CHAPTER NINETY-THREE
Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile. 5 reviews gets next chapter early. Mini-confrontation with Ima, it's only a little one compared to what she really needs.
I manage to get half an hour alone before the expected intrusion of Ima sitting down beside me happens. Turning my head I fix my gaze on her, the third glass of vodka still sitting mostly untouched in front of me.
"What did you do to him?" Ima spits out.
"Sorry? What did I do to who?" I decide to play innocent, knowing it'll drive her even more insane.
"Jax, what did you do to him. Or say to him. He hasn't said anything to me all night and every time I walk towards him he almost runs in the opposite direction." Ima sounds confused and irritated.
I giggle, swirling the liquid in my glass "Oh honey, I didn't say anything to him. Maybe he finally realised that sticking his dick in you is like throwing a sausage down a hallway."
Ima sits in silence, trying to work out what I've just said, sighing I swallow a bit of the vodka in my glass, mid swallow Ima suddenly gasps as she finally realises the insult to her and the origin of her income.
"He never had any complaints before." Ima eventually splutters.
I roll my eyes and turn on my stool to stare at her crossing my legs and adjusting the bottom hem "He never had any complaints before because he didn't know what he could have."
Ima glares at me and over her shoulder I see Gemma, Luann and Jax all watching the interaction carefully. "And you really think that you're going to be able to change the way he is. I don't know what you think you have but nothing is going to stop him from fucking anything he wants."
I can't help the giggle that escapes, hopping to my feet I pick up my glass "He obviously doesn't want you then."
I stand up straight smiling brilliantly at her "And you may want to rethink my ability to keep Jax happy, it was only a request from me that had him staying well and truly away from you."
Deciding to get one last dig in before I leave her I lean close to her ear, my mouth a few inches away and whisper "And I haven't even fucked him, yet."
Crossing through the crowds I seat myself at the other bar, leaving Ima stewing in the bubble I just popped. Almost an hour later I hear heels coming towards me and the sigh of relief as whoever it is that's interrupted my solitude sits down.
Turning my head 45 degrees I meet the dark eyes of Gemma looking at me concerned. "You okay baby?"
Nodding I put down the glass I'd just lifted, it's actually only about the 4th double shot I've had since I arrived almost 2 hours ago so while I wouldn't drive at the moment I'm nowhere near drunk.
Her eyes bear into mine for a while before she sighs and looks around again, most of the Sons are around the room, they have been vanishing for periods of time with Luann's talent, but returning to the free flowing booze and food.
"I heard someone tried to take credit for the cupcakes you made." Gemma states, I'm not sure if she wants to get a rise out of me, I'm too tired after dealing with David and JJ this evening and then Ima twice so I simply shrug.
Gemma puts a hand on my shoulder, "You sure you're okay?"
Nodding again, "Just tired. Dealing with my family always takes it outta me."
Gemma nods, "And confrontations with blonde porn stars? Well Clay's not far off being ready to go, the other guys will want to stay but if you want to leave he just has to give an order."
I start frantically shaking my head, "No! I'm not gonna make the guys leave cause I feel like a party pooper. As for Ima, well she's a non-issue in the grand scheme of things."
Gemma nods, "Okay baby." She slides off the stool, collects the beer sitting on the bar and heads back in Clays direction.
I'm not sure how long it is before someone else is settling themselves on the stool beside me. This time the smell of leather, smoke and petrol immediately lets me know it's a Son, turning my head again I meet Opie's eyes, he frowns as he glances around the room, his eyes settle on Donna over where Lyla is with Miles, Juice and Al. His whole body relaxes slightly and he looks back towards me.
"Just makin' sure that the un-knowledgeable knows she's off limits." He states, smiling a little.
I giggle, "I'm sure the giant man who's had his arm round her all night kinda gave that away. And I'm pretty sure that Luann had the girls giving all the males quick lessons that any girls with Crows tattooed anywhere are not to be touched or spoken to inappropriately."
Donna's wearing her white jeans and a black top which leaves the inked crow perched on the redwood branch completely exposed.
Turning to Opie I voice the thought I just had, "You know I'm amazed that Gemma and Don manage to keep you guys all so healthy. There are only 2 of them and 10 members."
Ope half-shrugs, "Prospects do a lot too."
I nod; the poor guys who are prospecting really do get stuck with the shitty stuff to do. "I know, like today. Poor Miles having to sit outside and wait while I got bored to tears. Actually maybe that was poor me. Anyway, did you talk to Jax?"
Opie shakes his head, "Nope, why?"
"David's leaving." I state, finishing my vodka and shaking my head at the bartender when he comes to pour me another one.
"Shit. When?" Opie says his full attention on me now.
"New Years, he's going to Sacramento."
Opie nods, "We'd heard from Unser he was thinking of leaving but nothing for sure yet."
"Well, he hasn't told anyone other than Uncle Jacob yet. Only reason I know is that Jacob was singing his kids praises today even though it appeared neither of them wanted me to know anything."
Opie's eyes are still scanning the room, we both notice Juice and Al leaving, glancing at my watch I realise we've been here for almost 4 hours, it's approaching midnight and it appears some of the guys have had enough. I finally spot Jax having not seen him since he watched me use all my restraint to not beat the shit outta Ima; he's in the corner with Donna, Lyla and Miles. Aaron, the other prospect, is not far from them with Chibs and Bobby.
"Never thought I would see Juicy settling down, but it seems Al may just be able to." Opie says as we hear Juices bike leave during a pause in the music.
I grin widely, "Yeah, maybe she'll stay here."
Opie doesn't reply, his eyes have locked on Donna who's walking towards us, I can tell by her eyes that she's ready to leave. When she reaches us she leans against Ope who rests his arm across her shoulders while she looks at me.
"Ready to go? You can come with me to Gem's. I'm taking the truck and Miles is bringing my car back later." Donna says yawning mid-sentence.
I nod and get to my feet, going to where Lyla is, "Hey Ly, can I get you to open your room, I'm heading off with Ope and Donna, I'm ready to sleep standing up."
Lyla nods and jumps up from her position perched on Miles' knee, Jax seated beside them where Juice had been.
Jax raises his eyes, "I'm ready to hit the road too if you wanna go home instead of Ma's."
I nod, "That'd be good, I don't really think Gem's couch is comfortable."
Jax shakes his head, "It ain't."
Lyla is standing quietly beside us and waits till I turn my attention to her before she nods in the direction of her room with me following her. It only takes a couple of minutes to navigate the crowd and for her to unlock her door, but when I pick my backpack up from the chair and turn around she's just inside the door with it closed behind her.
I raise my eyebrow "You alright?"
She nods "I talked to Amy."
I shake my head "I don't want to know."
Lyla puts her hand on my arm "Yeah you do. She said that didn't do anything. He kept muttering about insanity dressed as a sailor and how he wanted to have full control over wardrobe. She didn't think that she was meant to hear it. But they ended up sitting in one of the rooms smoking and talking about the business."
My eyes widen and I can't quite get my thoughts in line to respond so Lyla just shrugs and pulls me from the room and back down through the crowd. Just before we get to where Jax is standing I squeeze her fingers "Thanks for telling me that, but don't tell anyone else please?"
Lyla nods and pushes through the last few people, taking her place back Mile's lap. Jax reaches out a hand and grabs my bag from my shoulder and throws it into the couch beside them. "Take that back to the clubhouse with ya."
Jax drops his arm round my neck and leads me outside, stepping to the side of his bike he takes off his kutte, hoodie and button up shirt, handing me the shirt I shrug it on over the dress I'm wearing, buttoning it from the top down the last button is done up just above my knee.
He's settled himself on his bike before we hear heels coming up behind us, I glance over my shoulder and sigh when I realise it's Ima who has noticed we're leaving.
"Jax, you're leaving already?" She calls getting closer.
I can see Jax roll his eyes from where I'm standing beside him, but the distance she is away means she can't see. "Yeah, taking Sarah home." He says, waiting till I'm settled behind him before raising the kickstand.
"Couldn't she take herself so you can stay, Amy monopolised you earlier but she's gone now, I thought we could spend some time together." Ima has reached his side and rests a hand on his shoulder.
Jax reaches down and starts the bike, "She lives with me. She goes, I go."
Ima's jaw drops with the little shared knowledge that I'm living at Jax's house, no mention of it being temporary is made. Jax walks the bike backwards a little, I barely have time to smile and wiggle my fingers before we're pulling out of the car park.
