Jac was resting next to her daughter's hospital bed, it was agreed she would stay in for a couple of days to make sure her infection was definitely going with the antibiotics. It was tiring all this waiting around but Jac was used to it because of what their life had become. She smiled at a message from Emma so she called her daughter to just make sure she was ok with her dad, they spoke for a bit before she was interrupted by none other than Fletch causing her to roll her eyes and swiftly end the call promising Emma she would ring her back later. Fletch passed her a coffee, she smiled appreciatively and thanked him as she didnt want to leave her daughter's side right now. He kind of just loitered by the foot of the bed, Jac just stared at him confused as to why he was there. In a way, she hoped that her daughter didnt wake up otherwise she could be in serious trouble with her lies so she ushered Fletch out of the room convincingly stating she was going to get some food and asked him to join her.

"Is she doing ok then?"

"Yeah it's just an infection, Frieda was right but mind you when is she not" Jac laughs slightly "She's a great doctor, one of the best and a pleasure to teach not that I've done much teaching the past year with everything thats been going on"

"It must be hard"

"Yeah" Jac confirms "It is"

"Hopefully she'll be allowed out today" Fletch offers a weak smile as he drinks his coffee, she nods slowly "I'm sorry about being so...abrupt"

"You dont need to apologise" she offers a weak smile "I can be pretty abrupt when I want to be, so who am I to judge?"

"I'm sorry anyway" he confirms with a small smile, she offers him one back "You said we need to talk? How about tonight if you can get Frieda to babysit for you?"

"Um...yeah ok" she nods "I'll text you, I still have your number if it's still the same?"

"Uh no I actually changed it, here" he smiles taking her phone and putting his number into it "There you go"

"Thanks" she smiles before biting her lip "I should go and...get back to my child"

"Yeah of course" he gets up as she does, she looks at him in the eyes, he looks at her "It's good to see you, really, I'm not...there are no ulterior motives"

"I know" she whispers "I have to go though, bye"

"Bye"

Jac was packing up the bag Frieda got for her last night as Eloise was being discharged finally, she smiled as her daughter watched some crappy kids show on hte iPad whilst Frieda organised her medications for Jac which she was grateful for. Jac drove them all back to the hotel and dismissed Frieda from babysitting duties, she glanced at her daughter and curled up in bed with her to watch some film together, she missed the days they could do this and they would get through the whole movie. It never seemed to happen now though as there were always complaints that she ached or that she was in pain, either that or she fell asleep in Jac's arms not that she minded really, at least she was safe there. Her phone went off and she frowned softly at Emma sending her some video so she watched it and laughed slightly before deciding to call her other daughter as the one that she had with her was currently asleep. Frieda came back and told her that she was going to be starting work at Holby again as it was obvious Jac needed her to step in when she couldnt. It wasnt before long until the time came when she was supposed to be meeting Fletch so she got ready kissed her sleeping daughter on the head and checked the medical equipment before heading off to Albie's.

"Hi" she smiles, why was this so awkward?

"Hi" he offers a small smile gesturing to the wine glass and the bottle of wine "I took the courtesy of getting a bottle in"

"Oh right, thank you" she confirms and hangs her beg on the corner of the chair, she bites her lip not really knowing where to start as she watches him pour her a glass "Thanks"

"No problem" he nods as this awkward mist fell over them "So...what did you want to talk about?"

"Um" she falters and places her glass down on the table in front of them, she winces slightly not really sure where to start "You might not like what I have to say but..."

"But?"

"Eloise she's..." she falters and Fletch looks at her full of concern, he immediately took her hand "She's...ok you have to promise me not to go off the rails-"

"Please tell me...she not..." he looks at her and drops her hand, Jac gulps and looks at him, he breathes out and shakes his head "Jac, please, please tell me...please"

"I'm sorry, I just..." she looks at him, he shakes his head and runs his hand through his hair "Please, just hear what I have to say-"

"No" he shakes his head, "No, you had me treat my own daughter?! What sort of person are you?! You kept her from me for years and..."

"I'm sorry, I am I just...when I found out I was scared and I didnt know how to feel, I didnt know what to do-"

"Well telling me would have been a good start Jac" he snaps at her, she huffs and closes her eyes "I can't believe you, after we were getting so close that for, one, you flee because you couldnt face the music and two, because...you kept my child hidden from me. I will never forgive you for this, ever!"

"I'm sorry!" she cries and Fletch looks at her with tears in his eyes "I am, she was born and when she was born I thought about it but then things changed and she became ill and went through treatment and then she was cured, after that I thought she was...going to be ok from then on so I tried to pluck up the courage to call you and tell you but then she got sick again and this is what my life has been like, her getting sick over and over again and then curing her and I can't..."

"You're not going to make me not hate you"

"I'm not doing this because of me, I'm doing it for her-"

"Oh even better Jac, even better" he scowls, she sighs and shakes her head at his words "So if she didnt want this you wouldnt have done it then-"

"No thats not what I'm saying"

"But it is though" he whispers and sits back in his chair in disbelief "Isnt it? Because it's what you do, it's always what you've done!"

"You've made some awful decisions when it's come to your kids as well so dont you even dare sit there and tell me I'm doing it wrong"

"Why now then?" he asks her, she drops her gaze "Why tell me now?"

"Because it's what she wants, she wants to know her daddy and if she leaves me, if she passes away and if this time treatment doesnt work then I want to make sure she had all she wanted because no child of her age deserves to go through this"

"I just...I dont understand how your brain works Jac" he shakes his head and grabs his jacket "And to think that maybe we were on some sort of mutual ground back then...how stupid was I?"

"Where are you going?" she grabs his wrist, he glares at her so she removes her hand that was clasped around it

"Anywhere away from you"

He left and she just rubbed her hands over her face in disbelief at how that went, she had a feeling it would turn sour so at least she was prepared. Jac went back to her hotel, Eloise was asleep so she dismissed Frieda who was going to be doing the nightshift for her, she smiled and thanked her before climbing into bed to hold her daughter wishing she could bring her wishes to her. Jac decided to grab her daughter's hospital notes and read them, she sighed at the plain-as-day words in front of her knowing what it would mean for Fletch and his kids if she was to go there with this but it was the only way her daughter could have a chance of fighting this and for longer, reduce the possibility of relapsing. Eloise woke and Jac smiled at her daughter as she moved onto her lap, she held her close and kissed her on the head as she settled down against her body, her head resting against her mother's shoulder allowing Jac to cherish this moment entirely.

"Meet daddy" Eloise mumbles, Jac didnt know why the tears pricked her eyes at her daughter's words "Please"

"Maybe soon baby" she whispers, she wanted it all to be calm and controlled when she introduced Eloise to Fletch, the last thing she needed was her daughter being put in the middle of her parents arguing "You need to rest first before we think about that"

"Emma"

"Yeah maybe soon we can go and see her," Jac says against her head, her lips brushing against her head "When we move out of this hotel room maybe she can come back home, would you like that?"

"Miss her"

"I miss her too, so much" Jac assures her daughter "But Emma's daddy, he understands that she'll be back with us when we're settled"

"Okay"

"You get some sleep, I'm not going to move" Jac whispers against her daughter's head, Eloise nods and closes her eyes causing Jac to drape a blanket over both of their bodies wishing her life was different
