain his mood right now, wouldn´t it?" Miguno pointed out.

I couldn´t deny that he had a point there. If nothing happened, he wouldn´t be in that mood right now.

That left all of us thinking and listening for a moment. I heard that he had the water of the shower running already, so it wouldn't take him too long to get back out of the bathroom again.

"Oh Legoshi" I thought to myself, "What have you done?"

POV Juno

"Girls! She´s awake!" I heard somebody giggle when I lifted my head off my pillow slowly.

It was really bright in my room, I had a slight headache and I was really thirsty. But my bed smelled nice and therefore I felt quite comfortable. My view fell onto the wall with the newspaper and I immediately remembered what happened last night. For a moment I just felt pure happiness.

But then I realized that he wasn´t on the matrass besides me anymore.

"Juno!" Sara the Sheppard greeted me excitedly.

I turned towards her with a happy little smile and noticed that she wasn´t the only one coming towards my bed right now. My entire dorm seemed to be curious. "Did they notice us last night? Oh god, why are they all grinning like that?"

"…your lover-boy left already…" Vera, the other wolf-girl from my dorm explained.

"Did…did you hear us last night?" I asked in shock.

That made them nod and giggle even more.

"The entire hallway must have heard you…"

"Oh god!"

"Sounded like you were enjoying yourselves" the Doberman-girl Kin grinned.

I felt so ashamed right now. "How could I not think about that yesterday? Why did we have to go into my dorm for that?"

"Don't worry, there is no need to be ashamed" Ichika the Dalmatian told me, "Sounded so hot to be honest. And Romeo really is handsome too! Such a big strong wolf! You two look so good together!"

"Right?" Vera asked with a shameless giggle.

"Did we leave the curtain open?" I asked, still in total disbelief about all this.

"No, you didn´t" Sara told me with a re-assuring little smile, "But you surely kept us up for a little while…"

"Oh god! How did we not notice them yesterday?"

"When did he leave?" I wanted to know.

"He woke up half an hour earlier than you. He was all nude because you had the blanket…" Kin giggled, "We watched him dress himself and then he left without losing a lot of words."

I just nodded understandingly. I never expected any of that to happen yesterday. Now I just realized that all that probably never would have happened without the rabbit-blood in my fur. He maybe could never forgive himself for that in the end. From his point of view, this probably was one of the biggest mistakes he could´ve made. My mood immediately dropped thinking about that now.

"So…it really was just a one-night-stand?" Vera asked curiously, "…not a flamboyant love story between Romeo and Juliet?"

That question made me feel even more sick in my stomach. How can they be so cruel to me? Wasn´t it obvious that I was in love with him? "Who does she think she is?"

"No, it was not just a one-night-stand!" I told her harshly.

"What was it then?" she wanted to know.

"He´s just…I…"

I couldn't answer that question right now, sadly. But there was no point in denying it, and that drove me even more mad right now. "This is so unfair!"

I couldn´t take them staring at me anymore either, I didn´t want to hear any further word. So I closed the curtain of my bed for now and just ignored them. I´ve heard them giggling and chit chatting a little more about this, but then it seemed like they went on with their own business as well.

I searched for my phone and unlocked it in the meanwhile. The first thing it showed was a chat I had opened with somebody called "Sam". Bill´s girlfriend and I must have exchanged numbers last night. God how much have we been drinking? Her last unread reply to me was:

"Yeah yeah, just a little scratch…" /

"Oh no!"

I had sent her a picture of Legoshi laying on my matrass. It just showed the back of his head and his upper back, but the huge scars on his back were clearly visible.

"Shit! Why did I send her that?" I asked myself in panic, "Half the school will see that photo now! What have I done?"

I thought about erasing that picture from our conversation, but then I realized that it was by far too late for that. It was on her phone now and there was nothing I could do about it. Except for asking her nicely.

JUNO:

"Please delete that photo.

This could get us into big trouble

if the wrong people see it!" /

SAM:

"Don't worry. Just wanted to show

Bill what he did to him." /

JUNO:

"Thank you! I trust you with this!" /

SAM:

"Don't worry about it, babe!" /

"How was it by the way?

Is Romeo good in bed?" /

I just answered that last question with a little smiley for now. I really hoped Samantha would keep her word and not spread this photo between her friends. If Legoshi finds out about this, that could put me into really big trouble. It could put the both of us in really big trouble.

"Goddamn what a way to start a new day!"

I still smelled like him. My whole bed smelled like him. And although it was a really pleasant smell, I really felt like taking a shower right now.

"Why was life so unfair to me?" I asked myself again in resignation, "Why can´t he just be in love with me as well? Everything would be so much easier!"

POV Jack

It seemed to be even worse than I thought. Legoshi got back from his showers with only a towel around his waist. He never did that, normally. He always took his fresh clothing into the bathroom with him.

Now he just went towards his bed, undid the towel and put on his boxer shorts while everybody kept watching him.

"Okay…" Durham chuckled, "I guess that´s what´s called: ´all out of fucks to give´…"

"Got nothing to hide, do you?" Collot

"I think being the lead actor in the drama club got into his head a little" Voss chuckled.

"He even has a shirtless scene in the performance…" Miguno shared.

That actually got his attention for a moment.

"Where do you know that from?" he wanted to know.

"There is a lot of gossip talk about you, you know?" thy hyena chuckled, "Especially after you destroyed the stage like that yesterday…"

He just nodded understandingly, before he carefully laid himself down onto the matrass of his bed.

"…I´ve even heard people talking about you having chances becoming the new Beastar…" Collot explained.

"What really?" I asked. The others haven't heard about that yet either, apparently.

"I´ve heard people talking yesterday…" he affirmed with a shrug of his shoulders.

Legoshi wasn´t too jazzed about hearing that either, predictably. Judging by his expression, he was in the darkest mood he´s been in since quite a while.

"Come on, Legoshi" Collot chuckled, "Don't leave us hanging there, what happened last night?"

"I was very drunk and did something very stupid" he told us plainly, before he closed the curtain behind himself, "Please leave me alone."

POV Bill (5pm in the afternoon)

"You think he´s coming?" Aoba asked with quite a bit of doubt in his voice.

"He has to come" I said, "This is not something you can volunteer for, we need those photos for the premiere-posters!"

I took another look at the already prepared set for the photo-shooting which the art-department had built, then I turned back towards the door to the hallway again.

"Has anybody seen Juno yet?" Els wondered, "It´s unlike her to be late…"

"Legoshi has never been late before either" Kai reminded us, "He´s here by far too early usually."

Just a few moments later, Juno came through the door hectically.

"Sorry I´m late" she said while joining us. First thing I noticed was that she wasn´t by far as enthusiastic as she was normally. Her mood actually made me think twice about winking her right now. Something definitely must have happened last night, but she didn´t seem too happy about it.

"Well, you look motivated as well…" Aoba chuckled tiredly.

"I´m sorry. I still have a really bad headache" she muttered lowly.

"Was a wild night yesterday, wasn´t it?" Els asked her chummily.

She nodded with a tired little smile.

"The art department is ready for the shooting by the way" I reminded them impatiently, "Have you seen Romeo anywhere?"

She just shook her head quietly. It seemed like there was a reason for her lack of energy right now.

Aoba gave me a quick look with the literal meaning of "didn't I tell you?", but I ignored it for now.

I just wanted to get this over with today. I had promised to take my girlfriend out for a nice dinner tonight, and I still had to arrange a few things beforehand.

Originally we just wanted to do some quick pictures they could use as a reference for the promotion posters, which shouldn't have taken much longer than 5 minutes in total anyway, but now it took us forever once again and we haven't even begun yet.

Then he was here, finally. There were quite a lot of voices outside in the hallway suddenly, and when he arrived, it seemed like some of the members from the school papers wanted to stop him for a quick interview on yesterday´s improv performance. But Legoshi seemed to be in an even worse mood than Juno right now.

"Yesterday was just a little improvisation" he told them with a deep sigh, "…it was just for fun. The real performance will be more serious…"

"Can you tell us a little more about the real performance please?" one of them asked him.

"I don't want to spoil anything, I´m sorry. Excuse me now!" he told them quite plainly. With that, he smoothly closed the door right in front of their faces and left them outside in the hallway.

"Well you look like you´ve had quite a hangover…" I greeted him with a big grin.

He totally ignored that comment and silently greeted everybody with a little nod.

"You´ve put on quite a show last night, didn´t you?" Aoba asked him, "The entire school is talking about it."

Legoshi ignored that comment as well, not even hinting a little nod or anything.

"Is the art-department ready for those photos?" he asked, looking at Kai while doing so. His mood really was appalling.

"Have I judged this so wrong yesterday?"

"Uhm…yeah…sure" Kai affirmed, "We´re ready. You just have to get into your costumes and in front of our setup over there…" he pointed out.

Legoshi noticed that everybody except for Juno and him wore their stage-clothing already, so he immediately went towards Dom and the others from the art-department to get it. Juno followed him there and got her costume as well. While she quickly went towards the girl´s locker-room to get changed, he just undressed himself down to his boxers right there and got into his costume right here on the set.

Especially the female students of the drama-club grinned a lot seeing him like that.

"Have you been working out, Legoshi?" Aoba wanted to know, "You seem even stronger…"

Although I found it a little weird he mentioned it, he was right about that. He did look a little stronger, and now I also noticed how long and deep the scars on his back I gave him really were. In person, it looked so much worse than on the photo Sam showed me this morning.

"Just a little" he affirmed, while he got into the purposely ripped and dirty looking shirt he would be wearing for the performance as well.

"Suits him well I think" Sheila from the dance team giggled, "Romeo is looking handsome."

Not even that seemed to bother him. He knew he was the one topic right now, and he knew that everybody kept staring at him, but he seemed to be so mad about something that he didn´t care about his sudden popularity at all.

When Juno joined us again just a minute later, all the actors and dancers gathered on the set and Sanu began positioning us one by one.

"Juno, Legoshi, you´re in the middle, Aoba is right next to you…Els, as the nurse you have to be quite visible as well…Bill, I want you over there right next to the balcony…the dance team will be further back in the shot taking the poses we practised…"

It took quite a little while until he was happy with our line-up, but then the shooting went on pretty quickly. As they told us before, the art-department wanted to have a lot of options for the posters as they were not sure of what they wanted to use in the end, so we did quite a few different ones. I was just waiting for one of them to happen though, the one everybody was waiting for:

"Alright" he said at the end, "Now, last but not least: Juno, Legoshi! Since you two are…well…Romeo and Juliet…the lead actors…could we do some shots of you two…arm in arm…maybe also kissing each other?"

Now I was really surprised by Legoshi´s reaction to that question. He simply nodded, and that not even hesitantly. It seemed like he had expecting this to happen as well. Or I was right and he really did like Juno. But even Juno seemed to be really surprised about this, so that second guess was not very likely I assumed.

Without further ado, he put his arms around her and waited for her to do the same. Then he simply kissed her, and it seemed just as convincing as on the stage yesterday.

"That´s it" Dom said behind his camera while firing away, "Beautiful!"

When he stopped taking photos, Legoshi pulled away from the kiss slowly but surely and just looked towards Dom and Sanu with an impatient expression.

"Alright!" the Peafowl announced after checking the display of his camera together with Sanu, "I think we got everything we need! Thanks everybody!"

And with that Legoshi immediately pulled his arms away from Juno as well and left her just where she was. She surely looked a little puzzled about his behaviour right now, but we couldn´t blame her. We didn't understand it either.

Without further ado, Legoshi began changing back into the clothing he came with and then left us with a quick but ever so gentle "See ya, guys!"

We remained wondering about that for quite a while. None of what just happened made any sense to me. But Juno still seemed even more confused. This was more complex than I thought it was.

I hurried to get myself changed nevertheless, today I had other things to concentrate on.

"Told you" I whispered to Aoba in the locker room a minute later.

"Told me what?" he chuckled, "He´s not in love with her in case you haven't noticed…"

"He didn´t hesitate to kiss her…" I grinned ironically.

"He just wanted to get this over with" he said while shaking his head, "And he´s taking his acting very seriously, just as with the lights before he became a lead role actor…"

I just couldn´t deny those things were true. But I just wanted to mess with him a little anyway. It really didn't look like true love.

"Anyway" I waved it off with a little grin, "One thing I can tell you for sure though…"

"What?"

"He´s not a virgin anymore."

To that he just nodded with a sly little grin. "Can´t disagree with you on that one."

"No" I said with a big grin, "You really can´t. Juno sent my girlfriend a picture this morning…"

"Oh fuck no!" he yelled in shock about hearing it, "Please don't tell me Sam´s got pictures of them naked…"

"It´s just his back really" I waved it off, "You know, because I scratched him in that one performance a little bit…"

"Doesn´t matter" he told me distinctively, "Sam having anything like that does mean trouble. You know that."

"Come on…"

"No!" he said, "Seriously! Please ask her to delete it immediately. Or do it yourself if she doesn´t want to! I don't want this to become any risk for our performance!"

He did look serious about that right now. I wasn´t seeing that so dramatically as him right now, but sadly he did have a point there too. Sam loved to cause trouble, sometimes I believed that was what she lived for.

"Alright" I said, a little less enthusiastically right now, but nevertheless quite in a good mood, "I´ll try my best."

POV Jack

I just couldn´t take it any longer. The guys in my dorm just wouldn´t stop talking about it. They kept on making assumptions what put Legoshi in that bad of a mood, came up with rumours they´ve heard the weirdest theories, but they all were just wrong.

It went on like that since he left the dorm for his photo-shooting with the drama club. So I did what I had been thinking about earlier already and went for a little stroll through the school. I wanted to talk to Haru again for various reasons, and I thought I might find her in the gardening-club. Since I knew where it was now, I went straight on my way and carefully knocked at the iron door when I arrived there.

Then I encountered something which I really haven't been expecting right now. I listened through the door and after a few moments I heard steps coming closer from inside. She opened the door carefully, and when I saw her, I noticed in shock that it wasn´t her at all, but a really strong and tall but gentle grey wolf with a very familiar face.

"L-Legoshi!" I greeted him in surprise, and my voice got into a really high pitch because I was so nervous all over sudden.

"Jack?" he asked, looking a little puzzled, "What are you doing here?"

"Legoshi…" I said again, trying to calm myself down a little, "I…I knew I might find you here…I´ve been searching for you…"

"Yeah?" he asked, "…I mean…why?"

"I…uh…I wanted to talk to you alone…you know, not having the rest of the dorm around…"

That wasn't actually too much of a lie really, but a good explanation nevertheless. There were quite a few things I wanted to talk to him about.

"We could stay here for a while" he told me, waving me to follow him into the garden, "Haru is not here anyway…"

"So…how did you get in here?" I wanted to know, following him, "Hasn´t she locked the doors yesterday?"

He shook his head and showed me the keys he held in his paws.

"I help her watering the flowers from time to time" he explained with a little sigh, "So she gave me one of the spare keys. But yeah…she must have forgotten to lock it yesterday anyway…it was open when I came…"

We slowly walked through the arch side by side, until we eventually arrived at the little shed with the little bed inside. Legoshi still didn´t seem to be too happy right now. He has been in this mood for the whole day already. I just nodded understandingly and kept looking at him with a little smile.

"So what is it?" he asked me after a little pause, "…what you wanted to talk about?"

"Yeah…so…I´ve heard rumours…"

"About me and Juno?" he asked with another deep sigh, "About me being her ´boyfriend´ now?"

He looked genuinely annoyed by those rumours already, but I didn´t even mean just that.

I watched him as he took a seat on the floor now and leaned himself with his back against the wooden wall of the shed, right next to the glass door with the white curtain behind it. Then he looked straight back at me.

"…half the school is talking about it right now" he explained, "…and it´s just not true. I´m just trying to do well as an actor on stage. I want this performance to be a success and I want it to look believable."

"…it looked believable yesterday" I let him know after a little while, and just like I expected he did seem to be a little surprised about that now.

"You did go to the party yesterday?"

I just nodded to that question for now. I really hadn´t been sure if it was a good idea to tell him about that already, but now I did, and at least we could talk about it more openly now.

"…but those were not the only rumours I´ve meant…" I mentioned then.

That just made him sigh even deeper. It seemed like he already knew what I was getting at. Then he nodded, but not at all with a joyful expression.

"…that rumour might be true."

"What, really?" I asked in shock, as I really had expected something different right now "…you´ve had sex with her last night?"

It took him a moment, but then he nodded very hesitantly.

"I did, apparently" he affirmed lowly, "…but I don´t really remember it. I just know I woke up in her bed this morning and that I was totally nude. And then her roommates told me all about it…"

"Oh no" I said lowly.

He just nodded with a sad hanging expression.
"Well…that explains your mood when you came back to 701 this morning…"

"People in the hallway were looking at me like I am the new Louis now…" he explained, "…I´m just not that type of person. You know that. I just agreed to that lead role because I didn´t want to get kicked out of the drama-club. They all pushed me into it, basically…"

I slowly but surely got the impression that he really was serious about this. He didn´t apply for that role by himself.

"I know you hate me for saying this, but I think you do pretty good on the stage" I chuckled nevertheless, "Maybe you still don't believe it, but you´re actually quite talented. They may have a point with pushing you into it…"

He still didn´t seem too convinced about that. But I could understand him as well. And this wasn´t his only problem right now.

"Anyway" I waved it off for now, "Much more importantly: What brought you this close to her yesterday? Where you really that drunk?"

He shook his head about that slowly. Then he tilted it to the left and right a little as if he wasn´t entirely sure. I couldn´t hide a little smile about that.

"Well, that too …but…but there also was this smell about her yesterday" he explained, "I´ve never noticed it on her before, but it was so sweet and familiar."

"Familiar?"

"I don't know…it…it relaxed me and made me feel really good…it´s hard to explain…"

He looked at me shortly, then back onto the ground before him.

"Are you sure you don't have any feelings for her?"

He thought about that for quite a while silently, shaking his head very slightly. Then he suddenly seemed to realize something.

"I just met her in the drama club for the photo-shooting again" he said, "And I didn´t notice that smell on her anymore…"

"What?" I asked with a confused chuckle, "Are you serious? You…"

POV Haru

When Legoshi knocked at the door of the shed earlier, I didn´t feel like talking to him. I hadn´t forgotten to lock the door to the gardening club yesterday. I´ve been here all along, but I just didn´t want to see him right now. So I pretended I wasn't here, even when he asked through the door if I was there by chance.

It was the right thing to do as it turned out. I didn´t give him a key for the shed, luckily, so I got to listen to a few very interesting details right now. Details I surely wouldn´t get if he knew I was listening.

"Now I know!" Legoshi explained to Jack, "Her smell yesterday reminded me of Haru a little bit!"

"Oh come on, don't be silly…" Jack chuckled tiredly.

"No, no! I´m telling you, somehow…it reminded me of something very familiar. That´s why I was so hooked to her, probably…she had something…rabbity about her!"

"Just what is he talking about?" I asked myself angrily, "Why should she smell like me? What cheap excuse is that supposed to be?"

It turned out I was not alone thinking like that.

"Legoshi" Jack told him after a little pause, "I gotta be honest with you…that doesn´t sound very believable."

I just couldn't have said it better myself. There was no point in denying it, so I didn't understand why he was still trying.

"I know" he sighed lowly, "I should have listened to you yesterday. Going to that party was a mistake."

I really didn´t know what to believe anymore. I knew Legoshi liked me. He wouldn´t have risked his life to save me from the Shishigumi if he didn´t. It was more than just liking. He even confessed his love to me. But there were just so many problems for both of us, beginning with the huge differences between our species. And now he slept with that wolf girl. "There is just no excuse for that, is there?"

I already played with the thought of simply joining their discussion by surprise and clearing everything up once and for all, but then I got stopped just in time.

"You think…" Legoshi asked a few quiet moments later, "…you think Haru could forgive me if I told her about it?"

I peeked through the column of the curtain carefully and noticed how Jack really was struggling with his answer.

"She…she knows about what you did on stage yesterday…" he then told him carefully.

"What?" he asked in shock.

It was no wonder to me that he wasn´t expecting this. I liked Parties just as little as he did, normally. I wouldn´t have gone to it either without Jack yesterday.

"That´s why I was there too" Jack explained lowly, "She knocked at our door, searching for you. And then she convinced me to join her searching for you at the party."

Legoshi just covered his face in his paws as he heard that. Knowing him well in the meanwhile, I could tell how bad hearing that must feel for him right now. I even felt a little guilty about that right now.

"…she immediately wanted to leave after the performance" he added lowly.

Legoshi nodded silently.

I really hoped Jack would shut his mouth at this point, but I couldn´t really blame him if he didn´t. He knew Legoshi by far longer than I.

"I can imagine…" Legoshi sighed, "…I was rather hoping she´d never find out about that kissing scene I have to do with Juno in the Play."

I was impressed by Jack´s ability to keep his mouth shut right now. I could literally feel how he wanted to say: "Oh Legoshi, forgot to mention: she brought me here into the gardening-club after we left the party yesterday and offered me to have sex with her…you know, because she´s a notorious slut at this school who´ll do it with anyone but you…and because you kissed that other wolf and…"

But he didn't say it. He really kept his mouth shut about that, just like he promised.

He really was a good guy, I couldn´t deny it. I was kinda drawn to him at this point, this made me like him even more. Yet another thing to add to the list of complications.

But I wasn't much better than Legoshi if I was totally honest. I would have slept with Jack yesterday if he didn´t stop me. "And that just because of a little kiss? An acted one? Come on, Haru!" I told myself. "No! Hold on a minute! Legoshi really did have sex with Juno last night! Don't forget about that! There would have been no need for me to hold back on Jack yesterday…would there? No! Yes...maybe?"

Goddamn, this was just getting more and more complicated. I really couldn´t make a reasonable decision about it right now. I just kept staring through the little column of the curtain for now.

"…I think she would have found out about it in the end" Jack told him after a little while, "Face it, Legoshi, you would have been on the front page of the school wave once again anyways…"

"You´re probably right" he sighed, "There is no point in denying it, is there?"

"I think you´ve gotten the great chance in the drama-club with this. You should take it. I didn´t say it for fun, I found it genuinely exciting to see you on stage yesterday. And you´ll figure things out with her eventually…"

That left Legoshi thinking for another moment.

I wasn´t too sure about that last part right now either. I was so confused by my feelings right now. One part of me wanted to forgive him, wanted to forget all that ever happened yesterday, wanted to get back to that pure and equal friendship we shared, but that other, equally strong part of me wanted to just end all this for good. "Monogamy never had worked out for me anyway, so why would it now? Why should it work out with him? What was so different about him? He never did anything great for me! Why would I…wait…no, he did! And he still loves me! But he slept with…"

"Thanks, Jack" Legoshi told him lowly, "You´re a good friend."

That was one of the few things I wanted to agree with him at the moment. The cute little Labrador really knew how to keep his mouth shut. That was the most valuable thing a friend could have.

"We should get something to eat…" Legoshi proposed after another short pause, "I haven't eaten anything this whole day. I´m starving."

"You´re right" Jack agreed before slowly getting onto his feet as well, "Why don't we go get something from the cafeteria?"

This suddenly went so much faster than I expected. "They wanted to leave already?"

I still stood behind the curtain and watched them through that one little gap on the side. But now that they got up suddenly, I totally forgot to get a few steps back once again. I was just unable to move somehow, and then it was too late anyway: Apparently just by chance, Jack looked right where I was standing and spotted me peeking through the curtain. Our eyes locked up for a short little moment, and I already knew it was too late to deny it at this point. He knew I had been listening this whole time.

I put my hands in front of my mouth in total shame, but he didn´t say anything and just stared at me for a worryingly long moment. Then he just turned away from me slowly.

"You coming?" Legoshi asked him, being already on his way to the exit.

"I…uhm…" he said, really unsure of what to do right now, "…yeah."

And with that, not turning around for a second time, he followed him quickly.

I felt so weak in my knees right now. "He even shut his mouth about that?! Why would he do that for me? He knew everything now! He knew I knew everything now! But why would he protect me? Was he doing that for me or for Legoshi?"

My heart was racing right now. I was expecting a lot of things to happen, but not that. That changed everything.

After a long moment of panic and racing thoughts, I slowly trotted back towards the little bed and let myself fall onto it lazily. I needed to get my head clear for a minute. But that wasn´t so easy right now. I had so many questions.

"If Legoshi was his best friend, why wouldn´t he tell him about it? Isn´t that what best friends do? Would he tell him about it later?"

The only thing I could think of right now, was that Jack was doing it for himself. But I knew too little about him to assume his intentions. I just gotten to know him yesterday. "Maybe he didn´t know why he was doing it either?"

POV Jack

"What was I doing! Why didn´t I say anything?! Legoshi! Haru! Oh my god. Oh my God! AHHH!"

"Everything alright?" Legoshi asked, as we went through the hallway towards the cafeteria together.

"Uhm…what?"

"You seem a little stressed all over sudden" he chuckled.

I just noticed that we weren't alone in the hallway and quite a lot of other students stared at him with great interest. He really was popular all over sudden. I really hoped this would count as a believable reason for my sudden panic.

"Uhm…no!" I said with a hopefully not too awkward and nervy smile, "Everything is fine."

Before you run around in circles screaming in total panic: Yes, there will be a chapter 3.1! For the people who know me, you know what to expect. For the ones who don't: Very explicit smut coming up soon!

Already started writing it, not quite finished yet though. Hope it won´t take too long.
